Before I continue, I will mention this is a rough recommend. A low recommend, if you will. In The House of Caravan, you spend the game exploring a house, you have limited lighting, and must make use of matches to light things in the environment, and a flashlight with limited battery life (I only managed to find a couple of batteries during the game). You mostly go around, looking and collecting items for puzzles, and keys to unlock doors. It's a first-person adventure game where you freely walk around, and has some slight horror tones, though nothing particularly scary happens (there's two light jump scares and some strange audio cues at points, and the house starts shaking at random intervals, but nothing particularly spooky happens from it).

The physics weren't doing this game any favors. Being able to move and break and open so many things was distracting, considering how few of the items needed to be interacted with.
The inventory system got more cumbersome the further into the game - nothing was discarded after being used.
Worst of all though - the ending was very anticlimactic.

I liked the game and enjoyed playing until I found there were not enough save boxes to play to the end - I tried relaunching and playing from the beginning again but ran out of boxes again - there was no way to remove used items like battery or other used items from the inventory to create more room. Disappointing!

I just can't with this game. It's trying insanely hard to copy Amnesia and failing immensely. It feels terrible to control. I didn't make it very far to learn about this but it seems like it added a bunch of fluff and nonsense to interact with just to confuse you and make the game last longer? And the straw that broke the camel's back, why make the flashlight use batteries?? Utter nonsense. I wouldn't put this game on my account even if it was free

Very short game. It only took me 2 hours to complete. The story was interesting but i think more could be added to make it longer or more engaging. Voice acting was alright, but there is room for improvement. The controls are easy and the game didn't give me motion sickness which is a win.
I do recommend the game for a introduction to adventure games as there is no jump scares or needing to hid from monsters.

Další krátká adventurní jednohubka, jež je podobná hrám Gone Home, What Never Was, nebo Marie's Room. Je dílem nezávislého malého studia ze Španělska, ve kterém pracují lidé, co dříve pracovali na hrách Silent Hill: Origins, F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point, nebo The Witcher. Děj se odehrává někdy v roce 1910 ve městě Candlewood na severovýchodě USA a hrajete v něm za malého chlapce Lestera, jehož někdo unese a zavře do jednoho starého domu. Stejně jako ve výše jmenovaných hrách prolézáte různé pokoje domu, čtete dokumenty, odkrýváte příběh, který za vašim únosem stojí, řešíte jednoduché puzzly, nalézáte klíče k dalším pokojům, až se snad dostanete ven. :)
Dům je celkem rozlehlý a jeho prošmejdění mi zabralo asi 3,5 hodiny. Prostředí je dost tmavé a tak kromě dokumentů, klíčů a dalších předmětů nacházíte i sirky a baterie do baterky, abyste si mohli svítit, nebo zapalovat svíčky. Zemřít nemůžete, jen se sem tam spustí nějaký skript, který vás má polekat. :)
Grafika je na Unity enginu.

Když si v puzzle, kde skládáte natrhané papírky, dáte na plochu všechny části, tak se nemůžete hnout, protože nemáte kam části přesouvat, ani dát nějaký dílek zpět mimo plochu. Nezbývá vám nic jiného, než celé puzzle restartovat.
Nechápu, proč není v nastavení rozlišení i 4k. Maximum je 1920*1200. Skrz nastavení, které se nachází v registrech Windows se přitom dá rozlišení libovolně přepsat.

This is another short horror Walking Sim with puzzles. I use the term "[i]horror[/i]" loosely, as there is no real immersiveness or horror atmosphere. There are just some creepy random sounds as you are walking around, and for some unknown reason the entire house shakes now and then, like a minor earthquake is happening outside.
You are a young boy in the early 1900's. The game starts with a cutscene of you being kidnapped by two guys. Then you wake up in a boy's bedroom in a huge empty mansion. The game plays as usual for this type of game... a lot of running back and forth in a dark environment, collecting items and clues to solve puzzles with. You also collect notes and letters, which give you a shallow concept of a backstory, while you look for a way to escape.
Of course, you do have a flashlight, and have to find batteries for it here and there. However, the batteries run down very very quickly. In fact, they run down so quickly that they are almost worthless, so use the flashlight sparingly. The puzzles are fairly simple... stuff like finding numbers and symbols in photos, connecting electrical wires properly, and putting together torn up pieces of paper notes to reveal what the notes say.
This game does not hold your hand though. There is no real clue as to what you should be doing, or what order you should be doing things in. The graphics are a little below average, and in some rooms the lighting is just too dark. The game has both some trading cards, and five achievements. The achievements can all be earned your first time playing, and after you have completed the game once, there is no replayability.
The game should probably take you 2.5 to 3.5 hours to complete. It depends on your puzzle-solving skills, your pace of exploration, and whether or not you encounter any buggy achievements. Several players have reported that a couple of them are buggy, especially "[b]The Collector[/b]" achievement. I experienced this one myself, but doing a certain sequence a second time fixed it for me, as it seems to for most players who are afflicted by it.
The game has a bug when I try to find the last torn picture to piece together somehow idk how I did it but it's suddenly in my inventory lol. Still a cool game.

