Breve pero bonito sim walk con temática de la sgm en la que tocará descubrir los secretos que esconde un bunker dejado por los alemanes presuntamente después de la destrucción de Europa durante los años 60. Tiene unos entornos que los describo como trágicamente bellos porque al avanzar en la historia y leer los documentos siempre tan necesarios en ésta clase de juegos iremos descubriendo la trágica historia del lugar en donde se desarrollan los hechos, como dije es bastante breve pero interesante de jugarlo al menos una vez y lo digo así porque tiene múltiples finales así que en cierta medida le da un poco de re-jugabilidad. Más allá de algún bug muy puntual no presenta mayores problemas, no soy de jugar muchos sim walks pero de vez en cuándo está bien jugar algo así y éste juego está god, lo recomiendo.

Unfortunately "stuck in the ground" each time you exit game and after that is reloaded on last checkpoint on each new game opening to continue it. To pass level where you at in this move you must redo all implied level. Also "running" mode is no running at al, just same walk. Until major checkpoint bug is not fixed I'll not recomment at all. Otherwise game have a lot of potential in future if DevOps team fixe those bugs. An optional Save/Load feature on each point would be nice too.

I'm sorry, i really didn't want to put this as negative. but when it's so buggy that loading a checkpoint makes the character stuck and sometimes gets stuck on geometry, too, leaving the only way to get unstuck is restarting the chapter, which can undo almost an hour of walking if it happens near the end of the chapter, it's just frustrating, but if it ever gets fixed i will change this review because the story is somewhat interesting, it's just impossible to enjoy it fully with all these bugs

Visually an attractive game, which helps to distract from the lack of things that you can interact with in the environment. Makes the game pace feel slow.

There is a run feature, however I feel like it only zooms in the camera view slightly in order to give the illusion of speed.

Story is ok, but confusing (to me at least). I got a better idea of what the led up to the beginning of the story from the trailer than the game itself.

Unskippable cut scenes.

A bug where your character gets frozen any time to you load into a check point after picking up the game where you last left off. There is at least a work around that you can toggle the head bob off and back on again and that will restore your movement capability.

Option to invert mouse. Matter of preference for me.

Auto-save/checkpoint system. Look at the achievement guides on the forum in order to get all in one playthrough. I didn't and am missing only one at the end of the game, but can't bring myself to go all the way through to get the last one.

Good as a slow paced, casual game/walking simulator. Story doesn't change aside from slight variation on the ending, so replayability is low. Best bought on sale or part of a bundle.

[b]Paradise Lost[/b] ist ein storybasiertes und atmosphärisch extrem packendes [b]Firstperson-Abenteuer[/b] von [b]PolyAmorous[/b] aus 2021.

Das Abenteuer spielt nach einem [b]alternativen Ende[/b] des zweiten Weltkriegs. Wir spielen in der Firstperson-Perspektive den 12jährigen [b]Szymon[/b], der sich seinen Weg durch das postatomare Krakau (Polen) sucht. Zu weiteren Story- oder Spieldetails möchte ich nichts spoilern!
Das Grundgerüst der Geschichte ist vorgegeben. Wir kämpfen uns weitesgehend allein durch die optisch und atmosphärisch extrem fesselnde Gegend, aber wir bekommen immer wieder Hilfe und/oder Anweisungen durch eine erwachsene Frau, die ihre eigene Leidensgeschichte hat, unsere Hilfe möchte.

Die [b]Grafik[/b] und das [b]Sounddesign[/b] des nun über 5 Jahre alten Spiels finde ich auch für heutige Verhältnisse gut und passend gestaltet. Vor allem das [b]Setting[/b] fand ich sehr fesselnd, auch gut auf die Story abgepasst.
Ein normaler Durchlauf des Spiels wird irgendwo zwischen 3,5 bis maximal 5 Stunden dauern. Leute, die das Spiel mit allen [b]12 Achievements[/b] vervollständigen wollen, sollten (auch bei Zuhilfenahme von Guides) 5 bis maximal 7 Stunden einplanen.

Man sollte sich bewusst sein, dass es durch weite Teile des Spiels die [u]unzensierte Ansicht[/u] von Symbolen wie Hakenkreuze, Reichsadler und dergleichen gibt. Wer in diesem Punkt empfindlich ist, sollte sich vielleicht mal kurze Einblicke in [b]Let's-Plays[/b] im Web suchen, um sich einen Überblick zu verschaffen.

Ich sah in den Reviews der letzten Monate ein starkes Absinken und verstärkt die Warnung vor nervigen bis hin zu [u]unspielbar machenden[/u] Bugs. Ich selbst habe das Spiel im Juli 2024 unter Windows 10 in 6,5 Stunden abgeschlossen, kann mich selbst an keinerlei technische Probleme erinnern!
Vielleicht sollten Leute sich vor dem Kauf ggf. über Spielerfahrungen anderer Spieler mit ähnlichem Computer-Setup informieren...

