Conoci este juego por primera vez en 2016 y tan solo con lo que puder ver en ese entonces me encanto. Un tiempo despues cuando finalmente pude jugarlo, me enamore de este juego, me parece una joya en su totalidad, me encantan los personajes, sus disenos, personalidades y la historia es muy buena. J'ai regardé un let's play de ce jeu il y a 9 ans, autant dire que j'en avais oublié beaucoup de détails, notamment sa fin.
Etant donné qu'il est sorti il y a plus de 10ans je ne sais pas si beaucoup de personnes l'ont acheté pendant les dernières années, mais au cas où vous découvriez totalement ce jeu, je recommanderais de se fier surtout aux images de ce jeu plutôt qu'aux parties animées du trailer, qui ont été ajoutées pour en faire la promotion.

Personnellement, le style graphique m'a beaucoup attiré à l'époque et c'est toujours le cas aujourd'hui. Le design des personnages et leurs caractéristiques sont assez attrayants si on apprécie les esthétiques de l'étrange (particulièrement les designs de bébés que je trouve troublants).
Du côté de l'histoire, en l'ayant oublié, j'ai eu un changement de théorie pendant le jeu qui révèle de manière plutôt fluide selon moi des informations sur notre personnage principal et sur les créatures qui l'entourent à travers des dialogues et d'éléments visuels. Certains personnages restent assez peu détaillés, mais il faut garder en tête que le jeu est plutôt court et centré sur l'histoire de notre personnage.
La majorité des énigmes sont simples et plutôt intuitives, même si j'ai aussi rencontré des difficultés dans la dernière partie du jeu comme d'autres joueurs, qui peut être un peu longue et répétitive tout en étant floue.

“In order to design good horror, first make sure that you, yourself, are not a coward”. These are the words that echoed in my mind when I sat down and asked myself what I think of Stray Cat Crossing.

And honestly, kudos to my brain [strike]despite the dramatics[/strike], because that pretty much sums up how I see this game rather perfectly. On multiple occasions, the game sets up something (a scene, a trope, a theme, build-up), and absolutely flirts HARD with the dark, the twisted, the macabre, the tragic, and as soon as it is actually seduced, and JUST as its about to slyly walk in, panting, smiling and unblinking, the game blushes, yelps, and slams the door on its face like a bashful maiden who bit more than she can chew.

This game is like a sadist in a BDSM relationship, who doesn’t have the heart to actually prolong the torture, despite the sub willing and practically begging for it. The kind that thinks they went too far, 15 minutes into foreplay. There is this sickening compulsion, I feel, to quickly resolve any tension build-up, almost like the devs themselves got too scared with what they wrote mid-developing. Worse yet, without delving into spoilers, there are even sections that get a wholesome resolution, and no, not as a surprisingly bittersweet moment in what is otherwise a gloomy atmosphere, dark-souls style. No, it seems that this is the game’s modus operendi; the moments that don’t get a wholesome resolution, is because the dev couldn’t fit it into the timeslot.

Don’t get me wrong, review-reader-who’s-about-to-call-me-an-edgelord: I completely and utterly understand that not all horror games need to be twisted and dark; I practically made a career of absolutely tearing a new one into devs who go too edgy with their horror games for its own sake. If anything, I’m saying this game is trying to go too Tumblr-creepy with its aesthetics and motifs, for its own sake. And that’s the keyword here: “for its own sake”. When you don’t let things cook, when you resolve them too quickly, when you don’t see a tragedy all the way to its wrenching end, then you started it over nothing. You started it “for the vibes”.

And speaking of vibes, I know that you’re interested in this game for its art style, just like I was. First of all, the art doesn’t particularly get better? What you see in the screenshots is, more or less, what you’ll get. And secondly, while I will not accuse someone of plagiarism without proof (because it genuinely goes against my ethics), so I won’t say it’s intentional, BUT AM I THE ONLY ONE NOTICING THAT THE TRAILER SONG IS LITERALLY KINGDOM HEARTS’ “MY SANCTUARY”? If it is not intentional (and I will not assume so without proof), then at the very least, it disappointingly shows where the devs picked up their vibes-centric design philosophy inspiration.

On a side note, this review was genuinely painful to write. I hate tearing THIS hard into a small studio. I don’t feel bad if it’s a bigger studio, even if indie. It’s a bunch of kids (regardless of age, and not derogatory) who want to have fun and design a game. But as much as it pains me to tear into them like that, I have to be honest. If my review did not dissuade you from buying the game, and you still find yourself curious, then by all means, don’t let me stop you. If you have love for them, don’t hold it back.

