This game is abhorrent piece of ♥♥♥♥. The devs will claim they 'want players to have fun,' or 'enjoy the yugioh experience' but then throw you against the sweatiest tryhards for daring to touch a deck?

Want to get into the game with a new starter deck? Get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ boyo; face a Kashtira lockout, a Vanquish Soul K9 you don't get to play, and a branded dracotail that tells you to ♥♥♥♥ off. This game doesn't want you, it wants your damn money. The devs only see you as a beaten, bloody, exploitably piggy bank that they will ♥♥♥♥ over endlessly and still throw you to the wolves.

♥♥♥♥ this game. ♥♥♥♥ Konami. and ♥♥♥♥ me for wasting my time.

J'ai joué à ce jeu en 2022 pendant son pic j'ai joué 90j seulement puis repris sur mon tel et sur steam pendant ces 2 dernières semaines: en 3 ans le jeu n'a pas changé: On peut pas jouer/tester des decks, craft des cartes c'est trop chères, les stapples sont inaccessible ( URX3), pas d'events, mode histoire ennuyeux, jeu peu généreux, etc. Ils ont juste rajouté de quoi afficher sa collection ce qui est très bien mais payant mdr. sur pokemon pocket c'est gratuit! réveillez-vous KONAMI j'aime yugioh mais je m'amuse plus sur Magic que je viens de tester. ils ont un vrai pass avec des boosters de la derniere extension !! les autres TCG ont de meilleurs idées. Qui plus est j'ai désintallé le jeu sur mon tel mais je peux pas récupérer mon compte sur steam car, KONAMI bloque l'utilisation sur deux plateformes. OK, en attendant avec pokemon pocket et Magic je joue sur mon tel, ma tablette et steam... Bravo les guys, il faut le dire si vous voulez pas que l'on joue à votre jeu. Je vais pas le réinstaller sur mon tel.

太粪了，想起MD独占全胜的扫码丽丝就恶心，以后卖卡都这么造神那玩尼木，现在的卡组UR越来越多，逐渐组不起卡组了
加上以后的游戏王数值只会越来越膨胀，轻度休闲玩家跟娱乐玩家可以放心退坑了，不然就只能打打剧情。而且平时想拿钻只能玩你死我活的排位，没有那种双打、国赛之类的娱乐模式，烂完了，想打牌休闲一下都没地方玩，要不是上班没啥时间打实卡，我玩你的木。平时哥们没啥时间玩玩bo1也不错，但你DC之类的竞技模式不搞bo3+side确实烂完了，纯粹的运气游戏。还不如减少场数肘bo3，被野狗掏死真恶心，没啥反制手段。去年的世界赛更招笑了，连手坑都共享卡池，太唐了MD的运营
然后这游戏大概率有ELO机制，先手拿爽了，后边就给我来了个9连后手，抛硬币的正面概率逐渐趋向于1/2，你问我恶不恶心，当然恶心。

How fun can a game that is based 100% on luck be?
Answer: not very fun.
Then add a predatory gacha system, and release a new best deck every few months so that players have to either pay up or play with a subpar deck.

This game is not very difficult to play, which is a giant problem because the games aren't based on skill anymore, but rather just on who gets luckier. Often times this is frustrating and even made me quit the game at one point. Now I tried coming back and realized that nothing changed. Haven't had fun playing this game in a while.

Another problem are the countless people making alt accounts to just farm the huge bonuses the game gives to new players and get an advantage above others.

First: This game gave me an inferiority complex.
Second: Everyone keeps using the same 10 - 12 archetype's.
Third: You can dismantle useless duplicate cards, except not all of them I have like 10 of the same card which is useless since you can only use 3 of a card at a time in a deck, but it wont let me dismantle the 7 useless deadweights

Watch helplessly as your opponent does a 5 minute combo that summons 10 unaffected boss monsters with 15 different omni negates, or get handtrapped to death on your turn and be completely unable to do anything at all. One format, where you'll play against the same 3 meta decks over and over again, and be forced to play the meta or get curbstomped. Komoney refuses to ban toxic cards like Herald of Arc Light, Baronne, Maxx C, D Shifter, Liger Dancer, etc. This game is unplayable garbage

What if a card game with insanely toxic FtK strategies, and decks so uninteractive you'd think you got FTK'd, was played [b]FIRST TO 1, WITH NO SIDEBOARD[/b], with people you both don't know, and cannot interact with whatsoever (probably for the best in regards to an online Yu-Gi-Oh game, I shudder to imagine what trash talk must look like even in fan-made clients, but it's kind of a horrible idea from a card game perspective), and had effectively gacha-lite monetization, all necessitating meta slop being played by literally everyone?

