Omensight: Definitive Edition es lo que pasa cuando mezclas Acción/Aventura con un Rol ligerito, lo envuelves en un misterio de fantasía oscura y le echas viajes en el tiempo como si fueran condimento “premium”. Eres el presagio (sí, básicamente un “detective apocalíptico con espada”) que revive el último día del mundo una y otra vez para entender quién lo arruinó… y cómo evitarlo. Porque claro: el fin del mundo es un rompecabezas y tú eres el becario que lo tiene que resolver.

La primera impresión es potente: narrativa dinámica, decisiones que importan (al menos más que en muchos juegos que lo prometen), y combates hack and slash rápidos para que no te duermas mientras interrogas sospechosos. Todo esto con vibra indie, protagonista femenina, y un tono de “esto es serio, pero también te voy a dejar experimentar hasta que lo entiendas… o te canses”.

Omensight: Definitive Edition es ese juego que te hace sentir inteligente por “resolver” el apocalipsis a base de repetirlo… y funciona sorprendentemente bien. Combina acción rápida con investigación narrativa, y lo más fuerte está en cómo te suelta pistas para que armes el rompecabezas sin tratarte como si necesitaras subtítulos para respirar.

Ahora, seamos controversiales: que haya 3 jugadores activos dice más del mercado que del juego, pero también te avisa algo: esto es una experiencia muy de “lo juego, lo disfruto, lo recomiendo… y luego me voy”. Aun así, con 1166 recomendaciones, no estamos ante un experimento olvidable: es un título con buen prestigio, solo que no vive de moda eterna.

Solo entra con la expectativa correcta: es más “thriller narrativo con acción” que “RPG profundo”, y su bucle temporal es delicioso… hasta que te recuerda que es un bucle.

Muito bom, história boa e curta, a gameplay é divertida apesar de que quando se chega nos niveis finais de personagem o combate fica bem fácil por ter tantos poderes e combos diferentes, a luta final eu esperava mais em questão de dificuldade (é só ficar spammando o primeiro poder que tu ganha de parar o tempo e usando o botão direito carregado que ele morre facil facil) mas no geral, uma boa história, personagens gostáveis e interessantes, o desenrolar da história dá a impressão de que o jogo vai ser mais complexo e que a história vai ser maior do que ela realmente é, mas dito isso, ainda é um jogo indie, e pelo tudo que oferece ele é bem completo e a história é bem redondinha, eu diria que vale o seu tempo, infelizmente a empresa no momento parece estar quase falindo o que é uma pena, pois joguei tanto esse jogo quanto o outro deles, stories: the path of destinies, e dá para ver o amor e o carinho botado nesses jogos, espero que eles consigam resolver os problemas financeiros da empresa.

GAMEPLAY: 8/10
a gameplay é bem divertida, me lembra bastante dos god of war antigos, e isso foi o principal motivo de eu querer jogar esse jogo, além de eu ter jogado o anterior e gostado bastante, dito isso, como dito anteriormente, o jogo te dá tantos poderes, mecanicas, estratégias, que quando chega mais pro meio ao fim do jogo, vc tem tantas coisas diferentes para usar em combate que ele fica beeeem facil, até no hard, tanto que ao chegar na luta final contra o boss final do jogo, eu achei que iam ter mais fases mais mecanicas diferentes ao lutar contra ele, mas na verdade foi a mesma coisa, além de uns espinhos no campo de batalha, só fui usei o poder de parar o tempo fiquei batendo nele e usando o turbilhão mortal e matei de primeira, sem fases adicionais de boss ou algo do tipo, no geral o jogo é bem facil em questão de gameplay mas é bem divertida, como se eu estivesse jogando os god of war antigos no modo normal, no geral, bom

HISTÓRIA: 9/10
A história eu gostei bastante, não é nada muito complexo nem com muitas camadas, mas tem seus plots que são bem interessantes e personagens bem gostáveis, a única coisa que me incomodou a ponto de não deixar a história num 10 é mais por causa de como os personagens agem quando mostramos a visão em certas ocasiões (spoilers a seguir), como quando mostramos uma visão a draga ou a ratika por exemplo e elas deixam de liderar e ajudar o exercito delas e simplesmente abandonam tudo pra investigar ou provar algo junto com o personagem principal, simplesmente tacando o foda-se pros soldados de ambos os lados e deixando a guerra lá, ainda mais na parte da ratika que ela tava disposta a basicamente perder a alma e seus sentimentos para se tornar uma entidade que teria poder suficiente para defender a nação dela, e aí ela só larga os seguidores dela lá e vai investigar com o protagonista? sei lá isso ficou na minha cabeça no jogo, mas talvez eu esteja sendo exigente demais

MUSICA/TRILHA SONORA: 10/10
Eu gosto bastante de apreciar muitas musicas de jogos e as desse jogo foram uma delas que ficou na minha cabeça por um bom tempo (principalmente a da ratika obviamente), gosto bastante dessas musicas que tem esse teor mais ÉPICO e também essas mais lentas e que dão um ar enigmático no jogo, para mim a musica definitivamente é o ponto mais forte do jogo, gostei demais.

JOGO NO GERAL: 9/10
Um bom jogo definitivamente, ele não é longo, mas é uma experiencia muito muito boa, fico surpreso até que não é um jogo muito conhecido pois tem uma história bem interessante e personagens muito bons, o que é realmente uma pena, dito isso se você estiver pensando em comprar, eu não compraria em full price, eu comprei esse jogo faz bastante tempo (esqueci dele e zerei só agora xD) e eu comprei por 45 reais em promoção se não me engano na edição de colecionador, que não vem dlc mas vem a musica e o artbook do jogo, lembro que tinha comprado essa versão mais para apoiar a empresa do que por algum conteudo adicional exatamente, então se espera algo como skin ou mais história ao comprar essa versão, não tem, compre apenas a versão padrão em promoção mesmo, tenho 19 horas de jogo porém isso foi duas vezes que joguei o jogo, tanto nesses ultimos dias quanto antigamente quando esqueci de zerar o jogo, então diria que o jogo tem umas 10 horas mais ou menos de conteudo, enfim, não tenho mais nada a comentar, é um bom jogo e eu o recomendo!

