Amazing how so simplistic you can show something captivating and serious and conceived over 3 decades ago;

A very impressive game with a unique style.

This is a remaster of a game that was made in 1987.
It gives off Prince of Persia vibes. The original one of course.
The art style is it's strongest point.
The controls can be a bit clunky but nothing to stress about.
I recommend this game to people with nostalgia and love for psychedelic art styles.
It's on the shorter side but still a good game.

En un mundo donde el revival nocillero de los ochenta huele a muerto, siempre es agradable encontrarse aquel producto que aduce a dicha década abrazando la realidad, lo que en esencia fue, y no la quimera idealizada por el fan medio de Stranger Things.
The Eternal Castle supura "retrosidad" en un sentido muy necesario. El apartado artístico es una maravilla; diseños, juego de luces y sombras, música y sobre todo animaciones. La jugabilidad es la que procede, ni más ni menos, y a lo largo de su, eso sí, algo escaso número de fases uno de deja de toparse con situaciones que hacen que te lo pases como un perro de bien.

The eternal castle remastered use the Classic CGA style of graphics as is own advantage, creating a world so beautiful and yet so terrifying at the same time, the pixel art and the animation are so fluid and really beautiful creating some gorgeous scenery even with the cga limitation of 3 colour.
The story even tho there is little to no text is pretty clear and some what understandable.
Unfortunately not everything is perfect and there are some things that I didn't like that much: the platforming was fine but the controls seems somewhat 100% there and some jump was not registered, the combat was simple and yet some combat scene was impossible to see my character and or move it out of the way to understand what's going on and last thing the final boss was simple yes but c'mon the wait was too long 👀.
Even tho is has some problems I do enjoy it, so I can recommend it to someone who like cinematic platformer like another world or oddworld.

Its presentation points to an exact moment in ancient computer history -- to the point where the 1987 date of the original game feels a few years too late -- but it is absolutely and totally committed to its visual presentation and fidelity to the hardware limitations of the CGA display. The game develops a kind of linguistic shorthand around its palette the same way directors of expressionist films in the 1920s did with the color filters on black and white film. It's ancient, but that just makes it timeless.

I would love to see more of this. I would love to see an entire film done in the style of this game's cutscenes.

A succinct piece of cinematic art with the pretenses of being a video game that excels within its deliberate use of technical and visual limitations, both the hyper-limited palette and its clunky, obfuscated controls the intention and aesthetic it was designed from the foundations to convey.

It's an experience that demands you be subjected to very-specific tactile sensations in controlling, and barraged under beautiful pixel vistas, in a mode of flagellant and contemplative veneration for what video games used to be.

The result is neo-retroism so authentic to the gameplay and game*feel* you'd expect from software made nearly forty years ago, albeit streamlined into a form romanticized, that it makes you want to believe the myth of The Eternal Castle.

I can't give this game a thumb up, despite the retro feeling and fantastic soundtrack. I loved it till the final battle. And then.. everything changed. When you have few seconds to solve the "puzzle" it's completely random if you pass it or not. The first of three phases is easy to solve, because the line is always straight. The second phase is tricky, but you can still do it. But the last phase is impossible to solve, because of the randomness - the rings are so slow, and the time quickly passes by. I tried like 20 times and when i pass the first and second phase, i was unable to solve the third one. There are 5 rings so when i go trough three of them, there's no time left for last two - every single time. And the low-res graphic with green and yellow rings simply melt together. I was really excited about this game, but it's a thumb down for me, because i can't complete the game.

Edit:
After like 20 tries, I've finally completed the game with so much frustration and bad language. I won't play it again.

Still, I'm something in between thumb up and thumb down.

Not for everyone, but definitely for me, baby. No idea how they made this game look the way it does, but I love it. Visually distinct from any other game I've ever played. Mechanically, it's similar to old cinematic platformers like Prince of Persia, Flashback or, especially, Another World, though it definitely carves out an identity all its own. Like those games though, it depends a bit on trial and error and weighty, slow-to-respond controls, so be prepared for that. But the atmosphere in this game is simply impeccable. It cannot be pecced.

