Out of the couple of Warhammer games I've played this is definitely a fun one especially if you're curious of the tabletop game as many of the feature are "kinda" similar. I'm a fan of the blood angels and have been having fun with them but I'm curious to try some of the DLC in the future. I think the price is fair because just with the two factions you can definitely get your time out of it and it's even better if you can grab it on a sale, that's very recommended. The only gripe I have with it current is the DLC though I'm sure it's good enough content is too expensive with too many campaigns.

キャンペーンその他のシングルモードを粗方遊びました
40時間くらいは熱中して遊んでいるという前提で以下のレビューをお読み下さい

傲慢な考え方ですがプレイが40時間くらいを超えると、大凡の最適解が直ぐに導き出されてしまう事に気付いてシングルはやらなくなってしまいました
CPUの行動パターンが直線的なのでその部分に完全に慣れると展開が同じになりやすいです
反面、難易度設定が非常に豊富で細かく自分好みにキャンペーンもスカーミッシュもいじれる事はストラテジーとして理想的
ですが難易度が変わっても戦術が一緒ならやっている事は同じになるので非常に残念
勿論それでもこの作品に心底惚れた人なら、ここまで難易度を自分で調整できるなら、私なんかよりも遥かに長く遊べるでしょうし、私の知らないこのゲームの深みを知っているかも

キャンペーンの難易度調整なのですが全て最高にするとクリアが出来ないレベルになります
「誰でもクリアできる」～「誰もクリアできない」間を調整できるのが私は理想だと考えるタイプなのですが(自由に調整できるとはそういう幅であっていいはず)でもやはり敵の戦術レベルは変わらないので同じ事を繰り返しているという認識からは私は抜けられなかったです
戦術が同じ、というのはチェスで言えば全く技量の上達がない相手とずっと対戦し続けるようなもので飽きるのは必然
どんなにチェスが深いゲーム性を持っていても、無数の戦術とやりあえるから楽しみは尽きないのであって、絶対に勝てる相手と対局し続けたらむしろ虚しいでしょう
しかしコンピューターゲームのストラテジーは全容を把握するまでが楽しいわけで、上記の理由によって今作が悪い作品だとは全く思わないです
ジャンルは違いますがシムシティなどの街づくりゲーム等、最初は知識がないので街づくりが上手くいかないから上手く行く方法を考えて実際にやってみて上手く行って楽しい、この知識の広がりをそのゲームの全要素にまで及んだ時ほとんどの人はそこでプレイを止める、こういうものだと思います
ただ、その作品に惚れた人達は普通のプレイヤーが及びもつかない遊び方をしだしたりするもので、結局限界に達していると思うのは自分の問題のような気もします

There's a bug that occurs when I swap my position in a Skirmish match. My units are floating in the air, it would be funny if it didn't hid the aiming and movement spaces, Forcing me to guess where my cursor thinks a space is or just set overwatch for maximum range at turns end and hope I can hit my shots at max range. This also occurs when I try and swap back and this time another bug appears my deployment zone has shifted to the left and now I'm wasting movement trying to get my units back onto any visable tiles. Its a fun game overall but this is a very annoying issue.

Really enjoyed the game. Play Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Nids, and Orks on tabletop. This is the closest you can get to tabletop without playing tabletop. Enjoyed the campaign a lot - was a really good introduction to the game systems and was paced well. Took about 24 hours to complete the campaign on normal.

Planetary supremacy was actually really fun. Some reviews and forums comments apparently dont enjoy it. I did. I like the system and it was a good way to enjoy the game.

Easily recommend this game if you play tabletop. If you are new to WH40k, this is a good starting point. Great game. Really looking forward to the upcoming content per the roadmap.

Love this game. Great Campaign and the crusade game mode is just a mode you can get lost in and repeat over and over again. Перед нами тактическая стратегия, которая переносит принципы настольного варгейма Warhammer 40,000 в формат компьютерной игры. Бои проходят в пошаговом режиме, а успех зависит от правильного использования сильных и слабых сторон каждого юнита, правильного позиционирования и продуманного состава армии.
Разные подразделения выполняют свои роли на поле боя, а часть юнитов можно настраивать через систему вооружения. Это позволяет формировать отряды под конкретные задачи и комбинировать их так, чтобы они компенсировали слабости друг друга.

[b]Сюжетные компани.[/b] Их тут две:
1. Эпоха багрового рассвета. Основная кампания на 20 миссий про зачистки родной планеты ордена космодесанта Кровавые Ангелы — Баал Секундус — от остатков роя тиранидов флота-улья Левиафан. Да, в центре истории наконец-то не Ультрамарины или Кровавые Вороны, а Кровавые Ангелы.
2. Свершения павших. Компания из 12 миссий за Адепта Сороритас (Сестер битвы), она продается отдельно в dlc - Deeds of the Fallen.

