Un jeu destiné aux plus jeunes, développé par Humongous, co-fondé par Ron Gilbert après son départ de LucasArts.
Je m'attendais à une petite curiosité et me suis retrouvé devant un Point & Click court, facile et enfantin mais, surtout, extrêmement drôle !
Chaque réplique est une vanne, chaque clic déclenche un gag visuel, ça fuse de partout à un point que ça en devient épuisant.
De plus la VF est fabuleuse.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing Spy Fox as a kid, and I had a lot of nostalgic fun replaying it as an adult. I appreciate the silly characters and dialogue, as well as the soundtrack and cartoony graphics. The game is pretty easy, but figuring out which unique spy gadget should be used in any given scenario is just fun, especially with all the animation involved. And of course, replaying the game is a must! You have to experience all possible story paths in the game, as well as the extended ending. I was happy to pick up the game on sale, and happy to relive some childhood memories.

Mein absolutes Lieblingsspiel aus meiner Kindheit. Ich weiß noch, wie ich am alten PC meiner Eltern saß und versucht habe, alles allein zu lösen.. und wie meine Mama an manchen Stellen dann doch mitdenken musste! :D
Alles in allem ein tolles Spiel mit sehr viel Witz und einigen Anspielungen, die man tatsächlich erst als erwachsene Person versteht. Ich spiele ca einmal im Monat durch alle Teile durch und liebe es noch genau so sehr wie beim ersten mal. Und dank Steam auch ohne die Angst, dass ich irgendwann die CD's nicht mehr zum laufen kriege :D
Hoch lebe Spy Fox und ich hoffe, dass noch viel mehr Leute dieses Meisterwerk spielen werden <3

Spy Fox Opération Milkshake est un jeu que j'avais longuement écumé dans sa version CD-ROM lorsque j'étais encore une enfant. Ne possédant pas de lecteur de CD-ROM sur mon ordinateur actuel, j'étais frustrée de ne pas pouvoir retrouver ma Madeleine de Proust − jusqu'à ce que je remarque qu'il avait été aussi publié sur Steam.

Je me suis donc décidée à télécharger cette version, et à mon grand bonheur, j'ai constaté que ma joie de jouer à Spy Fox était demeurée intacte.

Il faut dire qu'outre son intrigue (qui parodie de manière amusante les histoires à la James Bond), ce jeu bénéficie d'un humour omniprésent, dont on apprécie parfois même mieux les subtilités lorsqu'on y joue en tant qu'adulte. Le gameplay, de type pointer-cliquer, s'appuie sur des puzzles, des relations entre personnages, mais ce qui m'amuse le plus, c'est la possibilité de cliquer à peu près n'importe où dans une scène donnée pour y trouver une multitude de petites surprises visuelles et de mini-gags.

Le portage en français est efficace ; et même si l'on devine que quelques jeux de mots de la version originale n'ont pas pu être traduits depuis l'anglais, d'autres ont été adaptés avec brio par l'équipe de traduction. De manière globale, le doublage en français est très amusant, et donne un vrai relief à une galerie de personnages déjà hautes en couleurs (quoiqu'une ou deux caricatures fussent inutiles, par exemple l'accent du poulet spécialiste d'arts martiaux). Mention spéciale au doublage du rôle-titre qui accentue à la fois son élégance à toute épreuve et son côté franchement snob : c'est un vrai régal.

Un autre petit défaut de la version Steam par rapport à la version CD-ROM est l'enchaînement des lignes de doublage, qui ne respecte pas certaines pauses du format original (respire un peu pendant ton monologue d'ouverture, Cabri !)

En dépit de ces quelques détails, Spy Fox reste tout de même un jeu fichtrement amusant, avec un point fort qu'il faut impérativement souligner : sa rejouabilité. Car il existe plusieurs moyens de déjouer les plans de Cabri O'Lait ! Si vous lancez une deuxième partie de Spy Fox Opération Milkshake, il y a de très fortes chances que le jeu ne vous propose ni les mêmes puzzles ni les mêmes interactions que lors de votre première partie.

As a kid, Spy Fox was the one that had eluded me. Only ever had the demo of this one and never got to play any of the Spy Fox games until this release. Even as an adult, this is a pretty fun game, without any nostalgia bias weighing in on that.

plusieurs déroulement du scénario à chaques parties (même si au final c'est toujours la même fin ) on ne se lasse pas !

