Children of Morta was an enjoyable game. The gameplay loop is fun. The story is presented in a manner that keeps it interesting. Even in failed runs where you do not beat the boss there are little snippets presented that provide more information about the Bergsons and about the world in general.

In addition, there's plenty of lore items or advancement available for those who want collectibles or achievements to keep the playtime up in a game. It offers a New Game + mode for those who want to have additional challenge as they go item hunting. (I do not know if there are items specifically limited to New Game +.)

The upgrades system based on collecting Morv also means that even if you're not able to track the notifications from enemies to know when to evade (that was me) mean that you are not prevented from making progress in the game. If you want your games to demand that the player "get good" that will be a downside, but if you're in the more casual camp it makes the game accessible.

The characters have different abilities and styles, so there is replayability in that aspect as well. However, because of the bonuses from Morv, you don't have to start the game over with a new character to be able use that character. I learned that a bit late in the game. This means you can continue the story even if you take on a new character. The game encourages using the other characters in two ways. 1) Characters provide universal bonuses as they assign skill points from leveling and 2) Characters will suffer corruption fatigue that require they sit out for a few runs to rest. The second mechanic is a bit controversial, but there are enough characters that it is generally easy to find two that can fit your playstyle and usually swapping for one mission can clear corruption fatigue if you catch it early.

The game utilizes pixel art, but the art works well for conveying information about the world and the enemies.

The story and world of the game are interesting. I do think the story ends a bit abruptly, and it does so in a manner that didn't really feel earned or coherent. However, leading up to the final fight the way information is presented and the way the story is told provides motivation to continue playing. The devs/writers also did a good job of balancing a fairly dark tone with an optimistic and caring view of a family working together to stand against an destructive force. There were a number of occasions where I was reminded that the game had some dark themes, but it wasn't brooding and macabre throughout.

First, I want to say that I bought this game while it was on sale for 5 bucks. With that said, I'm glad I bought it on sale. I absolutely love roguelike games as well as dungeon crawling. The gameplay is fun, being able to switch between characters and not feel like you are behind the other characters is nice as well. I love the idea of the family dynamic and how they all buff each other. With that being said...

The story is god awful and so is the random dialogue while the characters are idle at home.

While I would recommend this game on sale, I would not recommend this game at it's full price.

Очень приятная динамичная и увлекательная игра . Диаблойн в сюжетке и рогалик в дополнительном длс режиме со своей прокачкой. Игра поощряет прокачивать всех персонажей и находить секретики на уровнях. Различные пасивные бонусы за повышение уровней героев наличие у каждого по ветке умений и огромное количество общих навыков семьи с покачкой за добытое золото заставляет игроков чаще спускаться в подземелья для фарма. А если герои уже перекачались можно уйти на new game + и врубить повышенную сложность для еще более щедрых наград и испытаний. Единственный минус игры - слишком мало уровней . Игре не достает еще хотя бы пары локаций . 3 портала с 2-3 зонами - крайне мало ((( A very enjoyable, dynamic, and engaging game. It's a Diablo II in the story and a roguelike in the additional DLC mode with its own leveling system. The game encourages leveling up all characters and finding secrets on each floor. Various passive bonuses for leveling up heroes in each skill tree and a huge number of built-in family tools with gold leveling encourage players to dive into the dungeon more often to farm. And if your heroes are already leveled up, you can switch to New Game + and turn on the higher difficulty for even more generous rewards and challenges. The only drawback is the game's limited levels. The game needs at least a couple more locations. Three portals with two or three zones is extremely insufficient and begs for more space.

Lo recomiendo este juego, es bastante entretenido. los enemigos ya desde el principio son molestos (En Dificultad Dificil) Y en las Mazmorras Se pone Bastante Desafiante si vas Solo, pero Si jugas Con Amigos Obviamente sera mucho mas facil xd. Todavia no lo jugue muchas Horas pero donde estoy yo, hay una casa gigante donde no me deja salir al exterior y eso le quita punto. 9/10

It's a fine game, but its not a great game. I think if the aesthetics and vibe of it appeal to you personally then it might take you from fine to good and beyond. Visually the game is interesting at first but as it goes on, really its just quite messy, its one of the downsides of having pixel art with such low pixel density. The combat is okay at first but ultimately I didn't find any of the classes to be fully enjoyable on their own, and the animation wind ups on many of hte attacks and spells often seem at odds with the pace of the enemy attacks (I did play on hard mode exclusvily). Then there is the online co-op, it works, and if you're on the same continent as your co-op partner maybe its frictionless, but even at 19ping it was impossible to dodge certain traps and telegraphed attacks. It needs some kind of rollback netcode.