While this game sits somewhere in the middle for me, I have to give it a negative review for a couple of reasons:

1) The game says play with a controller for best experience, but mouse and keyboard feels like an afterthought. Stuff like the main menu are so sensitive, that just hovering over a single pixel of a button will not only highlight it, but also select it, which led to me changing my game to Portuguese or something. Also during gameplay, the mouse doesn't move the camera or anything like that, and is strictly using for determining what enemy you will jump to as you chain attacks, instead of that being done with the movement keys.

2) Speaking of combat, yeah, it's a simple hack and slash, but some of the features are just plain annoying. When you perfectly dodge an attack, time will slow down for a brief period, and while it wasn't a hinderance per say, with the natural fast pace of the game, it certainly didn't feel like a welcome mechanic. Also the mechanic where dodging 3 times in a row makes you recover for far too long and leaving you exposed, and the upgrade that reduces this recovery time felt like it didn't do much.

3) I randomly downloaded from my backlog, and didn't know anything about it, so the Murder Mystery aspect of it was a nice surprise, and something I was actually looking forward to. Turns out it wasn't much of a murder mystery, because we find out who the murder is about halfway through. But hey, it's fine, the murder victim is a Godless Priestess who is supposed to reincarnate but didn't, and is the reason all the bad stuff is happening, and the game even alludes that we should figure out what has happened to her soul that prevented the reincarnation. Except we forgot about that part of the plot. So the Murder Mystery angle is just an excuse for the time loop plot element, and not something you actually engage with.

4) The companions. For one they can't decide what kind of character they wanna be, whether it's the emperor who is sometimes caring and sometimes a tyrant, or a rebel leader who is sometimes quippy and sometimes suggesting her men blow themselves up. And also, as you progress through the game and play the loop in a different narrative, the companions make suggestions and voice opinions that they had no reason to withhold. The doubt that there COULD be a third party in the war (before we even give them proof) is something they should have voiced on their own, because it's framed like they had it for a while.

A really solid action rpg. The narrative and murder/mystery is engaging enough to keep you interested (I recommend playing on "True Detective" difficulty for a first playthrough to allow you to really discover the narrative on your own) and the combat can be challenging enough on higher difficulties to keep more advanced players from getting bored (though it's never on the level of a From Software game). It's relatively easy to get all of the achievements as well - the most difficult one to get (Masterful Denial) is just a matter of positioning and RNG, and even then isn't too terribly hard.

The game recommends a controller, but I played through it to 100% with keyboard/mouse and did just fine. WASD control support would have been great though, as the keyboard/mouse controls are a little unintuitive and clunky, but not so much that you can't get used to it.

I played their previous game after I tried Omensight, and to say that Omensight is an improvement is a VAST understatement. Proper voice acting with inspired performances, gripping story and enganging world building, with pleasantly branching level designs makes it a breeze playing through what could've been dull repeats of the same areas.

The music is fantastic as well and elevates the experience, ultimately leaving you craving so much more!

So I made it a thing to try to play some of the games I bought and never played so I came around trying out Omensight this weekend

And it was like some other reviewer wrote: super frustrating in the gameplay department.
Yes you are supposed to play with controller, but from what I read that is not that much better and it does not change one of the worst things about the game: the camera

and since controlling the game with the mouse is just a tad extra anoying, you will fall into holes all of the time.
I admit that I am not good at platforming or enjoy platforming, but in this game it felt not only frustrating, as you cannot do wsad as normal, you can do w and then move where the mouse points.

well and then the camera suddenly rotates and you are in the hole. or because you misjudged the distance, because the camera is looking on that rock sideways - oh well guess what? you go in the hole!

I really want to like this game, because some sections of combat were really fun, all things considering

but then like someone else wrote; the input buffering?
So the last fight of the game I would just die becuase I would hit the key 3 times and it would just not channel my ability?
And then the camera moves weird and a hole opens in the ground and guess what? you fall in the hole! and you have to start the whole end boss fight over!
and then you have to watch those anoying unskippable cutscenes (ok you can sometimes skip parts of the dialog) over and over and over and over again because you are just a noob who cannot fight for their life.

the only good thing were the checkpoints, because imagine if I had to have had played the whole boring and anoying level all over again because I fell in a hole because the camera moved weirdly and unexpectedly?

The story was ok, but for a time travel game the levels felt very limited and linear (like someone else mentioned) it's really a shame,
it was a nice idea but badly exectuted

also why does nobody optimize their games anymore? I understand that this is 3d with some shaders to look cartoony and 2d, but still, it's not that impressive that my graphics card has to scream at me???

you know the fights weren't even that hard? They were just anoying. they skills had some cool things you could do and if they had polished taht a bit more and the camera thing, then made the boss fights a tad more enjoyable. stop with the insta kill holes in the floor. Oh yeah or when your dash just decides to not work right now for no good reason and you go from ful live to like a quarter of a life in one second because the boss send a barrage of attacks onto you and they all hit?

you know, I had to replay parts of the boss fights so often, I realized how incredibly inconsistent that was? sometimes I would not loose a single bit of health and hack like half of the bosses life down, then fall into a hole, replay the boss and don't even get him to half life, because something weird happened and you loose half your life in the first second of the fight?

like the camera would like someone else pointed out just randomly pan around (not exactly random, it was trying to show you something, but it was super superflous) and then when it came back to you an enemy would just attack you immediately without you having a chance of reacting... and then you end up in the bosses combo attacks and since none of your skills decide to fire right now, well good thing about the checkpoints, ey mate?

like sometimes I would almost defeat waves of enemies with just random button mashing and then the next wave I would die in the first 2 seconds lol

at least for all it's flaws, it was good that the enemies scaled pretty well with the character. if anything they seemed to become harder in every iteration, but if someone like me who's bad at all of that can finish the game, it can't be that bad (I played on I think it's called balanced mode, so like second easiest)

so not saying it's a bad game overall, I think if you can get it on sale for like 5 bucks it's worth it. But it could have used some more love and attention to become really great.

oh and apparantly it took me 10h to get through the whole thing.

