There are good things in the game, like the lore and the atmosphere. The beginning is very intriguing with the dynamic of the two characters. But then you end up running around dark woods and hills, trying to find a key object that will allow you to proceed further, and it just keeps repeating the formula. You have matches to light the way, but they're limited and everything's always too dark. Some areas are too large, almost maze like, like the tunnels near the end of the game, and the darkness doesn't help. There are also some questionable design choices like the last part of the game, which I won't spoil, but that requires you to do a split second escape without any instructions or guidance.
It's not a bad game, and it does have it's moments, but I can't say I would recommend it.

[h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen eine Frau namens Linn und wachen gefesselt in einem Auto auf, wir treten unseren Entführer und daraufhin gibt es einen Unfall. Wir wachen bei einem Fluss mitten im Wald wieder auf und es stellt sich heraus, das der Entführer, unser Bruder ist und er wollte uns nicht entführen sondern uns helfen weil wir scheinbar irgend eine Suchtkrankheit haben. Nach kurzem Streit und dann wieder vertragen, machen wir uns auf dem Weg gemeinsam mit unserem Bruder einen Weg aus dem Wald zu finden. Doch schon bald wird klar, das wir hier nicht die einzigen Umherirrenden sind

[h1] Gameplay [/h1] Das Spiel hat einen straken Fokus auf Nordische Mythologie und es gibt sogar schwedisches Voice Acting, was man ja nun wirklich super selten in Spielen hört. Man kann aber auch auf Englisches Voice Acting umstellen, welches ordentlich ist. Zum Gameplay selbst, ist es ein recht gradliniges Spiel. Es ist in Kapitel aufgeteilt und in fast jedem, lösen wir ein super simples Rätsel, diese bestehen meist einfach aus, finde diesen Gegenstand um hier weiter zu kommen. Dann gibt es einige Monster Verfolgungsszenen, in denen wir entweder wegrennen oder uns durchschleichen müssen. Das Spiel ist dabei aber sehr Fair und es gibt viele Checkpoints, sodass man nie viel an Fortschritt verliert falls man mal von Monstern erledigt wird. Man ist aber auch nicht direkt One Hit sondern kann 1 oder 2 Schläge einstecken und hat somit auch die Chance noch zu entkommen. Die Atmosphäre ist super gut gelungen und es gibt viele verstörende Soundeffekte, die einen gruseln können. Hier und Da gibt es auch mal einen Netten Jump Scare. Die Deutsche Text Übersetzung ist auch sehr gut gelungen

[h1] Achievement Schwierigkeit 4/10 [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 16 Erfolge. Hierfür muss man das Spiel beenden ohne jemals zu sterben, alle 18 Folklore Bücher finden, alle Häuser im Dorf betreten, im Dorf bei einem bestimmten Ort 3 Figuren finden, bei allen Zeichen in der Spielwelt, die Melodie auf der Harfe selber spielen ohne die Auto Funktion zu nutzen, insgesamt 10 mal sterben & den Helligkeitsregler auf Max schieben. Der No Death Run Erfolg kann etwas knifflig sein, gerade beim ersten Durchspielen, aber man kann, wenn man merkt das man z.B. entdeckt wurde von einem Monster, einfach schnell via Menü einen Kontrollpunkt laden, so ist man auf der sicheren Seite

Die Story ist ordentlich, die Atmosphäre ist schaurig schön & das Sound Design ist sehr gut gelungen. Ich kann es jedem Fan von Horror Spielen wirklich nur sehr Empfehlen. Es lohnt sich

Сюжет знакомит нас с героиней, чья жизнь явно пошла под откос из-за запрещенных веществ. И в этом кроется главная удача разработчиков: наркотические трипы здесь идеально ложатся на скандинавский фольклор. Это не просто "монстры в лесу", а искаженное восприятие реальности, где древние легенды оживают, чтобы наказать тебя за грехи. Мир игры не пытается казаться логичным или научно обоснованным. Это мрачная сказка, где всё доброе давно вырезано под корень, оставив место лишь опасности и неизвестности, в лучших традициях братьев Гримм.

