Vale a pena dar uma conferida. A história é interessante e a direção de arte também cumpre bem o seu papel. O jogo é mais lentão e lembra bastante os trabalhos do Fumito Ueda tanto na gameplay quando no conceito.

O jogo tem alguns problemas, mas o principal é a falta de polimento: alguns glitches visuais, crashes depois de minimizar o jogo, animações um pouco esquisitas, UI do menu não muito funcional e personagens com o modelos 3D no mínimo questionáveis. Eu relevei tudo isso tendo em vista que é um jogo indie brasileiro de + de 10 anos atrás, então não foi algo que me incomodou tanto. Porém, não posso falar o mesmo do áudio. Os Efeitos Sonoros e as Ambientações possuem problemas de espacialização, diferenças grandes de dinâmica e a qualidade em si dos áudios não é tão boa. Os temas musicais são interessantes, mas sinto que faltou um trabalho de áudio adaptativo mais polido (trazendo mais expressão e dinâmica) tendo em vista a carga emocional e lúdica que o jogo se propõe a ter.

Resumindo: dá uma chance pro jogo, só vai demorar umas 2 horas para zerar e a experiência é bem agradável de maneira geral. Se você curte conquistas, elas são bem tranquilas e vão te ajudar a entender melhor a história. Toren foi um dos pioneiros jogos do cenário indie brasileiro. Lembro do hype e do quão importante ele foi para inspirar novos desenvolvedores tupiniquins.

Toren é um indie em terceira pessoa de plataforma e aventura, ele tem um conceito bom e boas ideias, a premissa de escalar uma torre misteriosa enquanto sua personagem vai envelhecendo, explorar simbolismos, e uma atmosfera de fantasia sombria com visuais muito interessantes.
A arte e a trilha sonora até tentam entregar uma experiência tocante. Mas, infelizmente, o jogo falha em entregar algo consistente, erros técnicos e falta de polimento total. A jogabilidade é lenta, travada e pouco responsiva, pular e mover a personagem dá a sensação ruim, não é aquele "lento" bom dos jogos do Fumito Ueda, e os controles tornam puzzles simples em momentos frustrantes, bom que o jogo dá uma margem bem larga de erro nos puzzles, mas mesmo assim pode incomodar. Falando em controle, não consegui fazer funcionar meu controle de PS4 e de XBOX em Toren, mesmo o jogo pedindo para usar um controle. Acabei tendo que jogar ele todo com o teclado e mouse. Que não foi uma experiência tão ruim.
A câmera é bem ruinzinha, com o ritmo irregular, mesmo tendo a opção de mover ela é melhor não fazer isso e aceitar do jeito que está, pois, vai piorar tudo.
O jogo é curto demais, tem muito potencial para criar uma história impactante e marcante, com uma profundidade simbólica e narrativa artística linda, mas acaba sendo prejudicada pelo pouco polimento técnico e pela execução preguiçosa. Terminá-lo em poucas horas deixa a sensação de “quase lá, mas faltou concretizar”.
No fim, Toren parece mais um rascunho de uma grande ideia do que um jogo completo, bonito de ver em alguns momentos, mas na prática, é frustrante e pouco recompensador.

Levei cerca de 3h30 para pegar todas as conquistas, bom a primeiro momento as conquistas do jogo não caem, mesmo você fazendo os requerimentos necessários ou passar no momento da campanha para desbloquear, elas só vão ser desbloqueadas quando você sair do jogo, sim, fechar o jogo, ai elas vão cair tudo de uma vez e ainda por cima, pode bugar e não desbloquear, fazendo você ter que refazer o jogo para pegar a conquista como foi o meu caso.
Seguindo um guia de imagens que tem na Steam você consegue pegar tudo facilmente, existem 5 conquistas que podem ser perdidas. Mas como é um jogo extremamente curto, facilmente você pode voltar para desbloquear elas.
A minha conquista que bugou foi a "A True Warrior" uma conquista que é da campanha, que deveria ter sido desbloqueado no momento que passei. Para resolver fui à seleção de capítulos e passei novamente aquele trecho inteiro e no fim desbloqueou quando eu fechei o jogo. Pelo que eu li qualquer conquista pode bugar então é bom ficar esperto e fechando o jogo de tempos em tempos, para ir desbloqueando as conquistas.

vi no zangado gado

Game de Produção BR...

Joguinho bacana, bem simples e com gráficos estilizados, recomendo em promoção pois o mesmo é bem curto, zerei em 8 horas, fazendo todas as conquistas, que são bem fáceis.

