A quick and unique title, took me under an hour to complete, but I went back for 100% achievements.
A relaxing, indirectly told short story about a curious worker falling asleep at work and uncovering what their employer is really up to.
The design is a first-person point and click adventure through some 3D environments with a distinctive low poly look, with really only a few puzzles to speak of. As long as you're attentive and thorough, all of the puzzles are mostly straightforward up to the end. The last puzzle is a little tricky as there's a lot of potential objects to examine and interact with, but it's easy to do a process of elimination to find what you need to interact with.
If you like short mysteries mixed with navigating 3D environments, this is a solid little game worth considering.

The puzzles are for the wrong type of game. I actually loved the atmosphere of this game, has a sense of mystery that not many games can create due to its on rails nature. But the puzzles make no sense in its inclusion.

A kinda weird not really walking simulator but also not really puzzle game. It is not too bad but movement system is really weird (you move around and look around with the mouse). It is also really shot and I beat it twice to get all the achievements in 51 minutes.
Except for 2 random crashes when starting the game up the Linux version worked without any problems.
Rituals is a point and click adventure game (originally titled The Official) released by solo developer Tymon Zgainski in 2015. It is a fixed position exploration game where you move from a specific point to another specific point and can’t walk freely, but can completely swivel your perspective around wherever you are to explore the environment and find objects to interact with.
The game’s premise is that you are an office worker, alone in your office late at night. As you try to leave the office building, you get caught up in strange events and journey to strange places. You try to unravel the mystery of what is happening to you, and why.
The gameplay is standard point and click puzzle stuff. Find items, use them on the environment to progress. Sometimes you need to combine them. The puzzles were never very difficult, and I was able to solve all of them without a guide or help. There was one part that stumped me for a little while, but with patience and experimentation I was eventually able to figure out how to progress past it.
The graphics are a low polygon, 90s sort of style with eerie ambient music to provide the tone as you slowly unravel what’s happening. The storyline is delivered entirely in the form of notes you find scattered around, but the game also has a David Lynch-esque aspect to it where you travel through areas that are more dream and metaphor than literal, leaving room for you you to interpret what is happening which I appreciated.
Rituals is 4.99 USD at full price, and can be completed in about an hour. There are two different endings, and some secrets that you could potentially miss on one playthrough, so it does have a little bit of replayability if you want to thoroughly explore it.
I appreciated the straightforward gameplay, and the strange storyline that almost seemed to be in opposition to one another. I think if you enjoy point and click games, or atmospheric “walking simulators” and want something a brief, tight narrative experience you’d like this game.

An interesting, atmospheric games that at times feels disjointed and random, only to come together later. Its unique, and a fun one sitting game that I admittedly underestimated.
Short, sweet and interesting enough story. If you could still get this i would recommend it for an afternoon chill point and click. Can literally be beaten in under 5 minutes if you know what you are doing; so just take your time, explore the game and have fun with it.

Weird but memorable quick playthrough game. There's a dark maze puzzle that bordered on "needlessly difficult" but this definitely shows it's inspiration as the old 'point-and-click' adventures. The story was quirky but really engaged me and made me pause when it was over. This was worth being included in a humble bundle. If you're an adventure game fan, it might be worth the $5 retail price.

But something in which you cannot fail is either engagement so I would care about the story, or gameplay. And after I walked in a dark forest with no purpose, while magically knowing egyptian symbols, without a story, I'm not even willing to invest the hours this game lasts.

I cannot recall why this is in my library, but it was pleasant enough. The rundown:

The ambient music and sounds add to the atmosphere.
I finished in 3 hours, which was just about the right amount of time to spend in this Myst-ish environment.
Is it worth full price? Well, perhaps not. The story, for one, isn't all that compelling. But if it goes on sale and you like relaxing, abstract puzzling that doesn't often frustrate, give it a whirl.

Really good, enigmatic, first person adventure. It is really surreal, and what is happening will be open for your interpretation with the clues the game leaves. The could be better, but the experience is so simple and short, that it won't be much of a problem.