Как хоррор игра работает вполсилы. Авторы отказались от дешевых скримеров, решив брать атмосферой, но немного промахнулись с динамикой. У местных врагов напрочь отсутствует элемент внезапности:

В итоге ты не столько боишься, сколько планируешь маршрут. Ты - обычный человек со спичками, и твоя главная цель - просто пройти мимо. Инструменты вроде арфы здесь служат лишь ключами к дверям, не давая реальной силы, что только подчеркивает беспомощность.

[b]НО! главный враг игры это отнюдь не великаны, а локализация. [/b]
Это, конечно, не легендарный "потраченный" перевод из GTA: San Andreas, но то, что героиня постоянно говорит о себе в мужском роде, а брат Лукас порой несет несвязную ахинею, портит погружение. А хуже всего дела обстоят с записками. Самая сочная часть лора, а именно стихотворные описания существ, вообще остались без перевода. Для игрока, не владеющего английским, существа так и останутся "какими-то тварями", хотя именно в этих текстах зарыта все фольклорные просвящения. Из-за этого игра кажется менее полноценная, чем она есть на самом деле.

Unforgiving: A Northern Hymn - это проект с густой атмосферой, который страдает от бюджетности и кривого исполнения. [i]Оххххх. Инди-хорроры, как много в этом слове скрыто... Я это говорил однажды, но я не особый любитель хорроров, а уж их инди вариантов - тем более. Но играю. Эту игру я заприметил весьма давно, да и купил её тоже сто лет как, просто добрался только сейчас. Теперь бы рассказать как-то об этом.[/i]

[b]Сюжет[/b] я несколько не понял. Вообще, сначала я думал, что мы играем за наркоманку, которую похитили и насильно везут в рехаб. Ну, знаете, эти психологические темы, каждый второй инди-хоррор имеет такие мотивы. Просто, начало - она связана в машине, руки какие-то покоцанные, что указывает на борьбу, ничего не помнит из событий до этой сцены. За рулём лысый мужик в наколках, в итоге она его и вырубает, так оказывается, что это её брат :D Не, ну интересные семейные отношения, он её похищает и возит связанной, она его не узнаёт ни визуально, ни по голосу. Ну да...
Короче, дальше ночной лес, набитый всякой скандинавской живностью - пчелобав урод, наккен, хульдра, йотун, тролли и какие-то горелые мужики. Кого-то я узнавал, кого-то видел впервые, а кого-то разрабы интерпретировали весьма вольно - троллей например, почему-то здесь это зубастые детоподобные коротыши, которые постоянно ноют в темноте.
Всё это приходится преодолевать героине, при этом цель не ясна, сначала она вроде хотела просто выбраться, а потом её покусала хульдра, прокляла и следом на баланс упал квест от наккена. Этот скрипичный игрун позиционируется как главный злодей почему-то, ответственный за всё вокруг. При этом он зовётся аж ложным богом, который катит шары к Фрейе. [i]Хм, всегда думал, что это просто рядовой зловредный дух.[/i] Плюс на фоне в записках иногда фигурируют Норны, которые наказывают кого-то за что-то.

Ну короче... [spoiler]В итоге сюжет-то у нас за'loop'ливается. Вроде как бы получается, что героиня находится то ли в чистилище, то ли она наказана Норнами за что-то, то ли всё же белка у неё. А злодей? Хер его знает, ибо квест его выполняем и он всё начинает сначала хихикая. Тоже наказан? Непонятно. Выхода из цикла нет в итоге, концовка всегда одна.[/spoiler]
Так ещё и иные вопросы остаются без ответов, типа деревни и её жителей, бешенства хульдры, какого-то культа Одина что ли, артефакта и его важности, каких-то людей в шахтах. А самое главное - есть какая-то группа выживальщиков и некий Рагнар, эта сюжетная линия просто из неоткуда появляется и также куда-то исчезает без ответов, зачем она нужна? Но опять же, все эти недосказанности буквально норма для инди-хорроров, видимо считается, что это очень круто.

