This is a great, quick game. Can be completed in an afternoon. The story and mystery are really well-written, and it's just the right amount of spooky without many jump scares.

Nice little gem.
Maybe it's a bit old, especially with that strange control scheme (don't forget to press stick to activate your controllers), but it's great in VR.
Story was interesting enough to get all endings and few jumpscares added spice to the atmosphere
Dead Secret is a first-person investigation game where you explore a quiet, creepy house to uncover the truth behind a mysterious death. There’s no combat, just slow exploration, note-reading, and piecing together what happened.
It really shines through its atmosphere. The pacing is calm but tense, the environment tells most of the story, and the sense of unease builds naturally as you dig deeper. It’s a great experience if you enjoy narrative mysteries and subtle horror, where curiosity and observation matter more than reflexes or action.
It is a bit annoying that you can not change much of the settings, but overall its a good game with an interesting story.
About 3 hours for a full playthrough.
I have picked this up on sale for 5,99€. I have finished the game, found all except for 3 documents and read them, achieved all 5 endings, and clocked in at 118 minutes, which means I could technically still refund it. Make of that what you will.
I have played this on PC with keyboard on mouse, so maybe it's my fault for not playing it in VR, but the controls are very fiddly, and sometimes outright annoying (had to start one puzzle over again a few times because I clicked a few pixels off the object and it would always kick me out and reset). I've also spent some time trying to figure out where the clickable points are on the screen, but maybe I'm just dumb and missed an option (such as a highlighter) for it.
The puzzles are a bit on the easy side generally, and shouldn't give anyone too much trouble. Ultimately, it's closer to a slightly interactive walking simulator than a full fledged point and click adventure game.
If you can pick it up cheap or pick it up as part of a bundle, and generally enjoy this type of game, you can give it a shot. Otherwise, there's just not enough here.
Really love this game. I've played it quite a few times at this point, my most recent run being in preparation for playing Dead Secret Circle at last. I love the story, the dialogue, the characterization and development. I think the only thing I have to complain about is just the issue with the safe. I know plenty of other people have already talked about it, already mentioned how annoying and genuinely gamebreaking it is, but I'm adding my voice to that. I think if I were working with a star-based system, 1 to 5 stars, I'd have to take away a star for that alone. You might think well, you've played this game so many times, surely you don't mess up and bug the safe and then have to close the game and reopen it...right?

Dead Secret é um jogo de mistério com elementos de terror no qual o jogador controla uma repórter investigando o possível assassinato de um recluso professor. O jogo claramente foi feito para ser jogado com um headset VR, com uma interface bem minimalista e até um pouco não convencional, e considerando o ano que ele saiu e as reviews da crítica na época assumo que ele fez certo sucesso quando saiu. Por mais que pareça mesmo que a experiência seria melhor se eu tivesse jogado ele em VR, a conversão para desktop acaba transformando esse jogo em um point-and-click 3D, com você clicando para se mover pelo cenário e interagir com objetos.
A história aqui é um "whodunnit", com o jogador lendo as dúzias de notas, páginas de diário e cartas espalhadas pelo cenário para entender o que está ocorrendo e apontar quem foi o assassino. Eu me surpreendi que o jogo implementou alguns elementos de survival horror, especialmente inspirados em Clock Tower, que por mais que sejam simples e leves ajudam na atmosfera aqui. Eu comecei achando a história bem simplista, e por mais que nunca se torne algo extremamente complexo, você acaba descobrindo elementos da história que tornam fatos apresentados antes mais interessantes em retrospectiva.
Eu recomendo Dead Secret pra quem quer um point-and-click de mistério e com leves elementos de terror pra jogar em uma sessão só, ele pode ser encerrado com todos seus finais em torno de 3 horas - e especialmente para quem tem um headset VR, por mais que imagino que ele seja bem antiquado para os padrões de jogos de realidade virtual atuais, ainda assim me parece uma experiência divertida e imersiva para jogar usando ele.

It's not really that I outright dislike the game, but I still wouldn't recommend it to many. It's mostly serviceable and I can see the broad strokes that the writing is going for, but the narrative gets a bit stilted and it just doesn't land for me with its finer details. I'm not above suspending some disbelief as I immerse myself into a story, but I couldn't stay in as much as I'd have liked with a couple of its comical leaps. So with the main aspect of the game being "meh," the only things left to try and interest me was the gathering and reading of notes, which are hampered by the aforementioned disinterest in the narrative, and a handful of decent puzzles strewn across a little farm house. If you're hard up for any murder mystery, it's far from the worst, but I have a hard time imagining that $15 for this is competitive to a lot out there even for the time.

