This design keeps tension consistently high. There is no leisurely exploration; every second is spent evading death. Mechanically, Escape Doodland balances simplicity with challenge. Controls are minimal—primarily jumping and activating a boost mechanic—but mastering these actions requires sharp timing and situational awareness. Ну що ж, мальовка дуже весела та оригінальна і має певні шизо-елементи. Ну все як я люблю! Думаю, зайду на пару хвилин, нароблю веселих скрінів, але, ну ні хріна собі, це виявився хардкорний платформер! Вже на першому рівні довелося помирати багато разів, а далі стало ще важче! І вас така доля очікує, якщо спробуєте цю гру.

I love this game - it's beautiful, it's fun, it's unique. But it is broken as much.

I just completed all levels, so I think I can talk about its flaws:
1. Game is very hard. I get it, some games are hard and I love challenges. But it is very hard from the very first level and imagine just how hard it gets. If it was just difficulty, I wouldn't mind much, but hard and broken game? It's torture at some point.
2. Mechanics are broken and developer abandoned the game. They were active - as per some discussions talking about them taking their time to release statement for Steam Deck few years ago, but they never updated game mechanics or fixed bugs. For example:
2.1. Player can get stuck on lots of places throughout all levels. Almost every level has a place your character can get stuck for no reason.
2.2. Game has a monster that constantly chases you. Mechanics include freezing enemy and other power-ups. But sometimes - even if you're super quick to take action - enemy will glitch and catch up to you instantly in half-screen distance (it's not supposed to be that far out ever).
2.3. Last level is especially frustrating. It has another enemy throwing boxes and dynamite at you and you constantly get stuck under the boxes, while unable to escape from the explosions. Glitch mentioned above makes it almost impossible to escape, your only chance is that you get lucky.
2.4. Achievements are broken. Some of them don't unlock and some of them are impossible to achieve to start with - as I said, developer dropped the game and made achievements without implemented mechanics.

This game has mostly positive reviews and I wouldn't start playing it if I knew it was broken. It did look great at first, but more you play, more you realize how broken it is. I wish people stopped giving positive reviews without playing the game thoroughly.

Escape Doodland is yet another of several hundred, if not thousands of garbage low effort endless runners plaguing Steam. It's a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience.

Like all endless/autorunners, you're moving and you can't stop. All you can do is avoid the obstacles/jump across the platforms coming at you in this incredibly shallow shovelware game. Sure, on one hand you might really like the clutzy "doodle" art, or you might see it as more an attempt to push a lazy and valueless game format with as little effort being put into the visuals as went into the gameplay design. Remember... gaming is a visual medium. And gamers spend thousands of dollars on high end rigs so they can enjoy cutting edge 3D visuals. So what are we supposed to say when we get this amateur hand drawn Nintendo Switch shovelware instead? Yeah.

One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience.

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The artwork here is terrible, it's all just amateurish "My First Wacom Tablet" style drawings used instead professional looking game assets. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers.

While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals.

PC gamers will be insulted by the presence of console peasant children's toy controller prompts, despite this being on PC. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're developing for.

Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

Escape Doodland didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is "You are dead", for dying (something that playing an endless runner made for the Nintendo Switch would make anyone want to do), trivial to get, but less than 26 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, even the people who own this game weren't interested in it.

Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

Escape Doodland has the preposterous price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

For comparison, the $10 asking price for this game could get you games like "7 Days to Die", "Deep Rock Galactic" or "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

别买！！别买！！千万别买！！
重要的事情说三遍

倒不是说游戏不好玩，只是他不配
首先低一点他只支持ps手柄，
（我北通宙斯精英手柄用不了）
其次游戏卡顿严重
（不是掉帧，单纯就是卡顿），
尤其在跑的过程中场景里边的NPC捣乱的时候
操作模式（手柄、键盘）切换的时候还会触发一个bug
左方向一直处于被触发的状态（游戏内是D键）

涂鸦画风很讨喜，音乐也不错
（但是玩不了白搭）
论玩法可以理解为横版的神庙逃亡（手机游戏）
连续失误三次就会被怪吃掉
与熊猫屁王（手机游戏）的相似程度也很高
不过技能要更丰富一点点

The gameplay is simple, the controls are okay enough.
It's like playing subway surfers, but with an doodle artstyle instead, except there is an actual goal at the end of each level.
The idea behind the power-ups are good enough and the core mechanic is easy to understand and get into.

This game is designed pretty decently, so I'm just chalking it down being not for me.
I just didn't personally have any fun with it, but that's probably more of a preference, than actual flaws with the game.

