Why is this game still able to purchase if impossible to run it? Crashes every time i try to launch, because of outdated video driver?!
Okay i tried and found the fix: download the files and overwrite the old ones to get the 1.2 game version, then patch the 1.2exe file to a newer one and it works. All donwload links found here in steam.
BROKEN GAME WON`T START
Stupid game cannot even run when i try to open it and play it. Saying "oh it will not be optimized need drivers to work with it." okay i try to click the button to get the driver and the whole thing crashes and turns my PC into the recent Presidents we had... stupid. I dont know why Steam even still has this game on its platform when it cannot even open and run. And before people start with the "yOu HaVe To GeT tHe PaCtHs" even that dont work.
2nd playthrough. TimeShift feels like a tech demo, and very Half-Life inspired. Pretty short campaign, but engaging gameplay. Most of the time manipulation skills get utilized in a wide variety of ways, I liked that a lot. I had a great time with this game, its definitely not a must play category, but its short, sweet and fun. For me personally this game stuck with me since I was a child, when I first saw videos of it.
I actually like this, its old, yes. Getting it to run is not hard, i9 14900k, 4070Ti. You just need to run your pc on 8 cores and it will start, without any patch or whatever.

Сделана довольно просто: коридорные уровни, где нельзя свернуть «не туда», графика приемлемая.
Про звук и музыку плохого сказать не могу — всё в меру разнообразно. Разновидностей оружия немного — около 8 видов, при этом носить с собой можно только 3. С патронами на обычной сложности проблем особо нет. Противников несколько видов, но по сути их можно разделить на три категории: обычная пехота, улучшенная пехота (со способностями) и «техника/турели».
Есть также две миссии, где мы сидим за зениткой и сбиваем летающие мины, самолёты и вертолёты.
ИИ в игре довольно интересно ведёт себя: прячется за укрытиями, если врагов много — зажимают со всех сторон, пытаются подавлять огнём. Но здесь есть и минус, о котором расскажу ниже.
По стилю и атмосфере игра напоминает Half-Life 2 — именно фрагменты с боями в городе против комбайнов вместе с повстанцами. Также чувствуется влияние Crysis, поскольку у нас есть костюм со способностями.
Суть игры:
Мы получаем костюм, идём по коридорам и выносим противников, параллельно пытаясь понять, что вообще происходит. В борьбе помогает костюм со своими способностями: замедление времени (или ускорение себя), остановка времени и возврат во времени.
Способности отличаются от тех, что были в Crysis, и это добавляет игре особенности. Первую половину игры ты к ним привыкаешь, а дальше уже активно используешь — без них многие ситуации пройти сложно. Есть даже моменты и препятствия, которые требуют обязательного применения способностей.
Минусы игры
Сюжет:
Сюжет подаётся очень слабо. Непонятно, кто главный герой, кто главный злодей, что вообще происходит, куда мы переместились — во времени или в параллельный мир. Игра пытается что-то объяснить, но получается блекло по сравнению с HL или Crysis. Мотивация героя не раскрыта, логика происходящего тоже страдает.
Способности костюма:
Сначала они кажутся крутыми, но их ограниченность и кривая реализация быстро дают о себе знать.
1) Возврат во времени
По сути, почти бесполезная способность, кроме пары мест с головоломками. Откатывает на очень короткий промежуток времени, при этом полностью сжигает энергию. Враги и союзники «воскрешаются», а вот твои снаряды и здоровье — нет.
Реализация странная: ощущение, будто игра ставит «чекпоинт», до которого можно откатиться раз в определённый промежуток времени. Даже если энергии хватает на более глубокий откат, игра не даёт это сделать — способность прерывается. В некоторых моментах её вообще отключают.
2) Остановка времени
Идея крутая, но энергия улетает катастрофически быстро. Успеваешь сделать буквально несколько выстрелов из медленного оружия. В итоге способность оказывается крайне неэффективной в серьёзных боях.
3) Ускорение игрока / замедление мира
Честно говоря, я так и не понял, как именно это работает. Всё вокруг движется очень медленно, но наши выстрелы летят с обычной или даже увеличенной скоростью. Почему способность работает так «выборочно» — непонятно.
Тем не менее именно эта способность становится основной, потому что даёт огромное преимущество в любом сражении и расходует мало энергии.
В итоге из трёх способностей в основном используется только ускорение/замедление времени.
Баланс и поведение ИИ:
Если убрать способности костюма, ИИ на нормальной сложности довольно жёсткий и меткий. Попадает почти всегда, даже если ты за укрытием. Подавляет огнём, пока другие обходят с фланга, кидают гранаты, не дают спокойно сидеть.
Но всё это ломается, как только начинаешь использовать способности. Враги буквально «теряются», не могут нормально реагировать на выстрелы, и ты безнаказанно их уничтожаешь. Даже особые враги перестают ощущаться опасными.
Если же не использовать способности, появляется другая проблема — враги часто уклоняются от снарядов, и происходят странные «фиктивные промахи». Ты чётко видишь, как снаряд летит в противника, но он словно пролетает сквозь конечности мимо. Это повторяется регулярно. Но стоит включить способность — и ты сразу становишься королём меткости.
Прицел:
Отдельный минус — консольный прицел в виде огромного круга по центру. На ПК нет авто-аима, а у некоторых видов оружия пули летят куда попало, что приводит часто к промахам в упор. А для точной стрельбы на дальних дистанциях (а их в игре много) приходится использовать снайперскую винтовку или арбалет — только у них нормальные прицелы.
Отсутствие русской озвучки:
Ещё один минус — отсутствие русской озвучки, хотя она в игре 100% была и должна была быть, ведь разработчики — русские (можно посмотреть в титрах).
Технические проблемы:
На Windows 11 игра не запускается. Пришлось ставить русификатор (от Rusik) и фикс запуска (от Fappy / 666KoD666). Спасибо им за руководства — благодаря этому получилось нормально поиграть и наконец пройти игру спустя много лет.
Итог:
В целом игру могу порекомендовать тем, кто любит коридорные шутеры с изюминкой в виде необычных способностей, и уже не раз проходил Battlefield, Call of Duty, Titanfall, Half-Life или Crysis.
Игра короткая — около 8 часов. На один раз пройти вполне можно.
+ за возможность забрать оружие у противника во время остановки времени ;)

