This game was weird for me; it both didn't stand out, yet I was totally hooked on it. It was sort of a slow burn, and I ended up enjoying it. It felt like a cross between Fallout and Borderlands 1. It was the definition of mid, but it also had a certain charm to it. The gunplay was solid, but nothing new. The environments were cool, beautiful even, but felt derivative. The story had some good moments, but nothing incredible. It's strongest point is it's worldbuilding I think; the setup and setting is a cool idea. And the perk system is also a cool mechanic; having negative perks show up throughout the game as part of the world and story is a fantastic idea, both as a mechanic and for people who like to roleplay their games. It allows the player to get extra perks if they want to at a trade off. The game is also on the shorter end (about 25 to 30 hrs) which honestly, I like. There's some genuinely funny moments and difficult moral choices, and even though the game world isn'tparticularly distinct, it does a good job of immersing you in this feeling of being in an oppressive, run down society. This is a tough one to grade; one of those games where you should try it out and see for yourself whether you like it or not. I had a good time with it, but it's hard to recommend to others, because this game won't be for everyone.

Im not really sure wat it is, but this game just isn't fun. The world isn't interesting, but worst of all is the characters aren't interesting either. The game just seems to lack something. There's also a message behind the game which is fine, but it seems that it's focused more on the message than the game itself. A world overrun by greedy corporations sounds so interesting, but I think it falls apart when it tries to be a joke. It's as if the game doesn't really know what it wants to be. Does it want to be silly or serious? The characters all seems so similar in a really strange way too. They're all too simple.

The gameplay itself seems fine, but without compelling characters and a good story direction the gameplay is left out to dry. There's also a lot of "pay walls" built into the game. Not with real money ofc, but in-game currency. I keep running into "pay 5000 bits to get the dialogue message you need to continue this quest". Who decided that was a good idea? Sure, maybe one or two is fine. Ive run into 3 so far with the MAIN QUEST LINE. Why on earth do i need to constantly scavenge for more money to continue the game?

TLDR: The gameplay is fine, but lacks support from the story. There's paywall quests that severely hinder the fun of the game and the open-world is sadly a side element to the game as well. The characters all sorta seem the same and there's very little "life" to the world.

Например, высокий уровень красноречия или же общения, позволит убеждать, запугивать или же умело лгать при общении с NPC, а навык науки поможет в создании улучшений для оружия и т.д. Это создает интересное множество вариантов для прохождения игры. The Outer Worlds предлагает множество ролевых возможностей. Тем не менее, сильные стороны проекта - это вариативность заданий, система прокачки и интересные побочные квесты делают данную игру достойной твоего внимания.

Honestly this gae overall is just fine.
The companions and role-play elements are excellent.
However the story line and dialogue at times can feel a little verbose and often I find myself skipping through the waffle semi-regularly. The story itself is not much to write home abt and that sucks honestly.
I had a good time with this game but its just longer OWB with less interesting writing.

FNV this is not but still solid, pick it up on discount.

Sehr gelungenes Rollenspiel.
Inzwischen fast schon zu umfangreich für mich, da man meiner Meinung nach zeitnah dranbleiben sollte. Gleichzeitig spielt man hier eben nicht mal eben nur ein paar Minuten, sondern sollte schon min. 1h pro Session vorsehen, wenn man sie aufbringen kann.
Guter Humor dabei, umfassende und schlüssige Story, viele Nebenquests, schönes Charakterdesign mit Entwicklung.
Man sollte Dialogen nicht abgeneigt sein und vor allem Acht geben, was gesagt wird. Wenn man nur zufällig eine Antwort auswählt, wird man gerne mal attackiert, hier haben Entscheidungen also durchaus eine (direkte) Konsequenz.
Es gibt einige Dinge, die man verpassen kann, dafür auch jede Menge Guides da draußen, um wiederum alles mitzunehmen - kann ich persönlich nur empfehlen. Kann auch interessant sein, den ersten Playthrough blind zu machen und beim zweiten dann mit Guide, jeder wie er mag.
Eine Vielzahl von Waffen, Fertigkeiten und sogar Schwächen sind im Spiel, was das Ganze noch interessanter macht und verschiedene Herangehensweisen bietet.

Alles in allem ein sehr schönes Rundumpaket.