Cute little game, very straight forward and pleasant to look at.
I quite enjoyed my time with Rituals, it doesn't have the usual point&click game logic that i personally really don't like, there are not too many paths so you don't get lost and there is still a nice story behind everything.
One playthrough took me about 35-45 minutes, getting 100% took two runs for me and about an hour all together. I got the game for very cheap but it's your call how much it's worth to you.
A fun game of exploring and questioning what's around you, where the end result might be the end of the world, or it might just be another day at the office. For a two hour experience, absolutely sublime. Plenty of environmental storytelling, fun little puzzles, and only occasionally did I wonder "damn, did this croc really not die when I fed it poison meats? wack."

The narrative is mostly environmental, but since i didn't really get along with the art, it didn't do much for me.

Pequeño y filosófico juego muy curioso, el aspecto visual (la navegación, el estilo low poly y demás) me ha gustado mucho, tiene personalidad. La historia apuesta por el visual storytelling aunque para mí peca de tener algún que otro texto de más, y que se podría entender sin necesidad de estos, pero en general intrigante. La atmósfera te cautiva desde el principio, a solas en una oficina, y no tardas mucho en darte cuenta de lo que ocurre. Los puzles no son nada complicados, por lo que el juego en toda su extensión se puede completar en una hora, con todos los logros incluidos. Aún así, es interesante y una experiencia recomendada. Lo único que no me convence es el precio, 5€ me parece excesivo. A lo mejor en descuento/Bundle...
The good: It's short, easy achievements
The bad: Not that engaging, did not care for the story. Not a fan of the art style. Puzzles were simple and monotonous. Sound mixing was too loud or too soft.

Rituals is a weird little adventure game, where you're plunged into an eerie world during late office hours.
Story:
You play as an unnamed person, who is working in their office late at night, you're heading out back home, but the elevator didn't send you to the ground floor, but instead a mystical world where you quickly find out that your actions will have a big impact.
Rituals is pretty light on story, with a good majority of it being delivered to you by notes scattered around the world. What's there is decent, albeit you can easily get confused because missing a note is pretty easy and not to mention the major jumps in locations could make anyone confused.
Graphics:
Albeit very simplistic, Rituals is very pleasing to look at. It has this very low poly look and I absolutely loved exploring the environments, especially the jungle with a small village for you to explore. There's a good majority of environments you visit through the entire game like forests, jungles, graveyards and underground bunkers.
I will say most environments don't have a lot of stuff to interact with, you will often find plenty of rooms, where there's no items, notes or anything of interest for you to look at. The simplistic nature does hurt it a bit, but not by a lot considering it's very easy for you to find items, so you will never be pixel hunting.
Audio:
There's not much audio design to speak of, you could would probably think the entire game is on mute. There is some ambience in each location, which is decent, but there's not much of it. In my opinion the worst aspect of the game since I would really like some music to accompany me while I'm exploring and solving puzzles.
Gameplay:
Rituals is a point and click adventure game, you look for items, explore environments and solve puzzles. The exploration is up first because I have quite a bit to say. When I first played Rituals, I thought that the game was a mobile port, because you click on the screen and then while holding the button rotate the screen to see all of it and click on arrows that are stuck on the ground to move to the other screen. When I found out that it wasn't a mobile game, I was quite baffled by this design decision as it's honestly quite janky and sometimes really annoying to use. It's not terrible, but I would have rather have the game be a fully 3D world you explore by walking around instead of the scheme they went with. The world is definitely built that way, so I don't know why they went with this.
The puzzles are overall rather simplistic and nothing incredibly difficult. It mostly consists of puzzles where you require to find an item and bring to a location to progress. It's mostly really easy stuff, where the biggest challenge comes to exploration considering in a few levels you end up in maze like environments. Since there's not many items scattered around to throw you off, you will find your way through pretty quickly.
The game also has two endings for you to get, so there's some replay value for it, but since the game stays the same in your second playthrough, you will likely breeze through it very quickly.
Verdict:
It took me roughly 45 minutes to finish Rituals and honestly I had a great time with it. It's nothing incredibly special, but it does do what it sets out to do incredibly well. The world is varied and designed very well and the puzzles even though simplistic are incredibly fun to solve. If you like the genre, I definitely suggest checking it out.

