Still holds up tbh. Simple, fun, runs have good development but don't overstay their welcome, cool environments/themes. I don't want to oversell it - it's not a genre-defining game by any stretch, but it's very good if you don't mind the dated graphics. Speaking of which, the visuals really aren't much to look at by today's standards (or even when it came out, really) but the art style is nice, the voice acting isn't cheesy, and the game doesn't take itself too seriously which leads to it just being... fun. Something a lot of "modern games" seem to struggle with.

An action roguelike differentiated by a few unique mechanics (dash that teleports towards the mouse coursor, the ability to go back to stages you cleared to pick up the rewards you couldn't, such as heals), very tight, claustrophobic stages, high tempo, limited dashes/special attacks and an interesting, modern-occult-punk theme which is quite intriguing. If you're either an action roguelike fan or enjoy a setting and theme somewhere between Mage: the Ascension, EYE: Divine Cybermancy, Shadowrun and Secret World (with the caveat that there's not that much setting *material*, mostly vibes and snippets), I think you'll enjoy it!

Чувствуется достаточно однообразным. Да, глифы чуть-чуть разнообразят игру, но в основном уровни одни и те-же - ты бегаешь одно время против кучи хилых врагов(или расправляешься с ними скиллом, который предназначен для зачистки больших групп), а потом добиваешь чуть сильных противников. Эту беготню пытаются разбавить врагами, которые могут заграждать тебе путь, чтобы ты применяли свой дэш, но не больше.
Единственное, что здесь является особенным, это не самый обычный колдаун на способностях, а их определённное количество. Условно, на уровень у тебя может быть 3 дэша и 3 глифа, что тоже совсем немножко разнообразит игру. Но это скорее костыль, а не реально проработанная механика, потому что в игре есть ситуации, когда тебе нужно прожать один и тот же скилл дважды, пока ты бегаешь по уровню. А если стояло бы обычное кд, то персонажа можно было бы быстро убить.
Но и это выходит боком, потому что персонаж моментами может быть не особо поворотлив и спокойно ловить маслину, из-за чего не всегда получается уворачиваться. А дэш, напоминаю, ограничен в использовании. Хотя и эту ситуацию спасает то, что в игре достаточно хорошо отсыпают доп энергией и здоровьем, благодаря чему в критический момент вы всё таки сможете использовать уворот или любой другой с кил. Но в тот же критический момент эта неповоротливость сыграет не в вашу пользу.

Он странный. Как буд-то не туда не сюда - не в эзотерику, не в киберпанк. Нечего сказать больше.

Ну и сюжетные линии героев... Я считаю важным про это сказать, потому что разработчики на странице игры утверждают, что он [i] ГлУбОкИй [/i]. Хотя на деле в игре почти нет сюжета. Максимум катсцена в начале игры, и катсцены в меню. На этом сюжет кончается. Максимум вы можете посмотреть одну из нескольких катсцен концовок, которые открываются при одном выполнении нужного для каждого ролика задания. Но это тоже выглядит просто как костыль.

Не рекомендую проект к покупке. Спокойно можно купить любой другой рогалик-шутер с видом сверху. Будет ощущаться более интересно.

P.S. Ну и от меня: [spoiler] Какая карточная система? Чуваки, вам просто вместо данжа с обычными локациями показали стол с картами, где ты абсолютнго так-же можешь куда-то пойти, а куда-то не пойти, и в от этого дуреете. Это буквально почти ни чем не отличается - ты лишь просто немного быстрее возвращаешься на локации, где ты оставил какой-то сундук и хочешь снова открыть или приходишь в магазин. Хотя в том же ETG ты можешь спокойно телепортироваться между комнатами, что почти никак не выделяет Leap of Fate в этом плане. [/spoiler]

Zamanında oynayıp eğlendiğim ama meraklısına keyif verebilecek bir yapım. Birçok yönden roguelite oyunlara önder olabilecek bir oyun iken bu kadar az bilinmesi roguelite janrasının daha geç popüler olmasına sebep oldu diyebilirim.

4 oynanabilir karakter ve her karakterin kendine ait ufak bir hikayesi olması, oyunun türkçe olması bu oyunu benim gözümde bir tık kayırmama sebep olabilir.

Ana fiyatı aşırı pahalı ama almak isteyen insanlar için %80 ve üstü indirimi beklemelerini söyleyebilirim.

the game has alot of promise. but there is two things that is mayor for me, atleast enough for me to not recommend it.

1. you dash towards your cursor and not where you direct the dash with your movement keys, atleast for keyboard and mouse. i.e if i hold down s+d, i would like to dash diagonally downwards. so i can shoot while dashing.

2. Last floor difficulty is just darker stage, so you cant see anything. i think taking away the players ability to see is just a poor game mechanic. there are better ways to up the difficulty.

The game has four characters, everyone with different arsenal and combat style , they also have different movement , and glyphs , weapons , the game is from 2016 ,so i give it a pass in terms of content.

The story of the characters are nice , the music is very hyped , and the game has a good atmosphere , the abilities and skill trees of the characters are fine.

It took way longer to get into this than I expected. It's a title that's somewhat hard to recommend, because I found the gameplay to be a bit on the boring side. It tries, but it has such a random method of quality that it's difficult to know if you're about to go into an area you'll enjoy or rather dislike.

But, in the end I'd say we don't have nearly enough Cyberpunk roguelikes so this is a decent time.

