Had potential but then got really obnoxious in the second mission.
Loved Riftbreaker, love tower defense games..... this just doesn't feel great.

In the second mission, the area of operation kept opening more and more.
That is fine and all for later missions but the second mission? Did we really need to expand the area of operation twice? The towers themselves don't do the greatest amount of damage and I can't upgrade them on mission two on top of the fact resources to build towers or upgrade revolves on you manually swapping to a different flight mode then manually using a button to vacuum resources that have timed life after something is dead.

I'm sorry but this heavy mix of twin stick shooter and tower defense just not fun at all when you make the mechanics annoying.

个人认为好玩的地方：
塔防和飞行射击两种玩法融合的很好。
击杀敌人与破坏建筑的视觉反馈做的很好，看着非常解压。
可以用围墙以及击倒建筑的方式改变与延长敌人的路径，给敌人搭迷宫有种意外的爽感。
各种塔和武器的功能与对策性明确，没有什么晦涩难懂的设计，学习成本不高。

Вполне добротный Tower Defence. Со своими уникальные механики по типу динамического пути противников, где ты можешь менять прямо во время боя их передвижение или заранее проделывать пути для более выгодного расположения башен. Сами башни в лёгкую можно изменять для лучшей стратегии и победы. Да и самолёт под управлением игрока сам по себе самостоятельно может держать целую линию, даже когда по ней идут крупные и тяжело-бронированные враги. Подходит как для лёгкой бездумной игры, так и для тех, кто хочет проверить свои стратегические навыки на практике

++拉墙造迷宫很帅，层层叠叠的迷宫拉网，相比普通塔防有一层别样爽感。
-也因此会无视迷宫的跳跳很烦，空军倒是还好。
+缝合的俯瞰射击，也能弥补塔防常见的“波次中没事干”的问题，并且设计的也不至于喧宾夺主（不如说冲榜角度更鼓励你别射击，乖乖捡垃圾）。
++画面、打击感优秀，炮击和轰炸有足够的音效、爆炸碎片反馈，爽感拉满。
-生存模式高波次（30+）在PS4/5版闪退率很高……不过高配PC应该还好吧。
+各种超重型坦克、直升机以及BOSS的设计很合我XP。
+塔定位清晰，虽然没给明确的数据但各塔的功能基本一目了然，上手方便，不需要太多计算，也赋予了关卡不少灵活应变的动态性。
-但生存模式高波次时，各塔的定位就会变得很微妙……

This is one of the best tower defense games out there. It's rather well balanced and you have the choice to play as you want really. If you're going for the 100%, sure you have to play on the harder game modes, but if you want to do a casual play, you also can.

it's not that complicated and it's fun to figure out the best layout and towers to keep the humans away.

I always forget you guys also made the riftbreaker.
but i love that you put a reference to this game there too.

For a game released 9 years ago this is surprisingly fun.

What sets this game apart from other TD games is the perfect balance of player agency vs tower agency. In X-Morph every tower is powerful and so are you. This means you can safely rely on your towers to focus ground troops while you deal with air units or the other way around, or when s**t gets crazy you and your towers will be doing both.

If you're new to TD games it does a fantastic job of introducing some of the advance techniques used in TD games bit by bit. The game loves to throw curve balls out there but when your towers are destroyed you're fully refunded the energy cost. Same for salvaging. So as the story progresses within each stage and the map opens up you've got infinite time to redesign your maze.

If you're a fan of bullet hell games you'll find some enjoyment here too. The stages that do have bosses are absolute nightmares. They're giant multi-part, multi-weapon and multi-f**k-the-rules mecha designed to wreck your s**t! Oh and when the bosses aren't around 90% of the units in the game can fire at you too and they're unleashed each wave by the hundreds.

Some decisions made by the developers are just insulting more than bad. I'm playing on normal difficulty cause it's my first time playing the game. I don't care that I beat Joe Bloggs's score by X amount and how dare you give me a bronze medal after cutting my score in half because I'm on normal, then tell me I only beat 54% of players.

1. 유닛과 세계관 톤이 어울리지 않는다. SF 메카닉이 20세기 건물들과 톤이 전혀 융화되지 않는다.

Игра сама по себе интересная и залипательная... но куча негатива от технической части.

Игра ни в какую не хочет загружать меню (после интро), пока я не остановлю принудительно игру через стим — а это почему-то занимает 5 минут. Винда при этом не даёт убить процесс игры ("Отказано в доступе", хотя я админ). Не знаю, как это работает.
Кэш игры проверял. Но очень много надо танцевать с бубном, чтобы её ПРОСТО ЗАПУСТИТЬ.

Но если всё же запустите, то увидите 80 фпс 1% low. Приходится включать фреймген от драйвера, чтобы оно не тормозило.

