Strata is a wonderfully zen puzzle game that nails its minimalist aesthetic — the way each ribbon placement triggers a piano note, building toward a little melody as you complete a puzzle, is genuinely charming and keeps you coming back for one more. The core mechanic of layering colored ribbons so the topmost color matches each square is simple to grasp but satisfying to execute, especially as grids scale from 3x3 up to 6x6 with more colors in play. I will say that once you internalize the solving pattern, the challenge flattens out considerably and the 485+ puzzles start to feel more like meditative repetition than brain-burning puzzles — but honestly, that's not always a bad thing. If you're looking for a chill, beautiful game to decompress with rather than something to stump you, Strata absolutely delivers.

Achtung: das ist eine vorläufige Review; ich bin etwa zu 3/4 durch das Spiel durch (präzise gesagt sind es "fünfeinhalb Siebtel" ^^).

Warum die Überschrift? Weil Strata zu den Spielen gehört, die leider immer noch keine Alterseinstufung bekommen haben und deswegen nach einem neuen deutschen Jugendschutzgesetzt ab dem 15. November 2024 aus dem deutschen Shop verschwinden (müssen).
-> Vermutlich kann auch ich dann auf diese Rezension gar nicht mehr zugreifen. Falls es Fragen gibt, schreibt mich bitte besser direkt auf meinem Profil an.

Vorsicht: eine Superempfehlung ist das hier trotzdem nicht (s. Fazit).

Strata ist einer dieser kleinen ästhetischen Puzzler, der in dem Fall gar nicht so schnell vorbei ist.
Von der Optik kann sich jeder selbst überzeugen.

[h1]Spielprinzip[/h1]

In Strata müssen bunte Bänder übereinandergelegt und eine Vorgabe erfüllt werden. Man befindet sich auf einem rautenförmigen Feld der Größe 3x3 und mehr (später bis zu 6x6).
Die Bänder werden in zwei Schichten übereinander gekreuzt. Die untere Schicht ist dabei tatsächlich irrelevant, mit der oberen wird dann die Farbe festgelegt.
Beispiel: ich muss das Zielfeld rot färben. Als erstes wähle ich ein beliebiges Band und obendrüber kommt rot. Die Zielfarbe rot ist damit erfüllt.

[h1]Gameplay[/h1]

Man legt nun also nach und nach diese Bänder übereinander, bis die gesamte Raute ausgefüllt ist. Hat man sich vertan oder kommt an einer Stelle nicht weiter, kann man jedes einzelne Band zurücknehmen oder das gesamte Puzzle resetten. Das Zurücknehmen einzelner Züge ist natürlich übersichtlicher und man kann sich besser an einen Fehler rantasten, aber dann bekommt man die ein oder andere “perfekte“ Errungenschaft nicht.
Außerdem gibt es eine Tippfunktion, die entweder einen Hinweis auf die zu wählenden Farben oder auf bestimmte Züge gibt. Das Ganze jeweils in zwei Stufen. Das finde ich eine sehr gute Idee!

Strata besteht aus insgesamt 7 Hubs, jedes davon wiederum aus 4 Levelbereichen. Die Levelbereiche beinhalten unterschiedlich viele Levels, je nach Größe 9, 16, 25 oder gar 36. Man kann sich ausrechnen, dass da eine ganze Menge zusammenkommt - ich komme auf 480!

[h1]Wissenswertes & Kritik[/h1]

Wie verläuft Strata? Gibt es Tutorials? Wie ist der Spielverlauf über die Zeit und steigert sich das Spiel?
Die Antworten sind... eher unbefriedigend.

Zuerst: Strata hat kein Tutorial, weder aktiv noch passiv. Soll heißen so richtig habe ich nicht erkannt, dass das Spiel mir Basistaktiken beibringen würde. Und ich habe selbst auch keine endgültig hilfreiche rausgefunden. Habe verschiedene probiert, z.B. bestimmte Startpositionen, unterrepräsentierte Farben zuerst eliminieren,...
Keine Strategie war so wirklich wasserdicht, also habe ich es immer zur Hälfte nach Gefühl gelöst und zumindest mit dem Plan, parallele Anordnungen zu finden. Das hat zumindest recht zuverlässig geklappt.
Mein Bauchgefühl sagt mir, dass es etwa zur Hälfte darauf ankommt, wo man startet und welche Reihenfolge man einhält. Es gibt natürlich genug Startbereiche, bei denen man von Beginn an zum Scheitern verurteilt ist. Umgekehrt habe ich aber auch das Gefühl, dass man über verschiedene Wege ans Ziel gelangen kann. Trotz "Ahnungslosigkeit" musste ich jedenfalls nie so wirklich eine Brute Force Methode anwenden, bei der ich mir sowieso nie merken kann, was ich schon hatte. Ich probierte einfach und schon bald hatte ich den richtigen Ansatz dann doch gefunden.