"Leap of Fate" is an older game from 2016. It's a venerable 8 years old at the time of this review. It's a 3D rendered 2D top down twin stick shooter with a "Shadowrun" kind of theme as you use magic to fight near future sci-fi style enemies, fair enough I guess. The game does work and it can be played, but I found the experience a little underwhelming.

On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers.

The controls and game handling are notably very clunky and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one.

Because this is designed for consoles, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. While this is certainly of higher quality than asset flips and other shovelware fake games intended purely to exist on Steam for cards, it's evident that trading cards are the only reason gamers look at this.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

"Leap of Fate" has the insane price of $16 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. Sixteen bucks for an 8 year old Playstation 4 game on PC. No thanks.

For comparison, the $16 asking price for this game could get you games like "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey", "Dishonored 2" or "Doom Eternal". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

Unfortunately Steam reviewers aren't presented with a "Maybe" option... if they did, that's what I'd choose. This isn't a completely bad game, but it's also not one of the best. As always, if you read my review and you can overlook the negatives I've called out, or they just aren't important to you, then by all means go ahead and buy this.

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Dieses Spiel war eine echte Überraschung...nachdem ich es aus einem spottbilligen Fanatical Bundle zusammen mit vielen anderen Spielen bekommen habe, habe ich nicht all zu viel erwartet. Aber Leap of Fate hat mich wirklich voll und ganz in seinen Bann gezogen und ich schreibe diese Rezension nun nach Mitternacht, nachdem ich das Spiel seit heute Nachmittag durchgesuchtet habe. Ursprünglich wollte ich das Spiel nur mal zum Spaß ausprobieren, weil das Setting reizvoll schien (Okkultismus, Verschwörungen - genau meine Themengebiete) aber geblieben bin ich dann letzten Endes auch wegen des Gameplays.

Die Story des Spiels kommt in kleinen Häppchen - sie wird vor einer schön gezeichneten Slideshow als Intro erzählt und gibt noch ein paar Sätze nach dem Sieg über Bossgegner, die je nach Charakter anders ausfallen - generell hat jeder der vier Charaktere seine eigene Story, aber alle Stories sind in einem ähnlichen Bereich angesiedelt - immer geht es um Intrigen, die Erlangung von okkultem Wissen und um Befreiungsschläge.
Die vier den Charakteren zugehörigen Stories haben mir eigentlich alle gut gefallen und durch das Abschließen des Spiels sowie durch die Erfüllung bestimmter Ziele kann man sogar noch alternative Enden freischalten.

Was das Gameplay betrifft so lag meine Präferenz ganz klar bei dem als letztes freizuschaltenden Charakter, Rasimov.
Man könnte meinen, dass dieser Charakter der schwerste Charakter ist, da man ja erst einen gewissen Fortschritt zu verzeichnen haben muss, um ihn überhaupt spielen zu dürfen - aber dem ist nicht so.
Ich persönlich finde, dass Rasimov deutlich einsteigerfreundlicher ist als der erste und die zwei zuvor freigeschalteten Charaktere. Zuerst dachte ich, dass die Besonderheit, dass Rasimov im Vergleich zu den anderen Charakteren sowohl in Geschäften als auch beim Freischalten von Fähigkeiten im Skilltree Leben anstelle der bei Kills durch Spezialfähigkeiten erzeugten Währung ausgeben muss, eine echte Schwierigkeit darstellen würde...aber nein, tatsächlich war das Gegenteil der Fall - hat man erst einmal durch das Meistern von Aufgaben, die alle individuell auf jeden Charakter maßgeschneidert sind, dauerhafte Boni für den jeweiligen Charakter freigeschaltet wird Rasimov zu einer wahren Bestie.
Denn dann bekommt man jedes Mal wenn man Leben opfert, egal in welchem Kontext, statt nur einer Lebensladung gleich die dreifache Lebensladung! Und wenn man diesen Mechanismus geschickt einsetzt kann man ohne Ende neue Skills im Skilltree freischalten und Geschäfte aufkaufen.
Während ich mir also an dem ersten Charakter, Aeon, wirklich die Zähne ausgebissen habe, machten die Durchgänge mit dem rasant stärker werdenden Rasimov einen Heidenspaß. Besonders befriedigend war das Gefühl, dass die geschickte Planung, welche Karten man zuerst betritt und wann man welche Truhe öffnet, nach und nach den Weg zum Ziel pflasterte.
Ich liebe Roguelikes, die so clever strukturiert sind, dass man nicht nur Geschick im Kämpfen oder in Jump n Run Passagen beweisen (Jump n Run Passagen sind hier keine vorhanden, lediglich Fallen, denen man aus dem Weg gehen sollte, wenn man keinen Skill freigeschaltet hat, der Fallen harmlos macht), sondern auch seine Logik- bzw. Taktikfähigkeiten bemühen muss. Dieses Gefühl habe ich beim Spielen von Binding of Isaac gehabt, da es dort sehr wichtig war, wann / in welcher Reihenfolge man welchen Raum betritt, wann man welche Karten einsetzt, welche Items man sich besser für später aufhebt usw. - dieses Gefühl habe ich genauso auch bei diesem Spiel, insbesondere bei Rasimov, und das ist für mich ein echtes Roguelike-Qualitätsmerkmal!
Warum sich die Entwickler entschieden haben, dass man zwangsläufig das Spiel mit dem langweiligsten der vier Charaktere starten muss, ist mir unklar. Da der erste Eindruck ja sehr entscheidend sein kann und ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass ich nicht die einzige bin, die drauf und dran war das Spiel desinteressiert zu beenden, weil der erste Charakter einfach nur öde und noch dazu ziemlich schwierig für einen Neueinsteiger ist.
Jeder der vier Charaktere hat neben einem individuellen Angriffsmuster auch noch eine eigene Glyphe. Glyphen sind Spezialfähigkeiten, die alle eine unterschiedliche Ladungsanzahl haben, die definiert, wie oft man sie auf einer Kampf-Karte einsetzen darf.
Der Startercharakter Aeon hat eine extrem schlechte Glyphe, die teils wirkungsloser ist als der einfache Angriff, mit dem man unbegrenzt umherballern kann. Nun könnte man sagen, dass es dann ja ausreichen würde diesen einfachen Angriff zu nutzen, aber das wäre ja nicht nur öde sondern auch für den weiteren Spielverlauf nicht gerade zuträglich.
Denn leider muss man die Glyphen neben dem Schattenlauf (ein Sprint durch die Feinde, den man im Skilltree mit Zusatzeffekten ausbauen kann und den jeder Charakter hat), der ebenfalls eine limitierte Anzahl von Verwendungen hat, zwangsläufig einsetzen, wenn man mit den ersten drei Charakteren stärker werden möchte, denn sonst wird die Währung, die man zum Freischalten von neuen Skills bei diesen drei Charakteren benötigt nicht generiert und dann schaut man schnell in die Röhre und der Charakter bleibt ein Schwächling, der es niemals bin in die tiefsten Höllenkreise schaffen würde. Natürlich findet man im Laufe des Spiels glücklicherweise neue Glyphen, durch die man die alte Glyphe austauschen kann (es gibt insgesamt 23 an der Zahl, die zweimal verbessert werden können und dadurch neue Stärkungen erhalten), aber bis es soweit ist vergeht etwas Zeit und in der Zeit muss man bestensfalls schon genug Punkte gesammelt haben, damit man sich im Geschäft und im Fähigkeitenbaum wenigstens irgend etwas leisten kann.
Aber bis auf diese Tatsache, dass die Anfängerglyphen von Aeon und Mukai eine etwas fragwürdige Effizienz aufzuweisen haben, finde ich einige der 23 Glyphen sehr interessant und sehr passend zu der zugrundeliegenden Verschwörungsthematik, wie z.B. die portable HAARP-Anlage und die Herbeirufung von Aliens zur Entführung der Feinde.
Wie ihr merkt hat dieses Spiel mehr Tiefgang als man anfangs aufgrund des sehr unbekannten Entwicklerstudios und des niedrigen Preises vermuten könnte. Man hat, um es hier noch einmal übersichtlich aufzulisten:

- 4 Charaktere, die sich alle sehr unterschiedlich spielen und dadurch komplett andere Herangehensweisen erfordern
- 23 interessante, erweiterbare Glyphen
- 3 Skilltrees, die bei jedem Durchgang neu angeordnet werden
- den Schattengang, eine Art Sprint, die neben den normalen Angriffen und Glyphen eingesetzt werden und in diverser Hinsicht modifiziert werden kann
- eine Map, die aus Spielkarten besteht, die bei jedem Durchgang komplett neu zusammengewürfelt ist und die Kampfkarten, Geschäfte und Herausforderungen enthält (und manchmal auch Flüche bzw. Segen)
- übergeordnete, charakterspezifische Challenges, die einem stets zu fordern wissen
- variierende Bosse: wie bei Binding of Isaac gilt es am Ende der Ebene je nach Spieldurchgang einen unterschiedlichen Boss zu bezwingen

Wie ihr seht hat dieses Spiel eigentlich alles was ein gutes Roguelike ausmacht und ich kann absolut nicht verstehen, warum dieses Spiel nicht bekannter ist und es doch so einige negative Reviews gibt.
Mich hat das Spiel sehr begeistert und ich bin inzwischen schon so einige Roguelikes gewohnt, da ich die letzte Zeit in einem regelrechten Roguelike-Rausch war. Gespielt habe ich unter anderem Binding of Isaac, Dead Cells, Dreamscaper, Neon Abyss, Hades, Curse of the Dead Gods und Rogue Legacy. Also wie ihr seht hab ich mittlerweile schon einiges gesehen und viele mögen es vielleicht nicht glauben aber: Leap of Fate hat mir viel mehr Freude bereitet als Hades und Rogue Legacy, obwohl diese beiden Spiele viel bekannter und viel beliebter sind.
Es ist wirklich schade, dass dieses Spiel nicht mehr Anerkennung bekommt, daher war es mir ein Anliegen, ein Lob auszusprechen und potentiellen Interessenten eine Übersicht zu liefern, was dieses Spiel besonders macht.

I love this game. I'm a huge fan of rogue likes, and this one somehow went completely under the radar. It has an excellent theme and story. It reminds me of the cinematic scenes of the older twisted metal games. It ramps up in difficulty just enough to get you hooked without making you rage, before it gets you completely invested. The level system is awesome. You can always go back to a previous "card" which is a stage within the level. So if you had a health pickup drop but you were full health, you can always go and grab it before completing the entire level/deck.

Хороший и динамичный рогалик, затягивающий. Присутствует сюжет и разные открываемые концовки. В целом очень легкий , после открытия новых персонажей и их прокачки. Последний из них - дикая имба, для того чтобы выполнять ряд достижений и пылесосить карту.
Выполнение всех достижений в игре растянуло время пребывания в ней раза 4-5.
Часто после часа игры начинает фризить на секунду при спавне мобов, немного напрягает, в теории может заруинить забег, но благо перекачу персов это почти нереально

Edit: Okay, I have since fixed and been playing this game and have beaten it with Big Mo. So for those who has the weird freezes and stutters in the game, just continue to unlock the rest of the characters and the game will sort of fix itself.