It isn't quite what I expected from the description; yes, you're investigating a murder, but there isn't really all that much [i]investigating[/i]. (Indeed, your character doesn't actually [i]talk[/i] at all, though they do communicate by... other means.) It's actually mostly an action platformer, but with a really cool fighting system and a very compelling story. There are important choices to make, but because of the time manipulation, you don't really care which way you go; indeed, you almost always want to try every decision both possible ways, to learn as much as you can. And while you can re-visit character stories in an order of your choice, the investigation seems to proceed in a largely pre-determined order; you have to get it wrong in a certain way in order to unlock the thing that lets you fix that mistake and then go make a [i]different[/i] mistake, and so on.

My one complaint is that it seems to use level scaling; despite getting more powerful, I often didn't [i]feel[/i] more powerful because the enemies seemed to get stronger at the same time. For the [spoiler]Void Ciphers[/spoiler] there was an in-story explanation for the scaling ([spoiler]Voden can see the threads of time and gets stronger with each cycle[/spoiler]), but for the ordinary soldiers there was no such explanation, yet they seem to get stronger too. The game rewards you for stylish combat, so I think it would totally have worked without scaling; you just get better and more stylish as you get stronger.

Things I liked about this game:
Rhythm combat; rogue-lite progression; neat way to reveal the story to the player.

If you're looking for something like that, then this might scratch that itch for you, as it did for me.

This time loop action game predates the time loop rush of 2020. It has a puzzle component, and I recommend playing it on the second highest investigation difficulty as a result. On the maximum difficulty, all the branches are hidden and you cannot interact with the summary board, so it's difficult to know where you might be able to go to make progress and might replay levels a few times without progressing.

The story is engaging enough, the true ending is worth getting, and the combat is serviceable. There are aspects of the combat I never really engaged with because they weren't required, like throwing objects and enemies. If you like time loop narratives and action combat you'll probably enjoy this.

Developed by Spearhead Games, Omensight: Definitive Edition is a stylish, story-driven action-adventure that fuses time-loop storytelling with fast-paced combat and striking visual design. Set in the dying moments of a world at war, it casts you as the Harbinger — a mysterious warrior who arrives only when the end is near.

What follows is part murder mystery, part mythological epic, and part hack-and-slash action game — a unique blend that mostly works, even when the pieces don’t always fit together perfectly.

Omensight unfolds in a world called Urralia, where anthropomorphic kingdoms (think owl monks, bear generals, feline prophets) are embroiled in war. At the center of it all is a looming apocalypse — and a murdered priestess whose death may be the key to saving everything.

As the Harbinger, you relive the final day of the world over and over, accompanying different characters and uncovering clues about who killed the priestess and why the apocalypse is unfolding. It’s a bit Groundhog Day, a bit Majora’s Mask, and a lot of narrative puzzle-solving.

Combat is real-time and flashy, blending swordplay, time-slowing abilities, and magic-like powers. You can juggle enemies, dash across arenas, and chain combos with fluidity. It's not Devil May Cry deep, but it's satisfying and snappy enough to keep things moving.

Each run pairs you with a different ally who joins you in battle, offering passive support or active abilities. These partners also change how events unfold, so combat is often directly tied to narrative progression.

That said, combat can get repetitive over time. Enemy variety is limited, and some levels reuse similar layouts or mechanics. The difficulty is moderate, though boss fights occasionally spike the challenge.

The real heart of Omensight lies in its story. It weaves themes of loyalty, betrayal, and fate, using its time-loop mechanic to great effect. The voice acting is solid across the board, with standout performances that bring its cast of warrior animals to life without dipping into parody.

Choices matter, not just in dialogue but in the order you pursue leads. The mystery itself is layered and well-paced, offering enough twists to keep you guessing.

The Definitive Edition also includes improvements and extra polish over the original release, making for a smoother experience overall.

The art direction is excellent — stylized, colorful, and bold. The characters are distinct, the environments range from glowing battlefields to crumbling ruins, and everything feels painterly and mythic. It’s not ultra-realistic, but it doesn’t need to be. The UI is clean, and the time-loop presentation is clear and intuitive.

The music by Vibe Avenue blends haunting melodies and orchestral swells to perfectly match the tone — equal parts heroic and tragic.

Omensight: Definitive Edition is an underappreciated gem. It tells an ambitious story through an innovative structure that rewards observation and experimentation. While its combat can grow repetitive and its levels sometimes feel too familiar, its narrative design, art, and atmosphere more than make up for it.

If you’re a fan of Bastion, Hades, or narrative-driven indies with a twist, Omensight is absolutely worth your time — again and again.

