Neat little VN
Dev added 3 new achieves about 5 months ago and they still haven't moved out of my rarest achievements showcase because so few people play/complete this game. Achieves have a 0.2% rarity/completion rate which kept them in my showcase the whole time. I like having seasonal achievements rotate through the showcase as I complete dlcs and these were in the way.
This game is quite forgettable, meaning that I don't remember much about playing it due to the low impact it had on me.
Removed the game from my account and am hoping the achieves drop out too but not holding my breath.

Extremely short, even for the price. The few screenshots on the store page cover the majority of the scenes you'll see. The trailer is misleading - nothing in the game is animated, it's all static images. The images scream "graphic design is my passion", very cheap and dated looking. The main subject of the story, "Wild Island", looks like two over stretched PNGs of rock and trees. The bad images combine with music that legitimately hurts to listen to.
The game was originally in Russian and translated to English it seems. For the most part, the English translation is [i]passable[/i]. There are times when it impedes your understanding and the bad translation sticks out like a sore thumb. For a text focused game, this is a major issue.

Графика. Ну не всем она сможет понравиться. Лично мне нравится, хотя когда я увидел персонажей даже улыбнулся.
Сюжет. Нормальный, но очень короткий. Одна концовка проходится минут за десять. Благо концовок тут ну просто куча. В начале нам нужно выбрать человека, с которым мы отправимся на остров. Из за этого концовок реально много.
Геймплей. Обычный для новеллы. Ничего нового для жанра здесь нет. Есть инвентарь, но я думаю что во многих новеллах он есть.
Техническая сторона. Багов не заметил, игра не лагает.
Итог. Любителям новелл советую взять и просто попробовать. Тем более что цена не кусается.
Wild Island Quest это очередная визуальная новелла от NLB project, в их узнаваемом стиле.
Если в красной шапочке, всё вытягивал юмор и забавные и абсурдные картинки, то тут ничего подобного нет. Блеклая тень, с криповыми модельками персонажей, и простым не интересным сюжетом.
Я не могу рекомендовать эту игру, но ставить дизлайк не буду, с учётом что это была их первая игра.

Wild Island Quest is not a game, it's a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?".
To answer that question: When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game.
This E-book features Choose-Your-Own-Adventure elements where you make some decisions that don't do anything to change the fact this is just an E-Book. Nobody finished reading a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book and said "Boy, what a great game I just played!". Because E-books aren't games. And neither is this.
This E-Book has been translated from Russian into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel ashamed of itself. Regardless, the language in this game is broken and will put off a lot of gamers.
The topic of this E-book is a CYOA for children... it's incredibly badly made shovelware garbage, with 3D "My first day with Blender" looking static images... it's so bad, it's peak cringe.
Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage.
Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book.
One of the chief problems with failed authors polluting Steam with non-game E-books is that E-books can easily just be presented in a web browser... there's no justification for charging money on Steam for what might as well be a webpage. We don't spend thousands on buying a gaming rig to spend money on Steam for something Chrome or Firefox could do.
You don't have to take my word about how bad the E-Book is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Wild Island Quest has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the E-Book absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for getting past the first CYOA choice, trivial to achieve, but less than 5 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the E-Book. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.
The poor quality of this E-Book is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak reader number was only readers. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only reader activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality E-Book is to be expected.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this E-Book was with readers reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in reader counts for the E-Book. But this only happened once, and isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 5 percent of readers bothered playing the E-Book for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this E-Book to have so many concurrent readers who didn't bother engaging with this E-Book? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game.
That tells us people only really bought this E-Book for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the E-Book just has a couple of readers every week running up the E-Book and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many E-Books like this, with little merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Wild Island Quest is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the E-Book, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. You can get better quality books and comics for free online or from public libraries, or from bookstores for a fraction of the price of this "game". Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.

I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Kısa bir hikâyesi var ancak başarımları açmak için biraz uğraş ve şans istiyor. TL iken kuruşa almıştım ve parasını çıkarıyordu, şimdi dolar olarak çıkarmıyor. Bu yüzden tekrar TL olana kadar almanızı tavsiye etmem, bir şey kazandırmaz, her anlamda.
An interesting visual novel with questionable graphics.
This game has a luck mechanic where you roll a dice and if it is the number needed or higher you succeed, otherwise, you don't. I will say it's unique, never seen it used before in a visual novel.
The story is relatively short but there's plenty to do, it's not the best in the world, but it's not bad either, give it a try! See if you have the survival skills necessary!

