Un juego de plataformas con historia bonita, pero con un plataformeo absurdamente difícil, lo peor? Es que esto es personal, sigo sin pasar del segundo mundo. Es un juego que esta testeando mi paciencia, en el final de segundo mundo, pájaros consecutivos absurdamente difíciles de conseguirlo sin punto de control. Aun asi si eres amante de las plataformas y quieres un buen reto. Prueba este juego. También pone a prueba tu paciencia.
So I got to the Fallen Kingdom section (having beaten one of apparently 3 other kingdoms?) and after quitting the game and reloading I'd found that my save was seemingly wiped? I guess that's a sign as good as any that it's time to call it there.
The score is excellent with the dynamic vocals timed to your flight and the artstyle is generally quite appealing to look at however the movement system, while possessing a high skill ceiling, does not often feel satisfying or responsive enough at the level that I was playing at. I'll admit that this might just be a skill issue on my end but while there is some catharsis in finally getting past a particular stage or obstacle, the fact that the reward is just more levels to bang your head against made the experience start to wear on me.

Visualmente es hermoso y la historia parece interesante (aunque no jugué tanto), pero no pienso jugarlo más porque los controles son muy toscos. Aunque en los videos parece que te mueves fluido, al jugarlo la sensación es de que vas con delay.
The King's Bird is a top tier momentum focused platformer. It's astounding this game is not more well known. It's truly a beautiful game with brilliant and creative platforming. The core mechanic is your ability to soar for a limited amount of time dependent on velocity. There's also a dash ability that is used for wall run maneuvers. The third movement option is a standard jump.
So how does the movement feel? Simply put, it's some of the juiciest video game movement I've experienced. Masterclass. I had an absolute blast flying through these levels. There's a big focus on speed in The King's Bird and it's not long into the game that you're asked to do some wicked nasty parkour tricks like ceiling runs, aerial loop-de-loops, or flinging yourself out of a half pipe pure blue hedgehog style.
As a lifelong platformer fan, I found the difficulty to be just perfect. Checkpoints are mercifully frequent, because if you're at all like me, you'll die a lot. I impaled my bird person on spikes hundreds of times and had a great time doing it. There are accessibility options if things get too brutal.
I appreciate how the game encourages experimentation. There are basically no explicit tutorials. You are shown only the very basics and then it's up to the player to figure out how to use their movement to progress. Teaching through example is my preference in any genre and The King's Bird nails it. The levels are the tutorial. There are some challenges, especially near the end of the game, that require creative thinking and the developer has faith in you to just figure it out. I have faith in you too.
I have just two criticisms. 1. The collectables are sometimes the same color as the background and therefore can be difficult to see. 2. The final boss is just bad and feels shoehorned in. There is thankfully only this one boss in the whole game; the rest is all platforming. I recommend turning on invincibility (I won't report you) because the boss is so spammy and serves no purpose except I guess to gatekeep the credits.
The art and music are lovely. There's a story here too but I didn't really pay attention. As usual with platformers, the story is mostly a framework to showcase gameplay. You're a bird person in ancient Greece or something. Bird fly. Flight feel good. Do parkour stuff.
Don't hesitate on The King's Bird if you appreciate creative platformers. It's one of the best I've played.

Had 2 breaking bugs that made me refund the game, one is the controller stopped working and the other is that the it doesn't have cloud saves
Has great music and visuals, and I would say the platforming is not bad unlike what reviews say, I think this game has a different issue
It doesn't introduce mechanics properly, it gives you the buttons to press but the starting area wasn't linear, which it would be better to help me understand the slides
And then the floating parts where I had to control how I fly mid air, that part wasn't explained well at all, I still don't understand how it works
Make platforming a bit different and make it all about it, I think that's good, and this game did it well
But controlling the character, perhaps with better introduction to each mechanic, and making these parts more linear, that's what the game was missing
Regardless I'm not recommending it for my first 2 points but the rest are just things I picked up in my 10 minutes of playing that the game could do better