Yine de olumlu yorum bırakıyorum çünkü o dönemin oyunlarını seviyorum. Her şeyine rağmen 6/10'luk oyundur en kötü. Çok fazla kafa yormadan oynayabileceğiniz bir başka single player FPS. Bunu oynamasanız da olur. Singularity'e bakabilirsiniz TimeShift yerine.

Всё остальное в игре — сюжет, враги, уровень оружейного арсенала — выполнено на троечку с плюсом, демонстрируя профессиональную, но лишённую вдохновения работу. Таким образом, игра создаёт сильный когнитивный диссонанс: вы одновременно восхищаетесь гениальностью ключевой механики и зеваете от скуки во время очередной перестрелки в очередном ангаре.
Лично я получил от TimeShift специфическое, нишевое удовольствие. Удовольствие экспериментатора, который радуется, находя новые способы использовать свои силы против предсказуемого мира. Но я почти не получил удовольствия от нарратива, напряжённого противоборства с хитрым ИИ или тактического разнообразия в выборе оружия. Игра оставила после себя чёткое воспоминание об ощущении могущества от управления временем и очень размытое — обо всём остальном. Я могу рекомендовать её только как курьёзный эксперимент для больших поклонников жанра, интересующихся механиками контроля времени, и с оговоркой, что они должны быть готовы к посредственности во всех сопутствующих элементах.

I actually enjoyed this game when I originally played it in the mid-2000's, but it's a negative now - graphics hold up reasonably well given its age, but the game shows its age in so many other says, with the cheap tactics of shooters of its time: enemies pop-up from nowhere, guns don't have zoom, weapons have huge spread, and this game in particular over-relies on needing to use the time-powers to slow enemies to survive encounters (at least on Skilled settings and above), which means waiting around for your time-bar to refill, which is tedious.
The actual time-shifting mechanic is rarely cleverly used, sadly, unlike the lovely time-shift level in Titanfall 2.
But the main reason for the review is that this game won't even launch now, without downloading a patch file from a wiki site, which is needed to bypass the outdated GPU detection dialogue! In other words, you can pay money to buy this on Steam, and it won't even launch! Annoyingly, I bought this before Christmas along with a couple of other games, and now I'm outside of the two-week window, so Valve refused my refund, despite less than a minute of gameplay to confirm it doesn't launch. This feels actually fraudulent, tbh, and while I'd expect that from Activision, I don't expect it from Valve.
Look elsewhere. I spent 40 minutes playing this after applying a dodgy patch... now you don't have to.
Played on CachyOS (Arch-varient) without issue, beyond the GPU detection bug which affects Windows too.

Es un shooter muy divertido. Es extremadamente lineal avanzas y matas, lo cual no es malo, como he dicho es divertido.
De hecho, las partes de puzzles, son sencillas, pero rompen el ritmo del juego. Sobre todo, porque tienes que ser relativamente preciso con tus poderes para que te de tiempo, y a veces tienes que repetir los puzzles.
Hay pocas armas, y durante la mitad del juego sólo hay 3. ¿Pero a quien le importa, teniendo la escopeta?
Los poderes son 3 (ralentizar el tiempo, pararlo, o dar marcha atras). La regeneración de vida y de poderes es automática y rápida. El nucleo jugable es simple, te llega una oleada de enemigos, te acercas, ralentizas el tiempo, y les disparas en la cara. Cuando se te acabe el poder, pues lo haces a velocidad normal. Es simple, pero divertido.
La ambientación futurista / distópica es muy buena, sobre todos los primeros niveles. Eso sí, la historia es casi nula.
En definitiva, un shooter sencillo, simple y divertido.