Using Steam's own terminology I would rate this "Postive". But just that. Not bad for a very limited dev team and fair for a sale price. But there's not a lot going on here and both my son and i found some of the puzzles tedious. I'd try something. Nope. Then literally every other thing possible. Then go look at a walk through video and - oh it was that first thing, but more of it. But beyond that, I like low poly games by small teams. It shows that a game is possible to make using more artistic flair than capital. I feel good supporting efforts like this.
It had some cool ideas and puzzles, it was worth the time played in compared to the cost. Don't expect a masterpiece, but if you want a short adventure, it does a pretty good job
5 buccaroos is a big ask tbh
The game itself isn't bad although I think the price point could be lower since it's fairly simplistic and short. There isn't exactly a need for detective work to figure out the gist of what the dev is saying- nature is mad as h*ll and she's not going to take it anymore. I didn't have issues with the puzzles other than the crocodile which required a trip to the forums. I don't know if I missed a hint there but if I didn't that puzzle was moon logic at it's best and by "best" I mean worst.
My problems with this game sit firmly on the tech side. The controls involve clicking a triangle to move in that general direction. The mouse is used as your sight. Basic stuff, right? I turned down mouse sensitivity and still found my mouse flying around while traversing the game map. This coupled with the pixel art and the jarring movement made me feel incredibly ill. I don't know what it is about this specific combination but it's very nausea inducing. I forced myself to finish the game but the pay off was for sure not worth the suffering I feel right now.
I'd normally recommend getting a game like this on sale but the motion sickness issue is so pronounced here that I can't bring myself to actually hit that "like". If you never have issues like this then my initial thoughts stand- buy on sale. If you even remotely have the same issues that I do then do not subject yourself to this.
Je me demande parfois si on peut appeler un jeu un jeu qui est fini en une heure et qui est une sorte de point-and-click aux actions très limitées ? Peut-être, mais on est alors dans le no man's land entre le jeu et l'œuvre à vocation artistique. Fait par une seule personne, avec des graphiques et un gameplay minimaliste et un message et une thématique onirique, ce walking simulator est quand même recommandé pour encourager ce genre de projet expérimental, mais pas à plus de 1-2$.

Personally I found it intriguing and original, and it was fun, all in all.
The game is very minimal, the story is highly obtuse and the controls can get tiring, but this game is very short so you can finish it just in time when you're about to exhaust it.
Probably worth an hour when on a sale.

The game tries to set itself apart by using a google-maps like movement scheme. Unfortunately due to the nature of mysterious game, I got stuck and could not progress any further from the temple.
I guess they tried to do a text to speech "go north", "go south" kinda movement, but usable with mouse. Interesting concept, but poor execution.
This was such a fascinating game. Although a short game, it managed to grip me with it's lovely visuals and intriguing concept. The controls do take a little to get used to, but by the end of the game you'll find yourself progressing rather smoothly.

Rituals is a pretty simple point-and-click adventure game, and so my review for this will be a pretty simple one.
Everything you do in the game will be point and click. The game will display arrows to show where you can go, so while it does encourage you to explore, you're definitely not going to confuse this for a walking simulator.
The art is a low polygon 3D style, which sounds bad, but it looks better than I make it sound. It reminded me of that old adventure game Another World, but not nearly as detailed.
You start the game in an office building, and you're pretty much given free rein to move around and click on things. You're not going to have a quest journal in this game; it's up to you to figure out whats going on.
There are puzzles to solve, but they are pretty basic. For the time I played, everything boils down to finding the right thing, and then using the thing on the other thing, so you can proceed to the next thing. That's also where the frustration may come in because the game won't give you any hints, so if you happen to miss where a key item is located, then you'll likely end up wasting time running around looking for something that you aren't even sure what you are looking for.
The saving grace of this game for me is the story, which is the one thing that kept me interested. I don't want to spoil the story in my review, but it basically plays out like a very weird mystery you are trying to solve.
Overall I would say the game is pretty meh, but the story nudges it over into a recommendation from me, rather than a thumbs down.

This is a weird point-and-click game.It's not bad, though it's a little nonsensical. It's got a pleasing voxel-art look going on. It's pretty linear, the puzzles aren't intrusive, and it tells a story. I don't know if I like the story that much, but it's not a bad one either? It took me a little less than an hour to beat, and a little bit more to 100% it.
It's a solid game, so I recommend it. I had no technical issues either.
With blocky graphics (which aren’t bad), Rituals is a short point-and-click adventure that will take you to varied locations. The puzzles aren’t straightforward, but they’re not too hard either. There’re extra achievements to unlock and 2 different endings. Not a bad game, but it’s not great either. Could be cheaper, so a sale is the best time to get this is you like this genre.

