great game, been following since beta

A really fun, challenging, and at times frustrating, parkour game. It took me a bit to warm up to it. Back in the early VR days, I played the hell out of To the Top, so this game had a lot to live up to for me. Once I got used to it, this is really a great game. There are three types of challenges for each level; collectables, limited grabs, and time. While some were a breeze, in the harder levels, they can be quite challenging. I initially thought the collecting was the easiest part, but in some of the later levels, it was harder than the other two. The main game gets challenging towards the end, but the last level and the B-sides change core functionality of the game that offer strengths in some ways, while simultaneously giving you a weakness. They are also very challenging levels. By the end, I was playing one or two a night and calling it a day. Beating the levels is easy, but the three challenges are what makes it hard.
Graphics, music, sound, nothing special, but the core gameplay really is fun and I highly recommend the game. Took me about 14 hours to complete all the levels, including the B-sides, complete all three challenges on each level, get all achievements, etc. The price is more than fair for what you get, but if it's on sale, I would definitely pick it up.
I have two critiques.
First, there are times where I 100% grabbed something, and it didn't count. There were times where I wanted to blame the game, but knew I couldn't. Then there were definitely times where I knew it wasn't my fault. This becomes most apparent in the third B-side. Countless times my hand, not my arm, went right through a grab. And it wasn't due to hand orientation, it was facing the right way, lined up perfectly, and it just didn't grab. I know those hands are a bit wonky, but again, I know when I missed, and when the game missed.
Second, and probably the most important, a big mistake I see sometimes from platformers is giving you a challenge to complete, typically a time limit, and not resetting the room when you restart. You can restart the room in this game and everything will go back to it's initial state, but if you just fall off the side, things that are in motion or cycle, stay where they were. In a game that requires a lot of timing, this can be problematic. This is perhaps most apparent in the final level before the B-sides. The platforms very slowly move and after a few attempts, they are very unaligned, sometimes making a level easier, sometimes making it impossible. Restarting takes too long and is generally slower than just falling. So I ended up with a lot of runs that were lost, just because the mechanical timing of the level was wrong for me to make a move fast enough, or before I got hit by something. I don't think this would be a big change, but it would certainly make the harder levels that require many attempts more manageable.
I just want to close by once again saying this is a fantastic game, and if you love VR, love parkour games, sweating in VR, then you'll love this game. Be prepared for a challenge, but it feels great to beat a level that you've spent some time working on.
I love that game, it's very fun. Haven't finished it yet, but the levels are well made and the controls are fun! It gives a feeling of agility and power that you can't get in every VR games. It's a very active game too.

What a fun game to play with a friend
NGL, I was going to make fun of this game for having a banana emoji in it's title but it ended up being a solid VR platformer. Def recommend.

A very solid, polished VR parkour platformer. The core gameplay mechanics are simple, but the level design is quality. There's a gameplay twist in each new "world" of levels to keep you on your toes. There are 12 worlds that took me around ~4-5 hours to beat on a first run, and importantly, there's a LOT of potential replayability. Each level has challenges for collectibles, speed runs, minimum jumps, meaning you can get a lot of this game if you want to. Overall, the game is easy to pickup but hard to master, which is a sign of well-designed gameplay in my book.
If you enjoy VR platformers and the feeling of getting sweaty palms when you need to nail that last jump for a level, I'd definitely recommend this game.
I will say that although I liked this game, I'd call it good, but not great/amazing. I find the core gameplay mechanic to be a bit too simplistic to be really adrenaline-pumping, and the level design, although good, isn't as creative or diverse compared to my favorite game in this genre, To The Top.

This game does everything it promises! Very, very minimalist acrobatic courses. that gives you a time goal / grab goal / collectible goal. Game was really built with time and grab goals at the forefront. A speedrun-style game, without much of the story/fat of a normal 3d platformer.
I think this game is so close to being a very good and fun VR game. There's unfortunately, a few things that are holding it back. It has some nice visuals but then a lot suffers on the gameplay side I think, here's a list of some issues.
- the game is overly precise with the grabbing mechanics. You'll often find your hands failing to grab and just phasing through objects. This makes playing the game quite frustrating as you'll lose runs to what feels like literal bugs. Imo the grabbing should be much more generous and assisted. Something as a big sphere radius around your hands where it coming in contact with anything while holding grab, SHOULD grab.
- It's super easy to miss-judge the amount of velocity you'll get from any given swing, but the swinging also feels a bit inconsistent in this regard, you may be intending to go a certain direction but will end up going in a completely different trajectory and just fall out. Going off purely from the swing angle the player gives is too precise imo and the game should probably have some subtle aim assist in the background assisting you, like pushing you a bit towards where you're looking.
- There's an air grab ability... Only problem: you get it 10 worlds into the game. The air grab ability should be a default, available from the start. it makes the game so much more enjoyable as you can course correct or save yourself from the tiniest mistakes that would normally cost you your life. For some reason the game waits 10 worlds of incredibly hard and hell map-ish level design to give you the ability to essentially do an air recovery. Yes this ability would make the game easier, but difficulty doesn't equal fun imo. Not being allowed any small mistakes in super hellish level design with a million hazard is not super fun. Once I got the ability, the game just immediately felt so much better. But now the problem was the level design relying too much on the usage of this double jump, making levels twice as big.
- hazards like spikes and lasers will just hit your hands that are off screen and make it feel super unfair. If it doesn't happen on screen, forget it, let the player slide!
- later levels start being super, SUPER long just for the sake of being harder, and not give you checkpoints. It's not really that fun to go through a long level only to die at the last part but then have to replay the beginning every time. This wasn't a problem earlier in the game and become one later on...
- Some game-play mechanics like the trampoline felt inconsistent and would often not bounce me enough for me to reach the intended end destination. These should have been much more scripted and launch you toward a set destination by the designers. I literally just jumped over every single trampoline in the first 10 worlds lol
I think if most of these issues were resolved, what you'd have is a nice and concise experience that's very fun to blaze through. Graphics are enjoyable and the gameplay IS fun but only when it behaves. However, there's no way that I can recommend this game at full price, I did most of the game in 2 hours, I completed about 10 worlds and I think that was nearly the entire game. for the full price you can get some amazing VR games that are much more fun. "Underdogs" is a personal favourite of mine!
Genuinely amazing fun in multiplayer, best VR Platformer to date, fantastic movement and feel, cool and innovative level designs, beautiful visuals! Must have for VR users!