В основе здесь прямое управление временем с помощью экспериментального боевого костюма. Геймплей построен на трех способностях костюма. Замедлении, полной остановке и обратной перемотке времени.
Узнаются многие черты Half-Life 2, в частности в сюжете. Его кстати, лучше не держать у себя в голове.
Солидная графика для тех времён и "играть со временем" одно удовольствие.
this was a nastalgia whim, i wanted to play this in the past, but with ps3 dying, i thought pc was the way. tldr, its a rain day type of game, the amount of energy for time powers isn't much, and vehicle controls are trash.

I've had this for a while on Steam, worked with windows10 and still works with win11. This is a good game for the time it came out. The mechanics of the game are fun, story is pretty good. I had lots of fun with this game on my ps3 all those years ago. Recommended!

this games graphics and atmosphere really holds up one of the best looking games from 2007 and the gameplay is also very fun it kinda reminds me of the gameplay in fear but instead of the time slowing down because of reflexes you actually control time and some of those time puzzels are pretty cool anyway if you have never played timeshift you really need to give it a try just head over to pcgamingwiki and get 2 fixes or it's not gonna run one is called 8 core cpu fix and the other one updates the game to the newest version of the game once you have dragged and dropped those in to the folder it's gonna work flawless it runs on a toaster while looking really good

Фишка с замедлением времени конечно-же тащит все, при том что в отличие от например FEAR, которую можно пройти вообще не используя этот прием, этот шутер пробежать просто с наскока не получится, враги очень злые и на удивление умные и меткие, и выносят игрока на раз-два даже на нормальной сложности. Разнообразия в уровнях также хватает, хоть игра и очень короткая. Портит, наверное, только рваная и куцая подача сюжета, из-за чего я так его до конца и не понял. Но пострелять по болванчиком, все же было весело. Арбалет с взрывающимися патронами - имба.

in 2007 the game itself was both ahead of its time and already outdated.
wanna say, the devs deserve respect for making that Half-Life 2 rip-off with their own engine and while somehow anticipating Crysis and Singularity. eventually, it helped Saber build its first reputation, and it grew into a big multi-studio company, so, it was worth it, I guess.
in 2025, TimeShift is good for archeology, I suppose, nothing more. shooting feels weak and boring, plot has no sense. but almost 20 years later I can finally play it without lags and admire its bizarre obsession with wet, highly detailed textures, and of course, leather jackets on everyone in the Resistance. every location, every scene still has this vibe of crazy ambitions and sleepless nights to make it happen.
and also, it could be interesting to discuss why TimeShift was a big deal for russian players back in the day, and what it shares with Atomic Heart. I mean, from a cultural perspective. but we probably know the answer, and it doesn't matter now anyway.
time to move on.
If you like 2000s shooters I'd say this one is worth playing if you get it on sale. You'll have to download a couple patches to get it working properly. Not amazing by any means but a solid 6 or 7/10.

Un juegardo infravalorado en su momento, lastima que hoy en dia en equipos modernos ni pueda arrancar el juego (o al menos en mi caso) y no se pueda jugar de ninguna forma en Windows 11, ni para iniciar va, aunque descargue lo que requiere me sigue diciendo ''drivers incompatibles'', seguramente haya algun parche por ahi en internet pero alta paja tener que rebuscarse tanto para jugar a algo, una lastima u_u.
En resumen, no lo recomiendo porque la version de steam esta rota, si logras de alguna forma hacerlo andar genial, lo vas a disfrutar

The story is kind of there but not really the main focus. The gameplay and technological advancements of that era are noteworthy though. You can manipulate time itself to either skip through it, rewind it or even pause it. Using this mechanic you will be solving puzzles, outsmarting enemies and eventually its a core mechanic that you have to utilise to beat this game.
Other than that the weapons in this game are top notch I enjoyed using each and every one of them and even more they have alt fire modes that are satisfying to use. The shotgun? While not at the level of Doom or FEAR's shotgun it still packs quite a punch.
So in short? Awesome game mechanics, awesome weapons some annoying puzzles and a lot of fun ones too, an alright story plus some bonus content.

Great 'old ass' game :D
This is tough for me because I LOVE THIS GAME, but blast it I cannot get it to work for me. No matter where I buy a copy from none of the downloads will actually open the game. At first I thought it was my computer but then I borrowed an Alienware. Beast of a machine, and it had the exact same problem. I love the game but until I can get my hands on a copy that works I regretfully cannot recommend it. But hey you can buy it, test it, if it works great, if not request a refund. Good luck.

