Depuis septembre 2022, les serveurs de jeu sont hors ligne, ce qui rends les fonctionnalités multijoueurs en ligne inaccessibles.

Strikers Edge, alors ?

Jeu principalement en ligne ? Mais : Pas de mode multijoueur. Même pas de peer-to-peer. Il y a bien une campagne, mais ce n'est qu'une succession de parties rapides avec des textes de fantasy génériques. Le gameplay est monotone et manque cruellement d'un petit quelques choses qui le rendrait plus fun avec de la rejouabilité.
Graphismes pourtant réussis !

一款非常優質的俯瞰射擊PvP遊戲，玩家只能在自己的陣地與敵人對射，最多可以玩2v2。除了投擲武器以外還有格擋、迴避以及蓄力攻擊，算是挺豐富的。
目前玩下來覺得1v1很容易陷入僵局的局面，彼此使用投擲攻擊可以互相打掉，蓄力攻擊又很花時間，雙方走位只要很菜就很難找到突破口。看來是2v2會比較有趣一點。

但很可惜這款遊戲的連線似乎故障了，我開了過好長一段時間始終無法連線上去，本來想說送個一份給朋友一起玩但看來是沒辦法了。
偏偏這遊戲的成就8成都與線上遊玩有關，身為成就廚的我感到很難受。

Honestly, this game is absolutely not worth it. Even on sale. I don't even know why the publisher is continuing to sell a game that some of its advertised features are not accessible anymore.

The servers for the game have been shut down for a long time, and since the devs never implemented any other solution for online play such as P2P connections, the online mode is completely inaccessible. The game just constantly tries to connect to servers, fails, does a countdown to retry, then repeats from the beginning. Now since nearly all of the achievements are bound to the online mode as well, this means doing a 100% completion of the game is now impossible.

And even if one tries to play it locally or through Steam Remote Play, the game we have here is not something I would ever recommend to anyone who desires a party game to enjoy with their friends, as it's incredibly uneventful and slow, thus getting stale and boring pretty fast. Not to mention the slippery movements which can annoy many who want precision in a game like this.

You cannot even enjoy the single player campaign mode, as it's just a series of quick matches with AI, decorated with some fantasy story texts and uninspired in-game dialogues. Since the gameplay is not something to hook you in either as I previously mentioned, there's nothing in the game to make you want to continue playing it after the 10 or 15 minutes you spend with it.

Trust me, this is not worth it even at 90% off. Save your money and spend it on something else.

As much as it looks fun and the graphics are cool, it is waaaaay too hard to aim at people in this game. And I agree with a previous comment, ice physics are not only applied to the player movement but the aiming as well, makes it touuuugh, and then yeah with this much difficulty in moving, it takes way too long to kill the opponent.

I tried to play campaign on normal, and granted, I kinda suck at videogames, but I couldn't even get past the first guy. The game says it's like Towerfall but dodgeball, but I actually like Towerfall the more I play it, and the more I play this game the more frustrating it is.

El juego es muy divertido, sobre todo si se juega con amigos. Las mecánicas de juego aparentan ser simples pero se les puede encontrar profundidad en partidas contra otros.
Necesita algún pulido en cuestiones de diseño de sonido e interfaz que aportarían a la calidad general. No pude conectarme al online pero supongo que es normal para un juego pequeño de hace 6 años.
Saltando esos detalles el juego es muy entretenido. Recomiendo!

키마유저가 스팀을 통해 온라인 멀티로 친구와 플레이하려고 한다면 추천드리지 않습니다. 예전 평가를 살펴보면 스팀으로도 온라인 플레이한 유저가 있는 것 같은데 현재는 온라인 로그인 자체가 되지 않네요. Remote Play는 지원하는 듯하나 로컬 참여키가 키보드로는 구현되어있지 않네요. 온라인뿐만 아니라 키마유저는 로컬로 만나도 멀티가 불가능한 실정입니다. 출시된지 6년이 넘어가는데 아직 pc로는 미구현된 구석이 많네요

Dunno why they didn't even added a Lobby/Room system to at least allow tournaments and people to play the game with friends.

This is primarily a PvP game, but the servers are non-functional/pulled because the game is no longer supported. Only the single player campaign and Local are functional.

It really should be taken down or reduced to < 5 bucks.

It's fantasy dodge-ball. It's quite a fun concept. I'll update this review if/when i get around to finishing a full 'single-player' experience, but the review will remain not-recommended.

[h1] Bit rough around that Striker's Edge [/h1]

Okay, I put nearly 2 hours into this game and got whatever achievements I can.I did enjoy the game and gameplay despite being bit rough around the edges.The gameplay suffers from small bugs/glitches that can sometimes decide an outcome of the match. For me when I was playing 2V2 (with AI bots since no real players could be found) the Barbarian on the enemy team had his axes glitched which span in mid-air and his health bar was staying still while he could move aorund. At other times when I tried to hit the blockade ( in this instance an ice pillar) it didn't damage it but it bounced off of it instead, as if the blockade deflected it (blockades are all destroyable). The next problem this game suffers from is it's barebones "Campaign" if I can even call it as such. The game was clearly made for MP/Twitch purpose and it shows how bland and barebone it is, if no one plays it. Shame as it could be the next successor to Soccer Brawl or the more closer relative Windjammers both of which are an amazing NeoGeo games and way more fun than this.