Ich empfehle dieses atmosphärische und optisch wirklich gute [b]Abenteuer[/b] allen Fans von mit leichten Rätseln und Knobeleien versehenen Walking-Abenteuern.
Ich finde den [b]regulären Vollpreis[/b] des Spiels [u]fair und angemessen[/u]! Wer Zweifel hat, sollte sich das Spiel auf seine [b]Wunschliste[/b] setzen und vielleicht im [b]Steam-Sale[/b] zuschlagen.

J'ai joué une demi-heure et quand j'ai voulu continuer ma partie, mon personnage était bloqué. L'animation de marche est là, mais le personnage ne bouge pas. Charger le dernier point de contrôle ne change rien, seul "recommencer le niveau" semble fonctionner, mais cela veut dire recommencer le jeu depuis le début. En regardant les avis, je vois que c'est un bug connu qui n'a jamais été fix. Hors de question de jouer à ce jeu si c'est pour devoir recommencer un niveau entier à chaque fois que je le lance.

The reason why the game gets a No from me, is because it uses way too much Nazi symbolics. To me, it was painful to watch it everywhere and read it on all notes. Otherwise the game is quite fine walking simmulator, a bit clunky as mechanics, but otherwise very beautiful and the story is ok. Nothing too surprising, but I liked figuring it out slowly. But I do think we could have seen less symbols and crosses etc and that really decerased my enjoyment.
Btw I think if you populate the game with zombies and give it normal movement, it's gonna be a great game.

Gerne hätte ich die Geschichte des Spiels kennengelernt, egal ob gut oder schlecht. Ich mag es zwischendurch auch Laufsimulatoren zu spielen. Aber da ich ständig im Boden stecken bleibe und jedes mal wieder den automatischen Spielstand laden muss, der mich einiges wiederholen lässt, ist mir die Lust am Spiel vergangen. Beim letzten Spielstand waren es fünf Wiederholungen!!!
Mit diesem Problem scheinen ich da nicht allein zu sein.

The game is fantastic! Loved every minute of it. I just have one complaint. A glitch in saving. When you come back to a saved game, your player is frozen in place and you have to start the game at the last level again to keep going. Didn't matter where I stopped the game. Excellent story, excellent graphics and detail. Music score very emotional. Fix the glitch, the rest is great!

Gra ma bardzo ciekawą i fajną grafikę jak i fabułę. Historia wciąga. Jedynie co można zarzucić grze to to że pomimo premiery w 2021 roku nie zostały naprawione błędy, tak jakby gra została porzucona. Jeden uciążliwy to taki ze po każdym wczytaniu gry, nie da się w nią grać, postać jest unieruchomiona w miejscu i nie może się ruszać, opcją jest albo powtórzenie rozdziału...Albo by całkowicie pozbyć się tego problemu, wyłączenie w opcjach gry opcji - Ruchu głową, to naprawia problem z unieruchomieniem postaci. Także skorzystajcie z tej rady i dajcie szanse grze. Warto.

Paradise Lost se passa em 1980, vinte anos após a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Mas aqui, a guerra não teve vencedores. A derrota da Alemanha era inevitável e, em um último ato desesperado, o regime nazista decide lançar bombas nucleares por toda a Europa. O mundo entra em colapso. Os nazistas então se escondem em bunkers subterrâneos, na esperança de um dia retornar à superfície e retomar o controle.

Você joga como Szymon, um garoto de apenas 12 anos que décadas depois, embarca em uma jornada solitária em busca de um propósito para sua vida… e de respostas.

Paradise Lost é um jogo totalmente focado em narrativa. Não espere uma gameplay elaborada ou mecânicas complexas. O foco aqui é imersão, atmosfera e história, e nisso o jogo entrega de forma espetacular. A história é contada de maneira interpretativa, através da exploração e de documentos espalhados pelo mapa. Eles aprofundam bastante a narrativa, mas o jogo funciona muito bem mesmo sem ler tudo. Se você prestar atenção ao ambiente, aos diálogos e ao que está acontecendo ao seu redor, você entende exatamente o que aconteceu ali.

O jogo te apresenta os acontecimentos como algo que já passou. No presente da história, quase não existem sobreviventes… talvez nenhum. Você explora bunkers nazistas vazios, frios e silenciosos, e essa ausência constante cria uma sensação de solidão extremamente forte, que contribui muito para a imersão.

Os cenários são muito bem construídos e a direção de arte é excelente. Conforme você começa a entender do que realmente se trata a trama, o jogo revela algo ainda mais perturbador tudo aquilo foi premeditado por uma mente doentia.

(Spoiler) E quando a verdade vem à tona, o jogo te coloca diante de uma escolha difícil.
No meu caso, o final me pegou em cheio. Tenho uma irmã, e quando o jogo me colocou diante daquela situação, simplesmente não consegui partir. Escolhi ficar. Escolhi passar o resto da vida ao lado dela, mesmo sabendo que isso teria um custo alto. Mas pelo menos ela não vai mais ficar sozinha… nunca mais.