This is a wonderful hidden gem of title, upon first glance the game leads to many confusing questions. The developers are unheard of, the publishers have only published like 8 games ever and the game itself has a confusing title. Despite saying remastered you will find there is no such thing as the original. So what gives? I'm honestly not sure, but the game is so peculiar that it serves as an excellent love letter to the classic motion animated platformers from the past such as prince of persia.

The short experience this game provides to the player will have you feeling nostalgic for a past that never existed and I think if any other large team worked on this game it would have been compromised on so many levels. Yet the small "outsider" indie team that made this beautiful love child, created a concise and elegant experience I think anyone can enjoy.

I see many reviewers saying the controls are clunky but the controls never bothered me personally, if you are worried about it then buy the game, give it a shot, and if its unbearable then refund it. I'm willing to bet you will enjoy yourself and be left wanting a similar experience that no other game can provide.

Legenda oryginału służy przede wszystkim jako ciekawy zabieg marketingowy oraz wyraźny kierunek artystyczny - uwspółcześniony hołd dla epoki Another World i Flashbacka.

Już od pierwszych chwil rzuca się w oczy charakterystyczna estetyka wizualna, oparta na dwubitowym trybie graficznym CGA z jego ikonicznymi odcieniami cyjanu i magenty. Choć paleta tych czterech kolorów bywa zmieniana w niektórych scenach, pozostaje to zgodne z ograniczeniami technologicznymi epoki, którą przywołuje. To, co wykracza poza możliwości tamtych czasów, to zdumiewająca płynność animacji oraz imponująca liczba sprite’ów pojawiających się jednocześnie na ekranie. Gracz niejednokrotnie staje w obliczu hord przeciwników, a także masywnych, zaskakująco szczegółowych bossów, którzy mogliby doprowadzić ówczesne komputery do palpitacji procesora.

Mogłoby się wydawać, że cztery kolory nie wystarczą na pokazanie czegokolwiek. Jednak twórcy udowodnili, że nawet z takimi ograniczeniami można stworzyć szereg różnorodnych i pełnych detali lokacji będących pulpowym przeglądem postapokaliptycznych scenariuszy. Od mrocznych korytarzy posiadłości rodem z Resident Evil, przez zrujnowane wojną miasta, po pełne kultystów ruiny - każda sceneria zachwyca kreatywnym wykorzystaniem obrysów i subtelnym sugerowaniem detali za pomocą zaledwie kilku pikseli. Rezultatem są unikalne i wyraziste obrazy, które na długo zapadają w pamięć.

Całości dopełnia hojna dawka efektów cząsteczkowych, tchnąca życie w te minimalistyczne pejzaże. Ulewny deszcz rozświetlają potężne błyskawice, rozgrzane powietrze wiruje wokół statku kosmicznego wchodzącego w atmosferę, a drobinki szkła sypiące się z rozbitych szyb przypominają śnieżne płatki w mroźny, zimowy wieczór. Nie brakuje tu dynamicznych scen.
Jedynym problemem jest czasami bardzo nieczytelny font. Rozczytanie tego bez mrużenia oczu to wyzwanie.
W tę podróż przez minimalistyczną, pogrążoną w wojnie Ziemię wyrusza Adam lub Ewa – ostatnia nadzieja statku pełnego kolonistów krążącego na orbicie planety. Zasoby są na wyczerpaniu, a poprzednia misja ratunkowa zaginęła bez śladu. Nie ma czasu na wahanie – trzeba postawić wszystko na jedną kartę, by ocalić zaginioną poprzedniczkę i uratować kolonistów przed niechybnym końcem.

Pod względem rozgrywki The Eternal Castle przypomina tzw. filmowe platformówki, jak wspomniany wcześniej Another World. Charakteryzowały się one skupieniem na narracji oraz płynnym, niemal naturalistycznym odwzorowaniem ruchów postaci – efektem zastosowania techniki rotoskopii. Gdy bohater przeskakuje przepaść, prawdopodobnie zawiśnie na krawędzi, a upadek z wysokości wymusi przewrót, aby uniknąć obrażeń.W gruncie rzeczy to Nathan Drake w 2D – choć z mniej responsywnym sterowaniem. W duchu klasyków epoki ruchy postaci cechuje pewna ociężałość, co wymaga planowania każdego działania z lekkim wyprzedzeniem. Taki styl sterowania bywa frustrujący, szczególnie podczas walki, ale idealnie wpisuje się w retro atmosferę.

