Putt-Putt Enters the Race is a Junior Adventure in which Putt-Putt searches for the items he needs to prepare for the Car Town 500. This point-and-click adventure game aimed at children features simple inventory puzzles as well as various minigames, including a racing minigame at the very end.

a gripping drama, following a misunderstood small-town biy, whose kindness leads all the village elders to take advantage of him, especially his groomer, the putt-putt-o-phile Red-Line Rick (who invented the segragationist housing policy known as red-lining, but thats another story, further delved in upon in the prequel Red-line Redemption). R-L-R encourages the young homeless Putt-Putt (real name Vladimir Putin) to partake in a dangerous drug known as hi-occtane fuel. Despite the sorrowful barks of his only true friend Pat the dog, Putin keeps going back for one more hit, hoping each glug will be the one to take him away from this diguisting town, where each happy smile hides alterior motives, mainly involving the fetching and delivering of common household tools. Why is Putt-Puutt singlehandidly responsible for all productivity in this town? Each night, the your purple convertible stands in front of the one-way tunnel, and hopes that one merciful hit will take him out. Each time, he is confronted by his own cowardly yet beautiful attachement to his one life on this dying planet we call car-earth. Because after all, whats more human than being a car, dreaming of that one big race, and the merciful quiet that awaits the finish line?

Probably 1st or 2nd most favourite Putt Putt game so far, it's ever so very slightly more challenging than other titles and even that small increase is a breath of fresh air, it almost feels like Freddi Fish game!(Which is the games I Actually grew up on, and not Putt Putt)

It is a bit polarising because it has some strong upsides, but some few downsides.
Best parts is that you actually do have to pay some attention to what items you need to complete your tasks, so it doesn't feel like you go through the motions while playing it.

Downsides being the two chores you have to do for two characters, one is treasure hunt and another is driving around farm trying to find 3 food items. Those are just boring and just take up time. Another small downside is that I didn't see any good mini games, the pinball being probably the best one, but it wasn't for me.

Lastly, I loved how developers didn't cop out and not let us have a racing mini game and on top of that, they didn't make it too easy either! Sure it's still very easy(and I wish it had replayability, like a small tournament or something) but still, having that racing mini game was a great reward for reaching the end of the game, and I wish more putt putt games done that!

Overall, HIGHLY recommend this one, you definitely want to play this one if you're a fan of very casual, relaxing p&c adventures or just a fan of Humongous Entertainment games.

I play this with my 3 year old. The puzzles are a little less straightforward than with the PuttPutt Saves the Zoo prequel (prequel, right?) but he loves every bit of it. I need to help him out here and there, but he's able to follow the dialogue and he goes in "mission mode" to fix things to be able to race. A great game, and happy I can play and teach with my son what got me interested in quests, puzzles and eventually technology.

Putt-Putt Enters the Race is a short educational point & click where the series takes Putt-Putt to the Raceway. No different than the previous games, you will be helping Putt-Putt find the things he needs to be able to participate in the race.
There is a surprising amount of things crammed into this game that teaches kids quite a number of different topics. Mainly I find the message to be something like being nice to others and helping each other out. Of course there are inklings of chores put up as minigames where you can collect bottles to recycle for coins or helping out Mr. Baldini get vegetables for his store and get paid for it. I guess there is a lesson about currency as kids need to earn some coins to finish the game and do some optional fun things. Other important lessons thrown in are on shapes, numbers, and even signage making more of a motivator for kids to understand what they're seeing and to read.
There are a lot of familiar faces in this game with many previous characters opting to move into Cartown.

Finally after collecting everything you need there will be a final minigame to play which is the race itself.

This isn't one that I got to play as a kid, but it was nice to see some characters from previous games again....I do worry about Outback Al's qualifications as a zookeeper between Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo and now this, though....Anyways, even though I'd never played this one, it still felt like a nice nostalgia trip, and the actual race was also fairly well done as its own minigame!

This is not the most complex Humongous Entertainment game there is, but still a fun time. I recommend picking it up on sale, perhaps through the Putt-Putt Complete Pack or the Humongous Entertainment Complete Pack.

In a way it feels like a soft reboot to Joins The Parade which is pretty cool.