Excellent writing both in the pretty deep story, options, and characters. It feels like a realistic possible dystopian future, where the player is given the chance to choose who to align with and what to change or let be. A lot of good and diferent story lines, Missions that give the player options of how to approach it. Graphics are pretty good, Music, sound effects, character design, architecture, landscapes, etc. are really good and consistent. There are loading screens between bigger areas. They are pretty short though on adequate hardware.
Loved the game. I will quite surely at some point (when it gets cheaper) buy and play the DLCs and the sequel.

This game got close to being good. It really feels like modern devs just don't understand how to balance weapons like they did in the old days. In Fallout Deathclaws were SCARY because they were hard, not just bullet sponges. Game is missing a ton of content and the character depth can be best described as "millenial humour".

6.5/10 - You will get your moneys worth but there are many better RPG / story driven games out there, also without the DLC's there is very limited content.

I was hoping for more from the creators of the fallout series. The story is pretty uninteresting, the landscapes and characters are over saturated and all seem to blend together, combat is boring and the science weapons don't add much to a playout combat system. Just walking from one waypoint to another is about all this game is and then you fight the same creatures and people again and again.

Very "meh" kind of game, would really only recommend if it was on sale for at least 50% off. Story is not very captivating, choices you make don't have that impactful feel to them, companions are just kind of there and their stories are very "meh" as well, and gameplay is standard FPS. I played this because it looked interesting but it really wasn't. I ended up taking like an 8 month break before I started the final mission because it was that boring.

I don't know what I expected-- More of a bethesda fall out experience, but its really more of a borderlands clone. The writing is pretty weak, though some good moments shine. The lore scattered across notepads and computers feels like a chore and adds little. The gameplay is stimulating, good gunplay. The guns and unique guns feel pretty weak. I used the same two guns for most of the game once I got to a certain level. Theres no incentive to try other styles of game play. Stealth is okay. Loot becomes tedious, and boring.

The Outer Worlds hat mich von Anfang bis Ende begeistert. Der schwarze Humor, die starke Atmosphäre und die Freiheit, die Geschichte durch eigene Entscheidungen zu formen, machen es zu einem echten Highlight. It's like if Fallout and Mass Effect had a baby while Borderlands were watching. I like the vibe of the game, I love the design - very pretty and memorable. The characters were great and the voice acting was superb. Yet, I didn't like the game - the writing was weak, the quests were mostly fetch-across-planets (i.e. boring), the difficulty on normal was easy except for 3 fights and I didn't really feel immersed in the drama of Halcyon. The idea of some quests wasn't bad, like the early retirement but the outcome was zero. So yeah, a lot like Fallout but not really. But the final battle was really fun - the AI was working very well. If only it wasn't 55GB. Also on linux, it caused me 2 system crashes during the final hour of the game. Also, it required additional start options to run.

Think Rick and Morty takes on space capitalism. I loved it, bought the expansions, pre ordered the latest game, totally worth the headaches and confusion.

You'll spend most of your time doing sidequests, collecting random things and finding all the little locations before tackling the real storyline, but it's worth it if you wanna see your crew happy. Would make an amazing movie if done right

for a $30 game, it's fun. even better if you get it on sale. it feels like bioshock and borderlands 2, with fallout's storyline. i'm guessing i'm 30% through the game, and i'm starting to get bored of reading every bit of lore. the characters are blurring together. several of the companions are annoying and rude, and the one i do like is probably going to leave me for a lesbian. i keep getting stuck on terrain that was easily jumped on (then it makes the noise of the player character's feet hitting the ground a million times a second and you just have to hope you can fast travel away). the skill trees are forgettable. i hardly need to use any skills to blast through everyone on normal difficulty. still, i'm enjoying myself. there's absolutely no way i would spend $70 on a sequel tho.

After much consideration, I feel like I have to give this one a thumbs down.

I really wanted to like it. I did enjoy some of the environments, and exploring. But the game offered very little of that compared to what I expected. This genre of RPG should offer way more exploration, and just more content in general, I completed it in 25 hours.

This type of RPG should offer a story and characters that are interesting. Outer Worlds gives you characters who are shallow and underdeveloped outside of the protagonist and Dr. Welles maybe.

The game's narrative tries for a sort of satire with anti-corporate themes, which is a genre I have enjoyed. But this isn't done well. It doesn't know where it wants to be taken seriously, or as a joke. The juxtaposition of tones is jarring. One NPC had a few lines of super-serious deep dialog about worrying about her kids and the future of the colony, then the next lines were some completely goofy, Idiocracy-level unserious dialog. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to care about these characters or not. But I can't laugh at them, because the humor doesn't land.