Meu veredito:
Paradise Lost vale muito a pena. É um jogo com uma história extremamente interessante, que apresenta uma versão de acontecimentos históricos totalmente original e marcante. Não é um jogo para todos, mas para quem aprecia histórias profundas, solitárias e reflexivas, vale muito a pena.

OBS: O jogo se encontra com um bug após reiniciar. O personagem pode ficar preso no chão, totalmente imóvel. Para resolver, vá até as configurações e desmarque a opção bob cabeça (a opção é exatamente essa), aplique, e o personagem voltará a andar. Sim, isso precisa ser feito toda vez que o jogo for reiniciado.

Personnage bloqué à l'entrée de la gare après le tourniquet, et rien à faire pour le débloquer, il marche dans toutes les directions mais ne bouge pas de place, et charger la dernière sauvegarde n'a pas eu plus d'effet, obligé de recommencer le niveau, c'est à dire le tout début du jeu, donc comme j'ai une vie et qu'elle n'a pas besoin de me la compliquer avec un con de gosse qui se traîne la bite dans un jeu tout pourri en faisant tout au ralenti, hop on désinstalle et on évalue cette merde.

ok so this game has frequent issues with getting stuck in place. Just pray you dont clip into an object, never load a checkpoint because you will be stuck and need to restart the chapter/level. Gameplay is barely existant, exploration is slow and painful due to walk / run speed and very slow interactions/ dialogue locking you in front of a microphone.

Dosłownie skandal w jakim stanie technicznym została wypuszczona ta gra. Gra czesto ma klopoty z frameratem, klatki skaczą ze 144 do 20fps. Nie wiem czy tylko to u mnie byl taki problem ale za kazdym razem gdy wczytam punkt kontrolny gra mi zatrzymuje postac w miejscu a wczytanie checkpointa nie pomaga, przez co jestem zmuszony powtarzać caly rozdział od początku XD. Po recenzjach na steamie wnioskuje że nie tylko mi przeszkadza slimacze tępo głównego bohatera, mysle ze gra by była przyjemniejsza gdyby mozna byloby biegac a nie jak jest obecnie ze niby biegam a i tak jestem wolniejszy niż slimak. Może kiedys dam tej grze drugą szanse ale na ten moment nie polecam. Są lepsze gry tego typu jak the invicible czy firewatch

Very good short game, great narrative. Seen some complaints about the head bobbing and walking speed, you can turn off the head bobbing in the menu and you can press shift to walk a lot faster. Limit your FPS to the setpoints (120, 90, 60 etc) as unlimited does tend to wind up the temps on your GPU for some reason.

The amount of head bob, camera control, and camera movement when walking is unbearable. I feel very nauseous after playing for a bit. It's so bad that I can't continue playing this game, even if I want to.

Podchodziłem do tej gry dosyć optymistycznie pomimo średnich recenzji jakie widnieją na steamie.
Przecież nie może być tak źle... prawda?
A no jednak okazało się, że może.
Idealną recenzją dla tej produkcji jest fakt, że jest to jedna z dosłownie kilku gier (a grałem w dziesiątki), którą odinstalowałem nie kończąc fabuły...

Pierwszym problemem jest prędkość poruszania. Tak wiem, jest to "walking simulator", ale prędkość zwiedzania dosłownie eliminuje chęć eksploracji terenu. Chcesz zerknąć w jakiś zakamarek? Od razu rezygnujesz bo będziesz stamtąd wracał tempem żółwia przez następne dwie minuty.
Dialogi są dosyć specyficzne, mówione bez większych emocji, które chcą przekazać, ale ogólnie są znośne.

Historia była taka...
Pograłem pół godziny i wyszedłem. Na drugi dzień włączam grę, wczytuję i co? Moja postać utknęła w miejsc i nie może się poruszać... No super, nie możesz chodzić w symulatorze chodzenia.
Trudno pomyślałem i wczytałem poziom od nowa. Pograłem kolejną godzinę i wyszedłem.
Uruchamiam grę po jakimś czasie i co?
Znowu stoję w miejscu bez możliwości ruchu, a wczytanie poziomu od nowa to zmarnowanie całej godziny gry...
Trzeci raz już nawet nie chciało mi się sprawdzać czy będzie lepiej.

Totalną porażką jest to, że gra wyszła prawie 5 lat temu, a twórcy nawet nie naprawili błędu, który uniemożliwia rozgrywkę. Dawno nie trafiłem na tak niedorobioną produkcję, w której blokujesz się na płaskim terenie.

Moim zdaniem, ten zakup był całkowitą stratą pieniędzy... szkoda, że nie mam możliwości zwrotu bo chętnie bym z tego skorzystał.

Paradise Lost is a narrative exploration game set in an alternate-history world, where you explore an abandoned underground bunker while uncovering the story of a place shaped by war, ideology, and loss.

This one does something a lot of games in this genre do very poorly: it keeps you genuinely interested. The story and atmosphere are strong enough that you barely notice there’s almost no gameplay at all. The world-building is compelling, the pacing works, and the mystery slowly pulls you forward. It’s a great example of how strong writing and mood can completely carry an experience on their own.