1. Фишка с манипуляцией временем! Saber Interactive буквально первопроходцы в этой механике, и они задали такую планку аж 2007 году. Потом появится что то похожее в Singularity (2010) и Quantum Break (2016). Поправьте меня, в комментариях если я какую то из игр пропустил до момента выхода TimeShift.
2 .Стрельба!
В игре она весьма приятная и чувствуется, от пистолета до ракетницы, стрельба по конечностям врагов даёт это понять, выстрел в конечность будет сопровождаться анимацией и так, что это действительно больно выглядит, оружие так же можно выбить из рук выстрелом, вот урон порой как то странно проходит но это я опишу в минусах...
3. Звук!
Видимо это проблемы ру локализации, но чужую речь хорошо слышно только по рации или через рупор, когда ГГ слушает задачи в живую почти ничего не слышно, хотя это не мешает нажать на TAB и посмотреть задачи, но всё равно, неприятненько.
4. Окружение!
Ооооо это отдельный вид искусства в этой игре.
Saber3D Engine поддерживает реалистичный дождь, мокрые поверхности и отражения.
Особенно эффектно это смотрится в замедлении времени — капли и брызги застывают в воздухе, а вспышки молний и огня подсвечиваться создавая эффект что это не кусок графики а полноценное живое явление природы на момент выхода игры иcпользовлся HDR что было в новинку для некоторых проектов.
Вы когда ни будь смотрели долго на стены? Нет? В этой игре будете! Я не помню как называется этот эффект но кирпичи имеют форму при просмотре под практически любым углом и только встав к стене вровень станет ясно что текстура плоская и это касается не только кирпича других деталей тоже, и тени на них падают так как положены, хотя с тенями тут есть проблемы.
И я не всё описал тут...
А теперь об минусах:
1.Сюжет... слабый, история и мотивация персонажей не очень убедительны короткие ролики на секунды не дают понять что происходит вообще, как будто шорты в ютубе смотришь, только еще короче...
2. Линейность уровней (аКа Crysis 2) и задачи/головоломки часто однообразны интересны но успевает наскучить.
3. Окружение, с тенями бывают проблемы, особенно заметно в узких коридорах или при включённой функции динамического света (HDR), они дрожат или “прыгают” при движении камеры. В графике игры это было самое слабое место...
- Замедляешь время — частицы и враги замирают, но тень от них продолжает двигаться или дрожать.
- При остановке времени — тени всё ещё слегка “шевелятся”, потому что постпроцесс эффекта времени накладывался поверх, но не “замораживал” систему теней.
Это особенно видно, если смотреть на фонарные столбы или прожекторы —
их свет остаётся активным даже при стоп-тайме...
4. Ограниченное время использование фишек со временем, но это больше обусловлено системой самой игры.
UPD: На момент публикации забыл описать систему урона
5. Урон, фатальный с любого оружия пистолет наверное был моим фаворитом в этой игре, разброса почти нет патронов достаточно, при прицельной и точной стрельбе их хватит на долго, а вот ракетница, можно выстрелить за спиной простого моба и по нему урон не пройдёт, там буквально 2-3 метра от взрыва а он целый и стреляет по игроку, у других АоЕ Тоже как то криво работает, короче выстрел в голову решает!
Игра с любопытной геймплейной «фишкой» (манипуляция временем), и если вам нравятся шутеры и вам не принципиален сюжет — стоит попробовать рефанд не отменяли в случае чего)), особенно за умеренную цену или как ретро-игру. Однако, если вы ожидаете глубокую историю или революционный шутер уровня лучших в жанре — она может разочаровать.
Если бы я рекомендовал её:
«Для любителей жанра и аркадной атмосферы» — Бери себе, другу, подруге и тому пацану.
«Для искателей эпического сюжета и долгой кампании» — скорее нет.

Про TimeShift практически нечего сказать, это типичный представитель старого подхода к геймдизайну, где игроку давали множество простых прикольных гиммиков, которые никак не развиваются, но меняются так часто, что геймплей не успевает надоедать. Тут классический набор механик "шутана из нулевых": регенерация здоровья, возможность носить только несколько пушек, роль полоски выносливости выполняет шкала управления временем, уровень со стрельбой из турели и конечно босс-вертолет. Из уникального только механика управления временем, реализация которой меня удивила, т.к. она влияет буквально на все, вплоть до возвращения отлетевших частиц от разрушенных объектов. Первые минут 10 я останавливал время чтобы рассмотреть летящие капли дождя, настолько круто это выглядит. Противники тоже реагируют на замедление и остановку времени, периодически проговаривая реплики о том, какой герой быстрый или удивляясь куда он исчез. В целом игра стоит внимания, это добротный шутер на пару вечеров, в котором нет раздражающих и душных моментов

