This is the story of Eda, a girl in her early 20s. Like anyone in her age, she’s lost. She lost her way in the journey to achieve her dreams. She lost her way in the journey to find love. That was until she met The Owl. The man that would help her burn her passion, the man that would help her find the spark in a relationship, and also the man that would teach her about heartbreak.

没有一句台词，却让我全程鼻酸。
温柔的手绘、轻柔的小提琴，把一段相遇、相爱、别离的故事，藏在一间间旧房间里。跟着Eda，一点点翻开回忆：阳光、琴声、烟火、拥抱，那些细碎又温暖的瞬间，越美好，越让人难过。
解谜很轻，更像是在捡拾时光碎片。每点开一个物件，都是一次重逢，也是一次刺痛。你会看见爱意有多滚烫，离别就有多安静。它不刻意煽情，却用最平淡的画面，讲透了遗憾、思念与放不下。
走到结局才懂，这不是一场怀念，而是一场自愈。我们陪着Eda，和过去握手言和，和遗憾好好告别。

主要还是叙事和画风但是游戏表现上没有很出彩的地方，总体基调比较平缓（毕竟算是个BE故事）
虽然但是 [spoiler] 我真的以为猫头鹰是爸爸角色直到第二章……中间女主收集回忆往事，我想着猫头鹰终究还是无了，最后女主真的重新振作重拾音乐了还和猫头鹰进入结尾曲目双人演奏，搞得我以为女主是收集亡夫圣遗物成功了（？）没想到制作组塞了个大刀子在结尾曲之后……结果还是永失所爱 [/spoiler]

Oh my, where to start...
I absolutely loved this game, a friend gifted it to me for my birthday and i can say that was the most beautiful and meanful experience. Every moment there was a completely journey. The puzzles were really good, the art and omg the MUSIC, i literally cried in every chapter (love u Owl!!) so best gift ever.

If you really like a cozy game with good music and wonderful short history this game is for you.

Relatively short amount of time required to finish the game but moved me emotionally. 8/10 with the music and art design getting a 10/10. The 8 comes from the occasional puzzle-solving bug I experienced. For a game that released in 2020, I would expect these known bugs on PC to have been patched out by now.

完全拒绝不了回忆性的游戏，画面整体看着非常舒适，平涂的绘画风格给人一种很轻松的感觉。
游戏内基本上是同一个曲子的各种变体反复播放，但完全不会让人觉得烦厌，反而越听越觉得走进了故事。
还有一点非常喜欢的是场景内能互动的东西不多，但是多数物品都能进行点击，而且点击会有完全不一样的音效，给基本上每个物品都设计了很真实的点触音效，非常喜欢这点！！
故事整体长度大约在一个半小时的样子，解谜难度不高，故事体验感很好。

There is a cute story here, but it is buried underneath some of the most tedious "point and click" game design I've encountered in a long time. All you really do is pan from left to right, clicking everything in the environment hoping to find a key or puzzle item. During this process, the game tirelessly loops the same melody (by design I admit, as it's the song your character's heart is tied to), which makes everything feel that much more monotonous. I would buy it to support the developer but can't really recommend playing it. Watch on YouTube instead.

关于存档只能一章一存，从章节中间退出去再进来很不方便。

评测到底为什么没有一个中间的选项，真的不是很想推荐。玩的很煎熬，像在火上烤。年纪大了真的不适合玩这种俗套的煽情游戏了，过动画的时候还不能快进，像热锅上的蚂蚁。整个游戏画风和音乐还可以，解密偏简单，整个故事真的太无聊了，我都能猜到会发生什么，这个游戏主要就是卖情怀，但故事讲述的细节也不是很细节，想煽情又无法让人感动，年轻时买的游戏耽误了现在的我宝贵的109分钟，真想回去给我自己一巴掌。

I’m giving this a good review because the puzzles in this game are done really really well. I really enjoyed that aspect a lot compared to other puzzle games I’ve played. It’s also a beautiful/aesthetic game.
But honestly I think some of you are lying about the story. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I got to the end and was more ??wtf?? Did I just watch. That being said, still a great game.