Im Laufe der Zeit kommen neue und mehr Farben sowie umfangreichere Rauten dazu; wie gesagt bis 6x6. Nach meiner bisherigen Beobachtung sind es bis zu fünf Farben parallel. Interessanterweise macht weder die Anzahl der Farben noch die Größe es so wirklich schwer(er). Manchmal braucht man drei bis fünf Ansätze, bis es klappt.

Das größere (Luxus)Problem ist der Umfang. Strata führt keine neuen Mechaniken ein, und so etwas sehe ich immer kritisch, gerade wenn ein Spiel dann länger dauert, als es müsste. Ich denke drei, vier Stunden Spielzeit wäre hier noch ok, aber mit den vielen Levels wird es locker das Dreifache.
(man ziehe von meiner Spielzeit übrigens 5h ab, die ich vor vielen Jahren schonmal drin hatte und jetzt wiederholt habe)

Für ein aufregenderes Erlebnis fehlen nicht nur die Besonderheiten, auch kommt es zu keinen Aha-Momenten. Bestes Gegenbeispiel hierfür ist Hexcells. Hexcells sieht schlicht und immer gleich aus, ist aber superclever aufgebaut und es macht Spaß, die Levels zu entschlüsseln. In Strata ist keine besondere Finesse versteckt.

Was ich noch kritisieren würde, wäre das nicht vorhandene Menü. Man kann einmal am Anfang den Ton ausmachen(?!), mehr nicht! Es geht nirgendwo auch nur in das kleinste Menü rein. Keine Lautstärke, keine Grafik (höchstens über den Launcher zu Beginn), und vor allem fehlt die Option zum Beenden des Spiels! Mit Esc kann man sich zum Anfang zurückhangeln und dann rauskommen, ansonsten hilft nur Fenster schließen oder gar Alt+F4.

Tja und wenn wir schon über mangelnde Optionen sprechen, dann doch auch gleich über mangelnde Akustik. Fazit: so gut wie nicht vorhanden. Ab und zu kommt mal Pianogeklimper oder Streicher. Im Grunde nur, wenn man was anklickt oder ein Level wechselt (man also etwas löst oder irgendwo herumnavigiert). Dann steht da in meinem Kopf so ein einsamer Streicher und hält den Ton krampfhaft noch ein paar Sekunden, während das Orchester schon lange Feierabend hat. Beim nächsten Mal ist es ein Pianist, der müde drei Tasten anschlägt. Umgekehrt wird man also in den Momenten, in denen man evtl. nur nachdenklich auf den Bildschirm starrt, völlig alleingelassen. Das ist schon schwach.

Ab und zu kommt es noch zu einem Bug, bei dem sich zu bestimmten Levelübergängen die Schrift im Menü übereinanderlegt. Dann hilft nur ein Neustart.

[h1]Fazit[/h1]

Meine Review ist weder eine Empfehlung noch eine Warnung, sondern eher ein Hinweis, dass es dieses Spiel gibt (noch und in DE sehr bald vermutlich nicht mehr).
Entscheiden muss bitte jeder anhand meiner Ausführungen für sich selbst. Ich persönlich empfinde Strata nicht als unbedingten Rätselkracher. Es ist ein hübsches Spiel und hat ein “nettes“ Spielprinzip, ist aber insgesamt eher durchschnittlich und v.a. langatmig. Kann man spielen, muss man aber nicht.

First up, if you're looking to see if this game works on the Steam Deck, it does.

A great game, with plenty of content! It's one of the older games in my backlog that I've been going through since I got my Steam Deck, and I can say it works almost perfectly! The only real improvement it needs is that it would be nice to have proper controller support, but it works excellently other than that and runs natively as a bonus.

