Это линейный 3d симулятор ходьбы с элементами стелс и хоррора. Местами за вами не очень спешно бегают крипы.
+/- Концепция - строго коридорная бродилка, только вперед и вперед. Сделан упор на норвежский фольклор и стилистику, в этом плане - очень интересно.
+/- Головоломки - как обойти крипов. Каких-либо пазлов с ключами, кнопками не имеется (один необязательный замок с кодом есть). Для достижений - найти и собрать записочки, двери.
+++ Графика очень приятная. Даже хочется делать скриншоты.
+++ Сюжет достаточно традиционный для современной Норвегии - одинокая мать, которую бросил муж, ищет непослушного ребенка, которого увезли на некий туманный остров, застрявший в норвежских сказаниях, для принесения в жертву.
- Игра недоделана - последние главы очень короткие и имеют баги в графике.
Тем не менее - игра колоритная, крипы которые есть не что иное как традиционные персонажи норвежских сказаний - тролли, фенриры, разбитая Луна в небе - интересно на всё это посмотреть. Любителям бродилок - да, хорроров - нет, пугаться тут особо нечему.

I sadly weren't able to really follow the story. A lot of reading and not really getting into it.
You're trying to get your son back who got kidnapped by a pedo. It is definitley a walking sim.
I enjoyed seeing the mythological vaessens but... that was it.
I thought it was hard to tell where to go, places where you could move and couldn't looked quite similar.

Really realistic in terms of the folklore. As a Norwegian myself, they hit all the right information of the lore. Sat at the edge of my seat and the attention to detail was great! Graphics as well was insane. Had some glitches at one specific point multiple times (same place every time) when running from the wargs, but other than that everything worked great.

Das Spiel ist sehr spannend und es lässt sich sogar auf norwegisch mit deutschen Untertiteln spielen, wodurch ich schon alleine aus dem Grund 2 Punkte vergebe.

Unsere Protagonistin läuft einen sehr geradlinigen Weg durch den dunklen Wald. Leider bin ich einmal "vom Weg abgekommen" und habe die Orientierung verloren.

Ein paar Monster und mythische Gestalten werden uns im Wald begegnen, vor denen wir flüchten müssen. Dabei können wir sehr oft unsere Taschenlampe verwenden.

Das Ende ist sehr emotional.

Eigentlich wollte ich dem Spiel ursprünglich 6,5 Punkte geben aber die eingangs 2 Punkte kommen noch oben drauf, wodurch ich bei 8,5 von 10 Punkten bin.

Good game, with a low budget, it takes a while to get going, it only starts to get good after chapter 0, but once you start playing with the mom, and walking through woods in the dark, finding texts about terrifying stories from Nordic folklore and encountering mystical creatures, it captures the spirit and fulfills its purpose.

Through the Woods was a really good game. I've had it in my library for a while. I kept putting it off because of some of the reviews on performance. But I'm glad I finally played. Norse mythology is very fascinating to me so I enjoyed it. It is a walking sim. The story was really good and the acting was great. The soundtrack was phenomenal and really helped to set the ambiance in the forest. The story still sticks with me days later after having finished. Highly recommend.

日本語には未対応でしたが、チャプター4くらいまでゲームを進めることが出来ました。
今時よくある内容のゲームだと考えたので、ストーリーにはあまり期待していませんでした。
今時よくあるとは、アトラクション型で多少話は理解できなくても物語を進行出来る事です。
面白いので字幕だけでも、いつか日本語に対応してもらえたらと思うようになりました。
内容によっては、自分のプレイしてきたゲームの中でもトップクラスに入るかもしれません。
しかし、序盤のプレイヤーを少年と思わせておいて実は母親というのは何か気になりました。
それと、何も食べずに走り続けている彼女は休むべきだと思うし、妙な感覚にもなりました。
他のレビューを見ていたら、XUnity.AutoTranslatorなどが使えるらしいのでまた後でします。

Through the Woods ma klimat i świetne udźwiękowienie, które naprawdę robi robotę i momentami potrafi zbudować napięcie. Niestety reszta gry mocno nie dowozi.
Animacje są zwyczajnie paskudne, fabuła przewidywalna, a optymalizacja pozostawia sporo do życzenia. Graficznie bywa przyjemnie dla oka, ale tylko poza wodą — tam wszystko się sypie.
Potencjał był, wykonanie już znacznie słabsze.