Прекрасная игра для своего года, но мне не понравилось проходить её сейчас. Я люблю поинт энд клик, но в данном конкретном случае он вышел очень утомляющим, потому как передвижение осуществляется через клик, а сопровождается, соответственно, анимацией ходьбы, которая в какой-то момент надоедает.
История пестрит событиями и в целом вышла интересная, но чтобы понять ее, нужно прочесть все что валяется в доме, а это, во-первых: много записок и газет, во-вторых: текста будут временами очень длинные и без русского вы просто перехотите все это читать, все же сказывается эффект прохождения на иностранном.
В итоге, как сложилось все для меня - долгое хождение+долгое чтение(мы же еще переводим в процессе, а это как-никак уже другое кол-во времени на каждую записку) создали впечатление затянутой бродилки с крупинкой головоломок.
Если любите спокойно походить, поизучать и почитать кучу записок - пожалуйста, вам это подходит.

Interesting point-and-click murder mystery with some spooky elements. Not bad.
This is a pretty straightforward murder mystery adventure game, but it has some fun 'scares' that might make you classify this as horror or thriller. The walking mechanic is non-existent, like old-school adventure games where you click the 'edge' of a scene to move in that direction... that makes some of the 'scare' scenes extra tense because you don't get to mash a RUN button! The puzzles were simple and fun, and I say this as someone who does not like complex puzzle games. I hate having to check a guide for every unintuitive step, and I did not need a guide for this one. The masks were used marvelously, the scariest one for the most helpful character kept a nice, creepy vibe throughout the game. I had just gotten a really gnarly painting of a monster face set up beside my computer, and I keep seeing it out of the corner of my eye while playing. This game helped to convince me I needed to install it somewhere else. Aha! Get the game if you want to experience a short (2-3) hour spooky tale.

It's a bit janky, a bit buggy and some moments really do a number on your willing suspension of disbelief, but it's still an enjoyable and deliciously atmospheric detective game with horror elements. Buy it, turn off the lights and play it in one sitting; you won't regret it.
Point and Click game in VR...? honestly i had my doubts but color me impressed! this game was pretty damn entertaining!
How does the game play? well you are on a fixed location and you can point and click stuff around you, sometimes moving it, maybe finding stuff, if you need to move to another room or another part of the room you select it and walk there automatically.
In the game, you are a journalist trying to get a scoop on a story, and break into a house to get information... there is some exploring and item collecting as well as some stuff you can read a bit to get more backstory.
There are a couple of "scary" scenes where you have to run away from a masked guy that doesnt want you snooping around. While the game is not a horror game, it has this tension that you are in a place you know you shouldnt be in.
There are a bunch of puzzles that need you to take close attention to the environment. Id rate them from easy to medium difficulty never getting frustrating (unless you arent paying attention) The story is pretty interesting and i kept reading all i found to learn more. Which is good because at the end there are some questions you get asked about the story and (my guess) you have to answer correctly to get the good ending.
In the end the whole experience is well designed and once you accept its limitations, i feel the game uses it to its advantage so its really hard to get lost doing something else instead of "going forward" i liked how the experience was designed.
Graphics look fine, obviously older but work well. Performance was excellent allaround.
Recommended for anyone wanting to play a solid mystery puzzle exploration game with a "different" from the usual main mechanics (that being point and click. Really! dont dismiss it, it really was a great experience).
Luved this game. Held my interest from start to awesome end. I used a controller to start but found using mouse was much easier & quicker. Such a great game! will definitely buy the sequel. Highly recommend!!
Hororová adventura od malého nezávislého studia Robot Invader. Hra je primárně určena pro virtuální realitu, ale lze ji hrát i klasicky na monitoru s klávesnicí a myší... či spíše jen myší. :) Ovládání je totiž řešeno tak nějak postaru, jako u starých 3D adventur po skocích. Nepohybujete se volně, ale kliknete do určitého směru, postava pár kroků popojde, pak kliknete do dalšího směru, postava zase popojde pár kroků tím směrem. Je to trochu zastaralé a nepohodlné, ale dá se na to zvyknout. Levou ruku vůbec nepoužíváte, tak si můžete v klidu dávat kafe, nebo chroupat brambůrky. ;)
Příběh se má tak, že je rok 1965, jste reportérka Patricia Gable a jdete do jednoho opuštěného domu někde v kansaských polích vyšetřit záhadnou smrt podivného vědce. Vědec, pracující na podivných tajemných výzkumech, týkajících se lidské mysli, během léta umrznul - podivné, že? :) Příběh vám vypráví tuny a tuny papírů, válejících se všude kolem. Stránky denníčku, dokumenty, atd... Příběh je opravdu hodně propracovaný a povedený. Na závěr vás čeká celkem 5 konců, podle toho, koho určíte za vraha a co s ním pak uděláte.
Hra se ukládá sama jen při ukončení. Po dohrání vás tlačítko "Continue" hodí před závěrečné rozhodnutí, takže se můžete libovolně podívat na všechny konce. Hra má cca 3,5 hodiny, ale návod jen 40 minut, ale za tuhle dobu to dohraje je ten, kdo už hru zná a ví, co má kde dělat.
Plusy:
Skvělá hororová atmosféra v opuštěném domě. Venku prší, ozývají se podivné zvuky a občas je i nějaká lekačka. V domě totiž jaksi nejste sami. :)

