A lot of reviews say this game is easy, and yeah the storymode is. Infinite lives, generous checkpoints, about 2 hours runtime, it's pretty chill. What they don't mention is Time Attack mode, unlocked after the first run. Now you're on a STRICT time limit and suddenly every mistake sets you back significantly. It's an obscene bump in difficulty, but getting to know a level so well you can feel the rhythm of the inputs.. the game truly shines here. mostly. Worth a shot on sale.

Dieses Spiel hat den Beat gepachtet! Schon allein die Titelmusik is ein Banger und der Rest knallt auch ordentlich rein. Nur am Ende der ersten Spinnennestpassage war es für mich etwas schwierig, trotz der Taktvorgabe den richtigen Moment zu treffen. Alles in allem aber ein sehr rundes Game. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

Inside My Radio has a lot of strong points considering how short it is.

The general premise is that it's a rythm platformer. You've got basic left and right movement, as well as a dash, jump and ground slam. On every beat of the music, you have a brief window where you can perform a dash, jump or slam. Thankfully the levels are really well designed so that you can mostly just keep moving forward at a consistent pace without needing to stop and readjust your actions to the soundtrack.

There's also a few light combat elements, where you battle against small spiders and a few larger ones. These encounters are decent fun and make good use of your movement abilities (except the final boss fight, see below), essentially forcing you to time your attacks to the beat.

Additionally, the game has an extremely generous checkpoint system. You only ever lose a few seconds of progress at most, which helps to keep the game relaxing even if you consistently fail. The soundtrack is also expectedly pretty good.

The only real weakpoint is the final bossfight. You have to dodge falling projectiles in a restricted area for roughly a minute. There's no checkpoints, and only a single time where you need to use your movement abilities. It was very annoying, and very time consuming. The standard price for the game is also very expensive given its short length. I see no reason why IMR couldn't be beaten in under an hour. Definitely wait for a sale.

Got this as an early Christmas Gift.

I like the music, but from what little I have played it's not particularly enticing otherwise. Granted, I didn't get past the mission after Barry, but the movement kinda sucks, in my Rhythm Based Platformer, which is disappointing. I feel incredibly restricted, not able to jump properly every beat, dash on every beat, or overall engage in the mechanics to the fullest extent. It could stand to be snappier, with a faster fall and dash recovery to make it reasonable to enjoy the Rhythm aspect.

Granted, it's nearly a decade since this game was introduced to the world, so it's quite unlikely to see any meaningful improvements.

If I could make my review neither negative or positive, I would. To keep it short, it's not worth the full price, but if you get it for 80%+ off it's a great fun short experience. It doesn't have any replay value and is very easy in my experience, but has a lot of cool concepts.

В конце 90-х у меня как и у многих сверстников была мечта купить настоящий бумбокс. Правда когда я наконец накопил нужную сумму и приобрел заветное - весь переливающийся на CD дисках, во всех торговых палатках появились MP3. Тем не менее благодаря Seaven Studio и их игре я освежил в памяти знакомые термины. Теперь к сути, Inside My Radio это ритм игр все действия которой заточены на ваш слух. Хотя в принципе можно пройти и танком, но будет посложнее. К минусам отнесу смехотворную продолжительность и треть форму финального босса. Мало того, что она выбивается из лора игры так ещё и нарочита раздражающая вышла. Кто хочет настоящий вызов может попробовать миссии на время. К сомнительному плюсу отнесу возможность подгружать свою музыку, правда эффект получается на мой вкус ни о чем. Дальше рассусоливать смысла не вижу, поставлю 6.0. Рекомендую исключительно из-за нишевости жанра.

Inside My Radio is a disastrous and hamfisted attempt to make a hybrid Guitar Hero platformer, and it's predictably a train wreck. You know how the best parts about any platformer are tight, precision controls that make you feel great when you nail excellent platformer moves? The developers disagree and ripped that entire component out of their game design. The result is basically the absolute worst aspects of any platformer, combined with an utterly crap soundtrack and zero reason for anyone to ever want to play this.

But first, a quick note about how the developers intentionally went out of their way to make the game as inacessible and insulting as possible to members of the hearing impaired community. While it's understandable that people may not want to play audio focused games if they're going to experience difficulty with it, a developers professional duty includes making games as accessible as possible. Once more, the developers here disagree, going so far as to insult the deaf community by stealing their handicap symbol and using it for a "joke" achievement demanding you're not allowed to not hear the crap music in this crap game. You can see the developers have a disgusting attitude here, going out of their way to insult a section of the gaming community on purpose, being anti-ableist. This kind of thing is just not okay and it reflects poorly on the entire game development industry. They should be ashamed of themselves.

That aside, we can now review the litany of technical defects in this game, which are sure to warn away gamers from all walks of life.