[*] It also features a robust color palette like [i]Wind Waker[/i]. Oftentimes with indies that employ this artstyle, you're greeted with 1 of 2 flavors palette-wise: high contrast or pastel. Props to [i]Omensight[/i] for choosing a great set of muted reds, oranges, greens, and blues instead
[*] The environmental visuals are great as well. While much of the action takes place from an isometric perspective (forcing you to look at the ground, mostly), the camera will sometimes lower to an almost over-the-shoulder perspective to provide you with a greater sense of dimension. Those were my favorite parts; you get to see more of the nicely designed architecture and natural scenery
[*] It's not all roses, unfortunately; that fun camera trick can lead to gameplay frustration at times. Some rooms have quite a bit of depth from the viewer's perspective, and the action sometimes leads you to the back of them. [*] That kinda sucks because you, the player, assume the role of Urralia's Harbinger, a mythical entity whose sole job is supposed to be preventing this sort of thing. Luckily, you're pulled out of the apocalypse into a magical dimension by a witch who can manipulate time
[*] With this twist, it's your job to connect with the key movers in the catastrophe. You'll enter mystical portals that transport you near one of four major characters the morning of the apocalypse. It's up to you to figure out what role you can play during that day in each characters lives in order to thwart the inevitable

[*] The gameplay is largely button-mashy, hack-and-slash ARPG faire. You've got your light and heavy attack that you can mix up for a few combos, some specials to whip out against tanks/bosses/crowds, and, of course, a slightly overpowered dash that can get you out of basically any situation
[*] I think the dash being toned down just a touch (some combination of fewer iframes, shorter distance, or longer delay) would vastly improve the balance of combat. As it stands, it's just too easy to avoid damage. This is especially true once you figure out that you can dodge cancel almost any animation
[*] In fact, I've forgotten what the healing mechanic is in this game. I needed it so rarely that didn't have a chance to sink in
[*] The other mechanic chipping away at the difficulty balance is that you actually have competent CPU companions throughout most of the game. As I mentioned in the story portion of the review, each run starts with you choosing one of the for major characters' portals and working with them. What I didn't mention is that they accompany you to help you cut your way through the enemy hordes
[*] I know, I know. It's a weird complaint to have. Most CPU companions in games are worthless. Here, though, they're so good at drawing aggro that you can mostly just kite enemies toward them then circle around to backstab
[*] As far as replaying the game goes, I don't see that happening anytime soon. The introduction of the time travel mechanics was the big hook, and you can really only experience that once. The combat, while satisfying, isn't challenging enough to draw me back in. Upping the difficulty and replaying isn't appealing either due to how easy it is to dodge.

[*] Still, though, the combat does get stale and the story is a bit hackneyed. Why does it always have to be the apocalypse in time loop games? Why can't it be something else? Why not going back in time to prevent a murder? Or to stop a war? Maybe time loop in order to make something good happen? There's so much more to the world than its end. I'd rather play a game with a unique narrative hook than one that thinks that dramatic tension can only arise from the apocalypse

Ce jeu vous propose une aventure rythmée par des personnages passionnants qui sont au nombre de cinq (six avec vous).
L’histoire est intrigante, deux climax m’ont étonnamment surpris, un en milieu de jeu et un autre en fin.Le premier est inattendu, il en est presque effrayant, quant au deuxième il m’a surpris par sa nature.

Ce que j’aime par-dessus tout à travers ce jeu, c’est que vous êtes plutôt libre du déroulement de l’histoire.
La façon dont vous évoluer dans l’histoire ne dépend que de vous et de vos envies.

Petit point musique, “The Cage” est une musique incroyable que je vous recommande d’écouter ainsi que “You Picked up the Wrong Rodentian”.
Elles vous donneront une bonne idée de ce que le jeu peut vous proposer en termes d’ambiance.

Porradaria e mistério em um loop temporal. Omensight segue a linha do jogo anterior, Stories: Path of Destiny mas com tudo muito melhorado. As legendas BR são de alta qualidade, dá pra ver que teve um esforço e não apenas uma tradução simples. Outra melhoria muito bem vinda é que o jogo não é repetitivo, mesmo com o tema de loop do tempo. Não há necessidade de repetir uma fase várias vezes para coletar XP ou “dinheiro”, você só joga de novo para explorar áreas novas ou fazer escolhas diferentes.

O combate é mais fluído e com uma boa variação de golpes, dá pra usar partes do cenário contra os inimigos e algumas batalhas são bem intensas e desafiadoras no modo mais difícil. Recomendo escolher “Difícil - vem com tudo” na dificuldade de combate.

O lado da investigação é secundário, o mistério se resolve sozinho apenas completando as fases. Nesse ponto, recomendo escolher “Guiado” na dificuldade de narrativa. O modo “verdadeiro detetive” não adiciona nada e até complica o entendimento do enredo. A história eu achei boa e o fato de haver um final verdadeiro fecha bem a trama.

After 3 replays, completing all achievements and 38H accumulated. I can safely say this game has earned its 10/10. I'm almost ashamed it took me this long to give it my review.

I enjoyed going through it each time I did. The visuals, the story being told, the immersive world with snappy combat that is easy to learn, hard to master. Playing it feels like a breath of fresh air whenever I've played another game with an overcomplicated game mechanics and self-indulgent universe and graphics.

I would sincerely like to see more of Uralia should Spearhead Games decide to give it another gander.

Fun until it started wanting you to precision jump using a control scheme that is "point the mouse in the right direction and push a button to move." As one might imagine, in a 3D game, that can be a little vague. Oh, and the camera likes to unexpectedly move too, while you're mid-jump. And then it wants you to fight a boss using jumping then attacking. Except if it doesn't target the boss (using the same vague control scheme), that means you do a slam attack. Which can, of course, lead to you slam attacking into lava and dying and having to rewatch a largely unskippable cutscene.

It's a neat little game. It's not THAT neat.

Ce jeu possède des qualités mais, malheureusement, le manque de polish global a fait que j'ai passé une mauvaise expérience. Je ne peux donc pas le recommander en l'état.