It's quality and addictive.
Very solid gameplay and level design! Honestly super polished as well which is a treat for VR games. I played through all levels in about 5 hours. Definitely challenging at parts! I died a lot. Some frustrating moments with glitchy grips but it was solid enough that I made it through.
achievements are fun to grind
A must-have.
I was excited to play this game but at first I was struggling to make the precise movements and wasn't enjoying it that much. Once I was halfway through the game I realized how much I improved. Going back to the earlier levels was really encouraging since I could see the massive difference in my abilities.
If the gameplay looks appealing to you, stick with the game till you improve. You'll love the game, trust me.

Brilliant use of VR in this game. It is a pleasure to keep trying to get past levels in order to progress.
I just hope the updates keep coming with more levels. Also, custom level builder is also needed to complete this terrific game. Custom Levels should be able to be posted for others to enjoy with a 5-Star rating system so we know what levels are best made.
Custom Levels should be similar to Angry Birds' VR custom levels. They did it right, and it keeps people purchasing the game and enjoying the replayability as new levels are added every week.

the movement system to me personally is very unique and fun
love the game
the game devs are always ready to help if something isn't right or bugged for you since VR is a bit buggy sometimes counting in the many different headsets and settings or tools that are out there but the devs are always fast to respond and help
gameplay wise I'm shocked how far the devs changed the little alpha into a game that has a lot of replayability
and little things to collect like new gloves and such
It is super Child Friendly and since it has a ghost system where you can "Toss" against other people´s times displayed as another player you can actually see,
the game isn't dangerous for children
since no one will chat slurs and other profanities at your child but still be competitive enough for Highscore and Clout chasers
it's easy to understand but needs time to be mastered and that's the best kind of game
if you looking for a fun time for yourself
or a fun Game for your kids to explore VR in a Child-friendly and safe manner
You should definitely not skip this little Gem of a game and become Monky

But this is Steam so I have a summarized written version below.
Toss! Is a VR platformer where you fling yourself from grab point to grab point, in the hopes of high fiving a green square, atleast that is toss distilled down to its most basic. Toss has 79 stages and each stage has 3 additional challenges outside of just beating the level. I think you will like this game if you’re the completionist and want to collect all of the challenges. Thankfully those challenges are pretty well designed and varied, but come in 3 categories. Collecting banana’s, time trials and completing the stage in as few throws as possible. The good news is, you can RARELY do all 3 in one go , lending to repayablity There is some overlap in time trials and minimum throws but not always.
Toss! Is not really an easy game, despite its playful art style. And that’s a good thing as an easy platformer is a boring one, and never once did Toss! bore me. The controls are great, I switched from the default trigger grab to grip grab and it works flawlessly. But there is most definitely a learning curve with the game. And it can certainly be frustrating at times.
Overall I am really enjoying this game, but it did take me just 3 hours to beat. But those 3 hours were doing the bare minimum without the challenges. I am now going back and trying to do all the challenges and enjoying the game even more. It sounds like more content is also on the way, but I have no idea what shape that will take.
The levels are easy, the challenge comes from trying to speedrun and use the least amount of grabs to get to the finish. Really fun!
This is the best monkey-type game.

Great skill based game with build in challenges to reach a certain minimum time per level, a minimum number of grabs and to collect all banana pieces. You can play rather casually if you want or go for certain or all challenge types.
We need more games like this that have new ideas and actually use the unique features of VR. Not just an endless amount of generic zombie shooters...

There hasn't been a new VR platformer in quite awhile! So I'm really happy this came out! Its super fun!
TOSS! has quickly made a name for itself among essential VR titles. If you enjoy chasing S ranks or trying to beat your friends times this is the perfect game for you.
This game is really fun and just enjoyable. The game isn't just funny monkey parkour, its instead a fun fast paced parkour game which is enjoyable and even though some levels can fill you with rage, it still is a lot of fun and beating a hard level after a while just feels so good. Really fun game and I hope it gets a level editor for people to create and share their own levels.

Ive been following this game for quite a while and now that it is released im happy to say i love this game. Technecally i got this game for free since i won a key back in 2020 when the dev held an alpha speedrun competion (i won :3) but i still gave the devs my money. So im a little biased.
This game is excellent and very much easy to learn but hard to master. At first you wanna go slowly through a level and collect all banana pieces. Then you play the level again to get it in lower tosses or a faster time. And then you see some crazy way to go even faster in a level. And so on. It is very replayable and very fun. The Tossing Mechanic is very much like the Pushing in Lone Echo, except you have gravity. I have very good VR-Legs so i cant really say if Motion sickness is a problem but i haven't seen anyone really complain anything like that in the Discord.
I strongly recomend this game ^^

I've been waiting for this game for a couple of years now after it amazed me with a limited time demo in a steam demo fest.
The wait has been worth it.
The game is a very fun and easy to learn platforming game where you also get challenges for speedrunning each stage, getting through each stage with the least grabs to objects as possible and collecting the banana in the stage.
I'll keep updating the review when I have more time to play.