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals.

The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.

In an attempt to excuse the low quality of delivery here, the game tries to make a big point of having a nice soundtrack (it doesn't, it's crap). If the business plan for a game is to compete with Spotify, which is free and has effectively unlimited music, all of which is better than the music here, it's failed before it even started. Gamers can listen to the Spotify for free. A game cannot be seen as recommendable just because it competes badly with listening to the radio or to MP3s.

Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.

Inside My Radio has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of $15 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. That's right, the developers think this garbage is better than Mass Effect. What a joke. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

16年买的，重新体验前当年的印象一直是一款“精彩的独立游戏”

但多年后再体验，却觉得鸡肋
首先是画面，没有很好的把握科幻感和细致度之间的平衡、使得整体有一种油腻感
然后是关卡，连续玩了半个小时、没有任何难度、到最后没有新鲜的元素进入就烦腻了
另外是节奏，和节奏地牢一样、只能一拍一拍的来，想做一拍内点2下的操作是不行的

Rhythm Platformers are a pretty fun genre combination in general, and in that sense this game succeeds. That being said, the game isn't very unique or innovative with the mechanic and the level design is overall pretty standard. I enjoyed my time with the game in the end though.

Çalan şarkılar ile bulmacaları çözmeniz gereken ve yaptığınız hareketleri ritme uydurmanız gereken, eğlenceli bir platform oyunu ama bazı mekanikleri çok kanser ediyor. Bu nedenle, oyunu zor bitirdim.

Mesela çalan müziğin bass vurduğu yerde, zıplama veya dash atma tuşuna basmanız lazım. Ancak tutturamazsanız karakter hareket etmiyor; bu da oyunu öldürüyor. Çok saçma olmuş çünkü oyun keyfini kaçırıyor. Kim 10-15 saniye boyunca atlamak için ritme uymaya çalışır ki? Oyundaki akıcılık duruyor.

Ritme göre hareket etmek kolay gibi görünüyor ama aşırı zorlaşıyor. Bazı müzikler saçma sapan, tutturayım derken 40 kere basmanıza rağmen ritim uyuşmuyor. Bir bakmışsın, 20 saniyedir atlamaya çalışıyorsun. Bazı bölümler ise çalan müzik kolay oluyor ve tek atıp kolayca yapıyorsunuz ama bazen müzikler ile hareketleri uyuşturmak çok zorlaşıyor. Özellikle boss bölümlerinde, anlık zıplayamayıp mal gibi kalınca sinir bozuyor.

Oyun çok kolay, bulmacalar hiç zor değil. Bulmaca oyunundan çok; "gir ve atmosferi deneyimle" oyunu gibi olmuş. Yürüye yürüye, kolayca bölümleri geçiyorsunuz. Bir tek boss fightlar biraz zor, onun sebebi ise anlattığım gibi dodge atmak için müziğin bass vurduğu bölümlerde, zıplamak veya dash atmak lazım ama uyuşturmak dediğim gibi çok zorlaşabiliyor. Bass vurduğu an tuşu denk getiremezseniz, hareket edemiyorsunuz ve ölüyorsunuz. Bu yüzden oyun insanı kanser ediyor çünkü tüm boss fight baştan başlıyor.

Bunlar dışında eğlenceli ve ilginç bölüm tasarımları gördüğüm güzel denilebilecek bir oyun.

Oyunun Artıları:
Müzikler ile bulmacaların eşleşme tasarımı çok hoş.
Cutscene gibi sahneler var; o müzik ve hareket uyumluluğu çok güzel.
Oyun zor değil ve hızlıca bitiyor.
Bölüm tasarımları çok ilginç ve daha önce gördüğüm platform oyunlarına hiç benzemiyor.
Kısa olduğu için sıkmadan eğlendiriyor.

Oyunun Eksileri:
Müzik ile uyumlu atlama ve dash atma yüzünden oyundan düşüyorsunuz.
En son boss fight 40 dakikamı aldı; aşırı zordu. Tüm oyun kolayken bu gereksiz olmuş.
Oyun aşırı kolay, bulmacalar 10 IQ ile çözülebilir.
Bir süre sonra oyun; yürü, zıpla ve dash at sıradanlığına giriyor. Sıkılıyorsunuz.

Alıp denemenizi öneririm. İlginç sahneler ve müzikle uyumlu platformlar yine de eğlendiriyor.

It's an interesting concept for a music-platformer hybrid, but it suffers from a lack of length for the price you're paying. There's only 6 levels (technically 12, according to the level select) and each one only takes about 10 minutes to finish. The game could have been made longer by introducing other levels that pertained to other genres of electronic music. The "performing actions on the beat" could have been implemented much better too. Being able to move freely while having other actions (jumps, dashes, etc) puts a large disconnect between you and the rhythm. Chaining your movement to the rhythm would definitely make it easier to navigate around.