Душу бы продал за продолжение, или хотя бы ремастер. Самая недооценённая игра, некоторые механики актуальны по сей день. TimeShift - первый шутер в моей жизни. Спасибо за детство, легенда!❤
Amazing Game.
Great game...old style (2007)...but still looks good today. Aesthetically similar to Bioshock and runs like F.E.A.R. The temporal manipulation mechanics work well and the physics are impressive for the time. Be warned that the game needs to be updated to run properly on modern systems. Such a blast from the past with this one. Just seeing that Sierra logo hits me with nostalgia.
Still stands up today after so many years, but as other reviews stated, it didn’t work at first for me either. Fortunately, all I needed to get it to work was a fix called TimeShift CPU Fix [1.2], but even after I got it to run on my PC I still had an issue, the mouse sensitivity kept going high every time I started the game, and had to keep resetting it in settings.
What a classic, it was great to come back to this game and experience it all over again~

spent all my money on the system that i had nothing left over for a "good" video game so i bought this one from the $20 bin at best buy.
and was extremely surprised to find how rich it actually is.
never did get to pass it so i decided to buy it for the steam deck and the memories.
did both the 1.2 patch and the cpu patch to get it running.
I was pleasantly surprised by TimeShift. At the time it was released, due to the stiff competition it faced, it was considered an average, or even under-average game. However, it has been a pretty entertaining experience. Solid gameplay, surprisingly competent graphics with very good gore and ragdoll system which make the combat very enjoyable, some simple puzzles and platforming requiring the use of the time manipulation powers you get, overall a pretty solid experience. It's also just about as long as a linear single player shooter should be.
That being said, it is still a middleware title and it does show at times. The game is a bit janky, it does not always run all that well even on a PC that's way better than anything that was available on its release, the Steam version is broken and you do need to at least apply a 1.2 patch (available on pc gaming wiki), and in some cases also use a modded exe file (also on pc gaming wiki), the voiceacting, characters, story - basically all fo the non-gameplay stuff is competent, I guess, but that's about it.
Game also ends on a cliffhanger and honestly, I wouldn't mind TimeShift 2 at all, maybe with a bit more production value and better writing, to actually explain wtf is going on. Probably won't ever get it, which is a shame.
Anyways, recommend buying on discount, due to having to mess with patches from third party sites and such. Or maybe get it on GOG, they have a patched version IIRC.

The Game Has Screwed My PC Up my PC Everytime I have loaded it along with screwed up all my other hdd files as well as caused me to have to replace three computers... That were using xp... Then PC with win 7 along with PC with win 10... It screwed up my video cards along with CPU and or bios... On each of the different motherboards I was using each time I tried to use... And that with loading the patch that could be found online at different videogame pages... It cost me over $5000 replacing my PC each time... I'm getting the whole reason was to screw up steam... Make people think steam was causing people's PCs problems so that they would stop using steam to buy and play games... Because steam was taking away business from these other video game companies that were creating video games for game machines... As this game came out before these different video game machines had their own websites connected to them... To buy and sell their own games for their own game machines... So I give this game a big thumbs down... Thanks a lot Activision... Because Everytime I uninstalled the game after along with ran antivirus and malware software... The bugs continued the keyboard would start to screw up... Along with the screen... Until eventually blue screen happens as your whole hard drive is screwed up... Im seriously wondering if someones intelligence agency has a hand in it...

Jank garbage that didn't age well at all. Guns lack any punch or impact, the story is cookie-cutter and nonexistent, enemies are lame bulletsponges that don't feel fun to shoot or even interact with, artstyle is bland 2000's greys and browns.
For everyone giving this a pass cus it came out in 2007, FEAR came out in 2005 and done literally EVERYTHING better than this game, including it's core premise of time manipulation. I understand going easy on older games, but it's okay to call a duck, a duck. This game sucks and isn't for anyone besides someone who deliberately wants to go spelunking into forgotten 2000's jank.
P.S. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, if you're desperate to play it that badly, get it from GOG, otherwise you'll go through possibly hours of tinkering just to play mediocre sludge.

i played on past back in 2015 or 2016 but it was pirate and until i got this game by buyiny, it remind me good memory and pure nostalgia, i miss the good old times when gaming was still golden in the years 2000s
it's travel on time, you manipulate the time in your favor as well weapons and everything behind you but you have to be smart and good, otherwise it won't work. the game have a great story at which you travel on time in a alternative world ruled by a dictator with advanced tecnhology at which it's time to stop him doing the bad stuff
some people complaint saying the game is borning or bugged just dont listen to they, their taste are not good, the game is very awesome and aged like wine of good quality still worth to play in those days of today.

