The Deer is one of those tiny, oddball indie projects that feels more like an interactive joke than a full game. You play as a giant deer wandering through a city, knocking things over, causing harmless chaos, and leaving confused NPCs in your wake. On the surface, it’s charming in a “what did I just download?” kind of way, but the experience is so short and shallow that it barely has time to make an impression.
The game’s humor is its biggest draw. There’s something inherently funny about controlling a huge, derpy deer sliding around streets, bumping into objects, and generally behaving like a clumsy kaiju with antlers. The ragdoll effects and awkward animations add to the absurdity, making it feel like a physics-driven toybox.
However, once the initial amusement passes, usually within a few minutes, The Deer runs out of things to do. There are no objectives, no meaningful interactions, no progression, and very little gameplay structure. You walk around, push stuff over, maybe giggle once or twice, and then… that’s it. The game ends before it even begins.
Visually, the game is simple and a bit rough, but not unpleasant. The environments look basic, the character models are stiff, and the animations are clunky, but for a low-budget novelty experience it gets the job done. The sound design is minimal too, with light ambient audio and a few simple effects.
The biggest issue is value, even at a low price, the content is so limited that most players feel like they only got a short tech demo or a joke project. It’s the kind of game you launch once, show to a friend for a laugh, and never touch again.

Dla dzieci w wieku 6-8 lat, ewentualnie do 10 lat. Prosta gra edukacyjna o megafaunie epoki plejstocenu (czyli podczas ostatniej epoki lodowcowej). Jeleń jest główną postacią. Chodzi w prawo i lewo, odkrywając informacje pisemne i trzy małe pasujące mini-gry. (Naprawdę mógłbym się obejść bez czapek świątecznych na wszystkich zwierzętach i chciałbym zobaczyć mamuta gdzieś w tle.)
Moja ocena jest neutralna. Ale może być dobrą grą dla początkujących małych dzieci. Można ją znaleźć w sprzedaży, jeśli 1 dolar amerykański to za dużo. Ma karty kolekcjonerskie.

Заданий, вызовов или интерактивных моментов практически нет. Повествование ведется с минимальным акцентом на драматургию, из-за чего теряется чувство вовлеченности.
Визуально игра выглядит симпатично, но весьма примитивно. Простая графика могла бы сойти для мобильного проекта, но на ПК она оставляет ощущение сырости и недоработанности.

Vamos a darle crédito donde se debe: la idea de ser un ciervo no es algo que veas todos los días en la tienda de juegos. Entre esquivar cazadores y buscar la mejor hierba del bosque, tienes interacción con otros animalitos boscosos que a veces te llevan a preguntarte si el equipo de desarrollo estaba experimentando su propio épico viaje en el bosque mientras diseñaban esto.

Con todos estos saltos y caminatas en la naturaleza, uno esperaría más de la IA. Los otros animales parecen más perdidos que turistas sin GPS, haciendo que la “gran cacería” sea más bien una sesión de terapia con los compañeros de bosque. Y ni hablemos del argumento, que se dispersa más rápido que un grupo de cervatillos asustados.

The Deer is a very short interactive storybook meant for children with many factoids and a few mini games that all aim to teach. It is in no way meant for adults and you will definitely get bored by how easy the mini games are, though the facts they put in the game might still be an interesting read for some.
Gameplay is very easy and a child will have no issues understanding the movement scheme and what to do in minigames.

It took me longer to figure out how to skip the Unity configuration screen (was too big for my screen and I could not see the confirm button - alt + ž if anyone with a Slovenian keyboard ever needs it) than to finish this game. No seriously, the game is about 2 minutes long.
The game itself is adorable, has 3 mini-games and it presents you some facts about a time long long ago, but it is just way too short. The Steam store page itself tells you that the game is meant to be “educational interactive experience for children” so I obviously shouldn’t be playing this, but did I mention that the game is ridiculously short? If it was free I would give it a pass, but like this no. It probably took me longer to write the review to play the game too...