From what I have heard over the years, Wild Island Quest is a most unusual game of sorts where it is driven by the story surrounding the 'Wild Island' and your adventures on it, a relatively simplistic enough game that one could get some easy enjoyment out of through the duration of a single night for something a little 'different' as it were!
Considering that I had originally heard of this game from way back in 2015 when YouTube video game critic Jim 'Stephanie' Stirling first covered this title by NLB project, as what intrigued me was not only the general premise and how it was presented but also the (admittedly) amateurish graphics and how it was presented to the player, albeit in a manner similar to that of Tommy Wiseau's 'The Room' movie where it is so bad that you can actually ironically enjoy it, thus making it worth the rather cheap price as it were!
"If you love really creep things, Wild Island Quest is your wretched heaven!" is a description of the YouTube critic from back in the day that could very well describe how this adventure game presents some of it's topics here, considering that how it goes about presenting some of them is a tad... Unorthodox, one might say?
However, it is the bizarre nature of this game's world as well as the graphics only adding to that weirdness that makes this quite an oddly fascinating one to explore, if not to see how many endings you can have the main character and (potentially) one or more of his companions based on choices made in the initial part of the story at Mech-City as well as possible deaths by making poor choices that, without the right companions or items gained by meeting up with said companions and general exploration, result in the death(s) of the party exploring Wild Island as a result.
It should be noted that, for what it is worth, Wild Island Quest is an exceptionally short game even by normal exploration game standards, as I had already achieved my first ending in under an hour and it only took me a further 45-50 minutes to get the rest of the Steam achievements, so bare this in mind if you were hoping to get a considerable amount of story and fun/wacky cutscenes like I was.
Still, I can (ironically) recommend this game here to those who might be in need of a laugh and, for the cheap price that it is going for, you could certainly do a lot worse!
TLDR Version:
• Intriguing world that is portrayed in a characteristically-baffling way to make for unintended laughs and memorable moments (+)
• Plenty of choice offered at the start in terms of what companions to bring as well as what items to have with you prior to the adventure on Wild Island for different playthrough paths (+)
• Companions visually-represented in cutscenes who tag along with you as well as being memorable in often ironic ways with the odd-broken English dialogue every now and then (+)
• Very cheap price for a game that can prove an amusing and unique adventure for the length of a night of exploration (+)
• The game is exceptionally short and could prove frustrating that not more content is expanded upon (-)
• Graphics that are done at a novice level art design-wise will very likely prove to be off-putting for those wanted a more polished experience (-)
• No alternative paths for extended gameplay and even more hilarious moments, even if it was tied back into a final and more 'conclusive' destination at the end like other good adventure games tend to do with theirs (-)
This is a short picture story, not a game. Takes about 20 minutes to click through the pictures. There are several places where you have to make a choice of what to do, and achievements are linked to the choices, so you'll have to "play through" 3 or 4 times to get all the achievements.
As you can see from the Store Page, graphics are crappy and amateurish. Also, sentence structures do not flow well, indicating English is not the first language of the developers. But it's an easy 10 achievements for an hour of your time.

"Визуалка" с довольно всратоватой графикой, но с другой стороны это даже забавляет и смею полагать, что авторы пытались делать что-то сами, а не втупую тырить модельки с интернета (возможно, модельки это заготовки, которые просто внешне поменяли). У меня нет критической неприязни к этой игрушке, но COME ON, она проходится за 10 минут и главный плюс это нелинейность. Если отталкиваться от оригинального ценника в 80 руб за игру, то совершенно точно не стоит. По скидке конечно же смысл имеется, ведь это "изи идеальная игра" и даже карточек накапает.
Дальше я пройдусь по плюсоминусам сего творения (читать только заинтересованным):
+ есть "чекпоинты" с возвратом даже на несколько событий назад. С ними острая нужда в постоянных сохранения будет отсутствовать (в этой коротенькой-то игре, хе-хе...)
+ озвучили довольно годно (я не про голоса, здесь их нет)
+/- условная нелинейность в пределах одного события есть (завязанная в основном на выборе вначале с кем и каким предметом пойти), но она никак не влияет на последующие за ней новые события. Надеюсь, изъяснился понятно
+ в зависимости от друзей, взятых с нами упомянутая нелинейность реализуется один раз, максимум два. Впрочем, игра короткая, а значит и за это спасибо
+/- небольшие проблемы с логикой мира и происходящего, но мы ведь в игре? Поэтому стоит принять условности и странности этого мира
- несостыковки в тексте, впрочем, некритичные.
- переходы на новое событие своей картинкой заранее сообщают игроку о происходящем, хотя текст ещё "находится в прошлом" и только начинает развивать это событие. Особенно это критично, когда ещё не знаешь помрут ли персонажи по тексту, а изображение уже даёт понять, что всё... "кранты"
- наличие единственного параметра "удача" как по мне излишество, ведь её максимум это 6 (и меняется перебрасыванием кубика в начале игры без проблем). На таком значении выбить в опасных событиях максимум легчайшая задача, но таких моментов мало. Тут какое дело, допоясню почему это минус: вместо того, чтобы тратить время на реализацию удачи лишь в небольшом количестве моментов игры стоило бы увеличить ей длительность или качественнее проработать. К тому же, допустим, "удача" маленькая, так ты перезапускаешь сохранение или чекпойнт и перебрасываешь кубик в событии (правда, насколько я понял там всегда нужна шестерка на кубе?)
P.S.: обзор делался в разы дольше, чем игра занимает времени на одно прохождение...