Хочу сказать на прямую,игра 7 из 10.для той эпохи нормальная оценка игры.Сюжет средничок, можно было сделать продолжение концовка как раз заинтересовала,хотя я бы посмотрел на первый вариант сюжета игры.

A decent fps game with fun gimmicky time manipulation mechanics. If you're playing this on modern systems and Linux you'll need to download the 1.2 patch and a CPU problem fix .exe file. Then drop all the files in the game folder and the .exe in the bin folder. Don't forget to delete the previous TimeShift.Exe (it's case sensitive so note the difference in name). Experimental as the Proton version did the trick.
There's not much to say about the game itself. It's what you might expect, you shoot soldiers with different sci-fi guns and manipulate time to evade dangers and do some platforming. Visually the game wasn't cutting edge for its time, but good enough to not be a strain for the eyes. It looks like F.E.A.R. but that game was released two years prior to this. It's still a relic of its era worth playing at least once.
The game was good but did not make sense due to your in a suit that is capable of going back in time as well. yet your limited to only short burst of time due to your suit being damaged. It was a new suit with new features. I don't think the creatures of the game planned the game well. Though it was a fun game to play.

O game é um FPS típico da sua era (vulgo primeira década de 2000), com aquelas armas high-tech cheias de vincos, encaixes, válvulas e quinas só esperando tu vacilar pra pegar no canto do seu olho. Em resumo, é um jogo linear sobre correr e atirar e, na maioria das vezes, correr e atirar em câmera lenta. E essa parte é sensacional.
De gameplay ele manda super bem. É meio genérico, sim, mas as armas são divertidas e a mecânica de manipulação do tempo é bem daora e sempre cria uns rushs insanos.
A narrativa simplesmente não existe - até mesmo num nível conceitual, já que a gente volta no tempo pra desfazer a própria história do jogo - e a estética é pouco chamativa, mas, no final, o que carrega é a gameplay.
Ou seja, se tu tiver um pouco de paciência e 4 horinhas sobrando no domingo, pode ser uma gameplay interessante.

I was hoping for a great FPS game of the late 2000s, and what I got was a quite good one.
Dont get me wrong, but it was a tad dissappointing to be honest.
And I also hoped for a more clever use of the time manipulation mechanics.
In some parts it feels unnatural and forced into the game.
And the fact that the game does not run out of the box without fixes and patches, is not great.
On the positive side though, the graphics were absolutely stunning (for 2007) with solid sounds and music. And at its best its fun and entertaining.
So if you're in for some retro sci fi FPS gaming, this should be added to your list.
As long as you dont expect too much from it.

Timeshift é um excelente fps, com bastante ação, gráficos, som e efeitos muito bonitos, bem feitos e interessantes. A história começa quando em um Instituto de pesquisas que está prestes a desenvolver trajes especiais que possibilitam a viagem no tempo, um dos cientistas desse instituto decide voltar ao passado e com os conhecimentos científicos à frente da época para onde voltou, consegue criar uma ditadura tecnológica inspirada nos três regimes totalitários que dominaram partes e quase toda europa em parte do século XX: fascismo, nazismo e stalinismo. Isso não é uma interpretação particular minha e pode ser constatado nos símbolos e toda parte artística do passado retrofuturista que se mostra claramente inspirada na iconografia dos regimes citados. Voltando à história, o protagonista do jogo também é um cientista do Instituto de pesquisas que decide voltar à mesma época que o cientista-chefe voltou para impedi-lo de concretizar seu plano. Ao chegar naquele passado, percebe a existência de um grupo rebelde que luta para depor a ditadura e e se alia com eles. O jogo consiste em lutar contra as forças do cientista-chefe em combates bastante intensos. Os npc's realmente funcionam, matando alguns inimigos sem que vc precise avançar logo de cara. Além do combate tradicional com tiros, vc dispõe de um traje especial que lhe permite paralisar, voltar no tempo ou dimnuir a velocidade do tempo, conforme a necessidade e como já visto em outros jogos como Fear, Syndicate e Max Payne. Porém, aqui, esse recurso não está de modo aleatório, mas realmente faz parte da história. Há uma boa variedade de armas e também algumas situações que vc pode usar veículos, como um quadri-moto, além operar armas de outros veículos. Os gráficos são ótimos com efeitos de chuva, por exemplo, que são muito bonitos. Além disso, o jogo é muito competente na física dos combates, com algum sangue, explosões, corpos voando e se desintegrando de maneira muito bem feita, se atingidos por algumas armas. É um fps que merece ser jogado e admirado pelos fãs do gênero e que ao meu ver, envelheceu muito bem.
It's not bad, but it's not particularly good either.
Do have in mind that only people who like slow, clunky, predictable oldshool games will enjoy this one. If you do not tolerate retro games, best avoid this one.