It's not bad, and it's not great, it's a good time waster.
Easy achievements, but be aware of a bug in the cellar when you are connecting cables. After you finish the circuit puzzle, wait a second, because, when you press "Back" fast you will be stuck and you won't get the achievement for completing 4 puzzles. Additionally, you will end up stuck because you won't be able to pull the lever.
(Bug can be fixed by connecting the cables again or overcome with another bug where you go through textures. However, you don't get the achievement and you have to start from the beginning.)

Heutzutage bekannt als Meme-Game für Speedruns, wird alleine beim Anblick der Achievements klar, dass House Of Caravan heute auch nur für Meme-Speedruns gespielt wird. Kaum 10% der Spielerschaft hat das zweite Rätsel des Spiels gelöst.
- Die Story ist sehr schwach.
- Es ist oft ziemlich dunkel. Man findet zwar einige Zunderbüchsen und auch ein paar wenige Batterien, aber es ist einfach zu wenig (auch auf 100% Helligkeit). Tipp vom Profi: Lasst die Taschenlampe blinken und nicht durchleuchten, dann kommt ihr mit den paar Batterien auch hin.
- Die Stocksounds von Türschlagen, Holzknarzen und dergleichen werden schnell repetitiv und sind dann auch nicht mehr gruselig.
- Die AI generierte Vorlesestimme ist ziemlich irritierend.
- Einige Rätsel sind sehr irreführend. Zum Beispiel wird in einem Brief von einem Ort gesprochen, an dem Schlüssel untergebracht sind. Dem Spieler wird eine vierstellige Nummer gegeben. Man findet einen Tresor mit der Aufschrift "Keys", also geht man davon aus, dass der Code dazu gehört. Pustekuchen. Auch, wenn der Tresor vier Stellen verlangt, muss man an einen versteckten Tresor, den man dann auch erstmal finden muss.
- Die Musik geht einigermaßen schnell auf die Nerven und wird öde.
- Das Spiel ist mit 60-90 Minuten ziemlich kurz.
- Zu viele Schubladen, die der Spieler zwar öffnen kann, aber nie etwas drin ist. Alle davon natürlich copy-paste. Generell fühlt sich dieses Spiel eher an wie ein Studenten-Projekt für die Uni oder "das erste Spiel, was man je programmiert hat". Asset-Flippey.
+/- Steam Overlay + Achievements. Das Spiel ist einigermaßen einfach auf 100% zu spielen.

House of Caravan is an exploration puzzle game where you are stuck in a mansion and slowly uncover the secrets of your past. The game is slightly eerie and dark but the bulk of the game still strongly emphasises on its puzzle elements. This game really isn't too hard as a generic puzzle game and I had my fun. Recommended.

I got this on pretty significant discount, which is the only way I would recommend it. The inventory is really buggy and so I was unable to finish the very last thing. I TECHNICALLY beat the game, cuz I acquired the last key, but we never got to see/read/hear the outro.
The environment is creepy and atmospheric, which is lovely. There are a number of occasions when an item would fall near you, but no true jump-scares (for those who hate them, fear not!). Most of the game consists of periodically unlocking new areas of this manor, collecting inventory items and written notes for backstory. There are a total of six puzzles in the whole game (two each of three types, with one "rider" puzzle attached to the first instance of one). I had a glitch in which I couldn't use my inventory item on that puzzle and had to quit out of the game and restart, which solved it. You DO have to manage your flashlight battery, which is super annoying. There are lights you can turn on (candles and lanterns), however.
The story was... fine? I don't know how it ends because of the glitch, so I can't say for sure whether they stuck the landing.

The game is subtle with its horror elements but if you're not careful, you may just get jumpscared!
Overall, a fun play, and very cheap too, there are a few bugs when it comes to movement but then can definitely be overlooked. Can you escape the House of Caravan?