[b]Несюжетный контент.[/b]:
- "Вторжение демонов" - бои с отражением волн демонов;
- [u]"Господство над планетой"[/u] - пожалуй самый интересный режим напоминающий захват планеты в компании Dark Crusade;
- "Крестовый поход" - рогалик про череду последовательных битв;
- "Пользовательские компании" - как я понимаю игра по сценариям созданным другими игроками;
- ну и просто режим "Схватки", один бой на заранее настроенных условиях.

[b]Фракции.[/b]
Сейчас в игре помимо Кровавых Ангелов и Адепта Сороритас доступны армии Тиранидов, Орков, Некронов, Тау, Астра Милитарум, Демонов Кхорна и Космодесантников предателей из Чёрного Легиона, в них можно поиграть в режимах схватки и пользовательских кампаний.

[b]В итоге[/b]: Battlesector точно входит в мой личный топ-5 игр по Warhammer 40,000. Рекомендую всем любителям пошаговых тактик, варгеймов и Warhammer 40k.
Хочется пожелать игре дальнейшего развития, добавления новых фракций(я лично очень жду Адептус Механикус), а так же дополнения игры лором вселенной: больше текстов, описаний юнитов, вооружения и способностей с точки зрения истории мира Warhammer.

TLDR this is one of the best WH40k turn-based games out there (coming in a close second to WH40K: Sanctus Reach). Have only completed Act 1 but it's a joy so far. Units are relatively well balanced with good animations, special abilities and rule execution. The 'momentum' mechanic and special rules (not that well documented) may take a while to get used to but you can get by without them. A worthy addition to the WH40k franchise.

Great game and a lot of fun. Units look great and combat is so much better than other games of this genre the way you can have movement, then shoot, then move again. Overwatch is also a huge plus and is the key to the game really. If done well with overlapping fields of fire, the enemies turn will become your favorite part of the game.

My big gripe is the cheating of the AI when it comes to knowing exactly where your overwatch can and cant hit. I get not charging into my obvious killbox when you have LOS to those guys all twitching to fire, but a jumpack commander launching himself over a building (avoiding overwatch) deep into an area far past his line of sight where he then lands on the single square you arent overwatching. Watching melee enemies pull up short and run back and forth to use up rest of movement instead of charging you, or taking their shot 2 hexes outside their optimum range despite having movement left only because you are overwatching anything closer, often with units out of their sight range.. sigh

I would rather have difficulty regulated in other ways and have AI always behave as they didnt know where or even if I was overwatching.

You can play the Open Campaign (Planetary Supremacy), where you expand across a procedurally generated hex map and push into adjacent territories. Every neutral hex contains its own enemy force, so each step forward is a fight. As you progress, you unlock new units and special abilities. The base game lets you command Space Marines or Tyranids, but you’ll also run into AI‑controlled factions like the T’au and Khorne. Both the campaign map and the tactical battlefields are procedurally generated, and you can adjust terrain density with sliders, making every run feel fresh and highly replayable.

I’m currently playing the Linear Campaign: Age of Crimson, which has a very different structure. You start with a Sergeant and a handful of squads, then purchase additional units as you move through a scripted sequence of missions. Each scenario has specific objectives, and the story unfolds as you acquire new units and advance from battle to battle. There’s also a Daemonic Incursion defensive campaign, a Crusade campaign I haven’t tried yet, and standard Skirmish battles for quick matches.

The graphics are solid. You can zoom in and rotate the camera a full 360 degrees, and when you drop to ground level the pitch levels out so you can appreciate the depth of the battlefield. That matters, because elevation and blocking terrain affect attacks. My one gripe is that the middle‑mouse pitch control only tilts about 30 degrees—oddly limited—but since you can still get a proper ground‑level view, it’s not a deal‑breaker.

If you enjoy turn‑based tactics on the scale of Headquarters: World War II—that squad/company level feel—this is right in that lane. Even if you’re not a traditional Warhammer 40K player, there’s a lot to like here.

Its great and...meh at the same time! I don't play online so it seems limited to how much you can get into it after the main campaign....annnnnd........all the dlc's cost more than the game cost me to begin with which is a tad mental ( apart from khorne )
So much good stuff in here though with awesome models/graphics and the best being tyranid and astra millitarum... skirmish mode is king imo.
if you have a good circle of friends to play this game with, i can imagine it would be lush!