Grafika (Unity engine) je docela mdlá a nedetailní. Asi úlitba virtuální realitě - aby se to hýbalo.
Ve hře není vůbec žádné grafické a zvukové nastavení. Uvítal bych možnost snížit alespoň hlasitost hudby.
Systém pohybu pomocí klikání myší je celkem nepohodlný, ale dá se na něj zvyknout.
V jednom místě je technický bug, kvůli kterému nelze pokračovat dál (po vlezení do tmavého sklepa). Naštěstí se stačí vrátit do hlavního menu a dát pokračovat.
Na hru bohužel není čeština a porozumět dokumentům, které vytváří příběh, je ke hraní nutné, takže jestli neumíte anglicky, tak máte smůlu. Hra by si češtinu rozhodně zasloužila. Doporučuji alespoň český letsplay půvabné české youtuberky MsRepulsive, která dokumenty během hraní překládá. :)

Not a bad game, just kinda meh. It has some nice spooks, but it's very linear and the mystery itself is a bit lacking. There are just two of the suspects who are actually suspect. And its use of fantastical elements feels a bit tacked on and inconsistent. There is an interesting story there and personality to the game, so its frustrating to see it fall short of actually being interesting.

Ce n'est pas une mauvaise expérience, mais elle est plutôt oubliable. Le genre de jeu qu'on ne fait qu'une seule fois, avant de passer à autre chose.
Pas de traduction française et même avec une bonne compréhension de l'anglais, la narration reste confuse. Le jeu parvient tout de même à avoir quelques bons moments, et l'horreur ne repose pas sur du jumpscare mais plutôt sur son ambiance et quelques rencontres inattendues avec l'antagoniste.
Durée de vie courte, environ 3h donc à prendre en soldes.

Super quick murder mystery but worth the play through if grabbed on sale (less than $10). Plays just fine outside of VR, though movement is restrained. 4/5 endings are relatively easy to achieve in a single play through thanks to the "Continue" option allowing for continued play through just before specific ending choices are made. Wish there was more depth to making going back for ending C worth it but there just isn't much incentive there. Also, some very creepy scenes still hold up well 7 years after the game's release.

A decent detective mystery that is easy for beginners. A game mechanic that means you can never be stuck spoils the mystery of it a little but it is still worth playing, graphics are dated now but you soon disregard these. 6/10
I recommend this to those who like a good story, like to explore, and don't mind a good scare or two. I thought it was great. I liked that you could get all the endings (achievements) with out having to replay it.
A short and fairly simple game, but one with a great atmosphere. You are a reporter trying to uncover the truth of the death of an academic. You go to his house alone and solve a series of puzzles. Great atmosphere through sound, location, and an uncanny storyline. Multiple endings to be experienced too. On reflection, not all of it makes complete sense, and there are no really challenging puzzles. However, it's a good short game for a few quid when it's on sale.
Although short, this game was very atmospheric, and well written. The puzzles were challenging, but not too difficult to slow the pacing of the game. If you are into murder mysteries with just a dash of supernatural spook, then this game is a good play.

