Trash Game
I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Игра представляет собой короткое путешествие по мистическому мирку, большая часть которого представлена большим особняков. Чтобы путешествие было подлиннее в игру добавлены загадки и препятствия. В большинстве своём вся сложность сведена к открытию дверей. Двери в доме с хитрецой, открываются последовательно, открытие связано с выполнением определенных условий - это или поиск открывающего предмета, или нахождение персонажа в нужном месте. Игра проходится быстро и не оставляет после себя никаких положительных впечатлений.

Игра - короткое исследование дома как локации. Из-за того что короткая нету записи в игре и главы - двор и подземелье можно пройти за 5 и 3 минуты соответственно. Остальные две главы по сути одна локация - это собственно дом, в котором в основном и проведёшь всю игру.
В прохождении есть вариативность с самой продолжительной и большой второй главой - загрузиться могут наугад несколько вариантов, где один предмет и помещение расположены по иному (автором сделано два вида устройства локации и какая вам загрузиться - это рандомно). Хорошее в купе с оптимизацией визуальное исполнение (для инди приключения от одного разработчика) , приятная музыка (хотя мелодия в основном всё время звучащая всё-таки приедается) и звуковое наполнение потусторонних звуков, возможно испугающих "трусливого" игрока своей неожиданностью. Скримеров физических или потусторонних в игре нет.
В игре есть истинная и ложная концовка (а так же концовка крысы, выйти на которую вероятность близка к нулю, из-за того, что хоть она и на виду и ведёт к неверной концовке, игроку подсовывают более простой и логичный вариант, хотя ему он покажется не простым, ведь он всю игру прошёл, что бы его получить. Скрытый нaёb разраба), но по сути она одна. При выходе на ложную (и крысиную), вы не получите никакой концовки, просто финальная дверь будет закрыта на три золотых засова и если вы какой нибудь из них не откроете во втором акте (но играя в нём вы ещё не знаете того, что своими действиями там, вы эти засовы открываете), то попасть за неё не сможете и останется только (прочитать записку) и выйти из игры (хотя титры зачем-то показывают вводя в заблуждение, что типа это и есть конец игры). Для выполнения же истинной концовки нужно правильно ответив на загадку (а можно ответить неправильно, но ты об этом не узнаешь, потому что тебе об этом не скажут и ты подумаешь, что решил загадку правильно. Занятный П0дbёб) открыть детскую комнату и найти настоящую запчасть (но ты об том, что она возможно не та, что нужна для открытия замка, опять же не узнаешь, потому что тебе об этом не сообщат и когда ты её всунешь она подойдёт. Снова от разработчика П0дbёб). Финальная битва с потусторонним получилась и странной и скучной. Странной потому, что тебе не объясняют. что с ним надо делать, скучной потому, что пока догадаешься станет скучно, да и собственно процесс выполнения весёлым тоже не назовёшь. В общем просто исследовать в доме интересней было. Если бы ещё были в игре достижения, то это бы дополнительным стимулом для выполнения и решения всех запрятанных в доме загадок, а так даже об их существовании в игре игрок возможно не узнает: не заметив и пройдя мимо загадки с картиной и если загрузилась иная заготовка локации дома в которой нет книжки с литерой W, а так же не откроет сломанную дверь на первом этаже, за которой включит иную музыку (но основная всё равно продолжит звучать, налаживаясь на другую более громкую. Косяк разраба)
Its not scary at all I saw one monster no jump scares its much like the first one there are multiple endings.
Do I recommend the game there were no bugs or issues with the game and the game is ok it took over an hour to complete so I will recommend it.

Ну что сказать? Игра неочевидная ровно настолько, насколько это возможно. Приписка хоррор здесь однозначно лишняя, а вот нписать: скука - это бы стоило. Бессмысленное бессюжетное брожение по непонятному особняку. Всё, что в игре хорошего - это музыка. И то меня напрягал косяк с тем, что музыка исчезала при переходах из комнаты в комнату.
Чушь полнейшая, скукота и никакого хоррора. Исполнение тоже оставляет желать лучшего. Худое управление, без возможности бега, приседания и прыжков, слабая система взаимодействия с окружением. А ещё бедным разрабам оказалась неизвестна кнопка F или С для фонарика. Если бы могла - поставила бы миллиард минусов за всё, кроме музыки и Mr.Potato&Onion

