Unforseen Incidents hat mich gleich in mehrere Hinsicht positiv überrascht. Die Hintergründe und die Figuren heben sich von ihrem Zeichenstil her deutlich von anderen Point-and-Click-Adventures ab. Visuell eine helle Freude, die von der Tonspur und der großartigen Synchronisation unterstützt wird. Das alles trägt sehr gut zur Atmosphäre bei und unterstützt das Storytelling. Der Protagonist und die Rätsel sind erfrischend anders, dazu kommt eine ausgewogene Balance zwischen Humor und Spannung. Das Spiel läuft sehr flüssig und ist insgesamt schlüssig. Hoffentlich gibt es bald ein neues Spiel von Backwoods Entertainment!

Unfortunately the game seems to be quite buggy. In the first chapter the game corrupted the save file, so that you can not interact with the mouse again and are stuck in the current view of the level. Since there are no frequent auto-saves basically an hour of playtime is lost, which does not make me want to continue the game.

I enjoyed playing this game! Funky little art style that complemented the humor. Lovely musical score that did so much heavy lifting in setting the correct mood.

Would have loved to go maybe one layer deeper with all the NPCs -- they felt like they were there to serve their purpose and that's it. With the story line being what it is, I felt it was a missed opportunity to use some of that great dialogue to support the impact of the conspiracy bubbling beneath the surface. Especially in the initial area, Yelltown -- I wanted my heart to break during the Act 1 reveal, but we didn't develop enough of a connection with the NPCs for that to happen. I felt bad for them, but there was room to make me feel devastated.

The ending felt a little rushed, but I think you stuck the landing (albeit with a little wobble).

Fun puzzles and I only got stuck twice, because I didn't realize you could examine/comment on object in the inventory (there are a couple areas where this locks you from moving forward until you get Harper to look at the item and say what he needs to say about it, even if it's obvious where to use it next).

All in all, I really liked this game. And it was oddly prescient considering the year it was released. Definitely recommend.

Great game! Enjoyed it thoroughly! Loved the characters and the plot. The art style is awesome, and I really vibed with the lore and worldbuilding in general. The voice actors did an amazing job too! Personally, I found the puzzles weren't too hard but also not too easy. What I enjoyed most about the game is probably the soundtrack itself—it fit so well with the world and plot. Apart from a few visual glitches and lines where the voiceovers were not triggered, I didn't run into any issues. The only thing I found a little strange was that the ending felt a little rushed compared to the previous chapters. There are also a few loose ends that I wish they tied together, but overall this game has earned a soft spot in my heart! I highly recommend it. :)

This game is not that interesting, but if you're a fan of classic point and click adventure games like the Monkey Island series, then it's worth a playthrough. It's not super hard, but also probably not super friendly to newcomers of the genre (i.e., not like The Drifter, which was way too easy).

The puzzles in this game are medium-level difficulty for an adventure game. I was never really stuck for very long.

As far as adventure games go, the storyline is okay. The characters and VA are okay. The main character is so mid - you don't feel anything towards him. Also the dialogue is not funny. So being not funny + not interesting storyline and mid puzzles make for a super-mid game.

I finished it b/c I love adventure games. And also maybe takes place in Canada (?), which is a plus in my books. The art and environments are pretty nice, easy on the eyes, but not necessarily amazing.

The game is kinda janky, it lags a lot at times, especially after it's been running for a while. I feel like it's not optimized properly. It does not have cloud saves, which is annoying if you switch computers frequently. Luckily you can jump to chapters, so it's good enough to continue and/or achievement hunt.

The achievements are okay, there are some missables, which require a bit of replay, but nothing crazy.

I loved the story, the characters, and animation style of this game and I would love another game with a continuation of the main characters on another adventure or investigation. The voice acting was also really above par.
My only note would be that it is frustrating that you can't (or at least i couldn't figure out how to) pause the game while it's in the middle of a dialogue tree or an npc character speech. This meant that if I got suddenly pulled away from my computer or distracted for a moment there was no easy pause and I would miss the conversation or speech, and was unable to replay it unless I wanted to start the entire game chapter all over again, which I of course did not. While this didn't make or break any gameplay, as someone who was enjoying the actual story plot it was a little frustrating.