En soit le jeu est tout à fait jouable et je suis parvenu jusqu'à la true ending en une dizaine d'heures.
Mais les combats brouillons, le fait de devoir refaire plusieurs fois certaines sections ainsi qu'un mode difficile peu intéressant (globalement on prend plus cher et certains passages n'ont clairement pas été testés dans cette difficulté tant on meurt gratuitement) fait qu'on passe pas un super moment.
Et l'histoire simpliste ne suffit pas à nous garder intéressé.

C'est typiquement le genre de jeux qui est bien sans être très bien ou excellent. Et malheureusement, en 2024 c'est compliqué à recommander. Il y a des tas de jeux de grande qualité sur Steam. La concurrence est rude.

Il faudrait juste fixer quelques petites choses. Par exemple le fait de prendre des dégâts en fin de cinématique (on ne peut pas bouger donc on se la prend automatiquement), c'est vraiment frustrant pour rien.

ça reste un jeu sympathique pour son côté enquête et embranchements narratifs. Mais n'y attendez pas grand chose de plus.

Story - great. Told out of order, and in an extremely compelling manner. You'll get a lot of fragments, and there's a lot of twists.

Combat - like the batman games. take that how you will.

Art&Music - I really liked it. The environments are nice and the music is great.

Charm - high. The game is extremely smooth, fun and well refined.

Verdict: Recommend. Not for people looking for something exceptionally deep, or a game you can chill out to - but it's a fun experience.

Хорошая игра и я бы рекомендовал её к покупке, но есть несколько недостатков которые слегка раздражают под конец прохождения.

Из плюсов:
* СЛАВА ВСЕМУ ЧТО МОЖНО - ЭТО НЕ РОГАЛИК. Если ты умираешь то начинаешь с чекпоинта, который обычно рядом с местом гибели.
* Неплохой сюжет и его подача
* Сама по себе идея расследования и исследования разных последовательностей событий интересная
* Игра в целом напоминает метроидванию, только вместо получения новых способов передвижения ты получаешь улики (omensights), которые позволяют изменить последовательность событий чтобы увидеть их с другой точки зрения.
* В целом авторы игры во многих моментах задумывались об удобстве игрока
* Игра адекватной продолжительности, поэтому ограниченное количество локаций не успевает надоесть.

Недостатки:
* Нет возможности пропустить кастцену целиком, только текущую строку диалога. Поэтому когда умираешь на боссе в 5 раз немного раздражает жать много раз на пропуск диалога.
* Хаотичная боёвка: она простая сама по себе, но некоторые противники в финальных частях игры просто раздражают. Множество одновременных атак из разных мест, неблокируемые самонаводящиеся атаки, и вишенка на торте - непробиваемый щит на несколько секунд после ОДНОЙ атаки по противнику - это вообще кого так осенило?!
* Некоторые ветки событий просто пустые - они не дают значимой информации и по-сути просто повторяют уже изложенное в других ветках, но их тем не менее придётся пройти для получения хорошей концовки. Особенно раздражает одна из веток за Драгу в финальной части игры, логика в которой отсутствует напрочь и ты весь забег думаешь "Что я делаю и зачем?!".
* Из мелочей - режим "True Detective" который закрывает сферу расследований, показывающую собранные улики. Вот правда - зачем прятать основную фичу игры? Не включайте его.

Omensight is quite the unusual game, however I believe I can definitely say it's a unique genre blend.

Technically, Omensight is a hack n slash' fantasy action game with an extremely simple RPG upgrade system, however it's really a detective game at heart. The basic premise is this: The world of Urralia is on its literal final day as the eldritchian entity, Voden, is unleashed, and the only people capable of stopping it are distracted by the war between Urralia's two major nations, Pygmaria and Rodentia. You play as the Harbinger, an ancient warrior whose existence is said to either warn of the apocalypse or bring it, and your goal is to use time travel to rewind the final day and discover who caused the apocalypse, how, and how to stop it before Voden devours the World Tree which is the source of all life and what allows you to time travel in the first place.

To facillitate your investigation, The Harbinger can soul bond with certain people whose corpses you find in the past. This allows you to travel back to wherever they were at the beginning of the last day and follow them around in order to gather information on the events which precipitated Voden's release. Before your imagination goes wild, there are really only FOUR major players in these events with a hidden fifth for the true ending. However, whenever you come across a major revelation, The Harbinger will gain an Omensight which will allow you to show that revelation to the characters you're following and change the course of events for the day so you can learn more.

Bizarrely investigating isn't all you're doing as Urralia is in the middle of a major war, and you're allying with people of opposing factions throughout your investigation. This means that you will often have to take up your sword to defend yourself and your partner, and this is where I think the make or break of the game will be for a lot of people. The combat in this game is perfectly serviceable for what the game is, and you have a decent toolset and enemy variety to keep things mostly stimulating. However, depending on how you play the game, you might be doing a LOT of combat, and you might have to replay portions of days multiple times in order to progress which can make the combat of the game feel even more repetitive than it actually is. It doesn't really help that you can trivialize combat quite easily on lower difficulties by just exploring the levels and looking for as much upgrade currency as you can. The game tries to keep up by throwing a lot of shield enemies at you later on, but all that does is just make you spam heavy attack. Personally, I didn't have a problem with the combat, and I especially like the partner system with different area attacks depending on who you're paired with for the day (except Indrick cause he's a git), but Ithink it's going to turn off a lot of people with how shallow it is or those just looking for a detective game without a completely different gameplay style inserted to extend the length of the game rather than mechanics which better suit the genre.