A little spooky at times but fairly mild in content.
Not a good game at all. How do these thrown together horror games keep making it onto steam?
It's another case of someone building a fairly authentic, if cliche'd intro and then just throwing a few rooms together until they had enough to call it, albeit generously, a game. And generous I am being as it took me less than an hour to finish. Yes I know there are other endings but I was so underwhelmed the first time around there was no incentive to play again.
The game starts with the standard horror setting - a dark, wooden forest with standard eerie looking church with a crypt and nearby haunted mansion. To be fair to the game there was a well done, fairly chilling moment in the crypt when I caught a glimpse of something horrific in the distant dark. But that's it, for the remainder of the game, nothing even remotely scary happens. Or anything much at all I'm afraid. And for a horror game that's enough to not recommend it. You will not get your kicks here.
There's a bit of the usual mind-melting moments where scenery is rearranged behind you that has come as standard in modern horror games, but beyond that moment in the crypt I did not feel remotely threatened at all.
And for a game that doesn't give much it's inordinately fussy when it comes to player input. I lost quite a few minutes at the start as I couldn't open a locked gate with my crowbar. I didn't realise that I had to be precisely 2&1/2 to 3 feet away, offset at an angle of about 22degrees, to trigger the magical floating crowbar animation. Then I immediately fell down a ditch in the garden beyond and get stuck, and I was close to packing it in when I was thankfully able to jump back out again.
Sound and graphics are a mixed bag as well. Sound was pretty unremarkable in general, beyond a very weird breathing sound in the intro area that always came from behind you. And it was so constant without any hint of a threat that it came off as just an odd design choice rather than an atmosphere builder. Graphics wise it's all very standard, albeit a bit too overly dark.
The story building notes you find are just poorly written, grammatically incorrect nonsence. And after a bit of wandering around the mansion, collecting key and other objects to unlock more doors, the game just shudders to an end. With nothing more than another stupid document to read.
Avoid at all costs.

Well, I have to hand it to the developer. I didn't think you'd come up with anything as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wacky as the ending of the first WOODEN FLOOR but here we are.

I'm not normally one to play a series of games out of chronological order, but given that this was brand-new and severely lacking in reviews thus far, I figured I might as well try to get in early. Unfortunately, my experience with [i]this[/i] game makes me less than excited about playing the first instalment, period...
Simply put, this is one of the least "user-friendly" games I have ever played.
First of all, there's the nutty controls. Navigate the menu by pressing Space, then hit Enter to select an option? Why?! Then there's the fact that I don't think I've ever endured a game where it's so darn hard to [i]interact[/i] with anything. I mean, the game tells you to "press E", but neglects to mention to "be especially pedantic about where you point the cursor, even when trying to open a simple [i]door[/i] for ♥♥♥♥'s sake (hint: you have to hit the handle as precisely as humanly possible)! Then there's the fact that the "sprint" button, for reasons unknown, only works outdoors, making interiors ofttimes tiresome to traverse. Oh, and whatever you do, DON'T ACCIDENTALLY PRESS THE ESCAPE BUTTON, or you'll be quitting the game...which is especially bad, since...
THERE ARE NO SAVE POINTS. There are Chapter headings, so you can jump to one of four Chapters...but I only found this out by reading a thread in the Community Hub, and even then you have to scroll down the Chapters to work out which one you want, as they're rather unhelpfully identified with screen-shot images rather than titles such as, say, "The House, Part 1". Again: not exactly "user-friendly".
Some more bad points (yeah, sorry, not quite finished yet)! Despite the fact of the sound being otherwise admirably atmospheric, your footsteps make [i]no sound at all[/i] on the wooden floors of the title (or on any other surface, for that matter); not exactly helpful to immersion. Furthermore, there are moments where spectacularly dramatic and almost UNBEARABLY LOUD music kicks in...even though nothing in particular is happening at that moment in the game. As a matter of fact, the sound, on the whole, is a lot more startling than anything that actually happens visually or event-wise: many is the time that an intended "jump-scare" passed me by, in an "Oh, did something just happen?" kind of way. Definitely not a good thing in a story-based horror game.
That's the bad. Now for the downright UGLY.
Not only is this game borderline unplayable, for me personally it was [i]uncompletable[/i]. Twice I verified the game cache, and even went back and re-completed the Chapter in front of it - thankfully all of two to three minutes in length - and [i]still[/i] the final Chapter failed to finish for me. Try these phrases on for size: "Lighting needs to be rebuilt", and better yet, "Paths need to be rebuilt". Meaning I went through a door to find nothing but a huge black void, mercifully insta-killing me when I dared step into it. It's alright, though...a quick peek at someone else's walkthrough tells me I missed all of two minutes' gameplay, during which - surprise, surprise - absolutely ♥♥♥♥-ALL HAPPENS.
Now, there [i]are[/i] a few good things. The graphics are, for the most part, rather nice, and the puzzles and/or miscellaneous mind-feckery that some of the bits get up to are upon occasion a tad interesting (e.g. architecture which changes while you've got your back turned; that kind of thing). But there's not nearly enough inspired ideas here to justify a purchase, especially when I'm surely not the only person on the face of the planet whose computer will stubbornly refuse to allow me to reach the end (just look in my games list and/or reviews to see how many games I [i]have[/i] completed, so I'm sure it's safe to say it's not my moderately expensive laptop that's at fault).
I probably would've given this a bare-bones pass if it wasn't for the aforementioned completion problems, and for a better game I may have gone so far as to report the technical faults to the developer. But for [i]this[/i] game, I honestly couldn't give two figs. Actually: not even [i]one[/i]. Mediocre at best, even if the darned thing [i]did[/i] function as intended.
Verdict: 4/10.
Just finished the game, I think. This game was very nice to look at, the controls were simple and effective, the ambiance was amazingly creepy, but when I finished it, I was really expecting more. Backstory-wise, you get more from the Steam description than you do in the actual game, and the game just felt extremely short. I was expecting the game to really build me up for a scare, but it never delivered. When "The End" rolled up on the screen, I thought the game was messing with me.
Overall, I can respect the eerie ambiance and creepy twists in the games surroundings, and think this is a VERY good job for a one man team. However, at this price, I wouldn't recommend it.
