Il y a des tas de jeux sur les gladiateurs et ils sont rarement bons ou souvent inachevés, trop ambitieux ou très décevants. Mis à part le formidable - mais banni - Domina et l'antique Gladius, celui-ci, bien qu'il ne soit pas le plus prétentieux de la bande, est finalement un des seuls qui soit amusant et joliment tourné.
On paper the game seems nice.
But the gameplay is boring and not fun.

Hra Story of a Gladiator je arénová beat 'em up akce, kde hráč ovládá gladiátora bojujícího o slávu a přežití v římských koloseích. Příběh je poměrně jednoduchý – hráč je neznámý bojovník, který po ztrátě všeho pod tlakem osudu bojuje v krvavých arénách za svého přežití a snahu vysvobodit se z otroctví. Hra je rozdělena do vln nepřátel, které je třeba porazit v arénách a postupně tak získávat slávu a odměny.
Hratelnost je zaměřena na boj v blízkém kontaktu s mnoha protivníky najednou, přičemž je důležité využívat kombinace útoků, blokování a vyhýbání se. Důraz je kladen na zlepšování dovedností postavy, získávání lepší výzbroje a přežití v soubojích.
Příběh v této hře není rozvinutý do podrobností a spíše slouží jako kulisa pro akční souboje. Hra je určena pro fanoušky rychlé akce v gladiátorském prostředí.
Pokud máte zájem o detailní příběh gladiátorských her, lze také zmínit titul Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, kde hráč sleduje invictuse Thraxe, bojovníka vyvoleného bohy, s dramatickým příběhem a nadpřirozenými prvky.

Враховуючи що кампанія тут у гіршому випадку годин на 6, то обладунків, щитів, різноманітної зброї та інших приколів тут вдосталь для цього часу. Хоча й все це розмаїття у спорядженні деінде не рятує від одноманітності у битвах, при тому що гра все ж намагається викидати на вас нових супротивників, з різним оснащенням, прийомами та тактикою бою.
То ж якщо ви з захопленням дивились на цих накачаних чоловіків у фігурних обладунках цей проект може стати свіжим подихом на декілька вечорів, що б нарешті перепочити від монструозності сьогоднішніх ААА проектів, у мирних кривавих розвагах часів римської імперії.
Great game , wasted hrs trying to get it working newer hardware and windows 11, but have done now, `I` have enjoyed playing through overall, in i ts way, kind of simple game play, but gets to a point of lack of depth despite it has quite a few items it often doesn't feel so much different, Still would like to see updates to it for sure.

다국적 인디 게임 개발사에서 만든 고대 로마 시대 노예 검투사 액션 게임.
노예 검투사가 되어 로마 시내를 돌아다니며 여러 상점을 이용해 캐릭터의 능력치를 강화시키고. 콜로세움에서 전투를 벌여 챔피언의 자리에 올라 자유민이 되는 이야기다.
액션 쪽은 게임 소개를 보면 고전 벨트 스크롤 액션 게임에 영향을 받았다고는 하지만, 실제로는 데미지 입은 직후의 무적 판정이 없고. 기본 공격의 콤보 요소와 잡기, 점프 공격 같은 게 없고. 전투가 벌어지는 배경은 콜로세움으로 한정되어 있어 이동 반경이 좁다 보니 스크롤이 움직이는 게 체감이 되지 않아 게임 플레이 감각은 그냥 보통 액션 게임이다.
플레이어는 사거리가 짧은 단병기만 장비 가능하고 원거리 무기인 도끼, 투창은 소비형 무기라 잔탄 제한이 있는데. 적들은 나중에 가면 일반 잡졸들이 창 들고 졸라 찔러대고, 원거리 공격도 무한으로 걸어오는 상황에, 무적 판정이 없으니 다수의 적한테 둘러 쌓여 일제 공격을 당하면 순식간에 녹아 내리듯 죽어 나가기 때문에 레벨 디자인이 썩 좋다고 볼 수는 없다. (나도 찌르는 창 쓰고 싶다고, 찌르는 창!)
하지만 전투 때 나오는 적 검투사의 복색과 무장이 역사 고증을 나름 잘 지켰고 그 종류도 매우 다양해서 보는 맛이 있고, 전투 후 로마 시내를 돌아다니며 상점을 이용하는 게 내용 구성이 워낙 알차서 잔재미가 있다.
무기, 갑옷, 방패 등 개인 장비 구입과 강화는 물론이고 전투 훈련장에 가서 스킬도 찍을 수 있고, 부적을 사거나 음식을 먹고 버프를 받거나, 사원에서 신에게 빌어 관중들의 호응 에너지를 통해 신의 권능을 발동하여 싸우기도 하고. 사자, 호랑이, 표범 등의 야수를 사서 고기를 먹여 버프시켜 전투 때 데리고 다니며 같이 싸우는 것 등등. 캐릭터 강화 요소가 다양하게 준비되어 있다.
스토리 모드의 결말도 해피 엔딩으로 깔끔하게 잘 끝나서 본작을 만든 브레인 씰이 기존에 만든 다크 퀘스트 시리즈보다 더 낫다. 다크 퀘스트 2의 최종 보스전 공략 난이도가 존나게 어려운데 힘들게 클리어한 결말이 뭐 하나 속시원하게 해결되는 거 없이 차회 예고로 끝나는 거 생각하면 진짜 같은 제작사에서 만든 게 맞나 싶을 정도다.

