Das Spiel ist stimmungsvoll gestaltet in seinen vielen Grauschattierungen, die in Pixelart schön zur Geltung kommen. Die Steuerung ist klassisch Point-and-Click in bewährter Art und Weise. Als 29 Jahre alte Frau blockiert einem bei Nacht ein umgefallener Strommast den Weg und an diesem Mast gilt es vorbeizukommen. Damit ist im Kern auch schon die gesamte Handlung des Spiels umrissen. Es ist damit doch etwas sehr kurz geraten und gerade als Spannung und Atmosphäre des Spiels anfangen zu wirken, ist das Spiel auch schon vorbei. Es wirkt damit eher wie der Teaser eines Spiels und weniger wie ein komplettes Spiel.
Stimmung, Steuerung und Geschichte wirken gut miteinander zusammen, aber es hätte mehr Handlung gebraucht, um wirklich Wirkung zu erzielen. So wirkt das Spiel mit einer Spieldauer von vielleicht 15 Minuten lediglich wie ein Prolog und nicht wie ein für sich stehendes Spiel.

Es una pena porque la ambientacion es fantastica, pero es como si coges cualquier aventura grafica que conozcas y al minuto 10 se acaba. Creo que habria sido mucho mejor desarrollar algo durante mas tiempo y ofrecer un producto que al menos llegase a hora y media. Hay aventuras graficas que en muy poco tiempo te cuentan una historia, pero esto parece simplemente un prologo de una aventura que no va a continuar.

A great little Horror Point & Click game. I really liked the graphics and animation, and I look forward to playing all the other games in the series.
This short point & click game finds it's strengths in sound, art, and atmosphere. I found myself wishing there was more. I finished the whole game in under 20 minutes. I can't wait to check out the other episodes in this series!
A very short and sweet pixel-art point and click horror game that proves that you don't need fancy graphics and music to create a sense of creeping dread and unease.
This dev seems to specialize in this sort of game, and while this may have been one of his first efforts, you certainly wouldn't know it from the gameplay and creepiness.
The only downside is that while the asking price is pretty low, the game can be easily completed in under 15 minutes (none of the puzzles are that complicated) so you might want to wait for it to go on sale.

This and The Nanny are, in my opinion, Octavi's best games so far. They have this special atmosphere and are perfectly structured while being really enjoyable to play.
I wish it was longer though, because it's more like an appetizer rather than a full meal. And It would be amazing to have a full ~2 hour game that has exactly this vibe and execution.

Não é um problema um jogo ser curto, mas nesse caso ficou uma sensação de que a conclusão foi um pouco precoce. O visual do jogo é muito bem feito e é ainda mais valorizado com alguns dos toques cinematográficos utilizados. Os puzzles são legais, mas bem básicos, e até quebram um pouco da imersão por não seguirem tanto a proposta mais realista do jogo. Acredito que esse seja um piloto do projeto, portanto espero que as sequências trabalhem melhor esses aspectos citados.

Fantastic art style, absolutely awesome soundtrack, but 3 euros for 15 minutes of game is asking a bit too much.
One of my faveourite short story series. The first episode sets the tone perfecty and you want to immediately jump into the next episode. Replaying them on Steam now, I can recommend doing one episode per day and not all at once. That way the suspense and curiosity can settle in.

This is a very short game that serves as a pretty great introduction to the work of this developer, Octavi Navarro. Without getting into the specifics of the story, I think this game does a pretty great job with atmosphere; and, while there is some narration, it mostly relies on the "show, don't tell" method of storytelling. I really enjoyed the [i]Twilight Zone-esque[/i] aesthetic and vibe. The art is all really nice and very well done. The music isn't anything super complex, at least not in terms of instrument usage; however, it really nailed what it was going for and the subtlety and more drawn back approach actually really worked well. It fit with the visual art style really well.
I [i]highly recommend[/i] picking this game up on sale and/or as part of a bundle. Thankfully, this developer offers two great bundles, with one focusing on all of their "Midnight Scenes" games.
Octavi Navarro is an indie developer who can clearly deliver good, quality work for a reasonable price. I'm always going to recommend supporting such artists, but especially in this case where clearly someone was passionate about their craft. I look forward to playing the rest of the series and seeing what they have [i]in store[/i] next.

