100ft Robot Golf is part comedy, part golf game, and part 90's anime. Sadly, none of these parts are done particularly well, and they don't work together either. The anime cutscenes are lovingly drawn and detailed, but the purposefully bad voice acting wears thin quickly. The actual golfing has been redisigned to be more fast paced, with everyone taking turns at the same time, but there's limited interactions between players, other than just getting in the way. There's destructible environments, but for little reason other than to just clear a path every now and then. The golf mechanics are pretty standard for a golf game, and don't lean into the mech aspects other than a handful of different minigames that determine accuracy.
There's some good ideas here, but everything feels either disjointed, disconnected, or has unfulfilled potential.
The premise alone should've made this a slam-dunk win, but instead it's mediocre. Worth a play for a few rounds of couch co-op, but there's no replay value to keep you coming back for more.
Oh, and the McElroy brothers are the commentators. So if you're a fan of them, you'll overlook the gameplay for the humour.

Das Spiel ist ein witziges Gimmick, aber leider ist die Verpackung überzeugender, als der Inhalt. A number of other reviews have said what mostly needs to be said so I figure ill just add my own small piece.
I couldn't help but be amused by the dorky characters and the equally as dorky plot, hell the whole concept is silly from (100ft) head to toe. You can tell the devs enjoyed themselves making this game and I think by extension that made me enjoy it more too. Glad I stumbled upon this game I had fun.

I like it; it's a charming concept, and the aesthetic is dead on my taste, but there is missed potential here.

To start, the voice acting could be a little better. It is supposed to be bad, but a good voice actor can do a lousy voice well. But the actors they have here are dull-sounding.

Another issue is with the dialogue. It really needs to be funnier. The McElroy brothers' stuff is cute, but the rest of the dialog sounds like a first draft in a comedy show. It's maybe flirting with getting a chuckle out of me, but it falls flat at the punchline and sometimes delivery.

Finally, the gameplay either needed to be more arcade fighter-like or golf-technical. Right now, it's just shallow, and it's not always clear how strong a shot will be or how far it will go when the interface keeps changing for each bot.

Every now and then I keep coming back to this thinking
"Surely i've not given this enough of a try" and hoping that the McElroy wit can keep me involved enough to see some shine i've missed before, but no... Every time I pick up this mess i'm enraged. Everything from the gameplay to the menu is atrocious, and i'm sorry but "first to the hole," race style golf is garbage - Half the appeal of golf in game or reality is taking time to analyze your situation and work against the elements...in this game it's just "HURR SMASH BALL LOTS MAKE GO QUICK HOLE".

The definition of unnecessarily reinventing the wheel. Bums me out that the McElroys talent was wasted on this heap.

Online doesn't work, and the mecha gameplay is so severely unbaked that all you're really left with is a golf game that relies on its silly presentation and art style to make it interesting. Unfortunately, it's not nearly enough to carry the game. Maybe it's more enjoyable in the singleplayer story, but that's not why I bought this.

Very disappointed.

The premise of being a giant robot and doing real time golf in destructible environments is really fun, but it super does not deliver. The destructibility feels like an afterthought, as do the robots themselves, and the golfing sucks. It kinda feels like a vanity project for the McElroys to narrate repetitively and unfunnily at the boring golf gameplay.

I think the game's half-assed nature is best embodied by the end of any multiplayer match. You don't go to a score screen, you don't narrate the other players. Instead, after sinking the ball, your robot slowly levitates in the air, performs a canned victory dance animation, and just stays there with your camera locked on it while other players wrap up. You can't free cam, you can't move the robot, it's just stuck there doing that victory animation for who knows how long.

I recommend that you avoid 100ft Robot Golf and buy Golf With Your Friends instead. It actually has fun core mechanics, and it has the benefit of steam workshop support and a very active community so you never run out of courses.

a neat little gimmick golfing game, doesn't take its own mechanics too seriously for the sake of just enjoying goofy golf fun in robots that use special moves and functionally plays out like a decent mini-game in the sense that pushing into the depth of gameplay is unfortunately lackluster and feels more like investing time into getting a feel of muscle memory for taking on harder challenges. theres also a goofy story that is a good laugh with some nice little custcenes and art, a multiplayer that I'm not sure still exists but feels like a one afternoon thing to try with friends if anything

A good game for the right price. I don't play often, but I do bust this out when a few friends are over and we always have a blast. The humor is fun and the physics are passable. It's always a humorous endeavor when we are all racing each other the beat the course and we do what we can to throw each other off their game. I could see the commentary getting repetitive over time as I have heard the same comments more than once over a play session but it's varied enough if you play now and then. If you have friends that can play locally, get it. If not, avoid it as you won't find others to play with.