Es literalmente una historia en la cual puedes tomar ciertas decisiones para cambiar el transcurso de ella, simplemente vas viendo las imágenes y el texto en ingles o ruso como prefieras, la historia en si es bastante corta, en terminarlo con los logros al 100% te demoraras aproximadamente entre 15 - 20 minutos como mucho, si lo consigues gratis bueno sacas los cromos y los logros, no se les ocurra gastar dinero en este juego.

saatlerce oynadığıma bakmayın. kart kasmak için o kadar oynadım. yoksa 20 dakikalık falan hikayesi var. ama zaten 1 tl lik oyun çok bir şey beklememek lazım.

This game has plenty of flaws: the writing isn't very good, the dated 3D graphics spoil the mood a little bit, and it feels cheap overall.
But, then again, it IS a cheap game. If you are looking for a game you can finish in a couple of hours (by "finishing" I mean getting all the possible outcome and all the achievements), Wild Island Quest can serve that purpose. After all there are plenty of choices for such a short game, and even several endings.
I just can't help but feel that with some good writing and 2D pictures instead of cheap 3D renders, this game could be so much better...
did not enjoy this game. Poorly made, very limited paths. Due to these limited paths, the game does not punish you at all for any bad decision, they let you redo it on spot. The outcomes of your decisions and the luck system are just a placeholder so there is no need to actually develop a proper game

Do any of you guys remember building awful-looking sets in ancient 3D-modelling programs for junior high extra credit computer courses? Wild Island Quest is that, but with loads of engrish and a plot that falls apart quicker than it takes you to reach the mysterious island the plot revolves around.
Right from the start it's very obvious the developers don't speak english - to be honest, I don't even think they used a translation program for some dialogue, rather they looked at a dictionary and stuck some cool-sounding words together. WIQ's dialogue is less laughably bad and more so bad you need a guide to finish it. The visuals are...well, every character is awkwardly plastico fantastico on top of super generic backgrounds. Audio is...there, I guess? That's about it lol.
Achievement hunters, all included work. Expect multiple play-throughs, but Wild Island Quest can be completed in under 3.5 hours so it doesn't get too stale at least.
WIQ might be worth playing if you've already ended up with it thanks to a past bundle and love boosting your completion stats but otherwise skip this one. I'd go so far as to say this is the worst fully functional VN / choose your own adventure title that's on Steam right now.

I'm a fan of visual novels. If the writing is good and the graphics are decent, I'm all in.
My issue here is that the visuals have nothing to do with the setting. It's a strange story about floating islands with folks that seem to have walked out of a real world setting.
The problem is not only the style, but also the quality. The characters are too raw and simple, seeming like they came out of a school manual from the 90's.
The story is interesting. Has different narrative branches and possible endings, but the visuals really got to me in a negative way.

Wild Island Quest — довольно посредственная визуальная новелла. Сюжет там следующий, что мы попадаем на какой-то летающий остров за своим псом. Встречаем там больших животных и насекомых, и главное - аборигенов. В результате выбранных действий, мы по разному расходимся с каннибалами и по разному заканчиваем сюжет.
Есть достижения и карточки, всё выбивается на раз-два.

