The OST eclipses the game itself. The OST is too good for this game. It's just too good period. I bought this game based on the music in the trailer, because at the time the OST wasn't on Youtube and I needed to be able to listen to the game's music files. Oh my god I love this OST. The OST is so much better than the game. The game is, I'm sure, fine for what it is, but I hate these kinds of games. I don't want to spend hours collecting pies, or coins, or rings, or whatever. I do, however, want to listen to more of this game's OST. Right now. Goodbye.

Puzzle platformer with comic-like noir aesthetics. As an unhinged gentleman with sweet tooth for pies, you solve small puzzle levels with the help of your time-recorded clones and coordinated manuevers. There's some poetic backstory running through the chapters, for some engagement in the surreal steampunkish world.
Personally, I find myself rather frustrated doing the constant trials-and-errors in figuring out the solutions to puzzles, which are dependent on the close timing and speed of your execution. So, I felt done about half-way through. For puzzle fans only, I'll say.
One of the earliest games I bought on Steam after transitioning from console gaming, this was part of my first dive into random, cheap indie titles - and it’s still one of the most memorable. It’s a charming little puzzle-platformer with an incredible soundtrack and witty writing (for how little writing there is). My only gripe is a classic short-game issue: each zone introduces a new power, and just when things start getting really interesting, that zone ends and a new mechanic takes over. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, and the soundtrack has stayed in my rotation ever since.
British people and pies. If you like those things, then you'll like this game. Very much a braid clone, but without the color palette and the intriguing abstract (and angsty) story. Very much a stylistic litmus test - one which I failed.

Despite some odd font issues due to the title's age the puzzle platforming works well and provides a lot of variety and clever reuse of levels.
Years back, during the winter sale of 2010, Totalbiscuit threw this into a review he was doing and made me aware it was $0.37 and that I couldn't even get a mini packet of crisps for that price. So I did, and it's pretty good! I'd say the $5 asking price is also worth it. It's an enjoyable little game.
Unfortunately my time on record doesn't reflect the actual time played, as many many moons ago, Steam didn't count time played if you were playing in offline mode. (Something I often did back then due to unreliable internet access on my laptop when going places.)
It's certainly not some Shakespearean level of plot depth or anything, but it's still pretty good and is genuinely entertaining. I had fun with it, and it's well overdue that I at least give it the thumbs up recommendation it deserves, even if I am a good 15 years late with that.

Este es el primer juego que me compré en Steam. Ea, ya lo he dicho. Y tuvieron que pasar 13 años para que me lo acabara. ¡Por fin! No es que sea muy largo como puedes ver, es simplemente que lo vas dejando y dejando hasta que te das cuenta de que ya es algo personal. -.-
Realmente yo entré en Steam por el Orange Box físico, como mucha otra gente en su día, y luego vino Darksiders también en físico (otro pendiente… -.-), pero comprar lo que es comprar en la tienda fue The Misadventures of P.H. Winterbottom el primero. Creo que junto a este vinieron poco después una docena más, pero ese es otro tema. ¬¬
Ya sabes, esos años febriles donde no se te pasaba por la cabeza que en tu siguiente vida no ibas a heredar tu cuenta de Steam y que por lo tanto no hay tiempo físico posible para poder acabártelos todos. Qué años más locos e inocentes. Sí, a esa conclusión llegas cuando ya vas por los 1.000 juegos, ¿y te sirva para frenar? Ni mucho menos, pero eso es otro tema. ¬¬
Así que sí, desvirgado por un bigotudo come-tartas. ¿Ha merecido la pena tanta espera? Pues realmente el juego es divertido, pero tienen que gustarte mucho los puzles, porque si no puede ser una experiencia un tanto desesperante y amarga por mucha tarta que haya.
[h1]Tartas, tartas y más tartas[/h1]
En el juego tomaremos el control de P.H. Winterbottom, un personajillo huraño y no muy agraciado que siente auténtica pasión por comer tartas, y nunca tiene suficiente. Todo esto va a provocar más de un problema, y ahí es donde entraremos nosotros para intentar que todo acabe más o menos bien sin que el mundo desaparezca en el proceso.
Realmente, el juego presenta al personaje y el mundo donde se desarrolla el juego de manera magistral. Todo a ritmo de piano y de forma muy movida, con textos en rima y con un cariz muy divertido y desenfadado. Esa parte está realmente genial, y dota al juego de un ritmo y una vibra muy interesante.
El juego como tal se basa en ir por diferentes fases divididas en diferentes escenarios donde tendremos que atrapar todas las tartas que haya en pantalla. Pero eso no significa que vayan a estar precisamente al alcance de la mano, o la boca mejor dicho.
Para ello, el bueno de Winterbottom tendrá la capacidad de autoreplicarse y utilizar sus otros “yos” para conseguir llegar hasta ellas. Por poner un ejemplo, imagina que hay una ristra de tartas en el cielo y un balancín debajo. Lo mejor que podremos hacer es que Winterbottom empiece a saltar en uno de los extremos del balancín y se grabe haciendo eso al apretar un botón. Al soltarlo nuestro “yo” pasado seguirá haciendo esa acción, así que lo único que tendremos que hacer es ir al otro lado y esperar a que nos lance a las alturas para poder hacernos con esas tartas.