I don't really know how to review this yet as I completly broke it and don't feel like restarting from the beginning. For starters, it really is not to well optimized. My PC is running hot and for that it doesn't look to good. Textures are repeating, german signs are unreasonably placed and so far, the story is more than lacking.

My biggest complaint: the walking speed. Everything is sooooo damn slow, it takes ages and kinda takes the fun out of exploring.

Now for my gamebreaking glitch, I'm assuming, that the game unloads certain Elements after you are past a certain point for efficiency. But I figured that where I wen't is probalby the path forward and I haven't yet checked out the other Stores. Once back, the store was just gone, only the door existed. I went trough anyway out of curiosity and found myself at the bottom of the map. Since i couldn't get out anymore, i decided to reload from last Checkpoint and could not move forward anymore. So I restarted the game and ended up in the same scenario.

Overall, I really can't recommend the game, but I also can't give the story fair justice yet since I haven't seen everything yet.

Paradise Lost hat mir insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Als Walkingsimulator überzeugt es mit einer stimmungsvollen Grafik und einer teilweise tiefgründigen Geschichte, die durch viele lesbare Dokumente noch weiter vertieft wird. Lediglich die fehlerhafte Speicherung der Spielstände war frustrierend, da ich manche Level mehrfach neu beginnen musste. Abgesehen davon hat das Spiel aber zuverlässig funktioniert und bietet ein atmosphärisches Erlebnis für Fans erzählerischer Spiele.

A quiet bunker crawl where the monsters are gone and only the emptiness and remnants of war remain. Nothing ever jumps out, yet every corridor feels heavy, as if the ideology that started the war is what's really haunting the place. This isn't about looting, but about walking through a museum of dead beliefs, with each room holding a different kind of tragedy. It feels less like racing toward an ending and more like slowly wandering through the lingering echo of a world that has already ended.

Paradise Lost is a beautiful and short alternative WWII walking simulator. It is graphically stunning and the story is impactful. You do walk slower than most would prefer but its a walking simulator where the story is told through letters, audio logs, and the environment itself. I would recommend this to those who fall within the overlapping portion of a venn diagram with the genres WWII & Walking Simulator.

[b]Too buggy to even start. [/b]
I was looking forward to check this game out, but sadly when I found the first note, the note did not go away depsite hitting E., which only made the text overlay (dis)appear. The note itself just got glued to my screen, I thought, no biggy. I just restart checkpoint. But when I did that I could not move at all! This was enough for me to quit and uninstall. I can find better things to waste my time with then playing buggy games. I will give it a retry if / when it gets an overhaul and the bugs get solved. Until then a no for me.

This is walking simulator. Not a good one.
For one, loading a game after closing it can get you stuck; blocking you from moving. You had one job game... Let me walk!
Secondly, the headbob makes me feel queasy. This is the only game I have ever experienced this. My guess is that it was added for immersion and realism, which you can also see while the character is interacting with objects. What gets me however, is that the move between walking and interacting is jarring. Your character mostly has to stop there and buffer for half a second while he thinks about how to put a foot on the ladder, this kills all the fluency built in the actual walk.
Another annoying thing is that the interaction range is inconsistent. As an example: There's a particular ladder in act one where the character can't interact with smoothly, and once they do, it appears like the drop to their knees and then climb up like a toddler. It's a bit odd, but fine... so you turn around to see what might have caused this clumsy ascent, and that triggers the action to climb down. So up you have go again like a toddler...

There is also a blur over everything, and the facial expressions look uncanny, making this game excruciatingly ugly.
That all said, someone clearly put in love while making this game, the story is good, the vistas are gorgeous, I just cant recommend it.

Walking Simulator ? Plutot Sleeping Simulator, j'ai rarement vu un jeu aussi mou et ennuyeux.

Si l'idée scénaristique de base semble sympa au début elle devient vraiment nulle au fur et a mesure de l'aventure, le gameplay c'est juste le néant on se contente d'avancer trèèèèès lentement, lire des documents et ouvrir des portes ou chaque interactions est inutilement longue.
Reste la direction artistique qui est bonne mais ne sauve pas le tout.

Si vous cherchez un jeu pour vous endormir n'hésitez pas sinon passez votre chemin.