It'd be fantastic if this could get an update to add controller support and get validated as compatible.

I find this game relaxing when it works; Its simple puzzles and musical feedback make it charming. However, it could definitely use an intro video in the beginning and fix the stupid defects in the UI.
It has a lagging / unintuitive UI that for my computer doesn't work in Windowed mode at all and when non-windowed it often lock ups due to application defects that should be easy to fix, but it's an old hobist game.
This game is worth a couple of bucks, but not more than that, given its limited puzzles and issues.

Premetto che alla scrittura ho completato il gioco con il completamento dei trofei:

Strada è un gioco estremamente coinvolgente, uno di quei giochi in cui il tempo passa senza che tu te ne accorga, mentre la tua mente ragiona vieni cullato dalle note che mano a mano che risolvi il puzzle vengono eseguite ad ogni tua azione, e stonando invece ad ogni tuo errore.
Un gioco adatto anche ai più piccoli, utile magari per introdurli nel mondo della logica visiva, oltre che strumento di allenamento per i più grandi nella stessa.

Il gioco in se non è molto difficile da capire, anzi, il tutorial iniziale è molto intuitivo e la meccanica di fondo è anche molto originale.
Alle lunghe non ti senti annoiato, complice anche il fatto che ad ogni quadro le musiche cambiano, intonando nuove note ogni volta che compi una azione, mentre la difficoltà fra gli stage aumenta con l'incremento del numero di righe e colonne in cui disporre le linee e i differenti colori che le stesse possono prendere.

Pro:
+ Grafica colorata e molto curata, con un bellissimo sincronismo fra azione compiuta e melodia
+ Gamplay intuitivo ma interessante, con una meccanica originale e che alle lunghe non annoia
+ Adatto anche ai più piccoli; utile come esercizio per la logica (consiglio se avete figli/fratelli/nipoti/etc. dai 13 anni in su di proporgli questo gioco anche come sfida, ma prima ancora che come metodo per affinare la logica)

Sinceramente non trovo contro da assegnare al gioco, è un puzzle game che rispecchia le aspettative, propone un gamplay e lo tiene acceso con l'aumentare delle sfide; unica cosa che gli si potrebbe rimproverare è che dal 5° quadro in poi la difficoltà ricomincia per poi riaumentare fino al quadro finale, ma dato che in realtà il cambio è un cambio generale di tema e stile musicale, non lo ritengo un difetto, quanto una interessante scelta di gamedesign.

Voto 10/10, consigliatissimo per tutti coloro che vogliono un gioco rilassante ma comunque impegnativo

Hard to describe just how MONUMENTALLY dull this puzzle game is.
I don't know - something about the visuals or the patterns themselves being too repetitive to the point that I can only last 5-10 minutes in this game before needing to play cookie clicker or something, just to take a breather from its monotony.

Simple rules, minimalistic UI and graphics, Strata delivers a satisfying collection of 485 puzzles where you have to achieve a specific pattern (from 3x3 up to 6x6) by weaving an array of ribbons. The puzzles are divided into "7 sets", each set is further divided into 4 subsets.

Some of the puzzles looked quite challenging at first but there are some tricks and patterns which you get used to. After some practice, you may be able to perfect a 5x5 puzzle on your first try in some 20sec. The only downside I can think of is that they force you to watch all the transition animations when you're changing sets, from set 1 to set 2, from set 2 to set 3 and so on. Poor choice, guys, just make a menu instead.

Achievements are natural and rather easy (you only have to perfect 200 of the 485 puzzles). Linux port was good but the game was strangely heavy - what the hell were are you guys rendering there?!?!

Good puzzle game, go ahead and grab it!

Výborná minimalistická logická hra se stuhami. Musíte je správně vázat přes sebe, aby barva stuhy odpovídala barvě čtverce pod ní. První vrstva ještě nemusí odrážet danou barvu, ale druhá už musí, tudíž vázání vyžaduje dost plánování. Po čase jsem si vytvořil systém, kdy jsem na to šel jakoby od konce. Prostě jsem si uvědomil, která stuha bude na poli poslední a díky tomu jsem se dobral postupně až k té první a voilá, každá hádanka od té doby byla jednoduchá. Herní mechanismy se nijak nemění, pouze přibývá počet barev a zvětšuje se herní pole. Cena mi přijde přestřelená, i když jsem ve Stratě strávil osm hodin. Hru rozhodně doporučuji, ale kvůli menší rozmanitosti bych spíš po ní sáhl až ve slevě.