Básicamente todo el juego es igual, pero realmente la dificultad irá en aumento, y mucho al final, teniendo que desplegar diferentes series de poderes o habilidades más o menos similares para poder superar una fase o escenario en particular aquí y allá. Al principio todo mola bastante, pero luego es muy probable que acabes con un lío de tres pares de narices. Lo cual no es malo si te molan mucho los puzles de este tipo, pero si no, buff, vas a sudar lo tuyo. O igual lo dejas… durante 13 años. Pero seguirá ahí, que lo sepas, esperándote. “Soy una compra no utilizada.”, “Soy una compra no utilizada.” “Gastaste tu dinero para nada”, susurrará. -.-
Sea como sea, sí tienes que tener claro que, aunque es un juego bastante original y entretenido en un principio, si no disfrutas con puzles excesivamente currados, igual harías bien en pasar de él. Si te gustan los retos, adelante. No es que sea tampoco tan difícil, el problema es que muchas veces necesitarás acertar en el momento justo en qué hacer y cómo hacerlo. Esa es la parte más compleja, y desesperante, de todo.

Como tal, yo diría que The Misadventures of P.H. Winterbottom es un muy buen juego de puzles, con una presentación, unos gráficos y una música bastante original y sorprendente. Su principal problema, si es que puede denominarse así, es que mientras más avanzas más complejo se hará todo y puede que llegues a desesperarte por algunas exigencias que plantean algunas soluciones para sus puzles. Si esto no es un problema para ti, a buen seguro te lo pasarás muy bien.
It was one of the greatest games I've ever played, most of the puzzle games lack a rich storytelling but this game did it the best way possible, I also found out it was a thesis at the University of Southern California. it had marvelous soundtracks with amazing unique art style and puzzle, it really needs you to think out of the box.

I expected a company of myself but its alright
I'm not much of a platforming person and neither am I much of a puzzle one, but this is one of those few platformers I really liked.
I bought this game because I played Braid and really liked it and while the two games aren't exactly the same, they do share some similarities that I seem to really like, like the whole time manipulation thing and banger soundtracks.
In this game you run through different levels collecting pies, you solve the puzzles in various different ways, but most often it is done by cloning yourself and recording replays to activate triggers. It becomes a bit challenging by the end, but it isn't a super hard platformer by any means, which probably also is why I like it.