Pros:
✅ Characters and levels
✅ Overall graphics
✅ "Campaign" but only barely

Cons:
❌ Multiplayer is dead
❌ Has a few lil' bugs some of which are occaisonal but still...

Personal score: ★★☆☆☆

🤖Final words: Only fun if you're playing this with friends or if you're following a streamer who plays this, then go for it otherwise take your money elsewhere.

메인에서 P 버튼 누르고 나오는 Party 화면에서 왜 친구가 안보일까요
스팀 오버레이에서 친구 초대하는 버튼이나 게임 참가 버튼도 활성화 안되어있네요
로컬말고 온라인으로 초대해서 같이 2:2 돌리고 싶은데 불가능...
하는사람이 적어서 그냥 동시에 매칭돌리면 같이 잡히긴하는데 2:2는 서로 상대팀으로 A.I 컴퓨터 끼고 하네요

한국에서는 온라인 멀티 핑이 높게 나와서 1vs1은 핑 100ms, 2vs2는 200~290ms 정도 나와요 참고하세요

게임은 꽤 재밌는데 핑이 조금있어서

굴렀는데 맞는다던가
숨었는데 맞는다던가

I AM BORDERLINE ON RECOMMENDING. I can only recommend this game in good conscious to a group of people who can play with each other / against each other either online or in local couch co-op setting. Mechanically speaking, this game is fun as hell. Unfortunately, the community is dead and you'll only get queued against the same AI bot once your queue time hits a certain length. The campaign for each character is short, stale, and contains bland lore thus there isn't much content there. Overall, if you plan to play with a friend online or couch co-op this one, it'd be a really good time. Beyond this scenario, I wouldn't recommend.

Basically no content. You will see everything the game has to offer in the first five minutes
Strikers Edge is basically a minigame that you can find for free elsewhere (HotS and SC2 had it in better version)
The matches are really, really slow. Characters have too much hp for how easy is to dodge
The characters are not balanced at all

I really wanted to like this game since I liked the concept but I was disappointed after playing.

+ gameplay had so much potential (Pudge-war gameplay with different heroes)
+ Heroes all had unique gimmicks

- single player experience/story was mediocre. (No voice acting or artwork for the campaign - just walls of text)
- Online is pretty dead.
- Tried playing with my SO online and the ping/latency made it unbearable - also very limited options.

All in all, I would suggest that you try other games out there. This just ain't it.

Very well done graphics and mechanics that are also easy to learn.
The only problem is it's a multiplayer game so don't expect many players.

I want to like this game, but there a few things that set it back. I think the concept is great and it has a lot of potential. I like the fact that you can play locally, online, and with bots. The fighters are pretty unique and while they control the same, they each have a unique feel and move that makes it fun to mess around with (for example, the Spartan can throw his shield, etc)

But the controls need some work. Every arena feels like you are sliding around on ice. You'll never be able to come to a hard stop. This would be a fun challenge on an ice-based arena, but you'll slide around no matter what. Also, the aiming arrows become a cluster on screen when playing with 4 people/bots. You can't really tell which one is yours because there are 4 of them on screen at once, and two aiming in the same direction. Why aren't the aiming arrows color coordinated based on player?

Lastly, online is dead. You will click on "play online game" in the menu, wait for 60 seconds, and then you'll get paired up with an AI bot to play against. Online play needs some lobbies or be able to see a playerbase that is online. Also, there were at least a few occasions where I did this, and the game just locked up while it said "connecting", but i wasn't actually connecting to a player. After a minute, I heard the announcer say I won the match, but I was still in the connection screen. Weird, annoying bug that I couldn't back out of without restarting the whole game.

There's a great concept here and I want to recommend it, but it falls short, especially for full price. It might be fun as a couch party game for a night.

I haven't put too much time into this one, and I probably won't. The game is well-crafted and you can see the efforts that went into it, but but despite 3 sessions now I keep returning to the exact same emotions... "I'm really bored."

On the positive side, the game looks fantastic and the campaign mode offers an interesting plot for each of the fighters. The ideas behind the combat system are actually really good and I could see strong potential for PVP. Normal attacks, charged attacks, dodge rolls and blocks lead to the feeling that there is real room for skill growth.

Each character also has their own unique charged attacks that can modify their strategies such as Leaving a potential explosive trail behind or adding damage of time. These feel like they could have made characters feel like individuals.

But, it always comes but to "everything feels so darn slow".