Пациент же, ничего не замечая побежал за ней, наивно полагая, что она всё же подойдёт, и не заметил, как стал перебегать въездную дорогу около ворот лечебницы, когда на территорию въезжала медицинская машина. Благо, водитель успел затормозить а пациент, не обратив внимания, побежал дальше за кошкой, но был остановлен охраной у выхода.

I have so much nostalgia for this game since watching YouTube let's play videos of it in middle school. I'm 27 years old now and was just hit with a bit of sadness that I couldn't really remember the full story of Stray Cat Crossing. So I decided to play it for myself. What an incredible game to experience with fresh eyes. The art is absolutely stunning, the characters are so unique, and the story hurts my heart every time. Forever one of my favorite games for so many reasons.

Pushing past the tones of twisted horror, this game paints a picture of grief, understanding, and acceptance. Despite a multitude of bizarre creatures, none are more frightening than the consistent sense of loss, guilt, and warring naivety through the eyes of young child.

The full game doesn’t take long to complete, but the puzzles can be challenging at times. The art, in particular, I found very unique. Reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, you find yourself becoming not only familiar, but appreciative of the oddities within the world. As the horror melts away, the truth is left to find. It may be a long journey toward forgiveness, but it’s a road we all have to cross eventually.

Great little game that’ll leave a mark on you. It’s freaky, but it’s not quite a horror. Think more Alice in Wonderland. It has a great story, wonderfully pretty but grotesque visuals and it’s just fun to play. Plays nice on Steam Deck too, I made a controller setup for it.

One of the best horror rpg maker games of all time. The atmospheric artstyle, story, and ost are amazing. Clearly inspired by silent hill, the monster designs are each a well designed reflection of her trauma. Even the ending, still to this day makes me cry. I wish the dev made another game, because they absolutely understand what they're doing.

In my search for hidden gem RPG Maker games, finding something truly meaningful and special like this game is a rarity. When I started playing, I was immediately charmed by the art style and the wonderfully twisted aesthetic. As I kept playing, the game kept surprising me with how creative it could be. And then, that magical moment occurs where it all begins to come together, and things start falling into place. It crafts one of the most meaningful and emotional experiences that could come from an RPG Maker game. It does get repetitive in the third act, but that might be the only complaint I have with this beautiful work of art of an experience. Games like this are what RPG Maker is to me: Beautiful pieces of art that can only exist because of an engine that makes it easy for those with a vision to get their ideas out there. If you love short stories, and especially if you love RPG Maker horror, play this game immediately. You'll fall in love.

watched pewds play this years ago, finally got to play it myself... lovely gameplay and story! the artwork is beautiful and the pacing is just right. being able to figure out the puzzles on my own was challenging but a load of fun, and if you're somebody who doesn't have the most experience with puzzle games then this is also perfect practice. it also gave me an excuse to stop procrastinating and buy a new keyboard, as my up arrowkey was broken and you're unable to use wasd in this game.
overall, i'm super happy to have finally played and completed the game myself! it's totally worth the cost, and it feels like a game i'll definitely replay much more in the future to check out all of the things i didn't notice in my first playthrough. <3

[h1]I really enjoy playing this game time after time I find it really enjoyable.[/h1] I haven't played this game in a long time. And decided i'd get threw it without using a walkthrew guide. So when it came to the maze I had to sit there and think for a moment to ponder on the thought of the answer to the riddle. Fun game, it jump scared me and also made me cry this past play threw. This will be my second time playing the game all the way through. The ending is taking a while so I plan on completing the game tomorrow which is today! I hope its a good ending since I don't remember everything.

This game can take as long as you like but id say 4 hours of gameplay 6 hours if u get lost or cant get past a level.

I feel this should be used as the perfect example of (relatively) modern RPGMaker Horror games. It’s wonderful, I feel it is worth experiencing for the art alone, which is colorful, vibrant, and rightfully creepy when it needs to be. But it’s all further tied together by a wonderful soundtrack and story, and game play that ties in well with those elements in question.

Nunca havia jogado Stray Cat Crossing, mas já tinha ouvido falar pelo canal do Alanzoka e em blogs de RPG Maker. Confesso que o visual do game sempre me chamou muita atenção e atiçou minha curiosidade. Depois de jogar, posso dizer que a história é, apesar de simples, emocionante e interessante. Os puzzles são legais, mas aquele último da peça me cansou um pouco (apesar de compreender a importância dele pra explicação da história). Recomendo!