[*]I really liked the story even if it was short - the pacing was good and the notes were quite interesting! I don't want to be too spoiler-y but the ending was (for me at least) predictable but it fit well overall and I had a good time!

Replayed the game through chapter selects with a guide, still nothing. Replayed it again for the third time and suddendly it popped with a door I had clearly opened multiple times before in the Forsborg village. That was a bit frustrating...

Очень классный хоррор, с интересным геймплеем. По настоящему проникаешься атмосферой данной игры и переживаешь за главную героиню. Игра на 3-4 часа максимум но они прям идеально подходят что бы игра не надоела и завлекла. Враги все интересные и ваншотают что дает доп. понимание какой ты слабый человечек и опаску нарваться на них. Вообщем я правда доволен и прошел бы ее еще раз так что 10/10

What a game ! Nordic mythology, sound, graphics, music, everything is at the top level. But the atmosphere of the game is what gets under your skin, there were times where I was terrified, and I'm not easily scared. This is something like Alan Wake, but without the weapons, you only have a flashlight... If you love atmospheric horror, play this game, in a darkened room with amplified headphones, and explore, you will be grateful to me later! 10/10

Fun to play. It's basically walking Through the Woods. The trolls (as shown in trailer) aren't hard to pass by. There aren't really any puzzles as well. Mostly walking and exploring. However, the kind of atmosphere it creates, with the monsters and the overall Norse theme, is wonderful and can become thrilling at times. Music design is also very very good. Liked it!

Oof… I guess this game just wasn’t for me. I was really intrigued by the Norse mythology and expected some proper spooky moments along the way. Instead, it mostly felt like a walking simulator. There wasn’t much to do beyond moving forward and looking for items and notes.

On top of that, my experience was pretty laggy and glitchy, which didn’t help at all. Sadly, this one just didn’t click for me, and I can’t really recommend it.

Короткий инди-хоррор, проходится за один вечер. Лор незамысловатый, простой. Но, зато, помимо всего, успеваешь познакомиться даже с мифологией Норвегии. Из плюсов ещё красивая картинка, временами даже очень радующая глаз. Из минусов - плохо оптимизированная. Также из плюсов - приятная атмосфера таинственности и мистики. А из минусов - практически полное отсутствие интерактива с этим, полным загадок, миром. Только и делаешь, что постоянно бегаешь, попутно собирая записки и коллекционные предметы.

В общем игра неплоха, но брать рекомендую только по скидке :D

[h3]Through the Woods is supposed to be a game that relies strongly on the atmosphere of Norwegian folk tales, with the added value of our protagonist’s inner thoughts. What could possibly go wrong, right?[/h3]

Gameplay consists of, well, going through the woods while searching for our lost son. While we are at it, there will be 2 things putting our journey to a halt: exploration in search of pieces of lore and various monsters inhabiting the island. But both of them are actually optional. There is only one point in the game where you need to stop for a while after encountering a threat, instead of just running through any enemy while holding the shift key. The lore part is actually decent, with notes depicting the lives of the island community people that are long gone, and their connection to now transpiring events. These things put together alone would make a C-tier bearable horror experience, but our protagonist brings everything down. Her constant inner monologues and reminiscences from the past will only show how delusional as a person and incompetent as a mother she is. Instead of accompanying her on her journey, you will have a constant urge to drown her in the water surrounding the island.

Bon ce jeu je le recommande si l'on se projette à l'époque de sa sortie (2016), car aujourd'hui il a pas mal vieilli visuellement et on attend d'un walking simulator quelque chose de bluffant. L'environnement est beau et l'ambiance est là mais sans être époustouflant non plus, on ne va pas se mentir.

