While I have many issues for this game on my own accord, even having over 80 hours on playstation, the game was hardly any fun, with a total of 60 players per game when I played (now is ~40) and the random jank and desync it had and the jank it still has among other issues it was not at all a good game to play as you'd lose more to random janky BS then anyone with a hint of skill, the only fun things about this game for me was the full cross-play, cross-platform parties, cross-progression and crossovers/collabs, but it failed and discouraged playing for fun, or playing to win, or playing for achievements with the janky random bs, janky physics, janky latency as playing was like "oh if i don't give it my 100% all the time the moment i hit play and get every moment correct ill just lose" also the game has been delisted as of this review and went exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC so can't play it anyways unless you already own it and even though its refusing to connect to the EGS for what ever reason, though the music was good & gameplay could have been better fine tuned along with its physics & network.
Fall Guys, developed and published by Mediatonic, is a multiplayer party game that takes the familiar structure of a battle royale and transforms it into something far more playful and accessible. Instead of focusing on combat or survival in the traditional sense, it places dozens of players into a sequence of chaotic obstacle courses and mini-games, where the goal is simply to outlast everyone else. The premise is disarmingly simple, but the execution is what makes it stand out. By removing violence and emphasizing physics-driven chaos, the game creates an experience that feels more like a colorful game show than a competitive arena.
Each match unfolds across several rounds, with players gradually eliminated until only one remains. The variety of challenges is one of the game’s defining strengths. Some rounds are straightforward races to the finish line, while others involve surviving hazards, collecting objects, or competing in team-based activities. The unpredictability of these events keeps matches fresh, as players must constantly adapt to different mechanics and layouts. Even familiar stages can feel different depending on player behavior, as the sheer number of participants ensures that no two runs play out exactly the same. This constant variation is key to maintaining the game’s energy, making every session feel lively and dynamic.
What makes Fall Guys especially effective is how approachable it is. The controls are intentionally minimal, allowing players to jump, dive, and grab with ease. This simplicity means that anyone can pick up the game and understand its basics within minutes. At the same time, there is room for improvement and mastery. Experienced players learn how to navigate obstacles more efficiently, time their movements precisely, and position themselves strategically in crowded situations. However, the game never fully abandons its chaotic nature, ensuring that even the most skilled players are not immune to unexpected setbacks. This balance between skill and randomness creates a unique dynamic where success feels rewarding but never guaranteed.
The visual presentation plays a significant role in shaping the overall experience. The game’s bright, cartoon-like aesthetic is instantly recognizable, with vibrant colors and exaggerated designs that give it a distinct identity. The characters themselves, with their rounded shapes and wobbly movements, contribute to the game’s humor. Watching dozens of these characters stumble, collide, and tumble through obstacles creates a sense of physical comedy that is central to the game’s appeal. The environments, inspired by obstacle courses and playful set pieces, reinforce this tone, making every stage feel like part of a whimsical competition.
Sound design and music further enhance the atmosphere. Energetic tracks accompany each round, maintaining a sense of excitement and momentum, while sound effects emphasize the physical interactions between players and the environment. The combination of audio and visuals ensures that even moments of failure feel entertaining rather than frustrating. Losing a round often comes with a sense of humor, as the game encourages players to laugh at the chaos rather than dwell on defeat.
The multiplayer aspect is where Fall Guys truly thrives. Whether playing alone or with friends, the game creates memorable moments through shared unpredictability. Large matches amplify the sense of chaos, with players constantly interacting, intentionally or otherwise, as they navigate each challenge. The addition of cross-platform play expands the player base and makes it easier to connect with others, reinforcing the game’s identity as a social experience. It is a game that benefits from being played in bursts, where each session offers a mix of competition and lighthearted fun.
Despite its strengths, the game does face some limitations. Over time, repetition can become noticeable, particularly if players encounter the same stages frequently. While updates and new content help address this, maintaining variety remains an ongoing challenge. The transition to a free-to-play model also introduced monetization elements such as cosmetic purchases and seasonal progression systems, which may not appeal to everyone. Although these features do not impact gameplay directly, they can affect the overall perception of progression and reward.
Another point of contention is the role of randomness. While unpredictability is a core part of the experience, it can sometimes lead to situations where outcomes feel outside the player’s control. Being eliminated due to crowd dynamics or unexpected interactions can be frustrating, especially in later rounds where stakes are higher. For some players, this adds to the excitement and keeps the game from becoming overly competitive; for others, it may diminish the sense of fairness.
Ultimately, Fall Guys succeeds because it understands exactly what it wants to be. It does not aim to deliver deep systems or intense competition, but rather a joyful, chaotic experience that is easy to pick up and enjoy. Its combination of accessibility, humor, and unpredictability makes it a standout in the multiplayer space, offering something that feels both familiar and refreshingly different. While it may not hold every player’s attention in the long term, it excels as a game that can be returned to again and again for moments of lighthearted entertainment.
Rating: 8/10
is nice
Fun to game to play! Recommend if you like something silly.
There is something almost perversely elegant about Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout—a game that, on its surface, masquerades as chaotic slapstick, yet reveals itself, upon closer inspection, to be a remarkably distilled study in modern multiplayer design.
At first glance, one might dismiss Fall Guys as little more than a candy-colored collision of jellybean avatars and kinetic absurdity. But to do so would be to overlook its quietly sophisticated understanding of human behavior. Each round—whether a race, survival challenge, or team-based ordeal—functions as a microcosm of competition itself, compressing tension, cooperation, and betrayal into brisk, digestible bursts. The result is a gameplay loop that feels almost architectural in its precision: simple inputs, complex outcomes.
What is particularly striking is the game’s rejection of the hyper-optimized, reflex-driven ethos that dominates much of the battle royale genre. Instead, Fall Guys embraces friction—literal and metaphorical. Movement is deliberately imprecise, physics are gleefully unreliable, and victory often hinges less on mechanical mastery than on adaptability within disorder. In this way, the game achieves something rare: it democratizes success. Skill matters, certainly, but so does timing, positioning, and, occasionally, sheer luck. It is competition reimagined as spectacle rather than hierarchy.
Aesthetically, the game operates in a space that feels both nostalgic and subversive. Its visual language—bright palettes, rounded forms, exaggerated animations—evokes children’s television, yet it is deployed in the service of a system that is quietly ruthless. Elimination is constant, progress is fleeting, and triumph is singular. This juxtaposition creates a tonal dissonance that is, paradoxically, the game’s greatest strength. It invites players to invest emotionally while simultaneously encouraging them not to take failure too seriously.
Moreover, the social dimension of Fall Guys cannot be overstated. Whether played solo or in groups, it generates moments of shared absurdity that feel almost performative. One does not merely play Fall Guys; one participates in it, contributing to a collective narrative of near-misses, improbable recoveries, and spectacular blunders. In an era where many multiplayer experiences feel isolating despite their scale, this sense of communal presence is quietly profound.
Ultimately, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout succeeds not because it is complex, but because it understands exactly how much complexity to conceal beneath its surface. It is a game that appears frivolous yet is meticulously constructed, that feels chaotic yet is carefully balanced, and that invites laughter while sustaining genuine competitive engagement. In short, it is not merely a party game—it is a remarkably astute commentary on the nature of play itself.
guys fall
very fun for more non-competitive players because you cannot lose rank in competitive game modes.
VERY FUN :)