You can fire about once every second or two which means you'll be dodging one attack at a time. You'll try to prepare a cool combo attack or play as someone who has to be fast, like a ninja, and you mash the button as you wait for the delay to end. There is no combos or putting pressure on your opponent... there's singular (Hopefully) accurate shots.

But it's more than a poorly chosen delay, all the mechanics actively reinforce this slow form of action. You have a stamina meter that is drained whenever you dodge or attack which requires ~8 seconds to fully recover. This means that the already slow action has periods of standing around waiting.

There was one mechanic where I found myself enjoying the experience. A perfect block tapping the action button just before an attack connects. It doesn't require stamina and requires quick reflexes and good timing. It's actually fun. . . for exactly 3 attacks per match.

I assume the developers were worried that it'd be an overpowered maneuver and with the slow speed of the fights it probably would be. It's just another reason I feel that this slow, plodding pace was an intentional design choice. Everything reinforces the fact that you are expected to hold your fire.

This review sucks to write because there is so much potential here. This has every element of an amazing smash brothers x dodgeball. But each time I sit down to give it another I'm reminded that its just not.

The perspective might work well for certain sports games (like basketball, soccer or football) but because you have to focus on your own positioning, your projectiles, your enemies projectiles and your enemy's position, you will go cross eyed very quick or die unjustly by running into an obstacle and not being able to course correct fast enough. A top to bottom perspective (like with a lot of tennis games) would've fared better.

the game seems cool in theory, but the movement mechanics suck (ice physics) and your shots feel laggy. you're honestly better off playing pudge wars as a custom wc3 map than this game. also, i think i beat the campaign? it just kind of ends.

would love to see more details in game about each character, maybe a practice mode, i dunno. feels very incomplete and uninspiring.

Strikers Edge is a multiplayer dodgeball game with some fighting game elements mixed in. There is a small cast of characters that all loosely play the same, but with different stats and abilities to add variety. The basic gameplay involves throwing or shooting at your opponent while dodging their attacks. Instead of 1 hit kills like normal dodgeball, you have a health bar, making it feel more like a fighting game than a true dodgeball game. The different stages are all pretty much the same in terms of gameplay, but they have unique visuals for each. It's a fun party game, but doesn't have much depth, so it can only really be played in short bursts. Probably worth a shot on sale, as long as you have friends to play it with.

Strikers Edge is a really fun game. It is a deadly dodgeball game. Instead of throwing balls, you throw spears, knifes, (shoot) arrows, etc. until the opponent is dead. You can simply throw your weapons, dodge or use your ultimate attack (each character has a unique ultimate attack).

The maps are simple but nicely designed. The art-style is retro but still good-looking and the character choice is solid (8 characters).

Each character has a short story (campaign).

The only negative aspect about this game is that there are no players. I tried to play a 1 vs 1 and a 2 vs 2 but in both rounds I got to play against/with bots. Simple solution: Play with and against friends.

Nevertheless, this is an amazing game that I will keep playing occasionally.

Simple dodgeball variant from a medieval fantasy realm... choose between 8 different heroes, play a short single player campaign with each of them - and then DUKE it OUT with your friends!

Kill your foe(s) with lethal medieval weaponry, like spears, arrows, axes or spells. You have 4 different arenas to play in, but they are just candy for the eye and play only marginally different.

1v1, 1v2, 2v2... CPU can take over missing players...

All in all the game is fun for an hour or two when you have some friends to play with (or fight some strangers you met on discord), but it does not come close to the best games of the genre.

Game supports local and online play, XBox 360 and XBox One controllers worked fine.

Fantastic game, it's a shame the developers have abandoned it. (Undetstandably so, you need a huge playerbase to keep a game running without any other projects.)

There are a lot of bugs in the game, most you read about in others reviews.
Get it on PS4 for some couch play, but stay away on PC and Online.

The keyboard layout displays itself helpfully at the bottom of the screen alongside the countdown for the hundredth game you've played. "Just in case you forget", it smiles (and I anthropomorphise). No one's to be lost on their umpteenth game here.

It's because, like many competitive games, Strikers Edge's core arcade gameplay is actually very simple; with the potential, of course, for self-taught improvement and eventually mastery. It's at once a jump-in game - "here are the controls before you, have a go" - and a game bordering on self-abuse whilst tackling the toughest AI opponents, or vying for tactical multiplayer domination.

In a real sense, if you've played one match, you've played them all. Strikers Edge's playful bleeding of medieval fantasy projectile throwing into dodgeball principles is a good one, but apart from some minor environmental hazard differences, modifiers, and character special abilities, the hundredth match you play will be the first. Depending then on your affection for the core gameplay loop repeating on a match-basis, and perhaps your willingness to venture into the potential of the eight characters, your mileage may vary. With a demo available, that first match is definitely worth a try!

Presentation is simple but pleasing in some impressive pixel art environments, detailed characters and good visual feedback. The music didn't seem diverse but was a suitably exciting accompaniment to tense matches. Sound without any character verbal exclamations is otherwise all good feedback for the various, hits blocks and dodges, etc.