1. The game's price has doubled compared to its release price.
2. Even when you buy the game, you don't get full faction access because you still need to buy the "elite units" DLC to get the full experience.
3. The DLC prices are too high. I bought the game for the old price of $3, and now it's $6, while the DLC is also just under $6. What nonsense is this? The price should be $2-3 at most. What's with all this hamster-warming?
4. You can't select factions you haven't purchased as enemies in skirmishes.
5. The lack of "warp talons" in the Chaos DLC is wrong. Chaos has obliterators, but they lack warp talons (and the DLC itself is more about units in the form of daemonic constructs and Space Marines fused with their armor).
6. All paid DLC for the game except Chaos and Orks is garbage. Even the paid DLCs the developers made are terrible.
7. The game is good, I thoroughly enjoy it with only Blood Angels, but that doesn't justify dividing the game into a million DLCs.

Since the last DLC absolutely broken AI in crusade mode.

AI can literally charge through cover (which shouldn't be possible), can shoot through massive stone cliffs (which shouldn't be possible), can ignore armor on units (which shouldn't be possible) and can make much more of this nonsense. And many, many crashes.

This game was promising in the beginning but since the other studio took over it's just another DLC sale policy crap without balancing or bug fixing. The first two factions are unplayable because of power creep and the new released ones are OP on purpose to sell them better.

Sry, but this isn't fun or engaging, it's lazy work.

Bought it, played a a couple campaign missions, tried the crusade to the second level, and I don't want to go back to playing this game. It's just meh.

As others have pointed out, the AI is brain dead, early on it's hard to understand that (maybe there's some grand strategy?) but no, the AI simply sucks at this game.

WH40k: Battlesector looks pretty, the guns sound good and the visual effects are ok. But the core gameplay and progression - why bother? Multiplayer has 3 locked games, so much for that.

Worked well and no hassle on button mapping with my Legion Go 2. Graphics are great! Gameplay is sooo rich. Weapon, unit detail and all effects are on point and smooth at Ultra settings and 144hz. Since the release of DoW, im a DoW-generation WH40K fan. Gotta say never had held or played the minis/tabletop on this, but this feels right on my Legion Go 2, the planetary supremacy is a beast! Super enjoying it! Some say this is the digital version of a tabletop as closest I could get. Not sure if ever that is, then I'm really happy with this game. Waiting for Ultramarines DLC!!! Truly a great game, while waiting for DoW4 and Total Warhammer 40K, I got to wishlist these DLCs and queue em up!

Lange auf der Wunschliste, habe ich mich vor einigen Tagen nun doch entschlossen Warhammer 40k Battlesector zu kaufen. Ich kenne das Warhammer-Universum bedauerlicher Weise nur über einige PC-Spiele. Vieles ist mir noch unverständlich und bleibt mir wohl, mangels Kenntnis der Hintergründe verborgen. Dennoch spiele ich die Strategiespiele dieses Genres gerne, da sie meist anspruchsvoll und atmosphärisch sind. So auch bei diesem Spiel, dass mich ob der strategischen Möglichkeiten und des Spielspaßes angenehm überrascht hat.

Der Einstieg gestaltete sich, auch ohne tiefere Einblicke in die Spielwelt, relativ einfach. Lediglich das Verbessern der Einheiten machte mir zu Beginn etwas Probleme, da ich sie zum Teil noch nicht besessen habe und sie mir gänzlich unbekannt waren, so dass ich oft etwas unschlüssig war, wo ich meine Belohnungspunkte wohl am besten investieren sollte. Doch letztendlich, wenn man etwas umsichtig agiert, ist dies im Verlauf des Spieles zu meistern und nicht weiter von Belang.

Anmerken möchte ich noch, dass ich bis dato lediglich die Einzelspieler-Kampagne gespielt habe. Nach den ersten 2-3 Szenarien fehlte mir auf dem Standard-Schwierigkeitsgrad etwas die Herausforderung und ich habe eine Stufe höher, mit der Einstellung "Lieutenant" noch einmal begonnen. Ich empfand diese Einstellung als herausfordernd aber jederzeit machbar. Lediglich ein Mal musste ich, verschuldet durch eine Leichtsinnigkeit, eine Aufgabe von neuem beginnen.

Das Fehlen von Videosequenzen empfand ich als etwas bedauerlich. Dennoch ist das Spiel, bedingt durch die erzählte Geschichte und die stimmige Musikuntermalung durchaus atmosphärisch. Ich denke, ich werde mir, obwohl ich die Preispolitik als ein wenig anmaßend empfinde, bei passender Gelegenheit noch den einen oder anderen Zusatzinhalt leisten.

Aus meiner subjektiven Sicht kann ich für die Freunde der rundenbasierten Strategiespiele eine klare Kaufempfehlung aussprechen.

I got this game because I thought it was like Blood Bowl 3: the tabletop game ported to PC. It...doesn't seem to be that.