I have no idea what happened here but this incredible idea for a game is just a miss. It's mostly a comedy game but absolutely none of the jokes land. The McElroy brothers aren't utilized well and their one-liners feel completely disconnected from the rest of the game if you can hear them at all with the bad sound mixing. The cutscenes are also just awful with some of the worst voice acting I've heard in a while that also doesn't match the aesthetic they're going for. It's not funny and it's not fun to play and it just bums me out because this should have been a slam dunk.

Most players seem to make the same mistake when playing the actual game as well. Unlike most Golf games, 100ft Robot Golf experiments with vertical obstructions and course layouts, which it actually succeeds in doing. It's not perfect per say, but it's not as dramatically awful as people say it is. The camera isn't the best ever ether, mostly getting stuck behind objects a lot and is one of the biggest annoyances I have with the game. I think a tutorial explaining how things worked would have benefited this game and it's awkward learning curve.
Cutscenes and commentators are funny sometimes. Game is really simple, so if golf is your thing and you just want to relax, try it, maybe you'll like it.

worth it for the 5 dogs piloting 5 robots that have merged into one robot but seriously its a pretty fun game not the best yeah but overall really good and worth the 10 bucks I spent controls are simple idk what some of the reviewers are talking about on that front each character has their own control scheme yeah but they're all straight forward and tell it to you right there the story feels like the english dubbed "Ghost Stories" or Kung Fu Hustle pretty funny but don't expect 100 hours of comedy

As a pure golf game it's not that great. It's difficult to aim your shot, the ball physics are very loose and wonky and it’s almost impossible to ever make par on a course due to obstacles in the way.

As a fun time this is amazing. Fun robots with colorful pilots that play on the giant robot genre tropes, crazy chaotic mayhem as you create a path of destruction through unique locations with your club and special abilities, and then the comedic genius that is the McElroy brothers game commentary is the perfect cherry on top.

Overall a great little game to play solo and even better with friends.

Please, If you ever think about buying this, Message me and we will find you a better game for under 10$.

1.) If you're just here for the McElroys, just look up a compilation on YouTube. I promise.
2.) Do not buy this game. If you REALLY feel like you need to it goes on sale pretty often... but why?
3.) If you STILL buy this game, please make sure your friends get it as well. It is AWFUL alone.

The Good things:
The character designs are beautiful. It really nails the head on that 90's anime aesthetic for it's characters, even with the things like 5 corgis who pilot a giant sentai themed robot or even just a massive skeleton named Jeffery. Thank you Soap-Committee and charmwitch for putting so much effort into this.
The McElroys may not be experts, but their advice on golf should always be followed. there's tons of lines in this game.

The bad things:
The physics are AWFUL. no matter what you do when hitting the ball, it will always go where it wants to. It SOMETIMES will follow the path you send it on, and that's only vaguely.
Single player content is extremely dull due to the fact that the game isn't fun.
Multiplayer is non-existent. This games all time peak for online players is 17 people, and that was 5 years ago. Steamdb says 2-8 people open the game on any given day. Don't hold your breath that all of you will be online at the same time.
Nothing in the game feels fun. Trying to hit other players usually just ends up in your taking most of the knockback and deflecting their ball feels like a 1 in a million chance. If you wanna just destroy buildings there's better games.

This game is the lowest preformer in all the categories it tries to show in, except featuring the McElroys.

I prefer Golf With Your Friends, which is another game that still frustrates me.

As a lover of silly humour, a fan of robots, and a casual golf gamer, why am I just learning about this game [b]now[/b]?

+ Taller than 90ft Robots.
- Not as tall as 110ft Robots.
+ Characters with unique swing styles.
- No tutorial, learn on the links.
+ Great art style, kooky soundtrack, fun announcers.
- Will hear the same lines quite a lot, even in a single hole.
+ Fittingly appropriate "poor" character voice over, very B-movie style.
- Fittingly appropriate "poor" character voice over, very B-movie style.
+ Nice course design.
- Not many courses, and hole selection could be better.
+ We blew up the Moon and we can now play golf in whats left.
- We play golf in what remains of the Moon.

