This is a lovely game. But if you think having to go to each checkpoint with each character individually is too repetetive (checkpoints being unlocked for all characters would break the games story and progression) DO NOT get this game.
Now if you can handle a little backtracking the game (even if the story is a little forgettable) is pretty great and a good experience.
I do have to condemn Rain studios for not including the (in my opinion) BEST songs in the soundtrack, but that is just a minor complaint

This game truly surprised me! I am always on the lookout for great Zelda-likes, but somehow this one escaped me. I ended up playing on the Switch 2, 8 years after its initial release. What an amazing adventure! Very funny dialogue, great world to explore, unique puzzle mechanics in which you control 4 characters but just one at a time and can only switch between them in preselected spots. Also, just when I thought the game was probably close to its end (reached the last chapter), it turned out this was just the beginning of the actual adventure! The last chapter is open world and much bigger than all the other chapters together.

One of the earliest games that I have played on steam, its a lot zelda like and it have a lot of different senarios and stories that you can play with. My problem with this game is that it simply isn't fun for me. There are times where certain characters are blocked off from certain events and you get to stuck playing with that character for a long time. Its fun to see different synergy on how to use different character to break puzzles but still...... I just can't pick up the game and play again like I used to when I first started.

It's kind of a 3-D metroidvania, but you control 4 different people in four different regions of the map, and they each have different skills to gain access for the others you control. Problem is the game is very glitchy. It crashed a few times and got soft locked others. Combat is good. But the puzzle solving is not intuitive, and you have to backtrack a lot. I think I stopped because there was one collectible I couldn't get and became impossible to get after a certain point in the story, and that just dishearted me.

This is a metroidvania, where you control 4 characters with different skills each. The gameplay and music are the highlight of the game. The story is entirely forgettable, but at least it doesn't take itself seriously and is sometimes funny. And the characters are colourful.

Achievements are getting collectibles, which there is an in-game locator for.

I enjoyed World to the West, though it isn't perfect.

It is a game about traversal puzzles. Each of the four characters have differing abilities and the game is all about getting each character to specific points on the map. This aspect of the game is excellent, though you have to have a good tolerance for a lot of backtracking. Thankfully the map isn't that big and there are warp points.

The puzzling aspect of the game is the main focus, which is good, because the combat kinda sucks. Not that you do a ton of fighting but the controls aren't that refined for a lot of fun.

I never found myself itching to play World to the West while I was away from it, but once I booted it up I was hooked for hours. It isn't too hard, though I found myself scratching my head several times but never in frustration. The bosses are fairly easy, though this is good because of the crappy combat.

The pacing of the game is also a bit of a weak point. You spend eight of the nine chapters in somewhat of a tutorial mode before you are finally let loose in the final chapter. Given all the secrets and collectables, this can make the final chapter quite a bit longer than the other chapters. I didn't feel the need to get many of the collectables before reaching the end of the game and it felt like everything came together in a bit of a rush, though I think I'd had my fill of the game at that point anyhow.

With strong writing, nice visuals, and an excellent soundtrack, I think I'd recommend this one. Think of Lost Vikings as an RPG and you'll get the idea. It might be too slow paced for action fans, but those who like a bit of a thinker, I suspect you'll have some fun with this one.

I'm definitely going to check out Rain Games other offerings after playing World to the West.

Cute and Enjoyable game, somewhat in the vein of Rare games (but with less collectables). Has a pretty varied cast of characters with equally varied talents, though not every character is equal (Ironically the Strongman becomes the weakest character quickly, being rather slow and unwieldy while not having many unique use-cases).

For fans of Teslagrad, though this game does have connections with Teslagrad 1 and 2 through Lumina, this game does strike a different tone and seems geared to be friendly towards younger audiences, so keep in mind that, comparatively, this game is a good deal easier.