Very atmospheric, slow-paced mystery adventure in the form of a first-person point-and-click investigation game. You are an aspiring journalist in a backwater town, and this is your chance. It's not exactly a horror experience, but it's definitely a thriller - similar to The Painscreek Killings, albeit much more claustrophobic. It's very condensed, too - no wasted space, no fillers.

It's a very cosy game, at least at the beginning. Autumn evening in the middle of nowhere, pattering rain and croaking ravens, chill music and faint creaking of the old house. The ambient soundcape is ominous and thick, amplifying suspense and psychological tension. There is a great attention to details, both visual and sound cues. Properly mind-boggling and nuanced story, with unexpected twists and turns, becomes very unsettling towards the end, as the sun sets and the moon rises.
Lens mechanics, though cool, feels underutilized. It's mainly used for hints. Puzzles are very simple and seemingly exist only for the sake of progression. The gameplay/investigation is still based on pixel-hunting, finding various notes, items and documents, but the story is presented in quite a clever way. The game features a number of jumpscares, but they are all quite fitting.

Dead Secret was made with VR in mind and it shows. Limited movement (pre-determined points), strange inventory system, simplified visuals with low-res textures. Yet it still plays and feels just fine in traditional non-VR, so that's more of a nitpick.
The game seems to hate multi-monitor setup, and there is no way to change graphical settings in options. You have to hold Shift while the game launches to access the settings dialog window. Seriously, for a 2016 game, this kind of technical design decisions is extremely frustrating.
It also is a mess on Steam Deck. All in-game animations are tied to the framerate and it needs to run in at least 60 fps, otherwise there are bad audio sync issues, slow movement and other bugs (many of which still persist, though). Add [code]-show-screen-selector[/code] in launch properties for the settings window to appear.
The UI has that specific VR style and is clunky in general. Inventory items, readable documents and system options are all arranged in a 3D wheel shape, floating in a black void. There are far too many categories for collected documents - when you want to reread something, good luck guessing in which category it is. It's like rummaging through real dusty archive binders.
The voice acting is flat and often sounds like an AI generated voice.
There is some questionable characterization of a particular person - some of their actions don't fit into their personality or aren't properly explained/justified, and seemingly exist only for another character's motivation, and thus plot twist, to happen.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dead Secret. Technical issues and minor nitpicks aside, I highly recommend this little game for the fans of the genre. This fascinating [spoiler]murder mystery with a bit of supernatural[/spoiler] is perfect for a slow evening.

Played this in 2023 and even though the graphics and controls may have aged it was still a ton of fun! Great story, great puzzles and the pacing and tension was awesome. Still highly recommend!

This game makes many things right. Normally easy to follow riddles. Good graphics. In some cases the game does not let you move around stupidly, instead it denies it so you know that the riddle is within the room.
There were few things I find not optimal, like unfrozen the can... not every water sink is suitable for some reason, you can activate a stove but putting it into any pan or pot is not doable, or just next to it, does not do it. For whatever reason.
Also running away is not possible, like in the first time.. because.... you have to open a chamber, which you previously could not open and because of the hurry this situation makes no sense to me.
And another game where all the story is on paper sheets flowing around everywhere. You missed one? Too bad, you don't get the full story. There really has to be a better way of storytelling. I personally wish a more detailed storytelling at the ending.
Though I like that, as a reporter, sometimes you review your newly gotten information.
Due to the VR compatibility, you are not able to freely move and even freely clicking where to go is not that possible. But was still fine.
But for retail price, I would not suggest it. I got it in a cheap bundle.

This is the best horror game that I have ever played. It has a unique mix of scares and puzzles. The greatest part of the game is the mystery, the constant investigation to find out what happened and solve the case. The deep story creates an unreal sense of immersion. This is a must play for anyone who is a fan of these types of games.

Had this on my wishlist for a while but what made me finally get it was that it was bundled with the sequel and that I now have a Quest 2 headset.
It has its issues in VR for the Quest 2. The primary selecting trigger is actually the thumbstick button. I guess you can remap that but I got used to it quickly. The other odd part is how moving about with your headset stretches the head of the character's body model without actually moving the body with it. Again, you get used to it quick and in worst cases just do a recenter in SteamVR.
Other than that I really enjoyed the game. Multiple endings, some other hidden stuff that I actually didn't do and would require a new playthrough. That being said I was still able to get all the endings and achievements without those.
Has a fun creepy vibe that doesn't go overboard with insane jump scares and such.
Really enjoyed the story. Because of this first game I am seriously giving the sequel a chance but so far its been a buggy mess in VR. Luckily I haven't ran into anything game breaking that couldn't be solved, yet. Not sure how the second game could be worse in VR than the first but I am not a game dev so what do I know.