This game's weird identity crisis keeps me from fully enjoying it. This one sat in my wishlist for 5 years, until I got bored enough to try it. I might even try the sequel, when I get a 5090, and it goes on sale for $7.50.

Перед прохождением я надеялся увидеть достойную игру, не уступающую по качеству другому продукту Obsidian - Fallout New Vegas. В результате же получил максимально серую и безвкусную игру, которая ничем не затягивает.

В конечном итоге имеем :
- Бездушные персонажи не вызывающие ни эмпатии, ни интереса к их судьбе.
- Пресные диалоги напичканные водой.
- Отсутствие базовых механик. Взлом терминалов и замков сведен к примитивному зажатию одной кнопки.
- Однотипные и пустые миры. Выходя за стартовые локации ты встречаешь одних и тех же противников, вне зависимости от планеты.
- Единственная вещь достойного уровня - графика.

I don't know... I tried playing this game a second time and I just feel the same way, it's boring to me. I want space combat, I want ship battles, I want raiding parties, I want terraforming worlds, I want more robots, I want more aliens, I want exploring the secrets of the universe, and I didn't get that. [h3] Intro [/h3]

I've heard a lot of things about this game: "Better than Bethesda slop" and "Obsidian doesn't know how to make games anymore"
well I've decided to find out what is up on my own and

It feels like a merging of Fallout and Mass Effect but a very botched one.
There is nothing this game does well, NOTHING to write home about.
I had to take multiple breaks from it because it was so boring, which before happened only with Borderlands 1.

And before you ask "Well why do you have so many hours in this game if you hate it?".
I like to squeeze every ounce of content from games I play, this game was no exception.

Spoilers ahead of course.

[h3] The Setting and Story [/h3]

The premise itself is wonderful. A whole planetary system run by corporations? Sounds good to me!

Sadly Obsidian chose to be lazy because, with the exception of MSI whom I actually sorta like, all corporations are the exact same "Murders their own workers constantly for no reason" type of Comically Evil, zero variety. The only discernible differences are their slogan jingles (which are actually quite catchy).

I can't tell whether the game is trying to lecture me about rampant capitalism or just trying to make me laugh with its one-note humor. Either way, its failing.

The story is forgettably boring, just like the rest of the game. In fact I just uninstalled the game and I'm already forgetting bits of it. Idc about Phineas (Killed him), idc about The Hope (Got the colonists ejected), I could not care less about the Halcyon colony! (Nearly everyone got put in stasis)

The only story bits that got my attention ( [spoiler] "The Halcyon colonists are all irreversibly dying of malnutrition" and "Earth is dead so Halcyon is on its own" [/spoiler] ) either come into the foreground way too late for me to care about it or are background fluff.

[h3] The Gameplay [/h3]

The Outer Worlds is barely 7 years old but the gunplay feels well over a [b] decade old [/b] at this point. Funny enough It feels about on par with Fallout New Vegas.

The combat is laughably easy. Early into the game I switched from Normal to Hard and I could not feel the difference, so much so that I thought the game didn't save the difficulty change a few times.

Almost none of the weapons here sound or feel good to shoot and the variety is pathetic for a game like this. This also applies to armor options, you'll see so many reskins of the same outfits.

The enemy ai is braindead and also has no variety. You either fight run-in-a-straight-line melee or keep-your-distance shooter, reskinned to be wildlife, humans, or robots.

I completely forgot Tactical Time Dilation even existed, which btw is out of nowhere shoehorned into the game because we can't have a fallout-like game without VATS of course. Its a lame version of it too.

Character perks and skills are on par with Borderlands 1 or Cyberpunk 2077 before 2.0 update. That is to say, extremely unimaginative. You will quickly run out of useful perks to choose from and be left with "Uhh which one is the least boring out of these?" for the rest of the game.
The way you allocate skill points shows promise but at max level my character was a master of everything, It did not feel like I had to focus spec into one category. I could Lie, Persuade, and Intimidate my way thru dialogue and hack and lockpick my way thru the environment with ease.

Many mechanics also feel like they were created solely for the Supernova difficulty: Consumables, TTD, weapon elements, Companion Abilities. All of them are pointless fluff on other difficulties.

[h3] The Flaw System [/h3]

I actually really like the concept of those. Giving the player a one-time tradeoff when they fail at something is interesting.
Of course since I said I like the concept, it means the execution is not good. And it isn't.
You get a perk point in exchange for a character debuff, those range from incoming dmg increases to attribute penalties when doing a specific thing.