Cela dit il y a bien une raison pour laquelle j'ai décidé d'y jouer : je cherchais un jeu court, de l'exploration et une histoire captivante, et il remplit tous ces critères.

On y joue une mère qui assiste à l'enlèvement de son fils alors que ce dernier jouait au bord du lac. Tandis qu'elle part à la poursuite de ce ravisseur et de son fils elle semble passer dans une autre réalité où des créatures la guettent dans l'ombre de la forêt. Parmi les vestiges d'un autre monde, des objets et des lettres disséminées nous révèlent des choses troublantes sur ces lieux, son peuple, et ses légendes.

Through the woods accuse peut-être le coup des années passées mais cela n'enlève rien à son histoire emprunte de mystère, entre des mythes scandinaves, le sort tragique d'un village et l'histoire d'une famille qui a traversé quelques tourments.

Hab zwei Stunden gebraucht für das Spiel. Habs über Sale gekauft. Stimmung ist gut düster. Mit Horror Spiel nicht viel zu tun, einfach an gewissen stellen etwas unheimlich. Die Geschichte fand ich auch gut.

Läuft bei mir auf Ultra sehr flüssig bei 100 FPS mit RTX 3060 und AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, 64GB RAM

Ein zwei üble Grafikfehler entdeckt in einer Höhle, so dass man fast gar nichts mehr sehen konnte.

Ist zu empfehlen, wenn es mal im Angebot ist.

La historia esta buena, los personajes la ambientacion y musica. Solo hay escacez en cuanto a proporcionar mas informacion de las criaturas (para quien le interese el folclor nordico). Al no haber tanta informacion o interaccion con el gameplay el juego es casi un speedrun ignorando algunos detalles que se podrian apreciar más (como el arte conceptual del videojuego).

W sumie całkiem w porządku gierka. Sama rozgrywka nie jest może zachwycająca - bywa powtarzalna i trochę frustrująca, ale niektóre pomysły jak walka z wilkami przypadły mi do gustu. Не смог меня ни зацепить, ни увлечь. Абсолютно каждый персонаж разочаровал своими поступками, а вплетенная мифология, увы, не добавила ничего по-настоящему стоящего, что могло бы вытянуть повествование.

Если рассматривать историю в целом, она наполненная, живая и даже печальная - если в нее углубиться. Но именно главная героиня не дала мне окунуться в это. Отталкивающая своей холодностью, подлостью и временами даже глупостью, она заставляет игрока заранее смотреть на происходящее предвзято.

Со временем становится ясно, что события связаны не просто с исчезновением ребенка, а с древним мифом о договоре, заключенном с волком. Условия гласят, что раз в определенный период необходимо приносить ему жертву, а в это время открывается портал между мирами - именно поэтому на пути встречаются самые неожиданные существа.

Игра могла бы быть неплохой драмой, но все упирается в глупость. Холодная мать с синдромом контроля, лишенный внимания мальчик, [spoiler]решивший принести себя в жертву[/spoiler] и слабый папенька, [spoiler]который нырнул в петлю[/spoiler], не сумев доказать свою правоту в суде. Занавес.

Каждый из них наполнен своей болью, но её просто не раскрыли. Два персонажа подаются исключительно через рассказ горе-матери, которая изначально передает все в искаженном свете.

Вот то, что окончательно убило интерес к игре. Симулятор ходьбы, скрещенный с собирательством тонны коллекционок.

В основном вы просто бежите по лесам, болотам и пещерам. Изредка натыкаетесь на записи антагониста, рассказы местных жителей или описания мифических существ. Все это могло бы быть интересным, если бы сопровождалось внутренними монологами героини или хотя бы бОльшим пересказом произошедшего. Но нет - вы просто бежите в тишине. Если для вас звук ручейка или редкий рык очередной бабайки уже атмосфера, тогда проблем не возникнет.

Есть легкий намек на стелс и необходимость избегать врагов, но этого настолько мало и сделано так топорно, что проще просто бежать вперед, чем устраивать танцы с бубном в виде пряток.