Compre este juego al 90% de descuento. Da 5 cromos, son feos, baratos y dan 2 gemas. Si hubiera pagado mas por el juego lo hubiera reembolsado.
Es un runner clásico de celular bastante difícil, que se vuelve particularmente aburrido.

Si destaco que quisieron darle una vuelta de rosca con el arte, pero esperaba un poco más.

2D横板跑酷游戏。

游戏难度适中，相比对手的要求其实游戏对脑的要求更高一点，因为地图的陷阱都是固定的，而且数量并不多，也不会让你以很刁钻的角度通过，所以更多时候你需要的是记忆好下一步该怎么做。

游戏内容不多，一共十关，也没什么剧情，只是一款活动手指和脑部的小游戏，画面和音乐都还算可以。

然而这部游戏最过分的地方就是“成就系统有BUG”！游戏和收集数量有关的成就，诸如金豆，绿豆收集，掉出地图，升级人物和技能等到了一定数值就会卡死。十三个小时完美通关的我看着九个未解锁成就陷入了绝望的沉思，成就党兄弟们务必要注意。

高難易度オートランゲーム。
後ろからモンスターが追いかけてくるので、食べられないようにしながら、
前から来る障害物を回避しよう。
操作は３個しか行えない。普通のジャンプ、ステージで拾えるマッチを使って
横方向と縦方向に移動ができる。３つしかボタンを使わないので片手でやれて
いいかも。死んだあともすぐやり直しができてストレスがなくプレイできる。

他の人も何人か言ってるけどカウント系の実績はどこかのタイミングで止まって
しまうみたい。

全体的に難しいけど、特にステージ７が難しかったので、高難易度ゲームに燃える
人はぜひやってみて。アートワークも独特で素敵かも。

Excelente aventura en 2D, estilo never get back, como el wonder boy o el Shu, ya que en este caso te persigue un mounstruo todo el tiempo y tenes que correr para evitar que te mate, hay mucha linealidad, salvo algunos niveles donde podes escoger algunos microcaminos alternativos.

El juego es hermoso estetica y visualmente, controles faciles de aprender, uso del gas para potenciarte hacia arriba, abajo o adelante.

Todo de este juego me encanta, quizas es una pena que sea tan corto (solo 10 niveles) y no tenga workshop.

Los 2 grandes talones de aquiles de esta obra maestra.

Хороший раннер, но есть достаточно много проблем. Первая из них - Это баги, их тут очень много. На какую-то платформу не сможешь запрыгнуть из-за того, что твой персонаж слетает с неё просто так. Или твой персонаж может просто застрять в текстурах. Это я ещё далеко не все баги описал.
Вторая проблема - Это слишком красивые текстуры. Из-за них не понятно, где именно заканчивается текстура, по которой ты можешь ходить, и иногда из-за этого не понятно когда тебе нужно прыгать.

Третья проблема - Это 8, 9 и 10 уровень в игре. Они сделаны отвратительно. В 8 слишком много рандома. Прыгнешь не в нужный момент - Слетят все тайминги к чертям, и тебе придётся использовать на 3 спички больше. (О них поговорим потом). На 9 слишком огромная скорость камеры. Камера летит быстрее в 2 раза самого тебя. А также на всех этих трёх уровнях очень криво расставлены чекпоинты. А 10 уровень слишком криво сделан. Он очень сильно багованный, особенно в середине и конце.

Последняя проблема - Это спички, если их у тебя нет, и нет денег для их покупки, то ты просто не сможешь пройти некоторые уровни. И тебе потом нужно будет переигрывать первые уровни, чтобы найти спички на уровнях, либо деньги.

Из-за настолько большого количества проблем я не могу рекомендовать к покупке эту игру. Она слишком криво сделана. Программиста нужно уволить к чертям

Have to buy stuff(like matches) out of the store? Why not just let people progress in the game, no it's just a trick to make the game last even longer.

OK, the game was listed as hardcore. But hardcore does not mean unfair level design and unresponsive controls. Have a nice day !

恶趣味的游戏，本来玩的还算开心，虽然对手残党不友好，但是还算玩的过去。但是，成就系统有严重BUG，当你收集绿色豆子和金色豆子到一定数值、火柴购买到达一定数值、怪物解锁到达一定数值、跌落次数到达一定数值的时候，成就解锁相关的计算量就停滞了，无论怎样闯关收集都不会再计算数值了，因此关乎豆子数量、跌落数量、怪物解锁数量的成就一直没法解锁，并且删除游戏重新安装也没用，此BUG在游戏讨论区反映已达两年之久，制作方一直未能解决，玩的有点闹心。