It's a enjoyable and relaxing game. The levels are short, BUT...

There are just so many of them that it gives me a type of anxiety that I'm never going to get to the end. After 3 or 4 years to do 140 and I still have 350 to go. I keep telling myself I will do a few each day, I'll break it up and I'll finish this relaxing little puzzle game, but I never get there and the icon just sits there staring at me as I open my gaming machine and load up something else I'd rather play.

So, today I delete it unfinished and move on with my life.

Je joue sur Linux. Version Linux : excellente.

[h1]Le jeu[/h1]

Un casse-tête, le but est de remplir chaque case du tableau avec la couleur demandée en empilant des rubans de différentes couleurs sur les lignes et colonnes. C'est graphiquement assez épuré, avec des bruits d'ambiance plutôt agréables, pas vraiment de musique.

Le jeu reste relativement facile du début à la fin, les niveaux 3x3 se terminant en quelques secondes, les 6x6 étant un peu plus longs à compléter :). Il est possible de revenir en arrière sur la dernière action effectuée (on peut remonter au tout début du niveau), ce qui empêche d'avoir le niveau en "parfait".

Le jeu a quelques défauts et bugs. Le principal défaut est l'absence d'un bouton pour quitter. Il faut revenir au menu principal et appuyer sur Escape. Le problème, c'est que pour ça, dans un niveau, il faut quitter le niveau, revenir à la sélection du groupe de niveau, revenir au monde courant, puis remonter chaque monde jusqu'au menu principal, car oui pour aller du monde 4 au niveau principal il faudra passer par le 3 puis le 2 puis le 1... Soit un nombre assez agaçant d'actions juste pour quitter. Je vous conseille plutôt Alt+F4, même si ça affiche un écran noir pendant quelques secondes avant de quitter.

L'autre problème, lié au premier, c'est que si on clique trop vite sur les boutons pour quitter, ou bien qu'on appuie sur Escape pour aller plus vite, le jeu bug, commence à afficher les différents mondes l'un au dessus de l'autre... bref un peu n'importe quoi, la seule solution est Alt+F4 dans ce cas.

[h1]Rejouabilité, achievements[/h1]

Les achievements consistent à finir tous les niveaux en "parfait". Aucune difficulté, je n'ai du recommencer que quelques niveaux sur l'ensemble du jeu car je n'avais pas réussi le parfait du premier coup.

Un petit casse-tête plutôt sympathique malgré ses quelques bugs.

La version Linux est excellente, aucun problème rencontré qui n'existe pas aussi sur Windows (les bugs que j'ai décrit plus haut sont aussi sur Windows).

An aesthetically-looking puzzle game with interesting and simple concept. Relaxing and doesn't require a huge brain to finish. The biggest problem is that game mechanic doesn't change or evolve during level progress, but due to this, game perfectly fits for short 5-10 minutes sessions, when you don't need to remember a lot of rules and you could easily came back to it after even a big break.
Achievements are a bit bugged in a favor of player and can be received earlier that it should.

A concept with somewhat limited potential that was not executed flawlessly. Strata's visuals and audio are clean and professional, but don't change much. This contributes to the game feeling monotonous. Enhancing that sense of monotony is the high number of puzzles (over 500) coupled with a low overall difficulty level, and an uneven difficulty curve—which does have a general upward trend due to the increasing size of the grid, but is disorganized and scattered within sets and level groups.

Achievements are bugged, but in the player's favor; the achievements for completing entire sets will be awarded upon completion of the first puzzle in each set.

Colorblind people should categorically dismiss this game, per [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/286380/discussions/0/522728814238566964/]all the requests for accommodation in the discussion forum that have gone unanswered since 2014[/url]—and as astute readers may have already gathered, I'm disinclined to recommend Strata regardless.

Jogava Strata quando era com metade das fazes grátis na Play Store, e tenho que dizer, preferia ele lá. Não necessariamente grátis.

Esse jogo é muito melhor como um passatempo no smartphone enquanto espera o dentista tirar a cabeça da bunda e te atender, do que é no PC.

Pelo menos eu acho isso, mas mesmo assim, o estilo dos puzzles é bem interessante e divertido. Recomendo.

