Storyline

Putt-Putt was planning a nice day at Mr. Firebird's Firework Factory, but an accident sends him blasting into space! Putt-Putt and his dog Pep find themselves stranded on the moon, where they meet not only a variety of strange aliens, but also Rover, a lunar rover who was abandoned on the moon by astronauts. Together, Putt-Putt and Rover must find several objects to build a rocket and return to Earth.

Now that's what I call a FANTASTIC sequel!

Putt Putt Goes to the Moon, builds upon what first Putt Putt made, but ten times better.

The premise is now actually fun for both kids n older audience, going to the moon is the classic! The gameplay is now an actual proper adventure, doing tasks and trying to solve puzzles, and not just half of it being chores like in first Putt Putt.

And they actually put way more objects to click on, a stable of Humongous Entertainment, which felt absent in the first Putt Putt, and it's now in the sequel! Also another minor, but appreciated upside of this sequel is, that there's way more mini games and they're actually alright, airplane one especially.

It's still a bit too easy in my book, but overall, a major step up in terms of quality and I actually can recommend this one if you like super laid back and casual point and click adventures.

Putt Putt goes to the moon is an absolute banger of a game from the early 90's made for kids! It keeps kids locked in still in 2025! As a 40 year old man who played this as a kid it was fun. Now as a dad I get to relive the fun all over again with my son! i would buy any of the Putt Putt games or FF or PJS games. know with some of the game you may need to download a loader to play the games. few extra steps with them but overall easy to do. this game should play with no issues.

[b]Putt-Putt® Goes to the Moon[/b] is the fourth stop on my little Nostalgia Tour and happens to be second full Putt-Putt game overall. I never got to play it as a kid, but even with the old Putt-Putt design I still felt waves of nostalgia booting this up. This one is fairly simple with a handful of mini-games and activities that I'm sure are hits with kids, including an arcade cabinet featuring Fatty Bear.

One thing this game does that leaves me wondering though is that it establishes aliens live on the moon in a more advanced society, ok that's fine, but also that humans exist in the Putt-Putt world. I mean, I guess Putt-Putt has always referred to where he lives as Car-Town, so it may just be this one town with the sentient cars...but from what I can recall there had never been humans in other Putt-Putts and those carfolk seemed to be in a lot more places than just Car-Town. Curious implications....

Anyways, this is a short little adventure that will keep kids entertained and adults can enjoy a bit of the old days with. I recommend picking this up on sale in either the Putt-Putt Complete Pack or the Humongous Entertainment Complete Pack.

Like the first game, there's not a lot to Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon.

This, I think, really did a lot to up the general interactivity in the world, compared to the first game. This is also the first one in the series to kinda of try and be a little more educational in the slightest terms. For instance, if you go to the observatory on the moon, you can get a pretty brief rundown on the solar system, and if you click on the observatory telescope there you get the chance to see a variety of constellations.

I think these things about Cygnus and Saturn's position in the solar system, are a little too advanced for the very small children this game was aimed at. That's okay, though. It's a very small thing that is tucked out of the way and it isn't tied into the story or the point and click adventure at all, it's totally optional.

This game I think has a much stronger story than the first game, because it is tied in with another character to whom you can really identify with. Putt-Putt meets Rover almost as soon as you arrive at the moon, and Rover laments that the astronauts left him there, and he wants to go home. This is pretty effective I think, since it's something even a child can connect with - wanting to go home.

(I wonder if this is a slight at NASA in some small way? That seemed to be a topic, or a thing in America during the 90s since I've seen it in other 90s media as well.)

Anyway, aside from that this game also has many more objectives than the first game. Putt-Putt has to find a nose cone for the moon rocket, some rocket fuel, a key (which also involves doing a 'good deed') and you even need moon rocks to buy the rocket in the first place.

I think the vision of the moon as described by the artists too, is wonderfully weird and strange. There's some elements that are even outright horror, or horrifying - you can click on a pair of distant stars on one screen that then transfigure into eyeballs. That's pretty horrifying, as far as I'm concerned.