To give that core gameplay its due, there is some satisfying design here. You and your opponent(s) (either 1v1 or 2v2) are placed on parallel sides of some form of arena, complete with destructible objects acting as cover and some kind of environmental hazard to be cognizant of. Whittle off the enemy's health fully in two rounds (so comebacks are possible) and you can call yourself a winner. Standard throws of your character's weapon or dodges eat into a stamina meter that restores with time. Thankfully charging an attack or blocking don't do so, but come with their own drawbacks. Charging an attack leaves you exposed, unable to block or dodge, but both deals more damage and has triggerable character-specific special abilities like triggering an area-effective electric shock in your sword you've lodged in their back wall. Whilst dodging comes with an anti-abuse, post-use delay and its meter, blocking has its own timing to nail and three uses that recharge on a separate meter. It also comes with its own character specific traits on a successful block, like reflecting the projectile back across the arena or health regeneration. In this way, it never feels like you're out of options and there's a definite flow to be achieved in recognising the action for any scenario. The ability to headshot for major, often match-defining damage calls for a particular accuracy that allows higher tiers of play and gives incentive to stun your opponent with abilities to achieve it.

A particularly nice design touch is the slow-mo zoom granted when one player is a hit from death and within a glancing blow of a projectile. It gives a repeat second wind to dodge, move or block that can swing the match if used well. Also great is the UI fully exposing your opponent's meters and even their aiming course and cursor to you. Since everything is known to both players, games are almost a tactical full-divide of attention. On one side you need full awareness of your diminishing abilities to throw, dodge and block, as well as your condition and position relative to where they're aiming. Concurrently, you need to take on the exact same mental load in information on your opponent's side to be effectively proactive and reactive. The real core of the game, then, is in your ability to juggle these responsibilities and mentally surmount the physical chasm of the arena and your screen. I think that in particular is brilliance.

So the core gameplay is well designed and fun, undoubtedly. Sheer value proposition content, however, is lacking, admittedly. Eight characters is a fine number given that they sufficiently diversify themselves offensively and defensively in their special abilities. The arena number being limited to just four, though, is a particular shame - especially given the great potential for more environmental meddling in the mix. Eventually, as with any competitive/multiplayer game, it just comes down to visual weariness more than anything else. The single player campaigns are a good idea and add text-based narrative justification for three or so consecutive matchings of opponents for each character. It ends up feeling mostly in name only given the small roster of environments, lack of audible dialogue and the sheer brevity of each. The difficulty setting is a very good touch, though. Particularly as the hardest setting AI is remarkably effective and feels virtually exploit-resistant. The hard setting is the biggest test you'll likely face in-game.

That's because the reality is this game is positioned as online-focused. Like with Left 4 Dead or any brawler (probably a better example!), a single player campaign is a poor stand-in for human face-offs and should be taken as good practice material and little more. It's a massive shame that an online opponent appears currently unattainable. Be it that the numbers are just too low or servers focus on matching you with someone local, I was unable to meet a human being. I came close it seems, but I was connecting for yonks and a day to the point that I just had to give up. In the likely event of a dearth of humanity, then, they automatically match you with an AI opponent that seems set to pushover difficulty. A good way to solve the issue of unattainable achievements, but the diametric opposite of a human challenge. It would be nice to toggle this off so you can at least give waiting a chance. Local play is, of course, available and largely the biggest draw. Complete with four player play and modifiers not found in the campaigns, if you have the people, it's ideal.

[b]This is a slight recommendation with some provisos, then. [/b] The core gameplay is one of incredibly good design, but with online unlikely to be sufficiently populated, this is effectively a local multiplayer or even singleplayer offering. Content, as with many fighting games, relies on your full exploration of the characters, their abilities and strategies, and can otherwise be quite thin on the ground. If you can surmount these points, there is a somewhat exciting competitive arcade experience here that is well worth throwing your hat in the arena for, if not mastering. I'm just not certain it's quite enough.

Getting a feel for the game takes a bit, and I did get frustrated when attacks from the NPC would get me when I feel like I'm standing behind cover, but as a whole Strikers Edge wasn't unpleasant to play.
I was worried I'd only get a few achievements because of the lack of playerbase; but you're limited to a que time of a minute before you're paired up with an NPC. So you don't sit in que lines for days and days wishing someone would load up the game.

The videos make the game look great, but they don't give you a sense of the laggy movement and attack controls. Everything you can do aside from the roll evade feels like walking in an ice level in old 8-bit games. I know that was said in an existing review... but I really couldn't think of a better way of wording it. If the controls were tightened up and the game was sped up just a tick, this could be a great game!