简单精美的益智类游戏~通过线条覆盖方块的方式过关！对我而言依旧很难~
游戏一共7大关，每个大关卡下面几个小类别。每个类别里有各种小关卡！
音乐简单，基本就是玩家按下按钮的时候发出琴声！
画面也很朴素，也很直接！

Strata is a puzzle game where you have to cover each tile with a certain color on top. The game has 2 2x2, 7 3x3, 10 4x4, 6 5x5, and 3 6x6 set of puzzles in it.

The game graphics are simple, yet beautiful. However, the game design makes me tilt my head everytime i play the game. I wish the boxes aren't tilted at all.

The game actually don't have any background music at all, but they have beautiful sfx that triggers whenever you're doing something. I like the sfx in the last pack the most.

[h1]The game[/h1]
It is a puzzle game where you have to color each tile based on the predetermined color. You can color one row or column at once. However, you have to color each tile twice and the last color that you color in a tile will be the color of the said tile. It's actually kinda difficult to explain the puzzle mechanic, but there is an in game tutorial that explain it better.

The game has 7 sets in total, each have 4 level packs, ranging from 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, and 6x5. The 2x2 has 4 levels in total, 3x3 has 9 levels in total, and so on. Each level packs also have their own different color (mostly based on the set theme) and number of color that is provided to color the tile. However, i find that some colors look too similar to each other in some packs.

The game might be difficult to understand at first, but once you figure out [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266438311]how to solve the puzzle[/url], it becomes easy to complete the rest of the puzzle (even the most difficult 6x6 puzzle). It might become too boring if you play it in one sitting though. However, the animation after you start the game is taking some time to finish if you are in the last few sets. It's not really a problem, but worth mentioning.

- Beautiful sfx

- Some colors look too similar to each other in some packs
- The game design makes your head tilt everytime you play the game

Highly recommended puzzler with over 450 levels to complete. It trains your spatial thinking by forcing you to figure out which colored row to apply first which might be overwritten by the next color applied. Think of it like putting down colored ribbons on top of each other in a gridlike pattern to match a predetermined colored pattern. The 5x5 start getting hard and the 6x6 grids are quite a challange to keep in your head when going for a perfect round. Sure, you can always do it once with all the undos and hints you want and then writing down the order and do it again to get a perfect crown on the level, but whats the fun in that.

This is a unique little puzzle game that I found enjoyable but rather on the easy side. At 4 hours in I have finished all but three of the achievements (haven't unlocked 6x6 yet, nor have I perfected 200 puzzles.) I am estimating I might have 6 or so hours left, as the remaining puzzles are generally the larger ones but I am more than half way through. So a pretty easy 100% achievement game if you enjoy puzzles. Some bugs were found in this version, but nothing that lost any progress (the menu, which is neat conceptually if somewhat cumbersome, sometimes gets messed up such that you have to exit and restart.)

Strata is a spatial based puzzle game that involves laying down colored ribbons to match the grid below. With the requirements being that 2 ribbons must cross over each square in the grid and that the top ribbon must be the coordinated color, you must learn how to think in the sequence that will get you the desired result. I finished the game - which consists of 7 sets, each with 4 waves with a varying amount of levels - in about 11 hours with all the achievements.

I really enjoyed my time with the game and found that it was the perfect amount of content to be able to challenge myself and scratch the puzzle itch without overstaying it's welcome. The music was lovely and charming, and I think it was a nice added touch that the music responded to your moves in the game. I loved the minimalistic semi-paper quality the graphics had, the colors went well together, and ultimately it was pretty nice to look at.

Some minor things I think are worth mentioning is that there were a few times where the UI overlapped itself or just wouldn't let me click on anything (this happened rarely though - maybe 3 times total throughout the times I was going in and out of the menus), so I would have to shut the game down and open it again. I also found it a little strange that the last 2 sets didn't have achievements associated with them like the first 5 sets, but that certainly isn't a terrible thing, just a weird point to note.

Other than those 2 small things, the game was a wonderful experience and I believe it is worth a try, so I recommend it for spatial puzzle lovers looking to give their brains something to work on.

Worth the money, probably. It never seems to go on sale.
I bought it when Steam had a $6-off-for-$35-purchased sale and saved a little that way.