雰囲気と世界観がとても素敵。
ホラー区分だけれど、正確には奇妙な世界での謎解きピクセルゲーム。
スクリーンショットなどで好きかもと感じたら、それは正解だと思う。
ストーリーも良かった。

英語については、ストーリーをざっと追う分だけなら問題なし。
自力で謎解きとなると、英語苦手な人にはちょっとツライ。

this game is absolutely awesome, i enjoy the graphics and story very much. The garden was my favorite area, but the last one was a bit frustrating, but i'm sure that's the point haha. anyways you really gotta be dedicated to figure out that last part. not exactly a complaint though, my only would be this game is not long enough! When i finished i found myself saying "that's it?" i enjoyed it but was personally not satisfied with game length BUT these games take a long period of time to make, it has its own characters, music, and story i haven't seen anywhere else. highly recommend if you want something short n sweet (not exactly sweet but maybe for some).

Fun Horror game. depressing but love the character designs in it. My favorite of course being the blind kid with a camera.

Rpgmaker isn't one of my favorite types. as I really hate how easily they are pumped out and look so similar,

So back in the day when I first played this. I was really taken with the sprites and the art. I'd recommend for that alone. but it also has character to the story.

So many of these rpgmaker titles have the most generic horror stories. it's the ones with unique sprites that really stand out. and this is one of them.

A short but gorgeous RPGMaker horror game. It's the most visually stunning example of the genre that I've played. There are a couple gameplay segments that get frustrating, but they don't last long and it's worth sticking it out for the wild, imaginative horror wonderland that is this game.

Когда я давным-давно купила эту игру, то из-за визуала уверилась, что история будет в джазовых тонах - нет, ну вы видели эти костюмчики и пиксели? Правда, оказалось все совсем иначе.
Сначала игра завлекает таинственной атмосферой, которая до кучи немножко жуткая, а потом - различными вбросами, из-за которых ты всерьез задумываешься, что не так с девочкой, которую ты просто хотела довести до дома, чтоб по дороге ее никто не съел, ночь на дворе, в конце концов.
Загадки решабельные и не слишком простые, интересные даже! А история, которую хотела рассказать игра, очень, очень грустная и болезненная, всплакнуть совсем не сложно. Атмосфера напряжненькая, страшненькая, как будто играете в черновик Омори. В любом случае, пройти эту игру будет хорошим решением, в результате что-то для себя, так вынесете, а еще равнодушным точно не останетесь.
7 сезонов из 10, потому что акт с пьесой чуть не свел меня с ума, но концовка, тронувшая до слез, того стоила.

I just finished this game after sitting on it for a while, and wanted to write a review since it's relatively indi and should get some more attention. The game is relatively short (around 2 hours just like it advertises) but for what I paid for it that is in no way unexpected or a bad thing. This is a game for people who loved the old days of Kongregate and the like where you could sit down to a pixel graphic, deep, narrative and enjoy yourself without needing amazing cutscenes or action gameplay. The few puzzles there are are relatively simple but it's really about the story in the end and I feel that it's told and presented uniquely and well. Out of everything, I'd say my largest complaint is that the creators never made an extended version of the awesome song they used in the trailer or even put it in the game.

Don't go into this expecting a horror game, don't go into this expecting a dramatic epic poem. Go into this expecting Alice in Wonderland if it was just a BIT darker. If i had to have a real downside I have to admit the ending is a bit of a downer which I never really feel good about (I'm a sucker for happy endings) but that little twinge just makes it more memorable I suppose. Solid game.

Hm...I'm conflicted on this one. Aesthetic wise, this game is absolutely stunning with so many things for weirdcore horror fans to fall in love with. Whacky and zany characters whose appearances actively effect how they interact with the world for some good body horror or charming quirks, locations bursting with symbolic imagery that are twisted and shifted as the game goes on, the music is so good I wish they sold an OST, and a meaningful message placed beneath the surface of said weirdness. On paper, it sounds right up my alley, yet the execution is questionable, particularly in the writing department.