This game is an acquired taste is what I'm trying to say. I was personally into it for the story and the characters, plus going through the levels and looking for hidden secrets like the breakable walls was fun for a time. I just think the runtime of the game is a tad too long and the action gameplay wears out its welcome as a result. Either more options needed to be introduced to the action gameplay later on to keep that side of the game stimulating, or the game could have been shortened toits benefit. Still, I would wholeheartedly recommend this game to people who are into narrative games and detective games as that side of the game is quite interesting, and I love the characters.

As a side note, True Detective Mode wasn't thought through. It allows you to investigate on your own without hints, but it also takes away the Investigation Orb which is little more than a way of keeping track of the information you've gathered throughout your playthough. Considering it's visual representation of your progress and if you need to replay certain sections of the game for more information, playing without it is a waste of time and could lead to frustration lateron in the game.

I've played 2 games by Spearhead Games. Stories and this, both are absolutely excellent with a fantastic, semi-time loop game mechanic. This is a more mature story, but still fun and utterly enthralling.

A pretty neat little short game. I definitely enjoy it as it actually brought me back to the ps2 style of games back in the day.

At first I was enjoying the gameplay, and the story wasn't entirely sucking me in yet, but about an hour in I was surprisingly invested in the story and characters. I believe the are well done, and I came to enjoying each one.

This game is perfectly playable on the steamdeck so long as you switch compatibility layers to proton 8.0-5. As if you don't than you'll get video corruption for some reason.

It's short and sweet, and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Also make sure to reload your save after "Beating" the game to go for the true ending.

Let me start off with this: I'm aware that this isn't a AAA game. I understand that.

Rating: 3/10

Omensight is something I had on my wishlist for a while. Having picked it up for $10 during the 2024 Autumn Sale, I can honestly say that it's not really worth that much. At least to me. The game's story is great. It's the only reason I kept playing and didn't refund the game. The gameplay is lackluster, to say the least. With that said, let's break it down.

Gameplay:
There are 5 levels. Period. For the entire runtime of the game, you play in 5 levels. It gets tiresome pretty fast, and then you realize you still have more to go. Some things change at points, but it's not enough. With that, you have the lackluster, and sometimes downright frustrating, combat. The combat is simple. X is a melee attack, you can jump attack, you can dodge. As you progress, you get some other abilities, but that's the gist of it. It desperately wants to be Devil May Cry or one of the Batman: Arhkam games, but it falls well short. And even with that, I'd put it more in the realm of something like Hades or maybe The Witcher 3. In comparison to any and all of those, this is a vastly inferior game.

When you get further along in the game, encounters quickly become you vs 10 or so enemies, who all attack fast and, sometimes, relentlessly. If you play on Hard, their damage also jumps up quite a bit as the game progresses. However, even with max upgrades, your damage doesn't quite make up for it. Combos are hard to use effectively, and the fact that your "special meter" depletes between combat encounters is ridiculous. Also, perhaps it's just my PC, but this game can have some astonishing input delay or input buffering. I'll hit dodge two or three times in tense situation, after having executed an attack, only for the character to attack another time, get hit, then dodge 3 times and stand there like an idiot. It can be incredibly frustrating.

On top of all of that, you then have the level design. Again, there are only 5 levels, so you'd expect them to be densely packed, especially since there's no real variability in them. Alas, they are incredibly linear, and anything that does deviate doesn't give you anything super meaningful in most cases. The only time they really do is for progressing the game, making it less optional and more a requirement for some things.

Next for gameplay purposes, there's the camera. It's barely functional at times. You will have an enemy get behind you, but there's not a way to rotate the camera, and I've yet to see an off-screen attack indicator. If this happens, you're likely to just get hit, which feels bad. But on top of that, you may want to look around to explore what little bit of level there is, however the camera will only let you move it a few degrees. It's infuriating, and a baffling decision for a game like this. This is especially true when you are unable to tell if there's something hidden somewhere you missed because of this.

Then, there's the fact that the game rips control away from you *constantly.* Every few minutes of playing the game, it will rip the camera away to show you something that you didn't really need to see. It's somehow even more annoying due to the fact that you can't move the camera on your own.

Finally, there's the companions you play with during each level. They are incessantly annoying at all points when you're running around. You hit a box, they remark about it. You open a chest, they remark about it. You open a door, they remark about it. You take half a second to do something, they remark about it. It's as annoying as reading that likely was. This goes on for the *entire length of the game,* too.

Now, for lack of a better place to talk about them, are the bugs. Within the first hour of playing the game, I had to restart from a checkpoint 3 times because I got stuck in a chest after I opened it. Also, the first time I launched a level, it just showed a black screen and I had to exit back to the main menu and reload for it to work. Not a great start, and should've been an indicator of the rest of the game. You will also sometimes just get caught in a short cutscene/cinematic, then end up off of a ledge because you were next to it before the game ripped control away from you.

Story:
The only redeeming quality of this game, to me. The story is well written, and had me invested enough to suffer the incredibly lackluster gameplay. While my final score for the game is a 3/10 overall, the story is honestly a 7-8/10. It opens with a fair amount of intrigue, leads you down a rabbit hole, then when you think you know what's happening, it smartly rips that away and starts you down another path. This is by far the best part of this game, and makes me honestly wish that this was a light novel with an even more fleshed out story and choices. If you, like me, can power through the gameplay, you will be well rewarded. However, I still can't recommend the game because of this. I also chose to leave the story section brief, because this is something you should head into with as few spoilers as possible for the best experience.