The King’s Bird is one of those games that looks peaceful and elegant on the surface… until you actually start playing it. What begins as a smooth, beautiful platformer quickly becomes a test of patience, precision, and pure stubbornness.. and I mean that in the best possible way.
The movement feels amazing when you get it right. Gliding through the air, chaining jumps, and flowing across the levels is incredibly satisfying. The visuals are stunning too: minimalist, colorful, and full of atmosphere, making every area feel unique and alive.
But let me be honest, this game will frustrate you. There were moments where I literally yelled at my screen. Some sections are so precise that even a tiny mistake sends you crashing back to the start. More than once, I felt like throwing my controller across the room. It’s the kind of challenge that hits you hard, but keeps you coming back because you know.. you know.. you can do it if you just nail the timing.
And when you finally clear those brutal parts? Pure satisfaction. Finishing the game 100% felt like an achievement I actually earned. That final sense of accomplishment makes every stressful moment worth it.
If you enjoy fast, stylish platformers that reward practice and punish hesitation, The King’s Bird is absolutely worth your time. Just be prepared to yell a little. (Or a lot.)
Fun game. However be prepared for a fairly steep learning curve and a few very hard sections in a couple of levels.
带加速度的精确平台跑酷游戏，看起来容错率很小实际上是非常小，关卡上有引导甚至有根据某种地形配置特化的关卡，然而难度在逐渐加速的失控中也变得越来越扭曲。关卡内的难度曲线安排也算不上合理，经常一段一堆存档点然后留出一大段毫无存档点需要一命过然后为了100%还得一命收集导致强制走位背板的情况，而你的小关100%还有可能被惯性到达终点而毁掉重开。
优点的话是音乐和美术都给人初见类似gris的风格，比较唯美，然而在不断的试错下最后并没有人还有心情停下来观赏风景。
目前所有成就的达成率都小于10%，如果不是真的爱挑战极限的话建议打折入库试试，不行再退款。实际上只能给中评，但是游戏没差到有硬性bug喂屎的情况所以还是推荐。假如哪天真的被毁档了回来改不推荐

Absolutely not. I would love to love this game with the nice minimalist aesthetic. However I cannot recommend due to the movement being janked af. The learning curve is so thrash that I didn't even finish the first level. Repeating the same jump/fly several times made the game far too tedious for me to bother. It's most likely a skill issue and maybe if I put more time into it and getting a better grasp at the controls I would appreciate it more.

Ce serait le meilleur jeu si les savent marchait (ma théorie serait de désactiver les clouds saves). Hormis ça foncez dessus sans crainte. C'est un jeu magnifiques, avec une super DA et une complétion à challenge même si le jeu de base lui est pas super compliqué donc, oui, un jeu adapté à tous, pour tout niveau et tout gameplay. D'ailleurs le gameplay parlons-en un peu... hé bien il est formidable, sûrement un des jeux les plus agréables et jouissif et de très loin, vraiment un bonheur !

然而其他方面的设计非常差。
首先是镜头问题，镜头过于狭隘，严重不适合游戏。既然以滑翔作为核心机制，那爽点其实非常明显——我飞的越快、越久、飞过越多障碍，我就越爽，然而狭隘的视角限制了玩家对于版面的观察，也就大大限制了玩家的游玩体验：玩家没办法提前看到一些版面上的地形、障碍，在一些极端的情况下甚至完全看不到接下来的障碍，也就无从提前思考路线，超高的飞行速度也使得玩家没办法反应突然出现的障碍，这使得玩家很多情况下需要先死一次甚至好几次进行背板，对玩家来说这几次死亡不完全是甚至完全不是操作的问题，而是必要之死，这非常折磨人。试想一下，如果玩家可以提前观察路线、提前反应障碍，那么很多版面就可以一次性通过，游玩的过程会更加流畅、舒适，玩家的体验必然大大提升。
其次是地图设计问题，割裂感和单调感太严重了。上面提到，具有此种机制设计的游戏想要好玩很重要的因素是”流畅“，然而游戏的地图设计是无数张小地图，相互之间毫无关联，几分钟飞完这一张小地图后通过传送回到地图选择点再通过传送进入下一张地图，不但不”流畅“而且带给玩家极强的割裂感。此外，地图的设计非常单调乏味，几乎毫无逻辑可言，数十张地图之间几乎不存在太大的差异，各个章节的地图也没有什么特点化的设计，也根本不存在任何令人感到惊艳的地方。
收集品放置的逻辑实在是愚蠢。起码二分之一的收集品是往地图里的角落而不是通关路线上放置，使得“流畅地通关”与“收集大部分收集品”成了两件背反的事情，注意是“大部分”，对，很多收集品都不在通关路线上。
到处是存档点，看似降低了难度，实则还是影响了“流畅”两个字。
操作逻辑非常诡异，操作手感很古怪，主角的性能很一般。如果不使用滑翔，主角在空中几乎无法移动，这样的设计在平台跳跃游戏里实在是少见，这意味着在空中你不能持续地调整，然而平台跳跃游戏的核心就是与平台的交互、玩家位置的移动与调整。换句话说，射击游戏的主角不能持枪，动作游戏的主角800米要跑5分钟。
画面远不算优秀，只能说中规中矩，同时存在一个重要问题：背景和平台的对比度太低，玩家容易看不见平台。平台跳跃游戏的交互很大一部分是玩家与平台的交互，那么平台就极其重要，然而这样的画面设计玩家甚至看不清平台。
音乐不错，我很喜欢下雨的背景音。
总体来说是糟糕的游戏，在核心机制方面有好的想法，但其他方面的设计实在太失败。

