Ahhhh....
I really, really don't like giving negative reviews (I think this is my second only thumbs down) but this game had a LOT of problems.
So, for starters, if you open and try playing the game off the bat, it will be 100% impossible to beat. Why? Because if your refresh rate / max framerate is anything but 30 (when most people have 60 or 120 hertz screens) the physics of the game will be BROKEN. The missiles will fire at x2 or x4 speed, the reverse time mechanic will just overlay sound and break, and running will just not work at all. I had to use external programs (thank you nvidia control panel) to even fix this, and I only knew it might be broken due to other niche platformers suffering the same issue.
But even once you fix these issues stuff like running is still broken, and more times than not will just result in moving SLOWER. You also cannot press jump right when you start running, or you'll just stand still. (You can, however, do a glitchy jump if you jump right as you flip gravity)
I also felt the sawblade hitboxes were HUGE compared to their sprites, but that might just be because I'm used to precision games where the hitboxes match / give leniency. I assume these circular blades are likely squares.
Now, on to the positives...
The puzzles are good (except that one where you have to drop the box on to the missile, I NEVER got that one to work and had to use the in-game cheat code to skip that level), the mechanics of flipping gravity and rewinding time to outfox gates and missiles was really creative. It just is bogged down by the nigh unplayability of the rest.
There is a good game here, it just needs a lot of polishing.

Хоть и видно что разраб пытался сделать игру "интересней" и в кое то веки с уникальными фишками, но, как по мне, у него не вышло из-за пустого визуала, который сделан лишь для того что-бы было что-то видно.
Если у разраба было бы выделено чуть больше стараний то, игра выглядела бы получше и геймплейно интересней. Но тут ничего не поделаешь, имеем то что имеем.

This game has been a purgatory of unenjoyable ragebait. The mechanics would be enjoyable and even fun if the other parts of the game weren't sub-par. Switching up gravity and time manipulation are cool ideas for a platformer. The puzzles are very simple, possible too simple, and rely on being extremely difficult in the worst ways. Platforming is clunky and unreliable. Sprites are poorly made, resulting in unnecessary deaths where there shouldn't be. You can literally die from the saw blades without even touching them because they seem to have square collision detection on circular objects. Which is a horrible idea considering much of the game involves jumping over and around these blades. It felt less like I was having to learn how to master the controls and more like learning how to compensate for the game's poor implementation of its mechanics. Even using the in-game cheats I have yet to be able to beat it. If you like to be angry while you game then this is the right choice for you. Otherwise, I can't help but feel like there are plenty of games similar to this one that have to be made with much better quality, even if they might cost a little bit more.

This game gave me mixed feelings; one major issue is the difficulty scaling, that goes from simple flip mechanics to suddenly having a bunch of obstacles tossed at you on the later levels at a big jump. The graphics are smooth and sharp, but often the hitboxes are not forgiving. A small millimetre from a spike or missile and you're dead immediately. The speed of your character I also find moves too fast. There's no walking, just constantly running to any direction, which makes it all the more harder to stop or grasp the walls and floors. It feels like I'm playing at max-speed modifier Fox or Falcon from Super Smash Bros. if anyone remembers that Nintendo game!
Redactem, despite having tutorial levels and instructions on how to play, is still a challenging game that is not beginner-friendly. The achievements are the only reason I kept pushing. Otherwise, I'd have given up. I don't recommend this game, even though I recieved it for free.

Is it a smooth and super polished game? No

Does it have some issues? Yup to that as well.
The big issue that this game suffers from is that game physics are tied to frame rate. As a result some jumps or puzzles become much harder or even impossible if you play the game on too high or too low of a frame rate. The menus could also use some changes to make navigating them a little easier.

Redactem is a simple platformer that gives you the ability to reverse time and also switch gravity!
There are 3 worlds, with 8 levels each. The levels aren't that hard except for a few which may take you a few tries. I urge you to play through all the levels normally as there is a cheat code that just completes 23 of the 24 levels, taking away any satisfaction you may get when you beat a level you've died a couple times to. It only took me 30 minutes to do so it shouldn't be too bad for you all!
For its super cheap price and fun, simple gameplay, I definitely recommend it!

Я НЕ ЗНАЮ ЧТО КУРИЛ РАЗРАБ ЭТОГО ШЕДЕВРА, но можно было хотя бы нормальное управление преподнести? все уровни более менее одинаковые, скучно становится почти сразу. в общем, игра точно не стоит вашего внимания, так как она просто сырая и недоделанная.