Everything from Joins the Parade is used here such as the location, characters, similar setting, call backs to previous games and it all feels incredibly polished which makes it a really good experience.

All of it leads to the actual Race itself, which for the first time Putt Putt can be controlled like an actual car in a race and it's a satisfying end to the story.

Putt-Putt Enters the Race is basically a tribute to the Putt-Putt franchise. Children who have played other Putt-Putt games will have a blast meeting up with characters met in past adventures like Rover from Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon and Outback Al the zookeeper from Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo! This game specifically shows how friends help each other out; by helping other characters out, you can get a great reward in return like a gas can great for filling up on High Octane gas for the Cartoon Speedway, or a safety helmet so Pep can join in on the action! Parents will not regret buying this little gem for their wee ones.

This is the best game. Period. I have never had more fun playing a game. I love every single character, I love all the hidden clickables and random easter eggs... this game genuinely changed my life. I haven't stopped thinking about this game since I first played it at 5 years old. I would genuinely love to live in Cartown.

Putt-Putt Enters the Race is about Putt-Putt fall into performance enhancing drugs to win a official competition. He might not need the drugs if he just didn't race with the extra dog weight. I'm also assuming sense we don't see Mr. Firebird around town, the race has banned him or they chased him out of Cartown for his past failures. Drunk me had a bit of trouble remembering where to get the flag, but he got there. Also Also, he really struggle bused with the race at the end, was not expecting an actually race. Fun game, though still don't like it's performance enhancing drug message to our youth.

Great Putt-Putt game, my only complaint is that the whole game leads up to a race. And you get to participate in said race. But there is literally no way for you to win during the first go-around, then afterwards they say some BS like "Oh its not about winning or losing." And I feel like thats a really conflicting message to give children. If its not about winning or losing, then why are you forcing the player to lose?

Putt-Putt 5 (aka Putt-Putt Enters the Race) is an ancient collection of childrens minigames wrapped up by a point and click adventure game made using the ScummVM engine.

There's nothing wrong with the general idea, but this game is over 25 years old, it's ancient. 4:3, fixed resolution (looks like VGA). Weirdly, the devs have patched it from time to time, but this is really like putting lipstick on the skeleton of a pig that died long ago. I know that's not all that nice to say, but these guys are charging $7.00 USD for this, when you can play free educational games for kids, with much higher quality, in browsers or mobile, so how could anyone consider paying for this?

This is just some attempt to cash in on some old abandoned kids game. It's really not cool.

This wasn't my favorite as a kid growing up, but I do have memories of playing this one just as many as Zoo and Time.. I had all but Circus. I played this one along with Zoo so many times that the Disc eventually said "no, you don't need to play this, you played it so much" and from there it stopped working. From the glorious cameos of everyone important, this is a very nostalgic game that I love just as much as the others if less than Time and Zoo. You don't need to be 8 to relive childhood. I play these every few years or so and still have fun. Make sure the kids of today can play what we played growing up. May not be as magical to them, but maybe they will respect it or something! Or they will tell you to stop it already with the damn games and to let them play the games they want to! Either one or both!

Honestly, this is another one of the Putt-Putt games I got hooked on as a kid. I spent so much time changing Putt-Putt's color for the big race. If you were a kid in the late 90's and early 2000's and want nostalgia, get the game.

the fact that where you find the items can change every time you start the game is so cool???? and unnecessary in the best way possible?? realizing this as i revisited this game was very bizarre; like i thought i knew putt-putt?? no i don't, apparently. love this one a lot; did not at all remember actually getting to race in the race so the sprites + mini game interface showing up was a bit of a surprise. i saw in a walkthrough (i had to look up bc somehow i missed the milk at the drive-in ok leave me alone) that there's 2 different endings?? depending on if you win or lose?? which i guess makes sense but omg why does putt-putt have so much replay ability??? also mr. fender bender's cat is awesome and so is rover's milkshake shop love him hes doing great

OH and the fact that outback al will have a random animal out of the 26 in the book in the library?? that's so cool dude!!!! i love that book btw putt-putt is so informative and made me look up pictures of polecats and jerboas!!!!