Podobnie jak konieczność zachowawczego podejścia do eksploracji, bo gra nie stroni od nie fair rozmieszczonych pułapek czy przeciwników zdolnych zabić jednym atakiem. Śmierć czai się tu na każdym kroku i jest częstą dolegliwością. Nawet bardzo częstą. Na szczęście przy pierwszym przejściu punkty kontrolne są hojnie rozmieszczone, co łagodzi frustrację. Prawdziwe wyzwanie pojawia się dopiero w trybie NG+ oferującym rozgrywkę godną DOS-owej pozycji.

Myślę, że miłośnikom retro nie trzeba więcej polecać The Eternal Castle. Nie tylko idealnie trafia w nostalgiczne struny, ale też pozwala uniknąć frustrującego zderzenia z wyższym progiem wejścia dawnych pozycji. Niemniej, nie trzeba pamiętać czasów kartridża łupanego, by docenić fenomenalną, minimalistyczną oprawę graficznę, cudowny synthowy soundtrack czy wciąż świetną rozgrywkę i atmosferę. To nie tylko kapsuła czasu, ale też małe i krótkie dzieło sztuki. Gwarantuje dobrze spędzony wieczór.

The Eternal Castle is a pretty interesting game. Honestly the main reason I picked it up was its art style, it only uses up to 4 colors at one time which is both a blessing and a curse. It can look super interesting, but at times some of the action is hard to see due to these graphics.

But I mean the gameplay honestly while ok is not the best. They tried to go for a realistic movement "Prince of Persia" style which is cool but sometimes the weighty nature doesn't feel that good. Especially with the bosses which shoot projectiles in a bullet hell manner which are absolutely nearly impossible to dodge like this until you find out about the roll.

The game also doesn't explain a lot of mechanics to you which are really important like the roll, switching weapons or more.

The parkour is quite nice, but the combat is boring, it's either spamming while not knowing what's going on, or the bosses are just spamming 1 same mechanic, and the last one is extremely artificially difficult with its annoying sphere mechanic. The other bosses, even if they look cool, have super basic ways to defeat them, like the 2nd to last one, who I actually played the game for, as I thought the mech's design was cool, is just simply baiting it to try and hit you, climbing on its fist and attacking the pilot, about 4 times in a row...

For the price though, I'd say it's worth it, the story is short and sweet, the lore is interesting, but the gameplay isn't really there outside of the parkour, being only £6, but £3.59 on discount, I'd say to give it a go.

Don't even read people saying they played the game, they have no idea of what they talk about.

2D side scroller game that heavily reminds of classic games like Another World. It intentionally emulates the controls of those games and it took me a bit of time to get used to them, but once I did I thought they were pretty satisfactory in a way. The animations are really fluid and that helps too. The gameplay is a mix of platforming and combat sections. While the combat system is not that deep, these sections make room for some level of planning about what weapons to use, what enemies prioritize, how to use the space, etc. The difficulty is quite good, it's not an easy game but it's also not frustrating. There's also a lot of checkpoints so you don't lose too much progress when you die.

The visuals are very solid and, in spite of consisting basically of silhouettes and 4 colors, you can clearly see what's going on. Each area has its own unique atmosphere and aesthetic and there's some impressive and memorable sceneries.

There's very little text and dialogue but every level is detailed enough so you can infer what has happened there.

I recommend playing The Eternal Castle, but keep in mind that this type of game is not for everyone. You can beat it in about 3 or 4 hours and it has a very unique and nostalgic feel.

Juego de plataformas y acción de scroll lateral en 2D que recuerda mucho a clásicos como Another World. Los controles emulan intencionalmente a los de esos juegos y me costó un poco acostumbrarse a ellos, pero una vez lo hice me resultaron satisfactorios en cierta forma. Ayuda que las animaciones sean tan fluidas. El gameplay es una mezcla de plataformas y secciones de combate que, aun sin ser un sistema muy profundo, permiten cierta planificación en cuanto a qué armas usar, qué enemigos priorizar, cómo usar el espacio, etc. Para mí tiene un nivel de dificultad muy bueno, no es un juego fácil pero tampoco llega a ser frustrante por lo general. También tiene muchos puntos de guardado y no pierdes demasiado progreso al morir.