[b]‘He’s a T.U.F.F. Puppy!’[/b]

[i]“Dry Cereal”[/i] is a children’s adventure game starring a maddeningly confident vulpine agent. Unlike other Humongous Entertainment titles, the target audience is slightly older, which could explain why you control a grown-up protagonist. Before I continue, I should clarify that I never played this series as a kid, but I was vaguely aware of it because I loved playing [i]Pajama Sam in “No Need to Hide When It’s Dark Outside”[/i] back in the ’90s.

While heavily influenced by spy films, the story feels much like a stereotypical Saturday morning cartoon: your agency sends you on a mission to stop an evil genius from threatening the world’s cows and sabotaging the dairy industry. This rather ambitious quest takes place almost entirely on a quaint Greek island, though the setting feels very American.

The story is nothing legendary, but it does not need to be either. Nearly all of the characters are charming and have distinguished personalities, from the realistic and serious Monkey Penny to the alluring and intimidating Russian Blue, all of these simple yet effective characters show that the designers put their hearts and souls into their project. Admittedly, most of the jokes wouldn’t amuse an ordinary adult, but there were surprisingly still a few times when I laughed.

While intended for a slightly older audience of children, for the most part [i]“Dry Cereal”[/i] is pretty easy. There are the occasional headscratchers, like the laser puzzle and the situation with the underwater guards, but nothing so baffling you’ll get likely stuck for several dozen minutes before giving up and consulting a walkthrough. (I did have trouble finding a secret passage, but in retrospect I should have noticed it far earlier than I did.)

You can finish the story in about two and a half hours, but the cool thing about Humongous Entertainment’s adventure games is that the situations and the corresponding solutions vary every time that you replay them, which is a great incentive for finishing [i]“Dry Cereal”[/i] repeatedly. The world is interesting enough so that the easiness and the brevity aren’t issues.

Now, there are some negatives: [i]“Dry Cereal”[/i] has [url=https://tcrf.net/Spy_Fox_in_Dry_Cereal]quite a bit of content[/url] that goes unused due to simple programming oversights. [i]“Dry Cereal”[/i] also stores its main menu directly in the gameplay, not at the beginning, which means that you have to skip the opening cutscenes if you ever boot up the game and just want to load a save. This menu also lacks the option to enable subtitles; you instead enable them by fiddling around with scummvm-spyfox1.ini (ETA: I later learnt that F5 is another option), and I was disappointed to see that there are no subtitles for non-English languages. While none of these issues is major, most of them would have been easy to fix and I was disappointed when Humongous Entertainment ignored my email asking them to look into these.

The sound effects consist largely of the same cartoony stock that you would expect from this setting, and the voice acting features adequate talent all around. There are a few annoying sounds, like a couple of the clickpoints and Mr. Udderly’s whining when you first meet him, but nothing serious. The music is competent and consists largely of the same jazzy fare that you would expect from a James Bond film. I’d hesitate to call any of these tracks masterpieces, but SPYFOX-song-digi-40 is an especially gripping song that, sadly, goes mostly unused. I could gripe about the audio quality, but that’s to be expected from this era.

The art is largely what you would expect from a competent cartoon: the character designs are charming and filled with personality. The animation is not on the level of, say, [i]An American Tail[/i] (in fact, there are moments when it is downright jerky), but it gets the job done. It’s also impressive how many clickpoints this adventure has: little spectacles that happen when you click on irrelevant objects. Many of the backgrounds are also very well done. The graphics’ biggest weakness is the lack of detail put into the models, and the edgy pixels almost make them look as if somebody drew them in MS Paint. Other than that, the visuals are fine.

In conclusion, I like [i]“Dry Cereal”[/i]. Although you can buy it alone for $7, you’d be [b]much[/b] better off buying the Spy Fox Complete Pack for $20 (even if the two spin-offs are nothing special), because all of the other [i]SPY Fox[/i] adventure games are worth trying as well.

I was a humongous fan of Humongous Entertainment as a kid, but I never got around to playing the SPY Fox games back then. Part of me wishes I had gotten to play this game back then, but the other part of me thinks that the writing in this game is possibly funnier for adults than children. Adults are more accustomed to the tropes of spy/action movies than kids are, so it's easier for us to appreciate how this game modifies these tropes to make them kid-friendly. For example, having the spy play go-fish at a cantina instead of poker or similar games at a casino. The writing in this game is so darned clever, and even the silliest puns make me smile.

Not to mention the game's incredible artwork, enjoyable voice acting, and simple but enjoyable gameplay.