The game's visuals are fine, the concept is nice and I'm sure it would be a great multiplayer game. Too bad the game is dead from the start, the multiplayer is useless, nobody is playing. Plus the campaign is one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen in any videogame... The AI is ridiculously hard even at Normal and the story is just some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that was written in probably 10 minutes. It's not compelling at all. I would not recommend this game to anyone, it's a big waste of money, however if you get it for free, try it out. Maybe if the devs had a good marketing plan, there would be some players online, and that's how I see this game, an online game.

Está claro que es un juego enfocado al online y a competir. La idea y las mecánicas me parecen realmente buenas, no es muy complejo y a diferencia de otros juegos competitivos creo que es muy fácil pillarle el truco. Desgraciadamente le veo falto de contenido, tiene pocos escenarios además de poca variedad jugable, es decir, solo hay un único modo y en consecuencia todas las partidas se basan en lo mismo. Luego también tiene una campaña que no destaca absolutamente nada, que es más bien anecdótica.

Resumiendo: jugablemente me parece genial, original y bastante satisfactorio. Sin embargo, en mi opinión le faltan más elementos que harían de este juego una experiencia aún más entretenida y duradera. Está hecho para partidas cortas y con el tiempo es fácil aburrirse.

Necesito algo que me incentive a volver a jugar y disfrutar de este juego como ya lo hice la primera vez que lo probé.

Strikers Edge is a great game of killer dodge ball that supports between 1 and 4 players. The short campaigns are fun and bots can provide some solo enjoyment. The game shines when there are at least two people in an adrenaline fuelled duel to the death. Each campaign provides the back story of each character and their motivations for fighting. The pixel art is beautiful and backgrounds have easily recognizable, unique hazards. An interesting mechanic is that players can see each other’s aiming reticle leading to fake outs and mind games. The sound design is good and satisfying, especially explosions. The only detraction for this game is that it is multiplayer focused and it doesn’t have many people in its online community to play matches against.

[u]Gameplay:[/u]
The game consists of two or four participants on either sides of a river that divides the play area of both teams or individuals. These arenas aren’t static however. Each stage has a hazard or obstacle that effects the pace of the match. For example, one stage has two rocks which provide cover. These hazards aren’t always helpful. Another stage has a poison river which spits puddles which damage a player’s character and creates area denial. Since hitpoints are a sacred resource in this game, this is a hazard that is important to pay attention to.

Each character in this game has an equal amount of hitpoints and stamina. If the player’s character loses all of his or her hitpoints the player loses the round, and potentially the match. The other bar, which is blue, beneath the hitpoints is a character’s stamina. By attacking, the player uses up a bit of stamina. This is to combat potential attack spamming.

Attacks come in one of two flavors. The basic attack and the charged attack. A basic attack uses up a bit of stamina but allows the player to keep player movement momentum. Basic attacks simply take a bit of health off of an enemy and is released quite quickly. A full stamina bar allows a good flurry of attacks before it depletes. The other attack that a player can use is the charged attack. While it deals more damage and often applies status debuffs, the player’s character becomes very slow while charging. This gives the other player a chance to attack an easy target, so charge attacks are a tradeoff. Charged attacks can be activated after being thrown or landing using the special ability button. These extra abilities can be anything from creating a line of fire which damages and ignites enemies, to an explosion at a shield’s position. Beware of the tricks an opponent may play on you.

While playing both players can see each other’s aiming reticles to see where attacks are being aimed. This provides a layer of deceit and mind game to attacks. For example, the character Argalus’ special attack allows him to throw a shield which bounces off of walls and obstacles. The player using Argalus could make his or her opponent believe that Argalus will throw below the opponent. Mid charge however, Argalus rapidly aims upwards at the now dodging opponent and releases the charge attack early, creating a basic attack. There are ways to defend against attack.

The first way someone can defend is by using a block. Every character starts a round with three blocks which slowly recharge. Besides negating damage, blocks also provide buffs. These come in three types. A character, depending on who it is, may receive a heal, gain a defense boost so they take less damage, or gains an attack speed buff. Blocks can be used defend against charged attacks. It is a tough decision on when to best block. Instead of a block, the player may also use a roll. A roll allows the player’s character to quickly change direction so they don’t suffer a direction change momentum penalty. Rolls use stamina however, which is the same resource one uses to attack. This creates an offensive and defensive balance that the player must maintain to be effective. Lastly, attacks can block an opponent’s attacks. A basic attack blocks a basic attack and a charged attack blocks another charged attack. A charged attack will destroy any normal attacks in its path.

The movement in the game may feel like one is sliding on ice due to having trouble changing direction. This is based off of a momentum mechanic which balances the mind game aspect of the game. The player must commit to a movement, attack, or action. This creates a strategy layer where players must plan their moves in advance and modify these plans on the fly. While some players may not like this slippery movement mechanic, I felt that it only added to the competitive metagame that this game has.