Mr. P.B. Winterbottom is very fond of tarts, especially blueberry tarts, which is why it seems like his job is to steal tarts. This is the full plot of The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom. Although other strange things also happen, like time travel or Tart's escape from Mr. Winterbottom. This game has a strange story that is told very simply, but not very well. The narrative is very similar to the first films in history in the early 20th century. When black and white movies were accompanied by music and had no sound, and sometimes short sentences were used to gain understanding of the subject. In The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom also has such a simple narrative, with the difference that no story is told during the gameplay, because the gameplay requires the player's full concentration. The gameplay is a combination of puzzle and platforming, which is very well-designed. The only problem is that some stages are very difficult, and the game can be visually boring for some players.

Tengo que agarrar Pies (tartas rellenas) y asi avanzo en el juego, es una aventura típica en 2.5D, tiene buenos graficos, linda música, hermosa estética mezcla cine mudo, dibujos animados de los años 10-20 y 30 y también de los circos de aquella época (mezclado con una atmosfera de tim Burton).
Podes hacer clones tuyos en los cuales apoyarte como escalera o que vayan a hacer una tarea en loop ej. tocar un botón o seguir el camino tuyo y por ej. saltar en una parte de un trampolín e impulsarte a vos para otra.
También podes con las manos lanzar a un clon o que un clon lance a otro o al personaje principal en una trayectoria semi-eliptica (curva)
El personaje puede enlentecer su caída abriendo su paraguas y desplazarse hacia los costados como una suerte de ala delta.
En algunos puzzles mas elevados, tenes tiempo de duración para agarrar todos los Pies y también algunos se agarran solo en determinada secuencia (1 primero, 2 despues, etc.) tanto el original como los clones agarran pies.
Hay Tartas/Pies azules que solo pueden ser tocadas por clones y vos con el personaje principal haces el patrón de caminatas y luego las siguen los clones.
Hay fuego que mata al personaje principal y agua que mata a los clones, hay que saber evitarlos y usando palancas para apagarlos y mover objetos que bloquean el camino.
Hay clones malvados que si los tocas te matan (son rojos), y tenes el uso de portales para permitir que salgan clones de ellos desde esa ubicación (ingenioso).
En otros niveles con el aura de luz podes activar pies y también podes transferírsela a clones
Finalizas cocinando un Pie gigante que explota y deja material de Pie por todos lados para que todos los clones coman incluyéndote vos. Bastante poético y raro pero muy bueno sin dudas, excelente aventura Indie en 2.5D, sin dudas vale su peso en oro! Mi gran critica es que no tiene cromos ni workshop con el que se podrían hacer muchos escenarios muy buenos.

I was happily surprised when I first played The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom. It looks so simple and small but offers a fun puzzle experience overall. From what I understood, this was a little game for a student’s graduate, the irony here is that I think it is a better game than all the triple AAA indie games out there today.
In The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, you play as a cute little man with a mustache who wants to eat pie. The pies are all in hard-to-reach places and you need to figure out how to get to them.
You have the ability to bent time and space and create different clones of yourself. You can record an action and one of your clones will do this action while you can perform a different action. When combining multiple actions and setting up some clones to help you reach a certain platform, everything comes together, and you can reach that delicious pie. If the clones bump into each other, they fall over, and you need to try again.
The principle of the game is simple yet unique and a lot of fun. It is on the same level as puzzle games like Nihilumbra. The puzzles are very challenging and require many tries sometimes. They are all perfectly doable but sometimes, your timing needs to be absolutely perfect, or you will fail.
The graphics and animation in the game are all done in silent film, black and white style. It got a steampunk/renaissance vibe over it; I liked it very much.
In terms of controls, they are spot on. Everything is responsive and the only thing to blame if you fail a level, is yourself.
There is no sound (because of the silent film style) but there is some excellent piano music playing in true 1920’s style. It fits the theme and game very well.
My only complaint about The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is the name, because it is very hard to remember or pronounce, but other than that, I think this is a fantastic little puzzle game to keep you occupied for a few hours.
Definitely would recommend it.