Note : Le manque de profondeur du scénario, allié à la courte durée de jeu nécessaire pour le terminer, m’a convaincu de faire une demande de remboursement. Je mets un pouce bleu vers le haut mais c'est uniquement pour le concept. Devant un jeu vidéo qui propose une aventure horrifique en pixel art et en noir et blanc dans l'esprit de la série culte "La Quatrième Dimension", tout être humain normalement équilibré applaudit des deux mains. Seulement, le jeu en lui-même ne casse pas des briques et ne risque pas d'emmener qui que ce soit dans une autre dimension. Dans le générique du début, sous le titre "Midnight Scenes", on peut lire "un jeu court d'Octavi Navarro". L'expression "jeu court" est très exagérée car tout au plus a-t-on affaire ici à une démo, et même à la démo d'une démo. Autre déception : le gameplay convoque les codes du point'n click dans tout leur classicisme assoupissant. Le concept est expérimental, donc, mais le déroulé du jeu conservateur. Pour finir, l'intrigue laisse sur sa faim. Ce n'est pas quelque chose que je dis souvent car je n'aime rien tant qu'un mystère qui conserve son aura et ses zones d'ombre, mais là on aurait aimé quelque chose d'un poil plus explicatif. Bref, "Midnight Scenes : The Highway" vaut surtout pour son emballage et sa sympathique ambiance d'horreur rétro, et j'ai hâte de me lancer dans le deuxième épisode de la franchise pour voir si ce cher Octavi a injecté des idées de gameplay plus novatrices ou s'il a préféré rester sur un territoire très balisé.

INCREDIBLY short and not a ton of substance but still charming and good Halloween vibes. Nothing nearly as heady or suspenseful as Twilight Zone, this is just softly adjacent.
Recommended *only if* on sale and you also get the other four episodes, as they gradually increase in play time and story complexity. In this way it feels more complete.
There are quite a few solo dev F2P games out there that accomplish quite a lot more (which is fine, just saying). This episode and series would have benefited a lot from a different pricing structure and/or rolling all the episodes together into one title, kind of like Darkside Detective.

I played another Midnight Scenes last year, and decided to go and buy all of them this year.
The Highway is super short (I played through in 15 mins), but it is atmospheric, creepy, and fun. The artstyle and music standout to help really sell the events in the game.
Perfect for a quick spooky game in the Fall, I recommend checking out the other Midnight Scenes games too!

I thought that, as a good choice, I’d check through the catalog of Octavi Navarro and see what would be fitting for Spooky Season. One such fitting choice is the [i]Midnight Scenes[/i] series, so let’s start with the first installment!
Taking place on a deserted road, 29-year-old Claire Barnes is on her way back home. The night begins like any other. However, her whole life is about to change as she discovers what true horrors lurk in the darkness of this lonely highway. What happened on this road? Is it all real? She’s about to find out…
I adore the vibe and feel of this game, which feels like an episode of [i]The Twilight Zone[/i] that’s playable. To me, as a fan of the show, the game perfectly captures the tone and atmosphere of the series. Another aspect I love about this game and Navarro’s other games is the pixelated, point-and-click approach they take to gameplay. It makes it unique. In addition to this, the game isn’t too long; it should only take about 15 minutes to play through, but that’s not a bad thing here for how good the experience was. The story, with its central mystery and the sound design, was really good, too.
I really need to check out the other games in the [i]Midnight Scenes[/i] series. [i]The Highway[/i] feels like a teaser, but it is an excellent start! I will recommend it, and I am always happy to support this developer.

あらすじ：主人公は車での移動中にたまたまアクシデントに遭い、予定よりも遅れて目的地へと急いでいる女性である。そしてその予想外の行動のズレによって彼女は奇妙な事態に巻き込まれることになるのだった。

感想：とにかく短い。思っていた倍くらいは全体的にアッサリしている。びっくりした。雰囲気をちょっと味わえたかもというところで終わる。本作は「Midnight Scenes」でシリーズ化しているので、物語世界をもっと覗きたいならそれらを適宜購入してプレイしてねという感じなのだとは思うけれど、これをやってあえてそこまで深入りしようという気持ちにならないくらいアッサリし過ぎているので、もう少しフックが欲しかった感じが勝る。導入も導入で強制終了の感。いっそシリーズ化していないでこれのみのつもりで作られていたほうが余韻としてちょうど良かったのでは？とも思う。
雰囲気は出ていて、少し古いアメリカンホラーの不気味さ、奇妙さが感じられる作品ではあった。