Now as for the game, would I recommend it? Yes, if you don't mind some issues with the game's visuals and I'm not talking about the dated(?) graphics. The foreground visuals blends in with the backgrounds at times. Because of that, you're going to get hurt or even die a lot from attacks and projectiles that you can't see coming towards your playable characters. Even the playable characters will blend in the levels which will make confusing at times to maneuver them in the arena. The only way to circumvent that is to complete those mini-missions within your runs and unlock the color swaps for the playable characters in the game. Couple with fighting group of enemies in arenas with narrow paths, this is not a game for the temperamental ones.

Seriously, there's a fun yet challenging gameplay loop to be experienced if you don't mind dying to bulls**t stuff occasionally.

pros : easy to pick up (rather simple gameplay) ; if things get stale, you can always change characters. the characters feel different with distinct story lines.

cons : got frame rate drops every once in awhile, making this hard game even more unnecessarily challenging (there are bullet hell moments). tho the characters are different, you are gonna be kiting away the same. kite kite kite away !

all in all... it's hard to recommend this simple, grindy gameplay loop.

I want to recommend it, I really do.
However, there is a massive performance issue i've been getting which causes the game to freeze/stutter for 1-2sec roughly every ~10 seconds, which has gotten me killed or severely injured several times now. My PC should NOT be having performance issues and I've tried going through the very limited settings menu but nothing fixes it.
Maybe get it on sale and see if you get the same issue I guess.

I played this game on and off through the years but never for long, because plainly, it isn't much fun.
And I think the crux of 'not much fun' lies in the way dash/shadow walk works, i.e. very limited amount of dashes allowed (how much - varies per character) and while these dashes regenerate each combat, once you run out in the combat you can only rely on a randomly dropped resource, and if you didn't collect any, you are sheer out of luck.

Dashes are important because you are often put into a very tiny map with a loads and loads of enemies spawning from all directions in each wave, and past level 1 all them either faster than you, bigger than you (so they can box you into a corner if you aren't careful) or shoot farther than you - less limited dash would have helped to get out of situation stacked against you from the start, but no, it can only be used a few times. Doesn't help that dash is executed into the direction you are facing (and not in the direction you are currently moving), which means that often you dash right into a centre of the horde; there is an update tree which allows for it to become a dive bomb but because update trees are fully randomized, you might not get those abilities until much later if at all.

Updates are fully randomized. The game uses card-based layout, similar to "Hand of Fate", but not only update cards random, each of them might be only updating one or two of the three types of skills (passive, mobility or active) and you'd never know which update you'd luck upon on this level, so any tactical build-building is out of window. Update cards also only allow to update one single skill even if you have souls/health to spare, which is again, not very fun and feels very limiting for no reason. Skill trees are also randomized upon each death, so it is randomized skill tree on top of randomized update card on top of randomized layout.

People compared it to shmop - I don't know about that, but I 100% know that playing aggressive in this game is near impossible, and all I could do is backpedal and shoot backwards, like in a bad Serious Sam-like game; again, given that enemies come from all directions, and on tiny maps, the constant kiting is not fun.

Layout is in cards and there are total of 6 stages each ending in Guardian (a boss). Actually I like card layout idea because you can always revisit the previously beaten card (as long as you stay on the same stage), game graciously highlights unopened chests or leftover health, so there is some strategy in how to progress through the layout, rudimentary it might be.

You progress is wiped out on defeat - there is an (costly) option to continue, but even if you have enough currency to do so, you can again, only use it once, which is needlessly stingy. Permanent unlocks for each character happen from fulfilling a 'mission' - a random, overarching challenge which could be, for example, survive three combat cards on level 2 or update 8 skills before level 3 (and remember, update cards are entirely random) or kill X enemies, but also can be way more esoteric or impossible to do if gods of randomness decide against you. The more you progress the harder stage the missions demand, so you'd find yourself going again and again through early stages just to get to the stage where you mission goal might even happen.

Game gives four characters, each with their own type of weapon, speed, amount of health, amount of dashes and amount of special attacks (glyph, which work in a similarly limited way to dashes and draw on the same random resource pool once exhausted in the fight). You start with Aeon, the balanced option, and subsequently unlock a slow heavy with overheating beam (Big Mo), fragile speedster with rather close range attack (Mukai) and another rather balanced but more advanced option with flamethrower-like blood spray and unique mechanic of using his own health as a currency for updates (Rasimov). Each of the three later characters unlock sequentially as a part of the previous character's permanent unlocks, so good luck grinding missions until you get that far, (especially on Mukai who has a survival potential of wet tissue). Different characters all do have unique abilities which vary their gameplay but I hit plateau around stage 3 and couldn't progress much further, so I cannot say how well or differently they play on later stages.

(stage environments are a little odd: stage 1 is urban decay streets, stage 2 are labs, stage 3 is some kind of gilded cultic halls and stage 4 is... clowns? why clowns?)

