Mildly recommended.

This is a good example of an okay game that does most things right to an acceptable level, but doesn't do anything great. The graphics and presentation are not aging very well, but aren't bad. The story is a bit generic, yet I didn't mind it. The voice acting was passable with a couple interesting characters. I did like the mini-games and puzzles. For how short it is and how just okay it is, I'd get it on a deep discount, but you are not missing out if you skip.

Sorti initialement en 2011, Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Stix est un jeu d'objets cachés light... très light et également de puzzle (là aussi très light).

Mina après des cauchemars où apparaît sa grand-mère décide d'aller de faire un tour à la demeure de celle ci et se retrouve dans une histoire de sorcier/démon (je suis pas trop sûr de ce qu'il est au final) qui veut conquérir... heu je sais pas trop là aussi ^^ Disons clairement, l'histoire est nulle, archi nulle. C'est le niveau zéro de l'écriture... on ne comprend pas grand chose, il n'y a aucun rebond ou fulgurance de la narration... 2 heures (voire moins) de platitude absolue.

Graphiquement, c'est moche. le problème de ces jeux qui veulent utiliser le photo montage c'est qu'ils dépérissent très vite par rapport à un jeu où on utilise le dessin. Ici, avec la résolution ça pique les yeux et souvent on trouve les quelques "trucs" à rechercher plus par hasard en cliquant au "pifomètre" que par une réelle vision de celui ci à un endroit précis. Les scènes sont peu inspirées et je ne parle pas du character design tellement c'est risible. Ca doit être la même école que celle pour le Gollum sorti il y a peu ^^

Le doublage est bon sans plus mais par contre l'écriture des personnages donne des envies de meurtres tellement, ils sont insupportables et il y a en particulier le "machin" vert (Un Gobelin je suppose) qui vous accompagne.

Tales From The Dragon Mountain: The Strix est un mauvais jeu. Peut-être qu'en 2011, on pouvait s'en contenter mais clairement là maintenant c'est non... Comme déjà dit, ce n'est pas un Hidden à proprement parlé et les puzzles sont... j'ai pas de mot pour dire ce que j'en pense... D'ailleurs, le match3 est l'un des plus mauvais que j'ai pu jouer. C'est simple, si j'avais commencé avec lui je n'aurais plus jamais acheté de jeu de ce style par la suite tellement le feeling est mauvais.

Pas recommandé... du tout... du tout.

Very basic hidden object game. It only took my 1 and a half hours to finish while playing casually. There were no challenging puzzles, with the only real difficulty being a sometimes unclear objective. Graphics were fairly blocky and basic as well. It's alright as a starter game, but you can honestly get much better made games for the same pricepoint.

This is the kind of game we used to buy at yard sales or flea markets. Old, dated, and I paid a whole quarter. I'm guessing this is supposed to be the fantasy version of a buddy cop movie? For twenty five cents USD I got to watch two characters who despised each other argue. Though there was a weird break where the buddy cop, er gnome, hit on the main character. OK....

Although it does have its moments, I have to admit, I had to force myself to play to the end. The controls are clunky, and I really wanted a hidden object game, not a point and click adventure. I'm sure this studio tried, but it just falls flat and gets boring in places. And describing the graphics as beautiful is really pushing it.

If you can get it for a quarter and love the dated look, knock yourself out. But three bucks seems kind of steep to watch characters argue so much. Sorry, but I can't recommend this one. Maybe this studio should give these older games away to build up some nostalgic goodwill, but the quarter I paid would be about right otherwise.

a really short but enjoyable HOG that is worth trying.

pros.
funny voice acting.. sometimes it is even cringy. but well at least they did better job than some expensive HOGs i have played :/
i like the idea of every area is a HO scene

cons.
very short. less than 1 hour 30
no bonus story
the graphics are not bad per say but just too simple.... like someone just learned how to design (they look like graphics from the 90s)
the items are not blended well in the scenes they are too shiny
kinda too easy

i barely recommend this game. only get it if you are a collector of HOGs like my self or from a bundle

Je sais bien que c'est compliqué de faire quelque chose de cohèrent et crédible dans un univers féérique mais là c'est vraiment très décousu avec une histoire poussive et des personnages sans intérêt même pour les canons du genre. La petite originalité, l'alternance par clic droit inventaire/liste d'objets cachés qui permet de jouer simultanément le point&click et le HOG change des SOC traditionnelles et n'est pas pour me déplaire mais le jeu a vraiment trop peu de charme visuel et scénaristique pour que j'y accroche.

Je me suis forcé pour finir.

Comprei esse game da Cateia com um pouco de receio porque os comentários eram negativos, mas joguei e gostei. Na minha opinião os ícones que sinalizam os lugares aonde ir e os objetos são mais discretos que na maioria dos Hidden Objects Games (HOG), mas a história é boa, a trilha sonora também e os gráficos e animações são bons pra um jogo casual. Cabe um alerta. Só compre se você conhece e gosta do estilo.

ich habe es damals blind gekauft als es im Angebot war. also, ohne die Reviews und Bewertungen anzuschauen. als, ich dann gesehen habe, dass es größtenteils negative Bewertungen bekam, hatte ich das schlimmste befürchtet. allerdings muss ich sagen, dass meine Befürchtungen zum Glück nicht erfüllt wurden. es ist sicher nicht das beste Spiel aller Zeiten, aber für 5 € oder auch jetzt im Angebot für 1,50 kann man es durchaus kaufen. die Story ist nicht schlecht, die Grafik ist für so ein billiges Spiel auch ganz ordentlich und die Charaktere sind auch recht sympathisch. allerdings hapert in der Tat manchmal die Spielmechanik und man muss manchmal um ein paar Ecken denken, um weiter zu kommen. aber alles in allem ist es trotzdem kein schlechte Spiel, wie die Bewertungen mutmaßen. für 1,50 würde ich es jedenfalls noch mal kaufen.

