Одна из метаголоволомок, отдельные мини-игры простые, но при этом довольно оригинальные. Пройти полностью даже не пытался, без гайда это едва ли возможно.
Напоминаю, что айтишники - это конченные зaдрoты и нeудaчники, которые насмотрелись в 90х фильмов про терминатора и решили "напрограммировать", а потом понеслaсь… Принципиально ниxyя толком делать не умеют, потому что все как один являются криворуким и ленивым быдлoм, умеют работать только по шaблoнчикам, с использованием уже готовых инструментов. Прoкрaстинирyют часами на хaбрaхaбре и бaшoргaх, пoпёрдывaя в стул. Изобретательское мышление и воображение отсутствует, что не отличает их от типичной офисной oбeзъянки. Разве что велосипеды умеют изобретать и гoрoдить кoстыли. Aйтишники это не художники, не новаторы, не революционеры. Увидишь айтишника - плюй ему в лицо.

Le principe d'une interface mimant un Système d'Exploitation est surprenante lors de la prise en main.
Problème : la vingtaine de minis-jeux/puzzles ne dépassent jamais ce stade et ne développent pas vraiment le concept. Ces minis-puzzles sont parfois même agaçants : prise en main ou manque d'information sur ce qui est attendu (n'est pas The Witness qui veut).
Le système d'indices progressifs (2 ou 3 par puzzle), découverts en dépensant une "ressource" que l'on peut elle-même récupérer par un mini-jeu de type flipper, est une belle idée. Malheureusement, celle-ci est plutôt gâchée par la nature des indices, qui trop souvent, ne font pas avancer la réflexion (le 1er indice est trop souvent évident, et il faut aller chercher le 2ème ou 3ème pour avoir un début d'aide).
Jeu très court (~2h) mais le faible intérêt des puzzles ne donne pas vraiment envie de prolonger les efforts.

É definitivamente um jogo. kkkkkk. É bem nostálgico, no estilo próprio dele. De nostalgia lembra o Progressbar95, mas de jogabilidade não parece. É um jogo de "quebrar-cabeça", literalmente. Nada muito complexo, mas se tu for muito estressado e não aguentar procurar uma solução ou como resolver, nem tenta kk. Mas é um ótimo jogo, recomendo ;)

What starts off a little weird turns to a fun little puzzle game that is kinda entertaining, quite short if you use any of the hints, and sometimes puzzles just complete. The achievements basically tell you how to get them in the name so it's a really short game, but maybe worth the pickup on sale just for it's charm.

Think different! a great puzzle game
the usual lazy 'minimalist' effort from the developer of hocus, etc. missing basic functionality like windowed mode or volume settings, finicky controls, too much arcade ♥♥♥♥ for a puzzle game, including the way to recharge hints, and a too high price tag. even their game released after doesn't cost this much (and is just as lazy, no improvement on any front over the years).
also, some of the stuff is hard to see (like gray numbers on black, congrats) and I managed to break the portal app, had to restart the whole game to fix it. if you want an excellent fake os game, check out [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/dohi64/recommended/1131530]dum-dum[/url] instead and don't bother with this.
macdows 95 is a very creative puzzle game - more specifically, it consists of a large number of smaller, random puzzles. Said puzzles range in difficulty and complexity, but all of them are doable, either due to being very intuitive or thanks to the ingame hint system. The game itself quite short - I have finished it in about 2 hours, with 30 minutes more to collect every achievement.
My only two problems with the game were:
- some achievements are impossible to complete after the ending, forcing you to reset your game through erasing some files,
- the ending does not make it clear you have finished the game - I spent 10 minutes on the ending screen thinking there is still one more puzzle to solve.
Those problems are ultimately rather insignificant, so the overall enjoyment of the game remains unaffected. As such, I highly reccomend the game for anyone who enjoys short, creative puzzles that sometimes require out-of-the-box thinking. The game is quite cheap already and is certainly worth buying, whether or not it is currently on sale.