A história é bacana mas não cativa, me incomodou duas coisas, primeiro o processamento elevadíssimo em certos momentos do jogo, sem explicação aparente e segundo a movimentação da personagem que é bem ruim, dá pra jogar sem problemas, mas é visível a limitação.

Recomendo, mas jogue sem muitas expectativas, pra completar 100% (platinar) é muito fácil.

Short and sweet, stunningly beautiful. This is what you want to get into, if you are looking for a short artsy snack for your lazy Sunday afternoons. Also, don't worry about the achievements, they do work - they just won't be in the way of your game experience (which was a nice touch as far as immersion goes) - they will pop up as soon as you close the game.

📖The story is...really hard to explain, and also delivered in often-random snippets. (Something about a soldier, mage, dragon, tower...Uhhh, no idea.)
🎥The camera is [b]not[/b] full free-rotate, but rather fixed-zone-ish.
🎮The controls are forgiving in [i]some[/i] areas (salt shapes) but [b]broken[/b] in others (jumping and "combat").
🐲Sometimes the dragon would seem close enough to hit and then I'd whiff with the sword, sometimes I'd actually hit it, sometimes it would just eat me. There's no clear indicator on what is too close/far.
🗣️The trailer is in English, but the game dialogue...isn't(?).
📜The interface and menus need some tweaking.
📃The Chapter Select screen has NO Chapter numbers/names.
🤷‍♂️This game is almost 10 years old, and the website for the developers is long-gone, so I doubt there will ever be any patches for this game. Shame, bc I feel with just a handful of tweaks and fixes here and there, this would've been a great (albeit short and confusing) game.

I'll start out by saying I had some trouble with starting up. It says it 'recommends a controller', so I thought my ps4 controller would be okay. Starting the game without checking, I found the camera view was skewed so bad that most of the time I couldn't even see the main character. I had to quit back out and go to the controller menu by right clicking on the game in my library. In the controller menu I selected "Gamepad with High Precision Camera/Aim" from the controller configurator. After restarting, the camera was fixed and I was able to move the camera around with the right control stick.

So I'm guessing any controller can work correctly, not just a steam controller. Which is good because no one can afford to keep buying controllers.

Into the game proper, you'll discover it is short. There is no 'rich puzzle solving', or 'journey of learning & fulfilment', at least it didn't seem that way to me. I probably could have finished the game in under 3 hours but I had to go to chapter select as I missed a triangle, and an achievement, and had to idle AGES for the last few card drops.

It's always a little sad when a game's playtime is artificially extended by something as pathetic as card drops.

The weirdest part of the game is probably the short segment crawling around as a baby, but in addition to playing as a young girl, there are other versions of her where she is a little older, or a lot older. It doesn't really affect the gameplay though, as there isn't that much to do in the first place. There's jumping, attacking with a sword, and the action button - mostly for grabbing things or for clicking on interactions. There's a view button too but I thought it was mostly pointless.

In terms of story, I think it is beautiful, vague, and quite possibly over my head. I enjoyed the imagery, but having missed the first triangle on my original playthrough I did miss a bit of story until I chapter selected to find it... after I finished the game. The fact that there are missable story segments is poor game design - it could be that the story statues need a minor tutorial guidepost to show players what they need to be looking for.

In my own experience, it helps if I have the camera and controller working in the first place, and that I don't jump off the edge right from the outset.

I think if the game could have been a big bigger and beefier in terms of puzzles I might have enjoyed it more. As it is there really is only the dragon as a repeat foe for most of the game, and some mostly linear platforming. I would have liked the mythology of the tower Toren, the sun and moon and stars, and Moonchild to be a little clearer. As it is it probably needs a replay to fully understand the mythology behind it.

As a unique and interesting concept I recommend it, but in truth I am on the fence with this one.

Bueno, es horrible, nunca en la vida había sentido que perdía tanto el tiempo jugando a un juego. Creo que en la vida había jugado a un indie tan malo:

- Dura 2h
- Los puzzles son asquerosamente fáciles y encima ultra timeados. Horrible, los hace lentos y no tienen dificultad alguna.
- La historia es muy floja, la he llegado hasta a odiar.
- Los controles son malísimos y el movimiento de la cámara es aún peor.
- No puedes saltar las cinemáticas.
+ Sólo vale la pena la música.
+ Me han faltado dos logros y lo bueno que tiene es que no te obligan a jugar entero el juego otra vez ya que puedes seleccionar el capítulo.

Estoy jugando a juegos que me salen con tiempo jugado debido a que hace más de 6 años atrás usaba un programa para sacar los cromos y la verdad, que mala decisión con Toren. No os gastéis ni un duro, siento decirlo pero ha sido la peor experiencia de mi vida.