Overall, I had a good time with this game. It did a lot of things I liked! I loved a lot of the characters, the voice acting, the art, and small, personal moments in the story.

A few small things that bothered me:
- There was a bug where ~40% of the time, the first line of dialogue in a conversation wouldn't play the voice line.
- Without getting into spoilers, there are a few very large plot things that happen to the main character that are a bit glossed over in his reactions to them and mood of the game onwards. I get that it would have really tanked the tone of the game to have him react more realistically, but the writing did make him feel flippant and unreal to me.
- The plot can be a bit reliant on twists to bridge the sections it wants to explore.

Если коротко - игру можно рекомендовать только самым ревностным фанатам жанра поинт-н-клик адвенчуры. Всем остальным можно спокойно проходить мимо.

Довольно заурядное "клиключение". Сюжет стандартный для жанра: "лузер спасает мир" (конкретно здесь - маленький заштатный городишко) - из разряда тех, что через пару месяцев полностью забудется.

Герои невыразительные, набор стандартный - лузер с плоскими шуточками, строгая деловая девица, фанатик-доктор, злодей с приспешниками (в данном случае приспешников одна штука ровно). Из них тоже вряд ли кто запомнится надолго - это вам не Руфус, не Гайбраш Трипвуд, или, скажем, Кейт Уолкер. Я вот закончил играть пару дней назад, и уже не помню имён никого из героев :)

Инвентарём пользоваться неудобно (возьми и потяни). В остальном, всё как обычно.

Короче, проходнячок.

3/5. Not a bad little game. The plot certainly isn't unique, but I liked the doofus handyman MC. Puzzles are easy but fun and pretty straightforward - they never use nonsensical solutions (which some people like, some people hate). I ran into some bugs, one game-breaking. Don't rely on autosave. Save at least every chapter or major development.

I love the atmosphere of this game ,as well as the feelings of being unforeseen,unpredictable,intense,mysterious.

The puzzles are easy and creative,whats interesting is that the rigid yet elastic puzzle-solving with intense story,the puzzles are tightly combined with the fragmented narrative, it creates an immersive narrative.

And I love this kind of hand-drawn art style. Maybe classic hand-drawn style 2d games would show unique performance in the future agi era,it carry individual spirit ,with the mind from real human souls ,that means the sincere and meticulous emotions from the heart will establish real connection.

GAME: Solid and funny adventure title. Memorable characters, super cool artstyle, and nice atmospheric soundtrack. Story itself was only so-so for me personally (a little generic and predictable), but I did enjoy the different locations you go to and interactions. Puzzles were pretty fun to figure out, though I did have to consult a walkthrough a couple times.

**ISSUES**: Unfortunately I also did encounter several bugs while playing (cursor issues, progression/cutscene not triggering) and the only solution I found was to switch to a different save file. Therefore I HIGHLY recommend creating many different saves in your playthrough. And if you play on an ultra-wide, you WILL need to switch the resolution to a regular 16:9 ratio (important aspects will get cut off in ultrawide). There are no resolution settings in-game, instead hold "alt" key while launching the game from steam, and that will bring up a popup to let you change the resolution.

This would be a good game but everything your character does is negated at the end of each chapter by some silly plot contrivance. It's very frustrating and just doesn't make the game feel satisfying at all. I do think the puzzles are good and logical, just not enough to overcome the lack of feeling of progress.

I'd recommend it, but if I were to rate it I'd give it a 7/10. The story itself was very intriguing, and I quite enjoyed most of the puzzles. There were some parts that had me scratching my head at how I'm meant to solve them, and I did have to refer to a walkthrough once or twice because certain solutions just did not seem to be the logical choice, but I feel most games in the point n click genre tend to do that. There were a couple glitches like certain items not leaving your inventory after you had used it, but those small bits were pretty negligible in terms of my enjoyment of the game. The thing that I dislike most is that the ending was pretty disappointing. There was this whole exciting, intriguing build-up all throughout the game, and the reveal and climax were awesome! But then when it came time for the wrap-up... it just did not feel like any of the story had really paid off.

Overall, this was a pretty fun adventure game! Maybe not at the top of my list for point n click games, but it certainly was an enjoyable experience.