[b]Геймплейно[/b] игра является скорее бродилкой. Скриммер один буквально. Погони от врагов минимальные и кратковременные. В каких-то местах врагов похоже нет вообще и они просто напрягают шумом, хотя может и не факт, ибо например на второй раз на ж/д путях я таки увидел йотуна, а ведь тоже думал, что это прикол. Помереть можно, но сложно, враги не убивают сразу, при этом они довольно слепые, да и глухие тоже. Буквально один враг на всю игру работает более-менее на всю свою зарплату - хульдра, так и то, если всё делать бегом, контакт с ней и 10 минут не продлится наверное.
Но, при этом смотреть-то и не на что. Вот есть игра Through the Woods. очень схожая по своей концепции и в ней был не только хлеб, но было и очень много зрелищ. Тут же нет ничего. Локации излишне большие, но пустые полностью - унылые дома и минимальное кол-во книг, ну и мусор всякий - всё. При этом графически игра тоже не радует, это тот самый анрил енжин первых версий, всё картофельное и в абсолютной тьме.

Из "развлечений" игра предлагает сбор спичек для освещения пространства и игру на арфе, в основном в виде двух мелодий. А также сбор пары десятков записок и "разговоров" с полубагованными человеко-деревьями. В итоге, если бродить пешком и пылесосить каждый сантиметр - часов 5 выйдет. Если пробежать как раненная лосиха (у нас же героиня, которая к тому же не имеет стамины как таковой) - всего 2 часа. Не густо. Я испытал оба варианта на себе, в силу неожиданной смерти в секундах так 30 от финала, мне не понравилось, не советую так делать.

[b]Плюсы?[/b] Ну, "звуки". Весь этот местный зоопарк довольно таки радовал своим звучанием, особо конечно хульдра. Музыка тоже хорошая везде была. Шведская озвучка меня тоже более чем порадовала.

[b]Минусы:[/b]
- Довольно кривой перевод - неправильные рода, неправильные слова, просто ошибки разные. Сборные коллекционные записки вообще без перевода.
- Тьма. Я, короче, так и не понял, что это было. Просто если отвернуться от каких-то источников света - экран тупо гас. Звуки есть, перс ходит, всё работает, монитор включён, esc/коробок/спички возвращали картинку сразу же. Но всё равно, чуть отвернёшься и приплыли. Баг какой-то что ли? Я вроде посмотрел на ютубе летсплеи и там такого не было. В целом, это заметно мешало и я всегда боялся, что меня так накроет во время погони и заруинит мне хардмод.

[b]Итого[/b] - фиг его знает. Типичный старый инди-хоррор большей частью, поэтому ругать его за его же сущность смысла вроде как и нет. Да, некрасив. Да, что-то багает. Да, сюжет непонятный. Но вроде что-то и любопытное было, во многом исходящее из мифологии, да и хотя бы звуками радовало. Нейтральная оценка напрашивается короче, но раз её нет, пусть будет палец вверх.

Es un titulo que se destaca por su atmósfera de terror y su uso del folclore Sueco, creando tension constante mediante el uso magistral del sonido y la iluminación limitada. A diferencia de otros juegos este título profundiza en leyendas Escandinavas presentando criaturas de forma aterradora y fiel a sus raíces culturales. Las voces en sueco añaden una capa de realismo que potencia la sensación de estar perdido en un bosque extranjero y hostil. Su historia es intrigante y con un final perturbador y que se aleja de lo convencional del género. Por ultimo se agradece que se encuentre con subtitulos en ESPAÑOL ademas de LOGROS, CROMOS y COLECCIONABLES. Buen trabajo.

Wish I could recommend this one, but most of the time the game was just boring. Lots of walking without much going on or very mild attempts to "scare" the player that don't really work. There was one actually tense chase scene near the end, but it was probably the only interesting part in the game. I tend to be a bit less critical towards foreign-made indie games since it can just be fun to learn the lore of another culture even if the horror doesn't work out, but I didn't really find the Scandinavian lore all that interesting or new compared to what I already knew, so the game just kind of fell flat for me. I didn't hate my experience, and even enjoyed parts of it, but I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone else.

