Castle Story é uma oportunidade perdida. O abandono de um projeto tão promissor é completamente triste. Ele se destaca de outros jogos no mesmo estilo pela simplicidade em certa parte e seus gráficos fofinhos, mas a parte boa acaba por aqui. Muitos bugs que no começo são até engraçados, mas depois podem te fazer perder saves inteiros, desbalanceamento, um aumento de dificuldade descomunal em pouco tempo, mecânicas mal aproveitadas e um multiplayer atualmente inexistente.
Esse jogo tinha um potencial absurdo, mas os defeitos simplesmente apagam suas qualidades, transformando o amor absurdo que eu tinha, por um amontoado de decepção sem precedentes. HUD confuso e má otimização evidente, com travamentos esquisitos do nada e uma clara confusão na hora de fazer coisas mais complexas do que colocar um bloco ou outro no chão. As IAS parecem que foram feitas com o objetivo de serem atrapalhadas, e estenderem tarefas simples o máximo que conseguem. A gameplay deixa de se tornar algo criativo e diferente em cada mapa, quando é quase que obrigatório o uso único e exclusivamente de muros gigantes, uma proporção de 10 wards pra cada Bricktron ( se quiser derrotar um inimigo forte ), as duas opções de melee começam a ser inúteis em waves relativamente baixas e o limite de apenas 15 Bricktrons acaba limitando grande parte da diversão daquele sentimento de grandiosidade. Eu estava determinada a fazer a platina desse jogo pela memoria afetiva, que tinha dele por causa dos vídeos que assistia quando menor, mas hoje em dia ele é só um projeto promissor, e nada mais. Não comprem, de verdade.

This is a dead game with no chances of revival and content is: 4 enemy types, bricks and 4 usefull warrior kits, there will be nothing more in this game. Some maps are really annoying, some maps are great. Yellow people AI and pathfinding are horrible, but manageable.
If you love stronghold series and want a new challenge this is a good game for you. Although its enjoyement is limited

cazum8, muito obrigado, eu só conheci essa obra, graças a você. foram 11 anos que esperei para ter um PC que rodasse, após anos finalmente pude jogar castle story com minhas proprias mãos, apesar do abandono dos desenvolvedores, a comunidade ainda parece ativa, quero aproveitar esse jogo o tanto como eu aproveitava, o eu de 11 anos atras ainda tem muito a jogar, um abraço para todos que leram.
Хороший проект, прекрасна ідея, непогана реалізація, але рекомендувати цей проект я ніяк не можу. Чому? Тому що проект сирий з ніг до голови. Концептуально гра має великі задатки і покладає громіздкі надії, погравши якийсь час - це все не справджується. Враховуючи капітал зібраний на кікстартер (700к баксів), можна було очікувати чогось краще. Камон, дайте мені стільки і я сам зроблю вам краще за якийсь рік.
На початку було враження що моддинг може виправити ситуацію й здавалось би він не має бути важким для такого проекту, але або коммюніті тут давно вимерло, або ніхто й не намагався це модити, хоча дописувати контент на lua здавалось би не так вже й важко.

Good game freezes occasionally But in Honesty GOOD game HARD but good look at a few tutorials i didint and got my ass kicked Wooden walls? Possible But you gotta make them 2-3 logs thick for them to actually stop enemies dont forget to spam archers and spears mate your not gonna have enought People and they Know it they will jump you when you least expect it so. spam spears and few archers when waves comes click call to arms they grab weapons and now just wait and defend anything you made i reccomend that you play a map that has only 1 entry point you have to defend otherwise you get overwhelmed Peak game But Hard (defend your Bricks or the Little ♥♥♥♥♥ will disrespect and destroy your walls for no reason even tho thers a clear opening. yeah that pissed me off-)

Zamysł bardzo ciekawy ale nie grywalny. Szkoda, bo daje dużo satysfakcji z budowania, lecz ai nie daje się kontrolować, warjuje, szuka dziwnych scieżek, mało możliwości zarządzania

I really liked this game when i was younger. When i found out that Sauropod Studios didn't just stop working on the game but Disbanded i decided to revisit the game. I can only imagine a world where this studio did not shut down and created more games just like this, even just for a little while longer.
Or maybe y'now, actually optimizing the game.

it's honestly sad that a game with this much potential was abandoned. you can definitely enjoy the game as-is in it's current form, but there's definitely QoL updates and general new features that would need to get added for it to match today's standards. i like the simplicity of it. the unique artstyle. the music.
do i recommend it? yes and no. i think it's a really cool game for what it is, and if you go into it with that mindset, then you can definitely have fun with it. although, it does lack features and fixes, and it will (most likely) never get updated.