The weakest points of this game are probably its control scheme, which can be pretty inaccurate, especially using ranged abilities, and the fact that you do have to individually control each character, often one at a time.
The latter often means a lot of "backtracking" where you have to move each character in between fast-travel points, but on the upside this fact is used pretty effectively narratively where often characters move in and out of the story. I definitely think this could have been changed to Donkey Kong Country scheme where each character automatically follows the one the player controls near the end of the game though, just to make your life easier.

Ultimately, I don't think these cons ruin the game at all though, more that they're points that should be improved upon if this game were to ever have a sequel or remake.

What's fun in the World to the West is, each character has their own abilities to solve puzzles by switching between 4 characters and what I liked that I could play the same map several times for each character and try to figure out what the character that could solve the puzzles at this map, reminds me of a puzzles in a game series called "Wild Arms" so I enjoyed it a lot!

I like how simple yet fun the game is, the world is colorful and cheerful and the dialogs are simple and interesting, The ost are so beautiful, I couldn't forget them and come back to listen to them again.

I love this cute game so much! so glad I discovered it <3

I like this adventure puzzler for the most part. But one extremely annoying thing is that I have to visit a teleport totem with each character to be able to teleport there. It just doesn't make sense and makes the game quite tedious. Give it a go if you have a weekend to spare.

Como decirlo sin parecer que me contradigo vasto...

No es mal juego, sigue un poco la historia de Teslagrad y juraría que es precuela de Teslagrad 2.

Pero esta bastante mal pensado en la mayoría de cosas que mete o no tienen sentido.
Me das 4 personajes que sólo se diferencian en un poder para tener que llevarlos al mismo lado por el mismo camino, lo que hace que al final se sientan desaprovechados y el camino simple tedio... Los controles de 8 direcciones y el combate la mayoría de las veces es incompatible, porque hace que golpear ciertos enemigos frustre al ver que los tienes delante y por estar a un píxel no los das pero ellos a ti si... Las cartas no sirven para nada y dan bastante asco de obtener (basta con que miréis el porcentaje de los logros, nadie casi las quiere). Y los bosses son más fáciles que los enemigos base, ya que algunos te acorralan y atacan sin descanso, haciendo que escapar a veces sea 'difícil'; ya no contemos los dos bosses finales...

En definitiva, creo que esta todo bastante mal pensado, pero puede disfrutar bastante, y si no vas a por las cartas vas a ganar en salud mental.
¿Tras 8 horas lo recomiendo? Con una rebaja si, pero una vez y no más por desgracia.

i found this game to be tedious and boring. the difficulty and most puzzles are based upon using 4 different characters and their skills to traverse the map. aside from a few outliers, the solutions were not very hard, just time consuming. the worst part- if you made it to a warp point with one character, you still have to traverse it again with the other three for no good reason.

i didn't have fun completing the game and felt like it was designed just to waste my time, so unfortunately i have to give this a not recommended.

La historia sigue a cuatro personajes únicos: Lumina, Knaus, Miss Teri y Lord Clonington, cada uno con habilidades y motivaciones propias. El argumento es simplón y no sorprende pero no por ello menos atractivo dado que es bastante simpático. A lo largo de todo el gameplay, podés ir cambiando de uno a otro para resolver los acertijos de diferentes maneras. Sin embargo, se hace algo tedioso el cambio dado que solo se puede hacer en determinados lugares, obligandote a volver por zonas visitadas.

La jugabilidad se basa en la exploración, el combate y la resolución de acertijos. Conforme avanzas, descubrirás áreas ocultas, secretos y tesoros que te recompensarán con mejoras y coleccionables. En términos de historia, también encontrarás nuevas habilidades que te permitirán llegar a otras zonas que antaño no podías, algo que puede recordar mucho a sagas como Zelda.

El estilo visual es rico, con diversos detalles pero manteniendo cierta suavidad en los colores. Los modelos son agradables y los entornos están llenos de vida. Hay diferentes biomas para explorar, lo que aportan un poco de variedad, y eso sin mencionar del buen número de coleccionables. En cuanto a la música amalgama muy bien con el estilo y tiene algunas melodías pegajosas.