Una breve (apenas 20 minutos) viñeta siniestra, más centrada en crear una atmósfera desasosegante que en pegar sustos. Puzles sencillos y un look que recuerda a las viejas aventuras de Sierra. Fue el primer juego de su desarrollador y se nota: Da la sensación de ser un ensayo de futuros juegos más elaborados. Recomendable como curiosidad, para quien le guste este género.
全系列都买了 实际上解谜性较弱 流程较短 但是故事性很好 后三作都没有官中 希望能够补上 最新一作是今年年初 感觉还有续作的样子 支持！很多人说价格太贵和流程时间不匹配 但是我想说 就冲这个阴阳魔界的风格我就一定会买单:D

I came across this game yesterday and played the first four in the series today. Absolutely brilliant use of sound design, creative storytelling, and wonderful art. I can't speak highly enough of this series and look forward to playing the fifth and hopefully more in the future.
One of the things Octavi Navarro excels at is creating an unsettlingly atmosphere without immediately showing you something frightening. Even in this early game that is an aspect that is a clear strength. The game is very short and kind of just ends abruptly, but I think can still see the vision and overall feel the developer’s games tend to have from this.
What a great little game. Beautiful art and amazing atmosphere.
This kind of work encourages me to make my own games.

Great play-while-eating-a-good-snack 20 minute horror tv episode! While more simplistic that the next episodes, there's an eeriness to the style and silence that feels very good.

점프 스케어(깜짝 놀래킴) 이 없고 흑백이라 크게 잔인하지 않아서 남녀노소 즐기기 쉬울 거 같다.

Hikaye güzel başladı, tam "aa acaba ne olacak" derken 10. dakikada bitti... Oyun daha çok bir hikaye denemesi gibi olmuş, geliştiricinin kendisi birkaç oyununu ücretsiz yapmış bence bu da öyle olmalıymış. Çünkü genel bir ana hikayeden ziyade prologue oynuyorsunuz. 1.5 dolara 10 dakikalık bu oynayış pek makul gelmedi. Alıp deneyebilirsiniz, sonrasında ise bütçeniz doğrultusunda kütüphanede kalıp kalmayacağına karar verirsiniz.
Ek olarak geliştirici işi seriye çevirmiş, bundle halinde satılıyor. Episode 2 Nanny ve birkaç ay önce çıkan A Safe Place paket dahilinde...

Short, but well executed love letter to The Twilight Zone, presented as an episode of a similar TV-show, and it nails the presentation and pacing. I could almost hear Rod Sterling as the narrator. The price, for what is esentially a 10-15 minute experience that you play once might be a bit high for some. But personally I like to support solo devs who put out great work and Octavio Navarro makes some excellent stuff in the horror adventure genre. Just be aware it's super short if you pick this up.

不知道何时把本作放在愿望单里，今天买了以后看是个小品级游戏，就趁着间隙赶紧试试。不试不知道，一试吓一跳，13分钟就打通了，这还包括调设置和最后等字幕出完的时间，实际的游戏流程只有十分钟！真的是如标题所说，一分钟一块钱，这性价比也太低了。游戏是传统的点击冒险式，黑白像素风，可以拿取物品与互动，唯一的谜题就是旋转稻草人的胳膊开门。
游戏像黑白惊悚片，给我一种《心灵杀手》里面“夜泉”电视节目的感觉，故事表面看是个公路连环撞车与谋杀事件，带灵异色彩。仔细看看的话，会明白小男孩被科研机构抓走研究，父亲到处贴寻人启事。后来，小孩能力爆发，杀死机构的人逃出回家，但所到之处尽是毁灭，连父亲也死了，不知道是不是机构的人杀的。最后的结局也很好理解，机构权力那么大，让警察说没啥事还不容易。这不就是《超凡双生》或者说《怪奇物语》吗？
无论如何，这个十几块钱只能玩十分钟的游戏我是不推荐的，远不如大批免费的好玩游戏。各位如果想尝试，不如打完退款，这也不算使坏，因为完全符合Steam规定。我就不退了，写篇测评提醒一下各位。该作者还把《Midnight Scenes》做成了系列，已经出到第四部了，听说还是非常短。我可不想再试了，哎，写测评的时间都比游戏时间长。
Un jeu démo qu'on finit en 10-15 minutes, ça devrait être gratuit car pour 2-3 euros on peut trouver de vrais jeux avec lesquels on va passer un bon et long moment. Bien réalisé mais payer pour une démo c'est vraiment dommage, les suites ne sont pas plus longues d'après les commentaires que je lis donc j'en resterai là avec cette série. 6/20