Inside my radio : pourquoi et pourquoi pas ?

Le jeu est facile à prendre en main, même quand, comme moi, on a pas le sens du rythme.
Les musiques, soit la base du jeu en lui même, sont très bien produites et vous font taper du pied et hocher la tête tout du long, chacun trouvera un morceau qui le marquera c'est certain.
Les idées de gameplay sont nombreuses et enrichissent l'expérience même si....

2 heures pour terminer le jeu. "Non mais allo quoi ?"
A peine le temps de s'échauffer, de prendre le pli des différents tempos et patatra, c'est la fin !
D'autant que, même si l'ambiance sonore et visuelle fonctionnent à merveille, coté script, c'est les vacances...

Quel dommage, @Seaven Studio par pitié, UNE SUITE !! (une vraie)

Inside My Radio-A game based on reaction and rhythm. When listening to music, you need to jump to the beat, move to the rhythm, play the rhythm. This is just a great game, the analogues of which I have not seen yet. I was very pleased with the cool soundtrack (it simply cannot be bad for a game of this format), excellent graphics, but the game is rather short, which is sad. Cards, achievements and Russian, everything is in place.
Worth taking.

就来简单谈谈这款游戏吧。

1.首先是故事：
故事很简单，大概就是拯救“radio world”。总流程大概2~4h左右；
另外，此游戏虽然没中文，但里面单词很简单，所以不必担心语言障碍。
2.接着是核心玩法：
游戏难度整体适中，除了最后boss躲避球有点搞心态之外，踩点就完事了！（游戏设计人准备了贴心的[b]可视化节奏[/b]，手残党的福音~）
3.操作手感：
我前期用的是键鼠，就已经被其节奏感之强深深带入了，更不用说后期换成手柄了，那振动可谓绝拍！
4.最后是音乐与游戏场景：
作为一款音游，很好地将各具特色的音乐节拍与不同风格的游戏场景（包括背景动画、机关等）融为一体，它是成功的~

总结：
是一款优秀的独立音游，适合闲暇时间用来放松，顺便培养培养自己的节奏细胞也不错呢hhh~

Ein sehr gutes Spiel!
Dieses Spiel hat eine sehr gute Idee und diese ist super umgesetzt.
Außerdem ist sind die Level sehr gut aufgebaut und auch der Hintergrund ist immer schön anzuschauen. Die Story ist sehr schön auch wenn man sehr schnell damit durch ist.
Einziger Kritikpunkt ist das sich die Bosse heilen wenn man stirbt und es dadurch ziemlich anstrengend, nervig und zeitaufwendig werden kann.
Deshalb rate ich jedem zwischen durch auch mal eine Pause zumachen um wieder runter zukommen.

Ich persönlich würde mich sehr über eine Vorsetzung freuen, es kann ja auch ein andere Umgebung sein.

Good game loved the groovy funk part of the game the best before it was a mix of rock but, I will warn you all that the ending jumps in difficulty massive, I was rageing so hard at 2nd/3rd boss stage but hey took me two days but did it and yes mostly a short 2 hour game i am not interested in the time trails so i've skipped that it is a pretty chill game till the end like i've said.

Awesome little rhythm platformer, got a lot of charm to it, but maybe wait until a sale as the length of the game does not warrant the pricepoint. I got this on Fanatical in a random key bundle so I spent roughly 80p on this game and for that price it's a bargain.

Gra nawet mi sie podobała. Poziom trudności powiedziałbym 6/10 (nie jest łatwa ale też nie jest trudna) najciężej mi było w ostatniej walce (kto by sie spodziewał)
GamePlay? platformówka w której musimy pokonać ostatecznego bossa.
gre przeszedłem w 2,5 godziny jakoś więc gra jest krótka.
Co mi sie nie podoba? że krótka ale i tak fajna :D

[Pay$-to-Play] This is a rhythmic platformer game and the game is super dope!
To perform actions i.e. jump,dash you will have to time your timing and press the key according to the rhythm / beat

The soundtrack is super on point, some stages may be a little tricky but they can be brute-force (kinda :p) but nevertheless it is manageable and I think this game can be completed in about 2~3 hours

I won this game from a giveaway and it has been sitting in my library for a while so I've decided to play it, I think this game is uber cool! I feel like this game is a hidden gem; The gameplay is unique, and it even features a Bob Marley character!

However for Achievements wise for the Time Attack achievements are tricky / hard to get. Nevertheless this is a great game overall!

This game is very recommended if you like rhythmic & platform games!