En general, [b]World to the West[/b] es muy ameno pero no por ello carente de algunos defectos. Afortunadamente es posible encontrarlo con descuentos de hasta 80% aunque no es frecuente. For the first 15 minutes I was ready to uninstall. There's very little tutorial. After I understood what was going on, I really enjoyed it. There were some frustrating parts, like trying to get one character to an area you've already been to with the other 3. Some of the boss fights aren't very intuitive. Otherwise it's a really enjoyable puzzle game, and fun to figure out the different solutions to each area.

This game is an action-adventure in the world of Teslagrad (which is one terrific game), supposedly a decade or two after its events. The four player characters end up on the [strike]American[/strike] unnamed continent of the New World, each with their own abilities and goals, all of them getting tangled into the consequences of the natives' mess that they haven't bothered cleaning up [i]for some reason[/i], which some rich brainlet is trying to use [strike]for profit[/strike] to kill himself along with whoever happens to be in the area (also [i]for some reason[/i]).

The core gameplay is pretty solid, and the fact that the same areas need to be traversed differently by different characters is refreshing; so I'm giving this one an OK. Still, the game is not without its faults, though none of them are really significant.

Just like in Teslagrad, the plot (or rather, the backstory) is conveyed by collecting hidden scrolls, some trickier to get than others. Unlike Teslagrad, this backstory has nothing to do with any of the player characters nor the villain, and the conflict is conveyed perfectly without them (as this game has proper dialogue). Moreover, since all achievements are tied to these scrolls (one for each), none of the optional challenges (such as collecting all health upgrades, or finishing the side-quest of becoming the local boxing champion) are reflected in achievements, making them mostly useless.

Also, collecting every scroll allows you to unlock an upgrade for every player character… but they're pretty much useless because at that point you're basically at the end of the game (well, one of them makes it easier to beat the second challenge at the obstacle race, but it's doable even without it).

Even though money can be looted from various hidden chests, as well as (often) looted from monsters and even some flowers, and even as a reward for the few optional challenges, there's exactly [i]one[/i] time when you actually need it (to buy a ticket); aside from that, the only use is to buy locations of scrolls and health upgrades marked on your map. (…You can also pay the musicians to play a different song, but that's hardly useful.)

By default, controller controls binds no controller buttons whatsoever even if you plug in a controller like the Xbox One Controller before starting the game. The game's controls aren't very keyboard friendly either. The game also foists multiple characters onto the player in quick succession. While it does subtly teach you the game's mechanics, some of the stealth sections are annoying, I nearly had trouble in Chapter II as a result.

If you like Zelda games, you will like this one.

Had this game on my favorites list for about 4-5 years and I never got round to play it. I was looking for something casual I could play while watching TV with the family.. Figured I'd give this a shot finally and wow.. I love everything about it. The story is great, the art style is beautiful and the music is charming.

You control 4 individual characters which all have very specific abilities. You can only switch between those characters at totems. You cannot fast travel between totems unless each character has visited that totem.. Which means if you push one character ahead for 30 mins, you're going to have to do it with 2, 3 and 4th characters too.. But each one has to find their own unique way to navigating the map and puzzles.

I had forgotten how fun these little puzzle RPG style games are. From reading reviews on media sites, a lot of journalists thing the back and forth gameplay is fustrating where as I actually enjoyed the challenge or remembering where everything was and which direction is which.

If you like light hearted puzzle RPGs then this is the one for you.

This is really disappointing. Not just after how great Teslagrad was, but on its own merits or lack thereof. The game advertises itself as a Cookie and Cream style thing where you switch between characters so they can assist each other in advancing, but it's more like Donkey Kong 64 where you're just playing the same area four times in a vacuum with minimal impact on each other. Most chapters you don't even have control of more than one character, and only the final chapter lets you use all four at all.