Если брать по скидке, то этой, проходимой за 2 часа приключенческой игре, можно простить её неудобное управление (то героиня идёт туда, куда смотрит камера, то туда, куда смотрит сама, то куда-то вообще непонятно куда), и живущую своей жизнью камеру, ради интересного графического оформления, и некого сюжета. Почему-то игру называют головоломкой, но головоломкости в ней не так много, а повторяющиеся моменты со сдуванием вообще напрягают, будто бы специально растягивая игру. Ещё я не понял смысл снаряжения, можно найти кольчугу, которая должна защищать (по описанию) от маленьких врагов, но она не защищает, и ещё можно найти маску, которая должна защищать от магических атак, но никаких магических атак нет, помимо атаки дракона, от которой защищает меч.

This is a really _really_ rough indie game.

The game has a really cool concept, it's a well thought out story line and has a cool world design. It's just not very polished. The graphics are an odd combination of super details and extremely sketchy--I assume there was some rushing towards the end of production. There are invisible walls/floors. The camera controls are extremely frustrating at times.

If you can tolerate being a little annoyed occasionally, it's a cute way to spent a couple hours. Otherwise, sorta worth missing.

Fortemente indecisa se mettere una recensione positiva o negativa.
Alla fine mi sono divertita abbastanza da mettere un "Sì", però:

-i controlli sono faticosi, abbastanza da rendere l'esperienza a volte frustrante ed è sicuramente il difetto più grave. Ho giocato con mouse e tastiera e di solito mi trovo benissimo. Qui la regola dei controlli è "direzione assoluta", intendo che se premi "Sinistra" la protagonista va verso la sinistra dello schermo e non alla sua sinistra, e questo vuol dire che la direzione in cui va dipende molto fortemente da com'è posizionata la telecamera in quel momento. Il numero di volte in cui sono caduta o sono saltata nel vuoto per sbaglio è impressionante. Mi piacciono i giochi in cui i percorsi sono difficili, ma deve essere il percorso, il tempismo, il punto da cui saltare, non così. Do il beneficio del dubbio che col controller potrebbe essere meglio (ad esempio con i tasti andare a "45° gradi" credo sia più difficile).

-è corto, a me è durato 3 ore. Ho visto online che ho saltato qualche "secret", ma non ho voglia di rifarlo (vedi punto successivo) per trovarli

-è spesso lento e fin troppo facile, tanto da risultare un po' noioso.

PRO:
Nel complesso è divertente, l'atmosfera è ben riuscita, i paesaggi interessanti, le musiche piacevoli e la storia affascinante (anche se non giuro di averla capita bene), perciò a posteriori non mi sono pentita di averlo acquistato.

Toren feels like someone's school project. Besides the pretty cover art which drew me in the first place, everything else is one continuous exercise in frustration. From the five or six logos you have to skip every time you start AND exit the game, to the horrendous camera which has a mind of its own and makes everything needlessly difficult. Every time you die, you get to repeat a long boring track through an empty lifeless level, and you will die a lot because all it takes is one hit and the camera makes it impossible to see anything around you. The story is boring and nonsensical, and to the best of my understanding is about patience and perseverance in overcoming obstacles. The irony, of course, is that the easiest way to overcome this particular obstacle is just to play another game.

The game process might get stuck if you're playing on Windows, and may require a full restart. This does not happen when playing on Linux or Steam Deck however.

If you're looking for a couple hours to kill, and want a short story to play I'd recommend getting it during a sale. The controls are doable, but rather clunky, even by 2015 standards. The 2D artwork and 3D visuals are breathtaking, even when playing in 4K.

The world of Toren was so beautiful with symbolism fantasy story about the birth - the life - the dead - and recycle again, it was a short game that can be finished under 3 hours. I did feel attach to the cryptic lore of this game and Oh My God, this game musical score was very good for an indie game. Musical score in this game fills the mood when playing this game, musical score of this game must be place on higher place because it feels so sad and epic with the same time.

But, despite of all the goodness, gameplay of this game feels so clunky. There was three button for use, JUMP - ATTACK / USE - LOOK. For jumping, it feels clunky for animation, not smooth but manageable. USE button was fine but, for ATTACK animation was the worst thing. I kinda hate when try to slash small enemy with sword, I rather run away than kill them or grabbed by them and throw them at pit. It feels be better than slash an attack to them. But, sword was needed as plot armor for the story and it feels so epic in the final battle. It was so brutal, gore and epic. Well done to developer to made that scene. So, after use jump & attack button, third button was LOOK. This button will be cinematic if there was a eye symbol above character head and that was so good. I like this.