并不是一个一无是处的游戏，我特别喜欢每一章开头的新闻广播过场，游戏配音确实出色，不仅是角色全配音，比如书本翻页、烧开水、开窗、开车等等的都有音效。角色、美术和配乐其实都是加分项，剧情合格线之上，但在没有翻译的加持下，糟糕的游戏交互和过于折腾的跑腿、解谜实在太消磨游戏热情了。

游戏背景是城市突然爆发神秘病毒疫情，防疫公司呼吁大家互相警惕，遇到可能患病的人就及时打电话送入研究所隔离。游戏中虽然这个传染病让人人心惶惶，到处是穿着防疫服的黄衣人，但也正巧有一场盛大的球赛直播正在进行中，主角在路上遇到了一个病倒在地的女人，她阻止了主角试图救助打电话还塞给他一封信交给某个记者，这封信也将引导他和女记者一起追寻整个城镇疫情的真相与出路。游戏倒是在新冠疫情之前出的，但面对游戏中一些讽刺和描述还是感觉微妙地搞笑。

后期涉及什么商战阴谋论那些实在太老套了，解谜体验更加差，有非常多意图明显的跨地图跑腿任务，且每个机密关卡对道具要求非常严苛，说好听点这是所有道具都有用处，但反过来说意味着如果你之前错过了某个关键工具（比如前期你翻垃圾桶捡一对被丢弃的丝袜）没拿或者卡BUG了，那除非你重新跑回去拿（很大可能是你甚至不知道缺了什么在哪拿）整个游戏就无法进行了。最无语的是男主自带的多功能工具操作起来很麻烦，时常卡顿不说每次使用还需要选用哪种功能；后期还出现某个关卡解锁密码提示词甚至是不限字数输入一种“羞辱的话”，完全靠词汇量硬猜，不看攻略一辈子想不出来。

总之在这种解谜推进剧情步步为营又没有代入感，且结局单一的游戏，真好奇故事还不如云算了。

A fun point and click puzzle game with an interesting story!! The puzzles aren't linear, so I found myself getting stuck at times but that's a minor bump in the road. I enjoyed all of the voice acting in the game, and all the personalities of the characters. Harper Pendrell makes for a funny protag, and I enjoyed his resourcefulness being linked to just being a simple handyman. The art style and the soundtrack also enhanced the overall gameplay!

i enjoyed it but ashamed to admit i used a walk through for some thing. i don't think i'll ever understand how to do computer code. point click game, puzzles are fairly easy. story was so fitting considering the release date but i didn't know about it till now. sarcastic humor right up my alley. some things were a bit confusing as how would someone get to that logical conclusion to progress through the story but still a worthwhile game. now would i pay $20? no, nor did i. i paid about half that. and that to me is what it is worth. get it at about 12 or under and you won't be disappointed.

我玩完了3年還是4年前買的遊戲<Unforeseen Incidents>，久到我都忘記是什麼時候買的，當時玩因為對話都像歐美漫畫一樣，所有的字都是大寫，本來英文就差，閱讀起來就更費勁，無法享受遊戲樂趣，今年剛好買了一年份的ai漢化軟件，雖然有時候ai翻譯很怪，但大致上意思還行，故事挺有趣，每一章節最後都會留一個驚險的衝突或未知事件，每一章節開頭都有電台廣播，男主性格很有趣，配音員會把男主開玩笑等幽默怪聲配出來，男主應該沒上過大學，書本讀不進去，除了修理手冊哈哈哈，他對機械非常感興趣，開頭醒來，地上有一堆看似廢鐵，就是被男主拆了裝不回去的東西，所以劇情裡就順理成章讓男主去找東西或修理東西，謎題有些有難度，看了好幾次攻略，但大部分能靠自己解開。
很喜歡遊戲的美術風格。

很喜歡遊戲標題畫面是大雨+公路。

角色都有配音太好了。

看了遊戲發行是2018年，當時新冠疫情還沒出現，這遊戲就以一個可怕高傳染發燒咳嗽等可怕疾病作為開頭，男主住在一個偏鄉的小鎮，鎮上到處貼著防疫公司的海報，開頭從遇到一個病發倒在路邊的女人開始，他要主角把一封信交給記者，男主費了好一把勁才找到記者，他們一起追查事件，結果看到是那些號稱防疫公司的人把病毒散布出去，男主小鎮的人大概都沒了，從這裡開始追查，這個防疫公司其實是空頭公司，背後在第二章引出了邪教，boss在第一章開頭報紙上出現，劇情大體很有意思，我已經很久沒有完整玩完一個遊戲，上一個是水銀療養院。