А ещё в игре есть баги, не критичные для кампании, но бесячие: иногда не ставится забор, пока не переставишь турель на клетку.

В режиме выживания я в награду за волну выбрал лазер... и мне его не дали. Ни в эту волну, ни в следующую. Другие турели на выбор дают. Это уже критичный баг, без лазера танки только вручную отстреливать...
А ещё в выживании сохранения, видимо, каждые 5 волн - дико неудобно. Прошёл 7 волн, вышел в меню, зашёл обратно... а там снова 5 волну играть... Ну что за бредятина?

I've played through this game roughly twice by now (excluding DLC as of writing). It's quite entertaining and can be pretty difficult to manage quick actions at times when you have to make quick choices about what's the highest threat on the field at a moment's notice. The freeform tower-defense style of this game makes for a great time. The story's not much of a story and just dressing for the carnage.
What really sells the game is the fully active involvement akin to games like sanctum 2 (or to a lesser degree the minigun monkey in BTD.) Each tool in your personal ship feels impactful in their own ways but I find that I mainly end up using the laser or the bomber. The tower upgrades are extremely game-changing and require you to think strategically about where it makes sense to cheap out for a cheap wall-focused tower and where to splurge for extreme collateral damage. Pick it up, it's great.

X-Morph: Defense is a genre bending game that combines tower defense strategy with twin stick shooter action. The game uses the setting of a typical alien invasion with you in the role of the invaders. You are part of the X-Morph, a hivemind of artificial intelligences. The X-Morph are constantly on the search for more resources and energy to expand their reach and this time their target is earth.
Your job is to protect various cores around the planet that will ensure that the harvesting of the planet runs smoothly. Of course mankind isn't thrilled about the alien invaders and will send everything they have to stop you.

The core gameplay centers around the tower defense strategy. Enemies will attack in waves and you have to stop them from reaching and destroying the core. You can place various tower structures on the battlefield and link those towers to create fences that the enemies have to move around. Your basic plasma tower has good range and damage but a poor attack rate which makes it hard to deal with the insane number of enemies that will come your way. Luckily the X-Morph have a trick up their non-existent sleeve, they can morph their structures into other towers. The standard plasma tower can be specialized into four different types of towers and these can further be specialized into two towers. This will cost you resources but an upgraded tower can be morphed freely into another spezializiation.
These specializations are meant to deal with various threats that the army wil send. Artillery towers have long range and AoE, good to deal with clusters of enemies or to deal with enemy artillery that can take down your towers. Lasers are single target high damage to deal with heavy tanks. Lasers get stronger over time when they concentrate on a target. Anti Air towers deal with air forces but cannot target ground units. Lastly the flame thrower has short range but deals constant damage over time, even after they leave his reach.

But even with all these towers, resources are limited and you won't be able to stop them all by relying on your structures. This is where your fighter comes in. You operate a fighter jet that can attack both land and air units and even charge a strong attack that pierces through enemies. This allows you to get more involved with the battles and support your towers when needed. Your fighter can also morph into different shapes that allow for solutions to different problems.

The enemy variety in this game is also impressive. Enemies come in three main types, ground units, air assault and air support. Ground and air assault are similiar, they target your core and take the fastest route to it. For ground unit this means they have to navigate through your mace of towers but air units can just fly over your towers. Air support are units that target [b]you[/b]! They won't attack your core or your towers and instead chase you down in order to stop you from helping your towers. You can avoid them by phasing into "ghost mode" which make sit impossible to attack you but you also unable to attack. In Ghost Mode you also can build your structures and collect debris from fallen enemies which fills your resources. The X-Morph do not waste.
Enemies will provide the player with different problems that he has to solve. Ground units can provide artillery that will take down your towers if you don't take care of them. They also can have foot soldiers or jetpack users that jump over fences but have less health.
Air Assault can use bombers that will destroy any tower in their path as they move to the core. This means players have to move their towers if they don't want to lose them.
But the most impressive enemies are the bosses. Some missions will have gigantic bossses with multiple destroyable parts that fire a barrage of attacks at your fighter jet. Fighting these bosses is incredibly fun and will turn the rules of the game on their head.

Some missions also have side objectives that can provide the player with extra resources if fulfilled, like using a tower to hijack a power grid or destroying a convoy before it can escape.

The game also makes full use of it's environment. No alien invasion would be complete without massive destruction and the entire environment is fully destructible. This isn't just here to look good, this can give the player new strategic options. You can destroy bridges to cut of routes for the enemies, you can destroy buildings to use the debris as blockade or to remove an obstacle so enemies have another way to move through. Using this to your advantage allows you to funnel enemies through your defenses multiple times.