I LOVED this game, despite not having nostalgic attachment to it. It's almost as fun, if not more so then first Pajama Sam game(although I preferred the atmosphere of PS1 due to more interesting environments and vibe, but to each their own)

Basically, it's one of the most complex Humongous Entertainment games overall.

It has a more complex story, with multiple story beats, which gives Spy Fox a unique identity amongst the Big 4 franchises of Humongous Entertainment. It feels the most "adult"
it has a lot of humour only adults or avid James Bond fans will get, it's story feels like a James Bond flick, it's characters feel like a TV show character.

But mostly importantly, it's gameplay feels the most satisfying, or 2nd most satisfying amongst all H.E. games, only first 3 Pajama Sam mainline games can rival with Spy Fox, in terms of actually trying to provide some interesting and even maybe challenging puzzles, while still being very fair, that kids can beat most of them.

Honestly, the only downside for me is that I think the game is a bit too short(I love me some long point and click ADVENTURES like Broken Sword series) and I preferred the vibe/atmosphere of Pajama Sam for some reason, I guess it felt more unique? But I think that's only because of personal preference. I can easily see other people prefering Spy Fox games to other IPs from H.E.

Also, like Pajama Sam 1-3, Spy Fox Dry Cereal also has some puzzle variety, so each new playthrough has a chance to be unique from last, which is always, a huge appeal of H.E. games that I desperately wish more p&c adventure games copied, it's just frustrating how the genre barely evolved from Sierra/Lucas Arts days.

So yeah, I absolutely recommend you to play Spy Fox, even as an adult, even if you didn't grow up with Humongous Entertainment games or hate their games, because this genuinely feels like it stands out from the other 3 series, while grabbing best aspects from them. It would also probably be one of the best games to recommend to your friends/family who want to get into p&c adventure genre, Freddi Fish and Pajama Sam are also good choices, but they might be too easy gameplay vise so Spy Fox might be a better choice.

James Bond, but he's a furry.

It's a fun kids' game with silly tongue-in-cheek humor and a parody of James Bond. A simple point-and-click adventure with creative scenarios and fun situations with a witty and charming character that is very fun to play as.
If you wanna give your young kid a fun game to pass the time but don't wanna give them an iPad, then first of all: good parenting! and second this is a nice entry that will keep them entertained, as are all the Humongous Entertainment titles.

To call it "the best game ever made" would be an insult. Spy Fox: Dry Cereal is the best thing to ever exist. In all of history. Ever.

I was no longer a child—I was a secret agent of destiny, reborn into a suave anthropomorphic fox blessed with the wit of James Bond and the charm of Cary Grant. Spy Fox didn't just infiltrate the plot of William the Kid's diabolical dairy-drying scheme; he infiltrated my soul.

This game rewired my brain chemistry. It realigned my chakras. My skin cleared, my posture improved, my dog came back from the dead. The power of Spy Fox’s voice alone has more gravitas than the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. The click of his loafers on those beautifully rendered cartoon floors? ASMR for the gods.

Let’s talk gadgets. You think GoldenEye 007 had slick spy tools? Think again. Spy Fox’s spy gadgets are forged from the raw dreams of Nikola Tesla and a Saturday morning cartoon fever dream. I once fixed a broken relationship just by saying the phrase “It’s like William the Kid always says: no more dairy means more control.” Spy Fox quotes are now my moral compass.

If I were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one item, I wouldn’t even bring a survival kit. I’d bring Spy Fox in Dry Cereal. Because that game would teach me how to make a boat out of coconuts, charm the local wildlife into helping me build a spy HQ, and outwit every crab on the beach.

As much as I love Humongous Entertainment, having played many of their games growing up, I have to say that Spy Fox was nowhere near my favorite when it came to their main mascots. Other than watching Spy Kids, I was never really into that whole genre growing up and, besides, I was always more of Pajama Sam superfan anyways. That said, I still enjoy the Spy Fox series for what it is...which is mostly a vehicle for puns and spy movie parody gags.

"Dry Cereal" was actually the only Spy Fox game I really had back then and I actually remember playing it a lot...but only making it to the end once or twice tops. See, I would run out of steam or reach a part in the game that either didn't seem super clear or maybe required a lot of backtracking. I think all of these aspects are why this game, and Spy Fox in general, marketed itself towards kids more around 10, as opposed to the usual half of that in most of the other games. Notably, Spy Fox is also an adult. The other mascots are all also children, so Spy Fox probably relates more to those kids that view themselves as growing adults or mini-adults...but not those that still think of themselves as what they are...kids.