I've played a lot of roguelikes, its probably my favourite genre. But when there are so many incredible games to choose from in the genre, fine just isn't good enough for me, the game needs a little more sauce than it delivers.

I bought the game so my friend and I could play together. It’s very interesting—the story and everything—but it’s horribly buggy. Something goes wrong almost every time we play together. On top of that, the house management is strange for the player who is online. Out of the three times we played, it bugged out twice—black screen, the map not showing for my friend—we gave up. It’s a shame.

好朋友菲利亚说要一起玩的！！！然后莉亚说闪退打不开，于是我偷偷玩完了嘻嘻（并不嘻嘻，游戏内容有点匮乏，多人来说乐趣应该不是很大~）
画面五分！精美，像素画风也是很堆料了～非常好看～
音乐四分～不算差？但是没有给我很惊艳的～总之不错～
剧情五分～但是我没看…没耐心看剧情，但是不妨碍他真的很多貌似蛮细节的～好评～
缺点是…有的角色…手感实在是太差了，点名玩大锤的重的要死，一直吃伤害，然后还没伤害…
局外的数值成长太多了，作为一个肉鸽局外成长全是加数值，嗯……不太妥……
角色的局内成长，相对几乎没有，没有构筑……一把游戏能拿到的东西也不多联动也不多，作为肉鸽性来说和哈迪斯差不多，就是几乎没有肉鸽…
非常吃局外和家族联动，也就是说都是固定成长，角色技能本身就少得可怜，还得慢慢解锁，很容易腻…
然后手感打击感爽感还是有的，就是数值起来的话打的挺爽～
至于里面的肉鸽模式…要解锁的东西有点多…不想打…

геймплей 8\10, да рогалик, но очень классно его проходить, правда под конец очень сильно может задушнить, так как ты просто не поймешь кем проходить эти локи

Зашёл в *Children of Morta* просто как в “ещё один рогалик”…
А получил историю про семью, страдания и вечное “ещё один забег и спать”.

🎮 **Геймплей**
Это такой Diablo + рогалик.

Бегаешь по данжам → умираешь → прокачиваешься → снова умираешь.
И так по кругу.

* Персонажей много, и **каждый реально играется по-разному**
* Постоянно заставляют менять героев
* Есть прокачка семьи, а не одного персонажа

💡 Сначала кажется сложной, но потом втягиваешься и уже не можешь остановиться.

Вот честно — игра цепляет не боёвкой, а атмосферой.

Ты возвращаешься домой после забега,
смотришь, как живёт семья…
и реально начинаешь переживать за этих пиксельных людей.

Reviewing the coop experience: Played this with my partner as one of her first action coops, a solid 10 hours of play, excellent value for the price you pay (less than $4). We only completed the Main Story and only played the Family Trials twice (the completely roguelike mode).

I think this is a great action roguelike to introduce to someone:
- the roguelike elements and progression are fairly fast and not too grindy, generally after 1-3 deaths you're able to progress to the next map
- the difficulty is about right with an experienced player able to pick up some of the slack with revives but still requiring some upgrades to progress through harder levels
- characters are all fairly unique, however some are deffinately better than others
- exp isn't shared across characters but is progression-scaled to the level, so you can quickly catch up underlevelled characters

There aren't many negatives in terms of gameplay, but the biggest one is that if you start playing coop, you must essentially keep playing coop as the save file is downloaded from the host each gameplay but not locally and doesnt contribute to your own save file. (Eg., my partner never needed a save file, and if she played solo, she would have to start from zero, and no progression or exp earned together wasn't transfered).

I think it's a good decent game overall but felt short. 7/10

-Разнообразие геймплея. Каждый персонаж ощущается уникально, что мотивирует перепроходить игру.
-Баланс сложности. Игра бросает вызов, но не кажется несправедливой.
-Ощущение прогресса. Даже после неудач вы видите, как семья становится сильнее.

