In the first 15 to 20 minutes of my gameplay i got bored.You just wander around a house finding clues,not to mention this boring phone while you are playing.The gameplay mechanics are the same classic boring stuff we see in every horror game like just use your flashlight,check notes and move around,it lacks depth.Definitely i dont recommend to anyone to buy it,its not worth wasting your money on this.

A decent indie horror game which you can play in an evening. Not a particularly unique setup but an interesting enough story which reveals itself overtime by notes. Very similar to the game [i]God's Basement[/i], with both acting as something of a purgatory simulator. Nothing particularly good or bad about it, I didn't experience any crashes. 5/10.
The Survey just barely gets a positive review from me. It is a decently scary game with an unnerving atmosphere and with what is has it does well. It is clearly a very low budget indie game, and the glitches/lack of polish show that. On my first playthrough, I fell through the map and had to ALT+F4. I feel like the premise had a lot of promise and could have been better fleshed out. The Survey's all time low is 99 cents, its probably worth it at that price.

I wouldn't call this a bad game, but I wouldn't say it's great either. To me, it's another one of those walking simulators/generic horror games that has nothing particularly special or ground-breaking about it. Again, it's not bad, I just wouldn't buy it over others of the same genre.
This game is a piece of history. It came out 9 years ago. Think about all the things it predates.
It's much more patient than the average indie horror, even to this day. It's not afraid to let you sit in total silence. It's not afraid to play with lighting in unexpected ways -- even ways that cause you to let your guard down. If anything, the only real flaw of the game is the length.
Buy if a couple bucks is worth having some SERIOUS chills. Clowns expecting $40+ indie horrors from developers with a decade of industry hindsight to work with are the only ones whining about the problems. (Side note: I did see a few people talking about bugs, I've never had that problem -- I guess be aware that bugs are possible.)
If it's on sale, buy with confidence.

This is another horror game with a few cheap jump scares. You walk around a dark environment, slowly revealing the backstory piece by piece through listening to audio and reading notes you find. In this one, the environment is your house. You are Marcus, and you grew up here with your parents and your older sister.
You start out by waking up in the master bedroom, and the first thing you need to do is go downstairs to the living room. There you will find a smart phone, and a note telling you how to find the code to unlock the phone. Once the phone is unlocked, you can do multiple things with it.
There is a section on the phone which gives you one clue at a time. After you read a clue, it will be replaced by a timer counting down how many seconds you have to wait until you get your next clue. Another section lets you change some game settings. There are a few pics on the phone, but they seem to have no relevance to the story.
Over time, texts will pop up that you can read, and a survey will pop up that you can take. Although the title of the game is '[b]The Survey[/b]', the survey also seems to have no relevance to the story. It seems to just be something to waste a little time. No matter what your answers are, the survey will glitch out before the end ([i]but don't worry, that one is on purpose, not a bug[/i]).
So the game is simply running around the house, up and down the stairs, figuring out the story. You'll solve a couple of puzzles, get a few codes, listen to audio clues through the radios and the TV's, read notes and journal entries, play with the phone, and find ways to open locked doors. Occasionally, you will see an undead female. Of course, if she sees you, she will come after you.
I'd say the graphics are a little below average. Many things look "[i]blocky[/i]", and not very detailed. The sound is a little off, too. Sometimes the creepy noises ([i]footsteps, moaning, knocking, etc[/i]) don't seem to be coming from where they should. Also, some of the game text had typos. Sometimes it seems like effort was put into making the game, and sometimes it just seems like an asset flip.
The story is only mildly interesting as it unfolds, and isn't very deep. It could have been presented much better. There were not any shocking twists to it. It didn't take me long to figure out what some parts of the story were going to turn out to be, even before they were officially revealed. You have no inventory to manage, no weapons, and only one walking speed. There are trading cards, but no achievements, so the game has no replayability.
There are no manual saves. If something happens, you will restart back at the last checkpoint. However, when restarting from a checkpoint, things will not always be as they were BEFORE the first time you passed that checkpoint ([i]unlocked doors will be locked again, keys you took are back on the desk yet now can't be picked up, items are moved, lights are not on/off as they were before, the phone is relocked, etc[/i]).
If you don't encounter any bugs, the game should take you 1.5 to 2.0 hours to finish. However, the game is quite buggy. I am on what I'm sure is the last section of the story, but the game has crashed on me in this section 3 times so far, preventing me from completing it. I don't know what happened the 1st time. The 2nd and 3rd times was a bug related to the phone.
You apparently should NOT open the phone when you are listening to audio, or when you seem trapped in a locked room, as this phone bug could make the game crash. Whatever is going on, just be patient. Wait for the audio to stop playing, and/or wait until the game unlocks the door and lets you leave the room.
I got this game on sale for $1, so I guess for 2 hours of play I got my money's worth. You should definitely not pay full price for this one though. Between the shallow story, the bugginess, and the overall plain vanilla of the game, I'm going to give it a thumbs down.