Минусы: не хватило атмосферности.
Есть игры, для которых небольшая длительность прохождения не проблема. Здесь же всё происходит быстро и скучно: вот ты пробегаешь одну локацию, так же быстро вторую, третью и в итоге ничего не запоминается. Объяснение существа в каждой локации всего на одном листике и то, если ты старательно взаимодействовал со всеми заметками и книгами, а не мимо крокодил.
Растянуть бы время прохождения, как в Apsulov God, думаю, тогда бы больше прониклась и локациями, и существами, и сюжетом в целом.

Bought this game on a whim even though I don't really play horror.
Thought it'd be way more scary than it actually is and longer.
Finished the game in about two hours (not doing collections and exploring everything).

Atmosphere is great - the sounds, the dialogue, the environment.
Would wish for more jumpscares, monsters actually chasing you.

You can make about anything without dying just by running - also makes the game less scary tbh.

Wouldn't spend 15€ on it but on sale? Sure.

Unforgiving A Northern Hymn, propose une direction artistique saisissante, avec des environnements inspirés du folklore scandinave qui parviennent à être à la fois beau et inquiétants. Les forêts sombres, les marais embrumés, les lacs silencieux et les vieilles cabanes perdues au milieu de nulle part créent une atmosphère oppressante qui vous happe dès les premières minutes.

Les musiques et les sonorités sont top. Les chants traditionnels, les cordes grinçantes et les murmures lointains contribuent à une ambiance unique et terrifiante. Ce n’est pas une bande-son qui cherche à briller par ses mélodies, mais par sa capacité à instiller un sentiment d’angoisse permanent. Les effets sonores, eux, sont très bien intégrés : branches qui se brisent, souffle du vent, bruits surnaturels… Ils participent pleinement à l’immersion, même lorsque l’on souhaiterait ne pas savoir ce qui se cache derrière.

Le gameplay, bien que simple, reste efficace. Vous explorez, résolvez des puzzles, fuyez des créatures mythologiques, et tentez de survivre à des situations toujours plus oppressantes. Le jeu demande parfois un certain temps d’adaptation si vous n’êtes pas habitué aux expériences orientées narration et ambiance, mais rien n’est insurmontable. Les énigmes sont globalement intuitives, même si quelques interactions peuvent sembler un peu capricieuses.

L’histoire est sans doute la plus grande force du jeu. Inspirée des légendes scandinaves les plus sombres, elle vous plonge dans un récit où culpabilité, douleur et horreur se mêlent à la mythologie nordique. Chaque rencontre, chaque lieu, chaque événement ont leur propre sens symbolique, et il est très facile de se laisser happer par les sous-textes qui parsèment le voyage.

La durée de vie est correcte pour un jeu de ce type. Comptez environ 3 à 5 heures pour terminer l’histoire, selon votre rythme et votre capacité à explorer ou à vous perdre volontairement dans ces sombres paysages. Ce n’est pas un jeu pensé pour durer éternellement, mais plutôt une expérience intense, dense.

Bien sûr, quelques petits bugs et maladresses existent, notamment dans certaines animations ou collisions, mais rien qui n’empêche réellement de profiter de l’aventure. L’important est de sauvegarder mentalement (et prendre une grande respiration), car une fois plongé dans cet univers suédois sombre et torturé, il est difficile de décrocher.

Unforgiving A Northern Hymn est un voyage horrifique sympa. Sa capacité a mêlé ambiance, folklore, psychologique et poésie lugubre en fait une expérience unique.

not a very difficult game, beat it in about 2,5 hours without much troube. ultimately a walking sim, but I really liked the atmosphere, story, lore, swedish folklore, audio design, it's all just so good and really helps you immerse in the world and get scared. would definitely recommend this to all horror fans who enjoy the vibes rather than action in horror games.

Вкратце (типа спойлеры): брат вёз по делам, но чудом остановился в лесу, после чего главная героиня отказалась принять судьбу стать деревом.

Игра 2017 года и там, походу, осталась. Рекомендую только тем, кому до жути нравится такая тематика, кому совсем уж не во что играть, или тем, кому хочется привнести капельку разнообразия в игровую жизнь. В остальном, советую пропустить её. Я её брал за 110 рублей на распродаже в надежде открыть для себя что-то новое, но она меня разочаровала. В настоящее время больше бы не дал при всём желании.