The problem is that, as I already mentioned, perks are boring and mostly worthless. So the tradeoff is immediately not worth it beyond early game. The debuffs you get range from significant to unnoticable.

I was actually taking all the "incoming dmg increase" flaws to up the difficulty, and it STILL didn't make the game noticably harder.

[h3] The Humor [/h3]

Much like the previously mentioned corporations, most of the humor is bland and also a version of "haha corporation is comically bad".
It is an unending barrage of that one joke FOR THE ENTIRE GAME.
Every terminal, note, quest, even [b] item flavor text [/b] is just that.
Even the Spacer's Choice slogans imply they're not good but its all you can afford. Isn't that funny??

In the rare occurence when this isn't the joke being conveyed, it can be funny, sometimes.

[h3] The Artstyle [/h3]

I have no clue what is happening with the artstyle in this game but I do not like it.

It looks like a myriad of clashing styles merged into one.
You'll constantly see elements of generic retro sci-fi mixed with art nouveau, art deco, and dieselpunk in the same room and it just looks like Obsidian could not decide on a single design style so they chose ALL OF THEM.

This issue extends to everything ingame.
Outfits range from walmart Han Solo to cardboard Rocketeer.
Weapons range from chinese mobile game Plasma Scythe to Borderlands 3 Jakobs blue-tier sniper rifle.

Also something about how the game looks hurts my eyes and mind. The overdone saturation maybe?

[h3] The Dlcs [/h3]

They're okay, definitely better than the main game, but very predictable.

Murder on Eridanos started out as an awesome detective game but fizzled out at the end when it turned out It didn't matter what clues I found because the game straight up tells me who is the bad guy. Great.
I also dont know why the game starts this one first when it is the second dlc by release order?

Peril on Gorgon is just tons of combat, which is boring asf as already mentioned, because there is no clue finding mechanic. I liked this one a lot less and the story was worse than Eridanos. The only remarkable thing is that Gorgon was the only area in the game where the OST was even remotely close to good. I really liked the ambient music. Why couldn't it be this good in the rest of the game?

Both dlcs have something in common, both are about a secretive corporate project that brought/will bring chaos to Halcyon. I understand the corporations in TOW are all this game has, but can we be a little more inventive here?

[h3] Spacer's Choice Edition [/h3]

One final thing because this one truly highlights how greedy devs can be.
Charging money for a QOL PATCH is absolutely insane (which is why I didn't buy it). And its an entirely different game instead of a dlc!!
Plus that name could not be more detrimental. Its strongly implying its not the best choice.
Because as the slogan goes: "It's not the best choice, its Spacer's Choice!" - which weirdly enough applies to the game as a whole.

[h3] Conclusion [/h3]

I am glad I'm done with this game. If Bethesda was putting slop like this on the shelves they'd already be 6 feet under. Play at your own risk.

ある程度ストーリーが進行したので率直な感想を書きます。

[h1]ロールプレイのバリエーションが乏しい[/h1]
これ一言で語るのがすごく難しいので端的に箇条書すると以下の通りです。
・主人公が善人なのか悪人なのかはっきり決められない選択肢しか出ない場合がある。
・連れ歩く仲間に強制されて選択肢が覆る場合がある。
・同様に仲間によってそもそも選択できない場合がある。
・脅迫が万能すぎて説得の魅力が低い。
・メインストーリーの進行にサイドシナリオが必須な内容がある。
・ソロで探検する前提でゲームが設計されていない。
結局どうしたいか、どう選択するのか、どう解決するのか、こういった内容を全てプレーヤーが選べる作風なのにも関わらず一切配慮がない。
余計な事をしてくるコンパニオンはクビ切り出来ますけどそうじゃないでしょという話。
それならちゃんとソロプレイでも成立するゲーム設計にして欲しいし、どちらかと言えばFallout4の様にただ居るだけで余計な事をしないで欲しいです。

[h1]コンパニオンの戦闘AIがクズ[/h1]
これは敵のAIがバカだからというのもありますが、遠距離武器をあまり使用せず近距離武器で戦うシーンが多く、プレーヤーの斜線に思いっきり入ってくるので戦闘が本当につまらない。
前衛重視なのか後方射撃重視なのか予め設定できるようになっていれば問題ないですが全然そうなってない。
大型生物が出る→突撃して殴る→瀕死で行動不能というシーンが多く、結局こちらが全部フォローして倒すことになるのでコンパニオンがますますいらない子に・・・