What the game seems to be is a different game set in the 40K universe with the same factions but different mechanics.

This is one of the most underrated 40k games. It can be very demanding but it never feels unfair. Every engagement forces you to consider your positioning and constantly think about the next few turns. This might look like another turn based tactics game you've played, but it doesn't play like one.

There are hints of mechanics here and there that makes this feel somewhat close to the actual table top game. Building an army within an allotment of points, thinking about unit synergy, deployment position, and the whole risk v reward dilemma you face in wargaming.

If you are on the fence or you you have been eyeballing this game, get it! It's a steal on sale, and at full price you will definitely get your money's worth.

Base game is pretty fun, overall very decent graphics and little to no bugs or run problems, so pretty stable. Overall the concept and gameplay is fun and engaging. The DLC pricing is abysmal and overall pathetic slap in the face to the consumer, and makes me want to leave a bad review and uninstall, then never play another SL created or licensed game again. As a long time steam user, I am tired of being nickel and dimed over DLC, especially for content that should be included in the base game realistically. Put your ♥♥♥♥♥ factions in a game pass and charge $20 or something.
So Yes on the base game (on deep discount), No on the DLC (really unless it is discounted down to 50% but that will not be for another 2 years so the game will be dated by then anyways).

Honestly, my only real gripe is the same one I had with Battle Brothers — I know myself. Once I get into it, I end up playing way more than I intended. The “just one more turn” effect is very real here. The missions are structured in a way that keeps you wanting to optimize, refine tactics, and experiment with different army compositions.

Visually, it does a good job representing the tabletop feel without being overwhelming. It captures that sense of commanding actual Warhammer units on a battlefield rather than abstract counters.

If you’re a 40K fan and enjoy turn-based tactics, this is an easy recommendation. Just be warned — it’s deceptively addictive. If you sit down for a quick session, you may look up and realize it’s been far longer than planned.

i like the game but it needs two balance some factions so they're not overpowered and stupidly annoying to deal with like being 100% honest some factions deserve to be stripped of everything the AI likes spamming a Pacific unit that has a holy Shield or something or whatever it's called it basically makes them unkillable other than that great game

When I first bought this a few years ago it was much more barebones and I refunded it because the price wasn't worth the content.

Since then there's been a lot of updates and I'm happy to say that I had a great time revisiting it! I received this as part of a bundle of Warhammer game gift codes for my birthday and immediately got fully sucked into the main Blood Angels campaign and loved it. Fun scenarios on fun (and pretty) maps, interesting upgrade trees, pretty art, fully voice-acted story. It took about 34~ hours to complete the campaign on the default difficulty. It's good to see some rep for a Space Marine chapter outside the usual Ultramarines, Blood Angels have some fun unique lore that factors into the story of the game.

I haven't dipped my toes into the other game modes yet, I'll update my review when I do.

I will say that I don't love the practice of releasing a bunch of overpriced DLC to unlock the ability to play other factions in PVE and PVP game modes. If the DLCs came with their own campaigns to a similar level of quality (if maybe shorter) to the main Blood Angels campaign, then they'd be well worth the money, but as it is it's hard not to feel ♥♥♥♥♥♥ about buying them at full price. There also seem to be some pretty bad balancing issues with some of those pricey DLCs shipping with incredibly underpowered or poorly-optimized units (if these have been rebalanced recently it doesn't reflect in the reviews yet). I'd be tempted by the T'au if it wasn't clear they were basically useless in PVP games due to the points-cost of the units not reflecting their actual power in-game. </3

BUT that all said, the base game is at the very least a 30-40~ hour (depending on difficulty) Space Marine vs Tyranid campaign that rocks, plus more PVE game modes and multiplayer that you can use the Blood Angels and Tyranid factions in. It's pretty high quality and feels very fun and satisfying to play. I'd say the base game is worth it now, and there's two cheaper DLC to add a couple new elite units to each base faction if you're really digging playing them and want a little extra spice without breaking the bank. I'll probably grab the 'nid one later.

EDIT: After having played some of the other PVE gamemodes I had a good time, but the maps you play on are MUCH more boring compared to the campaign. They're all just a flat expanse with a few obstacles scattered across it that don't really do much to effect the battle. It's a real shame because I'd have a really great time playing it for longer periods if it was more varied.

It’s a very easy way to get into the warhammer universe and can help you understand some tabletop mechanics as well, If you are into the Tyranids and Blood Angels I highly recommend though the DLCs for the game are a little pricey for me, considering the elite DLCs only give you two units for each faction (Hive Guard and Brood Leader)( Sanguinary Guard and Assault Terminators) and for other factions it’s 14.99 just to play other factions