· 记录：25/03/20入。

· 优点：感觉场景很棒，剧情也还不错的步行模拟剧情游戏，汉化很赞。
缺点：1.音乐还是音效的时大时小。2.主角西蒙步行速度堪忧。3.通关后自动扇存档不能重新读取只能自己在文件里手动保存。

· 手持不会烫手的核能打火机，在一个没有光亮的地下建筑中层层向下，偶尔闪回一些过去的记忆片段。
穿过无人的火车站，从无人认领的行李箱中找到空白的通行证，在无人的火车服务台自己盖章，进入无人的避难所。
故障的电梯无法直达照片中的四层（负四层）（大概），二层（负二层）已经工作的摄像头，突然联系上的说是被困的小女孩但是真的很像AI主脑的存在。（有点像之前玩过的《SOMA》）（火箭开撞门那里的下来的梯子如果在爬上去会发现主角的手是悬空在梯子前并没有抓上的，其他梯子好像都正常）
实验了好久才会用的奇怪的按钮选择方式（鼠标上下滑动），并非中央控制室的控制室。
跳下位置的管道落入水池，爬出并不会湿身的水池，来到三层（负三层）。三层和上一层的工厂完全不同，像是所谓上流人士的休闲度假圣地，海滩、阳伞、躺椅、别墅...（值得一提，这个游戏汉化真的很好，之前就是每个文档不止按E有中文翻译，本身文档的文字也有中文，这次海滩的录音机播放的儿歌的中文翻译更是对仗工整！所以走路超级慢的问题忍了！shift也没怎么加速也忍了，镜头比较晃玩起来头晕也忍了...）
长夜黑兮终有尽，朝阳升兮新日来。四层（负四层）的村庄中，西蒙合上相册的时候再次穿模了，就突然还挺吓人的。

· 这游戏通关后又自动删存档...但是还是多结局，应该提前备份存档的...区别就是选择关闭还是不关闭伊娃，以及西蒙是留下还是离开。——25/11/16

Not gonna lie. The premise got me intrigued so gave it a go. My enjoyment however slowly dwindled during the game's run time. As I was playing it, I quickly realised there's nothing for you to do apart from walking and occasionally pulling levers. That's it. That's the whole game from a gameplay perspective. Sure, it's a project on a smaller side, but if someone decides to make a game, there has to be some point to it and clear effort behind it. Walking in a straight line with no obstacles in the way simply isn't going to make the cut.

Paradise Lost has some impressive locations paired with the world war 2 era setting. In combination it creates this perfect sense of unease. One would think that the developers made full use of this mountain of potential they're sitting upon, but no. The great locals are here just for show. Just something pretty to look at. No purpose to it. Honestly, it felt like booting a test build for a game that is still in it's early development stages.

It's such a shame that the gameplay side of things flopped so hard, because the story has something to it. In short, it's a story depicting how various people deal with grief. What a person is willing to do when stricken by it. It's pretty strong and well done in my opinion. I can't help but wonder how the game would play out had it been for some proper game mechanics to go with it.

Just imagine some puzzles and trinkets to find on your journey. The game has objects to find already, but it doesn't mean a thing. There isn't any "collectible* system in place or anything. Just another missed opportunity.
- Dev team put documents, tapes and computer logs all over the map, so why not let the players collect them? (Tapes were preticulary curious thing to find and listen to)
- Puzzles are practically non existent in this game. Paradise Lost could benefit from a few.
- The complete absence of any in-game mechanics is jaw dropping and makes the whole game an utter slog. Something to manage or to watch out for would have been great. (Light source, batteries to power up gadgets etc.) How anyone could think this was okay....

Paradise Lost sits on a huge hill of potential, but it's all left untapped. You can try the game out if you're curious, but I don't recommend it. At least not in its current state.

Bloker w połowie gry.
Wszedłem w jednym miejscu w drzwi z lewej strony, po chwili cofnąłem się do drzwi z prawej i spadłem pod mapę. Po wczytaniu punktu kontrolnego nie mogę chodzić.

Edit:
Jest nawet gorzej. Miałem auto zapis na 4 levelu i zamknąłem grę. Na drugi dzień kiedy ją odpaliłem to co prawda wyspawnowało mnie w poprawnym miejscu, ale znowu nie mogłem się ruszać. To jakiś żart :)

Um pouco de estresse com o jogo em certos momentos devido mal otimização em alguns cenários e bug de checkpoint, onde ao voltar você fica preso e precisa reiniciar o capitulo. Apesar disto acabei dando positivo para esta bela história com uma linda trilha sonora e ambiente. Além que, acredito que eu do futuro voltarei para jogar e fazer os demais finais, um tanto emocionante este jogo.

Fechei um dos finais do jogo e recomendo a todos. Valeu cada centavo do investimento! Porém jogue com o pensamento de curtir a história, pois o desafio é quase inexistente.

Pontos positivos:
- Fiquei surpreso com a história pois vi alguns comentários falando que o jogo se resumia a screenshots bonitas e na minah visão tá bem longe disso. Vi bastantes documentos, porém tem que procurar, ler e/ou ouvir as gravações.
- Amei os personagens principais, cativantes. Uma menção honrosa a personagem secundaria, a cantora Greta Muller (fiquei com vontade de conhecer mais sobre a história dela)
- Trilha sonora e outros efeitos (mais um ponto de destaque). Se possível jogue com um bom Headset – o meu está longe disso e já fez uma grande diferença
- O jogo apresenta ótimos cenários (quase um retorno no tempo)
Pontos negativos:
- Como relatado por alguns existe um bug chato e persistente no save do jogo. Se você sair e entrar no jogo, simplesmente o personagem fica travado. Para destrava basta ir em configurações desabilitar a opção “bob cabeça” (que dá a sensação de movimento no personagem). Desabilite essa opção, volte para tela de opções, volte novamente em configurações e marque esta opção. Vai normalizar o save. Fora este bug, apenas travou uma única vez numa tela de passagem de fase.
- O Jogo é curto, podia ser um pouco mais longo.
- Para um cenário tão belo, senti falta de mais interação com objetos e prêmios colecionáveis.
- Outro ponto negativo é o save subscrever. Dica: se quiser ver todos os finais sem precisar começar o jogo do zero, faça um backup, principalmente perto do fim do jogo. Pois ao fechar um dos finais e terminar as cenas de créditos, simplesmente o save some e não encontrei uma forma de recuperar ☹