В целом, весь геймплей можно описать одной фразой: гуляю по лесу с фонариком три часа.

Прекрасный лес, какой он есть. Ничего особенного, что могло бы сделать игру действительно атмосферной. Некоторые локации будто бы создавались через сtrl+с сtrl+v: те же камни, те же деревья, те же странные обезьяны, патрулирующие тропинки.

Домики размещены по тому же принципу: сначала кажется, что вы уже где-то это видели, а на третий раз начинаете подозревать, что и правда все повторяется.

Внутри домов та же печаль. Один и тот же стол, кровать и пара предметов интерьера. Все выглядит не как заброшенные жилища, а как недостроенные.

Игра крайне скучна и даже виды норвежского леса не способны уберечь от желания зевать. На большущей скидке можно взять, но только если заранее понимать, что это не больше, чем прогулка по лесу, где можно встретить кабана и тролля.

I REALLY wanted to like this game, but sadly it was a pain to get through.
- The second I came to a village I started lagging like CRAZY. Had to turn down all my graphic settings from high to low. The issue dissapeared when I went in to the woods again and came back again when houses appeared.
- SO MUCH walking in the woods. Holy F...
- Monsters are TOO slow and hiding from them is almost impossible. Meeting the troll, the wolves and the zombies was horrible. Wanted to pull my hair out.
- Being clear on which way I was suppose to look when an event happened was bad. Missed a few ones.
- The walking and controls were frustrating as well. No jumping and got stuck on EVERYTHING.

Cant recommend sadly. Stay away people :(

Ну штош. Ещё одна «инди-страшилка», которая обещала потрепать нервишки, а в итоге потрепала только терпение. Прошла игру за 2,5 часа - коротенько, бодренько, и, как говорится, не успела привязаться, чтобы пожалеть.

Хотела вечерний хоррор после завода - получила прогулку по лесу с элементами уныния и лёгкого бессмысленного страха. Игра вроде как про скандинавскую мифологию (я такое обожаю - тролли, фьорды, мистические легенды, вся эта нордическая красота), но тут её подали так… камерно, что я готова была поставить свечку за упокой.

Начнём с геймплея.
Ты - мама, ищущая сына. У тебя нет ни оружия, ни хп, ни, прости, желания жить. Видишь монстра - прячься или беги (бежать кста тоже не всегда помогает, мобы бегают быстрее). Если не успел - умираешь. Но умереть тут, скажу честно, даже приятно.
Никаких эмоций у героини, никакого страха - просто падает, орёт и возрождается в трёх шагах. Я, когда роняю картошку фри на пол, чувствую больше отчаяния, чем она в момент смерти. Зато за смерти дают ачивки в Steam - грех не умереть пару раз ради коллекции, правда?

Оптимизация?
А, да, она умерла. Можно поставить венок на могилку. Временами мир не грузится, персонаж стоит в пустоте, а в пещере с волками я вообще провалилась в бездну чистого rgb - красота! Балдеж, да и только, есчо и на баги посмотрим.

Теперь про сюжет.
Казалось бы, мать ищет сына - тема благодатная, можно выжать эмоции, страх, любовь, боль. Но нет. Игра будто боится собственных чувств. Всё подано поверхностно: диалоги скучные, рассуждения героини будто списаны из дневника подростка, уставшего от жизни.
Чтобы понять хоть что-то, нужно собирать записки и дневники, но игра не ведёт к ним. То есть ты можешь пропустить половину сюжета просто потому, что повернул не туда. Я зачем играю, чтобы потом ещё обзоры на YouTube смотреть?

Из хорошего:
Да, локации симпатичные. Простенькие, однотипные, но иногда прям ловишь атмосферу севера - этот ветер, серое небо, мокрый лес, в котором слышен каждый шаг.
И я ценю, что игра не делит персонажей на «хороших» и «плохих» - моральная серая зона тут есть, и это приятно. Даже главный антагонист - Эрик, не злой, как мне показалось, просто искренне верит в то, что делает.
Плюс за короткость - не растянули страдания на 10 часов, а уложились в пару. Маленькая победа.