这游戏本来可以是一个非常不错的小游戏，有讨喜的画风和好听音乐，平台跳跃的玩法也是经久不衰，但是那诡异的按键操作逻辑又着实让人无语，让游戏的难度直接攀升到劝退玩家的地步。
如果不是这反人类的操作逻辑，这游戏肯定能是一个小爆款，我只想说可惜了那么好的画风和音乐。
This game offered so much and for 75% of the game was OK until it randomly removed my progress and made me play through each intro every time I loaded. Total garbage. With this game having no dialogue it made it even more confusing when this happened. Also the final fight made no sense to player progression. Developing a game needs to take a player on a journey not introduce a random event at the end just because you couldn't figure out how to end it properly. For this reason it gets a thumbs down and buyer beware. I have played 1,000s of games and can honestly say this is in the bottom 20 easy.

有极高上手难度和操作上限的一款横板2d平台跳跃游戏。全收集难度有点高，还很磨练心性。因为很多鸟精都是藏在过关路的角落里，除了那些容易看到的，有不少都是你不多次试错都不知道少的藏品在哪的设计。此外存档点是纯自动的，有时候你看见鸟精了但是没摸到却摸到存档点了，回头发现怎样都拿不到，这种情况也很多。而这才是第一大关。
美术和音乐真的很不错，操作手感也很好，难度确实高，不追求全收集的话其实也不折磨啦。
The King’s Bird é um jogo de plataforma indie com um estilo minimalista e uma movimentação fluida, transmitindo uma grande sensação de velocidade. A trilha sonora, apesar de boa, é repetitiva, e os controles nem sempre respondem bem.
A história é simples, funcionando apenas como pano de fundo para a jogabilidade. Um destaque é o modo assistência, lembrando o de Celeste, que permite ajustes como voo infinito e imunidade a espinhos — ótimo para acessibilidade ou conquistas rápidas.
No geral, é um jogo divertido e visualmente bonito, que cumpre o que propõe. Vale a pena conferir se você gosta de jogos de plataformas.
Very fun and cozy little game. The controls fell SO good. Don't listen anyone calling it junky, you just have to get used to them and the game is teaching you to handle them better, from level to level. It just feels grand soring through its graphics. I recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge and is into 2d platform. I don't like a lot of games of this genre (I mean the high momentum 2d platforming), but this I loved.
The game is *fine* but it never felt that amazing to me compared to other well known platformers. The collectibles did not seem worth going for for me, and they were small enough to not even notice at times. I was on the fence for reviewing this or not, but the clincher for me: I had to quit at one point in the middle of a later segment and... it lost my save.
If you already have this game, it could be worth a shot for you, but for me, I would not recommend going out of your way to buy this game.

ダッシュと滑空を駆使してゴールまで向かうプラットフォーマーゲーム。壁や天井でもダッシュできるので、少しDustforceに近い感覚があります。
勢いの付け方や滑空の挙動に若干慣れが必要な部分がありますが、慣れてくるとかなり楽しいです。
あとゲームの雰囲気がかなり良いです。

ゲーム起動時にチュートリアルから始まるバグ？がありました(一瞬セーブデータが消えたかと思って焦りましたが、チュートリアルを終わらせたらちゃんと進捗は残っていました)。
特に再現性があるわけでもないのでよくわからないですが念のため書いておきます。
ボリュームを考えると定価だと若干高い気がしますが、セールなら間違いなくオススメです。
They keep putting collectibles right before the exit, but they also put a checkpoint [i]in[/i] the exit. If you miss the collectible but hit the exit you can't go back one checkpoint to try again, you can only restart the level.
Very artsy games, and it conveyed the feel it was going for. Would have played more but the controls did not feel intuitive and was frustrating, simple things like jumping from wall to wall to move upwards felt clunky, I saw some tutorials, but if players need the tutorial to get the core movement system, then you have missed the mark.
Really cool art though.

你如果要去关注收集品，很多情况下会打断地图流畅的动线，然后开始受苦。我在放弃收集要素之后才开始逐渐get到一些这个游戏的乐趣。
而与此同时，剧情也好，操作的教学也好，都非常的抽象。剧情不用说了，没字，图也看不懂，鸟人在干嘛更看不懂，差点没找到从序章到第一关的路。
操作我打完一个大关了还处在一个并不了解我某些时刻的某种操作是怎么按出来的情况。
综上所述，过大于功了，所以不推荐。
Gorgeous and beautifully made. But the mechanics were frustrating and I never felt like I understood them fully. Had to quit a bit after the tutorial. I really wanted to like this, but it's just not for me.