Multiplayer has stopped working, which was one of my fav parts, and support is gone, its fun i do really like it, i own the ost, very good music imo, i love making maps for it, all of it, but with no support and all that i can recommend it still but not as much, 7.2/10 imo, for a specifc player

Castle Story ist ein interessantes Spiel mit viel Potenzial… zumindest auf dem Papier. Praktisch ist es ein fallen gelassenes Spiel, welches scheinbar aus dem Early-Access gehetzt wurde, nur um dann ein neues Spiel anzufangen, welches nie rauskam und jetzt ist das Studio dahinter Geschichte!
Es hat gute Idee, aber es ist ziemlich verbugt und es fehlen ziemlich viele „Features“ und „Quality of Life Mechaniken“. Das Navigieren fühlt sich unfertig an und ist etwas unübersichtlich. Dazu kommt, dass das Spiel, zumindest für mich, aus einem Mix aus Englisch und Deutsch dargestellt wird, obwohl Deutsch gar nicht offiziell unterstützt wird (umstellen bringt nichts). Dadurch ist das Tutorial etwas unverständlich, zumindest gegen Ende hin, da es kein Steinbruch als „Gebäude“ gibt, sondern man muss ein Loch graben? Außerdem skaliert die UI nicht mit. Das heißt bei Auflösungen höher als Full-HD wird der Text im Spiel unleserlich klein!
Es gibt keine Kampagne was für Spiele dieser Art eigentlich „Standard“ ist. Im Spiel sind nur ein paar Karten mit drei verschiedenen Modi. Dafür gibt es Steam-Workshop Integrierung. An sich cool, aber wie oben schon erwähnt sehr verbugt. Ressourcen können direkt beim Abbau verloren gehen, weil sie direkt wegkatapultiert werden (von selbst), die KI hat Schwierigkeiten Wege zu finden und verliert spontan den Arbeits-Willen oder fängt erst gar nicht an zu arbeiten. Dass alles nach nur etwas über einer Stunde an Spielzeit und wenn man den anderen Reviews mit mehr Spielzeit glauben kann, dann wird es eher schlimmer als besser.
Dadurch dass das Spiel keine Updates mehr bekommt und quasi unfertig (in Early-Access) ist, würde ich von einem Kauf eher abraten. Außer man hat jemanden für den Mehrspieler (falls dieser überhaupt funktioniert) und wartet auf einen größeren Sale, dann könnte es den reduzierten Preis „wert“ sein.

Realmente en si el juego esta abandonado, pero realmente importa? claro, no habra mas contenido. no mas reparaciones de bugs y no mas mecanicas. Pero como tal el juego cumple con lo que muestra
el juego es simple, crea tu imperio para protegerte de los golems, puedes hacerlo con magia, flechas, espadas, bombas, trampas y catapultas. Te permite construir la cantidad que se permitan tus recursos (ya que si, los recursos son finitos, pero no son pocos). Te permite capturar cristales para poder usarlos a tu favor, tambien crear los tuyos para atacar, curar, recapturar y ampliar.
los graficos son simples, puede generar problemas pero al final son solo eso, no veras un vicho comiendo pasto pero si podras ver a tus criaturas. En las fisicas pues, ahi es un problema pero uno divertido, es parecido al de the forest. La IA de tus compañeros y enemigos son simples, por ende puedes tanto engañar a tus enemigos como a tus caballeros.
La construccion es amplia, simple pero permite hacer muchas cosas.
el juego no es malo, esta abandonado, si. Pero no es malo, quejarse porque el juego no se va a actualizar teniendo tanto workshop como multijugador me resulta tonto, es como quejarse que el earth of empire (clasico) o el age of wars (clasico) no se van a volver a actualizar porque fueron abandonados negando que son muy buenos juegos, no hay que ser tan lloron

This "finished" game isn't enjoyable to play, the performance isn't very good, the controls are clumsy and the game's ai could be better.
The game loop is simple, it takes forever to get anything done and gets boring quickly.
I simply find myself annoyed by it and I just can't recommend this game, like really can't.
I bought the game together with a friend back in EA and played it now for completion's sake...that last achievement is way too grindy and tedious.

Еще в 2017 году заприметил ее, но к сожалению только сейчас смог в нее поиграть. Игра интересная, но оказалась для меня крайне скудной в геймплее и не интересной. Скорее всего я дал ей слишком сильные надежды, которые не оправдались. Думаю в будущем снова попробовать, но сейчас она отправляется в далекий ящик

Не рекомендую, разработчики перестали заниматься этой игрой, последнее обновление было в 2020 году. Оптимизация тоже хромает.
Игра кстати очень затягивается, но это больше песочница чем стратегия, хоть и как стратегия это тоже очень прикольно, но кажется что чего-то маловато, там нет разнообразия рас игра больше заточена на индивидуальный подход в развитие у каждого игрока
Castle Story has a genuinely charming concept — watching your little Bricktrons haul materials and piece together your fortress brick by brick scratches a creative itch that few games manage to hit. The building system feels surprisingly satisfying, and the conquest mode in particular offers a fun offensive twist on the usual defend-your-crystal formula. That said, the AI pathfinding is a constant headache; I've lost count of how many times a Bricktron wandered to the opposite end of the map to grab a single stone block and dragged a horde of enemies back with them. The game is clearly unfinished and has been abandoned by the now-defunct Sauropod Studio, leaving behind a pile of unfixed bugs and unrealized potential that stings given how close it came to being something special. Only pick this up if it's heavily discounted — there's genuine fun buried here, but not enough to justify full price for a game that will never see another update.

отличная игра но последние обновление было в 2018 году (релиз игры был в 2017) на данный момент 2026 игра полностью заброшена нету как серверов так и онлайна наверное в игру играет человек 500 от силы когда скучно а так отличный симулятор TDS и RTS геймплея с большими возможностями. Боты как и враги очень тупят а иногда буквально ходят сквозь стены и землю спрыгивают с огромной высоты без урона и т. д но даже при этом вполне играбельно. Из основной проблемы из за убогово движка при постройке определенного количества блоков (структур которые вы строите) примерно 1000 структур игра просто вылетит на рабочий стол. Также я считаю что в режимах сломана сложность(не сбалансированны враги и их количество с жизнями)