Right. 10 mins into the game I even forgot I have a brain.
The most I did in this game was playing that mini snake game to earn points, because hints require points and funny enough, I still cannot solve puzzles because the hints are still riddles. Maybe it reduced the difficulty but my brain is fried already.
The only puzzle I solved was the Bluetooth pattern puzzle, but I guess a 6-year-old could do it, too. Game hurts my ego, now please I'll need to hide in a corner and cry.
I usually rate a game base on the content but for this particular game I rate positive for its humor.

This game offers a couple dozens of mini-games related to different features from old OSes. Reverser minesweeper, where you have to tap only on bombs, pong that you can play with your voice, desktop cleaner which is a dog licking junk from your screen - just a couple of examples.
Nothing too hard, mostly "think outside of the box" puzzles that require conceptual thinking and some basic knowledge of systems from the past. If you get stuck you can use hints a-la professor Layton, so pretty much everyone can beat it.
For this price I couldn't've asked for more. Great game!

TL;DR: [b]I want to be able to recommend this game, I really do, but a disappointing conclusion and unsavory business practices leaves me in this position.[/b]
As a fan of puzzle games and weird meta-y simulated computer experiences (hi Daniel Mullins!), macdows 95 seemed like bait for me. And I definitely enjoyed a fair amount of it; a lot of its puzzles require thinking outside the box in simple but neat ways. That's cool. I like that.
[b] ====The Good [/b]
-Simple, but neat, puzzles. I like the reuse of [spoiler]the microphone plug[/spoiler] in two puzzles, the nonlinear format of it all, the variety, et cetera.
-The presentation of it all is effective in exactly the way you want it to be. This is a weird inexistent desktop that you're going to have to sort through and solve, with almost all of your 'tools', as it were, presented upfront.
[b] ====The Bad [/b]
-There's no music. Not necessarily a problem, at least not for me, but it might be awkward to others.
-Several puzzles are one-off-and-done, which isn't necessarily bad, but I wish there was more coherency tying them all together. There are some that work neatly together, at least, like the repeated uses of mind map dots in new ways.
-The art style choices are... 'odd', at times, including such things as random clipart and the Mona Lisa holding a fidget spinner. It feels more like it's trying to be random for randomness's sake, after a bit.
[b] ====The Ugly [/b]
-The ending "reveal" is... frankly, a letdown. [spoiler]I'm never a fan of 'all just a dream'-alike endings, so the "wake up" stuff that was barely even hidden through various puzzle gave me worries to begin with. The reveal of 'oh uh actually you were being used for an experiment to create an AI, or something. the end' was somehow even more anticlimactic and dull than I was expecting.[/spoiler]
-Speaking of that ending, apparently the whole game is (according to other people I've heard in the steam discussions) almost-entirely just a reference to the show [spoiler]Westworld[/spoiler]???? Which... inspiration isn't a bad thing, but having a game be so heavily inspired off one thing makes it feel a little derivative.
-[b]Now for the serious stuff[/b] - This game was originally sold on Humble Bundle. After making money from there, the developers simply... never gave the game keys to any of the people who bought it there, leaving them empty-handed and replying with only a vague twitter post in 2019. Over three years later, they still haven't done anything about this. I wasn't impacted by this but such business practices would've been enough for me to downvote this outright.
A shame, really. I enjoyed a lot of my time with macdows, and it feels like there's promise here... but maybe it was all just surface-layer moneymaking after all.
I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I like all Yunus' games but this one was especially fun, and not just for the meta humor. Dozens of very original puzzles, not too easy, not too hard. Even the achievements are so much fun to do. Recommended!

great game but maaaaan does it have a weird premise, not at all what I expected. I personally thought it was going to be a simulator for mac and windows that I can play and enjoy but instead it is a puzzle game. everything is great, apart from the fact that I did not expect the game to be like this.
An ergodic puzzle game with a variety. Some of them are really clever, and left me a smile after solving. Usually I'd really appreciate a game for being short but this one is just too short for my liking. Other than that a really well made game.