En primer lugar voy a calificarlo positivamente porque es del tipo de juegos que mas me gusta. Detective (periodista) que tiene que resolver un crimen. Y creo que hay que apoyar estos proyectos asi hay mas.
Ahora especificamente el juego tiene muchas cosas que lo hace dificil de calificarlo positivamente. Por ejemplo la movilidad es insoportablemente MUY lenta. Tambien hay DEMASIADO para leer. Es decir, gastas mas tiempo leyendo que jugando.
Lo bueno del juego, es que una vez que te concentras y te adentras en la historia, se vuelve interesante. Esta buena la forma de ir resolviendo el misterio, tanto como el final.
Visualmente no es una obra de arte, pero me parece agradable. No esperaba mas de un proyecto asi. De hecho, en lo personal, me gusta mucho.
Para cerrar, recomiendo pasarlo de una jugada, asi no pierden detalles. Me gustó, nada mas.
Not sure where and when I got this game (and I am not interested enough to look at my purchases and key redemptions).
The game is made for VR but can be played on PC using the mouse only to click through scenes.
On PC- the camera is loose and floaty.
The character you are playing has a body that goes in and out of view depending on where you point the camera, and it's a bit annoying. The loose swingy camera was a bit nauseating- not sure how much better or worse this would be in VR.
Full achievements in one playthrough are possible [spoiler]Just chose the "Continue" option from the main menu after you get an ending, and the game drops you back in at the last checkpoint before the ending so you can do something differently.)[/spoiler]
The puzzles were not difficult- some hardly qualified as puzzles IMHO.
The story was mildly interesting, but lacked any depth.
The graphics are what you should expect from a VR game released 6+ years ago.
(They aren't great.)
The voice acting was terrible- the voice actor sounded like she was reading the lines under duress- no emotion, fairly monotone and disaffected-sounding.
The mystery solving was minimal- you pick up notes and find handprints that give you clues that are stored in your notes.
The UI was not great.
Using the inventory was clunky and honestly not fun.
Wearing the mask to look for hidden clues was almost pointless, and the bright bluish-white light it put the screen into was horrible- migraine trigger, for sure.
Really no horror- a few mild jump-scares, and a rather dull "tries to be ghastly" story.
You can only go where the game wants you to go- basically on rails for most of the game, only a few areas where you can backtrack- but doing so is a waste of time. Just follow the path the game forces you to follow.
Was it a terrible game?
No.
It's fine for a time-waster as a point & click, but not worth a replay in VR.
If you get it, do so only on a really deep discount. Full price will likely leave you feeling like you spent way too much.

It may have had great potential back when it was made, but if you are looking for something that will be really good in VR- this probably isn't it. And if you are looking for something with decent puzzles and a need to use good deductive reasoning skills- also not it.
It did run fine, and no bugs encountered in non-VR play. No idea if VR play has lots of bugs or not, or what VR (other than an old set from when the game released) will work with the game.