It’s a shame that Fall Guys released as it did, as good as it was, because now it’s an even better game than it ever has been, save for a few, non-core gameplay, aspects, yet it’s completely gone from the cultural conscience. In fact, it might as well have never been the biggest game on the planet! But here’s to you Fall Guys, still my favorite Battle Royale all these years on.
Fall Guys is probably still the best Battle Royale game/mode ever made. It absolutely mogs PUBG, it makes you forget Pandemic Express ever came out, it survived an Epic Games review bomb unlike Spellbreak, never got into legal issues like Dark and Darker, and reminds you of the death of your favorite MOBA, Battlerite.
Jokes aside, Fall Guys was and still is a wildly fun game that makes high stakes gameplay continually feel simple, yet challenging, and silly environments like they’re full of adrenaline boosting peril. There’s not really any other game which does it like Fall Guys does, and makes losing so much fun, as well as getting into another round of gameplay so addicting and so easy!
In my mind, Fall Guys’ greatest shortcoming is that the game is segmented between all of these different queue options now: Ranked knockout, Knockout, Roll Call Ranked, 3,2,1 Space, Creator Spotlight, etc. besides the last one, do you have any idea what the ♥♥♥♥ any of these actually are? It’s a complete mess, in my opinion. And as Fall Guys ages, this will present a problem for it, as I have discussed continually in my reviews for games such as Knockout City.
But I’ve yet to touch on Fall Guys’ absolute greatest strength bar none… the course creator. You’d think from looking at Steam News Posts that Fall Guys has been untouched for years now. But that is far from the truth. Over the last two years, the course creator has gone from barebones into a more complete and satisfying experience allowing you to make all kinds of rounds you dreamed about when the game first came out, and with sufficient tool and part capacities to let you make things for mass lobbies, as well as fun things to play with the boys at your in-houses.
Now, with the course creator, Fall Guys is not only a game of silly fun, it’s also a pretty decent creative outlet that not only gives you the dreamlike experience of being a contestant on Wipeout or Takeshi’s Caste, but also letting you go behind the scenes to manufacture the chaos yourself.
With a strong creator tool, lots of developer made levels, cosmetics galore, emotes, and tons of replayability, I still recommend Fall Guys above pretty much any other Battle Royale, and I will occasionally be playing this one still until someday I can hopefully finally get this last pesky achievement.

i hate falling as guys
Nas and *Redacted* spoke these words onto this planet. "You can hate me now, but I won't stop now. Cause I can't stop now. You can hate me now". That sums up this family friendly experience.

Reinstalled after not playing for years.
Does not launch. I get "Game Security Violation Detected #00002003".
Drivers up to date.
All background apps closed.
No antivirus software aside from Windows default.
Online fixes don't work.
All files verified.
Guess I can't play. I don't know what the problem is and since it doesn't even tell me, I'm not going to waste time trying to fix it.
best game mankind could ever produce
Great game - great replay value and very fun to play with friends. Won't ever get old!
Waiting a long time to find a match makes it feel worse than a MOBA game.

Hilarious, unique and fun Battle Royale alternative.

Valve/Steam.
Launcher.

this game is fine but the mode roller derby is rigged. they will literally just eliminate you if the round takes too long. this game mode should be removed from the game entirely

one of the best games I've ever played. Most underrated gem of an experience I've ever played. With it's tight controls, and it's deceptively-cute style contrasting with it's intense and engaging levels, it's surely something that deserved game of the year when it came out. If someone said they didn't like this game, I'd smash their teeth on my laundry machine and beat the back of their head with a crowbar. Would totally recommend.
Love playing this game. Competitive and fun for all ages.