Another russian game I didn't know I have it. Looking for my receipt, I bought this game when it was 75% off, because I probably knew it would be a cheap experience. Well, the video in the Steam store page is misleading: there are no moving images in this whatsoever, it looks way better in the video. Also, in my 4K monitor, the game is cropped while in full screen.
Aside from that, I wasn't expecting much. It's more a visual novel than a game (a very short one), with the achievements playing a big part here to make you replay everything. The range of decisions presented to you can go from making you look like a terrible person or someone just trying to figure everything out.
It's not great, but I'll give it a go. Wait for a 70%+ off sale.
Edited: I gave a positive review (with mixed feelings), but right after that I played again and got stuck. So, no.

Игра проходится в течении минут 10, на все достижения при условии прочтения всех диалогов вы потратите около часа, ради халявных 100% и карточек можно купить, но не более. Игра сырая как погреб. Сюжет банален как мем с язем, другими словами такое чувство что в 1000 и 1 раз играете тоже самое только с другой картинкой.
Графика еще более менее в норме, звук меня напрягал всю игру. Я не могу рекомендовать, ну не то... Для бесплатно кое как бы еще сгодилось, но за платно... нет.

O jogo é bastante curto! Dá para verificar praticamente toda a história do jogo em menos de uma hora. Além de ser mais uma novela visual do que um jogo em si. O enredo e diálogos são bacanas e até mesmo os finais são criativos, apesar da história em si ter furos de continuidade em alguns momentos.
Por fim, existe um guia para ajudar a fazer as conquistas do jogo, conquistas essas que podem ser realizadas também em menos de uma hora de jogo. Já as cartinhas vão precisar do jogo aberto por algum tempo para caírem na sua conta.

Nette Geschichte mit Entscheidungen die verschiedene Enden zur folge haben. Achievements und Sammelkarten gibt es auch.Geschichte ist recht kurz. "The Adventourous Four " vom selben -Entwickler ist viel länger und verzweigter.
Trotzdem gefiel mir das Spiel recht gut und ich würde gern mehr von dem Entwicklerteam sehen.

You make a handful of choices and then your friends dad murders a bunch of people. The dialogue is unnatural and the visuals are hilariously bad. Any sane person would be too embarassed to show this to anyone, let alone sell it.

Gdyby usunąć grafiki i zostawić sam tekst i cofnąć się do lat 80 to była by idealna na Commodore 64 czy Atari.

[b]Wild Island Quest[/b], sorti en 2015, est une Visual Novel où l'on incarne Henry qui va vivre la journée la plus intense de sa vie. Parmis la Wild Island.
Je ne m'attendais pas à grand chose avec ce jeu. En fait, je pensais que ça allait encore être un de ces jeux russes WTF où on comprend rien, où le but et le sens réel du jeu n'est pas clair. Et finalement, ce n'est pas (totalement) le cas avec celui là.
Bon, graphiquement, il ne paie pas de mine. Mais par contre, j'ai ri. Beaucoup trop. Les screenshots des modèles, des "panoramas" sont tellement pépites. Rien que pour ça, je vous conseille de l'acheter ^^
Mais sinon, bien que l'histoire ne soit pas hyper détaillée, il y a quand même un peu de travail derrière. Déjà, il y a plusieurs fins possibles, qui varient en fonction de vos précédents choix, et en fonction de qui vous avez choisi pour vous accompagner dans cette galère. Vous devez au début constituer votre équipe de jeunes aventuriers en herbe. Mais vous allez être limité par le temps, car la Wild Island n'est là que temporairement. Il faudra donc faire des choix.
Une fois que vous arrivez sur l'île, vous aurez là aussi différents choix en fonction des personnes qui vous accompagnent, ainsi que de l'équipement que vous avez accumulé avant de partir. Ce qui aura pour effet de vous faire mourir plus ou moins rapidement, ou finir le jeu de différentes façons.
Le jeu se finit en environ 30min. Et il faudra faire le jeu environ 3-4 fois pour avoir le 100% succès.
Il n'y a pas de version FR, ou VOSTFR. Cependant, la version anglaise est compréhensible, avec de rares fautes de grammaire et d'orthographe.

If you genuinely enjoy bad movies, you will probably find this very funny.
Definitely the kind of thing you want to break out with your friends over a bottle of cheap wine.
But if you value quality, this game doesn't have it.
The art is bad, the writing/speech is badly done, the story doesn't make much sense, and some of the endings come from nowhere.
I finished it and have never touched it again.
I tried to read through the games story when i got in the woods, i just started clicking the action and skipping dialogue and finished the game in like 7 mins... Looking for a choice matter games get the walking dead