Confesso que inicialmente achei o jogo bem confuso, fui passando de fases sem entender muito bem a proposta do game, e tampouco o que estava acontecendo. Depois de passar algumas fases, essa estranheza toda me fez deixar o game de lado e ele ficou lá, esquecido por muito tempo. Então agora resolvi dar uma nova chance e, ao compreender melhor o game, percebi que trata-se de um jogo muito divertido, e que em alguns momentos vai exigir um pouco mais do seu raciocinio. Recomendo se você gosta de puzzles.

My, I really am digging out from the bottom of aged titles I've possessed for far too long without actually touching for years on end. The amount of dust that settled on this title is something of legend, I assure you.
[i]The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom[/i] is a troublesome case of brilliant atmosphere and agonizing madness. You follow the titular story P.B. Winterbottom, a portly pie thief who somehow breaks the laws of reality all to create a causal loop of time travelling weirdness to steal pies. I'd love to think I just made that up in the same fashion that anime writers stitch absurd concepts together, but let's be honest; I'm clever, but I'm not that clever.
What makes this game delightful is the atmosphere that remains consistent from beginning to end: simple frames of silent film with a simple orchestra and a sarcastic yet silent narrator. Given the grainy film filter that you view the experience through and the clever wit of the writers, it's a wonder why this title never gained the same level of appreciation that games like [i]Cuphead[/i].
Where this game falters is its game play mechanics. P.B. Winterbottom is a [i]precision[/i] platformer. Its puzzles are designed for quick reflexes and skillful reaction times. If you're anything like me, you acknowledge that you'll never be more than a mediocre gamer on your best days and titles like this one aren't built for the average player. Though that isn't necessarily a bad thing. While it stands as a serious test of patience and sanity, it doesn't outstay its welcome either. It's wonderfully short, and perfect for those who want a challenge.

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is one of those little gold nuggets which lie in the corner of the steam attic. It is a plattformer / jump'n'run game which puts you in the shoes of Mr. Winterbottom, an elderly gentleman with a huge appetite for cake. You collect those cakes yourself and via clones who actions and movements you record beforehand.
The puzzles are great fun and make use of every detail of the game's mechanics. Make sure to study them well, or else you will get stuck early on already. The game also introduces new mechanics often so that it does not get boring. The levels are also quite short and concise so that it never feels grindy.
Beware though, this is not your average Saturday night puzzler. Basic skills in jump'n'run, precision, and the ability to work under strict time constrains are part of every level. It never feels unfair though, most of the time there is an elegant solution to the situation.
If this does not scare you, there are also a number of extra-hard bonus levels for you to enjoy.
The art-style and music are another highlight. The game takes inspiration from the early days of cinema, with text-screens which tell the story, funky circus music, black and white colour paletts, and environments from factories and early theaters. The story itself is nothing special, but appropriate, and is told in an old fashioned rhyming manner.
Overall, this is a real gem of the genre, and you should not miss it if you love riddles, puzzles, and all the like.

This game is a solid meh. Since you can pick this game up for almost free on sale, I'll give it a thumbs up.
The mechanics are fun and mildly challenging. No real head-scratchers. I love these types of games, so I'm not sure why I didn't care for it more. There was just something about it that was annoying, and not in a challenging way.
Graphics are awkward and seem very odd at times, almost like the game was made for a web browser. I know this is an old game, but that's not what I mean. They are just strange.

Проходил с фанатской русификацией и мне очень понравились здешние головоломки, механика которых постоянно менялась, а сложность постепенно возрастала.
Помню, что после прославляемого в те времена braid, эта игра зашла мне намного больше. Тут нет философии, зато геймплей отточен до идеала.
Если хочется пошевелить мозгами - однозначно рекомендую.

Очень приятная головоломка. 5 миров по 10 уровней, в каждом появляется новая механика, так что предыдущие не успевают наскучить. Игра в меру сложная, требует от игрока сочитать умение решать головоломки и показывать скорость и точность реализации этих решений. Проходится довольно быстро, за часа 3-4 и оставляет после себя только положительные впечатления!