The game is a intersting walking simulator story. Sometimes you'll get stuck if you reload a checkpoint (easy to fix, deactivate head bob and you can move again).
I really liked the world around me, wouldn't have minded some more details from the documents.

If you can buy it for a few bucks, go for it. The start is a little slow and you dont really know whats happening, but you'll be able to figure it out.

Ja, das Spiel hat technische Probleme,aber dafür eine sehr bewegende Geschichte. Ich kann nicht für alle Enden reden, das was ich erleben durfte war ergreifend. Wem Geschichte wichtiger ist als Technik und Action ist hier richtig. ich empfehle eine Sitzung nach dem ersten Speichern eines neuen Kapitels zu beenden, da man beim Laden eines Speicherstandes, zumindest bei meinem Durchlauf stecken bleibt (der Charakter kann sich nicht mehr bewegen) und man löst dieses nur wenn man das Kapitel neustartet.

Le jeu est lent, et buggé au niveau des chargements de sauvegardes - il y a une solution néanmoins (désactivez le head bob, c'est primordial).
Mais une fois ces 2 points admis, c'est un très bon jeu dans son genre. L'environnement est magnifique, l'histoire est fantastique et dure à la fois.
Je recommande, mais à prix réduit (à cause de ses défauts)

i recommend this game for those , who like to discover story by them selves, but always guided by game script.no matter game is short, but it kind of slow, because except the main story, nothing new doesnt appear. i tink its good for new players ,who doesnt know they games genre yet. a lot of reading so in my oppinion and experience it was like reading a book with good effects of video. interactive book. not so much action or puzzles. i would add some kind of puzzles when acquiring memory tube or adding tube to computer. no matter what, finished game , i enjoy it. keeep the good work in future guys. for those who want to try, just try

Excellent jeu , un parcours assez linéaire pour ce qui est du gameplay , je le qualifierai de film interactif avec des rails qui nous guide tout du long ( possibilité d’exploration limiter ) des interactions parsemé ici et la et une quantité correcte de papiers a lire pour obtenir une bonne perspective sur l’histoire une ressemblance de concept que l’on retrouve dans Fort Solis ( jeu beaucoup plus récents )

The story is not that great and not that bad. Slow pacing walking simulator and bug issues.
But the ending touched my heart Paradise Lost offers a haunting beauty of apocalyptic world. It offers also a great visual with different environment.

It's just sad that the choices you make doesn't change the story only the ending choices.
It's annoying that you need to play a new game like 4 times to get the achievement of 4 ending.

As others have already pointed out, the protagonist is one slow 12 year old. It's clear the devs want you to take your time admiring their setpieces.
Granted, the setpieces are impressive. But unfortunately the writing is more on the bland side which is hard to forgive in a narratiion focused game.

Not really recommended, unless you have a thing for Nazi decor. If you got a knack for such ambiance, man, this is for you.

Langsamer atmosphärischer Walking Simulator, bei dem man in der Rolle eines polnischen Jungen einen alten Nazibunker erkundet.
An manchen Stellen habe ich jederzeit erwartet, dass gleich ein Nazizombie um die Ecke kommt und "Mein Leben!" ruft.
Jedoch gibt es im ganzen Spiel keine Gefahr.

Story mäßig steckt mehr dahinter, als man am Anfang vom Spiel erwartet.
Später bekommt man Unterstützung in Form einer Frau, die über eine Fernsprechanlage und Überwachungskameras mit dir kommuniziert
Es wird eine eine Art heidnischer Kult erwähnt.
Man denkt sich "Das alles kann doch niemals im zweiten Weltkrieg gebaut worden sein".
Im zweiten Kapitel gibt es an einer Stelle zwei verschiedene Wege die man gehen kann.
Die anderen Optionen außer die letzten 3 Entscheidungsmöglichkeiten am Ende des Spiels scheinen keinerlei Auswirkungen zu haben.

Ein bisschen nervig ist, dass es keine Sprint-Funktion gibt.
Am Anfang des Spiels sieht man, dass der Junge ein Feuerzeug als Lichtquelle dabei hat.
Warum kann man das nicht selbst aktivieren?
Es wird nur in vorgegebenen Sequenzen aktiviert.
Das Spiel ist an einigen Stellen etwas dunkel.
Walking Simulator hin oder her, aber so viel Immersion muss schon sein.