I went into Dead Secret knowing nothing beyond the Steam description page which sounded interesting. There were immediately some things that threw me off. First is that the option menu is so barebones without even any audio controls or video resolution options or *anything* beyond inverted Y axis and controller sensitivity. Also, despite being in first person, it's point and click controls, not WASD like I was expecting. In general I might have enjoyed WASD more, but I largely adapted.
Once past that, the game is pretty fun though not the best thing I've played. The story is a bit weird, but told and paced well. It's not a straightforward mystery and the horror at times seemed to intrude on the mystery, so the genre mix did not quite mesh as well as it might. The puzzles were generally not difficult in the least, with much of the difficulty being either because I needed some item I hadn't looked around hard enough for or because there was some obscure thing I didn't know (the rust remover puzzle being worst here). Most of the puzzles honestly barely qualify as such. So it was mostly a mystery in the form of a walking sim to find all the story bits. That's not a bad thing in and of itself. The horror elements were... well, not scary outside from a few jump scares. And there were a few too many of those on top of it all. The atmosphere wasn't bad though and ended up (usually) being a bit tense and creepy, but the jump scares overstayed their welcome.
Graphically and musically, the less said the better. Everything was functional and not *too* distracting and with some moments that genuinely stood out from the rest of a pretty pedestrian look and sound. The art design itself was good, with the 2D elements being rather good, but overall it's a game I was not playing for the great look or sound.
Overall, it's not a perfect game by any stretch and I think the (current) $15 price point is a little steep given that I beat the game in less than three hours for all 5 endings, but I don't regret buying it or playing it.
This game is abandoned and I didn't get my Oculus Rift key.
This was a decent game with pretty easy puzzles, Not scary, but definitely creepy. Some game play can be buggy (maybe better on VR?) and drag due to how slow movement is from place to place. Despite these criticisms, I found the story and atmosphere engaging enough to keep playing. I do recommend you wait for a sale.
Fun, spooky lil horror game. I enjoyed the mysterious ambiance--the game did a good job of feeling creepy and scary without relying on gore, spiders, incessant jump scares, etc. etc. Just a quiet lil murder mystery. I'm also super partial to point-n-click, story-based games, so that's a major plus.
My one critique has to do with the ending. No spoilers: At the very, very end, I really wish the programmers had given you the ability to pull up your inventory and re-read all your documents and look at the things you'd collected so far. That really would have helped me out. Unfortunately, you lose access to your inventory and documents when you reach the final part of the game. The game will warn you before you hit the point of no return, so make sure you've collected everything and read/re-read everything before you proceed because you won't be able to look at anything after that. Also, if you want to collect all the endings, make sure you've found endings C and D before you go into that final area as well.

페인스크릭 킬링스를 플레이하고 난 이후, 약 2년간 이 게임을 찜목록에 담아뒀는데 2년내내 이 악물고 할인 안하다가 2022할로윈 세일에는 어쩐일로 반값 할인을 해서 내놓았다.
2년 넘게 기다린 게임을 처음 키자마자 든 첫 인상은
"엥 이거 화면 왜이래 아니 그래픽 왜이래 뭐야 조작 왜이래"
앞서 말했듯 퀄리티가 좋지않다. 단순 그래픽이나 조작감만 좋지 않은게 아니다. 공포를 조성하는 방식과 그 외 여러 근거면에서 많이 부족하다. 그 와중에 할인은 더럽게 안한다. 제값 주고 살 게임은 절대 아니다.
그러나 스토리만큼은 꽤나 흥미진진하였고, 걷는 시뮬레이터에 가까울정도의 호흡으로 한글번역이 없어도 게임진행을 수월하게 해주었다. 아무튼 내취향엔 맞다는 뜻

Short game but really enjoyable story.
Interesting point and click game with an original plot. While the graphics are nothing to write home about, the story is immersive and there are some real scares and plot twists here.

MUCH creepier than I expected. I have been shying away from story heavy games lately because they tend to be tedious and boring. But, this is neither of those things.

Wir sammeln allerhand Notizen um die Story besser zu verstehen und auch einige Gegenstände. Es gibt zwischendurch auch ein paar Rätsel zu lösen, diese fand ich ganz angenehm vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her. Es gibt auch Sequenzen wo wir sterben können aber diese sind auch recht simpel zu lösen und falls wir mal sterben können wir sofort wieder beginnen weil es ein gutes Checkpoint System hat. Es gibt insgesamt 5 Endings zu entdecken und gegen Ende des Spiels müssen wir die Entscheidung treffen wer denn nun für den Mord verantwortlich war. Die Musik ist gut gelungen und auch die Atmosphäre ist schön gruselig

Always looking for good mystery solving/horror games that have a nice balance between the two genres; Dead Secret walks that line PERFECTLY! Very engaging game, puzzles are challenging without feeling impossible. Creepy atmosphere and just enough jump scares to keep you on your toes!
Dead Secret es un juego interesante sobre una periodista que intenta averiguar la verdad tras el asesinato de un científico. La historia es bastante plana y muy lineal, los puzzles son ingeniosos, pero no dan la talla y da un toque de terror, pero le falta mucha inmersión.
La música es buena en sus momentos, adecuada a los años 40-50 considerando que se desarrolla por esas fechas.
A pesar de que el juego intenta dar un ambiente sobrenatural es más una historia de venganza X, la parte deductiva tampoco sobresale mucho.
En lo personal en un principio si me sorprendieron algunos screamers, pero luego te acostumbras (demasiado rápido) y el juego se puede terminar en 2 horas a 3 fácilmente.