There's a somewhat interesting story in this simple point-and-click adventure game so I give a hesitant thumbs up. But it is really short and pretty simple. As an older gamer, I felt a fair bit of nostalgia for the style. Overall, not a bad game, just a simple one.

It's a bit short, but it's fun. To enjoy this you need to love the low poly style. For a while i didn't understand the crocodile puzzle and needed to look it up.
Overly simplistic, both in graphics and content. I'd hesitate to even refer to the "puzzles" as such, due to the straightforward nature of them.
I have no idea why anyone would recommend this, it offers nothing of value. Waste of time and money.
While I understand the appeal for these sort of games, I generally don't find any enjoyment from them. Sorry.

Get it on sale, the game is only and hour or two long.
Excellent Fps puzzle simulator, interesting plot plus narrative with a lot of details to be discovered by casual players. This title is short and will not last more than two hours if you are smart. For whoever wants to check the development of each act sequence, the experience is worthwhile. However, due to the lack of action, it is recommended for the mature audience, or for those who likes short challenges. Graphics are simple, but also an artistic choice.

It was a fun stupid little experience, taking you from one place to a completely different place, the flow of the game is quite nice as it is quite weird. It is generally extremely straightforward, the game took me an hour to 100% (both endings and all achievements).
If you are interested in a unique short experience definitely go for this but maybe wait till you can get it for 1$ as it sure feels like a 1$ game due to its length and lack of replayability, so if you can get it for 1$ then go for it, otherwise maybe look into it a bit further.
The game functions as a real point-and-click adventure game with how specific the actions are to solve “puzzles” and move forward throughout the game, anyways, good short little game, not really worth getting for more than 1$ so yeah, this game gets a 2.5/5 from me, nice little experience for the right price, otherwise rather pass it.
VERY SHORT puzzle game that doesn't really have any challenging puzzles. More like point-and-click with some of the puzzles way too long-winded, not 'complex' but just something so strange you may need to look it up. But it's pretty and atmospheric, and a rather vague story, so if you're into that pick it up on sale!

The game itself is a short point-and-click adventure, a genre that I enjoy. Rituals has the mood and passive storytelling down, and keeps the puzzles simple but not dumb. I reluctantly recommend this game/experiment. Perhaps it is best at a deep discount, as there are plenty of free to play games that can provide similar entertainment. It is an exploration walking simulator that is short and enjoyable - save for the convoluted controls.

A brief game, but an intriguing one. I enjoyed the story/aesthetic quite a bit, but it is ~1 hour or so in length.
It's ok. Doesn't take very long to complete. Story/ending is a bit "whatever you make of it" type attitude. Felt more like a student project.
The game's interesting enough though I can't say I recommend it. There's simply not enough here of much substance to warrant the full price.
If it looks like your type of thing though wait for a sale and try it out.
for a $5 game, it's okay... i guess. the narrative is being touted as some great thing, and while its interesting, it isnt explored super deeply. mostly just alluded to through text-based exposition. the game takes roughly 40 minutes to complete. its very linear, and from my experience none of the so-called "puzzles" took more than a thought or two to complete. your first guess is usually right...
so if you have an hour to kill, rituals isnt the worst way to kill it... but you probably already own a better game. unless you don't own any games.

The best parts of Rituals are the isolated atmosphere and the way it tells its story, via background elements found through exploration. This point-n-click adventure is very short, under an hour, and is more of a mood piece. I feel it is worth experiencing, but wait for a sale if the brevity is a concern.
Oh, this is a... what is it called, a "hidden gem"? I found it in my library, probably from an itch.io bundle, and tried it out. It's nice! As the description describes, it's kind of a meditation on the processes that we go through in our everyday lives, and how that changes over the course of our lives and over the course of generations. On the surface, though, it's an adventure game, with delightfully simple sound and graphic design. It's 3D and first-person, but it uses fixed perspectives and is only controlled with your mouse, like Google Street View. I thought it was odd at first, but it actually makes a lot of sense. It's not as smooth as WASD, but more intuitive, and it's a more direct translation of the traditional point-and-click framework. Of course, since it builds from that formula, I did end up pixel-hunting for one or two puzzles, but I got through.
It was a fun puzzle to solve and a pretty place to visit

I played this through... and then immediately replayed it. The story was surprisingly captivating and it's obvious the developers put a lot of thought into this. Definitely worth the ticket price. Though I know the story and puzzles, I'd return to this again just like I would rewatch a show or reread a book. So glad I picked this up on a whim!
Just a head's up, it does have tense and creepy moments, but no jump scares... well, except for a [spoiler]pixelated suicide[/spoiler] (read if you want a content warning as well).