[h1]ステータスの設計がどうしたいのかわからない[/h1]
基本的に対話と技術だけは早々に上げないとシナリオ進行が停滞しかねる序盤の設計は意味がわからない。
先程の通り基本的にソロで進めるゲーム設計ではなくコンパニオンが戦闘の大半をこなしてしまうので、プレーヤーはバフ係に徹した方がゲーム進行がスムーズなのには何だかな・・・という気分になった。
したがって戦闘のパークはほぼ取らずに早く歩けるようになるとか商人の取引の価格がお得になるとか、経験値取得バフとかそっちを優先するような思考に陥ってしまい。
自らが未開の地で名声を得るというようなヒーロースタイルなロールプレイはほぼ不可能です。

[h1]総括[/h1]
ある程度制作側のレールに沿ったゲーム展開が楽しめるユーザー向きで、自由度の高いロールプレイを望んでいる人には不向きなゲーム内容となっています。
またオープンワールドではないのでマップを切り替える度に宇宙船に行かなきゃいけないのは苦行（ファストトラベルはあるが）
何でしょうね宇宙を飛び回る作品なのに宇宙感がてんでありません。
ベゼスダも同様の作品で失敗していますし、似たような作風にボーダーランズもありますけど何か今ひとつ世界観に引き込まれないのは何でなのかよく分かりません。
SF作品は基本的に好きなのですがノーマンズスカイをプレイした後だとどれもピンとこない。
もっと作り物感を排除した方がより楽しめる作品になったのかもしれません。

Story: 5/5. Filled with endless backstory and detail after detail, if you're looking for it.

Audio: 4/5. Good voice acting. Music was average.

Mechanics: 3/5. The overall system and hints were friendly enough, the fighting system wasn't awkward (but so many weapons are terrible). Minor complaint: the mobs return every time you re-enter an area, which means that extensive clearing out is useless. This is great for levelling, until you realise there's a level cap, and it seems like one of the DLCs' main use is to increase that level cap, which is... ridiculous. Way too many superfluous items to the point where it was burdensome to sort through the inventory. One could however argue that they were varied based on context.

Overall: 4/5. Excellent background and story, but can feel very slow with the extensive dialogue and text. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it really isn't the most engaging game.

Is the game *Perfect*? No

It has some cringy dialogue at times, some characters aren't developed enough and the enemies are mostly the same across different planets. But that said, it's still solid.
Developed by Obsidian, Outer Worlds is their take on a "Fallout-type RPG" in space, and they did most of it right.

Skills are back, you have skill groups that increase all sub-skills until 50, then you have to locate the points individually. Perks are generic number increases, but still useful. The meat of it is in phobias, now you can get more perks at the cost of debuffs when you break your legs or get attacked by certain monsters. It adds roleplaying opportunities and power to compensate.

The gun play is awesome, lots of different weapons to choose from and even modifications, especially the science weapons. All of which have special effects, and they can do some crazy things: A shrink ray that makes enemies take more damage and deal less, a giant hammer that slams the ground with every damage type, a mind control rifle that make some enemies act like your allies for a short time, and many others. The Tactical Time Dilation is a nice substitute for VATS, as you are able to target limbs to cripple them or aim for the torso to deal extra damage. It also shows the health, armour, faction, strengths, weaknesses and other information.

The planets aren't full open worlds, but we know what that would be like thanks to Bethesda's Starfield (A whole lot of NOTHING). The enemy variety is vast from the many alien species, but they are somehow on multiple planets, which feels unlikely. But other than that, still an interesting set of enemies. At least the planets are different from each other, so it actually feels like you are travelling between worlds.

The quests are varied, most of which have several different outcomes. Like choosing to repair a ricocheting laser pistol using design documents or sell them to have it mass produced, maybe you want to choose whether a space station is independent is aligns with the government. There are many different endings to this game, some have specific requirements that you have to meet during the quests.

Characters are either hit or miss, I've seen people either love or hate them. And I don't blame anyone, as they don't feel developed enough to use the humor they have. In New Vegas, they made their characters believable and mostly neutral, saving the jokes and banter for when it felt appropriate, while it feels overused in this setting. Some people even thought the game (through Parvati's dialogue) was trying to lecture the player when choosing the fate of Edgewater, even though Parvati just didn't want her home to be destroyed, because she had been verbally and mentally abused into having a form of Stockholm Syndrome for the place. These moments are crutial, as they can lead to disdain from players when it gives them the wrong ideas, which is why the characters and dialogue need to be done right.