Sono sempre intrigato dai giochi investigativi ma ne ho trovati solo pochi di validi. Purtroppo Dead Secret non rientra in questa cerchia, nonostante le recensioni molto positive su Steam.
Graficamente è davvero brutto e non è una questione stilistica. Le texture sono sgranate e l'illuminazione è pessima e rende tutto piatto.
Anche la componente audio non è granchè, c'è un discreto doppiaggio solo inglese ma una colonna sonora e dei suoni mediocri.
Come gameplay si nota tantissimo che è stato pensato per il VR in quanto, se giocato con mouse e tastiera (ho un visore ma ho preferito la versione classica), ha dei controlli davvero scomodi. Non ci si può infatti spostare liberamente ma con una sorta di "punta e clicca" in prima persona, con W, A, S e D che controllano la visuale insieme al mouse.
Oltre ai controlli mal pensati ci sono anche movimenti e animazioni molto lenti, sensati su VR per evitare fenomeni di motion sickness ma inaccettabili su PC.
Parlando di gameplay vero e proprio ho trovato anche davvero banali gli enigmi presenti, senza molti ragionamenti da fare e talvolta mal contestualizzati.
A questo si affianca anche una storia a tratti intrigante ma troppo surreale e raccontata in modo davvero noioso, con quasi solo testi anche piuttosto lunghi.
Gli elementi horror funzionano anche ma sono davvero poco contestualizzati.
In conclusione, trovo incomprensibile che la community trovi questo prodotto valido in quanto per me è inaccettabile sotto ogni punto di vista. Purtroppo abbandonato dopo poco più di un'ora di gioco.

It's no page turner but the atmosphere is creepy and the mystery is enough to keep you on board.
My best friend and I really enjoyed playing through this game. It had some great atmosphere and some good scares. The lore was fun to piece together as well!
If I could use one of those MIB memory erasers and replay this game I would. Super cool experience. Play it in one sitting for maximum effect.

其实不算特别恐怖，但杀人犯戴着日式般若面具登场配合惊悚的音效，可想而知vr模式下会被怎么吓飞...
吐槽：根据金属的焰色反应分辨出硼，再配合柠檬汁做除锈剂有够硬核。
I like escape rooms, and this game is basically a murder mystery escape room (spread out over multiple rooms in a house/farmstead). The plot doesn't always make too much sense, and the puzzles are all fairly straightforward, but it is still a pretty good game to play for a couple of hours.
It wasn't a great game and more designed for VR than regular screenplay, but the story was interesting and the puzzles and interest to backtrack were very cool. Not a very long game, so keep that in mind. 2.5 hours for me. RATING: 6.5/10

An unremarkable horror mystery which is devoid of character and challenge, the experience forgotten the second it's over. Any situation is forlorn when you have to make a conscious effort to be engaged.

I'm a bit mixed on this one. I really liked the story and atmosphere, and had a couple good scares which were not overused. However, the game is too short and the puzzles are too easy because too much information is given for a lot of items, making it more like a walking simulator than a game where you are really solving problems. Sometimes it is even literally suggested where to find a required item, or what you should do with an item based on things you found earlier, instead of trusting the player's exploration and reasoning skills a bit more, hiding the obvious hints in a hints system instead until the player really gets stuck.
Giving this one the benefit of the doubt because I liked the overall atmosphere, but make sure you wait until you can get it on a good discount.
I'll start by saying I didn't play this in VR. I imagine that would've been a bit better, since the non-VR controls were pretty bad. There isn't much of a horror atmosphere, but were a few decent jump scares that likely would've been more impactful in VR. The story is okay, but very poorly told. Many things aren't full explained, though you can make an educated guess at what happened. There's little voice acting and what’s there is terribly done. The protagonist sounds like someone took a text to speech and gave it the ability to slightly, very slightly, inflict its voice.