We see the better graphics of the third and forth game put Cartown in a far better light, and we don't ever see Putt-Putt intake 'oil' into his mouth (only gas into his engine). What's more, we have a bit of the 'move things around a bit' happen from the forth game happening here, but not to the laborious extent that it was done in the preceding title.

Truly, this is where we really see a 'great' Putt-Putt game really start taking shape. There are a few things that could be done better of course - a mini-game in the toy shop felt a bit 'difficult' to say the least, there is that damn 'quit' button being easily accessible still (though with the load and save buttons conveniently available with it at least), and there was at least a missed opportunity to tie in the actions Putt-Putt would take from previous games with this one. But Overall I really can't complain.

Putt Putt Enters the Race is like smooth vanilla ice cream on a warm saturday evening at the beach during the peak beauty of a sunset. It taught me happiness, sadness, laughter and pain. Through the works of helping those in need, Putt Putt is able to achieve his own personal goals while changing the lives of those around him. Not to mention his best bud, scooby doo, who always stuck with him no matter what. It is beautiful to see such a strong sense of loyalty portrayed by scooby.

Overall, Putt Putt valid.

putt putt 시리즈의 레이스 편입니다.
좀 더 넓어진 맵, 그리고 전편에 나왔던 NPC들이 다시 등장해서 반가운 기분이 듭니다.

알기 쉬운 퍼즐과 어거지없는 전개가 마음에 들고
특히 아이들에게 교육적인 면이 많습니다. 불이 나면 꼭 소방서에 연락하는 것 이라던지.
재활용이 되는 쓰레기를 주워 재활용을 하는 것이라던지. 길이 외길로 나있는 곳에서는 지나간다는 표시로 경적을 울려서 충돌을 미연에 방지하는 등...

시리즈를 진행할 때 마다 마을 모양이 똑같은데도 다른 플롯이 나오고 새 퍼즐이 나오는 걸 보면 신기하네요.

Nostalgia, just NOSTALGIA!

Putt-Putt Enters the Race is a game that I only got to play once while at school. It was cute and fun and I'm SO GLAD that I can play it again today, at my own time and pace. The art style, while basic, it very cute and there are many things to interact with, perfect for a kids game. And it's good for older people too, as one can skip almost any cutscene with the Esc key, meaning they don't have to sit through random guides or tutorials if they already know how to play.

My only gripes with this game are the imperfect collision detection in the titular race - what appears to be a small gap between an obstacle and the edge of the track still causes you to run into the obstacle, and the digging up of the hubcaps, where despite the game implying the dog's barks reveal the hubcaps, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Even so, this game is still fun and nostalgic to its core. I definitely recommend this game to kids and nostalgic adults alike.

alors, je sais ce que vous pouvez penser. pouce-pouce rentre dans la course, encore un de ces jeu d'actions vulgaire et offensif, mais, pour les males alpha supérieurement intelligents tel que moi, il est difficile de ne pas entrevoir ce chef-d'oeuvre du hack and slash qu'est pouce-pouce rentre dans la course. le gameplay enrichissant et entrainant est non seulement une ode aux monuments du passé tel que diablo II mais ögalement un reflet incroyablement profond de la psyché du torturé survivant pouce-pouce. ce jeu, c'est plus qu'un jeu de combat, c'est une éxpèrience qu'il est impossible de louper pour tout les fans du genre.

Amazing game, absolutely spectacular. Possibly one of the best games to ever be created, probably ever. No game is more nostalgic, thought out, and executed than Putt-Putt Enters the Race. One of, if not the best Putt-Putt game to date by a mile. I am not entirely sure how this game did not win Game of the Year, every year, forever. Hats off to the developers for their dedication and passion with the Putt-Putt franchise. For many more years of Putt-Putt to come, goodnight.

Великолепная игра, которая захватывает дух своей атмосферой. Да и графика не так уж и плохая. Приятная для глаз, а под веселыми веществами, так вообще самая next generation в графоне. Игра конечно не меняет основной цели, о каждый новый перезапуск игры, это новые обстоятельство в котором надо решать проблему других машин другим способ (есть конечно несколько исключении, но на это можно закрыть глаза). Игру можно спокойно проходить бесконечно. 12/10