The menu system is a bit buggy (wait a second before pressing the Escape key) and overlong.
Once you grasp what's going on, it's more an exercise in memory than reasoning. Still hard, though.
Quite pretty, and the sound feedback is good.

Somewhere into the third set I finally figured out what I was doing.
Spoiler (solution algorithm):
[spoiler] 1.) Take any single-color strips off (in your head).
2.) Add them to the end of your mental list.
3.) With those gone, the puzzle will have new single-color strips left (or be done).
a) If it isn't done, loop to 1.).
b) If it is done, go to 4.) with your mental list.
4.) Lay strips of the appropriate colors on the puzzle in the opposite order from which you mentally removed them. [/spoiler]
If you ever get stuck, you can paste a screen grab into Paint and use that to remember your solution order.

Головоломка. В правильном порядке разложить ленточки так, чтобы сверху оказались те цвета, что заданы в узоре.

Начинается ничего, но очень скоро понимаешь алгоритм, и начинается тоска смертная. Потому что ничего нового не прибавится, просто увеличивается размер узора с 3 до 4 клеток и потом до 5 и, судя по достижениям, даже до 6.

Особо хорошо, что количество уровней совпадает с размером головоломки. Т.е. маленьких и быстрых 3х3 всего 9 штук, средних 4х4 - 16, а 5х5, видимо, будет все 25.

Видимо, любителям медитативного однообразного геймплея подойдёт. Вот таким вот я её рекомендую. Я же от неё устал уже на втором сете.

A simple look, a delicate soundtrack and challenging levels makes this game a gem in its kind.

The aim is simple - you have to create a given pattern with ribbon-like lines. It is like making patterns on clotches - threads have to cross each other and some of them have to create a picture on an outer layer. The player have to think of a proper sequence and which colors have to be used.

There are almost 500 levels in total - starting with patterns 2x2 up to 6x6. They are challenging, especially at the beginning. Later it is possible to get a 'feeling' of the puzzles and completing them without much effort.

Even though the game started to be simple for me on the further levels, I enjoyed it very very much. It was a truly relaxing experience.
I highly recommend Strata, it is absolutely worth the full price.

A simple mechanic, well presented, relaxing music, fine graphics. My only gripe is that you have to press ESC several times (a mobile leftover) to get to the main menu and/or exit. It's what you see on the images that gets a little more complicated with more stripes per side and more colours simultaneously. That's it, no other mechanism added and plays smoothly. If you like what you see..go for it. It should have a colourblind mode though so you 8bit people..beware!

Strata is definitely a mobile game, and not one of the stronger examples. Games like [i]LYNE[/i] can feel natural on PC with decent controls and content, but Strata suffers in both qualities. Worst of all, the clunky UI has bugged out almost every time I've played.

The basic gameplay of Strata is to figure out the order of lines to color everything correctly. Later sections increase the number of colors and grid size, but by that point the game has become fairly simple. The only element that changes by that time is the musical cues. There's a surprising amount of audio variety, but with no volume controls, I ended up muting it.

The overall menu is designed similarly to the core game, but this leads to cumbersome navigation. Flipping between sections takes extra time and mouse movements. I've consistently had the menu bug out beyond the third section, causing the menu to display multiple overlapping words or stop moving. After navigating like this for a moment, the menus will usually stick in an infinite loop, requiring Alt F4, as the main menu cannot be reached to exit.

It was interesting for a short time, but I'm not impressed, and I wouldn't recommend it. The buggy interface ended up frustrating me more than anything.

The sound in this game is very relaxing. It's an interesting feature that each line laid down forms a chord with other lines, and a discord if it is in error. It's slightly jarring but not distressingly so. The game play is not frustratingly difficult, and once you understand how it works it becomes fairly easy (if you are a habitual puzzler). The colour palettes are aesthetically pleasing, as is the neutral but textural background. My only complaint is that if you aren't mindful, it can cause neck strain, as the grid is on a 45° angle. I tended to turn my head to compensate, but it's all good if you change sides often or rest your head on your hand.

Los videos del juego me llamaron y, por el precio que tenía, me arriesgué a comprarlo. Y bien que hice, ya que es el típico juego que siempre tienes instalado y le das poco a poco disfrutando cada vez que vuelves a ello.

