Juegazo, la única cagada es que no tiene online, pero así sea jugando local o el modo singleplayer re vale la pena.
Tiene una historia con cada uno de los personajes, tan ridículas como el juego en sí, porque lo copado del Nippon Marathon es eso, que todo el juego está cargado de ridiculeces, como se ven en los programas japoneses. Aparte, también tiene un par de minijuegos, como un bowling con changuitos de supermercado.

Entretenido kusoge donde los propios desarrolladores se burlan de su propio juego. Personalmente este es uno de esos juegos que merece la pena ver la historia en Youtube solo por el sinsentido de la historia visto por los diferentes protagonistas.
El juego hace especial homenaje a la serie Takeshi's Castle -incluso hay una pregunta en el que tienes que relacionar palabras para formar una frase en torno a esta serie- y se nota en los minijuegos que ocasionalmente interrumpen la carrera en disparatos niveles o en un modo de juego que consiste en superar plataformas sin que te tiren al agua los obstaculos.
La IA es tremedamente estupida y no supone ningún desafío. Incluso son capaces de ignorar la meta y decidir salir fuera del mapa sin ningún motivo. Si tienes la mala suerte de que el comentarista decida que hay que repetir la última sección y está se produce fuera del mapa: es imposible salir del bucle de caida al infinito.
Le doy un positivo porque hay que verlo para creer lo inusual que es el juego.
Here I am, expecting a trashy VN from the cover, and you get this very nicely scrounged together party game that predates the likes of Fall Guys, Stumble Guys, Rumble Club, etc. These guys also made an Action 52-inspired game a year before UFO 50 did. But let's talk about Nippon Marathon.
It's like Ninja Warrior but a bit more fragmented. Each level is broken up into mini vignettes where your character has to dodge obstacles, jump over gaps and leverage special abilities to become first and win the race. There are additional ways to get extra points, so even if you don't finish first, you can get extra points if you were especially stylish.
The races take a clear inspiration from Japanese reality TV shows, where being peak random and bizzare is key. Even the first character you play as cosplays as a giant lobster. All the time. The graphics are about as good as what you'd get in Second Life, but they put the secret sauce in the gameplay where it counts most.
Onion Soup Interactive are working on a sequel, and the demo is on Steam Next Fest if you ever wanted to check it out.

PLayed this with friends. It's clunky and unpolished but pretty dumb fun overall. Pretty sure it's overpriced but I'd need to play a bit more and get more in depth to be sure. Love the musics and dubs.
Overall recommend if you can get it for a huge sale and it appeals to you. (gamplay videos don't lie).

Nippon Marathon is a game like Takeshi’s Castle but on a weird sugar high, with characters so eccentric they make anime characters look restrained. I laughed – a lot – at the bizarre events, nonsensical obstacles, and characters that looked like they escaped from a B-movie.
But I also felt mildly nervous about this game. Why? Because it wasn’t made in Japan. And maybe this wouldn’t be a big deal, but for someone like me (hi, yes, I’m autistic) reading intent in parody can be a rollercoaster. Is this a loving tribute to the wacky side of Japan? Or is this a trip down weeaboo lane where the “fun” of Japan boils down to a ramen bowl of cliches?
Was the voice acting here down by legit Japanese voice actors? I wish to see the game’s credits. The voices are loud, shrill, occasionally grating – and I can’t tell if this is a Western impersonation of Japanese people, or if Japanese people are in on the joke. I’m not here to put the devs on the hot seat – just processing why this game makes me feel uncomfortable.
On the aesthetic front, the graphics seem purposely bad because they seem like meme-bait. As for sound, sometimes it gets annoying with the shrill effects and over-the-top voice work. But again, it feels like the devs were aiming to make this the next viral “WTF” game.
In terms of controls, Nippon Marathon can be used with a gamepad. And I entirely played this using my Steam Deck. A key part of this game is jumping, ducking, and sliding through obstacles. You can also collect power-ups, much like Mario Kart, and use them to your advantage.
Onion Soup developed Nippon Marathon. They’re a two person team who made this entirely by themselves. And again, I don’t want to make it seem like I’m calling them out. If they’re reading this post, I hope they see this as positive feedback.
Yes, Nippon Marathon made me laugh out loud. It also made me feel uncomfortable. It’s enjoyable, but I don’t know if I can recommend it.
This is like third person Mirror edge but make it more Japanese.