You're only allowed to switch characters at sparse fast travel points, which massively limits the capacity of puzzles; most of what actually happens is one character going off to do their own thing at a time, largely isolated from any impact of the others. The rare exception usually just means schlepping one other character through trivial areas you already cleared out to open one door, and then back a couple screens to get to the fast travel to swap back -- and since fast travel points are unlocked per character and not shared, that often means schlepping them across large trivial chunks of the [i]entire world map[/i] that you already cleared out. Worse, the fast travel points are only visible when viewing the map from one, so locating one can be a pain even if you've already unlocked it.

Combat and boss fights are disappointing as well. Where Teslagrad's bosses were pseudo-puzzles that used your cool puzzle powers to either do indirect damage or create openings, these are mostly just a point and click adventure where the only solution is "use attack button on guy" with...very little thought or finesse, and almost no use of the characters' actual abilities. The difficulty is more jank than depth.

All of this comes to a head when the final chapter suddenly springs a required collectathon of the game's hidden items on you for no particular reason. Teslagrad did the same at the very end, and while a bit rude it wasn't too much of burden because they could be found organically throughout the game and there was a simple central hub to quickly explore. Here, almost none of them are even accessible until the final chapter, as the entire game beforehand was on fairly tight rails and doesn't permit characters to venture out much until the last minute. So you're left with having to suddenly explore the entire world map all at once, so large that the main game up till then used barely a third of it if that, and so empty that there's nothing else of worth to do but collectathon, [i]four times[/i]. Upon finding enough of them to progress, the door opens to immediately present another door barely ten feet behind it that demands more of them.

It's a shame because there's a neat world and lore going on, but the game just does very little with it and goes out of its way to be tedious.

事实上是一个很好的游戏，还是很值得购买的，比较大的缺点就是四位角色的切换跑图过程有些许冗长和重复，但是解密和探索的过程还是很有意思的，游戏的氛围比特斯拉学徒给人的感觉要轻松一点毕竟角色有个谐星，但是深挖的背景还是有点压抑，战斗的环节确实过于朴素了毫无挑战性，主角团的四人塑造不是特别到位，女特斯拉法师主要承担解读背景因为只有她看得懂那些祖先留下的石碑，但是本身的戏份还是太少了，到最后自己来这个世界的目的还没有达成，小男孩的塑造较为成功，从一个井底之蛙（无辱骂的意思，字面意思）、胆小、弱小到最后的独当一面的男子汉，雇佣兵和卡温顿就是纯谐星不做评价，游戏内挖了很多坑没有填，左上角冰原的猿王，女法师的爹，永生蓝人怎么杀死的，四位学徒活下来的那位去哪了，遗迹里的果实和不稳定的物质究竟是什么，那个抢天气装置的女拳什么来头，希望还能有dlc或是续作填坑，总的来说还是很值得入手的一款游戏

Incredibly good metroidvania game. You have 4 characters and each has a different move set. Like in Astalon Tears of the Earth you have to get to checkpoints to switch characters, except here each character has to get to a checkpoint themselves. Which makes the level design much more interesting and unlocking shortcuts much more rewarding.

10/10 game. Would mind control squirrles again.

World to the West ultimately falls short in every aspect it prides itself on. Its strongest suit being its puzzles/platforming in this hybrid puzzle action adventure game, though that is saying bugger all when analysed in the grand scheme of things.

This game is four times longer than it needs to be, and that's because you quite legitimately repeat most things... four times over, each character completely independent of one another. I've never seen a game both underutilise, yet overutilise its characters in nearly every instance of itself as there are very few key moments in the game that solely rely one any one single character, yet when it does, it almost emphasises that specific character too much.