Pues muy corto y malucho. Tanto los puzzles como las EOO facilísimos, no supone absolutamente ningún reto ni ningún desafío. La historia normalucha. Los modelados de los personajes, regulares. El control, también un poco regular. En fin, para matar el tiempo hay cosas mejores.

This game almost got a recommendation from me, however it falls short due to two important things. The first is the story. It kind of works, but it is too simple and short to give the player any value other than to just force feed us the next puzzle or area. The other big shortcomming is the voice acting, and this problem really ehances the weakness that the story is to the game. Having few voice actors in a game is not necessarily something to make a big fuzz about in a budget title, but this game would have gained more from only written dialoge rather than the addition of these voice actors. It might be that the game is targeting children and that a child of about 10-12 would enjoy this more, but for me it was simply so detrimental that it just dragged the experience enough down to miss the recommendation.

The puzzles are somewhat enjoyable and the grapichs and aestethics are serviceable. The mechanic I enjoyed the most was the ability to tweak the difficulty in the options to fit your playstyle and patience. I also encountered a bug when trying to click object. Just some small glitches that made is a little cumbersome to click and choose the objects you want to. Fixing this would have given the game just that little extra feel of polish.

Not recommended, but close nonetheless. One of the better non-recommended games for my taste.

While I loved the soundtrack and the graphisms, I was kinda disappointed in the items to find: not always really visible, sometimes you don't know what to do - though it's mainly a concern when playing directly in Adventure Mode. I found also the game really short and without a lot of minigames, though these ones are for once really easy. You don't have to battle for "hours" to solve them without passing. The voice acting is good in my opinion. Too bad there is no achievement to show on Steam but only in-game, I would have loved to show that I unlocked the sparkles ones (perhaps easy after finding how you need to do). Anyway, there are better HOG games out there (I think about Artifex Mundi or Mumbo Jumbo products) but it was still a nice ride, mainly for beginners (unless going for Adventure mode directly).

Edit July 2023: After years, my opinion didn't change about this game, it's still not easy to see what to do and minigames are still easy to beat. However, I replayed it because of an update adding Steam achievements (finally) and well, it's still enjoyable. I also realised that I was stuck at the same spots as years ago. Now, I'm waiting for the update for the second game in the series, with a game breaking bug that should be patched now and provided normally through Steam. And I hope achievements.

A short and typical point and click adventure. I finished it in a couple hours. People less used to this style of game may take longer.
Worked with the stylus on the Windows Surface Pro 3. :D (other point and click games failed this category)
Voice acting is amusing too.
Lots of good options in the menu like turning the music, voice and sound effects down seperately. Also several settings to make it trickier, like removing the custom cursor and sparklels.
In the end it was a good sale buy for me.

Schöne Bilder, nicht so überfrachtet. Mal nicht nur dieses trübe in düster was scheints sonst gerad modern ist. Auch die vermeintlich bösen Charaktäre wurden mit Würde gezeichnet, mal abgesehen vom bösen Oberschurken ;-)
Die kleinen Rätsel fand ich allerdings viel zu einfach. Auch im Abenteuermodus werden sie leider nicht anspruchsvoller. Dafür - und dafür daß das Ganze doch leider für meinen Geschmack ein bischen zu kurz war - gibt es einen Punktabzug.
Für den vollen Spielspaß empfehle ich im Abenteuermodus zu beginnen. Man kann dann jederzeit, sollte man mal nicht weiterkommen auf easy umschalten . und wieder zurück.
Alles in allem in zauberschönes und phantasiereiches Spiel, hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht!

脱出ゲーム＋アイテム探しゲーム.日本語が公式対応ということでホイホイ釣られてやってみたものの、たまーに不思議な会話になっていて面白い.
「貴方は何なの？」「またあとで話すよ」「うーん、すばらしい！」という会話を見て、オブリビオンのＮＰＣたちのフリーダムな会話を思い出した.システムやグラフィック的にはブラウザゲームという感じだけれども、これぞカジュアルゲーという感じがするので、その手のゲームが好きな人や気になっている人にはオススメ

First of all, this game is very short and the puzzles very easy. Finished it in two hours without problems. Click a bit around, find all items in the scene, try to combine items or use them. Next puzzle.

Secondly and more important: The story is very poor, the dialogs are cheesy and the ending not satisfying. There is no mystery to solve, no story to uncover. Games like this need a story that drags you in. I wandered through the game and always wondered, why I am doing this or that.

Without a good story it is just a series of short, not very interesing puzzles. There are better implementations of this kind of games out there, played one just last week. An undead pirate had captured my daughter and I had to free her. The hunt for the daughter was the driving force and motivation, the history of the pirate a mystery to uncover.

Not a traditional Hidden Object Game, as the objects that are hidden are in the frames/scenes themselves, so you only need to find one or two at a time which you aquire as items (rather than a zoom-in where you find a list of things before gaining an item).

The cut scenes are pretty fuzzy and the voice acting is bad to the point of cringe-worthy distraction. On the plus side, there are many options to make the user interface easy to work with at the expense of making the puzzles a bit easier.

Overall , its hard to recommend this to casual players because there are better examples of the genre worth looking into and experienced adventure gamers will find the story and puzzles obtuse and difficult to care about.