К сожалению, игру пришлось бросить незадолго до финала, потому что она же убила весь настрой. Будет понятней, когда пойдут минусы. Но для справки: игра проходится довольно быстро.

Плюсы (есть такое)
Из плюсов в первую очередь могу выделить атмосферу и звуковое сопровождение и только после этого тематику и "сюжет". Атмосфера здесь гнетущая, особенно если сильно не выкручивать яркость, гамму и т.п., поскольку дальше своего носа не видно. И для того чтобы не спотыкаться обо всё подряд разработчики дали нам спички, коробки с которыми разбросаны по карте (для пополнения). Спички можно проверять (в своей коробке), зажигать и тушить. Также, что касается звуков и музыки, то они напрямую переплетаются с атмосферой: окружение шепчет и взаимодействие с ним приятное (ветки, стекло, мусор под ногами, скрип дверей и прочее), звуковые эффекты и музыка давят, словно обнаружен, словно погоня. Подгоняет.
А что касается тематики, то тут она передаётся в основном через предметы окружения, которые можно пощупать, истории, записки и прочее, а также отчасти через сюжет. Сюжет показался сухим, но с тематикой связан.

Думаю, отдельно ещё можно отметить анимации, связанные с нашим персонажем (передвижение в приседе, спички, узкие пространства)

Минусы. О да!
Первый очевидный минус - механика и геймплей. В целом хорошо, но есть пару моментов, которые убивают игровой настрой и погружение: дикая заскриптованность игры, главная героиня бегает как бабка, камера при игре на инструменте, враги дурные.
В основном из-за дурного "босса" первой локации у меня пропал настрой играть, т.к. куда бы не пошёл и как бы не прятался ЭТО обязательно идёт к ГГ, "находит", а потом преследует, бьёт (и убивает на 3-4 удар). После этого взгляды поменялись и я стал бежать напролом, на пофиг: больше никакого спокойствия, осторожности, ощущения напряжения и так далее.
Также со спичками и их отображением не понял прикола: если в коробке на столе много спичек, то я беру одну, хотя в моей коробке они рассыпаны на донышке. Мне не понравилось как реализовали этот "подсчёт".
Дальше, не суть, но этой игре, насколько знаю, есть достижение, которое дают за игру на инструменте вручную (есть авто. проигрыш песен). И с больной камерой что на геймпаде, что на клавомыши, с учётом имеющихся ашалевших врагов, это проблема.
А что касается заскриптованности, то в последней локации, где я был, игра запускала врагов, препятствия и "нагнетание" один раз. Т.е., когда я дошёл до контрольной точки и снова бегал по тем же местам, где что-то появлялось, там этого уже не было, и я тупо спокойно бегал (никаких условий срабатывания). Теперь касаемо скорости передвижения: я не знаю почему так, но ГГ бегает больно уж медленно и это утомляет. В последней локации я не видел доску с картой ни в начале, ни между, и мне пришлось кругами бегать и искать склад, где запасной кабель (ГГ даже не подсказала где могла его видеть). В итоге кабель я так и не нашёл, забил. Зато пока бегал туда-сюда увидел как на месте собранных спичек появлялись новые...

Beautiful and disturbing short horror experience. I love the use of folklore. The story was surprisingly impactful in places -- the protagonist is a little bit more than the stereotypical gasping, faceless protagonist you often get.

It's not overly challenging, which is a plus for me since I love exploring the spooky environments of these kind of games.

Good stuff. Not much you can do, just walk, run, crouch, light matches and interacte. But imo not what this game is about, it's all about the atmosphere and vibes. And it delivers plenty of that. The forest, later on the mine, combined with that outstanding sound design, I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. Odin's knowledge is awesome, wish there was more of it. No technical issues of any kind. Full price is maybe a little too much since it is very short. Recommended!