World to the West feels like a mad cacophony of shallow ideas jury rigged to a half-assed effort. The problem is it falls short, far too short in everything it implores you do. The combat is tacky, boring, unengaging and honestly infuriating, and tedious. The longer the game went on the more I tended to avoid encounters. This is only compounded by how piss poor the controls are. The game uses an 8-point direction scheme even when using a mouse, which means your mouse cursor isn't always representative of the true direction you are facing, or an action might occur, such as attacking, or using the Teslamancer's projectile attack or dash. Half the time my characters wouldn't attack or respond to left clicking resulting in me taking more hits than I should have. The game would have benefit far more from its exclusion, as it only really felt to serve as a means to falsely pad out time in the already overwhelmingly bland environments that lack diversity and depth.

There's a currency system in play that also feels entirely unnecessary in the grand scheme of the game, with the money only serving two purposes; to either buy minions for the mindbender, or to buy map pins for the 'collectables', which only equate to health shards or oddly, lore tablets.

The story is by far one of the weakest I've experienced that simply boils down to 'bad guy doing bad thing and must be stopped'. It's no spoiler to say the conclusion was as satisfying as licking a soiled lollipop, literally no ones story is concluded and not even a single word/piece of text is spoken or displayed in the extremely hodgepodge cutscene that kicks you out the door to thank you for your arduous time. I was utterly shocked and dumbfounded by its abruptness. An insurmountable effort was made to get through to the end only for it to feel entirely in vain.

The puzzles are the best part about this whole experience, but I'm really not aiming to compliment the game here. Most puzzles boil down to platforming or finding a way to 'climb' an obstacle. There's some deviation with the Teslamancers shock rod but it's mostly limited to bouncing the projectile of pylons.

To reiterate my earlier point about the game duration, the game's biggest cardinal sin is that you must repeat most, if not everything, four times, separately for each individual character. The map is quite expansive and convoluted but travel is made easier by the way of totems you can fast travel to. Or so you would think. That is until you realise that totems are only unlocked for the characters that find them. That means for the map to be completely open and traversable for every character, you must run the course, four. Complete. Times. This only builds frustration when you focus on one character to explore, get them to the other side of the map, and have to repeat the process, another three times. Seriously, what were the devs thinking with this? I have to reinforce this point because it's the most prominent issue the game has, you must understand what you are getting yourself into.

Honestly, it's a game that promises much with its pretty visuals, and the allure of something greater beyond the horizon to the west. It's such a shame that it's a harrowing journey of repetition, uninspired brawling, lackluster puzzling, and a completely uninspired narrative. It couldn't be a bigger bludge if it tried.

This game has promise, intrigue, and potential when you first load it up, by the end it's simply hot air.

Not worth your time, or your money. You want a good action adventure? Go play Ori.

You've been warned, this is as weak as they come. A real shame considering the appraise for Teslagrad.

This game is a Zelda-like puzzle -adventure game with combat elements and is set in the same world as Teslagrad.
In this game you control 4 different characters with different abilities that their combination help to solve the different puzzles and pass the different obstacles.

It's a not a bad game though a very short one if you know what you are doing and not getting lost in the world.

My main issue is the way the teleportation points (checkpoints) work in this game: to use a checkpoint and teleport from one location to another, every character individually has to unlock it for themselves.
If your character unlocked a specific checkpoint then only that specific character can use it until you get to there with another character to unlock for themselves and now do this for all 4 characters.
This kills the pacing of the game and a better solution would have been to unlock in the intro levels all the central checkpoints to reduce backtracking.

Not a bad game but its short and with some pacing issues.

다만 게임이 목적지의 위치만 알려주고 경로는 플레이어 알아서 짜야하는 구조를 갖고 있어 헤매기 쉬운데, 특히 지도가 불완전한 초반에는 삼천포로 빠지기 쉽다. 거기에 스토리 진행을 위해서는 모든 캐릭터를 한 곳으로 데려가야 하는데, 캐릭터마다 목적지까지 갈 수 있는 방법이 다르다는 점이 더해져, 답답함을 종종 느끼게 된다.
다만 이 점은 주어진 길을 따라가는 진행 방식을 싫어하고 스스로 탐험하는 것을 좋아하는 플레이어에게는 오히려 장점이 될 것이다.