Итог: 4/10.
Идея была классная, но реализация... будто кто-то забыл позвать сценариста и режиссёра.
Если бы они отработали как надо, игра могла бы стать чем-то по-настоящему атмосферным.
А так - просто прогулка по лесу, где страшнее всего смотреть на фпс.

Oyun bir anne ve çocuğun, güzel Norveç ormanları içerisinde yer alan bir eve gelmesiyle başlıyor. Önce ufaklık yönetimimize veriliyor. Etrafta geziniyoruz. Kendimi “Norveç bu kadar güneşli ve renkli bir habitata mı sahip?” sorusunu sormaktan alamıyorum (İleride hava bozuyor :). Atmosfer bağımsız bir oyun için ideal tasarıma sahip. Tam “korku nerede gelecek acaba?” diye sormaya başladığım esnada annenin yönetimi bize geçiyor. Oyunun başları dinamiklerin oyuncuya tanıtılma aşaması diyebiliriz. Gerçi pek bir dinamik yok. Tek yaptığımız yürümek, etkileşim için de belirtilen tuşa basmak. Ah unutmadan, bir de el fenerimiz var.

Oyun aslında sadece korku temelli ve mitoloji teması üzerine kurulu değil, psikolojik ögeler içeren bir de hikayesi var. Bu iki kişiden oluşan aile, durduk yere doğaya kendilerini vermiyorlar, bazı sıkıntıları var. Ne yazık ki ufaklık bu sıkıntıları aşmış da olsa anne aşamamış. Kendini bu doğa ortamında bile işine veriyor. Çocuğu ile ilgilenmiyor, ama ona olan sevgisi de muazzam derecede. Yine bir gün geceleyen annemiz, sabah uyandığında ufaklığı evde göremiyor, telaşlanıyor, bir süre sonra küçük bir not buluyor. Notta “Anne, her kalktığımda seni uyuyor görüyorum, bu gerçekten çok sıkıcı, oyun oynamak için dışarı çıkıyorum” yazıyor. Eh biz de hemen ufaklığın peşine düşüyoruz, işte bu esnada aslında oyun başlamış oluyor…

An interesting 3rd person walking simulator I would put between horror and thriller. Not scary, but it has it's moments. Unfortunately, it is terribly optimized as others have mentioned, although I was still able to play it on my Steam Deck without crashes; just frame drops and some artifacting at a couple points in the game. Worth it on a deep sale, not full price.

Decent enough walking sim with some lite horror elements. Through the Woods has solid voice acting and a surprisingly good story that comes together towards the end. The optimization is quite bad and there are near constant FPS crashes and stuttering, but the game is slow paced enough to where they aren't a huge deal. This game leans pretty heavily into Norse mythology, so if you are a fan of that this should be up your alley. I explored a good bit and got a lot of achievements and I finished the game in just over 2 hours, so its pretty short. I wouldn't pay full price, but for the $3 its regularly discounted to its well worth the price.

The best way to experience this game is to go in fully blind. That's what I was doing. It came as part of a package of three games and I had no idea what it was about. All I knew was that it's horror and something with woods so I was interested.

When I started, I was pretty bored at first, expecting that it's just a completely linear walking sim about a mother who runs into the woods, reads a few notes and tries to find her son. It basically is exactly that, a linear walking sim with protagonists that do not really have much personality but after a while, the game becomes more and more atmospheric and captivating.

As you go, you will face many weird and unexpected creatures to avoid, because the woods are kinda in a different dimension. The sound effects are pretty scary, it's dark and you'll never know where they really are and what kind of monster you will see next. The atmospehere is amazing as well and the story is told in many little notes from a distant past. The further you go, the more you learn and the more you will want to explore.

If you get the chance to get this game on sale or in a package, go for it. There are also many collectibles to find for all the achievements. It's not perfect but definitely not bad either.