Минута доброты и тепла как никогда нужна, особенно под новый год! И это не игра то вовсе, а виртуальная книга, очень милая и красивая, хотя безумно мало наполненная. Нужно ли вообще такое в стиме - спорный вопрос. Да и сделана она чисто для детей, такой простенький, крохотный рассказ на 5 минут, где вы можете усадить ребёнка перед экраном, а он понажимает кнопочки. К сожалению, единицы людей так сделают, т.к. игра на английском, однако потренировать его вместе с родителями вполне хватит. Ну или родители просто могут зачитывать надписи вслух тем самым делая детский досуг чуточку веселее. Визуальная часть представляет собой очень милое и приятное нарисованное 2D полотно, где мы по лесу гуляем оленем (слева-направо) попутно читая маленькие высказывания других зверушек, какие-то замечания, и выполняя парочку совсем простых логических задачек. Всё под приятную музыку и звуки природы. Но, контента очень мало, даже на книгу на самом деле не тянет, скорее предисловие к ней или вообще подробная обложка. Что-то очень похожее было на старте продаж самого первого Ipad в мире. Нам показывали, что можно теперь читать и смотреть анимированные книги, это удобно, весело, красиво, здесь отдалённо нечто похожее. Нужно ли это в игровом сервисе спустя столько лет, каждый ответит сам. Рука не поднимается поставить дизлайк или типа того, да и цена крошечные 19 рублей, поэтому палец вверх, пускай да будет! А вообще добавив истории хотя бы минут на 20, смело можно было продавать рублей за 50, никто бы плохого слова не сказал!
У нас в стране купят только ради карточек, которые то ли глючат, то ли не выпадают вообще, если вы здесь за этим, лучше воздержитесь!
За необычность - Оценка 8 оленей из десяти!

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

It's a cute little game about a deer walking in a forest. Sadly that is all what this game is about. It can be completed in under 30 minutes, there is a few small puzzles, but other than that, it has nothing to it. I wouldn't really recommend the game.

"Geyik" çocuklar için tasarlanmış eğitici bir interaktif deneyimdir. Bu oyunda oyuncular, Buzul Çağı olarak da bilinen Pleistosen döneminde yaşamış eski bir geyiğin rolünü üstlenirler. Bu büyüleyici dönemi keşfetme ve öğrenme fırsatına sahip olacaklar.
Oyunda vurgulanan önemli hususlardan biri, Pleistosen çağında dinozorların bulunmadığıdır. Dinozorların soyu, Pleistosen'in başlamasından 60 milyon yıl önce meydana gelen Kretase Dönemi'nin sonunda tükenmiştir. Oyuncular bunun yerine, bu dönemde var olan ve birçoğu modern akrabalarına kıyasla çok daha büyük boyutlarda olan çeşitli memelileri keşfedecekler.
"Geyik" ayrıca milyonlarca yıl boyunca okyanusların baskın yırtıcısı olan ancak sonunda Pleistosen döneminde ortadan kaybolan Megalodon olarak bilinen dev köpekbalığının neslinin tükenmesine de ışık tutuyor.
Oyun, çocukların tarih öncesi dönemler hakkında ilginç gerçekleri öğrenmeleri için ilgi çekici bir yol sunuyor. "Geyik "in çizimleri illüstratör Giulia Airoldi tarafından yapılmış ve eğitim deneyimine görsel bir çekicilik katmıştır.

Best game I've ever played and hands down the best game I've ever brought!
This game you play as a deer which is easily the best ever animal of all time counting all the universes combined and no one can say other wise okay so anyways you play as a deer which a lot of games don't do btw *cough* *cough* take note call of duty more like call of bad anyways in this game you learn more than you would learn at high school i mean you play a game and as a deer its easier to learn that way and omg it has games with the learning *cough* *cough* take notes teachers plus the graphics oh the graphics look so nice and so clean with many cute animals and no stinky humans anyways I'll easily give this game a 10/10 i wish i could go higher actually why not as this is MY review infinity/10 now that's what I'm talking about.
De la pure merde, en 8 minutes j'avais fini tout ce qu'il y avait à voir dans le jeu et rien n'avait le moindre semblant d'intérêt. D'ailleurs, le vidéo du Steam Store vous montre l'intégralité du contenu. Il n'y a absolument rien d'autre à voir, la seule raison pourquoi j'ai 45 minutes de temps de jeu c'est pour avoir les cartes.

比起游戏，更像是早教故事书。但是若看作早教产品，不足的点又太多了
This is not a game, it’s supposed to be an educational tool to teach children about the Ice Age era. Educational in the sense that almost everything relevant is in text form, the only interaction you have is moving the mouse to the relevant spots to display information, moving the deer left and right, and 3 minigames that I think even children will be bored to play.
I don’t know, it doesn’t pretend to be a game or anything like that, so it is worth a few cents on sale I suppose. For a 5-10 minutes experience, more if you’re showing this to kids. This means you need to idle to get all trading cards to drop as well.

A 5-10 minute "journey". It really is a kids' game, but still I can't find the reason to buy this. Even for free it doesn't have much to offer. HUGE pass.
1/10 just for the cute graphics.
Not much to review considering how short this kids game is. I don't think even kids would be super entertained by this.