El estilo artístico está muy logrado y a pesar de ser básicamente siluetas y 4 colores consigue ser legible y que cada área tenga una atmósfera y estética distintas, además de crear algunos escenarios bastante bonitos y memorables.

El juego no tiene apenas texto pero las varias zonas que visitas a lo largo de la aventura están lo suficientemente caracterizadas como para que puedas imaginarte qué ha pasado.

Recomiendo The Eternal Castle aunque hay que tener en cuenta que este estilo de juego no es para todo el mundo. Es cortito (3 ó 4 horas) y tiene una atmósfera muy única y nostálgica.

Really cool cinematic platformer with a mystic and enigmatic tone. The art style and the animation are superb! It's really short but it has some extra modes when you finish it which are REALLY challenging, so if you really liked it and are into hardcore sh*t, you'll have plenty of fun. I just enjoyed the epic main story, which I finished in a bunch of hours, and I don't need more, it was INTENSE and SATISFYING.

Pretty sweet Another World type platformer. They did a really good job within the extreme limitations on graphics they set for themselves. Some remarkable imagery despite a palette of 4 colors and pre-DOS pixel resolution. You can burn through it in probably 2-3 hours. Has some frustrating combat sections but by and large feels good to play. It's also much more forgiving than those older heavy momentum games. Still, it would behoove you to learn and make use of the walk button your first playthrough.

Der sehr interessante Retrolook macht das Spiel so interessant und "anders" als viele andere Titel derzeit.
Das Spiel dauert ein paar Stunden und gerade wenn es beginnt anstrengend zu werden (bspw. ist Sprungtiming bei 18 FPS manchmal etwas schwierig, der letzte Endboss eher nervig als gut) endet das Spiel.
In Summe daher eine (eingeschränkte) Empfehlung.

It's funny that this game bills itself as "remastered"—not because it's an original game masquerading as a remaster, which is true—but because it inverts what a remaster is supposed to do. The typical remaster takes the bones of an older game and does an up-rez on the graphics, plus maybe shaves off some of the clunky controls and/or gameplay elements that fall short of table stakes for a modern game.

What The Eternal Castle remaster does, by contrast, is to take an essentially modern, cinematic platformer and present it through 2-bit CGA graphics; then layer on the clunky (by modern standards) controls of the original Prince of Persia or Another World.

The modern nature of the game shines through when you realize that the screen transitions—as you walk from the edge of one screen into the other edge of the next screen—are purely a camera translation in The Eternal Castle. Whereas no CGA-era game lets you shoot from one screen over at enemies on another screen, simply because there wasn't enough RAM to keep the whole world in memory. Or take gameplay. General purpose stamina bars weren't popularized until the Souls games, which is long, long after the CGA-era. Health regen too is a much more recent innovation. Even the graphics—which to the game's credit stay honest to the CGA color palette—pull tricks with character detail and transitions that would be way beyond the CPU cycles available to a CGA-era game.

More than anything else, perhaps what makes The Eternal Castle a thoroughly modern game is that you could consider it to be a 🚶 simulator. Even Another World, the cinematic classic that this game draws heavy inspiration from, felt the need to add challenging sequences (sometimes annoyingly so by modern standards) because that's what everyone thought games were supposed to do. That's not to say that The Eternal Castle doesn't have combat, and traps, and boss fights, like those old games. However, the game doesn't expect you to have to memorize extended sequences or build your skills as a player to finish the game. Merely retrying once or twice should get you past any obstacle.

It's a tricky game to recommend, because the audience for whom The Eternal Castle will land is so narrow. If you weren't there at the time, it's hard to imagine you getting past the clunky controls and learning to parse the pixelated noise that used to pass for graphics. But if you were there (or you wish you were there) this game offers a heady nostalgia trip to what might have been possible back in the day if an auteur the likes of Éric Chahi or Jordan Mechner had found an even more inspired muse.

Cineastisches Meisterwerk mit absolut einzigartigem Stil und einem Hammer Soundtrack.

Das Gameplay ist ähnlich wie Another World und ist am Anfang etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber mit ein bisschen Übung kommt man rein. Auf der einen Seite ist es zwar anfangs etwas unpräzise aber dafür werden einem mehr Fehler vergeben, als in anderen Spielen.