Интересная вариация на тему скандинавского фольклора. Сюжет в целом норм, но с некоторыми нареканиями. Концовка позволяет выбрать свою интерпретацию и радоваться ей или не особо) Атмосфера местами густая, а местами проседает, но если проходить в один заход, то всё ощущается бодро.

Геймплей минимален. Есть точка А, есть точка Б — надо дойти. Препятствием служат преследователи, от которых нельзя тупо убежать: всего 4 варианта. В половине случае нам надо убежать, в другой половине - засветить врага фонарем.

— Нельзя пропустить заставки. Не критично, но при перепрохождении миссий для сбора коллекционок задалбывает смотреть диалоги.
— Английская озвучка. Если знаете инглиш, ваши ушки будут цепляться за акцент и произношение героини, поэтому рекомендую играть с норвежской озвучкой (там хотя бы за слух не цепляется произношение).

Оптимизация на ПК норм, но поверхности воды и накидка "красной шапки" иногда глитчат. На SteamDeck было полное прохождение без проблем.

It is not very fun. The game is fine, being just a short story with horror elements, norse mytology and Norwegian folklore. The latter really is the only sellingpoint here.

- The game runs nicely and I only encountered one visual bug on max graphics.
- The Norwegian voice acting was tame and soul-less.
- It does not look very nice, apart from model details and some props.
- It was difficult to care for the characters and story.
- The best part was encountering folklore creatures and norse characters, and that is a about it.

Fine for an evening when you are burned out on other games, want to play a walking simulator and possibly have a mild fever.

Атмосферная по визуалу, но довольно примитивная по геймплею игра. Основную часть времени тупо бежишь, бежишь, бежишь... встречаешь местное чудище - посвятил ему в eблeт фонариком (или застелсил от тролля) и дальше бежишь. Мне не хватило количества и разнообразия персонажей фольклора и хотя бы большего взаимодействия с ними.
Также авторам не удалось создать интересный образ и характер главной героини, её комментарии и действия не вызвали у меня симпатии из-за чего и итог истории не пробудил глубоких эмоций и не понятен мне в полной мере.
Собирать записи и страницы дневника , складывать их воедино и пытаться разгадать какие тайны хранит скандинавский лес, пожалуй, единственное занятие, которое мотивировало дойти до конца.
Ставлю 5/10
Невзирая на то, что игра не вызвала во мне бурных реакций после прохождения, пройти всё же рекомендую, хотя бы ради атмосферной составляющей - лично я поймала какой-то особенный вайб от окружения, от мрачных локаций, возможно моя реальная погода за окном на это повлияла...

Игра шикарна. Это пример нестандартного хоррора который пугает вас не банальными скримерами, а бесподобной атмосферой.
- Звуки, музыка, внешний вид монстров, наполнение лакаций. Всё это в совокупности даёт неповторимый опыт.
А сюжет. Он отличный, в нём нет недосказанности, но при этом он раскрывается постепенно. Сама история пробирает, даже без монстров.
Так же хочется похвалить русский язык в игре, конечно есть небольшие ошибки, но они ни мешают погружению.
Оптимизация:
Отличная, игра идёт без лагов на моём корыте, на высоких настройках графики.
В общем я даже не знаю за что игру ругать, просто не за что

The game’s strongest quality is its atmosphere. The Norwegian wilderness is rendered with haunting beauty — twisted trees, fog-drenched trails, abandoned cabins, and eerie stillness define the landscape. It’s clear the developers drew heavily from their Scandinavian roots, as every inch of the environment feels lived-in, real, and ominously quiet.
Sound design is minimalistic but deeply effective. The ambient noise of rustling leaves, distant howls, and the soft crunch of snow underfoot all heighten the feeling of isolation. There’s almost no music, but when it appears, it’s used sparingly and with emotional precision.
The use of Norse mythology is also a standout. It doesn’t rely on the overused tropes seen in mainstream fantasy games. Instead, it digs into the darker, more forgotten corners of the lore — tales of sacrifice, monstrous guilt, and gods who demand blood, not worship. This gives the game a unique voice, placing it closer to a dark folktale than a conventional horror title.
Easy to complete but enough long to go through the story!