However, there were pro and cons about this game. But for me, I like the story, lore and OMFG the epic soundtrack. Graphics was good for an indie, it was not AAA type of graphics. Cons for me just for the clunky of jumping and attack, beside of that this game was two level above mediocre, So, it was 7/10 from me.

Someone or someones made this game, and it was clearly important to them. Toren sets a mood with some kind of charm that only somebody with a vision has.

The controls: Bad. The camera is constantly shifting, nonsensically, more often than the way in which you control your character, which is too often. The combat is not combat, it is a symptom of the simple puzzles. The puzzles suffer from this: You do not overcome the puzzle through thought, you overcome the clunky controls of this game to avoid falling off a ledge after the camera swings around out of your control.

The story is... there? What I could understand of the story was very simple, and I liked it. What I couldn't understand, was the majority of this convoluted mess. This game says things like "All sacrifice comes at a cost" to try and sound cool, but steps way over the line into pretentious-hippie-jargon. I was rolling my eyes by the middle of the game, which is only about 2.5 hours long in total.

The music: Decent. Pairing the music with the scenery is probably the strongest point of Toren. It is, at times, beautiful. The pairing of the music and the 'boss fight(s)'(?)... is honestly kind of funny. Fighting a dragon atop a giant tower in the sky is obviously epic, but at the mercy of these controls? The epic music sounds more like it's mocking you.

I don't hate this game, but I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone with the intention of playing it.

I would recommend this game to someone interested in learning about game development; interested in what not to do, because the flaws in this game aren't bugs, they are a lack of polish, a lack of experience, poor choices and poor execution.

Is it worth $10 USD? No.
Is it worth remembering? Yes.

When i started playing Toren i didn't really understand all the negative reviews. Even through the graphics, the bad controls, the sh*tty camera and regular backtracking I was convinced to leave a recommendation for the game. It was charming in a way.

Until the end, where you have finally climed the tower and think it is over, then the game decides to prolong the playtime by at least 30 minutes by adding extra levels, stupid cutscenes and the absolute WORST bossfight I have ever seen. It was then that the horrible controls really annoyed me because i had to try way TOO MANY times to pull a stupid stone into place instead of hitting it, it was then that the slow walking speed annoyed me because i dies WAY TOO MANY times because the of the stupid level structure and lack of information on what to do and it was then that i cursed the game everytime granpa turned to stone because the part i had to repeat was WAT TOO LONG.

The pretty much 2 hours of playtime until the credity felt like 4.

Это игра артхаус. Куча заумных слов говорящих о вполне приземлённом. Сложно оценить игру, зная что это артхаусное изложение, где механики сделаны только для создания динамики. Я бы лучше сделал какой-нибудь симулятор ходьбы на эту тему. Как по мне эти идеи там бы легли лучше. Хотя не мне судить создателей. Визуально игра странная, не могу сказать что хорошо, но и говорить что плохо не хочется. Я даже не знаю что сказать об этой игре. В этом проекте, по моему всё сделано так как должно быть. Он хороший, но далеко не для всех. В общем, луна приходит и уходит, она видела всё, и ещё многое увидит.

Kudos to the artist(s) behind it; you've got skills, my friend. The music? Oh, it's the kind of atmospheric serenade that makes you forget you left the oven on. Personally, I'd listen to it while grocery shopping or negotiating world peace.

Now, hold on to your wizard hats, because the gameplay is a carnival of quirks. Animations are as stiff as a board in a straightjacket, textures overlap like they're playing a game of Twister, and the controls? Well, let's just say they made me contemplate a mountain ox-strangling career. Seriously, that "Mercy" dream? Jumping that way was like convincing a cat to take a bath—it ain't happening.

Toren, o jogo que te faz questionar a própria existência enquanto tenta subir uma torre aparentemente sem fim. É como se a protagonista estivesse presa em uma versão medieval de um programa de treino extremo, mas em vez de halteres, ela está levantando o peso das suas próprias dúvidas existenciais.

A torre em Toren é mais misteriosa do que a receita da Coca-Cola. Você começa como uma criança pequena e, conforme avança, envelhece gradualmente. Pode-se dizer que a torre é o spa da eternidade, onde você faz tratamentos anti-envelhecimento enquanto escala desafios. Quem precisa de Botox quando você pode derrotar monstros gigantes?

Os desenvolvedores realmente investiram na ideia de transformação da personagem. Você começa como uma criança frágil, depois se torna uma adolescente cheia de hormônios (sem os típicos problemas da adolescência, como espinhas ou corações partidos), até se tornar uma guerreira destemida. É um pouco como participar de um episódio de "Queer Eye for the Heroic Guy" enquanto enfrenta monstros.