But alright, enough about Spy Fox in general. What about this game? Well, I find the entire plot to be pretty funny, and the humor throughout the story is pretty absurd, fairly silly. I do enjoy all the puns and quips. A few get a good groan out of me due to how "bad" they are. The characters are all pretty fun. My favorite was and still is Walter, even though when I was a kid I probably didn't who he was meant to be a parody of...or really any of the other characters for that matter. That [i]"FETA CHEESE!..eese.....eese"[/i] bit stuck with me all these years; and, if I may, probably contributed to my delay in trying what is actually a pretty good cheese. This isn't shocking, really, since you could reasonably conclude that this entire game is some work of anti goat milk propaganda funded by Big Cow given just how much it tries to portray feta cheese and other goat milk products as gross. I don't get it. If I were greek I'd probably also take issue with the everything else going on as well, but we don't have time for that.

So, yeah, just to wrap up. Spy Fox in "Dry Cereal" is a nice introduction to the series that you can play either in the original US format (the one I'm used to) or the UK re-dub, which is neat. This would [i]NOT[/i] be the first H.E. game, or game in general, that I would introduce to my kid. I would go with a Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, or Pajama Sam as far as the mascots go. Spy Fox feels just a tad too involved and reliant on references that kids just aren't going to get...plus, the other three are kids too, so they can relate more.

I recommend picking this up on sale perhaps in the Spy Fox Complete Pack or the Humongous Entertainment Complete Pack.

Damals noch aus der Cornflakes-Packung gezogen und heute auf Steam geladen. Es ist noch genauso toll wie in Erinnerung.

Das Spiel ist ein klassisches Point-and-Click-Adventure und war für mich persönlich auch der Einstieg in diese Kategorie.

Bisschen hakelig zu spielen heutzutage mit der ScummVM, mit etwas Googeln kommt man aber gut rein. Punktabzug, dass man googeln muss, um herauszufinden, wie die ScummVM funktioniert.

Habe mir nun das komplette Spy Fox Paket gekauft :)

Spy Fox is not very fun, it doesn't look very good (in my opinion), and I think that the various references only adults will understand makes it less of a good children's game than say Freddi Fish or Pajama Sam.

I did go in wanting to like this game, expecting to like it, but I think in the end I have to say I didn't just because I found it a little tedious and tiresome. Certain concessions were made, but there's a surprising amount of backtracking in this game and it comes down to being because Spy Fox can only carry up to 4 gadgets at a time. There's no like, gameplay behind obtaining these either which I think is a bit of a miss, you just literally pick them out of a vending machine. There's 6 or so gadgets, so to a degree you are just kinda left guessing which you need. Additionally, one of them I think is probably mandatory? This gadget also never leaves your inventory once you take it, limiting your inventory even further.

So, that just seems like some poor planning on the part of the developers. At the same time, I think it might be because, this is one of those games intended to be replayed multiple times, but they just give you all of the gadgets every run. That's how it seems to me, anyway.

The story I think was a real problem for me because it's just completely ludicrous in a way that is obviously impossible to take seriously, but more than that is just very strange. The concept is, an evil goat named William the Kid (aka Billy because he is a goat ha ha ha) stole all the cow's milk in the entire world and wants to destroy a city with cow milk so that everyone in the world will think the cows are evil and then no one will drink cow milk and it'll be time for goats and goat milk to shine...?

It's weird that this isn't the opposite kind of thing, it feels like in some other game it might be that goats or cows are being exploited and they want to smash the system and the protagonist maintains the status quo, but no, I guess to be milked endlessly and used for meat, milk and so is some sort of point of pride for cows and goats.

The graphics in this game, I would say, are pretty subpar. Some backgrounds look okay but I dunno, I just found the game a bit ugly, it has a very flat simple style to the art that reminded me of cereal box mascots, which I am sure seemed like a good idea at the time, but it isn't distinct enough to be interesting to look at. It stands out as a conscious choice, but it was a bad choice in my opinion.

Every character in this game by the way is an anthropomorphic something or other, which is just strange. It just seems odd to me that in this world every character would be drinking cow's milk. I don't know, for some reason I'm okay with everyone in Putt-Putt being a car with doors like for Humans, then there's no Humans in the whole thing, and I'm okay with Freddi Fish just being a bunch of fish, but this seems more odd to me.

As for the list of characters, so there's the bad guy, he's a goat, then there's Spy Fox, who is your protagonist who is always calm and unflappable, then there's Monkey Penny who is a monkey and she gives you hints and such, Dr. Quack or something, who makes your gadgets, and then some various townsfolk. Spy Fox is not that likeable of a character, and several others seem actually frustrated by him.