剧情及格偏上，画面不错地图太小，鬼不怎么可怕多半是心理暗示较多，手机这个设定给这个游戏升华了一部分，比如走到走廊处会突然给你发条未知邮件让你别回头，但一回头啥也没有，音乐很喜欢挺好听的，音效有点一惊一乍的，说实话这种慢节奏游戏不适合这种，游戏内节奏的不错，有一种循序渐进的惊悚感，但如果玩恐怖游戏多了就会感觉略显墨迹甚至无聊，如果看不懂英语玩这个游戏说实话也就三颗星，游戏内仅有两次跳杀，在小型独立恐怖游戏里质量算上乘的了（买了不敢玩，看实况的）

Although it may not be the most original game, it offers a fresh and intriguing horror experience with a great atmosphere, compelling narrative, decent graphics, and excellent sound design. Considering that it's a short and compact game, I think it's worth trying.
An abysmal psych-horror "adventure game" that consists mainly of you walking around a dark house, back and forth, from room to room and back again, waiting for something to happen or for some note to appear for you to read to advance the story. I'm so tired of these games where all you do is read notes. Who are these people, making these games?! Can't they write a book instead? This "Game" is only 1 hour long, but it felt much, much longer.
I think the jumpscares are out of place here, otherwise is an actually pretty scary games filled to the brim with creepy moments. It is pretty simple mechanics-wise and it fumbles the ending with something that I don't know if to call it a bug or not. But a good game overall.

I'm not really sure if The Survey is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself.
This is your basic Unity haunted house jumpscare game... it looks a lot like a generic house asset has been rearranged slightly and dropped onto the basic Unity first person adventure game template, with a couple of interactive things to click on and a jumpscare NPC following you around. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, many of them from Russian asset flippers (although I don't believe that's the case with this one... like I said, however, if it's hard to tell the difference, that's enough of a problem).
As a game, while this "works" and can be "played" (not that there is much reason to want to given how little it offers compared to free games or professionally developed games), it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include working audio controls, so you can't turn off the annoying background sounds, you'll need to alt+tab out and stop the audio using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to test this basic feature. If they had done basic testing they might have been able to work out that their volume slider doesn't work.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
The Survey has the laughable price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

Unfortunately, the devs have let a number of bugs persist that make this an utter waste of time if you want to take it seriously.
I'm quite annoyed because, up until I started encountering the bugs, I was REALLY enjoying the experience. Creepy af. Like, I think I've completed it, but only after opening a document to read, which I thought 'paused the game', went off to make a drink, came back and I'm greeted to a screen that just said 'the survey'. Not the main menu screen, just that. So, like, did I complete the game? Is it another bug? Who the ♥♥♥♥ knows.
This comes after frequent crashes (and not the 'Imscared' kind of crashes that are part of the game), a severe lack of checkpoints (had to redo the same bit 10 times, no joke), opening the phone seems to crash the game too, things don't work when you 'interact' with them, randomly can't walk over clear unobstructed ground....its just stupid how many problems have been left unfixed.
Just watch a lets play instead. If/when these issues get resolved, I'll be happy to flip my review to positive.
Also, the title of the game is odd. The whole survey thing was great, but it only lasts for the first half the game, if that. Kinda comes across like an afterthought once you play through the game, yet its the game's namesake. Needs more survey stuff to justify the game's name.

This game is unbearably slow and boring, designers showed complete lack of understanding of proper pacing, opening the game with horribly cryptic riddle that bores rather than intrigue...
This horror game only takes about an hour or two to complete and has a decent storyline that unfolds nicely. That said, I have mixed feelings about it. One mechanic I wasn’t a fan of was being forced to stand and listen to lengthy TV news reports or radio songs that often go on for several minutes. Sometimes you’re even trapped in a room with no other interactable items, which made me click around in frustration before giving up and playing on my phone while the repetitive, meandering dialogue droned on.
Other than that, the game was pretty good. I also appreciated the hint system, which saved me from aimlessly wandering the entire house trying to find that one hidden item needed to progress the plot.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I would say if someone looking for a horror game to try for the first time I would say this this game is really amazing and it wasn’t to hard but the puzzle little easy 10/10