There's much to like about this game, but despite that there's something in each aspect of it executed poorly which puts a shade on overall experience.
Art of surrounding landscapes and scenery is done wonderfully, but characters and their animations are rather poor and end up looking goofy, to the point of making an emotional ending seem rather silly.
In my case each transition between levels took what felt like 10 seconds of pure pitch black screen, which becomes a nuisance once you have backtrack several times over. Each time you would use an item in your inventory it would lag for few second. Using item itself on surroundings felt like having to roll a huge ball of steel into a hole that was obstructed by ball itself.
Story was nice and managed to make me invested, with each chapter having a nice pace until the last one. Last chapter felt like it was rushed and plot just crumbled to unsatisfying conclusion.
Overall I enjoyed majority of the game, but wouldn't recommend buying it unless it's on a huge sale and you are willing to overlook lack of polishing.

The art of the game is wonderful and that's what caught my attention. When playing it you notice that the animations are horrible but you don't give it importance because it's interesting and entertaining but the UI is a disaster. Unintuitive and the inventory is horribly messy to the point that makes it unplayable. With a lot of effort I was able to play 2 chapters and in the third everything was so disastrously unplayable that I had to leave it. Not recommended and sadly I regret having bought it.

Linux: Ran without issue.

A decent P&C that's bogged down by some illogical puzzles but lifted up by excellent voice acting. The game also features dozens of items that don't vanish after using and you have to scroll to see them all (including the maps which you need for travel). Lastly, the game ended up being a bit too long for it's own good, but I still enjoyed my time with it.

Very nice. Like a less annoying version of the Monkey Island. Characters make jokes, but it doesn't slow down the plot. Puzzles make sense, both to the player and in the game world, and some of them require some thought and can't be solved by applying all your inventory objects to all the places. Probably the best 3rd person adventure I've played.

A fun point and click game. Most of the puzzles make sense (chapter 3 is the most guilty of "adventure game logic" in my opinion) and the characters are super likable (except the ones who aren't supposed to be). The art style is great too.
I encountered a few small visual/audio glitches, but nothing that got in the way of the game.

I'll give it a thumbs up, but a 7 out of 10 thumbs up unfortunately. First off, just great to see any sort of well put together point and click adventure these days! So thank you for that. Great sketch based art which are filled out very nicely with digital paint. There is definitely an odd amout of jank sprinkled alllllll over this thing, lots of little glitches and quirks that seem like they would be pretty easy to smooth out. Then comes the trajectory of the the puzzles/stories/areas, which all go very much downhill from beginning to end. The final chapter is wildly linear and offers an ending that does bring some closure, but is truly just slapped together. Didn't need a walk through, although a few times I had to spend a few hours grinding to find the tiny little event/bit of info that would keep this thing moving along. It does have the very popular, dumb guy getting yelled at constantly by disgruntled women, which seems to be simmering throughout the entire genre, so if that bothers you this may not be your cup of tea.. though I'm guessing many will be oh so pleased as always... All in all if you're a fan of the genre, give it a try and support of developer, if you're on the fence, most definitely wait for a sale!

It's a good Point and Click. The story is not the best in the world but it's ok to follow. Many locations, many characters and tons of puzzles. A mix between Pendulo and Daedelic. The developers did a good job with this one because this kind of game tends do disappear on the market after 2015. The story is interesting. It has very hard computer puzzles games (passwords), doors, and hacking puzzles which need a guide and a walkthrough. I recommend this game. I would give it 8.5/10. It is rather long (around 5 hours with a guide and skipping some dialogs). Really happy I could play this game. I am sad that this studio seems to focus on other kind of games and not Pure Point and Clics any longer. So one of the best in my list.

While I can't deny that this game is artisticly well made, it has some flaws which made the experience overall negative for me.
The biggest pros are quite good voice acting and decent art style, it can help you get through to the end.
I'm neutral on the puzzles and overall plot. Nothing groundbreaking, some puzzles in typical point-and-click fashion are somewhat convoluted and a bit out of the box (or illogical, depending on your perspective).
What I hated was the UI/UX. Changing a scene meant a couple seconds of black screen, while the next scene loaded. Opening a multi-tool (and some other items) froze the game for a second EVERY TIME. For a game where the multi-tool is the most used item this is unacceptable for me. Moreover, the inventory was too small to display every item at once sometimes, which meant combining two items could also be a pain if they were too far apart.
I completed the game for completions sake, and will happily forget about it.