There are many more side things and optional areas that don't really forward the story for you to explore, and I think this was probably a pretty solid advancement in terms of the series, by kind of giving children or whoever plays this game more places to explore and more things to look at and interact with. It stretches the game's length artificially a little, since you're wasting your time with things that are completely optional, but it's things you're only wasting your time with because you're having fun with them, so it's not really a bad thing.

The fireworks factory in itself, and just cobbling together fireworks to make custom explosions - which is a thing this game lets you do during the opening - is in itself so much fun that I have spent minutes there just playing with the machines, since there's a wall covered in buttons and each one gives you a different result.

I think my only one very small criticism is, I had to play 'alien tag' twice? You need 10 moon rocks, you get 5 per play and I don't remember finding anywhere else to get moon rocks, so you just have to do it twice. It's not THAT engaging of a game really, it's not the worst, but it's not that much fun.

So, yeah, I think this is a pretty solid game overall.

Easily one of the best games of my early childhood. It has a fun premise, memorable characters & plenty for the kids to explore along with a pretty standard but still rather nostalgic soundtrack. This game not only helped teach me some general problem solving, but also helped cement my love for the space-related things as a whole as a toddler.

This game also includes a classic arcade styled mini-game called Bear Stormin' which is rather addictive even if its pretty simple. I spent a lot of hours alone on this mini-game and I would have easily sank a fortune worth of quarters into this game had it been an actual arcade cabinet.

Overall, I think this game would still be fun for kids as long as they don't mind older/less detailed graphics. As an adult, it holds up decently well if you're looking for some nostalgia. If you're playing this with your kid, I think it's a great game to introduce them to the world of gaming with.

Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon was one of the last Humongous Entertainment games to use pixel graphics before switching to hand-drawn animation in 1994. Like I stated with Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, the graphic style may not interest some, but its puzzles and humor might make up for that. Here, the friendly purple car, Putt-Putt must find a way to return home when he gets stranded on the moon. He finds himself working with a lunar rover in search of parts for a rocket ship to travel back to Earth. Not only that, but Putt-Putt must also come up with the money to buy the rocket. Children will enjoy figuring out how to solve all of these problems with Putt-Putt and Rover!

Putt-Put Goes to the Moon is an old school educational point & click meant for children with a wacky storyline fit for their little imaginations and filled to the brim with fun little activities that will definitely instill laughter and joy. Even older folks that grew up with Putt-Putt will surely get a nostalgic kick playing through the game again. The game has been brought back to run flawlessly on newer systems and won't cause a headache when running it.

Not only is it a fun game with lots of interactive things that children will enjoy it is also quite educational with little tidbits of facts and knowledge thrown in, though some may be slightly outdated as the science has changed since then.
Definitely get this for your kids as it will be a fun teaching experience for them with useful knowledge and is good practice for problem solving and logical thinking. Each playthrough is also randomized so they can't simply do the same thing repeatedly.

Putt-Putt Joins the Parade was eye opening. Life changing. Magical, this game... Even more. It taught me so much about how I needed to change, and my mistakes. I've done a lot wrong, and Putt-Putt helped me realize this, but it also taught the importance of the present. Everyone makes mistakes, and that's okay. I have to say that this episode of Putt Putts adventure really took me places. first of all starting out with a FIREWORKS factory was just the best way to set off such a wacky adventure. pep seems to be up to his old trick but it really shows you that thru a little bit of imagination you can find whats really hidden in the world. we finally get to the fireworks factory and boy did I wanna press that lever but I respected the owners wishes to no pull that lever. needless to say i tried many times to pull that lever but i was unsuccessful. upon further exploring I found a window to open and boy did that really set of our adventure. Im blasted away to the moon to explore all kinds of new places and meet new people and I have to say I really feel like I built a strong and lifelong friendship with so many of the moon population. then there was rover.... I dont like rover and I feel as there are many deeper plot lines as to why he was "left behind" in the first place. then he mooches a ride back home to a crowd of people less than happy to see him. i would give the game 11 out of 5 stars at gun point

If you're looking for an in-depth point-and-click game, this won't be for you. But, if you're looking at this, thinking about buying it, I'll assume it's more for nostalgia than anything else.