Overall, not a bad game
Could do with some improved writing, but for the most part, it's good. I believe it's a fair 8/10. A must have when on sale.

The Outer Worlds is an incredibly fun and immersive RPG. The world feels like it genuinely reacts to your actions and abilities, with just the right amount of linearity to keep you on track. The combat system feels satisfying, and the skills system feels very rewarding. It makes sense

I think the best part about it is the atmosphere that the game build up. The setting feels very well fleshed out, but the NPCs make it shine. Each NPC feels interesting, with genuine personalities that make them feel unique and fun to get to know. The companion system is engaging, and I was emotionally attached to my crew by the end of the game.

Would recommend anyway, but is an absolute bargain on sale.

bandits are the death of world building. they exist in these games to be killed, & that is it. they add friction to a world so that moving between A to B gives u something to do. & everygame with nameless marauders has failed on a fundamental level in its writing. but chicken, u ask, new vegas has raiders in it. NO, new vegas has groups of ppl who exist in the context of their world. fiends are raiders supplied with drugs from the khans & live in vault 3. the jackals are a displaced gang made to resort to highway robbery between primm & nipton because of NCR displacement. the powder gangers are criminals who broke free bc of NCR mismanagement. all of this kind of stuff puts shooting targets in ur game & allows them to be the result of the shape of the world & its history. do bandits in skyrim have lore as to why they are there? do the raiders in fallout 3 have any lore? do the marauders in 2019's The Outer Worlds? u hear an NPC in stellar bay ask another one if they know anything about the marauders. "I don't care," the other one says, "all I know is they're crazy." the question asker says "But they're organised & they work together!" this is the most interesting snippet of lore that we get about marauders. all we know is that they are Crazy and they Kill U. there are more marauders in the edgevale region than there are ppl living in the botanical gardens or the town of edgevale itself! the marauders respawn, and they live about 10 feet from the door! there is a serious problem with ur lore when the main concern the mayor of edgevale has is about the 6 ppl living in a garden 5 miles away when there is an infinite number of insane murderers living just outside the town. the real reason that mr tobson doesnt care about the marauders is because u're not supposed to. they don't matter. they're there for u to kill. they're there to give u loot. they're there because u're playing a video game. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ marauders, man

it's frustrating that the worldbuilding starts off with such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wet fart because there IS good lore in the outer worlds too, but the bandit stuff is emblematic of the problems in this games conception. it was made, as we know, to be this kind of spiritual successor to new vegas without really knowing exactly what it is about new vegas that is so magical. i'll give it some praise here in thats it moral decision making is better than anything bethesda has ever written - u do actually have to choose what u think is right - and that the main dilemna at the end of the game is thematically relevant. the board don't turn out to be brains in jars, or vampire cannibals, or have some truly dark cabal secret- they are dealing with the same thing u have been confronted by the whole game - the colony is dying because of mismanagement, and they have a solution. do u stop it or do u help. that is good! but the board's depiction also kind of fails because the game is so comitted to being this like, borderlands style "quirky" game where all this comically evil capitalist stuff is happening, like having to have a board approved favourite song or whatever. byzantium ends up coming across as just a silly, unbelievable location because of how foppish the residents are and how evil the board is. the board manage to offer an engaging reason why u should agree with their endgame plan, but why would u ever go with them when u see them do comically evil ♥♥♥♥ like have robots gun down old ppl so there are less mouths to feed? and because ur only options are phineas or the board, i'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of ppl went for phineas. it's pretty clear cut, sadly. the good lore includes the hope itself, and the way the groundbreaker exists independantly. the actual "problem" being that halcyon cannot actually sustain itself is a great one, and the shock ending that earth has "gone dark" is also quite shocking! the important characters are interesting enough, but aside from phineas there should have been other important characters we meet throughout. instead the main story takes us on a tour of the world that introduces characters who are only really relevant for that area.

some more praise for the game, unreliable and the companions as ur crew with u as their captain IS brilliant. a perfect get-around for no one needing to say ur name, and it makes the ship feel lively. more customisation would have been nice of course and the interractions between crew could have been more fleshed out but i really dig this,and it's probably the best thing about the game. the companions are fine! they're a lot better than fallout 4's companions but their quests range from "yeah i'm interested in this" (Max and Parvati) to "is that it?" (Ellie and Felix) Nyoka's one is fine. i like that u can't romance them but some of their quests are a bit naff.