Most of the dialogue is a little too witty, I think, or at least trying to be, pretty much every single line is intended as some kind of a pun or joke, which gets tiresome actually after a certain point. I would love to know what children made of this, because I feel like this probably wouldn't have been popular.

It feels very weird to play a game like this that came out in the late 90s, aimed at children, so kids probably born in the late 80s, but using references from the late 60s and 70s, by adults who were probably born in the 50s. The structure of the game is intended to emulate a classic James Bond film, and in my opinion it kinda becomes both a pastiche and a parody of tropes and concepts and scenes from those movies.

This game came out the same year as Austin Powers, and I don't know but it feels to a degree that shows in the writing and the characterisation of Spy Fox himself. This leads to him feeling even more tiresome. Especially since as I mentioned before, a few different characters through the game, other than the villain, seem to be annoyed by him, including the stewardess at the start, Monkey Penny since he always gets her name wrong, and some others.

It just reminded me of how Austin Powers is kind of a nuisance in his own movie, and sort of only gets the job done almost by accident or coincidence, he's a buffoon, and while Spy Fox is always calm and collected, he is also something of a buffoon.

By the way, this game has a direct reference to Mata Hari, who was basically a stripper and a courtesan to put it politely and a spy for Germany during World War 1. Great. Other references include Star Trek with Captain Drydock and the SS Winaprize, and some voice actor doing an atrocious William Shatner impression. Which is just great and speaks to the age of the people who made this, because Star Trek TNG's stellar 7 year run had ended about 3 years prior to this game's release.

Anyway, I don't think I really enjoyed this game, there was a lot of back and forth going between areas talking to this character then that character, then like trying to figure out how to solve this puzzle or that puzzle, and then there were a couple puzzles that were WAY too easy, like a laser puzzle you can solve in about 4 very obvious clicks and one or two that I got stuck on for no good reason since I needed to get a specific line of dialogue or I clicked in the wrong spot.

Petite madeleine de Proust ! Comme l'explique la plupart des avis, c'était un jeu offert dans les paquets de céréales, j'avais également Cluedo et Monopoly. D'ailleurs je n'ai jamais pu me séparer de tous ces jeux ! Il y avait un 4ème jeu dans cette collection mais je ne m'en souviens plus :(

Je recommande pour un jeune public ou alors si vous aviez déjà joué à ce jeu pendant votre enfance. Sinon je ne sais pas si vous allez kiffer mais pour moi ça reste un classique du jeu vidéo. Les textes sont très biens travaillés, il y a souvent des petits jeux de mots, un scénario à la James Bond avec un méchant qui veut dominer le monde mais de manière un peu absurde. Tout est très bien amené ! Je l'ai terminé en un peu plus d'une heure.

Ce genre de jeux font toujours du bien au moral ou pour des moments chill. Une petite pause entre tous ces jeux de stratégie, de gestion, de guerre ou autres ! <3

Das Spiel wird in vmware abgespielt. Aber die deutsche Audio etc funktioniert wunderbar. Man muss sich bloß bewusst sein, wie das Spiel funktioniert und bis man weiß, wie man mit den Sprechblasen vorankommt, dauert es kurz. Aber allem in allem ein nettes Retro Spiel. Kann das Komplettpaket sehr empfehlen, wenn es im Sale ist. Der Preis bietet mehr Unterhaltung als ein Kinoabend :)

Once found in a cornflakes package when I was a child, it now has become a classical nostalgia piece for me. Playing it agin after over 16 years I can say: it's still as funny as I remembered.
PLUS: There's more! I didn't even know there were more parts for this game!
But honestly: Dry Cereal is the best one - and definitely the game you should start your SPY Fox adventures with! :)

This is a Children's game?!?! This was hands down the most hornyist Humongous games. Like you can cut the sexual tension between Spy Fox and Monkey Penny with a knife. Russian Blue all about tangoing cause it takes "two" people. William the Kid wants the edge the world and stop all the "milk". Mr. Big Pig is the biggest cheat of Go Fish next to Fatty Bear. Fun drinking game, can't remember the ending.

Un excellent point'n click pour très jeune joueur. Permet de se familiariser avec la souris et aux mécaniques de quêtes et de réflexion. L'humour est présent, et même appréciable une fois adulte (étonnamment). L'animation et les décors, qui donnent l'impression d'avoir été faits sous MS Paint, donnent un charme fou à l'ensemble. Et sans oublier le doublage génial.