I've had maybe one notable, interesting opponent in my time playing this game, and guess what, they were just playing Exodia FtK. It's all just different flavors of "either you drew the out or you lose on the spot", and it's really telling as to why modern Yu-Gi-Oh is haemorrhaging players that the only decklists whoever's left plays consist of whatever won the last YCS, plus whatever tier 1 engine fit the vibe. I've never felt my eyes roll further back in my skull than just not getting whatever card lets me play second, and losing with zero opportunity for interaction.

I think that playing modern Yu-Gi-Oh in any format other than in-person, or on one of the free, web-based clients, with people you know, is the sort of test even God would think twice about. I'm convinced that Master Duel is some sort of cruel experiment by Konami, just to see if people can deal with it. Like, I need someone to figure out a way to design a digital card game worse than this, and saying "MtG Arena" only gets you half points.

I have played Yu Gi Oh card games in the past, and those are fun. This one, with all of the newer generation cards and gameplay mechanics, is not fun for me. I sit there, for 3-5 minutes, watching someone perform their first move, only to have summoned over 12 monsters throughout their turn, and defeat me. It is boring, illogical, and unfair for anyone that doesn't have the newer cards in their deck. Yu Gi Oh isn't fun like this. I'll go back to the old games, with the old cards, and the more logical gameplay mechanics.

Welcome to modern Yu-Gi-Oh. Its a lot more different than it used to be. Yes, The infinite combos are kind of a problem, but that where the game is at now, and you simply must adapt and use hand traps, etc. Yeah, the meta keeps you from playing the decks you really want to, because ranked is the only way to move up in the battle pass and unlock the good rewards. Doing career mode will get you a good amount of gems at first, but once you're done with it, you have no choice to move on to ranked duels.
Themed challenges and tournaments with special restrictions and structure decks are what make it refreshing. Special restriction events are what you need to look for if you hate the current meta so much. Either way its a card game that lives in a program that basically boils down to a math equation and if you don't want to adapt to its function than don't play or wait for the themed challenges. Speaking of which, they should definitely feature way more themed and tiered challenges with structure decks and limitations to give more options for people out there that arent the meta ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Still, if you are active in the fandom and keen to deck build strategies like stall, burn, sweep, punish, you can still build clever decks to meet the challenge and have fun imo. I would say the meta has improved on the banlist and restrictions lately to make it a lot more balanced, even, and fair, but there's always a definitive pull on the meta no matter what changes they make. If you're a long time player and want a way to duel on the go and play, just for fun, or for tournaments/meta, this game is great imo. Just be ready to deal with the mental gymnastics of the effect chain dynamics and combos. And youre def gonna have to be willing to adapt to the meta if you want to keep playing, its a pretty serious dedication and not very casual as you progress. its def not for everyone, but it is really cool that it encompasses (almost) the entire catalogue and you have the freedom to build and play whatever deck you want for free.

I really enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and Master Duel, but honestly, I miss what Yu-Gi-Oh! used to feel like.

Back then, duels felt more balanced and interactive. Now, it often comes down to watching your opponent play for several minutes, building an unstoppable board, and ending the game in the first turn. There’s barely any chance to respond—it doesn’t feel like a duel anymore.

The game has also become incredibly complex. With so many mechanics and effects, it’s hard to keep track of what’s happening, especially if you’re not playing meta decks yourself.

And to even to have a litte chance to compete at that level, it feels like you’re almost forced to invest a lot of time AND money just to keep up.

What disappoints me the most is that the spirit of Yu-Gi-Oh! feels lost. The whole idea of the “heart of the cards,” represented by Yugi Muto, was about connection, respect, and actual dueling—not just executing perfect combos.

It’s still a good and polished game, but right now it feels more like a combo simulator than the Yu-Gi-Oh! I grew up with.

Ce jeu est mal fait. Après 4 d'existences des problèmes absurdes persistes du visiblement à un manque d'intelligence des gens qui le supervisent. Pour donner un exemple vous pouvez commencer 8 games en second pour regarder un mec jouer 5 minutes et vous finir en 1 minute. L'esthétique "loli" de plusieurs archétype est également problématique. De plus le système économique est basé sur une arnaque, car tous les drops sont basés sur de l'aléatoire. Ce jeu à de bons principes, mais est gaché par tous ces défauts. The actual game is good, modern yugioh is just unplayable.

Plenty of places you can read why that is the case so I won't bother typing it all out.

In terms of solutions though I think adding different formats and rulsets for each yugioh era (goat, gx, etc) with ranked categories each would fix the game.

The game isn’t bad, but I reckon many people would still prefer an updated single-player Yu-Gi-Oh! game similar to *Legacy of the Duelist*, so we can enjoy the game at our own pace without having to spend all day grinding for cards and focusing on online play.
I like the franchise, but the company’s total focus on an online game puts me off investing in its new games. I hope that in the future it will release a game like this, focused on single-player mode, whilst also having a separate section for those who want to compete online.
If that were to happen, I’d happily pay for the game on launch day just to have fun with Yu-Gi-Oh! again without worrying about having to grind.