Was originally intrigued by the game under the notion that it would be a straight forward platforming/puzzle game but became quickly frustrated by the need to constantly switch between characters with different abilities. This made the game into a complicated chore meaning that you have to switch between characters about every 4 minutes. As far as I can tell there are platforms where you change characters but the characters do not teleport to the platform meaning the characters can get really far away from each other. I got caught in a part where I had no idea what to do and my characters were in entirely different places on the map with seemingly way way to return to each other.

Decent game, but not quite as good as Teslagrad. This game has a couple of boring parts, the puzzles are underwhelming, the bosses aren't great (partly due to less precise controls) and it has a bug here and there. But the overworld is fun to explore with all characters, the music is pretty good and I like the art style. It is just fun enough to recommend, but don't expect Zelda quality here. I'd get it on sale.

I really loved this game. The soundtrack is great, the gameplay is fun, and the art style is captivating. The gameplay gave me some Legend of Zelda vibes. You explore, solve puzzles, and collect items using the unique play style of four different characters. The game is short but I really enjoyed every second. The only downside is the ending, the story ends unsatisfactorily without properly ending each character's backstory. Nonetheless, it is a great game that I definitely recommend.

This is a great indie gem if you're someone who likes the top-down gameplay style of the 2D Zelda games, like Link to the Past, Link Between Worlds etc, which also happens to be a sequel to the (mostly) great Teslagrad.

[h1]Gameplay[/h1]
World to the West takes place in an open, metroidvania style world, where you slowly gain access to more of the map as you unlock the 4 characters and upgrade their powers.

The gameplay is more complex than other reviews have given it credit for. Like Zelda, most of the game is spent solving "puzzles", but these aren't necessarily in your face puzzle rooms like Teslagrad. Generally you know you need to get from point A to point B, or find an item in point B, and to do that you need to solve some subtle environmental puzzles using the 4 characters (or a subset of those). The complexity comes from the way the developers nave cleverly spread abilities over all the characters, so that there is some overlap of some abilities, and other powers are unique. To solve these puzzles you generally need to find the one character or sequence of characters that have the abilities you need at the time.

In addition to the main storyline, there are a [i]lot[/i] of collectibles to find: 36 scrolls, a similar amount of health upgrades, and then maybe 100 money chests strewn around the map. These were my favourite part of the game, not only because I'm a completionist, but also because these allowed the environmental puzzles to shine: you really have to think about how the spaces are designed, and which parts stand out as something that can be exploited by a given character. In addition, the game has save points which serve as fast travel spots. Others have complained that each character must individually find these to enable teleporting, but I think this is a clever addition to the game that in some cases makes you solve the same environmental puzzle in 4 different ways in order to access all the treasures available to each character in each area.

The combat was entirely serviceable for those used to Zelda's combat: each character has a main attack button along with up to 3 other abilities that might have some combat application. Combat comes into focus during some interesting boss fights and certain arena fight gates, but is otherwise not a huge portion of the game.

[h1]Music[/h1]
I found this game's music to be diverse and interesting. No particular track was so good that I would buy the soundtrack, but I remember enjoying it as I played!

[h1]Story[/h1]
At face value, the story was very bland: four heroes are prophesied to be able to beat the bad guy and his plot to destroy the world, so they have to find key items to stop him. Pretty uninspired. On the other hand, it was a nice opportunity for the devs to explore the interesting cultures present in the world of Teslagrad, including the mind-controlling Mesmer, the engineers from Motorland, the electric Teslamancers from the first game, and others. However, the game isn't set in any of these countries. The Mesoamerican-inspired native people of the titular "West" have a pleasantly developed history, but the game seems to sideline them for some reason, and decides that the (white) foreigners need to save their country for them, which is a bizarre decision that could so easily be avoided by including them in the playable party, as well as coming up with a better reason why they can't save themselves except for "prophecy". So story is probably the game's weakest part.