As for single player content, there are bots of many skill levels to play against. If a player wants some lore with their bot matches, a short campaign is provided for every hero. These campaigns can be difficult, especially when they introduce new challenges to an already simple-yet-complex set of mechanics. Unfortunately, the multiplayer community for this game is sparse and could use some new players. Streamers also have a set of features that help entertain the crowd through powerful Twitch integration. The chat can introduce modifiers to spice up gameplay, throw power-ups to certain opponents, and can cheer and boo to be annoying, a staple of the twitch chat we all both love and hate.

Overall, this is a great competitive couch coop game that anyone who is a thrill seeker can enjoy. The mechanics are simultaneously easy to learn while complex to master. Arenas have varying hazards which create the need for new player strategies. The only sad part is that the game is a bit obscure so its multiplayer community is small at the moment.

[u]Story:[/u]
The story of each mini-campaign is great and provides motivation as to why each fighter decides to go on their homicidal journey. While they are short in length, they allow the player to further connect with a favorite character. I appreciate that the developers put work on lore for a mainly multiplayer focused game.

[u]Sound:[/u]
Each attack is quite satisfying and recognizable. Explosions sound like they will do quite a bit of damage, which they will, while thrown weapons provide a nice “thunk” when getting impaled in back wall of the arena. Characters sound appropriately burdened by a sudden roll, though rolling is frequent enough that the rolling sound clip can get a bit annoying.

[u]Graphics:[/u]
The graphical style is pixel art. The developers for Strikers Edge really know how to cram as much detail into a piece of pixel art as possible. Backgrounds are incredibly beautiful and animations are extremely fluid. While death animations aren’t very violent, the addition of a slow-mo effect makes it look all the more brutal.

캠페인은 있으나 마나 한 수준이니 싱글이라도 깨야지 히힣 하면서 사진 말자.

Amazing concept. Could have been done in a great way, but the movement feels like ice levels in a platformer. You cannot change directions quickly without a bit of a slide, and the mouse movement (I assume joystick as well) feels very off. With a tweak to the movement, I might consider a purchase. For now, however, it's staying refunded.

Striker Edege is a simple target game between 2vs or 4v4. Strikers Edege is simple and easy to play. I dig pixel gaphics. I know i know.
Servers are kinda ♥♥♥♥ and laggy, matchmaking does not really find you any opponents yet but HONEST TO GOD.
had so much fun in this game up until now. When it works it WORKS. Feels so good to predict your opponents movement or block and incoming attack and best them in a BO3.
Got to shortly play this game at gamescom and was hooked from the start.
Super fun to play against your friends however aside from A.I (who i found really hard to beat on the highest diffifulty)
also really your only option if you want to just play some quick matches.
I would definetly recommend this game if you have a friend to try it with, or the Queue times get fixed
(but looking at it this way, they will only get smaller if more people buy/play the game).
If you are iffy about the prize maybe wait for a sale but it surely is fun.

I've played the game since the beta, had been following it much much longer before.
I've had the chance to meet with one of the devs before, and he's actually a great guy, and you can actually notice when you follow this game's history, this whole thing was quite the labor of love from this Portuguese team.
It's a great game, even if right now it's lacking with online play due to being a recent game (I think), but trust me when I say the campaign def makes up for it.
It's fast paced action will be keeping you on your toes and wanting more.

Can be played couch (Local) play, online play, and even single player as I've mentioned. With a total of 8 characters at launch, and also constant updates to improve the game, I can definitely see this game going places.

If you have the 15€/15$ to spare, definitely give this a shot. Play it with friends online, or locally, give the single player a try. You won't regret it one bit.

攻撃、回避、ブロック、スペシャルの4ボタン構成。

ちゃんと駆け引きあんのかな？と不安に思っていたものの、
回避が無敵でなくブロック回数にも制限があるため、
思っていたよりも駆け引きがあります。

TowerFall Ascension が一撃死なのに対して、こちらはライフ制の2本先取なので事故死がないのはGood。

キャンペーン、オンライン対戦、ローカル対戦モードがありますが、
CPU対戦モードが無いのが少し残念。

一緒に遊んでくれる相手がいるなら良いゲームだと思います。

So, first of all, the game suffers from SOME lag (and a low playerbase).

That set aside, though, the game is a blast to play with friends! You just never stop screaming at how close those spears can get to you. And when they get close enough and you're about to die, you dodge at the last moment and the slow-motion makes it look amazing.

All in all, the game has the scope you'd expect from a small team. But it's a small team that's motivated to make this the best game they can, and they ARE listening to feedback.

Pick it up. If you're looking for a different game, this is it.

Impossible de changer les touches au clavier? Mettre du ZQSD plutot que du ASWD...