I've always loved these narrative based story games, and I went into this thinking it was gonna be essentially the same as all the other ones I played, but boy was I wrong. When The Past Was Around was so much more intimate and loving than most, and I really enjoyed that. there were multiple times I cried tears of joy, tears of sadness, and even tears of confusion, and I rarely cry/show much emotion in video games, even sad ones, but this game just brought that out of me in the best way. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a niche simple narrative game to try! PS., if you follow a guide, you can get all the achievements in one playthrough! Byeee! :D

音樂好聽、美術也很棒，玩法是類似密室逃脫的組合物件玩法。前期的謎題設計都還行，但從大約第 3 章開始謎題的品質愈發糟糕，如果你腦袋沒有對上設計者的奇異思路將會玩得十分痛苦。劇情本身也比較抽象，前期講學習的挫折 (摔小提琴這點我真的無法接受... 這女人真恐怖)，然後中間又硬轉戀愛劇，愛人的形象和故事場景也不知道是現實還是內心世界，結局又想圓回學習樂器，整個莫名其妙。

這遊戲的高好評率和劇情表現，讓我想起了我最近棄看的《怪奇物語》。如果你平常看美劇玩遊戲大腦經常放空不加思索，那這遊戲對你來說可能是個可以打發時間的佳作。如果你是對劇情邏輯比較敏感，或是注重謎題設計脈絡的玩家，你在後期的遊玩過程將會感受到開發者在用他那像吸毒才能想到的謎題邏輯不停侵犯你的大腦，我個人不推薦你玩這款遊戲。

zerei o jogo em mais ou menos 2h e meia. esteticamente, o jogo é bem bonito, e gostei da a premissa do jogo se tratar do processo do luto e não uma história de amor (como visualmente voce espera, na minha visão pelo menos). mas eu faria algumas mudanças. acredito que seria interessante ter mais partes onde que seja possível interagir na tela, pois muito do jogo você só assiste e clica em notas musicais (o que deixa parado até demais). resumindo, é um jogo bonitinho, mas não acho que vale quase 30 reais.

When the Past was Around is a relatively short game with very nice, cozy music and comes with a very distinct art style. It has creative puzzles and some of them are not obvious - which can be frustrating at times. The story however did not deliver. When I completed Eda's journey i was left confused awkwardly. If they had "patch" up the picture frame, that might have made a little bit more sense and give closure ...right now i feel like Eda's world revolves around a 6 foot owl that loves playing the violin while donning a freakishly long scarf. >_<

short game, i was taking time with it so it took me 2.5hrs to finish, but you can probably do it in a single sitting of 2hrs.
it doesn't have cloud saves, so you have to just do it on the same PC.
overall fun game, would recommend, a short and sweet emotional story with no much fluff and nice music and art.

Ich wusste das dass Spiel traurig ist, aber das ganze nochmal mit der Musik und dem Zeichenstil zu erleben ist dann nochmal was anderes :')
Der Zeichenstil ist wirklich wunderschön und passt wirklich zu der Geschichte. Die Musik ist auch wirklich toll und verändert sich immer passend zur Stimmung und dem erlebten. Die Rätsel sind meistens einfach, manche waren aber auch etwas verwirrend. Die Achievements schafft man fast alle nebenbei beim Spielen und die anderen kann man durch die Kapitelauswahl gut und schnell nachholen. Die Story hat genau die richtige länge. Nicht zu lang dass es sich zieht aber auch nicht zu kurz. Die Story an sich ist wirklich herzzerreißend da man sowohl die negativen als auch die positiven Erinnerungen von Eda und Owl begleitet und es dann noch schmerzhafter ist, Abschied zu nehmen. Alles in allem ein schönes kurzweiliges Spiel (ca 1,5 - 2 Stunden) wenn man mal wieder so richtig heulen will.