E claro, não podemos esquecer do momento "WTF" quando você percebe que a protagonista pode morrer e reencarnar como... uma versão mais jovem de si mesma? Parece que a torre também oferece pacotes de reencarnação, com direito a descontos para membros frequentes.

No final das contas, Toren é como uma jornada de crescimento personalizada para a sua protagonista, misturando elementos de fantasia, filosofia e uma boa dose de "o que diabos está acontecendo?". É um jogo que te deixa pensando: "Se a vida é uma torre sem fim, pelo menos espero que haja um bom sistema de elevadores lá em cima".

Toren é um jogo que conta a história de uma mitologia: a história de uma garota que vive no pós-fim do mundo. O mundo se resume a uma torre, e a protagonista deve escalar essa torre e enfrentar um dragão para salvar a humanidade.

O jogo é poesia pura. Não espere um "Prince of Persia", "God of War", com muitos inimigos e muita ação, mas um jogo com mundo mais vazio, como "Shadow of Colossus". Cada andar há um pequeno "puzzle" a ser resolvido, e o jogo tem bastante narração/texto sobre a história daquele mundo.

O gráfico é tipo "PlayStation 2", mas eu gostei, e tem seu charme. E é também um jogo rápido, de 2 horas.

Se você curte esse tipo de experiência, pode mandar ver.

Toren is a pretty game, and somewhat unique, but overall it is very poorly made and designed. The story is almost completely nonsensical and just says random platitudes which have very little to do with what's going on in the moment. The main character is constantly clipping through the world and objects, and the controls feel floaty and disconnected. Climbing animations do not match to what you're climbing.

Overall, I feel like almost all of the effort for this game went to the character and world design, and the actual implementation was neglected. I don't think it's worth banging your head against the bad gameplay just to experience the game's aethetics.

Fajny pomysł z dorastaniem bohaterki, grafika może być jak na indie grę z 2015 - to tyle z plusów. Dwie godziny biegania, skakania i kilka scen z unikaniem ataków. Fabuła nijaka, czasami tekst pojawiał się tylko na kilka sekund lub nie było go widać. Nie polecam.

Toren is a very good concept, the artwork is charming and the soundtrack delightful, but It’s not optimized very well on the PC, the awkward camera and cluncky controls may be very frustrating for some.
however, the game only lasts a couple of hours, so I recommend to give it a try.

It falls far short from great, and I would struggle to call it good. Toren is... okay, and for a little more than two hours I enjoyed it. Then I decided I'd like to get 100% on the achievements, and I got to deal with a world of glitches. I struggled through the same puzzles and challenges wondering what was wrong. Literally when I was at wits end and just going to uninstall the game, everything unlocked. I'll never know why, but I would only recommend this at 50% off or steeper discounts. My recommendation is that it be played for art more than anything else.

It's a visual novel trapped in an adventure platformer that should've been made as a point-and-click adventure.
But if you like the surreal adventures of games-as-art, then please do give this game a chance.

The art style is great, even if the graphical presentation suffers from a bit of glitching; the sound effects are pleasant and the music is wonderful.

The platforming is not as bad as others reviewed it, and the action is passable. But you're not actually here for that...

The story is weird and all the poetry presupposes you care about what's going on - but you don't even know what *is* going on...

Um dos grandes destaques brasileiros, que fez muito barulho próximo ao seu lançamento, vencendo prêmios e sendo finalista em outros. A finada Swordtales, desenvolvedora do jogo, conseguiu, inclusive, um contrato com a publisher americana Versus Evil. Porém, este possui avaliações neutras na Steam (65%), 57 de Metascore e 5.9 de Metacritic User Score (versão de PC, porém a versão de PS4 possui uma nota muito similar).

Muitos de seus prêmios fazem referência ao seu estilo artístico. Sinceramente, os gráficos do jogo são feios, mesmo para época (lançou no mesmo ano que SOMA e Rocket League), mas o estilo de arte é interessante. O jogo possui uma pegada mais filosófica, porém eu não entendi muito bem a história, além de não concordar com algumas coisas sendo solicitadas no jogo, como “o sangue de um inocente torna toda arma mais forte”, significando que devemos [spoiler]matar um alce inocente para que a nossa arma fique mais forte[/spoiler] (detalhe: desnecessário, não precisamos disso para passar do jogo e não atrapalha muito também). Ele possui mecânicas interessantes que não foram bem aproveitadas ou foram usadas poucas vezes ou, no caso da mecânica de [spoiler]usar vidas passadas suas transformadas em pedra para se esconder do poder que a transforma em pedra[/spoiler], apenas 1 vez. Isso se deve, em partes, ao fato do jogo ser extremamente curto (facilmente zerado e platinado em até 2 horas). Outra coisa mal pensada é que boa parte da história é contada através de sonhos da personagem, sendo que alguns destes sonhos não estão necessariamente em um caminho que você passaria. Desta forma, eu perdi 2 sonhos iniciais da história, então estava bem perdido. E mesmo após assistir estes dois, a história não ficou necessariamente clara, e ainda continua não sendo muito boa, em minha opinião. A gameplay é muito ruim, o controle da personagem principal (Criança da Lua / Moonchild) é muito ruim também.