Hilarious. Mario Kart meets MXC. I got it on sale for under $1 and the solo story mode alone is well beyond worth it. I was snort laughing at the absurdity of the.... literally everything.
Definitely going into the multpilayer couch bucket, although I don't necessarily envision being captivated by it for hours.

障害物をよけて、相手を妨害しながらゴールを目指す、のコンセプトはやり方次第だと思うので
潜在的には面白さがありますがゲームとしては雑すぎます、もっとちゃんと作ってほしかった。

we've reached peak humanity
Great little game that makes fun of Japanese culture in a friendly, respectful way. The singleplayer is ok only since the bots are no challenge and the stories are extremely weird (which is intended of course, but it was a bit too much over the top for my taste so I lost interest).
Where the game really shines though is the local multiplayer. We couldn't stop laughing while playing the game as a family. But it's not just a joke game with a lot of really cool ideas, the gameplay is actually fun as well. It requires skill, but there is also a bit of randomness involved that leads to all kind of weird situations. And each level (there are 8) is unique and carefully designed.
If you look for a local 4-player game this game is highly recommended.
Finally
At long last, a game on the horizon that is more challenging. After beating Dark Souls, Pong, and tic-tac-toe on the highest difficulties (all amazing games with extremely deep lore) I have been depressed since I couldn't find a game challenging enough to satisfy my turbo-autism. I am certain I shall beat this legend as well.

This game has a great concept and good charm! Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. I tried to do 4 single races with a couple friends locally, and 2 of those ended in softlocks. There were also other strange bugs like players keeling over and dying for no reason, objects obscuring the camera that weren’t supposed to be there, and once a player collided with some objects and teleported far away, screwing up all kinds of things. Suffice to say it’s not buggy in a fun way, just an unplayable way.

Il y a des bugs, c'est laid, mais qu'est-ce qu'on se marre entre potes ! Le jeu fourmille d'idées originales pour un jeu de courses à pied/d'obstacles, avec une référence très évidente aux jeux télévisés japonais du type "Takeshi's Castle". Il y a certes peu de niveaux, et le mode histoire est anecdotique, mais pour le prix on ne va pas se plaindre. C'est un excellent petit Party Game avec quelques options qui peuvent amener de la variété dans le gameplay.
Par contre, pour certains mini-jeux, il vous faudra un certain niveau d'anglais. Mais rien qui ne gâche l'expérience de jeu. Un jeu nul mais tellement bon !

Feels like an anime mixed with Takeshis Castle. The audio/story is legitimately funny. The map design is 5/5. Low variety of games but they are fairly fun. Would recommend at 50%+ discount.

Taakeshi's Castle for Hikikomoris
It's kind of like Takeshi's Castle, but in the form of a marathon across the streets of Japan, in a video game. With a story line. Also comes with "L.O.B.S.T.E.R." mode, which is a lot more like Takeshi's Castle in its purest form, and also comes with a game where you go bowling by riding a shopping cart into giant pins.
Suffices to say that this game is hilarious.
Unfortunately doesn't have online multiplayer, but remote play seems to be a work-around.
Whether it's worth the full price is up to your sense of humor, but if you see this on sale, definitely get it. :)

This is the closest I'll get to participating in one of those insane Japanese game shows I've seen online. Really cute story and memorable characters. Not sure I'll complete the rest of the stories as I assume its the same story line with a different character. A sequel with online matchmaking and more maps would be incredible ;)

Мне нравятся игры подобные Больших гонок на первом. Это в своём роде Японский Fall Guys. Есть одиночная игра с сюжетом, мемы, с приятным саунтруком. Когда пробегаешь трассу показывают фото реальных мест той локации в которой мы находимся. Приятная игра из жанра гонка с препятствиями.

Es un juego bastante entretenido, muy casual y variado, es bueno para pasarla bien un rato solo o con tus amigos, ya que es bastante divertido jugar cada uno de sus mapas. Al ser tan semejante a los programas de TV orientales, le da un carisma excepcional al juego, lo recomiendo por lo inusual que es.