I played this a ton on 360 back in the day. I had trouble trying to get it to work on PC though at the time so I have like no hours which is sad because this was a fun time shooter. I'll have to try again and see if there are some fixes that work better.
A lot of the negative reviews seem to be from ppl who are playing an almost 20 year old game expecting it to be at the same level and knowledge of a current service fps. This was out when there were tons of fps games trying different mechanics. Time manipulation was big around FEAR and as an added feature to separate from other games. It was done to death since but this was in the thick of a bunch of games trying it. This wasn't one of the most groundbreaking or crazy series starting entries, but it was a really fun time shooter to plug and play, and at the time had pretty good visuals. There were many like this that werent GOTY but were still a good time to go through once and awhile. This felt a lot like the speedy shooters like DOOM or Quake.
People saying the story seems thrown together or some alternate dystopian thing. Yes. Thats what it is. A lot of these games did that that way on purpose. It was supposed to be an over the top take, maybe even tropey. Or maybe it just seems that way now because its been done so many times after. Some things in entertainment used to be more about doing some crazy or embellished stuff to be fun or keep your attention. Games were one upping each other actually trying to be something that would stand out when things were competitive in these companies and not just indies. You didnt even get a cut scene lecture about how your lifestyle made the future so bad in the plot. What a nice time it was.
Its not as nutty as like borderlands or something but it has time grenades, explosive bows, freezing time and lighting someone up, random time travel and hard to understand events going on. Its an alternate history dystopian sci fi.
A group that I always put this together in are games like Dark Sector, F.E.A.R., Condemned, Saboteur, Protoype, etc. Some do better than others. Theyre games that werent world shaking (maybe with exception of FEAR), but still were plenty fun to play and even go back to, and had their own feel and flavor to them you couldnt find in many other places. They scratch an itch.
$20 is a bit much, but on a sale its a fun one to pick up when you feel like using a time suit, guns and grenades, to take down a madman who makes a bad timeline.

On sale, it's still absolutely worth it. It was a solid 7/10 game back in the day, one of the many AA releases that hardly exist anymore but were enjoyable rentals or cheap pick ups. Sadly the big publishers have swallowed almost everyone and so these types of games rarely appear, it's overpriced AAA or indie, but that's a different story.
The game is still enjoyable and the slow mo is still fun - there's a reason that so many games used this mechanic after Max Payne. Ok, the bullets do sound weedy as some others have mentioned, but that's a seriously minor issue. The crossbow is the weapon of choice anyway.
The environment perhaps could be more varied, there's a lot of trekking through industrial factory type places.However, there is the occasional turret sequence or outdoor vehicle section and they are welcome when they appear, just as a break in pace.
Be aware that I had to download an exe to get the game to work, that's a shame that it didn't work straight from install and probably an easy fix for the publisher, which will they aren't actively working on the game, they are still happy to sell it and put it on sale now and then, so they haven't forgotten about it.
Once I downloed the exe, it ran flawlessly at 114fps and ultra wide, certainly a step up from the 360 many years ago.

Купил в стиме для игры на деке и столкнулся с тем что в игре просто дико быстро работало управление движениями персонажа , причем настроить нам более медленный режим не получилось . In the near future, scientists are able to create an alpha suit designed for time travel. Aiden Krohn, the main villain of the game, travels to the past and changes it. By creating an alternate universe, he becomes the absolute ruler there. The main character gets at his disposal a beta suit (an analog of an alpha suit, but designed for military purposes) and goes back in time in order to stop the destructive actions of Cronus. But due to the fact that the beta suit was not completely finished and the laboratory exploded, an accurate time jump was impossible. The hero got into the past many years late compared to Krohn. Now the hero will have to fight his way to the Crown by force.
This game is extremely underrated, but it was released at a time when BioShock, Crysis, and COD4 hadn't been released yet, so there weren't many people playing TimeShift. What I like most about TimeShift is that you have the ability to control time: slow it down, stop it, or even rewind it for a short period of time, so you have to use the suit correctly so that your special abilities are effective. The gameplay is somewhat similar to Crysis, but still TimeShift is a very original game, and in my opinion TimeShift inspired games like Wolfenstein 2009 and many other similar games.
What interested me:
1. Cool shootouts.
It's nice and fun to shoot in this shooter. The arsenal of weapons is fairly standard, but the barrels do not look trivial and feel different. Firefights confer bruising, dismemberment, and moderate destructibility
2. Time management.
This is the idea of time management. The player has at his disposal such chronosuit abilities as time stopping, time dilation and time inversion, which can only be used effectively in certain situations, in some situations this option is blocked altogether. Time manipulation requires energy, which is consumed during use, but then quickly restored to normal operation.
3. References to the Third Reich.
The main villain, having moved back in time, created his own "Reich" with symbols very similar to the Nazi one. This is one of the few plot advantages, because it gives the impression that the main character is fighting not just a mad scientist, but a real Evil Empire.
It resembles the game Wolfenstein...
4. Beautiful locations.
The design of the first level is generally a masterpiece, in my opinion. The monumental architecture of the buildings and futuristic robots create an indescribable atmosphere. The rain and many other structures and buildings are very well implemented.
5. Attention to small things (such as shooting and blood).
Boots leave bloody footprints, bullets destroy the environment, and the effects of a grenade explosion are visible to the naked eye.
In TimeShift, you can do crazy things in a special costume, and that's exactly the feature of this game.

