Storyline

i like the concept but i guess the devs don't care about player feedback many things are still broken leaving a majority of players unable to beat the game. things that were reported during betas but were never fixed. So that being said don't buy this until a massive bug fix update comes out but that doesn't seem like it will happen.

I played this game when it was still new and had no issues with it. but now every 30 minutes of gameplay my game crashes and says "fatal error" i have tried everything I can think of and looked online for help but nothing. I can't recommend this game until they fix the stability issues.

Как для раннего доступа отлично, по уровню исполнения на сейчас это второй проект из раннего доступа после ''No rest for the wicked'' который можно рекомендовать людям, брал и советую в комплекте Ларкрафта так как можно получить ещё 2 игры разных жанров, есть шороховатости в оптимизации и недоделаность в некоторых аспектах но сам проект пока напоминает мне гибрид ''Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth'' и ''Resident Evil Village'' что очень и очень неплохо играется но тут как и сказал обратно нужно учитывать нахождение в раннем доступе игры.

Can’t recommend it, at least in its current state.

I played on HARD and had a terrible experience. It wasn’t fun and it didn’t feel challenging, it was just frustrating. I also tried other difficulties and ended up with the same feeling, so this review isn’t tied specifically to HARD.

The good:

- Voice acting was really nice, I enjoyed it :)
- The atmosphere was on point. Exactly what I expected, maybe even a bit more
- Graphically stunning

The bad:

- Stamina regenerates incredibly slowly. Two or three swings and you’re completely out of stamina and defenseless, you can’t even block. Enemies kill you in two or three hits, so the only way to survive is trying to perfectly time attacks and stunlock them. If you fail, you’re dead. Fighting more than one enemy at the same time feels almost impossible.
- Combat is really bad, at least on this difficulty. It’s not even about how challenging it is, it’s simply not fun. Stamina should regenerate faster and enemies shouldn’t be so relentlessly aggressive. They keep attacking nonstop and you can’t respond because you run out of stamina almost immediately.
- Resources are extremely scarce and character progression feels painfully slow. After 4–5 hours of gameplay I only reached Speech 4, Lockpicking 1, and Occult 2 or 3. Maybe I’m missing something, but it was frustrating constantly finding locked chests or totems I couldn’t interact with. I kept picking skills related to speech when getting new cards, but it took forever to find the golden skulls.
- Performance is rough and definitely needs work.
- Many times it felt like I completed objectives purely by luck. It often wasn’t clear what was happening or what I was supposed to do. I’m not asking for “yellow paint” everywhere, but a more detailed journal would help a lot.
- Maybe I missed it, but is there a shortcut to quickly store items in the storage chest? Managing inventory there felt unnecessarily annoying.
- The worst part is the sanity system. It’s incredibly frustrating. I died many times because my sanity was draining and I didn’t even realize it. The enemies that drain sanity need better balance, and the screen effect when sanity is low should be removed or at least made optional in the settings. On HARD I was almost constantly low on sanity or health, so the screen was heavily blurred almost all the time and it became extremely annoying.

TL;DR: I’m really looking forward to the full release and will probably play it on launch day because I’m a big fan of the Lovecraft/Cthulhu setting. I just hope some of these issues (I personally considered them issues, most probably other players don't even care about what I mention in this review, but I wanted to be as honest as possible) get addressed before then.

It needs performance updates. The game glitches and stutters constantly to the point where it’s not fun to play. Once that improves then this game is an easy recommend.

добротная интересная игра. по локациям ,..ходить по кайфу ,сюжет присутстствует. отптимизацию отрехтуют .ваще будет отлично .так что ждем. рекомендую.

I have made my way through the early access game as of 25-02-2026. Here are my thoughts

Graphics: The game runs well and is nicely optimized, I saw no slowdowns during my playthrough and it loads quickly enough. There are certain times when the fog seems to clip through the walls and sometimes the lights clip on and off when viewing them at certain distances.

Environment: The town of Kingsport is well done. Its layout is interesting and the shortcuts you unlock are satisfying. There is enough to explore and it feels good to climb certain locations and discovering secrets feels good.

Puzzles: Simple enough, not too frustrating.

Characters: Interesting. Good amount of dialogue that reveal little bits of the story. I am intrigued to see where they go in the full release. Though currently my interest can only go so far with the majority of them not having any voice acting. The current voice acting direction is a bit mediocre, maybe another pass would make them shine. The dismal man does not look like what I think he should look but thats okay.

Gameplay: Probably the weaker part of the game currently. Actions are sometime slow or unresponsive. You could be mashing a key and nothing happens. I took the heavy attack perk and I could not get it to work no matter which weapon I used or how long I held the attack key. Blocking is too slow/does not activate when you need it so the best way to block attacks is to back away from an enemy. The sneak attack perk worked well in the beginning of the game but stopped working halfway through for some reason.

Gunplay: All the guns are good and fun to use, instead of using the best one you get to pick the one that fits your playstyle which I can appreciate.

Enemies: Currently a bit weak. Hounds are too annoying and stiff to fight, I either did my best to sneak up on all of them or had a gun to fight them. Hags were okay, they could use some work though, making them faster would make them more threatening. The crawling ghouls felt like filler, tough to kill and they dont look threatening. Witch boss fight was weak, the room is too big and that makes the ranged attack frustrating. Dimensional shambler(?) in the maze is too passive, he needs to travel the maze or be able to reach into hiding spots.

Quests: I missed a majority of them but the ones I did do were interesting. I got stuck with a bunch of items that I could not get rid of them. It started to clog my item box. They need a way to sacrifice quest items for a price or something.

Horror aspect: Needs work, game is not as eerie as it should be. The game is too well lit and needs to be darkened quite a bit. Pulling out a light source causes anything thats not in the light radius to get darker for some reason. A combination of heavier fog and darkness would really help.

Sanity: Weak, getting whispering in the ears and a blurry filter feels annoying and unearned. Having a couple of effects from Eternal Darkness would really spice it up(statues that stare at you, bleeding walls, fake enemies, etc...)

I had some glitches, the most annoying one being a quest item not spawning so I could not get the upgraded revolver which hurt a bit.

There is good in this game, im hoping the rough parts get ironed out. Having the game be a prequel to Stygian Reign of the Old Ones is a weird choice but as long as its not an ill omen to the game never getting finished il be fine with it.