Relativ viele Reviewer bemängeln, dass das Spiel buggy wäre.
An der Stelle wo man aus dem kaputten Aufzug klettert konnte ich mich nicht mehr bewegen.
Habe den Spielstand neu geladen, dann ging es.
An einigen Stellen hat das Spiel reproduzierbare Ruckler.
Mein neuer PC ist eigentlich leistungsfähig genug.
Ich habe technisch schon deutlich miesere Spiele gezockt.
Aber kann sein, dass ich nur Glück hatte.

Un walking simulator que no muestra mecanicas nuevas pero si una historia interesante.
Una segunda guerra que nunca termino y distopias con bunkeres nazis es el universo del juego.
Aunque la historia te la vas oliendo de lejos ( al menos en mi caso ) supongo que los compases finales son tristones. Me gusto mucho a partir del capitulo 3 en adelante. Bastante cortito de duracion

I'm saying no, because this is a very slow walking story simulation.

Is the story bad, No actually. It is a fantastic story. The justification of how much time you have to spend moving from location to location... No chapter selection, and save deletion make it a drag to get all five ends, of which I got the outcome about 10 minutes into the game with the second cut-scene and the pocket watch you find in the first act.

All that to say, if you miss this one... Don't feel to bad, but if you can catch it for a dollar or two, or in a bundle like I did definitly consider it.

I got really interested in the premise of this adventure, but the execution is just kinda poor. All the story is related to you through audio and text logs, everything else is just boring walking simulator. And the walking speed is just so slow, it feels like dragging , combined with a lot of monotonous voice-over is a good way to fall to sleep, not have exciting and meaningful gameplay.

I fortunately had not issue with any bugs, so for me the game represented a purely positive experience. I found the setting to be really unique and interesting. The graphics and locations were also unique and diverse, with an interesting enough story tying it all together.

[h3]Detailed Environments[/h3]
Paradise Lost, as far I can tell is inspired by Milton's epic poem. It follows many similar story arcs, covering heroes, their failings, the worship of false gods, and of knowingly sinning and ensuing regret. And of course, all the kinds of love possible too. All beneath what rich tapestry of humanity, is a pretty simple linear story telling game. To me, initially the game also felt perhaps inspired by the sole survivor in Bethesda's Fallout, but this is a story, not an RPG at all and you really have limited choices to make. All the characters in the story are slowly revealed to you and I found it impossible to tell what would happen next at any point. Gripping stuff.

Exploring and interpreting the vistas albeit underground, never gets claustrophobic, it's just so pretty to look at. The level design must have been well playtested. Despite it being so detailed, I never ended up getting stuck in corners or other while trying to peer around corners or see through undergrowth and fallen debris. A very realistic and vast bunker network. Full of emotive scenery.

[h3]Play Mechanics[/h3]
Very little to it, just walk, interact, and walk and just keep moving and finding bits of the story. Movement speed is fast enough to complete the game in a bit over 3 hours. No inventory management, no parkour, very little puzzle solving. Personally I would have liked to have had some puzzles, because the only hard thing in this game was getting your avatar to stand in the exact position needed to open a door or pull a lever. Unlike most games, that unlock different moves as you progress, the game instead progresses the depth of story. The game has save points, but not that many. So is best played in as few sittings as possible.

I'm not going to rave about this game though, it has a brilliant script, but little things like lack of exploration, lack of choice, and the way the story is told on scraps of paper and objects you pick up makes it a bit reading heavy. I felt it missed chances to use more objects in the game to tell the story instead. You can pick up quite a few objects, but not do anything with them for example, was one missed chance. You do get choices, but they ultimately allow you to express how you feel about each situation only.

I really really wanted to like this game. The story seemed interesting enough and the atmosphere was great. While the gameplay is not the most engaging, i don't mind a good walking simulator. unfortunately the game is so buggy that i could not get passed chapter 2. No matter how many times I've restarted the game or the level. At one point in chapter 2 where you're supposed to go down some stairs, the character will just float above them making it impossible to continiue the game.

Since this game is now over 4 years old, it's unlikely these bugs will get ever be fixed. So i can't even recommend this game if it's on sale as it is impossible to beat the game.

While I do give this a thumbs up, you gotta be aware the game is [u]buggy[/u].

I did love the atmosphere, the different environments and the details that were there to explore.

But there were numerous bugs forcing me to restart the chapters, because loading in the last checkpoint would not help (e.g. being stuck in place, the character floating in the air, important items not loading in,...).
Also disappointing that there are different endings, but [spoiler]how you play the game does not influence these until some dialogue choices at the end[/spoiler]... and then there is no chapter selection. So to see all of them you technically would need to play through the entire game again (or you could apparently cheese it by [spoiler] waiting until the bunker is shown from the outside, then going into the pause menu and reloading the chapter for the other endings[/spoiler]).
So that just as a heads up.

se finit en 4 heures, pas moyen de faire des sauvegardes donc obligé de tout refaire si on veux débloquer tout les succés, on peux pas courir ce qui est très pénible rapidement, quelques bugs et plantages...
Bref, pas super, même si l'histoire reste assez intéressante.