I also have to compliment the graphics, they look amazing, especially for a nine year old game. The maps, units and towers have lot of details that makes the destruction much more fun.

This game also has a co-op mode which I didn't try out but if you have a friend to play with, you might want to invite him.

I also love the over-the-top acting of the voice actors. The game leans really heavily into the "Hollywood alien invasion movie" trope and the main antagonist, the General, absolutely hams up his speeches. On the other end of the spectrum is your advisor, the X-Morph hive mind, who is more calmly collected, but cold and calculating, offering you pieces of advice how to deal effectively with enemies.

That being said, fi there is one criticism that I have to make, it would be the difficulty. The game has different difficulty settings but on every settings the enemy forces always feel overwhelming. Beating the game isn't hard but beating it with no damage is because enemies will constantly slip through your defenses and you cannot be everywhere at once.
But I love the game and someone who is much better at the game as I am will probably tell you that this isn't a real problem and just skill issue.
Also, the game has a free demo, so just try that out first and decide for yourself if you want to buy the game afterwards.

I like the game but multiple times I have had the game bug out. Currently I am doing the story mode and only at the 3rd country and wave 4 keeps bugging to wear it won't spawn the last enemies which is preventing me from completing the wave and moving on. I'd like to play the rest of the campaign but cannot due to this issue.

X-Morph: Defense is a Tower Builder, Bullet Hell and Isometric Shooter all in one, you play as a X-Morph a alien who's sole mission is to the defend the core, a machine designed to rip Earths resources away and destroy the forces of humanity who is throwing everything they have to stop you, after fully completing the game i'll give some pro's, neutrals and cons.

PRO'S:
-Good effects and explosions with tons of particle effects, visually a good looking game
-Being able to control both a ship you can attack with and build towers is a unique blend of genres that works quite well with each other
-Has Co-Op if you want to play with a friend, "I played on Solo so that's what my review will be based on"
-Each mission gives you upgrades points that you can use to make either your ship, towers or core stronger making mission easier as you play the game
-Giving the ship a stealth ability while in build mode is helpful and gives you a second to think without being attacked
-Being able to create gates to cut off paths is useful
-Good gameplay that is fun and engaging
-Destroyable environment that can be used to block paths and adds realism to the game
-Fully voice acted
-Outside of the campaign there is also a survival mode if you want to keep playing once your done with the story
-Good performance, no lag or crashes

NEUTRAL'S: "No Score Change From These"
-Game never really explains who the aliens are and what their goal is outside of collecting energy and resources
-Juggling ship attack mode, build mode and scrap collecting all at once can be a bit much on Solo
-Difficulty average, not really too easy or too hard, probably easier in co-op than in solo but i managed to beat it in solo just fine
-Game length for full completion about 8+ hours

CON'S:
-Tower building menu can sometimes bug out and not open properly
-Cliff hanger ending and it's been 9 years since this game came out so the story has probably been abandoned, sequel is unlikely
-Enemy units will sometimes get stuck on a gate or wall for a second until it corrects itself and goes back to the path

Overall X-Morph: Defense is a pretty good tower building game and a unique one at that due to the blend of multiple genres, it's a very solid game in terms of gameplay and if your someone who likes Tower Defense games you will no doubt like this game just fine, but as always, It's.. Up.. To.. You and i'll leave it at that. (^_−).

A really fun top-down action tower defense, story is good and gameplay is great.

You're the alien invading earth and it's so satisfying to destroy humans. Be the villain!

After you complete the game, you can easily modify the game files and break the turrets and whole game to have little bit more fun.

太难了，非常难。到底谁才是外星人啊？？？人类各种逆天科技吊打外星人啊！每一波攻击大概率会变更路线增加新路线，所以每一波攻击间歇都要重新调整部署，重新规划路线，玩的就非常累，最终波的boss会不断摧毁你的防御塔，你需要不停地跟随boss的移动，建设新的防御塔和调整旧的防御塔位置，而且UI很蹩脚导致手忙脚乱玩的非常心累。早知道不买DLC了。浪费钱

Next to Defense Grid a top of the line tower defense game. Great context and visuals, great action. High replay value also. Just enjoy this. Looking at the percentages on the badges this is likely considered a tough game to beat. It is doable, but pay attention on how you place the towers. You get plenty of hints on how to do this in the game.

很不错的塔防游戏，给了玩家极高性能与操作空间的同时也给了极大敌军压力，缺点主要是单位数量还是少了一些，而dlc的补充单位/机制基本是用一次就丢，技巧很多，但是策略性稍差一点，后期基本都是堆火力。经济和敌军死亡暴的残骸挂钩，残骸又会消失，导致分撒塔防玩家跑不过来，不如在家门口堆防御。