It's a momentum based platformer, feels really really good when you're flying through the levels. The level design is also quite creative and demanding in many places - I really enjoyed figuring them out. The art and music are great in my eyes, although they may be repetitive to some. The story is something I didn't pay much attention to, and it isn't intrusive at all. So... this game is kinda great, except... there's a LOT of caveats:

[*]First and foremost, it does not convey its controls and movement mechanics well. Thankfully there are a couple movement tutorials in the Steam guides section by SparQy (thank you!). If you don't mind this, please do yourself a favor and go through those tutorials before getting into the game. You might have to re-watch them to fully learn everything. I'd have been lost without them.
[*]The movement never stops feeling a little janky. It might simply be because there are so many mechanics at work at any given time.
[*]The game can stutter a little bit, even though it doesn't look like that kinda game. Consider tweaking the graphics settings.
[*]The final boss straight up does not belong in the game. It's just a bunch of trial and error that slogs on for too long.
[*]There are bugs. Major bugs. In my own playthrough, after playing for some time, I would always be stuck gliding. This is usually not a problem, but can be incredibly annoying when you need to not glide. Plugging the controller back in fixed that for me. But it reoccurs after some time. A worse bug was my game softlocking at final boss, right before the ending. I had to suffer through that fight again. To top it all off, it reset my save after the ending! I was missing a couple achievements and now I'll have to playthrough the whole game again to have a shot at them :(

If you can overlook all the above, there's some great fun to be had here. Do keep in mind that this is a difficult precision platformer, so set expectations accordingly. If the game had reset my save before I got to the end, this would be a negative review. But I guess I got lucky.
While the design of this game has potential there are some glaring issues. Im gonna make it short.
The movement is all over the place. Most of the times it doesnt feel satisfying and feels janky. It has those moments where it shines but those are rare. There are a lot of mechanics which are not indicated to the player in any sort of way which in term makes the player run in circles. I found it very frustrating and I feel like the developers instead of taking the aspects that work, they force things that dont work to try and put as much mechanics as they possibly can.
All in all I definitely dont recommend Kings Bird.

this is a fantastic movement-based 2D platformer. the game is beautiful with its simple artstyle, has tight controls, and tells a fantastic story without speech. getting 100% is a bit tedious, but still a ton of fun. defnitely check this title out!

The game was a lot of fun. It makes great use of physics mechanics, surface refresh for the in game flight ability and the collectibles as a general pathway for pathing. The game itself is a fairly challenging game to get used to but it is very rewarding when you have some experience. You might still find yourself playing the same section of a level for quite a long time but there are checkpoints within the level to aid you with progression. You must collect all birds during one run of the level otherwise your progress resets to 0/x for that level. There is an assist mode within the game that you can and should enable if you find yourself repeatedly failing a particular section or just generally frustrated with the game (I didnt use it until close to the end of the game but it made the rest of it a breeze). Overall the game was stunning and the mechanics worked the way the developers intended (I assume). The only downside I had to the game was that the color scheme was sometimes too much. The vibrant colors of the game are sometimes too bright and the collectibles can blend in with the background. All in all a great game if you are a fan of platformers.

先说结论：如果是被画风吸引过来但毫无跑酷基础的话，快跑.jpg。如果有跑酷基础，对游戏机制感兴趣，或者喜欢画风的话可以尝试一下。
一个很强调惯性的跑酷游戏，甚至可以说就是以惯性作为核心的系统，比如很多图都需要在下滑过程中积累动能，来转化为之后的飞行高度和距离。也有需要在飞行过程中触碰墙壁借力的机制等等，我通关了还没搞明白xd。能飞起来的时候会很爽，相对地，至少一半时间都在受苦。游戏人物经常不那么“听话”，可能是因为惯性的物理系统之类的，操作常有延迟感……设置里有帮助模式，我是开了“去除空气阻力”的选项后，体验上升了一倍，不想受苦的可以直接开（）我对跑酷游戏的阅历很少，以上仅供参考吧。
画面和音乐都是顶级，我很喜欢这个美术风格，美得无话可说，高饱和的颜色看着也不费眼。在滑翔的时候bgm会实时插入女声吟唱，也算是用心了吧hh，音乐有点偏向凯尔特风？
对于成就党来说，这个主要的难点是全收集路上的小鸟，然后就是那个十分钟速通。速通我打了三遍，第三遍以9分57的成绩达成了……全收集就，每个图舔完就行，纯粹的坐牢纯粹的享受。整体对成就党来说还算友好，毕竟帮助模式不锁成就。
顺便这游戏新手引导是真的弱，很多机制和操作都要靠自己摸索。pc适配也没做完？键位倒是可以正常改，但游戏的教程显示的永远是X，Y，Lt，Rt这些手柄的键，虽然无伤大雅，但前期还在摸索的时候挺影响游戏体验的。