A lovely, clever little puzzle game that reeks of personality and charm with very solid gameplay. The soundtrack is just magnificent and I truly thing this game is an underappreciated little gem.

If you are into platformer/puzzle games then this is for you. It isn't really my kind of thing but I got a full hours worth of fun out of it anyways. It is probably only worth it if you can get a deal while it's on sale though. The unique mechanics make for some truly difficult puzzles so just keep that in mind

Quite a nice game and a hidden gem all things considered. Fun yet challenging, but not too difficult to the point the puzzles are too mind boggling to solve. You can definitely solve every puzzle in the game if you have the patience. And quite satisfying too once you figure out the solution.
The bonus shorts adds another spin with the challenge to complete the puzzles within a time frame and/or utilizing limited clones and even they are not that bad. Yes, most of the global achievement rate for the bonus shorts are less than 2% but even these are not that bad and I was able to complete them all. It can be abit frustrating at time, but after playing other games with even more frustrating achievements to complete, these become no issue by the end of the day.
More than likely some of these negative reviews stem from their ability to sit still and think through solutions, often wanting immediate answers/gratification
The silent movie aesthetic of the game matches works well and gives a certain sense of immersion.
The ending certainly had a plottwist I did not expect and made the story all the more interesting.
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is an excellent little puzzle game with a really great gimmick and a large variety of mechanics surroundings it's five short but sweet levels. The difficulty is just right and I was never stumped on a puzzle for too short or too long and the general presentation and art style was gorgeous. I really liked this game and unlike Braid it had no levels that were downright bad in quality compared to the rest of the game. This is a short little puzzle platformer that you don't want to miss out on.

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is a very interesting game. The mix of puzzle and platform is very well applied, the game itself is simple (which in this case is not a bad thing) and the balance between these two elements is good and very noticeable. Aesthetically it is very cool, the use of black and white (with few colors), it's aesthetics of old films and good music provide a very pleasant atmosphere for a ludic and fun story like that of Mr. Winterbottom. The mechanics are simple, works well, they are 50 stages + bonus stages, you can have a lot of fun and fry your brain trying to solve the puzzles. Aesthetically the main character is not a masterpiece, but that does not interfere with the game at all.

Fun little puzzle game with time puzzles - reminds me of braid. Wasn't in the mood to stretch my brain in the way but I'll likely come back or let my kids go crazy.
The art and mood of the game is quite good.
I played this for a little while and stopped 4 years ago (lack of proper computer). I'm back in and still love it. I am no expert so I get a kick out of remembering the short keys for each action. I was hoping to start where I left off. System did not save that old game. I'm not disappointed, I got a refresher on the quick keys. I do this as one player (don't think it is for more than that). I love listening to the sound effects and music. It reminds me of the 20's-30's piano music in movies from that era. FYI: I am no spring chicken but, that era was a few years before my mom & dad's time.
I feel this helps with hand/eye coordination and hopefully keeps the brain stimulated. I'd like to get through life without dementia or Alzheimer's.
A pretty nice discovery, this game. It may be considered a little gem. A good puzzle game, with some platforming aspects. Pretty hard, especially because it often requires that you do the right things, and you do them fast. There is some kind of funny story to link the levels, and it's always told in rhyme, like it was a nursery rhyme! And the funny music and the pleasant black and white graphics, together with this, create what is a pleasant experience indeed. Even if it's so hard.
Text is so large it overlaps and goes off screen. I tried many different resolutions and I cannot find a fix.

