Yes & No... and this is coming from someone that always flies gen 4+ fighter jets as a preference.
Basically, you can try Aerofly FS on mobile (Android or iOS) and you will find an exact PC-to-Mobile port... except you are restricted to a single terrain square without a "global scenery" subscription in the mobile version. Menu, aircraft, EVERYTHING is identical on the mobile version and it is free to install with some basic aircraft if you don't opt to pay for a DLC style unlock of the exact same packaging/range of aircraft.
I have tried North America and Australian terrains. Visually N.America (because of the free Hi-Res DLC) is somewhere between X-Plane 11 and 12 and decent enough. Australia however looks pretty sad at lower altitudes (or even up high in some instances), and only slightly better than an unmodded X-Plane 11.
Flight feels very easy to handle, but very responsive. Not excessively "real" with all the mandatory buttons, failures, etc. of something like X-Plane or Prepar3D. Which is not to say that the physics are compromised, but you can just jump in, throttle up and fly in a way that you cannot in those other two. FThere are a multitude of assist options which are genuinely helpful if you don't have a joystick or full hotas+pedal setup with enough buttons... or you just couldn't be bothered rebinding everything again for the Nth flight sim that you have installed on your system.
Huge plus is that it is not resource intensive.. partly because it is not visually cutting edge, but that's fine. On an ultra-wide 8K triple monitor display, this runs perfectly with a very healthy frame rate on max/ultra everything. Everything loads fairly quickly too, and you have the sublime option to start from a runway or just immediately mid-air. That is absolutely ideal for just loading in to go for a quick little pleasure cruise just to scratch that flight sim itch for a short session. Making those pre-flight location/starting-point choices are extremely simple and quick.
Downsides are that the aircraft on offer are somewhat limited in range, even with the Deluxe DLC pack. The focus is definitely commercial passenger craft as there is an abundance of those, but only a specific and limited selection of fighter jets, prop aircraft, choppers, etc. Which is fine, but what you see here on the product page is what you get... minimal, or a somewhat near-non-existent modding community set of options that I am aware of.
Another downside is that certain little things don't quite work... or at least they haven't for me. Tutorials and Challenges don't seem to be acknowledged as "completed"... yet I have seen those exact same challenges and tutes acknowledged correctly in the mobile version of the game. The tutorial and challenge guidance-points in the sky are fairly primative, which should be fine... but, again, from what I have experienced, they don't seem to be consistent in updating (or even existing in certain instances) when the route turns or deviates from the original straight-line/ascending/descending path and such. The completionist in me found this to be a little frustrating.
Granted I have not owned/played this long enough to establish if those glitches are a recent patch anomoly or just a "me" experience. Either way... I have seen those exact same mechanics and features work properly on the mobile version. The game has its own little achievements set of features within the game too, which makes you wonder why it hasn't been implemented as an integrated Steam Achievements system as well... they're all fairly easy enough to accomplish if you have the most basic of flight sim skills, and would help sell the game to achievement-addicts.
BUT... Even though you can get much more indepth flight training and tutorials that are better presented from Micro$oft FS 20++, or X-Plane (especially X-Plane community addon training for 12), if you know how to fly (the basics) and have half decent to hardcore sim gear, FS4 is worthy of taking out for a spin. The F/A 18 and F15 fighter jets are especially pleasant to fly for casual high speed scenic runs.

This is a very nice, well designed flight simulator. Graphics are really nice. Sound id give it a 7.5. Game needs voice chatter with ATC's. Other than that, this flight sim is really fun. Can fly anywhere, even from aircraft carriers. Dev are very active with this project also, which is a very good thing. Support the developers pls.

I own MSFS 2020, X-Plane 12, and this game. The reason this game is faster and performs well in VR compared to the other two is because the landscape graphics are terrible. Its other features are also very lacking.
A great alternative for MSFS and XPLANE. It is a huge install (200GB) and perhaps the scenery and flight models are not as sophisticated as what is possible with MSFS or XPLANE. Nevertheless, the quality is very good, it has a great selection of aircrafts and it runs much smoother and better than MSFS or XPLANE. It brings the right mix of realism and ease of use. It is not an arcade game: it is a simulator and you will need to spend time with it to learn flying. But it is less time troubleshooting your sim and more time actually flying. Highly recommended.