I picked up the this game because of the mythology related part of the story and to be honest I was disappointed. The main character barely connects to the mythology part at all. It's about a woman that randomly finds herself in a forest with Norse folklore horrors after her brother tries to "abduct" her.

The map is dark and open which is a prerequisite for tiresome backtracking if you decide to look around/stray from the main path. For a walking simulator you'd expect at least to have a good story or interactions with the world, but it's a simple collect/turn on this thingy and go to the next place where you will collect/turn on another thingy and so on.

The horror segment of the game was fine I guess. The atmosphere was good for the most part, but unfortunately there were a few scripted jumpscares that weren't really connected to the story or explained and were just there for the scare. There were also a few chase sequences that were fine.

Overall the game was kinda boring and I didn't understand most of the story, even though I finished the game in one playthrough. People that like indie walking simulator games + a bit of horror may find it interesting, but I still think most people will not find it exciting.

I hate putting [i]No[/i] as a recommendation for this game.

This game is VERY short, I beat the game in about 3 hours. I liked the story, and the lore and designs for the creatures was nice but the game play is TERRIBLE. Sound design and voice acting were well done, I listened to the Swedish voice actors.

If this was a $5 or less, then I could possible recommend it, but at $15 it is not worth that price.

Incredibly atmospheric game that I would say falls into the category of walking simulator with some light puzzle elements. All the sounds and the music ramping up the tensions was done very well - I was genuinely spooked. If you like freaking out and running away for fun, this game is for you.

Walking sim with the lights turned out. Certain parts are scary certain parts are derpy. Music was good in some chapters and then weak when the giant comes out when you have to unlock the gates. The children remind me of the feeders skinny creepy things. Game can be finished quick if you dont die or get stuck on a puzzle like i did.

・回収要素の方に訳が付いてなかったのは残念（自分で適当に訳しました）
・ムービースキップが無いのでリプレイの際にもどかしい。
抵抗手段がなく逃げるのみなので、タイミングゲー苦手な自分は良かったです。
人外の存在の理不尽さを感じられるストーリーは、北欧神話等の知識無しでも楽しめます。

実績取得も、難易度高くはないです。

По трейлерам ожидал, что игра будет что-то на подобии Амнезии. Но игра оказалась довольно простым симулятором ходьбы. Во первых долгое вступление на 30 мин, бежим вперед, только потом появляется возможность побегать по посёлку. Загадок совсем нет, всё довольно просто: идём куда идётся, собираем все по пути - применяем, где предмета не хватало. Такая, чуть более прокачанная версия Слендера, даже поиск страниц есть). К сожалению меня не зацепило, ни атмосфера, ни геймплей, к тому же очень темные локации, непонятно зачем была сделана механика конечных спичек, я всю игру, где не было освещения ходил с зажженной спичкой, и у концу игры у меня их еще более 10 оставалось. Выглядит скорее как пробник для будущих работ. Этой игре поставлю минус, но обязательно посмотрю, смогли ли авторы в будущих играх довести игру до увлекательного играбельного состояния

Nice little horror game. It had a great set up that it sometimes lives up to. I particularly enjoyed the semi open world level where you have to do some decent critical thinking to figure out what to do. It did have some slower moments but overall very fun. Short but worthwile. Unforgiving manages to strike a nice balance between exploration, puzzles, tense atmosphere, and decent to great visuals while also creating some truly unique moments. The Swedish devs are clearly big nerds about Norse / Scandinavian myths and folklore, and their passion for the topic translates well into the game.

Comparatively, the story is a bit of a letdown. The game sets up a few plot points, only to never come back to them or properly resolve them and even does a [spoiler]disappointing time-loop cop-out at the end.[/spoiler]

Still gets a recommendation, especially on sale, no-brainer for everyone slightly interested in indie horror and / or fans of Norse mythology.

Cons:
- TOO F***ING DARK
- You don't get matches until much too far into the game. Turning up gamma only helps so much...
- 1st portion of the game was a little too open and in combination with the darkness it led to much confusion even with the map given.
- Some backtracking was frustrating because you'd have to walk quite a ways to go back and forth between places.
- Folklore doesn't really tie into the main character and her story of addiction at all unless I missed something...