I cannot expect from the game that came way before "Hades" to handle story progression just as well as "Hades" does, so upon unlocking each character you are given a nice cutscene setting them and their backstory up, and then upon completing each stage you get a random (and often repeating) tidbit about them along with a free update from an eyeball man. So instead of the story being a motivator for the unfun and restrictive grind, my only hope is to get to the stage 6 and see if I get any other cutscene. A few more tidbits are given as an epitaph for stages. Even with this little, the world itself is set well – occulto-cyberpunk with at least one secret society – and I do want to know more about it, but going over and over and over through early stages so just to get to the stage where missions might happen and then be screwed by random, by hordes of enemies who are all more and faster and more difficult and (unlike in shmops, don't die in one hit) is definitely not my idea of a good game.

(Rasimov is the only person who looks like he is having fun in all of that).

Also, when I play more than about 1-2 stages in a row, the game starts to stutter, even on a modern computer, which is, in game, often a death sentence or a lot of health lost for no fault of mine.

I wish that game to be rescued, rebalanced and reworked. I would dearly love a good CRPG set in that world as I want to know about what happened to Aeon, Big Mo, Mukai and Rasimov. But as it is, I cannot recommend. By this point of time, there are much, much better rogue-likes with much better mechanics and less unfair tedious fruitless grind than "Leap of Fate".

Gerçekten eğlenceli ve ilgi çekici bir oyun olur kendileri . Oyunda dört karakter bulunmakta ve diğer 3 karakteri açmamız için çeşitli görevleri yapmamız gerekli. Yapısı gereği hızlı akan bir oyun ve tek bir hatanız oyunun en baştan başlamasına neden olabiliyor! Her karakterin güçleri / silahları ve oynanışı farklı , her birinin farklı yetenekleri var ve bunları açmak ise kolay değil. Leap of Fate , benim için farklı tarzı ve eğlenceli , akıcı oyun yapısıyla çok iyi bir oyun. Yarım saat oynayıp çıkılacak cinsten , kolay bir oyun değil bunu unutmayın!
Oyunun Steam'in derinliklerinde kalmış , ses çıkaramamış oyunlarından biri olması üzücü. 2016'da çıkmış olmasına rağmen sadece 311 incelemesi mevcut. Kesinlikle deneyin.

Если Вам нравится коротать время, убивая мобчиков и подбирая билды, то советую обратить внимание на данный проект.

Геймплейно игра представляет из себя роглайк-арена-шутер в котором мы телепортируемся на арену, зачищаем ее и так до финала. Прохождение разделено на 6 уровней, в каждом из которых необходимо победить Хранителя (босса), чтобы открыть проход на дальше.
Боссы разнообразны и уникальны, так как на каждом уровне есть по несколько видов, отличающихся паттернами атак и поведением.
Играбельных персонажей 4, также уникальных и разнообразных, со своими особенностями, как в плане геймплея, так и в плане подхода к прокачке скиллов.

Сюжет - Подается микро-заставками для каждого героя и рассказывает о его судьбе. В целом - неплохо, для такого рода игры.

Графически - Я бы сказал, что игра слабовата. Картинка замылена и имеются регулярные фризы спустя +- час игры, из-за чего приходится перезаходить. Крайне рекомендую использовать SweetFX для создания более приятной картинки.

Аудио составляющая также могла быть более разнообразной, ибо наскучивает очень быстро.

К минусам стоит отнести:
1) Порой очень кривые хитбоксы и регистрацию попаданий (а-ля получение урона за 2 корпуса от персонажа и его не регистрация во врагов, так как ты держишь прицел на нем, а он якобы выше или ниже).
2) Иногда выбор цветов уровня и снарядов околоидентичны, отчего в пылу сражения банально невозможно увидеть летящий в тебя урон, что ведет к рестарту.
3) Невероятное количество рандома. Я понимаю, что это суть рогаликов, но тут рандомно буквально все - от выпавших карт и наград с них до расположения и стоимости умений в ветках прокачки (больше всего раздражает, что может выпасть 2 баффа урона подряд, отчего ты пролетишь до финального акта без затруднений, а может не выпасть даже на последней локации и сиди - изобретай велосипед).
4) Полнейший дизбаланс в плане навыков и ультимейтов (глифов). Есть мастхэв умения и есть полнейший мусор, также как и глифы.
5) Отсутствие вариативности в ветках прокачки. Вытекает из предыдущих пунктов. К сожалению, собрать интересный билд какой-то определенной направленности вряд ли получится ввиду огромного рандома и бесполезности большинства перков.
6) Малое количество музыки и ее разнообразия. Хотелось бы индивидуальный и запоминающийся эмбиент под каждую из локаций, подчеркивающий их особенности.
7) Локации, созданные по 1 шаблону и различающиеся (по ощущениям от их прохождения) разве что цветовой гаммой.

Итог - Игра не лишена недостатков, однако играть в нее все же приятно. Если хочется скоротать время, то эта игра - вполне неплохой вариант. Ну и любители/эксперты рогаликов, скорее всего, дадут более полную оценку.

Oyunun bendeki en büyük artılarından biri türkçe desteğinin bu kadar başarılı bir şekilde uygulanmış olması. Oyunumuz bir hayatta kalma oyunudur ve ölmenizle birlikte herşey baştan başlamaktadır. Tek artı yanınız, bölüm geçme sırasında bitirmiş olduğunuz ek görevler sayesinde gelen küçük güçlendirmeler. Onun dışındaki herşey, her öldüğünüzde sıfırlanmaktadır. Tamamen şansınıza göre çıkan rakip kartları ve dükkan/geliştirme kartları ile oyunun sonuna ilerlemeye çalışıyorsunuz. Bu ilk başta saçma gelebilir ama oyunun mantığını çözdüğünüz zaman oldukça keyifli olmaya başlıyor. Tabi ne kadar keyifli olursa olsun bir noktadan sonra özellikle ilk iki bölümü oynamak çok sıkıcı gelmeye başlıyor.