The Good:
+ Large interconnected world
+ A large variety of gameplay mechanics
+ Multiple swappable characters with their own abilities
+ Nice and consistent art style
+ Native Dualshock / PS4 controller button prompts

The bad:
- Ending is essentially a 'To Be Continued', resolves nothing.
- Softlocks via getting stuck on the environment are common.
- Ice slide ability can break when switching screens.
- Characters defense abilities are slow to activate.
- No achievements until several hours into the game.

Final thoughts:
The lack of a proper ending hurts this game far more then anything else, and left me feeling bittersweet towards the experience (the softlocks were just something you kind of get used to). That said, other then that I largely enjoyed the game, and grew so comfortable with the world that it felt natural to try and do everything in it (100% of achievements). So overall, I'd recommend it.

(As a side note, if you like 'Mages of Mystralia' then you'll also like this game, and vise versa, as they're similar to the point where they feel like alternate reality versions of each other.)

A game that reminded me of the DS Zelda games, but is ultimately flawed.

-Gameplay-
Very similar to a 3D top-down Zelda game. This is an exploration-based adventure game, with a neat concept: Instead of having just 1 playable character, the game gives you four. Each has their own abilities and playing style, and you will need to switch between them and use their unique abilities to progress in the game.

This creates a fun but also very repetetive playing style, because you will need to clear certain parts multiple times, but with other characters. I kinda expected really fun puzzles and exploration which require smart use of multiple character abilities, but there is none of that. Combat and movement in general isn't really fun or fluid either. A lot of the enemies are not hard, but really frustrating to fight. Aside from some key items, there are no other usable items or equipments. Most puzzles are very clunky as well, and some game sections were very confusing and frustrating. Most of your time will be spent walking around and searching how to get to a specific place. It all just wasn't very... fun to play.

-Graphics and Artstyle-
The graphics are pretty good, and have a very charming, toony style. Again, really similar to the DS Zelda games. Some assets and animations are not quite convincing, but overall the style works well for the game, and there is a lot to like about it. I did like most of the character models and animations, some are really cute.

-Music and SFX-
I did not like the soundtrack. Most tracks are pretty generic and simple, and weren't really memorable to me.
Some tracks, especially the desert BGM, was so repetetive and irritating I had to just mute the audio in that part of the game. I just think this game deserves more; it would have upped my enjoymend significantly, as music always is pretty important to me. Sound effects aren't great either. I played the last half of the game without audio at all.

-Story-
The story is very simple and doesn't get a lof of focus. Also the different characters, each with their own personality, didn't get a lot of attention. There's really some missed potential there; they could have done a lot with character interaction to make it a very memorable and charming little adventure of 4 people.
In the end it's just a very bland story, and it barely drives the rest of the game.

-Technical and bugs-
I think I encountered some minor bugs: I had no shadows in some platforming sections, making them very hard. Otherwise game ran well, controller compatebiltiy is there and works.

All in all, I think this game is flawed. I with there would be more games like this, but with more polish and attention to what makes a game fun to play. For a few Euro's on a sale this might be worth it, you can get quite some time out of it, but the fun factor wasn't high enough to me.

Ich habe ~22 Std. Spielzeit und muss sagen, ich habe dieses Spiel geliebt. Ein Freund hat es mir empfohlen und es hat mir von der ersten Sekunde an gefallen. Es ist zwar nicht allzu schwer und auch teilweise verbugged, aber ich mochte einfach das Design, den Charme und generell alles drumherum. Die Charaktere sind witzig und interessant, die Story ist zwar recht überschaubar aber in allem ganz in Ordnung. Teilweise ist es viel Lauferei, was vielleicht nicht jedem liegt, aber wer gern durch das Spiel geht und Sachen erkundet wird schon seinen Spaß haben. Die Musik des Spiels ist auch wirklich schön und unterhaltsam.
Kurz gesagt, World to the West kommt mir ein wenig unausgereift vor, aber alles in allem lohnt es sich auf alle Fälle und ich werde es bestimmt wieder spielen.