Overall:
This game could have been phenomenal, and definitely an underrated gem if the gameplay wasn't so poor. It suffers in comparison to the peers which it tries to rival. Under that, though, is a well-written, intriguing story that makes you want to learn more. Given the bugs and gameplay frustrations, though, I must stick to a 3/10, held up entirely by the 7-8/10 story. If you don't care about gameplay and challenge, put this on the lowest difficulty and breeze through it. It will be a better experience than playing it on hard. I would not recommend picking this game up, but if you want to for the story, try to do so when its on sale. $10 is a bit of a hard sell for this, to me. The regular price of $20 is basically robbery in my eyes. The game as a whole is not worth that much.

Good game. Good story.

I would open this with an essay complaint about the controls... but it's plastered everywhere that a controller is recommended,m and I used M&K. So it's kinda my own fault. I can't speak for the controller aspect, but if you use mouse and keyboard, prepare for a pretty steep and frustrating learning curve for movement alone.

- Some plot twists are unpredictable in a good way, others are in a bad way
- The character arcs are quite well done, and while there are some loose threads they're generally minimized and seeing them evolve over time is satisfying
- The combat was very easy for me, even on the hardest mode. Still fun though
- Some enemy design is frankly annoying (immunity!) and unless I missed a way through it, then it's way too common
- Voice acting is actually quite good imo, but it's not hard to impress me with that
- It's quite clear a lot of effort was put into removing backtracking, and they did a very good job with that

took me about 6 1/2 hours to complete the game (not 100%). If you beat the game, I recommend going back through to get all the clues, at least.

Can be boiled down to a retake and expansion on the developer's previous game, Stories. It's bigger and has grander presentation as all the characters and cutscenes are fully-voiced instead of narrated.

For me, Stories became very mind-numbing once you get all the swords, but the gameplay of Omensight has more variety so it never gets as boring. It IS missing a bit of the punch that Stories had in its combat and it does feel a bit limp but it serves its purpose.

Omensight has a much bigger focus on story, calling itself an "Action Mystery" which is an interesting but I don't think it totally delivers. Getting to see different angles to the story and characters' reactions deciding the path is cool but it feels like there's some gaps in the characters' history with eachother that I would've liked explored.

Solving the mystery is cool, but it doesn't really FEEL like solving a mystery since you can only take so many paths.
I actually almost missed an interesting piece of characterization because I picked the right paths at random.
In fact, if you choose "True Detective" story difficulty, you can't review the information you've found from each path so you'll have to remember and there's no real benefit or accolade for this.

Lastly, I think the dialogue is a bit rough and the writing too expository in places but I did end up liking the characters in the end. The performances on Indrick and Draga are great, I think Ratika's dialogue and voice is too cutesy at times to the point she seems out of place.

Overall, an alright games, something you can knock out in a few hours. I personally feel a little unsatisfied with some of story's loose ends.

Had a fun time playing the game, and beat it way back in 2018 for the first time, then recently came back in 2024 to play it again. I only found out this time around that once you beat the game and get a... not satisfying ending, you can load back in and play more to get a [i]better[/i] one.

This was fun to find out, because it opened the option to pick which Omensight you showed the characters, in order to explore all available options. The game just doesn't tell you to open up your save again, and if you were like "Oh the game was ok but the ending was unsatisfying" and didn't go back in, then you just miss out.

If there's ONE THING that I [i]really hated[/i] about this though, it's that you're [i]required[/i] to be a [b]complete[/b] ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for no justifiable purpose in order to get the true ending;
[spoiler]When you show Draga the last Omensight and go with her to show Indrick, you [i]have[/i] to fight him instead of showing him the Omensight you [i]specifically[/i] went there to show him in order to get a piece of information needed to make progress towards getting the true ending, and the game makes you feel like a piece of ♥♥♥♥ doing it even though there's [i]no[/i] other way to get that information that you need.[/spoiler]

Note: For some reason, when entering the first level, the game would always crash... but this only happened on my older, less-advanced laptop, so keep that in mind. Worked perfectly once I upgraded.

It's a Spearhead game, which means it's got good characters (even if you might not see much of them) and story-- and a "back to the past" type gameplay loop. Spectacular voice acting and art. You pick a major character to accompany every day, and your knowledge and abilities affect where you go and what you learn. Then it resets at the end of the day. If it matters to you, the "detective" aspect is largely out of your hands- the game is good at building up the story and providing clues, but it doesn't rely on you to solve it. Still had a great time, but you might get a bit sick of the same three levels after awhile...

First playthrough was 5 hours and 47 minutes. Although I am a thorough player, I also am quite experienced. I'd say, go with around 6 hours of first-time play duration, give or take naturally.
Truly awesome game, kind of sad the OST doesn't really get that much relevance, but it did a great job at creating atmosphere. Immersive gameplay.. [i]kinda[/i]? I mean, it definitely lures you into the story and the ending is certainly not what you would expect when you first start playing. Graphics are very interesting, it's a very nice mix of modelled 2D textures, not meant as a downgrade. Yes, it certainly is not a triple A title, but for around 20 bucks and for an indie game, definitely great game.

[b] Performance and Feeling [/b]
It mostly ran perfectly smooth, usually when it loads between levels it experiences frame drops half of the time, but nothing that would impact gameplay. Had one or two frame drops during cutscenes as well. I'm playing on a 2018-era semi-high-end gaming desktop with full graphics settings and a 2560x1440 screen, nothing to complain really.
The camera perspective/movement can be something you'll need to get used to. It not only is during fights quite often placed in a manner that makes it quite hard to not get hit or even see the enemies, but it is quite unstable and loves to just yank around the character with no clear idea of where it actually wants to stay.
I played with Controller (and manual camera movement is basically useless, sadly), specifically a DUALSHOCK 4. The game does not have buttin icons for the DUALSHOCK series at all, only XboX controller buttons, which does lead to button confusion on occasion, especially in the head of battle. Character movement was pretty smooth but I dare say you didn't really have any ability to walk carefully. You don't need it most of the time, but there are certain level parts where your camera is placed inconventiently far away or in a bad spot and you have to step by step maneuver your character, which would be easier with more sensitive control. But it works fine regardless! [i]You might just fall down or off the map here and there...[/i]

Amazing and innovative story, the entire atmosphere and setting is also really nice. I am quite sad, however, that there are no character customization choices, at all. You play as a [spoiler]female supernatural being without a personal name, you just get called "Harbinger"[/spoiler].
Characters, simply put, quite intriguing. Especially the voice acting did a really good job. Though, me personally, I did get a little annoyed by Ratika's voice every now and again (lucky there's forced subtitles).