Bardzo lubię gry logiczne, przeszłam Portal 1&2, The Talos Principle, The Swapper itp. Niestety Misadventures... zupełnie nie przypadła mi do gustu. Na początku, baśniowo-abstrakcyjna konwencja gry prowadzona w wierszowanym angielskim wydawała się nawet zabawna, lecz dość szybko zaczęła być nużąca. Zagadki logiczne, i owszem, były logiczne, jednak gdy musiałam z dokładnością co do ułamków sekund zdążyć z klawiszologią bo inaczej nie zmieszczę się w czasie, to zniechęciło mnie już totalnie. Mam wrażenie, że wyzwania w szybkości obsługi klawiatury dominują tutaj nad wyzwaniami logicznymi. Poza tym, jeden z głównych pomysłów w mechanice gry polegający na trykaniu klona laską aby ten podskakiwał wydał mi się trywialny, tak jak cała fabuła, w której facet ugania się za ciastkami.
Zagadki dotyczące manipulowania czasem też nie dorastają do takich gier jak np. Project Temporality.

А всё равно почему-то заурядный продукт вышел. Чесслово, пройдёшь мимо - ничего не потеряешь. Как-то давно его прошёл целиком, а сейчас даже вспомнить не смог суть происходящего...

Fantastic little game with such an entertaining story and great puzzle mechanics. Some of the clone challenge counts are a bit hard but the main story is utterly brilliant!

I'm the worst when it comes to puzzle games. But i like them too.
Some puzzles are extremely difficult for me and exhausting to the point that I simply can't be motivated to continue playing.
Lack of story implementation here makes it hard for me to keep going also. (i know it's a fun puzzle game and story is not the main focus here.)
Play it if you wanna torture yourself :)

Se for comprado na promoção é um bom jogo de puzzle. Muito rápido. Jogo criativo.
The good:
- Nice mechanics, which increase in difficulty at a nice pace. Each new mechanic is introduced with a relatively simple puzzle, with following ones getting slowly more difficult. The only problem I ran into was that the portal-recording mechanic could have included a hint that the recording only plays [i]while you are recording[/i]. So you always need an extra clone.
- The poetic storytelling was nice, without being obtrusive.
- Long enough to be challenging, short enough to finish
The bad:
- Game is buggy. It often crashes during loading screen.
- [b]TWO[/b] un-skippable pages of copyright boilerplate, in way too many languages. After the first time, I knew this game was copyrighted, allow me to click through them, please. This was made worse by the consistent crashes, meaning I had to sit through a minute of copyright text each time I completed a level. Didn't make me like '2K' as a software company, I can tell you.
- Another design feature that wouldn't be a problem without the consistent crashes is the fact that the level-select screen is navigated as if it's the game itself. This takes much longer than a simple menu, and gets annoying if you have to do it for every level.

This is a quite simplistic puzzle game with interesting mechanics.
If you like those kind of games, I'd even say it's worth the full price - (Sweet little game for sweet little price (= )
You'll get to it rather quickly, the learning curve is pretty quick.
Story isn't too serious (and it shouldn't be), it's quite fun and told through some short reading phases, wriiten as short poems, which is cool. The whole black&white theme fits the game well, and the atmosphere is quite good as well.
So, the whole artistic aspect is top notch for this kind of games, And also technically it's quite alright - gameplay is cool and the mechanics work great (e.g. I didn't find any puzzles which were too difficult because of technical glitches\bugs\the way the character moves, etc which happens a lot in low-budget puzzle games)
This game gets quite challanging, though, and at some point it gets pretty hard and you must be pretty precise and it all becomes about timing everything correctly.
Personally, and unfortunately, I got impatient and quit. But that's just me, not the game.
If you like this kind of stuff - definitely worth a shot.

OK for whats going on, everyone went on about the game's points.
I eventually puzzled through, which i had expected but Why the ridiculous insistence on less than a quadrillionth of a second timing.(after like 20 minutes on one little adjustment i checked the walkthrough and I had it save the stupid time thing whIch is just a lazy DEV)and i Had to rage quit.
Lost the fun. So why bother.
Got it for next to nothing.
Got what i paid for.
Toodles...it ain't like there ain't lotsa other games to focus in and spend money at.