King's Bird est un platformer de vitesse, sa DA avec ses palettes de couleurs bien choisie et attrayante, le personnage et les plateformes seront des silhouettes sombres sur fond coloré. Un jeu indé publié par Graffiti Games qui ont l'air d'apprécier quand on peut faire du speedrun dans des niveaux d'un jeu (Blue Fire et Cyber Hook sont de ce style là).
Le jeu est attirant, le personnage paraît lourd et lent au début à tel point que je me suis dit que ça allait être impossible de jouer tellement la moindre collision le freine, mais ce n'est qu'une première impression, très vite les premiers niveaux montreront comment gérer et garder son accélération pour devenir des mouvements avec une dynamique très agréable.
La musique sympathique aux premiers abords paraîtra vite envahissante, trop forte selon les paramètres par défaut, il y en aura trois qui seront entêtantes, une pour chacun des mondes.
C'est un jeu avec pleins de niveaux différents divisés en 3 mondes, on rejoint les niveaux par des hubs. Dans les premiers monde, le temps de s'habituer aux contrôles (3 boutons différents et un joysticks suffisent : le saut, le dash, le vol) les niveaux seront faciles mais très vite les difficultés approchent et ça devient un jeu try hard assez gratifiant.
Des gros défauts tout de même :
Il n'y a pas de gestion de la caméra possible, elle est automatique, difficile alors d'observer son environnement pour voir les plateformes alentours et prévoir ses futurs mouvement.
Les nombreux checkpoints présents permettent d'avancer efficacement, mais lorsqu'on veut collecter les oiseaux dorés dispersés dans le niveau, on peut se retrouver coincé après avoir débloquer automatiquement le checkpoint suivant sans pouvoir faire marche arrière pour récupérer un oiseau qu'on a vu passer. Un oiseau sera même particulièrement vicieux, posé juste après la fin de niveau (qui lorsque qu'on la traverse s'active automatiquement et il sera alors impossible de faire marche arrière, même avec le menu pause), on ne peut le récupérer qu'en ayant des bons réflexes la première fois, ou alors en refaisant tout le niveau et récupérant de nouveau les oiseaux. Sur ce coup là j'ai eu des bons réflexes, mais à cause des différents checkpoint, j'ai dû refaire un niveau 5-6 fois (sur 60 niveaux).
Le jeu lag trop souvent dans certains niveaux alors qu'il ne semble pas demander beaucoup de ressources, ce n'est le cas que de quelques niveaux, rendant les contrôles difficiles à gérer et donc des niveaux assez chiants, pareil 4-5 niveaux sont comme ça.
Enfin, quelques fois le personnage avance tout seul et du coup se suicide, problème mineur étant donné le nombre de checkpoint, mais assez relou lorsque ça arrive.
J'insiste sur les bons côtés : les contrôles du personnage sont très agréables à maîtriser, et le fait de trouver la solution pour traverser un passage est très gratifiant.
Pour les tryharder qui aiment les plateformer et collectionner des trucs, ça sera un bon jeu que je recommande, il a un côté qui pousse au speedrun. Si on s'intéresse à l'histoire elle est peu présente et invisible si on ne fait pas attention (un peu à la Abzû, les histoires sont dans le décor sur des tableaux dans les hubs). Lorsque les défauts ne se manifestent pas, le jeu est très agréable à jouer.

I discovered this in my library one day and to my surprise it was quite enjoyable. Not sure how and when I got it, maybe I lIked the art style, which is one of this game's biggest strengths. The controls are alright, as some other reviews mentioned, they could use some polishing but I think all levels were doable, yet never felt too easy. The soundtrack isn't bad, but it's kind of repetitive, which reminded me of the old super mario bros games. The gameplay at times felt more like a super meat boy - near the end there were part's where I had to retry many times (and would've appreciated a playback of my failures, like in super meat boy).
Either way, it's a pretty good game. Unfortunately I did not get to finish it, as it randomly reset my progress as (or maybe because) I was doing the last level. This is a shame because I never completed it as a result, and feels like something that QA should've caught.
Overall I give it a 7/10
Note: Actual playtime ~13 hours.