Leap of Fate is a fast and furious roguelite shooter that doesn't try too hard and that's why it works so well for me. The game is not perfect by any means: the UI is very barebones, movements are floaty, mouse crosshair has some annoying lag, most of the graphics are lowpoly models that look like they were lifted off an asset store and the gameplay is nothing new. But it succeeds where many other roguelites have failed, the game is fun enough, and one of the best roguelites I've played.
The full price is a bit high, so buy it on a good sale.
The gameplay is simple, yet will easily deliver more than a dozen hours of good fun in a perfect mix of grind and skill training.
The story is grimdark and there are little comic vignettes that wrap the whole thing nicely. In fact, this game is reminiscent of those edgy low quality comics that were trendy in the 1990s.
I wish more videogames were so self-aware.

Ребята, это прямо очень крутая игра! Причем в ней хорошо прямо всё, придраться вообще не к чему. Геймдизайнерам моё глубочайшее почтение, всё сделано очень грамотно: персонажи очень разнообразные, миссии ненавязчиво учат тебя куче разных механик, рогаликовая часть даёт именно такое разнообразии какое нужно.

An action roguelike that respects you as a player. I love that you can revisit rooms that had loot you couldn't previously access on a level. Earn a key for a chest and backtrack to claim it. No other roguelike that I know of with branching paths lets you do this. Love the style and esoterica. Feels like playing a lucid dream.

interesting lore but inconsistent quality in the art, meh gameplay. There are far better games of the same genre for the same price or much cheaper. Don't see why this is tagged "cyberpunk", it's not at all...

Also, very infuriating you can not dash in the movement direction, you have to aim it with your mouse... Except you are always aiming at your enemies with your mouse and running in the opposite direction (or side-stepping), so it would be much more natural that it dashes in your current direction

Я понимаю, ребят... я понимаю, что, может это я - криворукий, и это фиксится двумя нажатиями, либо просто зависит от конфигурации железа, но... Технические проблемы - всё ещё проблемы. Уж простите, но я реально стараюсь играть, потею, строю какие-то билды, дохожу так прилично до боссов, до 6-го акта на харде. А для чего? Чтобы меня убило во время лага на секунду-две? Играл вроде как, ещё на прошлом железе, и там тоже лагало прям один в один.
До этого, я помню были траблы с глифом, который нужен для ачивки, окей. А если я вернулся к игре через недели две или просто хочу знать, какой глиф мне осталось получить? Может и пофиксили проблему, может и нет, я не знаю. Фэндом вики по игре тоже нет, форум отправляет в сообщество стима, руководств нет по ачивкам.
Понятно, что есть и светлые моменты, это музыка, тематика, реиграбельность и т.д., но минусы делают реиграбельную (!) игру... казалось бы.... что может пойти не так... а вот делают её неиграбельной, представьте себе.
Что ещё... Хотелось бы отметить, что испытания "последний выживший", "неисправный глиф" и то, что на время... это ад. Я их проходил, даже без потерь, но дальше третьего уровня с посредственным глифом это прям как в кипящее масло прыгнуть.

Again, I wish Steam would change the binary system of rating, it's never fair.
Either because giving a negative rating to this game seems quite harsh for me as it's only a mediocre game, not a bad one.
But giving a positive rating wouldn't neither be fair, as it's not a great game and I feel quite disappointed.
I'm thinking of a refund but I'll keep it just to unlock the characters and as I paid very little for the game, I prefer to give the devs some support, hopefully they'll come up with something better some day.
This is a very simplistic game, the general game design is quite bland, the level design is beyond boring and the combat is way too repetitive. The enemies AI is pretty much non existent, as they simply run towards you at different speeds, shooting different shapes of projectiles, all with the same effects and ways to deal with.
The decks system is pointless, and the menu and information on screen is a bit confusing.
On the positive side, it's ok for a relaxed play for a while, while you're still collecting the characters and upgrading, but to be honest, playing a dull game to get more characters and upgrade them to keep playing a dull game is not much of an incentive.
The controls are not terrible, but the controller is quite wasted, many of the buttons have no use, they could have used to make the combat more varied and dynamic.
The graphics are very outdated, I actually thought they were set in minimum by default when I first played, but when i checked the options they were all at high.
In the end, the big problem is the bad level design and the lack of level progress, everything feels the same and there's nothing to discover as you advance, besides the character's upgrades.
I wouldn't recommend this game, but I feel bad for giving it a negative review. Still, this is the system that Steam uses, I hope someday they change it.

It's a game where you die and start again, but it has a very different aspect. You proceed by choosing according to the cards, I like that very much. You also play the story of 4 different characters and each character's development is different. I recommend a good game.

Mildly underwhelming. It's ultimately a good game, but there are much better roguelikes out there. It doesn't feel like there's a lot of options in terms of builds and the difficulty is far too low in my opinion. I would give it a middle thumb if I could. Buy it on sale.