This game is extremely underrated, but it was released at a time in which BioShock, Crysis and COD4 were out, so not many people did play TimeShift. Anyway, this is a fantastic game and in 2007. TimeShift and Crysis were the best looking games for me. What I love the most in TimeShift is, that you have the ability to control time: slowing, stopping or even rewinding time for short period of time, so you gotta use the Suit properly, in order your special abilities to be effective. And the gameplay is kinda like Far Cry, Half-Life 2, Quake 4, F.E.A.R. and Crysis, but still TimeShift is a very original game and in my op TimeShift inspired games like Wolfenstein 2009 and Singularity and many more games like these. In TimeShift you can do insane stuff with the special suit and this is where this game shines the most.
Half Life 2 with time puzzle and Halo health system.
-For an older game, the combat is surprisingly good with clever combat mechanics and good AI.
-Time mechanics are pretty solid and creatively used for the puzzles.
-The art style is good, albiet the graphics are dated.
-Sound design is pretty average, but it works.
-Story isn't great, but the missions are still very fun. Somewhat on the short side.

It looked and played amazing when it came out. Replaying it once again now after 17 years, still looks and feels amazing. Quality stuff!
Playable after putting in a couple of patches. Running on Windows 11. As a shooter is average by today's standards, but its the time manipulation that makes the game stand out. Very ambitious game for an early PS3 title.

Могу ли я рекомендовать или советовать покупать эту игру у Activision, которая просто наплевала на игроков и поддержку игры? Нет.
Чтобы поиграть в игру на русском языке, требуется патч 1.02 +фикс. Всё это имеется в руководствах игры.
К тому же, чтобы игра шла без лагов, статтеров и фризов и проч, надо настроить совместимость exe файла с Windows XP(например с SP3) и поставьте режим " только для чтения", если проблемы останутся, возможно манипуляция с количеством ядер и вертикальной синхронизацией могут помочь.
A very fun, linear fps with time manipulation mechanics!
6/10 feels like an average early 2000s story shooter. With the added mechanic of bullet-time so you can simply go for headshots. It's all back-to-back firefights with you constantly using your time abilities repeatedly. Took me about an hour to really get good with the combat, as the bullet-time is a pretty firm requirement, else most of your shots become body shots and the enemies soaks those very well. Once you get the crossbow, it quickly becomes the best weapon bar none since you can activate bullet-time and shoot each enemy once in the body and they die with one shot universally. Except maybe the quantum soldiers with the charge blaster, but just going for a quick headshot with bullet-time solves them easily.
The story, is there, and it's very rushed. There's minimal time spent in exposition and you'll just be teleported to the next level to fight enemies. The ending was very anti-climatic and just ends off with a "paradox imminent" where the suit time jumps the protag (no idea what his name is) to some timeline and then roll credits, yeah that's how it ended.
I used to play this game alot om the Xbox 360. Playing it now its still a great game

Old school but time manipulation is next lvl
I heard a lot about this game and wanted to try it for myself. I wanted to like it. I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
As far as linear sci-fi action FPS games go, this is pretty standard fare. If not for the time manipulation mechanics I'd say down right generic. The gunplay is serviceable, nothing really feels *great* to use. There's a lack of presence in the weapon animations, which feels odd since the UI itself is animated so well.
The story is, uh, there. Sort of. As each level transition comes and goes you'll be transported to a different location. It doesn't feel very seamless, even though the narrative sets it up to be.
Speaking of the narrative, you're pretty much just thrown into it. It's a fairly simple premise: bad guy goes back in time and ends up creating a dystopian society, you're the one going back in time to stop it, et cetera.
Each of the levels that I played usually had you joining up with a crew of generic friendly soldiers for a minute or two before they are ultimately killed off and replaced by another batch of clones in the next level. I wondered when I would meet a character that actually stuck around for a little while. I wondered when it would be explained who all these people were. I wondered when someone would notice I'm a time traveler and tell me what the hell is going on. Obviously there is some sort of resistance movement, but that's the most depth you're going to get from it.
There's nothing for the player to latch on to that really motives them to push forward. Maybe I stopped playing right before that happened, maybe not. Perhaps I'll revisit this one day.