It's a bit jank but it's got some solid spooks to it. I loved the forest - it actually felt a little like I could get lost in it without being too confusing.
The trolls were a bit annoying. I made it through without every successfully sneaking - it felt like they'd spot me so easily. All the other enemies felt fair though, and there are saves conveniently placed.

I had a fair few visual glitches with the shadows, and there was one section of a cave which ended up feeling like an acid trip due to textures freaking out.

The plot and dialogue felt a bit weak - the protagonist doesn't really react much to the fact she's somehow swum into a weird pocket dimension full of monsters and Vikings. The little breadcrumbs of backstory were well-placed, but it felt a little predictable with the [spoiler] abusive mother [/spoiler] reveal. I really enjoyed the notes though. I like that there were a variety of stories, but they all wove together to build up a picture of life on the island. I found learning about the long-dead villagers more interesting than the protagonist's missing son quest. Even though I wasn't overly attached to her, the ending where you either [spoiler] continue futilely trying to resuscitate your dead child or press another button to accept it [/spoiler] was a pretty cool bit of narrative game design.

I'd say it's a tad expensive at full price, but worth it on sale.

Played this game a bit ago but.
Initially I did NOT like the game. It felt like a walking sim, and I went into it knowing people were calling it that. I nearly gave up after the village, but I found my way out, and honestly I ended up enjoying it way more than I thought. Beat it in one day.
Is it super pretty or anything, no, the graphics aren't the best, and the voice acting (I played it in Norwegian; not sure how English voice acting is) was okay, but I really REALLY enjoyed the inclusions of the Norse mythology and the way it's interpreted in this story... ;) it goes into more Ragnarök territory which I thoroughly enjoyed, from Vidar and Fenris' famed fight to the wolf brothers (oh I loved their designs and their encounter) and others.
I actually went into this not remembering it was a horror game so imagine my surprise...

If you're looking for something super compelling it might not be for you, what kept me super into it was mainly the mythology and finding out what had actually been happening with Karen and Espen. I still don't understand what even... happened... but you find out some things!

Honestly, I really liked this game. The atmosphere was creepy in the best way, and the whole Norse mythology vibe made it feel different from most horror games. It’s not full of jump scares, but it gets under your skin, and the story actually hit me harder than I expected. If you're into slow-burn, story driven horror, I totally recommend giving it a shot.

The Mother seemed like a narcissist and generally a bad person. So I thought her dialog was annoying.
But the game looked nice and the Norse monsters were pretty cool.

Die Errungenschaft zum Spielende haben nur 20,9% der Spieler (Stand: 06/2025) erreicht und auch ich habe Jahre gebraucht, bis ich mich entschloss, es zu Ende zu spielen. Das liegt wohl an der etwas trägen Steuerung. Ich hatte auch paar Grafikfehler, die ich mit Änderung des Blickwinkels verschwinden lassen konnte. Und dennoch gebe ich eine klare Kaufempfehlung (im Sale), denn der Waldspaziergang durch die nordische Mythologie ist besonders, das Setting ist selten und sehr gut gemacht. Wenn die Protagonistin beim laufen die Nase hochzieht, spürt man die Kälte. Mythologie erwacht hier zum Leben.

Overall, I think this is a pretty good game that's worth going through if you like a somewhat unsettling atmosphere and a decent story. It does have some issues, but they're relatively minor and certainly not enough to make me not recommend it. Still, this isn't a 10/10 recommendation or anything, more like a 6.5-7/10 with an added note of "don't have too high expectations." It starting out as a school project explains a lot, and with that in mind, it deserves some compliments.