Il gioco è figlio della scuola "Frictional Games" di cui gli Angry Demon Studio sono connazionali. Dunque ci troviamo di fronte a un stealth horror con alcuni puzzle da risolvere e tantissima ansia da gestire. A differenza degli Amnesia qui la situazione, almeno all'inizio, è meno claustrofobica e più esplorativa su spazi aperti.

DIREZIONE ARTISTICA

Le fiabe spesso sono a tutti gli effetti dei racconti horror per bambini e il gioco si lascia ispirare dalla mitologia norrena per costruire un'estetica e una narrazione in linea con il folklore e le tradizioni svedesi di cui le fiabe nordiche sono intrise.

PRO

Esperienza horror appagante come "da scuola svedese", trama trascinante, level design interessante. Ottimo comparto sonoro.

CONTRO

Il free roaming iniziale potrebbe risultare troppo dispersivo per chi non ama troppo l'esplorazione. Il finale non sembra essere all'altezza delle aspettative caricate dalla narrazione.

I fell in love with Swedish Folklore recently due to the masterpiece that is 'Bramble: The Mountain King'.
This game does a decent job on delivering the suspense and horror elements. It's a nice experience.

Due to it's length and limited gameplay, (yes, it's more of a walking simulator, but a good one- mind you!)
I would recommend this game on sale.

Если бы в игре были наши спички, мы никогда бы не прошли сюжет. Но спички шведские, так что игра проходимая. Вот только из-за того, что спичка не фонарь и не факел, находя книгу с какой-то историей о демонах (?) или мифических существах как-то нет желания читать о них. Спички нужны чтобы находить другие спички и хоть как-то освещать свой путь.
Именно из-за ограничения в освещенности и не получается вникнуть в сюжет.
По игре: да, невозможность убежать от врагов и темень - эта безысходность...

I'm not gonna lie. I loved this horror game. Although perhaps not as challenging and a little more like a horror walking sim, anything that dives into mythology is going to be an instant fav of mine. Some puzzles were a little tough, but that is mostly cause I wasn't always paying attention -- however, I loved the dark themes, the survival, and although the ending wasn't the best, it beats majority of standard horror game endings. All in all, I loved it, and I would recommend it for anyone wanting a good mythological driven horror game!

Вот вроде и страшно, и интересно, а потом игра начинает выводить из себя.
Почему?
Во-первых, в некоторые моменты абсолютно ничего не видно даже со спичками. Особенно это касается едучих погонь от мелких гавриков.
Во-вторых, концовка. Она ужасная. Когда разработчик, писатель или режиссёр никак не может найти узелок, которым можно всё зафиналить, то он просто-напросто делает открытый финал или [spoiler] е6yче-6лядскую петлю времени нaxуй, в которой главные герои как лабораторные мыши будут бегать до бесконечности. Кстати, если в конце мы не захотим ударять брата, то игра это сделает за нас. БРАВО!!! СПАСИБО!!! СВОБОДА ВЫБОРА В ДЕЙСТВИИ!!! [/spoiler].
В-третьих, постоянные телепортации врагов к игроку. Даже если убежал далеко-далеко за пределы карты, за пределы мира, улетел на Марс проходить эту игру, то тебя там всё равно найдёт титястая мадам.
В-четвёртых, я не понимаю почему Биба и Боба не поднялись на дорогу, с которой съехали, и просто не пошли обратно по ней? Я понимаю, что это долго, что, вероятно, машины там редко ездят, но это же намного лучше, чем переться в непонятный лес?
В-пятых, е6анутый момент, где нужно избавиться от дерева с придатком. Я вообще жёстко струхнул на этом моменте. Да, это дерево, но оно БОЛТАЕТ И ОНО ЖИВОЕ, ГОСПОДИ!!!
В-шестых, у этой игры есть одновременно ачивки "умри 10 раз" и "выживи в локация-нэйм". Типа, чё? Вы или трусы снимите, или... Или... Как там было?
В начале игра хорошая, окей, но потом много отталкивающих, нелогичных и бесячих моментов, поэтому вот вообще не рекомендую играть в неё.