Decent enough point and click adventure game. I enjoyed my time for the most part, but no aspect of Unforeseen Incidents was groundbreaking. Obviously made by a small team, so there are a lot of unpolished aspects. Examples include: Lack of settings you’d normally find in a modern PC game, A shallow and non immersive dialogue system, odd performance issues, and the occasional bugged clickable. I personally didn’t dig the art style, it’s a mix of beautiful environments and amateurish flash animated cartoon people. The story wasn’t super deep, but was paced well enough, if not a bit slow. Most of the puzzles made logical sense, and the game was really generous with clues. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to someone who LOVES point and click games, and has exhausted more known/popular options.

Unforeseen Incidents nous propose une aventure à l’ancienne avec un jeu de style point & click qui fera plaisir aux nostalgiques. Les puzzles seront intéressants et logiques, le jeu demande de réfléchir, de combiner des objets et de bien écouter les dialogues.

On ne ferait pas un bon point & click sans une histoire palpitante. Sur ce point, le jeu s’en sort avec la moyenne. Le scénario, mêlant épidémie mystérieuse, complot à grande échelle et secte de fanatiques, est agréable à suivre bien que les quelques twists soient attendus et ne viennent pas réellement nous surprendre. La touche d’humour dans les dialogues et le côté décalé que prend notre personnage apporte une légèreté bienvenue malgré des thèmes somme toute assez lourds.

Le titre jouit d’une jolie direction artistique avec des dessins réalisés à la main d’une patte reconnaissable. Il a ainsi sa propre identité et c’est son atout le plus marqué. Aussi, Unforeseen Incidents s’offre des doublages en anglais de bonne qualité, participant à l’immersion. On pourra regretter qu’un délai parfois trop important vient souvent s'intercaler entre deux répliques, rendant le dialogue robotique.

Sur Steam Deck, pensez à installer la configuration de touches “point & click” de la communauté, permettant d’utiliser le pavé tactile et de cliquer avec la gâchette. Les contrôles de base ne sont ni agréables ni adaptés à un jeu sur console portable. Attention aussi à un bug qui peut être très embêtant, j’ai par deux fois eu mon curseur qui restait sous forme de croix et ne me permettait plus de cliquer nulle part. La première fois, j’ai pu recharger une partie. La seconde, je venais malheureusement de sauvegarder lorsque le bug est survenu. Je ne saurai expliquer réellement ce qui m’a débloqué mais j’ai persisté pendant un temps à essayer de me dépatouiller de cette situation. Il aurait fallu recommencer le jeu si je n’y parvenais pas, aïe.

Unforeseen Incidents n’est pas un jeu marquant ou qui s’illustre avec un scénario de dingue. Non. Néanmoins, suivre l’enquête est intéressant, les puzzles ponctuent bien l’aventure et les dessins soignés suffisent à nous accrocher. C’est une bonne pioche pour les fondus du genre.

Геймплей не очень продуман:
- Казалось бы инвентарь в игре такого жанра должен быть отточен на 100%, но по итогу получаются такие проблемы:
-- Инвентарь очень неудобно листать, либо игра вообще отказывается пролистывать его
-- Вложенные предметы это отдельная попа-боль. Иногда ты нормально их возьмешь, но зачастую они либо не будут браться просто потому что, либо вложенность будет закрываться на приколе.
- Нет экрана заданий, т.е когда ты пару дней не поиграл в игру и забываешь что там была, то становится сложно
- В последней главе крашей, лагов и затупов персонажей было на каждом ходу. Видимо у разрабов закончились деньги или всё желание работы надо проектом.

Сюжет. Начали за здравие, закончили за упокой:
- Если в начале было в целом интересно, то в конце разрабы сделали самый бессмысленный твист сюжета, где персонаж переобувается на 180 без причины.

Не советую тратить деньги и время на игру.