Ритуалы - игра несколько напоминающая геймплеем старую Атлантиду (на минималках, и с крупными пикселями да и то). Быстрая "идеальная игра", ибо ачивки легкие, да и игра короткая.
Сюжет в игре подается через короткие записки, и суть примерно в том что - [spoiler]берегите природу, Мать вашу![/spoiler]. Играем мы за сотрудника офиса в новом бизнес-центре, который волею судеб окажется в его закрытой части, и узнает страшную правду об этом здании, мире, и Земле в целом. Посыл сюжета таков, что из него можно было бы выжать и больше чем это сделано в игре, но увы. История простая и не особо запоминающаяся.
По геймплею игра несколько напоминает старые 3D квесты\пазлы, в том смысле что вместо свободы передвижения мы движемся с помощью стрелок (и не тех что на клавиатуре, а тех что на экране), и так же в плане местных головоломок. Задачки здесь в целом легкие, да и сама игра короткая. Пройти её всю, можно примерно за час.
Картинка тут почти майнкрафт, ибо крупные пиксели, и общая такая угловатость. Разве что человечков квадратных нет. К счастью. Музыка тихая, загадочная и вполне вписывающаяся в атмосферу.
Как итог: любителям неплохих 3D пазлов/квестов, и игр с быстрыми достижениями, сыграть можно. Шедевром игра не является, и тем не менее на час нужный для прохождения вполне может увлечь. Не более.

60 min indie walking simulator, interesting yet janky control scheme if your into point and click. I wish I could give a meh review but there really isn't too much to say. I'm sure theres better games you could be playing.

Rituals is a simple game that I picked up as I transitioned from just writing reviews to creating youtube videos. I still have my written review and might release it along with this video.
There’s definitely an effort put forth in Rituals, but it’s not a game I can recommend based on just effort. Much of the game is wandering around different locations and completing relatively limited puzzles. There’s only a handful of items in many of the locations and the game revolves around combining X + Y in the right order to move on.
The real problem with Rituals is it is an indie game likely made by one person and then sold at a small price. It’s not necessarily an awful game, but it’s not one I can recommend for the gameplay or graphics.
It’s also rather short and all the achievements can be gathered in about 90 minutes, that’s the reason I originally played it. It’s just not a good enough game to spend five dollars on. I know someone spent a lot of time with this game, but it’s not for me, and I don’t think most people will enjoy it.

Forgettable
A minimalistic, small walking simulator with interesting environmental choicesç I liked the atmosphere a lot. If you like the genre, give it a try...
Game about human connection to nature and about never staying late at work. Recommend as some nice 1 hour relaxation when you can have a some thought about humanity on Planet Earth and what are we doing here.
Nice and short and feels well-polished and focused. I liked it.
10/10 for art style, really nice. Some interesting puzzles that just require some thought. If you get dirt cheap in a bundle worth a quick look but otherwise even $5.99NZ too much
It has great style. The puzzles are pretty good. However, the problem is the depth. I completed it in under an hour. I when I saw the credits I thought I got a gag ending, and that there were more endings if I did other things- but no, that's it. No way it's worth $5.
This is a simplistic FPS adventure/puzzle game. Despite having a functioning 3D environment, the developer decided to abandon conventional 3D movement in favour of arrow clicking, and ultimately when combined with the low poly terrain becomes a hindrance that makes playing the game somewhat annoying and unpleasant. It may have gone better allowing proper freedom of movement for the player.
The low poly graphics are done in such a way that still don't make decent use of shaders. While this is an artistic decision, they could have achieved the same minimalist goals while still using shaders decently so that the graphics don't hurt to look at despite the low poly counts. Other minimalist 3D puzzlers have managed to achieve this, so there's no excuses here... either lack of skill or poor art direction, a failure is still a failure.
There are a lot worse games around, but there's also better examples. Coupled with the $5 rack price, I can't recommend this.
Rituals is a short, casual adventure game that follows a surreal path through a largely abandoned corporate office late at night. Puzzles are limited and straightforward, and the paths you can travel are predetermined, so it almost comes across as a streamlined walking simulator. Despite some minor issues with the controls (I found the default mouse settings counterintuitive and confusing; sometimes clicking on an object under/near a navigation arrow will move you out of the current location instead of completing the desired action), the game manages to unfold a story out of fragments of information that you pick up along the way. With well-tailored music and sound effects creating an eerie and suspenseful atmosphere, Rituals offers some thinks and some feels, and really, what more do you want out of a game like this?
Note for achievement hunters: two full run-throughs are required to get all achievements, but once you know what to do, a full achievement run only takes about 25-30 minutes. And, in a somewhat cruel twist, several of the achievements are actually for failing to solve puzzles.