-La historia en cierto modo es entretenida, aunque no es prescindible para jugarlo
-Soy músico y puedo decir que la música en este videojuego es excelente

С виду простенькая логическая игра про перемотку времени и клонов, которая довольно быстро становится сложной. В свое время Winterbottom - чьи разработчики, судя по всему, вдохновлялись Braid от Джонатана Блоу - не снискала особой популярности у широкой аудитории и сегодня ее можно назвать "забытой", что не умаляет ее достоинств - оригинальных игровых механик и необычного арт-дизайна. С другой стороны, из-за местами монотонного геймплея и фрустрирующих задачек, в которых скорость реакции оказывается так же важна, как умение простроить план действий, вытерпеть ее до конца смогут не все. Рекомендуется любителям логических игр со стажем и крепкими нервами (но, на всякий случай, лучше по скидке).

TLDR: Reliance on leverpulling and switches activation for progression. Otherwise bland level design. Nonsensical plot. Protag swap is annoying. KBM instructions for gamepad.
Winterbottom is a series of short, generally one level screen puzzles that involve reaching pies in a mobile like fashion to 5 star a level kind of thing. There is no stars system, its just ... get the thing and win and go to next level.
The music is laid on top of the game, it's decent music but it feels overlaid, it doesnt really flow with the action of the game and feels like a mute game with youtube playing in the background. The faux-film grain, back and white aesthetics, okay animation work come together to give this sort of a "cuphead" cinematic feel, but cheaper, more shoddily put together with clashing. Such as the music, you have a 3D character, that's kind of low quality, the film grain feels very fake and the hotspot interactables often also feel overlaid cheaply on top of the static backgrounds, noticeably so.
The core puzzle gameplay is very bland and uninventive, up until the point where the "record your actions and replay them" feature is included. Its like playing co-op with yourself. But very unintuitive and prone to trial and error as you cannot rewind braid style and are just forced a slow fade-out game over before being allowed to retry.
What really kinda kills the title for me however is that it just does not have a lot of character, the story is near non existent, the idea of chasing pies is unattractive, and the mechanics dont blend into the game with any sense of purpose and just seems to be there because "gameplay.
Ultimately I have enough platformers to last me, and a low quality puzzle platformer just is not worth holding on to for me any longer.
Note: If you are puzzle heavy and dont mind building muscle memory and getting used to the features the game does 4k fullscreen correctly, presents half decently and has Xbox360 support. It's also fairly cheap. I still dont recommend that you do.

This is an extremely frustrating puzzle game. Buy it if you hate yourself. I do hate myself, so I'll give it the thumbs up.
The controls and interface have not aged well at all, and this only adds to the frustration. Likewise for whatever "charm" the game may have had upon release. I don't care about pies, and PB Winterbottom seems like a creepy tool.
Loved this game when I first played it years ago. Now I've suddenly got a craving to play it again -- so it's definitely fun and memorable.

I bought this game remembering only that it's a puzzle game, and completed it 100% in 5 hours.
It's one of those time manipulation puzzles where you record yourself and interact with the playback to achieve the impossible. Unlike most "record-replay" time manipulation puzzles, though, this one builds on top of the mechanic with more mechanics to keep it interesting. All in all, it's not that difficult to figure out, but some of the solutions can be a real ♥♥♥♥♥ to execute, which... is not exactly how a puzzle game is supposed to go. The difficulty's supposed to be in the theory crafting, not in the execution.
Aside from that, can I talk about the OST? The OST isn't something I would go out of my way to listen to, but it is brilliant nonetheless. It takes a lot of classical piano/orchestral music, but renders it in a ragtime style, sometimes even shifting major keys to minor keys for a sinister flavor. The Can Can rendition is absolutely incredible and comes across as something you would hear in one of those dramatic silent films where the villain ties the girl up on a train track and twirls his luxurious moustache while monologuing to the hero one title card at a time.
good game, my lil brother watched me beat it and that's all i have to say about that