игра короткая и при этом слишком медленная в повествовании, в кликании на ноты, где ты должен ждать мучительное время, чтобы они просто сыграли музыку, в переходе от комнат к комнате (ну давайте я подожду на белом экране 3 секунды по пять раз, чтобы взять из прошлой комнаты ведро или поискать там что-то, что мне нужно в новой комнате, мне же делать нечего). Сюжет никакой, просто об утрате, но большего в это не завезли - я с раздавленной мною улитки больше триггернулась и страдала, чем от этой игры. Ещё таймлайны непонятны - в начале игры Эда [i] уже [/i] одна или [i] ещё [/i] одна? Почему нам сначала показывают кладбище, а потом только долгую утрату? Путь героини не очень понятен: что там у неё со скрипкой и музыкальной карьерой, я так и не поняла. То ли Филин ей помог снова полюбить музыку, то ли он её ей научил вообще с нуля.
С символизмом в этой игре тоже для меня проблемы - почему Филин есть Филин? Почему он превращается в камни? Почему сидит в клетке? Логичное объяснение только то, что он скован самой Эдой как воспоминание, которое она отказывается отпускать.

Из плюсов:
Головоломки нормальные, иногда слишком простоваты, а иногда я сидела над ними минут по 5 (игра с филинами и воробьями привет).
Рисовка очень красивая, Филин просто очаровательный, очень понравилось варить чай и кушать печеньки.

Проходить эту игру я начала еще пару лет назад (пиратка), а с приходом в стим очень захотелось ее приобрести и перепройти.

A really beautiful point and click game where you journey through memories to revisit someone you love that. Full of puzzles, charming melodies of music, and heartfelt cut scenes, it paints a picture of when the past was around and where your lost one still lingers. When The Past Was around is a pretty short but ok point and click.
It has a story about grief and music told through the game and not dialogue or text.
The puzzles were all super simple so this is not for those looking for a challenging puzzle experience.
If you like cozy and very easy point and clicks this is for you, personally I think I would have wanted more either in terms of story or puzzles, maybe even both.

Game is incredibly one note. Most puzzles are simple "Click on everything" "Obviously labeled keys" and then the occasional better puzzle that unfortunately doesn't have great signals on whether they're supposed to be solved now or later.

This would be serviceable if the story was... serviceable. It's a dialog free story, but it doesn't really change, just repeats. I could sum the whole thing up in one sentence, but I won't because some people would rather not be spoiled.

If it had done either side a bit better, I could forgive the shortcomings of the other, but sadly, it just isn't deep enough to make for a game.

O game em si não é tão desafiador mas em alguns momentos é preciso pensar bem em como resolver alguns puzzles, porém acredito que o foco principal é o enredo, que é incrível!

Это прекрасная игра. Прекрасная во всём!
Пусть маленькая и ёмкая, без диалогов и описаний - это не мешает ей рассказать цепляющую историю. Здесь есть и приятная музыка ласкающая слух, и тёплая цветовая палитра, и рисовка, создающая ощущение уюта. В совокупности они образуют неповторимую атмосферу, игра чувствуется как что-то живое, настоящее. Такой крохотный хрупкий и нежный мир, в котором что-то... Сломалось

В "When The Past Was Around" поднимается тема утраты близкого человека, а если быть точнее, то её принятие.
Не побег от источника боли, не поиск замены, а именно принятие, которое позволяет жить дальше. При таком пути счастливые воспоминания, моменты прошлого не омрачаются, а становятся той силой, что двигает тебя вперед.
Это... сложно описать, но думаю поиграв в эту игру, вы меня поймете.

Для меня это был бесценный опыт, и я бесконечно благодарен авторам за то, что позволили мне его пережить. Еще один приятный незабываемый вечер в копилку жизни))

When the Past Was Around es un juego bastante corto de point and click, pero no necesita más tiempo del que tiene para decir lo que quiere decir. Desde el inicio se siente como una experiencia íntima, casi silenciosa, donde el arte y la música hacen más trabajo emocional que cualquier diálogo explícito.