A King's Bird own introduction to the player serves as an apt description of overall experience - granting the flow of gliding and freedom of fluid movement, only to restrain it behind narrow corridors and precision platforming.
It's not that A King's Bird is too difficult to complete or to enjoy, it would be better said that it is too difficult for its own good. It achieves its goal of being a slightly tricky precision platformer, reasonably and appropriately increasing the difficulty over time in order to continue to challenge the player. But this is not where A King's Bird is at its finest. Instead, the greatest enjoyment is to be found when taking advantage of the sweeping movement - when the difficulty level is a little less than the skill of the player, not greater. Having beaten the game and armed with sufficient experience, a second play-through is therefore required to get the best out of title. But to lock a beauty which can only be found behind a time and skill gated barrier is misplaced in this circumstance. A demonstration of skill is itself rewarding, but like a viewing a film players deserve to see it, rather than being solely for the esoteric and skilled few.
This seems to be have been noticed by the developers as a plethora of options are available to reduce the difficulty; also checkpoints are plentiful, and not all levels need to be beaten to proceed. These measures have been instilled instead of further positive measures that would alter the dynamic of of the level design, choosing to fulfil the criteria of being a precision-platformer instead.
Such harsh rebuke can only be warranted when there is equal praise to be given, miniature cracks have increased severity in something otherwise impeccable and wonderful, like a flower showing its first signs of wilting. For the size of the development team an achievable design has been adopted, utilising simple techniques for the audio and visuals to great effect, resulting in a clean, cohesive and aesthetically pleasing product. The vivid colours and stencilled silhouettes incorporated into parallax layers pair accompanied by equally bright and spirited music that embodies youthful exploration match wonderfully with the graceful gliding the player does throughout. For the music, two tracks are persistent to embolden the action and increase the cathartic sensation of flight, separated by instruments and vocals - the vocals fading in and out in accord to the player's sailing.
The only blemish in this department is the under-utilisation of The King's Bird story telling devices and the lack of diversity in the soundtrack. A wonderful contrast and liveliness is felt during the introductory portion, perhaps the best executed segment. A stark contrast is defined by presenting a hopeless, restrained, and pitiable plight of the protagonist and her world, only to bloom with vivid colour and a joyful melody as the gift of flight is granted. Yet numerous tracks rely on this same motive too heavily and don't contrast with the changing backdrops sufficiently. Blue could have been sombre and purple bright for instance, but instead a similar melody is heard for every colour. It should be noted that this applies primarily to the main level themes rather than the additional tracks. The visual and audio story telling devices utilise the crafted world well and add to the theme of discovery utilising the interpretation of the player rather than relying on text to directly tell its story. Full of impact and intrigue at the beginning, but as the story ends up being a rather solitary affair that is overtaken by the game-play, it becomes a little neglected and underused.
As a final note, it would appear that The King's Bird is at conflict with itself, and would almost appreciate being divided in two, allowing both halves to bloom with their full potential. The first increasing the presence of the story within the title with open and modestly easy, yet not simple, exploration - perhaps a vast and more open world like Ori and the Will of the Wisps; the second prioritising the fiendishly challenging sectioned levels while still maintaining the stunning visuals.

Overall pretty fun gameplay, reminds me of fancy pants adventures. Ur just jumpin around and collecting things. It's not as hard as people say. I thought it was a good difficulty curve. Some of the later levels can be pretty challenging but nothing too difficult. The only thing that actually got me kind of annoyed was the second-to-last level but after some trial and error i got it done in about an hour. The final boss fight was kinda underwhelming, but everything up until that point was pretty fun so it doesn't really matter to me.

I´m evaluating this game based on only one and a half hours of experience as training. Do not take my word as 100% objectively correct. I myself am a game design student so I have some merit. Take this a more as constructive criticism.

I fount the games default controls for the keyboard to be hard to use. I´m used to using Space for jumping so I constantly confused Z and X. I´d recommend using a controller as it´s much better or using WASD with Sift and Space.
[h3]Aesthetics[/h3]
The game looks absolutely beautiful. I picked the game based on it´s looks and they don´t disappoint. I do wish they were a bit more dynamic. As in vines moving when you glide past them and leaves falling from threes obscuring some terrain occasionally.
The music is good near the start of the game. It does get repetitive towards the one hour mark, and I wish that there was more verity. Perhaps each area could have a specific power instrument overlaying the theme.

The levels are well made. At no point was I truly lost on where to go. The collectible flies also give a good challenge and point the way. I like the speed of the game and how quickly everything gets out of control.
However, I ran into a bug were I would get stuck on level entrances after teleportation. It seems to occur if I use a controller and don´t move imminently after teleportation.