Von dieser Art von Spielen würde ich gerne mehr sehen. Es ist auf jeden Fall kein Einheitsbrei und sein Geld wert.

The presentation and visual design of this game are 10/10. Just like the store page shows. The audio design is great as well! A game for those who didn't actually grow up with CGA and weren't actually traumatized by it =D But for people fascinated by romanticized old limited palettes.

But beneath that, this game is rather clunky, with animation-locking moves and occasional traversal bugs. Still, the gameplay is a bit more involved than Another World and what I expected from a cinematic platformer. This is somewhat of a metroidvania.

The ng+ expects you to do a perfect no death run. Yeah, no. Not with those unresponsive controls.

I would've loved to make a game like this myself, or tinker with it to make it better. All in all, it's a very cool indie project.

El juego está planteado como un sueño. Nada más empezar elegimos entre Adam o Eve, y al morir, la pantalla de game over nos animará a retomar el juego con el mensaje wake up. Y tendremos que despertar muchas veces, pues el juego no será amable con nosotros. Por suerte, encontraremos numerosos checkpoints que nos dejarán cerca del último lugar donde quedemos tiesos.

Los textos están únicamente en inglés, pero no supone un gran problema, ya que la mayoría de la historia está contada a través de su narrativa audiovisual. No trata de contarnos muchos detalles, sino que busca ser una experiencia inmersiva.

Tras una fase inicial que sirve también como pequeño tutorial, podremos acceder a tres áreas: las ruinas antiguas, la ciudad olvidada o el laboratorio impío. En cada una de estas fases la ambientación será diferente, y la jugabilidad se centrará más en aspectos como los puzles o los combates. Una vez resueltas estas tres zonas, podremos ir al Eternal Castle.

Impacta mucho por su estilo visual, inspirado en las tarjetas gráficas CGA de principios de los 80. Coge estas limitaciones gráficas y las lleva al límite para crear entornos en los que, como sucedía antaño, tendremos que poner de nuestra parte para completar la información de lo que vemos. La ambientación es de una ciencia-ficción decadente, con entornos más bien post-apocalípticos. Los diferentes niveles tienen variaciones en la elección cromática, aportando un estilo único a cada sección. También son destacables los efectos de iluminación y animaciones.

El apartado sonoro destaca por ser envolvente y añadir la tensión necesaria en momentos puntuales de la aventura. Siguiendo la tónica anacrónica del juego, oiremos temas synthwave que le dan un aire futurista al conjunto.

La jugabilidad bebe mucho de las influencias citadas, con controles intencionadamente poco precisos a los que nos llevará un rato acostumbrarnos. Tendremos que calibrar los tiempos de respuesta al saltar o dejar de correr. Sin embargo, bajo esta capa retro se esconde una cierta complejidad en las acciones de nuestro personaje. Tenemos opciones para rodar, caminar despacio o agachado (muy útil en determinados momentos), así como esprintar para coger impulso y saltar más lejos. También tendremos que sortear todo tipo de trampas y enfrentarnos a enemigos. Empezaremos utilizando puñetazos y patadas, hasta que más adelante consigamos armas de larga distancia (pistolas, escopetas, ametralladoras) o de corta distancia (martillos, hachas, mazas). Eso sí, solamente podremos llevar dos armas encima. Por algún motivo, mi mando no me permitía intercambiar las armas, y tuve que usar la tecla Tab para poder realizar este comando.

Disponemos de una barra de vida y una de resistencia, que se verá reducida a medida que hagamos movimientos especiales como esprintar, agarrarnos a un saliente o golpear. Si la barra se agota, necesitaremos un rato para recuperarnos y volver a ser tan efectivos como antes. También podremos encontrar hasta diez objetos especiales que mejoran las características de nuestro personaje, y unos fragmentos que nos ayudarán a volver a casa. Estos acostumbran a estar ocultos durante el escenario, de manera que si queremos completarlo al 100% tendremos que estar bien atentos. Conseguir todos los fragmentos nos compensará con un final alternativo.