Что может не понравиться
-Повторяемость подземелий. Со временем локации могут показаться однообразными.
-Сложность для новичков. Механика roguelike требует привыкания.
-Ограниченная реиграбельность после полного прохождения сюжета (хотя фанаты жанра найдут, чем заняться).

Got this only to try something new, and i was hooked on from the first level. A simple story, yet beautifullly told, memorable characters with each having their pros and cons, variable levels with infinite room to level up, good enemies and impactful boss fights, it had it all

Will give it 10/10, after a long time i felt a game was perfect (the last one was God of War)!!!

早年入手玩了一会觉得操作打击都很烂就退了，后来玩了一次学习版，通关了，整体来说就是无聊无趣的一款游戏，用修改器都爽不起来。7个可玩角色，只有2个是远程，就是传统的弓手和火法，但在剧情模式里两个远程手感很烂，小火法勉强能用；近战也一样，只能玩约翰、马克，相对友好通关容易些，其他几个角色就是摆看的。说是肉鸽，没有一点感觉，每次通关只有金钱能带出来，而且掉落少得可怜，玩了两天受不了直接用修改器改钱，才勉强玩得下去。技能树，主动技能少得可怜，且大多实用性不高且CD长，总之我拿修改器改满了技能，金钱无限，最后也没爽起来，打怪一样捉襟见肘，怪物一个个都打了鸡血一样，移动快打击频率高穷追不舍。至于游戏剧情，额，真是难评，前边觉得还有点意思，奶奶牺牲自己时还有点小感动，但最后是什么鬼，烂尾了。最后也玩了几把试练模式，有点肉鸽的味道，但依然爽不起来，总之就是很烂的玩法，通关FB的收益太小了玩法也单一，很难有耐心重复刷。

yeah that 2nd to last boss is definitely extra hard on accident but I was able to beat it anyway via brute force and persistence. I liked the gameplay, leveling mechanics, and the plot was great. It does have a small learning curve but once you get used to it the game flows really well and it's easy to get stronger.

Really pretty, god awful story, bland and generic, same can be said about the combat. Everything is slow and sluggish. This game feels like a chore to play, even in coop. It really is beautiful though. Which is also kind of a negative, since 1. the first few levels are in generic, ugly, dark caves and 2. when there IS something going on, you get confused really easily. Also good god this game is easy.

It starts a bit more dificult, since you will have to restart often. It gets easier, but slow down, the small encounters, unlocking cutscenes.. you should take your time to enjoy the story.

Children of Morta é um RPG de Ação Hack and Slash com elementos de Roguelite, onde acompanhamos a história da luta da família Bergson para extinguir a Corrupção do Monte Morta e das terras ao seu redor.

Sobre a lore, ela é muito boa, envolvendo temas como amor, união, família e piedade.
Sobre a gameplay, o padrão do jogo não é muito diferente de outros roguelites: Você controla um personagem, limpa um level, pega upgrades, enfrenta o boss, morre (repete). O sistema de buffs passivos que são compartilhados entre os membros da família forma um ótimo incentivo para jogar com todos e chegar a pelo menos em um level mínimo (level 20).
Existe side-quests durantes as runs, coletáveis e upgrades permanente no hub do jogo (Casa dos Bergsons).

É um excelente roguelite, com personagens únicos e contendo uma boa história. Recomendo!!!

If you can get this game on sale it is an absolute steal. I bought it for its current sale of $3.29 I walked into thinking it would be a simple pixel game but it was surprisingly very polished. you can tell it has some passion and love poured into it. The music, the voice acting, the colors and combat are all very enjoyable. As someone who has played many dungeon crawling games, it still offers a great challenge and very pleasing mechanics i did not think i would see in the game. the game is normally $22 and honestly i would not have been mad at paying that price.

esse jogo é magnifico, faz tempo que não jogava algo tão envolvente, os personagens são memoraveis e todos tem personalidade, o mundo vai evoluindo junto com você, cada run a mais é uma novidade, o sistema de upar personagens e isso desbloquear coisas pra todos os outros te incentiva a variar e jogar cada run com um boneco diferente, sobre aspetos tecnicos eu simplesmente achei os graficos magnificos, uma pixel art de extrema qualidade, os niveis são interessantes e o combate é muito bom, além da quantidade imensa de coisa pra desbloquear, vale muito mais que o preço