the gameplay is where i assume this game had a small budget comes from. 3 types of ammo for every gun is so comically stupid. ammo isn't a problem at any time in the entire game because u have a ridiculous surplus of it, as u are always rewarded with it! the gunplay itself is fine, some of the guns feel good like the bolter pistol. it's stupid u can't mod the unique guns. it's also really stupid that there are levels and tiers to the guns. it puts u in a constantly bizarre place in terms of difficulty where it's either weirdly hard right at the start, or comically easy for the rest of the game. don't let me "tinker" with my gun because it doesn't make sense that two identical guns that fire the same bullets, one of them is somehow 10x stronger because i installed MONEY into it at a workbench? like it just makes no sense at all. the perks are really boring too, they're all just "number go up". the intersting stuff is weirdly locked behind getting ur skills to certain levels, which i'll admit i don't hate. i like that u level up categories up to 50 before specialising, but i did feel like level 30 was a bit too low for the base game. the dodge is awesome! and flaws are SUPER awesome, really interesting roleplay mechanic that i wish i engaged with more, but because the perks are so disappointing the flaws don't end up coming up that much. still, the flaws system is so good i want to see it in fallout in the future. good job flaws!

the character creator is also really weird because WHY is hair on a slider?! sliders should only be for things that change on a sliding scale! the hair should be a grid where i can see which one i'm picking! whoever decided that the hair options should be on a slider should be fired

outer worlds is fine. it's better than skyrim, even if i gave it the same score, but virtue of the immediate writing being better. but it lacks polish i think. it's really quite ugly in its clothing, there's no third person mode, the combat is a bit lacklustre, the entire world isn't quite interesting enough to sustain this "board vs phineas" thing its got going on. like u get to monarch and stellar bay and its kind of just the same thing as edgevale? what's up with that?

there was a really obvious solution to some of these problems. the game should have been about pirates. it should have emulated the golden age of piracy where the east india trading company had a monopoly. robots should have been a priceless comodity for corporations, and distant dangerous planets should have had highly valuable resources that pirates could steal and sell. then u have pirate crews made of ppl of varying loyalties to certain planets/corporations, much like how real world english pirates sometimes chose not to attack english ships because of their loyalties. this way u can remove the marauders problem by adding context for all the different pirate crews - as parts of larger armadas - that exist. corporations dont all have to fall under "the board" and u can rip ur aesthetic from the golden age of piracy. it was looking at me right in the face the moment ellie said that she was a pirate. this whole game should have been about pirates

Borderlands meet Mass Effect!
I loved this game, great story, multiple choices that will impact the story, etc...On a few occasions though I chose a wrong choice by mistake but it was too late so that sucked...be careful not going too fast or butt finger the keyboard.
Very disappointed I completed the game in 11 hours, and I did every side quest I could find (I'm sure there are more of them I haven't found though), hopefully the next will be at least twice as long.

Etant un fan inconditionnel de FNV, je me suis essayé ce RPG dans l'espace.
Si au début, l'histoire semble intéressante avec des choix moraux qui ne sont pas forcément évident, le jeu devient très vite répétitif et parfois ennuyeux. Le bestiaire n'est pas forcément très évolué et vous passerez le plus clair de votre temps à tuer des maraudeurs sans but ou des bêbetes sans goût ni saveur.
La plupart des personnages sont sans profondeur et manque de personnalité et surtout de but moral profond. Les "méchants" sont malheureusement parfois trop caricaturaux et on voit très vite où le jeu veut vous emmener moralement.
Tout n'est pas à jeté pour autant, certains compagnons ont une histoire intéressante, d'autres viennent dans votre vaisseau sans trop de justification.
J'ai l'impression de "l'acte 1" a été beaucoup plus travaillé que le reste du jeu sur tous les points.
Disons que si vous avez aimé FNV, vous pourrez trouver beaucoup de mécanique qui ressemble à TOW, mais en moins bien fait cependant.

J'ai mis un note négative, mais si je devais mettre une note je mettrais 5,5/10, car le jeu m'a plu au début, puis m'a ennuyé lentement mais surement au fur et à mesure que j'avançais, à tel point que vers 2/3 du jeu j'ai accélérer grandement la quête principale pour en finir.