I found the game to be a very fun despite the hard controls. I recommend this to people who are looking for challenges or like difficult platformers. The game does get a nice 7/10
I thought it would be one of those games with smooth and satisfying movement, but I was negatively surprised.
The movement is very limited and clunky, unlike what I thought it would be. it's just not fun for some reason, it always seems like I'm missing something to chain moves together and go fast...
It's the kind of game I would love to love, for the music, for the singing that complements it while you slide through the sky, the simple yet beautiful monochromatic graphics... it really hurts that all of this is ruined by the movement, which could have been incredibly satisfying.
So yes, it's sad, but I didn't really enjoy my experience with this game and I wouldn't recommend you buying it.

A lovely but stale game.
The King's Bird is one of those games that looks really good, but fails to live up to its visuals. The game is a pure platformer with some interesting movement mechanics, but these mechanics have some issues that prevent the game from really having a great feel to them.
The regular run in this game feels slugish, but when you start to chain different moves together the movement quickly becomes too fast to react to. The checkpoint system is lenient, so it's not a huge issue, but it does take away from the games fun factor.
The main hook of this game is the semi-flight capabilities that you gain from near the start of the game. This mechanic allows you to boost on the ground for a short time, which also allows you to leap farther and higher, glide for a short amount of time, and "cling" to ceilings. These mechanics lead to interesting skill based challenges, but none of these challenges are particularly fun. In addition, between the aggressive particle effects and input issues, it can be frustrating to perform moves in the manner the game wants you to. I had a jump that I thought I made several times, only to fall to my death. The reason I thought I had made it is because all I could see was a bright spot on the screen that appeared to be on the ledge, but had actually missed the ledge. On top of that, the way in which you control the character while gliding often leads you to nose diving to your death when you're trying to glide up.
This game just didn't have the hook for me, but it's you're a big fan of unique platformers, and you can stand some jank, this might be the game for you

When the gameplay hits, it really hits, and you really feel free.
Slightly held back by repetitive level visuals (even if they are beautiful) making it harder to feel a sense of progress, but overall good game and well worth it if you like 2d platformers.
Hardcore difficulty clashes with the whimsical vibe. There are assist options bringing it to tempo, but even then the flow is off. No camera controls and awkward running mechanics lead to frequent pitfalls. Visuals are the one thing going for it and even they get a little samey.

At the start of this game you see what this game could have been. For a moment you will think you are experiencing that. Then you quickly realise there are issues with the way things control that prevent it being the fluid gliding platformer you want it to be. No it is not your fault, it is indeed edge cases in the games control code that were not handled properly and parameters that were not quite tuned correctly that destroy what is otherwise a beautiful experience :-(
Excellent game, but not enough to hold my attention.
This game was a lot of fun. I liked the music, the art, and the level design. The levels get pretty hard, but the checkpoint placement is generous while still giving you some nice long segments occasionally. Even though there were sections where I got walled for a while, I always felt like I could experiment with many different minor changes in the way I was platforming. For the most part, the effects of these minor alterations were consistent. The sections where you feel like you know what you are doing are very fun, since you can go extremely fast in this game. I felt like every level explored a different theme, and overall they explored almost everything you can do with these mechanics without making the game drag on.
A few minor quibbles:
- I felt like sometimes my dash-jump didn't work right after spawning from a lantern
- If you touch the level goal you can't leave to get nearby birds.
- Sometimes the ceiling dash went in the opposite direction from what I was intending and I'm not sure why.
- In a few sections (like the V-shaped blocks parts), the intended strategy is very hard to discern.
- [spoiler] I really didn't like the final boss fight, and the key prompts for the last hit are ambiguous and don't really show you what you're supposed to do. [/spoiler]
A few notable good things:
- I especially liked the levels where you have to go left in order to go right, or go down in order to go up.
- I played this game on keyboard, and I was worried it would be hard to control the flight without a controller, but it plays great on keyboard!
- The hitboxes of spikes felt very fair
- The singing harmony that plays when you're flying goes up in pitch when you're going up (or holding up), and down when you're going down or holding down. I only noticed this towards the end, but it really enhances the soundtrack.
- Levels where you can't fly, and more freeform levels both increase the variety of the gameplay.
Si au départ on pouvait s'attendre à un sympathique plate-formeur 2D aux jolis environnement stylisés avec une bande originale envoûtante & reposante, ce sera juste pour cacher ce qu'il est vraiment...
Rageant, frustrant dès le premier niveau du hub suite à un tutoriel mal foutu qui nous apprend très mal les mécaniques indispensable du jeu.
Les contrôles semble être assez simple : sauter, dasher, et planer mais maîtriser son élan efficacement en les utilisant au bon moment sera le plus dur.
Même en activant les aides incluses, il reste très hardcore si on ne les maîtrise pas très rapidement.
(un seul conseil, activé les directement le temps de vous familiariser un minimum avec les contrôles & de bien appréhender les mécaniques comme longer les murs/plafonds, garder son élan...)
Il conviendra aux amateurs de difficulté, sinon passer votre chemin car il n'en deviendra que plus compliqué & rapide par la suite!
Le but n'étant pas de prendre son temps mais de garder sa vitesse & son élan pour passer le plus d'obstacles possibles en planant à moitié!
Heureusement les checkpoints sont assez nombreux & il reste très fluide si on le maîtrise un minimum (malgré qu'il ait tendance régulièrement à dasher vers le bas sans qu'on se sache trop pourquoi...)
De plus, les oiseaux à collecter sur le parcours se fondent très souvent dans le décor & refaire les niveaux entièrement pour les collecter bof bof...
De même, le jeu revient à chaque démarrage par défaut en anglais (même si ce n'est pas très important vu qu'il n'y a pas de dialogues ni textes...)
(corriger dans une récente mise à jour de décembre 2023 mais qui a cassé la compatibilité native avec le Steam Deck, il faudra l'utiliser avec Proton Experimental!)