Definitely did not age well. The controls feel awkward, the hitboxes for everything feel way too big, so many gameplay bugs as well as the fact that having your game be anything over 60 fps makes it impossible due to missiles being impossibly fast. The art is super cool and the level design is actually quite creative, but boy does it feel awkward and clunky to play.

Games that are challenging because the controls are very hard to make your character go where you want them to are not fun. Redactem is unfortunately one of those games. The character is very slippery and is very hard to accurately control within the game world. Many times, you will accidentally run into traps because your character is constantly slipping on ice cubes and bananas. A little bit of slipperiness and momentum are good, but this game takes it to the extreme, an extreme which is very unsatisfying to play with when a lot of the jumps in later levels of this game are so precise.
As for the starting levels, you are explicitly told the controls for how to move, jump, wall jump, sprint, reverse gravity, and reverse time. It is up to the player to use these controls to complete various puzzles within the world. For the most part, the puzzles are actually pretty decent, minus the missile ones. I'm looking at you, world 2, level 6. For this level, you have to reverse gravity to land an item on a missile and thread a needle to get this item to fall onto a switch. Does that sound incredibly precise? It's because it is. It makes it all the worse due to the game having physics entirely dependent on frame rate, which makes certain levels COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE unless the user goes into their NVIDIA Control Panel (or whatever the AMD equivalent is) and caps the game's frame rate. I found that the game is completable on 60 FPS, so if anyone is reading this, this is how you beat the levels and get those achievements. I have seen videos of others with missiles moving faster, so it might be achievable with a higher frame rate as well, but a frame rate in the hundreds will render this game infeasible. This game really should've came with some kind of frame control set at 60 by default or found in the settings somewhere. One more level I have a gripe about is 3-3. In this level, you have to travel within a sort of S-path between a myriad of sawblades and small platforms sandwiching an opening within the walls of saw blades. On paper, this sounds challenging but not too bad. The problem I have is that the solution to this level is to reverse gravity and then to perform an upside-down wall jump. No where else in the game is there any telegraphing or tutorializing on upside-down wall jumps allowing you to travel further than regular wall jumps. I threw my head at a wall for quite a bit of time until I watched a few videos of this game, with only one of them showing the proper solution. One video had someone stuck on this level for around 30 minutes, never figuring this movement tech out. Placing a little bit of text at the beginning of this level (similar to the beginning of the tutorial world) or if the player dies a lot of times in this level would've helped to alleviate this issue.
Overall, the game seems like some beginner or even intermediary game developer project. It's quite evident that the developer is also quite a decent programmer since all the mechanics work pretty well, but the game design as a whole is quite lacking. It's a decent starting or midway project, but as a final product, it falls short. There could've been so much charm within the world of Redactem and some hidden story behind game design and the character's powers. If the game was kept simple without this, it should've had its movement more properly developed. If both of those were present, this would be a much more positive review, but as the game stands, this is much more frustrating than rewarding to play.

