I've never been more excited for the remaster of a game. I played the free version of The Basement for the first time on Mr. Skutnik's website almost 10 years ago, and it honestly made me fall in love with the point-and-click genre as a whole. The art is full of life and personality, and being able to see it in such high resolution for the first time in my life was a dream come true. The overarching story, sound design, and music are also amazing-- Submachine was clearly made with a good deal of love, and it shows in every corner of the game.

The puzzles are, in my opinion, a perfect balance of charm, logic, and difficulty. I took notes on paper during my playthrough to keep track of locations and certain puzzle elements, but that is an aspect of puzzle games I thoroughly enjoy, and it may not be a necessary step for all. A relatively minor complaint I had with the original series was that some puzzles were far less intuitive than others, and while the nostalgia factor may be missing in Submachine: Legacy, it is certainly for the best that we no longer have to complete circuits with pieces of cutlery.

Overall, I recommend this game highly to anyone who loves point-and-clicks and puzzles. Even if you end up not loving it, it's absolutely worth a try.

Es un juego de point and click más complicado que la mayoría. Hay que encontrar y encajar las piezas que abren portales que te trasladan a otra dimensión. En ocasiones se encuentran claves por el periplo, que conviene anotar, porque en algunos casos necesitas hacer algún cálculo numérico o hacer coincidir símbolos. Como es lógico, cada nivel es más complicado que el anterior, y en ocasiones te sumerges en un laberinto del que es complicado salir. En resumen, es un rompecabezas muy bueno con unas ilustraciones magníficas y unos escenarios siniestros y misteriosos que lo hacen adictivo.

A great updated collection of one of THE Point-and-Click games from back during the Flash Game days. I remembered playing the first couple back when on the School's computer lab, still holds up pretty well. Classic point-and-click puzzle solving and mysterious atmosphere, as well as new hidden things to go back and find to complete the new bits added. I did get stuck on some of the later levels, idk if I was blind or if it was possible to soft-lock yourself by using a vial/light orb somewhere too early but I got through it. Only thing that pissed me off was having to redo 6 over multiple times because its the only one where you can lock yourself out of getting all the secrets. Excited to learn of the new continuation/spin-off? in the works in the ending Creator's note.

Incredible. Mateusz Skutnik has gathered all the Sbumachine games and has gathered them in a cohesive narrative with a surprising amount of connective tissue. This is a bundle of blissful nostalgia. I can't wait for the next games to come!