主角共4人能力各异有点像三位一体不过换人要在传送兼存档点而且存档点不共享要各自跑图开点
地图不算太大但是地形复杂还分地上地下两层除专属道具的位置地图各处4人均可到达而行进路线各不相同并不会因为同个地图跑4遍而太过厌烦
游戏整体难度偏低解谜基本没有难度战斗方面判定不是特别准但是熟悉后也说得过去
关键角色不是一摸死了有血量设计还能进一步提升并且满地回血草
成就只和收集要素挂钩而全收集也会给角色能力升级
收集品位置在游戏内可花钱购买全收集后还可以购买角色血量升级道具的位点相当方便
不过血量位点建议4人逐个购买并收集不然点位都标在地图上却不知道是属于谁的

The game starts very fun. Suddenly, in chapter IV the Lord's challenge makes the game worse and worse. The characters do not seem to form a team since it is only possible to change characters at the checkpoints. In other words, it is necessary to go through the same area several times with different caracters. The lord's fight control is poor, and doesn't respond very well. The story is superficial and the ending adds very little to it.

Compre este juego esperandome una aventura llevadera y divertida, pero a finales del juego no a sido así. El final se me ha hecho tan pesado que he abandonado el juego. El principal problema es que para abanzar te piden unos objetos que en un principio parezen coleccionables. Que te pidan estos objetos es solo y únicamente para alargar el tiempo del juego artificialmente, lo que en mi caso ha hecho que lo abandone. El control es algo tosco y la mecánica no están del todo bien planteadas, todo y eso si no hubiera sido por el incidente que menciono más arriba hubiera acabado el juego y lo hubiera recomendado. Por culpa de querer alargar el juego 2-3 horas han hecho que este al final se haga muy difícil de acabar. Siempre he preferido juegos cortos a juegos largos con horas vacías.

Interesting exploration game. I am not a fan of its character swap mechanic, which forces you to find up to 4 different routes to a single location and some characters have it much easier than others, but it is a part of this game and makes each location unique in a certain way even if you have already explored it with other characters.

Also I would like to call this as a very kid friendly game. I definitely could see my child play it, but some fight are just stupidly hard. Not impossible since most have some weird exploit to make it much simpler, but trying to do them in an intended way is something I wouldnt dare.

It was an interesting experience, not the best, but I had fun, so it counts.

Дропнула игру, пройдя примерно половину. Честно - надоело зевать.

Если кратко, то это - невзрачная, лёгкая, надоедливая метроидвания.

А теперь подробно. Упор сделан не на экшн, а на исследования. И это прям печально. Герой постоянно натыкается на места, куда он пока не может забраться. Дело исключительно в одной вещи - герои не умеют прыгать. Вот из-за этого приходится ломать голову и искать обходные пути. В итоге получается так, что каждый участок карты нужно проходить по несколько раз.

У нас 4 героя, каждый со своими способностями:

1. Силач. Ну, тут все ясно
Мужчина, вкачавший все очки в силу, может все крушить, бегать и забираться на небольшие уступы.
2. Чародейка. Умеет дэшаться и активировать механизмы.
3. Девушка с шарфом. Прыгает через уступы, цепляясь этим самым шарфом за опоры, а так же владеет искусством майндконтроля.
4. Мальчик с лопатой. Умеет двигаться под землёй и скользить по воде, оставляя ледяной след.

Вообще, у героев есть имена, но я их не запомнила.

Мне не понравилось, что мало экшена, а враги изейшие. 2 из 3 боссов побеждаются тупо закликиванием, обычные враги за пару ударов погибают.

Так же, огромным минусом для меня является отсутствие русской локализации. Но английский в игре простой, в принципе.

Вердикт. Скучно постоянно натыкаться на места, куда не можете залезть. Нудно. Не рекомендую. 3/10, 3 балла поставлю за милых врагов, многоглазые собаки и рыжие хомячки с хвостами дюже забавные)