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

"House of Caravan" is a fairly basic Unity asset flipped first person horror adventure, one of many hundreds, if not thousands of these glutting Steam. The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, arranged them haphazardly in a first person adventure game template, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
This is an earlier asset flip, from 2015, before Russian asset flippers took over the phenomenon and really made it their own. As such, some effort went into adding the puzzles and so on to the mansion asset that forms the vast majority of the game. Some effort, but not a lot. The puzzles are simple and pointless, tied to a couple of garbage fetching quests, and the whole mess is over in less than 2 hours.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware.
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at 1080p, a very low resolution that became mainstream back in 2006 and became obsolete when 4K entered the mainstream in 2014. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
"House of Caravan" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for solving the second puzzle, trivial to get, but less than 11 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, and isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 11 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who didn't bother engaging with this game? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game.
That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
"House of Caravan" is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

Приятная картинка и неплохая атмосфера, море жутких звуков , разных скрипов.
Очень простенькая- методично дверь за дверью нам предстоит открыть, решая несложные головоломки.
Разработчик сделал внимания на атмосферу!

Esta bueno para pasar el rato, el juego es corto, 1 hora máximo haciendo las cosas bien, para juntar el 100% de los logros unas 3 horas sin usar una guía.

Неплохая бродилка с поиском предметов и решением нескольких головоломок. Есть что то типа сюжета о котором узнаешь из писем, темнота и совсем не пугающие звуки. На разок пройти сойдет, благо стоит копейки а достижения и карточки прилагаются.

good game. pretty straight forward which i liked. going around an old house about a century age, collecting items during a sinister moment. i like the olden day aesthetic. there wasn't anything actually scary during the game play itself but there was eerie vibes. i would recommend pausing (until after the character comments) before going back out of the electronic circuit puzzles so it doesn't bug out & make the leavers jammed. preventing you from getting out.

Ну если так подумать, то данный квест в стиле ужастика, за свои бабки, очень неплох. Где-то 1,5 часов геймплея с сюжетом в виде записок. Моментом вылетают всякие выпердыши, чтоб напугать. Это я говорю про визуальные эффекты. А так по сюжету, вы пацан из другой семьи и ваш биологический батёк, решил вернуть вас в отчий дом вопреки желанию биологической мамани. Ну, а вы в свою очередь вертели всё это семейство Караванов на детородном органе, по этому собираетесь свалить, так как батёк приедет только через день. По этому вы шаритесь по всему дому и ищете предметы, которые помогут вам выбраться.

This game could've been quile nice if there weren't so many bad desicions made with gameplay. [list]
[*]The inventory is abismal to use. You need to scroll through all the items in order to find the one you need. Also, items don't dissapear even if you can't use them anymore.
[*]The controls in the puzzles where you need to assenble letters are extremly bad.
[*]Even though the house is quite big, rooms are not reused. You only reqiure to visit each room once or twice in some cases.

However, none of those things have ruined the game for me. What did ruin it though was a lever bug. Sometimes you will not be able to pull a lever no matter what you do. Just restart the game (or use a save if you knew about it already) and hope that the lever won't be bugged this time. It happend to me at the final lever almost at the end of the game and pissed me off quite a lot. It sucks to replay the entire game because of a bug that was there for years and is still not fixed.

Hierbei handelt es sich um ein atmosphärisches Erkundungsspiel mit ein paar Rätselelementen.
Ich fand es ganz nett gemacht, man ist aber auch schon nach 2 Stunden durch damit.
Ich hab es im Angebot für 79ct bekommen, dafür find ich es ganz gut.
Non è proprio un Horror, è più che altro un Escape room (in questo caso house) con una trama molto basilare ed enigmi con una difficoltà praticamente per tutti.
La parte Horror è più data da un certo livello di suspance che altro. Una suspace che potrebbe non riuscire a pizzicare tutti.
Grafica e sonoro, anch'essi basilari. I comandi sono molto simili a giochi più complessi e differenti.
Semplice e sbrigativo, tuttavia per il costo richiesto (sotto i 2 euro) e per le poche pretese che il gioco ha direi che il voto è comunque positivo.