I loved the style of this game. It's quirky with a Twin Peaks vibe (and some very obvious references). I found the protagonist endearing.
Some downsides were the slow loading screens and the general slowness of movement. Some of the puzzles required me to use my irl notebook, as while I could look at my inventory on puzzle screens it was clunky and overall it was quicker just to write down numbers and codes.
The ending was a tad disappointing, but I suppose it's realistic.

I could not get past making the fire. Too many inventory items made it impossible to link the necessary items to make the fire. No way to delete unwanted inventory items. Very clunky way of linking objects to solve puzzles. A lot of time spent on youtube only to witness others experiencing the same problem i.e. people trying the same thing over and over again until it worked.

The game has some solid elements, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully click with me.

On the positive side, the puzzles have a decent level of challenge, and the voice acting is well done. I also appreciate the effort put into making a point-and-click adventure, a genre that is certainly not easy to create in today’s gaming landscape. However, the game's performance was an issue for me – the longer I played, the more frequent the stuttering became, often requiring a restart. The story felt fairly average, and the art style wasn’t quite to my taste. Not to mention the comedic humor and the protagonist’s "jokes", which I’m really not a fan of.

Overall, I respect the effort behind this game and can see its appeal to others. If Steam had a neutral rating option, that’s what I would go for

Am Anfang war ich etwas skeptisch, aber Harper als Held des Spielt, der Humor, der Soundtrack und das Design sind einfach super!

Einige Rätsel sind etwas knifflig und man muss öfter darauf achten, in welcher Reihenfolge man die Aufgaben löst um weiter zu kommen, aber vielleicht bin ich da einfach nur wie Harper und etwas langsamer.

So there's a little Noir as well. Beautifully drawn.
Controls are a little flakey and I had to use a walkthrough more than I should have.
Bunch of pretty funny jokes in there (extra compliment since the makers seem to be German, and since I'm Dutch: That's a nice bike you gave Helliwel ;))

Anyway, I had fun with it. I hope these guys keep making more!

I found this to be an enjoyable P&C Adventure.
The graphics, sound and mechanics were nice.
Story and pacing had some issues but enjoyable none the less.
I did however encounter a bug or two and was forced to play with different resolution setting than normal to get the game graphics to work properly.

This game starts out really strong. Cool concept, decent voice acting, real-life logic-based puzzles. After around 7 hours of gameplay, I’ve decided to put Unforeseen Incidents aside. The current puzzle has drained my last bit of motivation, which I had barely managed to maintain up to this point. However, let me start with the positive aspects:

Positive Aspects:

- Good voice acting (in my case, the German version), which is pleasant to listen to.
- Fitting and high-quality music that complements the scenarios well.
- Atmosphere, which has been engaging so far.
- Creative and humorous remarks from the protagonist, which occasionally brought a smile to my face.

Negative Aspects:

- The story feels flat, lacking compelling twists or exciting developments.
- The characters feel one-dimensional, as they lack depth and are only superficially integrated into the story.
- Overloaded inventory: The subcategories (e.g., sub-tools, herbs, stones, etc.) are cumbersome to navigate. On top of that, my inventory frequently freezes or stutters whenever I interact with it or move items around, which is frustrating.
- Puzzle design is inconsistent: While some puzzles are fun, others are annoying or unbalanced. A more cohesive approach would have been welcome.
- The design takes some getting used to, but overall, it’s acceptable. However, the graphics quality drops significantly when the camera zooms in on characters during dialogues. This somewhat detracts from the overall impression.

In conclusion, while I see potential in the game, the frustrations caused by these issues outweigh the positives for me. It’s a shame because with deeper character integration, a more polished inventory system, and better-balanced puzzles, the game could have delivered so much more.

MAJOR WARNING: The game has some pretty bad audio mixing, and some noises are DAMN LOUD SO PLEASE WATCH YOURSELVES, HEADPHONE USERS. ALSO!!! NEVER CHECK THE CHALKBOARD IN THE LAB, IT WILL ONLY GIVE YOU NAILS ON CHALKBOARD NOISES, no joke.

That aside, it was a lovely game with phenomenal voice acting that really made me wish there was an in-game volume slider. I loved the story and although some things to serve to be tweaked/fixed (like certain spots aren't accurately marked) it didn't deter me from finishing the game. I recommend it, with a STRONG EMPHASIS on the sound warning.