Tras acabar el juego, podemos volver a comenzar en un modo de muerte permanente. Es la más bestia que he jugado nunca, ya que al morir no vuelves a comenzar desde el principio, sino que el fichero de juego queda inutilizado. También desbloqueamos el modo Lost Tales con dos modos de juego nuevos: una historia alternativa con una dificultad bastante elevada y un modo duelo para luchar una serie de rondas contra un oponente.

[h2]Conclusión[/h2]

The Eternal Castle es un juego que probablemente no es para todo el mundo. Para poder disfrutarlo se necesita un poco de la paciencia que precisaban los juegos de antaño, a menudo injustos en su dificultad. Su particular aspecto visual y control es parte también de esta experiencia, llevando el creador al extremo de hacernos creer que se trata de un juego perdido de 1987. Pero lo cierto es que Leonard Menchiari ha sabido crear algo con personalidad propia. También involucrado en el desarrollo de Trek to Yomi, estaremos pendientes de sus próximas creaciones.

The Eternal Castle [REMASTERED] es un juego completamente infravalorado; tiene una historia principal retrofuturista que, acompañada con un diseño gráfico con planos cinematográficos, visualmente impactante y diferente a lo usual (gracias a modelos 3d pixelados, que le brindan una gran fluidez a las animaciones sin perder el estilo gráfico pixel art), da una sensación nueva y al mismo tiempo nostálgica de algunas experiencias retro como Prince of Persia (1989)

La historia base, cuenta con múltiples finales que únicamente se desbloquean si se completa el juego en diferentes dificultades como el modo hardcore (el cuál es muy complicado y te hace plantearte cómo realizar cada movimiento antes de ir a la siguiente etapa, ya que si morís, el savedata se vuelve corrupto y tenés que comenzar todo el juego desde 0), modo recomendado únicamente a quien quiera perder un poco de sanidad mental.

Aparte de este modo historia con diferentes dificultades, cuenta con 2 modos alternos: uno de combates 1vs1 contra la máquina u otro jugador en varios mapas, y una historia diferente breve con otro contexto, personajes y mapas (la cual me resultó tan interesante como la historia base del juego y me dejó deseando más historias similares)

Cool game! Inspired by old adventure games, it really acts the part. The game looks great, and takes place in a unique world that was great to explore.

It's definitely not perfect. Controls can be a bit clunky, the friendly AI is as dumb as a sack of bricks to the point it might as well not even be there, and the margin of error on the final boss is way too narrow (especially with that long intro), but none of that ruins the game by any means, especially considering the game as a whole wasn't too hard (nor too easy).

I definitely enjoyed my time with the game.

面白いかなあ？
アウターワールドはリニアな構造だけど、このゲームは3つのステージから行くところを選ぶわけなんだが
この3つのどれも右に進むだけなんで、割と飽きが来る。一個がなげーのよ。

ロケーションについてもそうで、ちょっと理詰め感が高すぎる。
アウトワールドは理不尽な謎解きがストレスというかわけわかんないんだけど、
でも意味わかんないとこ来ちゃったなってところがモチベーションになるわけで、
このゲームはなんか電池みたいなのを集める話なんだけど、最終的にえらい奴が電池持ってるっていう構造がわかっているので
だりー、早くつかねーかな、となっちゃう。なっちゃうよね？？

ドット絵の演出が…とか言い出したら
それこそアウターワールドやドラゴンズロアを今からやれば良い気もするし…。

割と「こういう在り方なんだから褒めろ」と言わんばかりの作りなので、
あえて逆張りでサムズダウンしときます。

もっといい横スクロールアクションは世の中に沢山あります。

🤔 Я отношу данную игру именно ко второй категории и сейчас объясню почему. Откройте прямо сейчас страницу с игрой и посмотрите трейлер. При этом оба мнения будут истинной, ведь игра воспринимается именно в синергии этих реакций (ну или эмоций, как в конце мультфильма "Головоломка"). 😃 Но я пишу положительный отзыв по нескольким причинам. Мне нравятся нестандартные игры, они разбавляют застойность однотипных проектов. Меня впечатлили эпичные моменты и анимации финального босса. Да я просто играл и ностальгировал по былым временам с [b]"NES"[/b], хоть там и была уже 8-битная графика. Драйвовая музыка, или же полная тишина задавали нужный настрой там где это действительно нужно, не все разработчики с этим могут справиться. Ну и цена за эту игру мала, а если уж брать по скидке...