Al principio los puzzles son sencillos y, a medida que añaden colores, le tienes que dar al coco para seguir avanzando y hacer la fase perfectamente. Recomendado para fans de juegos de puzzle que les gusta pensar con tranquilidad su siguiente movimiento.

TLDR: Experience clearly tailored to be enjoyed on tablet. Entertainment value is dubious as PC title. Bland overall and not worth suffering underpar controls.

Unity tablet puzzler where you place lines on top of grids and top line much match color of bottom square. This feels kinda like wrapping presents with a weird ruleset and the game was clearly desgined to be tapped at to send the ribbons to do their thing. Using a mouse is not nearly as organic or fluid. The audiovisuals remain a bit bland and the game is repetitive. It builds up in difficulty but this is meant as a on and off again kind of distraction. Prefect to whip up a level or two while you are in a waiting room somewhere. Removed for declutter.

Ribbon wrapping has never looked so simple but played so complex as it does with 'Strata'. The clean and crisp UI matched with a relaxing sound track make this puzzle game a good choice to curl up with and slowly become entwined in it's ever increasing difficulty.

Minor oddities in design, namely the 'perfect' level, feel a bit out of place but don't do significant harm to the game overall.

This is a simplistic puzzle game built with Unity and possibly a tablet port.

The objective of the puzzle game is to layer ribbons over specific squares in the right order so that matching coloured ribbons are on top the top layer of matching colour squares (hence Strata).

However this is a simplistic puzzle game and not in line with expectations from a typical PC game, so should only be considered by people who are enthusiastic about puzzle games. Minimalist graphics and tabletesque gameplay put this beneath the standard for PC gaming.

Chaque niveau se présente sous la forme d'un carré plus ou moins grand, de 2 x 2 cases jusqu'à 6 x 6 cases, qu'il vous faut recouvrir avec des bandes de couleur. Pour un carré 2 x 2, vous devrez poser 4 bandes : 2 en "ligne", 2 en "colonne", si l'on peut dire. Pour un carré 3 x 3, vous devrez en poser 9. Et ainsi de suite. Afin de valider un niveau, la couleur de chaque case doit correspondre avec la couleur du ruban qui apparaît sur le dessus. Ici réside l'essentiel de la difficulté : trouver dans quel ordre doivent être placées ces bandes nécessite un peu de planification. D'autant que le nombre de couleurs utilisées dans un même niveau varie de deux à cinq, avec des répercussions évidentes sur sa complexité.

Au total vous sont proposés près de 400 niveaux, répartis sur 7 mondes. Un contenu tout à fait décent, me direz-vous, si ce n'était une certaine répétitivité. En effet, du début à la fin, seules la quantité de couleurs dont nous disposons et la taille des niveaux ont une incidence sur le gameplay. Aucune nouvelle mécanique ne vient l'enrichir... dommage ! Sans compter qu'on a tôt fait d'en comprendre les rouages et donc de cerner le procédé général permettant de tous les résoudre. Strata is a nice, meditative puzzle game. If you need to chill out and soothe your nerves, Strata does a good job, while simultaneously working out the logic centers of your mind.

Basically, you have to figure out a way to make sure the top color matches the box it goes over - but then you have to worry about other colored boxes.

It's basically a foil for Yosumin. While I enjoy that puzzle game, dear God does the sound irritate.

Strata is low-key and immensely enjoyable.

Un jeu de réflexion épuré et soigné avec un concept simple: reproduire le tableau avec les bonnes couleurs à l'aide de rubans de la même couleur. La difficulté, que le dernier ruban ^posé corresponde à la couleur du tableau.

La difficulté est bien dosée et le jeu se prend très facilement en main après un didacticiel bien fait.

La musique est jolie et sait se faire petite et accompagner le côté poétique du titre et les animations sont jolies.

Bref, pour les amateurs de jeu de réflexion, Strata propose un challenge à la difficulté peut être un peu simple pour les amateurs du genre et qui sera parfait entre deux sessions de jeux intenses.

This game gets a lot of bashing for being too simple. I on the other hand will call it for what it is. It's a 4 dollar treat with the current tags "Casual and Relaxing". That's a puzzle I would suspect hardcore puzzle enthusiasts to crack. I for one find it really nice that you can turn the game on and know that you for sure will be able to beat some of the puzzles. It get's me in the same mood as doing a jigsaw puzzle. You know you will get there in time and you will enjoy the way there. With that said I would recommend this for anyone who wants a puzzlegame that is less punishing but a treat for the mind.