Unsurprisingly, since this is billed as a murder mystery game, you get to guess who did it at the end. The problem is that it’s painfully obvious. One of the four options is literally dead by the time you pick, so who would be stupid enough to pick that option? If you’re going to give the player the option to pick, please at least throw out a few red herrings so that a player might at least consider that it’s someone besides the correct choice.
While Dead Secret is playable in VR, I don't have a headset and played it using only mouse.
Dead Secret is an alright spoopy game. Local professor Harris Bullard has been found murdered in his home, and you play as the reporter seeking the scoop. The game plays like a 3D point-and-click adventure and has rather reasonable but easy puzzles. The overlying story is light and interesting enough, and you can definitely see the production values for an indie VR game. The horror in the game isn't really built on tension, you'll just be hit by a few jumpscares, which feels like the simplest form of horror. Still, Dead Secret is short enough that it didn't overstay its welcome, but people looking for a long fulfilling experience should probably wait for a very deep sale if they want bang for their buck.

Геймплейно - игра из серии - найди объект А и примени к объекту Б. Никаких путаниц, обилия предметов для использования - 1 ручка для 1 ящика и так далее. Ходьба - клики по экрану в определенные точки. Спасибо хоть смотреть можно во все стороны, а не на статичную картинку. Передвижение дико медленное, даже с учетом того, что игра проходится за полтора-два часа, подобный мувмент раздражает спустя минут 30, а дальше просто бесит. Как и во всех играх подобного жанра огромная проблема с вариативностью (как пример - ты не можешь сдвинуть стол, так как он тяжелый - перелезь. Нет. Обходи пол дома, с десяток комнат и все в таком духе).
Музыки в игре нет, только 1 пластинка в конце игры, которая используется в граммофоне.
Сюжет - Из-за него и закончил игру, как оказалось - зря. Может, я тупой или в 2 или 3 записках, что я не нашел, раскрывались те крохи информации, которые бы помогли идентифицировать убийцу, но для меня итог остался неясным, а проходить это заново - нет, спасибо, обойдусь без этой информации. Хорошо, что игра сохраняется перед последним выбором и можно просто проспамить все концовки.
Не тратьте свое время и смело проходите мимо, так как игра ничего ценного или интересного из себя не представляет.

If you can get it for like 3$ and got 2 hours to spare, it may be a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon, otherwise there is much better games in this genre, this is definitely not worth 17$ CND that is being sold for at the time of my review.
I am one of those people who thinks current VR technology is just a really dumb cash grabby gimick that needs to go away ASAP.
I am only recommending this game because of the fact that the devs had enough sense to have a non-VR version.. wish more VR devs did that. Although it does have a few bugs on the non-VR version cause of this, but nothing game breaking.
The game is nothing special tho.. just a short walking sim with a small mystery that was nothing mind blowing. The puzzles are very simple and never got stuck once. There is nothing "horror" about this game, sometimes someone with a japanese mask shows up and you gotta click on the right spot to hide, but they look so silly, I wish there was an option to just smack them for looking so goofy. Also sometimes you get glimpses of a guy wearing an Oni mask.. which again just doesn't look scary.

I love puzzle, story driven games, having said that, I'm not sure I'd recommend this game. As a gamer with limited time, without financial constraints, the expense of the product is not the issue. However, I have to ask myself, even if the game is free is it worth my time? Largely no.
The devs clearly did the best they could at the time, but I would describe this game as an experiment in VR gameplay pre- Halflife Alyx. It's a great attempt on a limited budget, alas, the execution of the story isn't solid. When the gameplay itself is awkward, navigating the environment is awkward, translation into english is awkward - then its so important the story be executed strongly to make up for these shortcomings. However, it seems like a nonsensical patchwork with little depth.
However, compared to all the other offerings of the time, this is pretty decent.
I'm a little picky about games but I really do adore this series. When I first played I wasn't sure how I felt about it, the controls and camera movement was a bit wonky for a PC player but I understand this is probably graphically more for a VR player so it was easy to get past that. I love the psychological horror genre and this game definitely meets the standard and more. I adore the mix or crime mystery and lore that's added to this game and while it is definitely a find the clue based game it has just enough moments that made me jump to keep me on my toes and looking around my shoulder in game. If you play this game and enjoy it I definitely recommend running over and playing the sequel Dead Secret: Circle. I'd love to see this group make more games and if they ever did in the future I'd come running in an instant
I had fun with this game! If you like a good mystery and want to be frightened but not terrified, this is a great game to play. There is a moderate amount of reading as many of the story elements come from reading documents, but that didn't bother me at all. In fact, I recommend reading all of the documents so that you can figure out the full story- I missed a few and had to look up an explanation after I finished.
I beat the game in about three hours and there isn't much replay value, so if 15 dollars sounds a little steep for that, get it on sale!