EDIT: C'est bon trouver il aut aller dans "Input" et descendre normale apres la config manette il ya le clavier :D

EDIT 2:... Bon bah enfaite même apres avoir changer les touches le jeu reste bloqué sur ASWD... Si quelqu'un a reussi je veux bien qu'il m'explique :D

一款十分有趣的游戏，我也不讲哪儿好了，先讲讲可以改进的地方。
1 玩法单调，道具是不可少的，当然最好加入可以设置是否刷道具，满足不同玩家
2 人物太少，技能有时候显得鸡肋，可以增加一个人物多种技能，当然最好加入玩家可以自行设置是否禁用哪个人物的哪个技能
3 在一场胜利后继续下一场时只有一句自白，没有任何变化，减少了玩家的激情和游戏体验
4 可以增加更多特效和bgm，例如瓦尔基里的蓄力矛发射有音爆，不同武器不同音效，不同场景不同bgm，胜利音乐，战斗切入不同音乐
5 更多的地图和地图多样性，还有人物技能和地图或地图特性的联动，增加竞技性
6 战役时不能自己选关，过场画面略微单调
7 剧情单薄，可以增加一场胜利人物之间的对话而不再是玩家自机的自白
8 联机可以自己创造房间也可以选择直连，玩家创造房间可以设定玩法道具技能和地图特性
9 刚上手时操作略奇怪，键鼠人物移动有点飘，瞄准射击需要一段时间适应，适应之后滑步预判射其实也是很爽的，手柄操作难度更大但震动好评
10 突显出武器的不同，最好有射速坚固速度弹道的不同和武器对撞对武器的影响，增加武器特性
11 esc界面看不到鼠标导致切出去回来容易无法选择继续或退出
12 慢动作判定机制很迷，初步认为是丝血将要遭受到攻击时判定，有冷却时间，但我有一次没动，绝对不中的矛却触发了，这也会略微减少游戏乐趣
13 增加类似被动的人物特性
如果能有大佬帮忙翻译给制作组也是极好的

Ce petit jeu intriguant m'attirait irrésistiblement : le gameplay semblait à la fois simple et pêchu, les graphs jolis et colorés, l'ambiance très arcade, et il disposait apparemment d'une campagne solo. J'avais donc pas mal d'attentes pour ce Stikers Edge, mais toutes ont été déçues:

[*]Déjà, le gameplay.
- Les déplacements des personnages sont extrêmement flottants : on a l'impression d'une longue latence, un peu comme dans les niveaux de "glaces" de certains jeux de plate-forme où le sprite continue de glisser dans une direction (un peu comme sur une patinoire), alors qu'on lui demande d'aller à l'opposé. Hyper désagréable dans un jeu que j'espérais précis, et qui devient de par ce fait complètement approximatif.
- La visée est également beaucoup moins fine et rapide que dans les derniers twin sticks shooters auxquels j'ai pu jouer, et il en résulte une impression de mollesse assez étrange et déconcertante.
[i]Du fait que le jeu soit cross-platform, un timing de visée propre à la manette est imposé aux joueurs PC au clavier : la visée aurait pu être nettement plus rapide et pointue à la souris si seulement on avait laissé les PCistes et les Consoleux chacun chez soi, au lieu de les réunir pour tirer le potentiel de la verion PC vers le bas... (Comme à chaque fois qu'on calibre l'expérience de tous en fonction des limitations de certains). Tout ça pour tenter de remplir des serveurs qui seront vides dans 6 mois précisément à cause de ce gameplay de péteux : Bien joué.[/i]

[*]La direction artistique est certes agréable, mais sérieux, 4 arènes seulement? Avec juste des variantes de teintes? C'est juste du foutage de gueule!
De plus, on sent que la campagne n'est pas finie : quelques persos ont un boss avec une skin dédiée, et d'autres non...

[*]Le jeu prétend donc contenir une campagne solo : celle-ci comporte seulement un exemplaire de ces 4 pauvres arènes et se termine donc en environ 15 minutes malgré les petits interludes scénaristiques. (Qui se résument à quelques textes étoffant le background des personnages). Or même si je ne doute pas que ça puisse paraître étrange à certains, c'est pour y jouer en solo que ce jeu m'intéressait, n'étant pas du tout fan de jeux multi, à plus forte raison lorsqu'ils sont principalement compétitifs, et qu'on doit en prime y subir l'habituelle toxicité de la "pitoresque" population cross-platform.
[i](Je ne m'étendrai pas sur les succès qui ne se débloquent pas, et qui - pour la majorité - ne récompensent que les parties en ligne : là encore, mépris total des joueurs solo...)[/i]

[*]Au bout de quelques heures, on remarque également le déséquilibre entre les aptitudes des personnages, qui mène à des écarts de difficulté en Campagne. (Les persos étant spécialisés en attaque, défense ou "soin").
Par exemple, le pouvoir offensif de Haru est totalement pété : si son attaque chargée touche, on peut tenter un "spécial" quasiment à tête chercheuse sur d'adversaire "marqué". Si ce spécial passe plein pot, c'est 1/4 de la vie adverse qui vole + une téléportation gratuite qui permet d'esquiver les projos adverses... (et à côté de ça, le spécial d'Urgül va juste ralentir momentanément sa cible).
Du coup, en mode histoire / normal, on ne perd même pas un combat en jouant Haru, et on défonce Galad, bien que ce soit pourtant son "boss"...
Inversement, la lenteur de Galad la rendant très inférieure à Haru, c'est la crise de nerf assurée de la jouer en carrière dans le MÊME mode de difficulté : certains trouvent donc le jeu "trop dur" ou au contraire "très abordable" - mais je crois que c'est en fonction du perso choisi.