I saw someone else mention they would give this a neutral grade if possible and I agree. It's an interesting game, but it just wasn't engaging enough and caused me just enough frustration to not recommend.
I would give this game a neutral review if possible. It is a point and click game with a strictly linear gameplay. The story is neat, but I wouldn't tell soomeone to buy this game. I got it in a HumbleBundle I think.
This game is nothing special, and can be completed easily in less than an hour, but its enjoyable. Its a fairly simple and easy adventure game, in the same vein as myst. For five dollars, it may be worth picking up, although I probably wouldn't bother over the alternatives unless its on sale for closer to a dollar.

A short but fun point-and-click adventure game. The control scheme is a little weird (drag to look) but I got used to it.
Art style is pretty cool, and it doesn't overstay its welcome in terms of length. I got this from some kind of Humble Bundle, but give it a try, you'll like it.

TLDR: Brutally short, plot hook and story present but simple. Showcase grade mechanics and depth. Walk clicker navigation. Puzzle quality is very uneven, from casual to over-engineered mechanical, and a few medium enjoyable ones.
Without spoiling too much of the indirectly delivered storyline. This reminds vaguely of Stanley Parable, without the narrator or the conflicted branching paths. This has one simple story about one simple thing that you guesstimate from finding magazines and reading their covers.
The story could had been interesting but it is woefully under-developped, few things bind the various locations together and are more like a word association than a real story (e.g. office work, mother earth, vibrations, mental struggle, liberation or destruction, in that order)
I liked the way the sound design was occasionally used to convey emotional content, and how the game felt a little bit cryptic yet playful when scripts fire. At other times you just bump around using the clumsy compass-navigation interface thing that allows you to float from screen to screen and trial and error your way through the level like a rat stuck in a maze, occasionally looking at walkthrough when you get stuck to cut on tedium.
So it is a very uneven title, and while I do enjoy the bits I enjoyed, it is not worth keeping around the permanent library and is best permanently removed for declutter.
This is a very minimalist adventure game with only the skeleton of a story and some fairly simple puzzles. I got this as part of Humble Bundle and that's probably the best way to experience it - I would only buy this if it were on a pretty steep discount. It's not bad and I didn't feel cheated - there just simply isn't much there.
I'm really enjoying this one so far. The low-poly style and bizarre, dream-like quality of the environments mix well with the mystery of the story; it feels like I've been caught in a nightmare. Mechanics are simple point and click; you can mouselook with the right mouse button, and click on the white arrows shown in the screenshots to do a step-wise movement to the next square, like in some old-school RPGs. Puzzles are akin to standard point and click fare, with a very small inventory shown in the upper left of the screen; objects are moved onto the environment to use or each other to combine.
They took some admittedly nice art and tacked it onto all of the most bad and dated parts of MYST.
TL:DR - Rituals is low-budget MYST.
Interesting indie puzzle-adventure game. Puzzles are challenging without being too difficult, although the aligator one and the last one took me a while to figure out. The game doesn't really give you much indication as to whether you are on the right path to solving a puzzle, which can be good and bad. The story is interesting, but not terribly complex. Overall, the game isn't bad, but its really small and obviously made by a small developer with a small budget. But the price reflects this "smallness", so I can't NOT recommend it. I would like to see this developer's sophomore effort if they make one.