The visuals are so charming and really brings you back to the time. The sound design is a bit more crisp than Putt-Putt Joins the Parade. And, in addition, I think this game gives just a bit more to flesh out the simple game, giving it just a bit more meat on it's bones.

Whether you want to itch you're nostalgia bone, or just curious about these games you may have heard about, Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon is absolutely a charming treat!

Putt-Putt has been accidentally rocketed to the moon! He'll need to get help from the lunar residents (and you!) to find his way back home. Total gameplay time about 1 hour.

The bright colors and cheery music distract from a deeper truth, though. [i]This was no accident. [/i]

Are to believe it is a coincidence that Pep, the individual who triggered the rocket, just [i]happened[/i] to have a space helmet with him on the day of the incident?

It is not possible to maintain a rocket capable of lunar intercept (using a single burn!) in a launch-ready configuration indefinitely. Mister Firebird intentionally and with malice aforethought configured that rocket for immediate use.

And what of the rocket itself? Despite being barely 2 meters long, it is able to provide the 13km/s ΔV needed for a lunar intercept to a 650kg+ payload (Putt-Putt is, as we all know, an Austin-Healey Sprite Mk1). Even very generously assuming that Mister Firebird has crammed 1500kg of fuel in the rocket, it would require an ISP over 1,100 sec. No known chemical rocket can achieve this. We can only conclude that Mister Firebird is involved in skunkworks projects.

Perhaps Putt-Putt knew too much.

Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon was okay. It was another short one where i started drinking before playing and still wasn't a challenge. Putt-putt goes to a firework factory to i don't know see how they're made, and his stupid cave dog hits a switch which fires a Super Firework. Putt-Putt gets "stuck" on it and away into space he goes, and honestly that rocket sits there for a hot minute, he could have jumped off it. BTW his dog should be dead even if it has a helmet, the cold vacuum of space would make it a dogsicle. Also the moon's gravity is alot low then this game shows. Drunk me calls bullsh*t on star constellations. Drunk me also pointed out that this is "just a car doing stuff", while Freddi Fish was "a cool mystery things".

Putt-Putt 2 (aka Putt-Putt Goes To The Moon) is an ancient collection of childrens minigames made using the ScummVM engine. Games include mazes, connect-the-dots, point and click adventuring and so on. The game includes characters from a series of other educational childrens games, Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear.

There's nothing wrong with the general idea, but this game is over 25 years old, it's ancient. 4:3, fixed resolution (looks like VGA). Weirdly, the devs have patched it from time to time, but this is really like putting lipstick on the skeleton of a pig that died long ago. I know that's not all that nice to say, but these guys are charging $7.00 USD for this, when you can play free educational games for kids, with much higher quality, in browsers or mobile, so how could anyone consider paying for this?

This is just some attempt to cash in on some old abandoned kids game. It's really not cool.

Nice little game with cute characters and a couple fun mini-games, including one that's basically Flappy Bird but with an airplane being piloted by a bear.

Takes less than an hour to play, so it's great if you're looking for something that's not a huge time commitment.

This game is the best game ever. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. This needs to have an Award. It is the best of the best. Way better then Gmod or FNAF or any other Nintendo game. I love this game with my heart and they should port this game to other consoles if it’s not on it already.

Replaying this game was classic, but young me had censored what this Putt-Putt looked like, goodness. I was absolutely terrified revisiting it as an adult only to be surprised with large white eyes that expressed....nothing. However, it is still a classic and was fun to play through and see how Putt-Putt evolved over the course of its series.