Uma crítica que eu não vi ninguém falando é o quão desnecessariamente sangrento o jogo é. Você batalha em pouquíssimas instâncias e, ainda assim, sempre que há uma oportunidade, o jogo tenta ser sangrento. Por exemplo: toda vez que você renasce, a personagem está cheia de sangue e com sangue ao redor dela, como se um bebê tivesse acabado de explodir da barriga de alguém naquele momento, e assim você renasceria. Além disto, temos algumas decorações sangrentas também. Não que eu tenha qualquer problema com sangue, mas não só algumas pessoas têm, como isso poderia, também, afetar a classificação indicativa do jogo por um motivo besta e desnecessário.

Por fim, realmente não posso recomendar que compre este jogo, ainda mais pelo valor. Pelo preço atual de R$19,99 simplesmente não vale a pena, é possível encontrar jogos melhores nesta faixa de preço ou pouco acima. Fora isso, a Steam faz desconto toda hora, eu mesmo já comprei jogo de R$150,00 pelo mesmo preço deste jogo. Sinceramente é o que mais vale a pena mesmo.

Zajawka gry ma w sobie coś, co mnie przyciągnęło do niej. Nie najgorszy klip wideo, obrazek ect. Wiadomo, że to gra niszowa, z takimi problemu żadnego nie mam. Oczekiwałem więc ciekawej rozgrywki i może jeszcze czegoś więcej, oby! :)

Nic z tego:
- wizualnie jest słabiutko,
- animacje koślawe
- responsywność postaci bardzo zła
- fizyka tylko w cut scenkach rodem z roku 2000
- kamera raczej słaba
- rozgrywka, czyli to co najważniejsze niemal żadna, bo gra wyjątkowo mało oferuje
- zagadki żenujące lub głupie
- lokacje brzydkie
- architektura lokacji prawie nie istnieje
- amatorstwo w wykonaniu chyba wszystkiego co zobaczyłem.

Oki zbesztane i stłamszone, ale może jednak jest coś na plus?
- mimo wszystko jest w tym jakiś klimat
- sporo różnorodności wizualnych...
- ...i nieco samej rozgrywki!
- do około połowy gry nie było aż tak źle, a minusy nie były aż tak widoczne.

Twórcom widać brak było obeznania w tworzeniu oraz ilości ukończonych gier, produkt bardzo mocno amatorski co dobrze ukrywa trailer gry. Aż nadto dobrze. Toren jak na grę z mieszanymi ocenami jest na prawdę bardzo słabiutki.

При первом же часе игры данное произведение отталкивает от себя,играть неприятно и не особо интересно. Одна из немногих игорь которая меня выбесила,и нет я не о сложности,а об управлении и камере живущей отдельно от персонажа. Героиня не сразу реагирует на нажатия,до какого либо уступа она допрыгивает по воле случая,частенько утыкается в невидимые преграды. Все как то заторможено,будто в воде,анимации медленные и деревянные к тому же.

Моделька главной героини это просто ахтунг,такую физиономию сделать это постараться надо,на скринах еще выглядит более менее,но во время игры вызывает боль,тоску,печаль. На скриншотах кстати все выглядит адекватнее,но стоит запустить понимаешь перед тобой представитель нулевых. Пробую поставить на высокие и приходит понимание что лучше этого делать не стоит,получаю дозу мыльца в рожy и замылены не только задники но и близкое окружение. Как грица есть два стула:терпеть угловатенькие текстурки или довольствоваться мыльцом. Я особо не смотрю на графоний,это ведь далеко не самое главное,но когда эта субстанция называемая игрой смеет фризить на неплохом железе,это как то ни разу не норма.

Управление убило все хорошее в игре,а есть ли в ней что то хорошее,сложный вопрос.

I really had the wrong idea about what this game was. I thought this was some sort of action rpg type game. This is not. This is a simple (see: weak; bad) puzzle platformer with way more text and bad cutscenes and not much gameplay or puzzles. This is extremely skippable.

Toren really isn’t all that bad. Not as bad as some of the reviews I’ve read from other players. Yes it doesn’t have the best platforming and her jump feels a little like Luigi from super Mario, however it good enough to get the job done.