At the time I'm writing this review, I can see few negative ones that say there is a game breaking bug in Paradise Lost. That really sucks, and if it's something that often happens and actually leads to softlock, then it really deserves negative reviews.
But luckily - I was able to play through the game without any problems. And based on my experiences, I think it deserves my recommendation.
So this is a walking simulator - meaning the gameplay is very basic. It's not a shooter, nor it is a puzzle game. It's a narrative game, that tells you the story through nice visuals, audiologs, notes you find along the way and conversations through the radio with another character. So I'm basing my opinion on those merits. From time to time it even gives you some things to do, simple puzzles to solve to push the game forward. Nothing groundbreaking, but at least it makes "walking" more interesting.
And the story is pretty good. Most importantly - it's coherent. Makes sense. It's not some messy nonsense you can't really get a grasp on - which is often the case with other walking sims. Alternative 2nd world war history, secret nazi complex and experiments, mixed with sci-fi and postapo elements. All presented with fantastic visuals. It's an envirnomental storytelling done well. And few endings depending on difficult choices at the end only make the game better - it's gives the emotional impact so important to end the game on a high note.

The bad
as mentioned, the game has many save and checkpoint related issues.
each chapter is safe to exit at, just walk untill the game auto saves.
the walking is slow.

The Good
The story is emotional and worthwhile,
the environments are stunning, and made with intention.

if played chapter by chapter, or in one sitting, the checkpoints will not be a problem.
if your stuck, scrollwheel, or mouse upwards.

Une superbe histoire dans un cadre dystopique où le 3ème Reich a pu poursuivre son programme nucléaire et lancer son plan de sauvegarde avec des bunkers sous terrain répartis en Europe. Le jeu est beau et s'apprécie en une traite (4H de jeu environ). C'est avant tout un walking sim et il faut l'apprécier surtout pour sa narration et ses décors. Sur bien des aspects, j'ai retrouvé le même émerveillement qu'avec Bioshock.
Si vous aimez les très bonnes histoires tant en prenant votre temps pour fouiller le décor pour en apprendre plus, foncez !

I really want to like this.

The atmosphere seems great and they have obviously put a ton of care and detail into the environments, but the game is just far too much of a slog to play. The walking speed is simply too slow and nothing in the environment is going to be interesting enough to make it worth enduring the absolutely awful movement.

A great walking simulator in a WW2 setting. After about half of the game it is more and more clear where is it going to end. But the story is still pretty interesting if you explore the little bits of the pretty linear surroundings and read the notes.
Otherwise not many choices and not really puzzle segments. Still enjoyed it a lot but more like a film than a game.

Gamebreaking Bug der einen am Weiterkommen hindert. Da es nicht einen einzigen Patch gab, nicht einen wie faul ist das denn bitte? Bewerte ich dieses Spiel als abandonware und kann es auf gar keinen Fall weiterempfehlen. Nicht mal im Sale und auch nicht bei Keysellern für 0.90 Cent. Zeit und Geldverschwendung.

I don't even know how I got this game, I hope I didn't purchase it. This game I just tried playing just now for the first time. It is so unplayable. Its crazy choppy! and I mean crazy! Like omg! I dropped all settings and everything and added Vsync to help but nope won't run without massive chop. Complete waste of time and money DO NOT BUY!

Movement is very slow; holding shift to run seems like a placebo. Voice acting is a little rough and the main character has some knowledge and abilities not consistent with his background. (Raised by one person in a two-room tiny nuclear shelter, yet he can swim and paddle a boat? He recognizes what a meat-packing plant is on sight?) There aren't really any puzzles, and the game is very linear. I think there's one section where you can choose what path to take in the first chapter, and you end up at the same place a few minutes later. Late in the game there's a choice to see two out of three rooms before moving on, so I did play through twice to see it all (or at least, all that I found).

That aside, the atmosphere is amazing. The storytelling method (finding notes and putting it together in your own head) is one I personally enjoy. It's been sitting in my library for a while and I'm glad I took a day to play through it; it made me feel and think and reflect.

I honestly don't understand why the score for this game is so low.
It was exactly what I wanted from a Walking Sim. While the writing could have been a bit stronger, I very much enjoyed the story overall, and how it came together in the end.
The environments were great, the atmosphere was the best thing about it all, and I enjoy voice acting done with sincerity by non-native speakers.
If you're in the mood for a mellow Walking Sim, you can't go wrong with this!

Paradise Lost offers a hauntingly beautiful setting and a compelling alternate-history story that kept me engaged. The visual design is stunning and really brings the post-apocalyptic bunker to life.
That said, the movement is slow, which can make exploration feel tedious. I also ran into occasional loading issues, and the voice acting felt flat in places.
If you enjoy atmospheric, story-driven games and can overlook some rough edges, Paradise Lost is worth experiencing.