도트로 이 정도 연출이 된다는게 정말 대단한 것 같습니다.
다만 색감이 색감인지라 하다보면 눈이 많이 피로할 수도 있지만,
플레이 타임이 그렇게 길지가 않아서 적당히 즐길 수 있을 것 같습니다.
게임 가격에 비해 연출이 너무 좋아서 한번 쯤 킬링 타임처럼
해 보는 것도 나쁘지 않을 것 같습니다.
아, 한국어 번역이 없어서 영어를 읽어야하는데 가독성이 너무 떨어져서
영어 읽기만 하는 것도 벅찹니다.
그게 제일 아쉽습니다.
천원에 이 정도면 정말 괜찮은 게임입니다.

The gameplay controls exhibit an incredibly cumbersome nature, and despite my appreciation for the art style, it fails to deliver satisfactory visual clarity. К сожалению не проходил оригинал и решил попробовать этот ремастер, нативная версия для Linux сперва ругалась на отсутствие библиотеки libcrypto.so.1.0.0,
которую благополучно установив отсюда http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl1.0/ после перестала запускаться
из стима вообще, но работала из каталога с игрой. Вообщем кривая обёртка GameMaker для linux (YoYo Games Linux Runner V1.3) которая наотказ работать со стимом не хотела, собственно упокой душу этой обертки.

Плюнув на это дело подумал ну с Proton то будет всё нормально, но не тут то было игра запускалась в очень маленьком окне и
стандартными средствами рабочего стола Mate открывать на полный экран не хотела.

Пришлось использовать protontricks 963450 winecfg и убрать галочку с "разрешить менеджеру окон управлять окнами Wine".
ALT+TAB не работает корректно, окна игры нет после выбора другого окна.
Ну вообщем да, танцы с бубном как обычно...

Ну, а что по касается самой игры в такой стилистике играется просто супер, движения главного героя, механики боя, сюжет, босссы
всё на отличном уровне. Эдакая смесь Another World и Flashback.

I am quite happy to have played this game. It's shockingly stylish up front, and although it can be frustrating, mostly due to relatively unresponsive controls combined with necessary clean mechanics, it begins to feel smooth once you understand what you're capable of.

The story is not explicitly drawn out for the player, but one can piece together all sorts of intimate details about the various environments that make up this odd world.

There is an abundance of content after the initial run, as well. I won't delve into it too much, but NG+ as well as a couple of different modes are available after "saving her", each with their own new set of difficulties and discoveries. Given that there is very little information online related to this game, it is incredibly difficult to spoil the experience.

Definite recommend, but definitely check into the thumbs-down reviews - there are elements that may turn off potential players.

Some people hate these animation priority games (we need a better term for this, think Dark Souls and Monster Hunter). But I'm a huge fan of not having inhuman, overpowered animations on my side. Plus there are all the little touches. Metroid Dread, pressing Samus up against a wall, you know if you know.

The character control is very clumsy, and the graphics are too crappy. I know that they want to imitate the old school aesthetic, and in a way I like it, but it is exaggerated for a game today: you barely understand anything of what is happening. The controls never give you the feeling that you dominate the game, the controls dominate you.
I would love this game, but I cannot.

One of the best indie and post apocalyptic games I have ever played. While it's got janky movement that may turn off many people who try it, it just captivates me on a whole other level. It follows the formula of old 80s games and refines it amazingly. The animation the game has is some of the best pixel art animation I've seen, with attacks feeling meaty and guns hitting hard. The style the game has leaves a lot to the imagination (in a good way), where you feel like you're actually exploring the world it's set in.

While it's gameplay may turn off some people, I genuinely can't praise it enough. If the devs ever make another game in this style I'd order it in a heartbeat. Top tier remaster.

Had this game on my wishlist since its launch and finally managed to get through it. It's a nice, short pixelly cinematic platformers with really heavy controls. I enjoyed it and I'll definitely remeber some bits of it

Im so glad I came back to this one. My first run, I found the visuals a bit jarring. But after
revisiting, I was delighted to find one of the best action adventure titles on the indie market. If you like Flashback or Out of this World, add this one to your collection!