挺好玩的较简单节奏非常快一把30分钟左右
个人不太适应这个屏幕震动（也无法取消）
玩个2把熟悉怪物以后就可以随意通关
5-6把后开了困难模式就可以解锁完一个角色的所有东西了

If you like roguelikes, you will probably enjoy this, However personally I do not enjoy roguelikes and I think they are just a cheap way for devs to artificially lengthen a game by switching balance with cheap deaths. The game has a cool modern day occult lore (think Secret World), and the characters all play differently, but at the end of the day, its a roguelike, you will play a level or two and die and loose everything and have to start from the start, you can unlock a few permanent passive by clearing objectives, but the more you play... the harder it will be to actually do them, as they get more demanding (ex make it to last stage without getting hit).

Its a shame, this would had been an awesome twin stick shooter RPG with great characters, lore and level up system, but instead the developer decided to take the lazy route and just have you die over and over until you eventually get good luck and get all the power ups by the roll of the dice (or cards in this instance) that will give you a chance to actually beat the game.

I got to follow the early development of the game when it was first announced and even play an early build of it at a Indie Game festival.

This game is my go to" comfort" game when I don't really know what else to play. I really enjoy the twin stick shooter gameplay with the replayability of the roguelite elements. The style of it being all edgy and steampunk I really like. You got variety in gameplay in the characters, the enemies and stages.

Honestly, I'm just really happy for the devs cause I basically played it before it got released officially and I had a really good time with the game. It's probably my favourite indie game and I recommend it when I can.

Sometimes in life there are budget games that nail a certain type of atmosphere or as ports from the early mobile boom jump the gun of later defined works, but if you lucked out on them at the time of the Apple mobile boom, you might not get what that game meant until many years later. Leap of Fate is one such IOS app port that came over in 2016, it's basically a fanboy's love of the old Mage RPG from the 90's World of Darkness just paired way down and ported down into a mobile guantlet clone. Hence the fast paced small themed levels with quick branching cards and a rando mutation stat maker. And because it IS a mobile port there's a lot of the usual off bits of occasionally wonky hit detection, not a lot of enemy variety. But for a quick spliff if you get it under 5$ it can be good for a quick spin for an hour or two of fun.

Is this as good as the Hand of Fate Games? No it's not and can't because it's an arcade game with mutators and not a more in depth roguelike. Just don't get fooled into getting it on full price.

Наишикарнейший рогалик с динамичными боями и необычной смесью магии и киберпанка. У нас есть четыре мага (сначала один, в процессе игры открываются остальные) с разными способностями, целями и стилями игры. Наша цель - пройти через Горнило Судеб, магический полигон для испытаний талантов магов, и узнать свою судьбу.
Горнило представляет собой шесть арен-уровней: городские улицы, секретная лаборатория, башня магов, прошлое, настоящее и будущее (забвение). На каждом из уровней раскладывается рандомная колода с боями, испытаниями, апгрейдами, подарками и пр. Нужно дойти до низа колоды, отыскать карту Хранителя, победить его и перейти на следующий уровень. На каждом уровне свои противники, особенности окружения и тактики.
Бои протекают очень динамично и немного напоминают старую игру "Crimsonland": на нас со всех сторон несутся толпы противников, мы мечемся по карте и уничтожаем их самыми разными способами. В нашем распоряжении: базовая атака (разная у каждого мага), глифы (по одному базовому у каждого мага и около 20 штук приобретаемых, с разнообразным действием, от классического призыва голема или метеоритного дождя до похищения противников инопланетянами), Призрачный Ветер (местный аналог телепортации, при должной раскачке становится грозным оружием), взрывы интерактивного окружения. В общем, всё происходит очень быстро и не расслабляет ни на секунду.
У каждого мага есть перманентные апгрейды, открывающиеся при выполнении мини-заданий в игре и сохраняющиеся на протяжении всего прохождения. Также во время каждого "забега" мы прокачиваем героев рандомно выпадающими способностями (на выбор), изменяющимися от игры к игре. Все они относительно универсальны, но, так как каждый маг имеет предрасположенность к определённому стилю игры (к примеру, у Аэона хорошие бонусы к Призрачному Ветру, а Большой Мо наносит мощный урон базовой атакой), то раскачивать лучше навыки, соответствующие этому стилю. Всего имеется три ветки навыков: "тело" - прокачка урона базовой атаки, автоатаки, дроны, увеличение ёмкости глифа и т.д.; "ноги" - раскачка Призрачного Ветра (поджог, выстрелы, приманки, страх и пр.) и "голова" - манипуляции с колодой, увеличение здоровья и скорости и др.
Для каждого из героев имеется пять абсолютно разных и не связанных друг с другом концовок. Две из них даются за прохождение игры на нормальном и тяжёлом уровнях сложности, другие три открываются при выполнении определённых условий в процессе игры или нескольких игр.
В общем, это прекрасный, динамичный и нескучный рогалик с интересным геймплеем. Однозначно рекомендую.

I honestly don’t even know where I got this game from. And when I took a glance at the shop’s screenshots I was like “Oh no…”. But this has been an incredibly positive surprise! Leap of Fate is waaay better than I expected. In fact, it is really cool!

In a top-down view you will fight against waves of enemies with your magic powers. The game is extremely fast paced, which makes it so good in my opinion. There are 6 card decks that you must pass, to win the game. Each card deck is randomly shuffled and contains lots of enemies, loot, gifts, challenges, skill tree upgrades and 1 boss card. Once you defeat the boss, you go to the next card deck. The game gets harder and harder with each card deck. You can choose if you want to collect items and power up your skill tree, or if you will go straight to the boss (if you manage to find him quickly). I really enjoyed this concept. The fact that you can influence your play style is a good design choice.