I picked this up after playing and really enjoying Stories: The Path of Destinies.
This did not disappoint. It builds upon the foundation and formula of repeating scenarios with different choices to get alternate outcomes and more.
The graphics are a bit more refined too and the colors really pop in certain areas.

The story and characters are all wonderful and charming, I found my self enjoying all the main cast, a hard thing to do.
My only complaint s the combat can feel a bit unwieldy and clunky at times, due to the finisher animations when killing an enemy, something Stories had as well.
That and for some reason the game is kinda demanding to run. It a nice looking game, don't get me wrong but it feels like it's pushing my PC harder than it should.

Overall it's a great little that you can play in short bursts since it's not super long. Would recommend.
RIP Spearhead Games, I loved your narrative, animal people games.

I'm surprised I haven't heard more people talk about this game. It has a super well thought out and interesting story, cool timeloop mechanics, and lots of interesting lore! It kept feeling fresh when it could have easily became repetitive with the timeloop mechanic. I felt like each time I restarted the day something new was happening. It took me about 7 hours to 100 percent and complete one run. Well worth it for $20!

Wish I could rate a game postively/negatively without the 'recommend' feature. It's enjoyable, but not for everyone.

Not a bad game, but not really... a good one either? While the concept is interesting, I felt the execution was lacking. The combat was middling and the camera angles became frustrating; some exploration and choices would lock you out of storylines. I wish there was a way to be able to choose which omensight to share or to not share it at all. The most interesting part of this game for me was reading the collectible memories for character backstory, but I wasn't invested enough to chase all of them down.

High points are definitely the beautiful environments and the interesting characters/world. If you don't care about boring/slightly frustrating gameplay, this game is worth getting.

I liked this developer's previous title and the clever way they integrated time travel into it and this game manages to accomplish the same thing, but even better. It's pretty novel to be able to use pieces of information from different playthroughs to influence the story bit by bit until finally culminating in a satisfying finale. All of the main characters in this game are unique and interesting in their own ways. Even though I thought the story was a bit slow at first, later on it became fun to interact with these characters and see their different perspectives and reactions to developments in the story. Overall, the characters and premise are the best parts of this game and I would definitely recommend it, especially to anyone who has played the previous game by this developer.

However, there is one major downside to this game, and it's the combat. In theory, the developers give you numerous amounts of combat tools to engage in each encounter, but the enemies are simply annoying to deal with. Any enemy has the ability to do a melee attack from any range, meaning that they are a threat to you no matter how you position yourself in each fight. Later on in the game, you start to encounter shielded and ranged enemies and pretty soon you have to spend a significant amount of time on defence, running away from attacks from every angle. On top of everything, this game uses a mostly fixed camera, which makes it impossible to see some attacks from offscreen. I still recommend this game for the characters and plot, but would say that playing this game on Hard difficulty like I did isn't worth it. I would recommend you stick with either Normal or Easy mode and simply enjoy the other elements this game has to offer, instead.

Overall a GREAT game, a short and sweet experience that plays well and is a delight to play. If you want to play the game, that's about it. The ONLY advice you should hear before the game, is that if you want to see every event on a first playthrough remember this: if during a mission you are presented with a split where one of the two options requires you to open a sealed door, then opening that sealed door will advance the "Act". Once you finish an Act, you can't go back to replay the missed content until you finish the game.

For a more complete review:

Good Things:

- Style: The game is quite pretty, and the soundtrack is good. Some highlights of the sountrack manage to actually be amazing, but these are few and far between.

- Story: The story of the game is intriguing and well-paced. You will come to care about the main characters quite quickly as you progress through the game and revisit each location multiple times.

- Combat and Progression: When working, the combat is very smooth and quick. The character progression is also simple and fun!

Bad Things:

- Clunky: The game is quite clumsy in many aspect, chief among all is that there is no way to skip cutscenes. In a game about time-loops, it's REALLY weird that wanting to replay the game you have no way to quickly reach the gameplay. This is also happens on a regular playthrough when you die, as often checkpoints are put before a long cutscene.

- Not a Mistery: The game presents itself as something of a "detective" game, while it is not. There are no "real" choices to make in order to solve the mistery, you just have to play and sometimes make a different choice. I actually advise making the wrong choice on purpose most of the time as that will just give you a better experience.

I played this game a while back and every now and then I just have an urge to come back and replay it. The game isn't anything special, it's a simple and nice hack and slash with some cool detective mechanics when it comes to the story. The difficulty is adjustable and the game can be either a nice relaxing experience or genuinely difficult. Very sweet and cool little title that I will always recommend.

Интересная идея, но реализация подкачала. Сюжет пойдет. Персонажи все мутные, помогать им не хочется. Бои очень слабые и не требующие особых навыков даже на максимальной сложности. Плюс ко всему игра периодически начинает работать нечестно - включает диалоги, которые мешают уклониться от атаки, и не получить урон, добавляет замедления которые ты не включал, которые мешают и сбивают с толка. Игра заставляет смотреть одни и те же кат сцены. Визуальное оформление тоже спорное.
Попробовать можно, но лично мне показалось очень скучной.