The graphics are a bit ugly close up but the level design and layout is rather nice. The battling isn’t very exciting and very bland at best. Luckily there isn’t very many enemy encounters so you don’t have to rely on sketchy hack n slashing for hours.

The story is okay and talks about a young girl who becomes a woman throughout the game and must face many challenges to become a warrior. The main villain is a dragon and you’ve done something to piss it off tho im not entirely sure what his beef is.

I’ve honestly played worse games so I can’t really place this game in the sucks category. It’s okay but bot great. It probably could have been awesome had the developers had the time and money to throw at it.

This is a two hour long game. Lets get that out of the way now.

I'll be honest; I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Saw the girl with the sword, saw a little gameplay, saw the cheap price and I blindly bought thinking I was gonna have - at the very least - a hack and slasher with (maybe) some RPG elements.

Within minutes of starting it up, the pacing made it clear that I was not gonna find my RPG elements here. A few more minutes informed me that I wouldn't be getting my hack and slash either. What I did get was fulfilling in ways I didn't expect. It was beautiful, mystifying, artistic, mysteriously symbolic. My complaints are fairly minor.... the sand symbol segments are a bit too frequent, and the button that was supposed to clarify your next steps sometimes didn't... but I never had to consult a guide or anything to make it through so I can't make too big of a deal about it. Within the two hours, I did get a sword and some extremely light combat, but that wasn't the focus of the game... it was the progressively building sense that some heavily symbolic things are happening that someone coming into this blind may not immediately understand. I myself feel like I'll be analyzing, researching and discovering more about Toren long after completing this game, and long after the next four times I complete this game... and it actually leaves me wanting to unpack it. That kind of superseded my original goal of beating the numbers out of mobs.

It's one of those games like Ico that I can appreciate for it's artistic and symbolic appeal.

É um jogo legal, mas deve ser levado em conta que foi produzido por brasileiros sem muito investimento, e nós sabemos que esse mercado não é valorizado, não dá para comparar com outros jogos do mercado internacional. Tendo isso em vista, acho o gráfico ótimo, a história é enigmática e interpretativa, como Shadow of the Colossus, a ambientação e trilha sonora é excelente! O único defeito mesmo é o movimento da personagem que é bem robótico se jogar no teclado, tanto que o jogo adverte para jogar de controle, e você não tem noção de quando o jogo está salvando, já aconteceu de eu sair do jogo, e depois ter que rejogar tudo novamente, é um pouco chato, tem que ir no "achômetro" mesmo, mas não chega a incomodar tanto porque o jogo é curto e a dificuldade é baixíssima. Tirando isso, acho que vale a pena demais.

É um jogo interessante, as ideias são legais assim como a história, a jogabilidade não é lá essas coisas e graficamente é o suficiente para o que se propõe embora bem difícil nos olhos em diversos aspectos. O maior problema é a quantidade de bugs, o jogo é curto e nesse pouco tempo a quantidade de vezes que a personagem fica agarrada no ambiente ou simplesmente passa por dentro do cenário e fica presa lá ou cai ao infinito é impressionante.
Em uma promoção é um jogo que até vale dar uma chance.

🎨 [b]Aesthetic[/b]
While the initial concept is interesting, reminding me of the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus games spiritually as well as Malbolgia in a way. It's the "climb the tower" concept with "Ending by Ascending" and "It's All Upstairs from Here" tropes with loading screens with haiku and the story is told like a folktale laden with metaphors. I think the developers tried to make a very deep game in terms of philosophy, spirituality, and aesthetics, but I think even Yoda would be left scratching his head. Just seemed like a salad with everything in the fridge thrown in. The puzzles included are hard to accomplish and try to tie in with the meditation and spiritual aspect, but seems really out of place.

I did complete the game, but once at the ending, the whole game was, in a way, pretentious? The story was so simple but was done in such a roundabout and elaborate way it seemed there was more to it. Everyone knows how to google and I am sure the story is out there, so i would look it up before buying.

The controls are very simple and while that may be good, they are clunky. It's recommended to use a controller, which I used, but then the camera angle became fixed to a corner with the character winding up off-screen, only centering based on where you walk. Only three buttons mapped, while the other functions for the buttons just as menu and what I think is the journal not listed. Switched to keyboard and mouse, same three buttons listed only, and this was where it became nearly impossible to do some of the puzzles. Narrow pathways were not easy to navigate and jumping to other platforms even worse. Just too much with packed into.

📝 [b]TL;DR[/b]
This game needs a third "Meh" option. I recommend this short game on an extreme sale if you can withstand the clunky controls, fixed camera angle with limited free-look, and low polygonal design with pixelation. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

Toren is a fairly simple platform game, with some (very simple) puzzles, visually beautiful and with a short but interesting story.