El juego habla de algo profundamente humano: lo complicado que es lidiar con la muerte de alguien que amas, con los recuerdos que se quedan, con los espacios vacíos y con la sensación de que el mundo sigue avanzando aunque tú no estés listo. No lo aborda desde el drama exagerado, sino desde lo cotidiano, lo sutil y lo melancólico. Todo se siente contenido, respetuoso y honesto.

Visualmente es muy bonito. Su estilo artístico es suave, cálido y expresivo, y ayuda muchísimo a transmitir emociones sin necesidad de palabras. La música acompaña de forma perfecta: no distrae ni roba protagonismo, simplemente está ahí, envolviendo la experiencia y haciéndola más llevadera durante el tiempo que dura el juego.

Ein kurzes, aber dafür wundervoll gestaltetes Spiel. Die Rätsel waren überwiegend recht selbsterklärend nur ein oder zwei Mal bin ich etwas ins Stocken gekommen.
Alles in einem ist das Spiel so niedlich gestaltet und die Story lässt mich etwas nachdenklich zurück. Alles in einem, auch wenn das Spiel recht kurz gehalten ist, finde ich es wundervoll! Es zeigt auf seine einzigartige Weise, dass man die Momente im Leben schätzen soll, die man miteinander verbringt und dass auch über alles hinaus Menschen miteinander verbunden bleiben.

I dont know how i kept it in till the end. Now ive been crying for 30 minutes. It hurts. I am surrounded by memories I cannot escape. Not in my room, not at my job, not in my head. I need to let the music play so that I can eventually sing my song again. I know I can do it, but its so hard. Its hurts so much. I cant run from it yet I want to so bad. I want them back so bad. When the Past Was Around is a beautiful and emotional puzzle game about love and loss. The story is told without words, using art and music instead and it works really well. The puzzles are simple but meaningful and they fit the story perfectly. The art style is cute and melancholic and the soundtrack is very calming. It’s a short game but it leaves a strong emotional impact. Definitely recommended if you enjoy story-focused and relaxing games.

Second playthrough and I absolutely love this game.

It's cozy, emotional, and captivating. The puzzles start simple and slowly get a bit more challenging, but they’re always manageable. Everything flows nicely with the story.

Eda and her owl's story focuses on loss, love, and learning how to let go while cherishing the memories. Absolutely captivating from start to finish. Beautiful and bittersweet!

Gioco appassionante, musica eccellente, coinvolgente ed immersivo oltre che molto emotivo. La grafica sublime permette al giocatore di entrare ancora più in empatia con il personaggio femminile. La scelta dei colori in base alle emozioni sono dettagli curatissimi e che da giocatrice non posso che apprezzare.
Consigliato se si cerca un gioco a rompicapi con una storia molto emotiva e coinvolgente.

Fikrimce,
[spoiler] Oyunun başlarında birkaç fotoğrafta Eda ve sevgilisi ile resmi var, ama fotoğraf yırtılmış adamın yüzü gözükmüyor. Baykuş olarak tasvir edilmiş .. Birkaç bölüm sonra bir mezarlık karşımıza çıkıyor. Bu farklı yorumlanabilir tabii benim düşüncem Eda sevgilisini uzun zaman önce kaybetmiş, mezarlığın önünde baykuş heykeli bulunmakta. Zamanla Eda sevgilisinin yüzünü ve anılarını unutuyor, müziğe olan ilgisini de sevgilisi ile paylaştığı için müzikle arasına mesafe giriyor ve bu onu yıpratmaya başlıyor.
Eda anılarında parçaları birleştirerek hatırlamaya çalışıyor, bir nevi kabulleniyor. Gris kadar olmasada hikayesinde belli bir yas ve kabullenme sürecini işliyor, müzikle barışıyor . [/spoiler]