The game is reminiscent of a slew of spooky indie games of its time like Amnesia, Slender, etc. You walk around a dark, empty mansion searching countless empty drawers and cupboards for the few important items you need to progress through the rest of the house, from combinations for locks, keys to access rooms, or things like a hammer or hairpin to open specific chests. There are a few very, very basic puzzles, such as [spoiler]a tiled "connect pipes/lines together to make a circuit" kind of puzzle and a literal puzzle of piecing together a torn-up letter to read the message[/spoiler].
Discovery of various documents throughout exploration helps to piece together the story of the empty mansion and why the player is there. Despite the darkness and ambient noises like distant footsteps, [spoiler]the player is completely alone and is not being pursued - or at risk of discovery - in any way, unlike something like Amnesia[/spoiler]. There are a couple of jump-scares, but [spoiler]they are otherwise harmless and only meant to keep the player on-edge[/spoiler], feeding into the atmosphere that the game is trying to instill [spoiler]without an actually-present, impending danger[/spoiler]. Some might appreciate this, while others might lose any sense of fright, outright - simplifying the game to the level of a glorified scavenger hunt.
Movement, inventory, etc. is Amnesia-inspired. Matchboxes are not difficult to find - typically, at least one will be nearby any given lamp - so it will be easy to light most lamps. There are only two spare flashlight batteries, but in my one play-through of barely-conservative use of the flashlight, I didn't even use 50% of the one that comes with it, so you'll be fine to use it fairly liberally. [spoiler]Since there is no need for stealth, it's fine to sprint through the house the entire time (which still feels fairly slow)[/spoiler]. The main difficulty of the game is found in accidental missing of some random compartment - out of many - for a necessary item or clue, or discovering the few [spoiler]movable picture frames[/spoiler] or other objects that exist. It might be a good, spooky game for a younger player, though.
The game performs fine, but there are a few quirks. Right-clicking to select through one's items is annoying - easily skipping past the intended item to be used, requiring one to scroll through the list again - but, it's a simple means to an end, at least. Opening a drawer or dropping an item below oneself can send the player into the air a bit. Voiced dialogue (when reading notes) sounds pretty awful, as though some weird modulation is being applied to most of the voices, and it can sound kind of buggy or distorted. It's understandable, at least, but skipping is recommended. I didn't run into any game-breaking bugs, though. Supposedly, there may be an issue where a certain gate may not correctly open for the player, according to some comments that I read, elsewhere, but - if it hasn't already been patched - there's apparently a glitch involving a chair that one may utilize to bypass it.
The story is a little weird, but somewhat intriguing. I suppose that's befitting of the supposed [spoiler]mental states of the Caravans[/spoiler], as you discover through the letters. There's no lesson to be learned or anything. In the end, [spoiler]you escape[/spoiler], and are given a little monologue from the person ultimately responsible [spoiler]for your kidnapping[/spoiler] - delivered as a message, some time later, perhaps - hoping that, despite things, you will carry on [spoiler]his wishes to continue the family name and "do anything for family[/spoiler]." Despite the somewhat-pleading, heartfelt delivery of the ending monologue, I think it should be received as yet-more of [spoiler]his horrible nature or insanity[/spoiler] rather than anything worth sympathy. Considering things this way improved my feelings about the ending, as no sympathy is really deserved of the culprit.
All-in-all, I could see this being a spooky-enough, difficult-enough game for a younger player, perhaps, or otherwise someone who really just enjoys games like this. Some of the hidden things might be overly difficult for very young players, though, to find or figure out. Otherwise, I'd say it's a pass.
One of those games that I would vote mixed. It's interesting, has a nice story. You walk around a lot, has a couple bugs but nothing serious.
Nice atmosphere and decent puzzles. Zero horror though.
I probably won't remember this game in a week from now, but I didn't dislike it.

Не страшная, но атмосферная игра, интересная история, бродилка по локациям, в целом головоломки логичные и простые. Игру можно пройти сразу или разбить на 2 раза.
Печалит баг для получения 1 очивки бабочки нужно поморочиться и знать нюансы.
Советую для разового прохождения.

Pocas veces me he arrepentido de comprar un juego de un euro, pero con ese euro podría haberme comprado unas ruffles de jamón o un nestea o una hamburguesa de un euro del burguer king o un helado de choco o un café calentito. Sin embargo, me compré este juego y, una vez más, confirmé que siempre hay un nivel más abajo del sótano de la decepción.

Not gonna lie, I can't remember what this game is about, I just like to review stuff.
История показалась интересной, в ожидании разгадки и скримеров решил пройти игру по-честному, без подсказок. Заключительная часть игры не дожидаясь финала открывает нам банальную завесу тайны, скримеров практически нет. Тем не менее, о прохождении House of Caravan нисколько не жалею - время пролетело незаметно (несмотря на раздражающую медлительность гг). Игра/история стоит своих малых денег, но только если Вы не заботитесь о работающих достижениях! - после первого прохождения оказалось что я нашел не все предметы, решил обратиться к руководству и добить ачивку, обшарив весь дом и найдя ещё пару ранее не найденных вещей я столкнулся с ситуацией невозможности дальнейшего прохождения из-за неактивной электрической головоломки на стене около склепа (при том, что мной была начата абсолютно новая игра!).
Тем не менее оставлю игре положительный отзыв - цена игры просто смешная, собирать записки и решать головоломки было интересно, русский язык присутствует, все ачивки, судя по статистике, получить более чем реально, видимо мне просто не повезло при втором прохождении.