The controls aren't as precise as they should be and it only lasts a couple of hours, but still it's a good option to play on one of those afternoons when you don't know what to do.

Eu gostaria de dar nota 10 para esse jogo mas...

Acho que a modelagem pouco detalhada, combinada com as cores e o o background no design, acabou por dar uma identidade a mais para o jogo, semelhante ao que acontece com o Valheim.

As batalhas com o boss são interessantes e bem originais.

Quanto ao sistema de escalada, funciona até bem, so que quando personagem chega perto de uma borda, geralmente para interagir com um objeto, ela automaticamente se pendura, acontece com frequencia e isso irrita muito, porque além disso, ela demora demais pra subir de volta.
O caminho a se seguir dentro do jogo é bem confuso e por conta disso eu perdi dois sonhos no inicio.

A camera, em alguns momentos atrapalha demais e se embanana também.

A parte sonora é ok e as musicas são muito boas.

O jogo é curto demais.

Se você tem um pouco de paciência, curte uma bela arte e quer apoiar os nossos Devs Brs, essa é a chance.

I'm not really sure why, but I really liked this game.
It's pretty simple in both story and design and isn't really hard to play, but something in the main character and location design just dragged me into playing it until the very end.
This experience is definitely not for everyone and I juts recommend to be a little patient at the start to see character more grown up, because the begginign is exactly the thing that can scare away some players, it just doesn't look very entertaining and you don't understand much. But if it's still nothing in it for you after that - then you most likely won't find it later in game too.

I want to like this game.
The design is excellent; the graphics are so unique, the concept was great
but even with all of the pros, the cons are make it unplayable
the control is very clunky; you will die not because you lack skill but because the control is so annoying
I hope the developer can make it better so this game can lift to the expectation.

ein Kurzes spiel mit einfachen "rätseln" aber es hat spaß gemacht.
ich probier gerne rum und erkunde am liebsten alle ecken des spiels, bin aber mit unter 3 stunden für alle erfolge mit dem spiel durch.
ich hatte am ende des spiels bevor die credits kamen das gefühl "ok tutorial durch jetzt gehts los" aber dann wars zuende.
außer der länge, für mich zu wenig kämpfe aber da erwarte ich auch was, was das spiel nichtmal versucht zu sein weil es das auch nicht will.
für schnellspieler die nur die story durchziehen wollen wären es vermutlich 90 minuten. immernoch besser als ein kino besuch und in nem sale voll ok. etwa 3 euro für ne stunde spaß is nicht übertrieben finde ich

Toren is a sluggish acion platformer with some delicious, brooding darkness over it. There is a decent game underneath the gritty facade, but it lacks polish in so many important areas that I cannot recommend it.

Crashes and bugs aside, I enjoyed the game. It was okay. I wouldn't recommend it though unless you are desperate for a short jolt of surreal jank.

[b]GOOD:[/b]
- An exotic and surreal theme.
- Climbing the tower and trying to reach the top was rather fun.
- Good sound effects.

[b]NEUTRAL:[/b]
- The game is quite short; I managed to finish it in about three hours.
- The story was kind of vague, but reasonably interesting nonetheless. It raised more questions than it answered though.
- Certain game cues and mechanics are not immediately obvious to the player, e.g. one section requires you to light braziers with a candle, but there is no indication on how or why you'd do this. I guess it adds to the mystery of the game and encourages the player to figure things out on their own, but things could be a bit clearer I feel.

[b]BAD:[/b]
- Every time you return to the main menu, the logos/intro will play.
- Alt-tabbing will probably crash the game.
- There are a few game-breaking bugs which will likely require you to restart the game, e.g. being permanently blown over by the wind, entering a certain room at the wrong time causing a black screen, etc.
- Occasional graphical anomalies can break immersion, e.g. the player character standing on nothing, sections of tree leaves vibrating uncontrollably, etc.
- The dream sequences contain repetitive puzzles that can be summed up as 'draw this shape' or 'avoid this enemy'.
- Combat is rather clunky.

C’est un jeu court (2h environ) avec un gameplay basique (qui pèche un peu par moment), une histoire cryptique (qui peut ne pas être suffisamment détaillée/expliquée pour susciter l’intérêt de certains) et des musiques envoûtantes. Le tout offrant au jeu une ambiance étrange et contemplative mais pas déplaisante ! Assez pour m’avoir donné envie de le refaire entièrement et voir si en faisant tout je pourrais débloquer une autre fin, malheureusement non… Le jeu est loin d’être parfait mais il reste chouette et dans l’ensemble agréable à parcourir. Une bonne expérience pour ma part même si assez courte.