Redactem — крайне бюджетный паззл-платформер, с ценником в 42 рубля или 99 центов в американском регионе. Как правило, игры данной ценовой категории в Steam, представляют собой либо ленивые ассет-флипперы, либо же и вовсе нерабочие куски криво написанного кода. Но, стоит отдать должное разработчику, Redactem — это полноценная, функционирующая игра, хоть кривоватая и очень короткая, но обо всем по порядку.
Геймплей в Redactem достаточно примитивен. Вас выбрасывают на небольшой уровень, из которого вам надо выбраться при помощи прыжков, переключения гравитации и своеобразной перемотки времени. На пути у вас встречаются пилы, лазеры, ямы, переключатели и расположенные в труднодоступных местах ключ-карты. Всего в игре 24 очень коротких уровня. Первые 8 уровней являются обучающими, они крайне примитивны и проходятся за считанные секунды. Следующие 8 тоже простенькие и служат для закрепления знаний. Но среди последней восьмерки встречается парочка совсем уж жопоразрывательных (в плохом смысле). И на этом все. Вопреки описанию в Стиме, никаких новых уровней для игры выпущено не было и уже явно не будет. При этом, даже учитывая мои посредственные навыки и почти полное отсутствие опыта в жанре, первое прохождение игры с получением всех достижений заняло у меня менее двух часов. На Ютубе и вовсе можно найти прохождение за 6 или 7 минут. Разумеется, с первой попытки пройти игру за это время нереально, но примерное представление о количестве контента вы составить можете.
Большинство уровней представляют собой простенькую головоломку, требующую определенного алгоритма для ее завершения. Простора для демонстрации своего высокого IQ вы тут не обнаружите, но все же изредка включать мозг придется и это приятно. Отдельно стоит отметить тот факт, что некоторые из уровней можно пройти как при помощи банального платформинга, так и манипуляцими со временем и гравитацией. При этом ваш выбор может как сделать прохождение уровня проще, так заметно сложнее (т.е. игра поощряет внимательность и креативное мышление, жаль встречается подобное лишь пару раз за игру). Есть и уровни, где упор сделан на платформинг, и они бывают как удачные, так и дико раздражающие. К последним относятся уровни 3-4 и 3-8. И если в 3-8 хотя бы примерно понятно, что надо делать, там скорее раздражает необходимость перепроходить один и тот же паззл перед каждой новой попыткой, то как правильно проходить 3-4 для меня так и осталось загадкой. В итоге, после 10 минут безуспешного ковыряния этого уровня без каких бы то ни было подвижек, я открыл прохождение на YouTube и выяснил, что там надо спрыгнуть на невидимый пиксель прямо перед пилой, повиснув в воздухе, и уже оттуда перепрыгивать дальше, что тоже удалось далеко не сразу. И если при первом прохождении я каким-то чудом осилил этот уровень за 15 минут и несколько сотен попыток, то на втором, при записи футажей, я сдался и пропустил его.
Как вы уже могли понять, сложность тут очень неровная, она не всегда идет по нарастающей (после самого сложного уровня может идти один из самых легких) и достигается не за счет требований к скиллам и интеллекту, а за счет недостаточно точного и отзывчивого управления вкупе с порой откровенно кривым левел-дизайном. И, да, игра местами требует чрезвычайной точности, но не дает ее достигнуть. Тут очень сложно рассчитывать длину и высоту прыжка, не всегда понятны границы хитбоксов (например пилы убивают тебя на расстоянии, еще до того, как ты их коснешься), превращая игровой процесс в рулетку. На сложных уровнях приходится умирать десятки раз, пока не сойдутся звезды на небе, и тебе не повезет пропрыгать так, как надо. Раскладка что на клавиатуре, что на геймпаде ужасная и сменить ее нельзя. Стрелочки влево-вправо отвечают за передвижение, а стрелки вверх-вниз за переключение гравитации, что приводит к постоянным случайным нажатиям не той кнопки и, зачастую, к смерти или потере ключ-карты уже после прохождения сложного участка, вынуждая вас перезапускать уровень.
Перемотка времени в Redactem работает странно, отматывается только положение персонажа, при этом препятствия не учитываются и он спокойно проходит сквозь стены и лезвия, что поначалу ломает мозг (ты машинально думаешь, что перемотка не сработает, и пытаешься пройти уровень без нее). После смерти включить перемотку нельзя, а потому все равно приходится начинать уровень сначала, но оно и понятно – иначе игра проходилась бы в два раза быстрее. Перемотки вперед нет, что на одном из уровней сильно раздражает, т.к. там каждый раз приходится очень долго ждать движущуюся платформу.
Визуал игры минималистичный, напоминает ранние платформеры для компьютеров и 8 битных приставок. Саундтрек также отсылает к стародавним временам, но уже в хорошем смысле: он незамысловатый, но достаточно приятный и въедливый, звучит как классические аркады и компьютерные игры 80х годов.
Как итог, Redactem — это рабочая, в меру затягивающая, но местами очень кривенькая и крайне небольшая игра. Ее сложно рекомендовать кому-то к покупке просто потому, что на рынке существует уйма более интересных и вылизанных проектов. С другой стороны, если вам нужно чем-то себя занять на часок, из игровых платформ у вас под рукой только слабенький ПК, а финансы поджимают — пробежать игру можно. Тем более, что на распродажах ее продают примерно за ту же сумму, что стоят выпадающие из нее карточки. Моя оценка данному проекту — 5 баллов из 10.

взял за 10 рублей с помощью купона, окупился на карточках, поиграл в одну из самых сложных игр в моей жизни, Это про Наихеренный платформер, он очень сложный, примерно как митбой, но самое сложное тут - твой прогресс не сохраняется, тоесть если ты допкстим прошел до 4 лвл, а затем вышел из игры, зашел и тебе надо всё пять с первого уровня проходить! Ладно то что это почти сложно как митбой, но это куда! Разраб ты что курил когда это делал?

Meh. Gra może bardzo tania i krótka, ale średnia. Najśmieszniejsze jest to, że jeśli masz monitor 144Hz, to powodzenia z przechodzeniem poziomów z rakietami samonaprowadzającymi, bo lecą one ponad 2 razy szybciej, przez co nie da się praktycznie ukończyć poziomów, na których się one znajdują i trzeba zmniejszyć odświeżanie monitora na np. 60Hz xD

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happineass of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