Sorry aber ich wollte dem Spiel eine faire Chance geben und habe es 2x neu installiert, in der Annahme, dass einige Daten nicht korrekt runtergeladen wurden. Dennoch hängt es sich ohne Grund mitten im Spiel an mehreren Stellen einfach auf und schmiert komplett ab, so dass ich es innerhalb von 2 Stunden "Spielspaß" schon 6x! neu starten musste.
Das Spiel hat auch keine Speicher-Option soweit ich sehen konnte, sondern nur die Runensteine die am Anfang von verschiedenen Abschnitten stehen.
Ich habe auch versucht den alten Spielstand zu löschen, weil ich vermutet habe, dass da vielleicht das Problem ist, aber auch das geht anscheinend nicht? Nehmt mich hier aber bitte nicht beim Wort!
Ansonsten kann man sagen, dass das Speil sehr schön ist und auch eine gute Grafik hat. Die Abschnitte sind nicht riesig und auch die Story ist sehr interessant, was es um so ärgerlicher für mich macht, dass es bei mir so zickt.
Bei anderen hat das Spiel super funktioniert, ob man dann seine 20€ dafür ausgeben möchte ist da jedem selbst überlassen, sonst kann man es ja noch zurückgeben.

Good in every ways but a little bit boring gameplay. Good story, good environment, good sound, but isnt
challenging, the more u can get in trouble is losting in the map because is open world as much as it can be. But at the end is a good game waste an afternoon and to spend max 5.00 $

- Very nice adventure game with Scandinavian folk tale/viking and mythology stylish stuff.

- Game environments are very detailed and beautiful and got nice looking different monsters.

- Story or game play nothing special but this type of small indie publishers game it`s very good.

- Sound acting in English language don`t feel very good but maybe in Norway language it`s much better and water textures very poor/too bright looking and in my opinion not much horror in this game maybe more an exciting adventure style, if you are a horror fan and play them lot.

- Game length not long if you rush through it but if you collect all collectibles etc. it`s way longer,

- Game is very easy, mostly walking simulator feeling and enemies not very challenging if you like easier games.

- Story/game leave me still little bit cold or not very much feelings after finishing but still very enjoyable ride so I give 7/10 and recommended especially if you like folk tale etc. stuff but because i got this goodly discounted, in full price it feels maybe little bit too much to pay for this experience in my opinion, maybe 10-15 is more suitable price.

I have tried getting into this game on two separate occasions, but something just doesn't click. The pacing feels rushed, the setup contrived; it's like the game starts in the middle.

Suddenly, there's all sorts of crazy ♥♥♥♥ a stone's throw away from protag's house, and she doesn't utter a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ remark about anything. You know, "Whoa, what's this, why is this here, was this here yesterday, should I call the police, should I call freaking Area 51??? Should I AT LEAST grab one of the numerous implements around that could serve as a weapon in a pinch?". She looks almost bored.

I always give up at the exact same sequence around 30 minutes into the game, right as protag goes through the ruins of some ancient village and starts descending into a natural staircase in a cave. It's a mix of inauthentic and boring that is just lethal.

[b] Through the Woods [/b] - получилась очень средней, подстать бюджету игры, но тем не менее, для любителей хоррора и скандинавской мифологии зайдет.

Сюжет повествует о матери, которая живет с сыном в хижине, на берегу озера в лесах западной Норвегии. В один день мать замечает исчезновение сына, который пошёл гулять на озеро один. Выбежав на поиски, она замечает как один незнакомец уплывает вместе с ее сыном на лодке вглубь острова. Она решается пойти по следу чтобы спасти своего сына, и попадает в зловещий лес, населённый духами из скандинавской мифологии.

Ощущение хоррора в игре есть, но было не столько страшно, сколько любопытно. Повествование очень линейное, с чтением записок и исследованием локаций.
Графика посредственная, а анимации персонажей очень дубоватые. Артефакты в определенных местах выскакивают на экране, что я не встречал ни в одной игре.
Больше всего понравилось мне мелодичная музыка и северная атмосфера Скандинавии.

Благо игра длится только 3 часа и не успела надоесть за это время.
Но все же надо отдать должное разрабам, поэтому рекомендую как добротный симулятор ходьбы на один вечер.
Моя оценка: 6/10.