Alchile no lo jueguen banda, es TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN lento y no hay nada de peligro, las TRES veces que te tiene que atrapar la ruca con escoleosis es porque te iba a atrapar, no habia de otra, no sirve de nada esconderse, todo son un uyuyuy y ya, solo te tienen caminando LEEEEEEEEEEENTO por toda la casa recogiendo notitas, la historia no es interesante y es altamente predecible, la historia la deduces con los primeros 80 segundos de juego con lo que te preguntan en el celular, genuinamente no lo jueguen, me lo pasé en 1 hora 10, me lo habria pasado en menos de 30 minutos, si el movimiento no fuera estupidamente lento, y las cosas que tienes que hacer no son para nada claras

I've got mixed feelings about this game. I like the atmosphere and story but damn does it overstay it's welcome. Some of the final puzzles require so much backtracking and simply walking around multiple times waiting for something to happen that any tension the sound and visuals give eventually fades before getting any pay off. It didn't help that the end of the game forces you to stare at a silly jump scare while the title screen slowly fades in for a good minute which made me laugh leaving the game ending just simply feeling cheesy. If this was a free game I'd probably give it a pass but I paid six bucks for this so I'm gonna give it a pass. It's not common you find a short game that feels like it should've been even shorter but this game managed it. Also the survey literally only matters for about ten minutes then is dropped and the phone is next to useless for the majority of the game (except for hints when you've been wandering around for about three minutes without progressing)
Loved the story and the whole atmosphere was great. Some great jumpscares. For 3 euros it's definetly amazing.
Saw that other reviewers said that the game crashes, but for me it never crashed.

Well-thought ideas, but please fix the crash which hits when you pull out your phone. Or at least give the users an option to save the game. Otherwise a very good game, loved the phone & survey mechanic.

Não é um jogo com tanta qualidade, é bem linear e tem textos MUITO longos. Caso você tenha paciência, boa sorte lendo a triste história dessa família. Pelo preço acho que tá valendo sim.

Short good horror game got this for under 1€ euro very tidious had to restart and got sent back on my progress about 10min so really annoying to restart also the roman numeral puzzle tedious had to do it 3 times with all the restarts but overall solid horror game for 1€

一个难得地做出了手脚并且优化不错的unity步行模拟器，用昏暗和死寂来渲染出不错的恐怖气氛。16年的游戏放到今天画面确实有些看不下去了，也没有利用太多素材库里的精致模型。大部分物品都无法互动，甚至也无法跑步，没有可操作空间就使得恐怖的上限不会太高。但这是我第一次在17年玩的，我的整个游戏生涯相当早期接触的恐怖游戏，玩的时候始终抱着童年阴影，无法客观解构。他就是我的逃生。
房屋构造挺合理的，拥挤的2楼一看就是标准廉价town house的设计，比gone home那种浮夸别墅强多了。
捡note碎片化叙事的实现挺不错的，但这种手法跟游戏氛围不搭。一方面是风声鹤唳不知何时jump scare，另一边你又想一字一句了解背景故事。读note实质上会让游戏暂停，鬼木头人+提示读秒停止，但其他诸如radio和鬼敲门机制又不会停止，所以你其实无法直观得知游戏是不是暂停。保存点相当于没有，第一次玩是真不敢拿头去尝试。只有到了后面你一见到鬼就像回家了一样，放心大胆地在她脸上看note，才知道原来确实是暂停的。
经典找数字排序…只能说基操，客观评价是千篇一律的平庸，但是步行模拟器不想玩操作不想玩解谜也没什么花活了。
总的来说和上帝地下室特别像，除了没有牛马解谜，但是叙事功力跟人家差远了。[spoiler] 爹酗酒妈不作为压榨女儿劳工揍儿子逗乐，女儿患病瘫痪，儿子计杀老豆放火女儿，妈妈自杀，儿子昏迷进入边狱永远循环折磨。你无法体会人怎么坏成这样的，也不能理解儿子从小到大的嫉恨。everyone got what they deserve, what about Lilith like she said? why is she sick? 还有reporter名字是老豆真是莫名其妙。相比之下上帝地下室讲的起因经过高潮都高多了。 [/spoiler]
游戏体验尚可，剧情尚可，恐怖氛围尚可。两年前的话我高低给个好评，现在我的眼光高了。

This game was a really cool experience. It kept me on my toes most of the way through and genuinely made me jump at times. The story line is also really interesting and I'm pretty sure there are multiple ending so I will definitely be playing through it again. I highly recommend this game!

It was pretty fun but at some point the game kicked me out and I was convinced my save file got deleted (so I started a new save) And then realized I didn't after wiping out my old save :'3 Really got frustrated, but the game itself is fun.

Very nice for a cheap game. allthough reading all the notes was a it tiring for me
Such an underrated horror game. It is just getting-under-your-skin creepy. However, one problem I did experience was it sometimes would crash, though it is usually less likely when I was not playing it on full screen.