[i]Stray Cat Crossing[/i] tries to tell a simple story, yet, ends up bungling it so much throughout with random imagery, unnecessary sequences, and confusing gameplay elements that, by the end, I couldn't really tell you what the point was at all, besides some theories. The game separates itself so harshly in terms of gameplay and story that any connection to the two is extremely shallow. The designs of character have so many tiny details that make no sense and muddle any symbolic imagery that was meant to be made with them. There's bits upon completion that made me think "yeah I can see that", always followed by a "wait, what?". Most of the connections were as simple as just "this weird thing is named after some important character, and put next to another important character" without any exploration of the more in depth reason for this in the character's mind. The script feels like a draft as there are several unimportant characters that are just there...story wise. Game wise, you need to do things for them in the form of puzzles, which wouldn't be a bad idea if any of them held any significance.

One second I am seeing something horrific, the next I am being told do so some menial chore that rarely made me face anything I was that discomforted by. The story and gameplay constantly bickered with the latter claiming these tasks were important to the characters, and the former showing they rarely made any sense. The game ends up feeling like a dream where, every time it gets really good and you're actually making progress, the dream suddenly shifts in a bizarre and random way that completely negates everything before it, giving me whiplash. And honestly, I could go to bat for that if it didn't impede on the story's buildup for me. Letting the main character be more reactive instead of sorely focused on her scarf despite everything she sees might have made the ups and downs feel more like an emotional journey than it currently does. I will admit [spoiler]I found the ending very emotional, able to feel the character's guilt with that final scene punching me right in the gut.[/spoiler] But the main character was so emotionless up until that point this section felt like its own short story rather than connecting to the overall game, which, in contrast, didn't really evoke as much feeling or intrigue from me as I had hoped it would. And even then this section was a confusing mess.

The conclusion is effectively [spoiler]"your mother told you terrible stories and never hid the fact that she didn't want you. Your father was so emotionally distant you were forced to call him by his first name only" yet also, "but they went looking for you and loved you, don't be sad!"[/spoiler] And I want to believe this was intentional, that this contradiction [spoiler]and her not knowing the photographer's name shows she is still in denial about everything that happened to her. That those affirmations showed her going back into her cycle because she just couldn't take the memory, and showing the car crash with sinister music reveals this wasn't the good ending we thought it was.[/spoiler] Yet, nothing here gives me faith it wasn't just an accidental oversight on the part of the writers not knowing how to deliver a proper twist or write an unreliable narrator. To be clear, its fine if it's not that, they can tell whatever story they want. I just wish I was more clued in as a player with the very limited things I could do to actively "seek out" this lore.

The fact of the matter is, this game [b]demands[/b] you interact with its story, and, yet, shudders at the idea of you ever touching it at all. There is no way to play this game without figuring out the "answers", you will not progress unless you take the questionable actions required of you to get the next bit of story. Which isn't bad on its own, I love games with multiple endings, but I will always have a big soft spot for linear experiences as well, so long as the creators are aware of this and use it to their benefit. A wild ride that forces you to do or see terrible things to torment the player can be outright terrifying, and help put the audience into the character's shoes, who often feel completely trapped.

This title never acted "aware" to me, because, again, almost everything it made me interact with never added to the characters who were supposed to be at the forefront. Little hints were dropped here and there through the environment, only for the player to return to a quest giver completely devoid of this depth. And yet, I as the player am not doing these things because I am curious nor because it gives me an opportunity to see more, but because the characters, for whatever reason, will not budge until I do this small or random task. The gameplay consists of, "hey I know you're going through an emotional crisis I'm a part of, but, could you get me some popcorn?". And, again, that could work, it really could, creating a surrealist and unforgiving world that showcases how the main character feels about herself. But its not that the characters are purposefully not acknowledging it, they're just not acknowledging [i]anything[/i], except what leads me to the next area or puzzle. If a game has multiple endings and I want to know more about the story, its on me as a player to seek out that lore and be proactive inside the game's universe. But, when a game is this linear and, on top of that, treats its story as unimportant while pushing tedious to accomplish puzzles up until the end, there's no reason for me as a player to care. This is a horror game with a deep story, and that should have taken precedent.

So, all in all, I just found this title to be pretty disappointing. The main story and artistic style are very good in concept, but they weren't made to tie into each other enough and, as is, feel like completely separate entities. The game is so short it can't do what it wants to do effectively. For those hoping for a deep, and entertaining weirdcore experience, I wouldn't really recommend this one. That being said, it's only $3, so if it does look even mildly interesting, you may enjoy the randomness more than I did.

I played this game when it first came out, which was in 2015 and forgot how much I liked it. It's a pretty short game but the story and characters are beautiful. Some of the things that you have to do in the game can be pretty annoying, so word of the wise.. pay attention to every detail. I wish I could've seen more indie games from this developer.