这游戏比较像ichi，hook和hexcell，更讲究“正确的顺序规律”，而不像LYNE可以靠反复尝试筛选出正确答案（当然成就本身也没有LYNE那么吸引人）。

另外，这游戏要是能画辅助线就好了，后面到了6*6的12条带子就算能一条条逆推出正确答案也经常忘记顺序反复重来有点烦，如果能像hexcell那样用右键标记一下就方便了。

最后，本游戏的成就设定有点迷，完成全成就甚至不用把7个大关中任何一个全部完美。

差点忘了评测的原因……不过这游戏似乎也没有国区定价，写推荐对广大国区玩家大概也没什么卵用哈。（我还是去年从HB慈善包入手的，又一个迷一般的设定）

Strata is a minimalistic puzzler. You're presented with a grid, from 3x3 to 6x6, with various coloured squares. Each colour is represented by a selection of coloured ribbons at the bottom of the screen. The objective is to cover every square so that the topmost ribbon colour matches the square. All rows and columns must be used.

Each level has 4 stages of hints so you can reveal them one by one if you're struggling. The 4th hint more or less reveals the solution. To get a 'perfect' solution you have to do it without hints.

[h1]Presentation[/h1]

Visuals: each of the 7 areas has its own colour palette and the completed puzzle lattices are very pleasing on the eye. If you enjoy mulling over colour swatches for your home decor then this will be right up your street. The screen background even looks like textured wallpaper.

Music: there is no constant tune. Instead, your moves are accompanied by soothing piano chords. If you get it right you're rewarded with a satisfying tune. If you get it wrong the jarring off-key notes will tell you in no uncertain terms. It's rather ingenious and for me it endured longer than the average ambient sounds you get with most puzzlers before the novelty wore thin and I finally switched it off.

Menu system is nicely integrated with the visual theme. A ribbon extends to the next/previous (named) area. Within each of the 7 areas are 4 groups of puzzles with varying grid sizes and number of ribbons. Perfected groups/levels are marked with a crown. In total there are several hundred puzzles.

All in all the whole experience is classy and tasteful.

[h1]Performance[/h1]

On a couple of occasions I had a strange glitch where moving between areas resulted in text being overwritten but restarting fixed it, no biggie. Otherwise this is a low-demand game that should run smoothly on any hardware and offers all screen resolution options. It gets extra brownie points for being fully cross-platform.

[h1]Difficulty[/h1]

For the first hour or so it gets a bit tricky but here's the thing. It didn't take long for me to work out a method which could be applied to any puzzle and from then on there was no challenge at all.

I won't give away the method but after I discovered it myself I found it described in the Community Guides if you're interested. In a nutshell, if you can build a sequence of up to 12 numbers in your head (or use a pen and paper if you don't consider that cheating) and then repeat them backwards then you have the aptitude to beat every puzzle easily.

Even if you don't manage to work out the method, you can use the hints system to reveal the solution, reset the level and then copy the solution for a perfect score. It kind of makes a mockery of the Steam achievements for this game. You'll notice a relatively high completion rate on the global achievements chart and this is the reason why.

The only differences between the first puzzle and the last are the size of grid and number of ribbons. The gameplay is identical. No new mechanics are ever introduced.

[h1]Value[/h1]

If you judge value by the length of play time then, with hundreds of levels, this is undoubtedly a bargain even at full asking price.

Some might argue that repeating exactly the same puzzle hundreds of times without any variation would result in the player stopping out of boredom long before the full content of the game has been explored and therefore it should be a $1 game. Whatever your opinion is on the matter, if you wait for a sale you can't go far wrong.

24 achievements, all progress-related. If you complete the game you get all achievements. I found that a few of them dropped before they were supposed to. In any case, I consider this an easy game to get 100% - even if you don't cheat (see above).

No trading cards. It does have Steam Cloud which is useful with this type of game as you're likely to want to carry it around with you on multiple devices.

[h1]Verdict[/h1]

Strata is beautifully presented and for a while the puzzles are engaging, but it's like being served the same delicious meal over and over again on various size/colour plates. It won't be long before you get sick of it and hanker for something else.