Silly take on the game of 100ft Robot Golf. Most definitely the best 100ft Robot Golf simulation title out there.

The game offers some nice graphics, although some ugly glitches here and there, it is pleasant all the same

100ft Robot Golf overall, however, is an okay game to play, and it does get boring if being played for a long time, but is an okay-ish to meh casual sports game and to play in short bursts

If you like golf then get it but do not buy bc you think it is going to be a random quirky fun game with golf. It's a legit GOLF GAME with a fun skin but very strictly JUST golf. I, for some reason, expected more shenanigans. I don't like sports games but I like put out and robots; this is a pure golf game that has a themed look. I would've liked to see some gimmicks to change it up.

Картинка вполне достойная!
Играется при этом скучновато и скверно. Сами 100футовые роботы не ощущаются тяжелыми и мощными машинами, и даже ловкими технологичными машинами не чувствуются, а игрушечными.

Но судя по отзывам есть люди овладевшие видимо всеми особенностями игры и приятно проводят в игре время. Жаль это не я.

An und für sich hätte das Spiel schon ein gewisses Potenzial. Ein netter Fun-Golfer halt. Die Kampagne besteht aus einer Handvoll Matches hintereinander und stellt definitiv keinen Anreiz dar, sich dem Game im Singleplayer zu widmen. Aber bei solchen Spielen kommt es doch eh auf den Multiplayer an, oder? Richtig! Und genau hier liegt auch das absolute K.O. Kriterium für 100ft Robot Golf. Das Game hat ein bekanntes Problem (->bekannt seit Tag 1 und wurde nie gefixt!), welches es euch unmöglich macht das Spiel im Multiplayer zu Spielen. Workarounds existieren, jedoch sollten Spieler nicht gezwungen sein, sich den MP selbst erarbeiten zu müssen. Deswegen: Nein Danke!

一般想到高爾夫球遊戲時，大家只會想到一個運動員在球場上努力把球打進洞裡，加上要控制力道和角度，遊戲步調就顯得非常緩慢，如果不是高爾夫球粉絲，一般人玩高爾夫球遊戲不到1小時就感到無聊了，當初我打開100ft Robot Golf時也是這麼想的，以為會像一般高爾夫球遊戲一樣門檻很高，但實際遊玩後發現遊戲步調極快，上手難易度很低，可能是虛構機甲運動遊戲，再打球方面就不會很寫實，而每一個角色的操作介面都不一樣，一般操縱的力道和高度是基本配備，只是說打球的按鍵配置會不同，不過最扯的是有一個角色的操作介面是心靈同步(笑死，而角色的機甲有不同的武器，像是炸彈、劍，最扯的是飛行滑板(我已經不知道該怎麼吐槽了)，主要是干擾對手的行動，除外可以破壞檔在機甲面前的建築物，然後聽聽比賽主播全程講冷笑話，可以說這是一款搞笑遊戲，遊戲裡玩家可以從比賽拿到的獎牌去換外觀，可以把自己的機甲裝飾一番，遊戲也有支援多人模式和分割螢幕對戰，如果玩家無聊的話找朋友一起休閒一下，而遊戲的畫風為日式動漫畫風，喜歡此畫風的玩家可以體驗一下，筆者推薦沒有玩過高爾夫球遊戲的玩家來遊玩，也推薦想玩獨立多人遊戲的玩家，推薦給你!!

One of my friend's gifted me this game as we needed a new Online Co-Op game to play, only to our dismay that the Online Multiplayer doesn't work at all. Even when we are on the same Internet connection. I wouldn't recommend this game if you want to play with your friends online, as you clearly can't.

This felt more like an anime with interactive bits than a game. At several points matches are ended early with the match finishing in the cutscene. How you do in the matches has no bearing on the story, either, and you're constantly forced to change character. Each character has a different special ability, but in several cases I couldn't work out what they did, and it was never explained. I'm sure the anime part is enjoyable if you're familiar with anime, but I'm not- I just wanted to play golf with 100 foot robots.

The golf part isn't really much like golf, either- 90% of the matches are a race to get your ball in the hole quickest, rather than in fewer strokes, and there isn't even a stroke count.

Smashing buildings up is fun, but most of the time I only noticed a building was in the way when I was already lined up to swing, and as far as I could discover, there's no way to leave that view without swinging.