Have to accept that this is simply too diffucult for me. Still think it's a good game, but the trailers are misleading. Rarely will you fly through the levels easily, it's mostly trial and error from check point to check point.
Lo recomiendo por su estilo visual y su jugabilidad, es hermoso y fresco. Te da una sensación de libertad y la música es un factor muy importante para completar este combo sensorial.
Otro factor importante es el diseño del personaje, es agradable y dinámico. Lo recomiendo si te gusta el sidescroller y el movimiento rápido.

while the gameplay might be a bit frustrating at times, the king's bird is still a phenomenal experience. especially with the amazing soundtrack.
btw, if you jump and dash at the same time you perform a sort of super jump, this is very important since the game is impossible to complete without it.
Extremely difficult and repetitive with a dash of RNG just when you think you got the hang of things. And that is just the forest kingdom.
The skip to next checkpoint doesn't always trigger. Checkpoints seem to be randomly interspersed so that sometimes they are miles apart and sometimes they are all right next to each other.

This game starts off as a fun platformer but the idiotic difficulty curve suck all the fun out of it.
1、比较独特的跑酷体验，有点像会飞的索尼克。后续看情况可能还会继续玩。
2、还是给了好评。满分10分给个5~6分吧。靠着独特的美术氛围和比较优秀的配乐撑起来的，玩法体验上欠打磨，例如关卡内许多节点的设计让人猜不到该用怎样的方式通过，再加上游戏本身操作是偏难的，负反馈就比较大。但是开场自由飞翔的感觉非常惊艳。这个开头估计也是自己没忍下心打差评的原因。
3、想了下，操作难可能没问题，但是这个游戏从商店宣传上，或者是游戏开场都看不出来难。类似风之旅人概念的画风，再结合开头剧情，很难让人觉得这是一款非常难的游戏。所以就有可能让玩家觉得自己“上当了”。有点像我以为是“风之旅人结果是黑暗之魂”的感觉。
ПТИЧКА ТО ЛЕТАТЬ НЕ УМЕЕТ!
Примерно до середины игры это очень расслабляющая и медитативная игра. Нас потихоньку знакомят с механикой передвижения. Задачи усложняются постепенно и гармонично, неспешно обучая игрока.
Где-то с середины игры обучение всем тонкостям перемещения почти заканчивается, и начинается реальный челлендж.
Поначалу опять же, вполне приемлемый, можно проходить уровни со азартом трайхардера, а можно чуть корявенько. Но под конец, а в особенности самые последние уровней 5 заставляют выполнять пируэты на уровне спидраннера, пролетая на полной скорости через игольное ушко НЕСКОЛЬКО РАЗ ПОДРЯД. И это при не самом точном управлении. Играл с геймпада, в 99% случаев на полной скорости направлял персонажа в стену.
Визуал в целом приятный. Но, на финальных уровнях когда камера сильно отдаляется, персонаж становится маленькой темно серой точкой с белым шлейфом и просто сливается с фоном.
Музыка тоже в целом приятная. Но это всего одна композиция на всю игру, хоть она и имеет динамическую привязку к скорости персонажа, всё-таки под конец начинает надоедать.
Ставлю палец вниз только из-за последних уровней. + финал я так и не прошёл. Глянул как там справляются спидраннеры, там даже у них прохождения с осечками, так что куда мне казуалу.
Поэтому если вы не прошли Celeste, Super meat boy, и т.д. на 100%. Можете сюда не лезть. По крайней мере я Селесту прошёл, а эту игру нет. Не знаю о чём думали разрабы, типо: "Только истинный трайхардер имеет право пройти нашу игру, а прочим лохам тут не место". Обидно.