[*]Agaçant aussi de ne trouver nulle part une description précise des caracs & capacités propres à chaque perso : c'est "démerdez-vous"![/list]

Le 1er trailer du jeu annoncent en 1ere phrase [i]"Pensez Tower Fall".[/i]
Donc puisqu'ils tiennent à être comparés, allons y : Les deux jeux sont tous les deux vendus 15 balles sur steam. Or comparativement au jeu d’archerie avec lequel il entend rivaliser, Strikers Edge est d'une radinerie incroyable!
Tower fall propose un VRAI mode campagne, avec des mobs, des bonus, des vrais "Boss", des "évents" qui viennent corser certains tableaux, des items à débloquer qui peuvent ensuite être intégrés ou non au système de jeu afin d'aménager les règles de différentes façons...
Bien que presque plus simple, le gameplay de Tower Fall est en fait beaucoup plus riche, du fait qu'on ne fait pas que tirer des flèches en dodgeant celles du voisin [i](warpzones, possibilité de tuer les ennemis en tombant dessus, nécessité de récupérer les munitions...)[/i]
Mais surtout, les contrôles de Tower Fall sont impeccablement calibrés, et beaucoup plus PRÉCIS!
Le seul truc qui manque à Tower Fall et qu'on trouve dans Strikers Edge, c'est éventuellement du multi en ligne pour ceux que ça branche (mais dont je n'ai personnellement rien à foutre comme je l'ai déjà dit).
[i]Sachant que les devs de Tower Fall expliquaient l'absence de online en précisant que pour un jeu de réflexes aussi pointu, la simple latence d'un ping trop élevé suffirait à tout foutre en l'air - et je veux bien le croire...[/i]

Le pire dans ce triste gâchis, c'est que Stikers Edge est loin d'être complètement nul : le concept est vraiment sympa, les mécaniques d'endurance & deflect sont cools, les musiques nickel, les bruitages pêchus, l'interface est propre, il y a même une trad française très honorable...
C'est juste qu'il ne vaut absolument pas son prix, de par son gameplay trop approximatif, et son contenu solo incroyablement famélique et répétitif (apparemment il y a juste un mode 2 vs 2 comme alternative aux règles de base)!
Je ne me prononcerai pas sur l'état du multi (ne jouant qu'en solo), mais j'imagine qu'il souffre probablement des mêmes problèmes de redondance qui plombent déjà gravement la prétendue "campagne"...

Lorsque le jeu se sera un peu étoffé, et qu'il sera proposé à un prix honnête de 5 à 10€, peut-être que ça vaudra le coup d'y faire un tour.
Mais d'ici là, je n'en conseille absolument pas l'achat aux tarifs actuels comme vous l'aurez compris.

[i][b]Depuis les dernières MàL, et si vous le prenez bien soldé à moins 9,5€ sur un site de clé, Strikers Edge devient déjà plus recommandable :
-En mode "Local Play" des bots sont désormais activables, permettant de jouer en solo 1vs1 ET 2vs2 (voire 1vs2 et 2vs1). De plus, ce mode permet désormais des ajustements de règles à la façon de Tower Fall, afin de varier un peu l'expérience. Là encore, excellente initiative!
-Autre effort : une démo gratuite est désormais proposée. (Certes très limitée - mais le geste est sympa). Et justement, je recommande fortement de le TESTER avant l'achat, étant donné l'étrange latence des contrôles que j'ai mentionnée qui risque de gonfler certains.

Certes, le jeu ne vaut toujours pas 15€, et son mode carrière (inchangé et toujours cet air d' "inachevé") reste une insulte à ceux qui voudraient acheter le jeu pour ça, raison pour laquelle l'éval reste négative.
Mais du fait que la facette solo se soit étoffée via le local vs Bots, avec aménagement de gameplay, intégration d'une démo gratuite, (et surtout l'apparition de promos correctes), le jeu mérite à présent une évaluation "neutre" (qui manque cruellement à Steam).
Ce n'est pas du tout un mauvais jeu - mais en l'état, ce qu'il propose reste vraiment trop maigre, et bien mal équilibré...

Le multi étant apparemment (et prévisiblement) déjà déserté si on en croit le Hub communautaire, il me semble qu'un dernier effort pourrait justement être entrepris sur la campagne du jeu afin de justifier un peu son tarif de base : rajouter au moins 4 nouvelles arènes (histoire que chaque perso ait la sienne), et intégrer un descriptif précis des caracs et apritudes des persos jouables. (+ proposer en campagne les même règles adaptatives que pour le mode Local).[/b][/i]