It's okay. The stuff that's there is fun, but it feels like it ends after the first world of a bigger game. There are no unique time signatures or beat patterns, and aside from a few parts that make you struggle against reflexively trying to jump or dodge off-beat, it never gets particularly challenging.

Cool little rhythm game. Bit short. The beat of the music to move on isn't always obvious, but there's at least a visual indicator you can enable. The boss fights aren't too difficult, and didn't need more than 4-6 attempts on the toughest ones. About 2-3 hours of fun, so it's not really worth the full price. Get it on discount/bundle and you're golden.

Довольно интересно продуманная механика игры, - платформер под такт музыки. Стилистически выглядит красиво. Цена оправдывает длительность игры и её разнообразность.
Хоть игра и нацелена на ритмичность, во время прохождения на неё как можно больше делают акцента, но, если слушать OST отдельно, - в целом чуть выше среднего.

主打节奏的音游，踩点、背板、跑酷、横板过关等元素都很充实，效果颇佳。

唯一的瑕疵是BOSS战的最后一关，极具误导性，我玩了一个小时不知道它要让我干什么，是躲炸弹还是打怪？然而明白怎么玩了之后又简单过头，甚至连特殊动作都不用做，直接左右移动就能通关，让人直呼无语。

this game is not nearly worth the price tag. I got it on sale and i still feel cheated. The game is short, i beat it in 1.5 hours, the mechanics are kinda awful in that even hitting on the beat the characters sound will sometimes play out of time making the game/song feel very jarring, the final boss is stupidly annoying, the story is virtually non-existant, and to top it all off it costs 15 USD? the game was 'fun' but in a flash game sort of way. I would expect to play something like this on Newgrounds, not here. Also, I would routinely try and hit the 'in-between' beats, which honestly should count, and of course it doesnt so then you die and have to go back however far in the level. I hate writing this review because I did have fun with the game, but it just wasnt nearly worth even my 3.99 USD and fell short on so many levels. I would not have bought it knowing what i know now.

비트에 맞춰서만 점프,대쉬가 가능한 플랫포머 게임. 비트에 신경써야 하는만큼 게임 자체의 난이도는 높지 않다. 오히려 많은 세이브 포인트, 안내문구 등 게임플레이에서 많은 배려심을 느낄 수 있었다. 신나는 비트에 맞춘 속도감 있는 연출도 큰 장점. 편하게 즐기기 좋은 플랫포머 게임이다.

There are so many good platformers available on Steam, but this isn't one. To be entirely fair, the platforming can get inventive and creative at times, but here's the rub. It's a rhythm game with largely forgettable music. In addition, you have to sync your moves to the beat. Now, done well, this can work. Crypt of the Necrodancer pulls it off beautifully. But this you not only don't have to move on every beat, trying to do so is usually detrimental. So you're left trying to guess at isolated beats in between rounds of running about or waiting for platforms to move. And yes, there's a rhythm guide, and usually you get good respawn points (excepting the final boss). But these feel tacked on to appease people like me. Additionally further, the platforms and some obstacles sync up nicely to different beats than the ones you have to move to, which is not obvious.

No. There are better options for your money and time.

Look at how many hours I have at the time of my review (1.9 hours) and then consider that I am on the third and final stage of the final boss fight, and then all I have left is the secret achievement (mute the game in options - har dee har har devs think that is funny because it is a rhythm game) and the time attack achievements. This game's price is ABSURD at full price. I bought it on sale, but even then this game is not worth it. £0.79 for base version then £0.99 for Digital Deluxe Edition seems fair given how short it is.

This game had so much potential, but it's far too short. It introduces all these mechanics then does nothing with them... I expected the game to get more and more complex.

Disappointed, I expected more.

Edit:
To add to this review in addition to these achievements added to artificially pad the run time (like who actually cares about a time attack mode?). The time attack mode has this stupid mechanic where you have to pick-up these clocks to extend your time, some clocks you have to go out of your way to get it and only save about a second if you get them perfectly. Furthermore, if you make a mistake (AKA try to do anything "out of rhythm"), you will have a 1 second penalty, which is beyond ridiculous... You already lose time from a mistake, because you have to wait for the song to cycle, platforms to get into place, obstacles to move, etc. so what was the point of this? Oh yeah, more padded run time...

リズムに乗りつつ横スクロールアクション
各アクションのSEがBGMに乗っかっていくのがとても心地よくテンションがあがる。
なんならチュートリアルで何もない空間を適当に動き回るだけでも楽しい
ギミックも色々用意されているので飽きる前にクリアできる

難点としては、リズムゲーなので当たり前だがリズムを外すとアクションが不発すること。これでたまにつっかえるせいでアクションゲームとして見るとテンポはやや悪い
あとは日本語対応してないのが注意点。まあほとんど読めなくても遊ぶ上であんまり支障なかったけどね