Also, there are 4 playable characters (three of them which must be unlocked). Each one has his own story and unique powers. This means the game basically never gets boring. You have 4 playstyles (because of the character variety and their differences) and the rounds are randomly generated (even though the 6 stages have their level design that won’t change).

I also like that the game gets really difficult. It is not easy to beat the game, as you aren’t allowed to die a single time. If you die once, the game is over and you need to restart it, until you accomplish the 6 stages (you can buy 1 extra life per run, but it is very expensive). Nevertheless, you have a health bar and you can upgrade it (this is very luck-based though). In my opinion, the combination of skill and luck is perfectly balanced in Leap of Fate.

This game has a lot of good elements but the gameplay falls flat so hard for me.

The fights are your typical, basic, run and gun twin sticks shooter. There are limited abilities and some ways to combo them (well at least 1 I found) but 90% of the gameplay will be running away while attacking. The melee units will usually hit you as soon as you enter their range making it impossible to dodge or outplay them in any way beyond teleporting away when you're about to get cornered. The ranged units are a little more enjoyable to fight but between your projectiles, the mana particles dropping around and the various explosion and area abilities happening, it can be very easy to lose track of the projectiles coming toward you. The bosses are also very boring. They have one or two moves and a large hp bar. That's it.

It's a shame because I like the theme of the game and the lore. I like the cards layout and how you can quickly go back to a previous level to pick up or buy something. The progression system with the missions is pretty good too. But none of that really matters because I feel like I'm playing a way below average twin-stick shooter.

[h1] Довольно своеобразный ролевой рогалик в якобы киберпанковском антураже, который стилистически больше похож на произведения по Shadowrun, а в игровом процессе это просто аренный боевик с прокачкой [/h1]

И вот стилистически тут можно придраться только к названию, которое ну вообще ничего не говорит... LEAP OF FATE - прыжок веры. Куда прыжок? Зачем прыжок? Какой веры? И всё в таком духе. Из-за этого игра выглядит какой-то безликой.

И в плане жанра для игры авторы выбрали уже довольно приедающийся жанр рогалика, где придётся постоянно умирать во время прохождения однообразных локаций для постоянного повышения уровня. То есть в начале главный персонаж по сути выглядит обрубком, куда нужно в процессе довинтить так называемые аугментации для продвижения дальше и уничтожения более тяжёлых врагов.

[h1] Оформление и игровой процесс [/h1]
Хотя проработка оформления просто выше всяких похвал, но игра всё равно выглядит какой-то невыразительной. Мелодии бомбезные и подобраны со смыслом. Гитарные запилы между уровнями вроде обещают что-то эпохальное, но по факту просто носишься по арене и пытаешься собрать крохи маны (местной валюты - её по традиции никогда не бывает с избытком). Уровни генерируются случайным образом, как и содержимое магазинов + улучшения. Это всё носит случайный характер и особые удары для производства маны имеют ограниченное количество. Обычные удары тут бесконечные и ману они не генерируют, по крайней мере до получения улучшения. Так что мана тут на вес золота.

- Есть некоторый элемент однообразия
- При продвижении к более высоким уровням, враги становятся всё жирнее и чувствуется больше ничтожности в главном персонаже
- Однообразные безликие враги, сделанные по методу клонирования

Ya, its wortwhile.

I like how you progress through missions and not just by bluntly grinding. The challenge this game offers is not a hard one at first. Whats to know is that this is more of a Rogue-LITE. Finishing missions adds to a counter for each of the 4 playable classes that you have to unlock with - you guessed it - finishing missions.

And good job on the sound.

Overall this game is promising for now. Gonna stick to it for a while and gotta say that this indie title is one of the best i had in months and it certainly dont write much positive reviews.

Well this wasn`t the game I thought it was. I half expected a Jrpg considering the name and picture but nope it`s a twin-stick rogue-like using a dealt card deck for each combat encounter with the usual standard upgrades.
The thing that hurts it the most is the unimaginitive and simpiistic levels. Each combat zone is a small arena with barriers and you dash about and kill the enemies and that`s about it. Object corners can feel a bit `sticky` making levels a bit awkward to traverse and like a lot of these games you spend a fair chunk of time running backwards and shooting. It also has a shadow dash to hurt enemies which is nifty but hardly new except you dash to your cursor position, not a set distance which is a bit weird. After each full level you fight a boss, upgrade and ascend to the next level.
There are just so many better examples of this genre now that it feels a bit lacklustre in comparison. It`s not bad by any means and I enjoyed what i played but this will go back to the pile for now until I dig it out again at some point, maybe.

Fun twin-stick type roguelite with multiple characters with temporary and permanent upgrades. I especially like how each "level" is displayed via playing cards and how the camera zooms into each card when starting. Decent amount of loot and boosts to keep me coming back more and more.

Kite backwards and shoot the game.

Cool powers but you have a limited use. Could be okay except some of the challenges are DONT USE POWERS. That's the opposite of fun and engaging.

Upgrades don't seem to have a lot of options, each 3 sets has a narrow path and you can't even pick what kind of upgrade you get. Trying to play BIG MO and they keep wanting to make my decoy power kill people, but then what do I do with my big stupid grenade power? Also accidently picking up a glpyh replaces your cool power that syndergizes with the jump.

Also, walking around an empty level sucks, why do I have to walk to pick up a chest/health/mana? Just give it to me. Walking is boring and I can't just spam out my cool jump because it costs power.

Also level selecting is pointless, no options.

This game is simple but good.

Not much to say other than it is a nice little gem with a few flaws but well worth the time.