I love the McElroys, but they're at their best when they're improvising, and most of the commentary felt scripted. It often didn't really relate to what was happening in the game, either.

The camera is also very unwieldy, and it's often difficult to see where you're going. Some kind of map or zoom out option would be nice, but it's not there.

I really thought this was going to be fun, but it just wasn't.

This is probably one of the most funnest games I have ever played on Steam! It's very entertaining and it's such a unique concept for a golfing game, since 100ft tall robots are playing GOLF which is amazing! Especially the great characters and robots, maps, and the announcers which are hilarious as you go through the game. This game is very fun I would highly recommend it!

This game is a riot with friends. The only issue is that it can quickly devolve into a mad dash for the finish, with very little player interaction, despite the fact that each of the robots have different abilities and powers.

For sure a fun party game, but doesn't have a lot of longevity. Chances are, it won't be a staple of game nights. Buy on sale if you can.

You can fit 5 corgis into a giant robot and use them to play golf in a metro city and bring chaos and destruction along the way, there's no way I couldn't recommend this game more. While the cutscenes in campaign are very low effort, the commentators make up for in comedy. It's fun to play this game with a friend in splitscreen.

I thought an over the top golf game would be interesting, this is not golf. Its a race to sink the ball first with a bunch of cheesy lame comic like cut scenes.

Can't change any key bindings, your stuck with default controls.

Love the commentary from the anime McElroy brothers. Being "Travis's favourite" is a huge accomplishment

Got this game cheap for the McElroy Brothers. A few good deep cuts of their humor and show (Great Job! horn) but as a whole the game is pretty bad. B movie plot, some bad voice acting, and a weird game of golf that takes you through a variety of scenarios including hitting the ball into the sun. Unless your really into MBMBAM, you should skip this one. But Project C is kinda worth the 4 hours for a quick playthough. Good dog!

Fun idea, but it's less like golf and more like a race. You don't win by taking the fewest strokes, you win by getting your ball to the hole the fastest, which generally means hit it as many times as possible to move it down the "fairway" to the hole while your opponent tries to line up long shots. First ball in the hole wins, last people with their balls outside of the hole get DNFs.

Do you love golf! Do you love giant robots! The do I have the game for you. 100ft Robot Golf is exactly what it sounds life, its 100ft tall robots that are, you guessed it, playing golf. This game might not be the best golf game on steam, but if your looking for a golf game with a unique twist then this game is great. 6hrs of playtime, 100% achievements. 7/10

100ft Robot Golf is a fast paced mini golf type game that focuses more on speed running a course over just getting the lowest score. there are matches where you can just solo for a low score but over all that's not the focus. for me the game felt hard at first until i learned it's better to just smack the ball than to aim your shots but after that it was quit easy and felt a bit simple. the game is fun but it has more than a few flaws. to name a few: the overall physics, if you can get ahead of the ball you can knock it back or redirect it (this could be intentional), voice acting is campy but serviceable, and if you solo-vs you can only play vs the ai robot/character. there are more little things but these are my main gripes. that said the game is alot of fun though if you can't get other people to play with it'll get boring. the single player story is cute and is as absurd as a game of voltron/power ranger robots playing golf.

I am Surprised by all the Positive Reviews,
The Controls were easy first campaign mission
but the video made it look like I could punch other mechs and mess with them, but it wasnt working at all, total sham
then after the first campaign mission the controls become different and very cryptic, and yes, I gave up trying to figure it out
this game is barely worth the 2.50$ USD I spent on it, this game needs a lot of work!
animations are wonky, the one liners loose their humor quite quickly, I wanted to have Mech battles (small not like gundam) and be able to play golf. go get Golf with your Friends instead, this is basically the same game with the ability to knock over buildings, which really didn't mess up my or anyone else's shot.
I could see this being enjoyable if you had 3 others to play with that you could all laugh and have a good time, but solo, this game was boring and lost the interest I had in it in 15 minutes.

Poorly optimised, doesn't play well at all. I could go on about the gameplay but nobody is buying this for the gameplay. The announcers are very funny but not worth it at all.

Just go look up all their dialogue on youtube. You'll get all the enjoyment and same the money and the headache.

So imagine a game of golf is happening, then you inject that with a little bit of meth and 80's mech anime and you get the greatest golf game on steam. I really enjoy the diffrent type of mech's and there play styles. It mixes what I love with a new passion for golf in a way I never thought possible.