Me gustó bastante el juego. No te va a sorprender ni te va a defraudar, va directo al grano. Sencillo, sin complicaciones y divertido. Además tiene su dificultad y un modo torneo con diferentes estilos de pelea.
Lo negativo es que no puedas tener esos distintos tipos de pelea/armas en tus partidas del modo campaña.

Doğru yetenekleri açarak ve aynı bölümleri gelişmek için tekrar tekrar oynayarak. İşinize en çok yarayacak olan yetenekler bloklama ve blokladıktan sonra geri saldırma tuşunuz. I loved it. There are times when you'll have to farm a level for money/experience to upgrade your gear. I don't mind a bit of grinding. The levels become increasing more challenging, however the developers give you tools to combat those challenges. Via Beasts/pets. Some strategies are far more effective on certain levels.
I see some people complain about the voodoo warriors in the Neapolis arena and the pits that they force you to run into. It happens, however you can avoid this be by simply being patient and not so aggressive.
I would deeply enjoy additionally content for this game or an expanded sequel.

I LOVE the concept of this, an old-school beat 'em up with progression in a gladiatorial arena. What's not to like? Unfortunately, the controls. It may act like an old-school beat 'em up, but it doesn't feel like it. The attacks feel unresponsive, the special moves involve pressing several keys at once, and the game tends to not register key presses some of the time. This leads to frustration as you try to block an attack but the game doesn't respond to your key press. And unlike most beat 'em ups, where you expect to take hits, here you're penalized severely for them. Either by less XP and coin, or by simply being killed after 4-5 hits. I love the idea, I just wish it played more like the games it was inspired by.

Eğer kolay modda oynuyorsanız veya bu berbat kontrollere sahip oyunda bir şekilde ilk denemede geçebiliyorsanız bir şey diyemem ama genel olarak bir gün için en az birkaç kez ölüp exp ve altın kasarak kendinizi güçlendirip o bölümü ancak geçebiliyorsunuz. I Love Gladiator Games . its not bad but could be so much better. some stage are really hard if not have suitable armor and weapon . instead of playing one stage 15 time to get money if there was more stages game would be much more fun . after a while its just boring to play one stage again and again

Just not a very fun game. Too much trial an error. Lose a fight and get some gold till you can unlock better gear and skills.
Enemy AI will either wander aimless or charge for you full force.
-Stun-locking is a thing for both you and the enemy. Lost a few fights because I legit could not function and had to watch my health dwindle to nothing.
-Far too slow to move up a level. Gave up after struggling to get to level 5 in normal mode.
-Insufficient reward system.
-Not fun – avoid.

Now sure, this game looks like something you would play on free google games, but if the Untitled Goose game can be hugely popular and you pay for that too, why wouldn’t you waste a couple of bucks on this one too?

It looks like a students cheap homework, and it’s just a mindless 2D hack and slash about Gladiators for you to play while you’re sitting on the toilet, so should we really be that demanding? Don’t let the appearance fool you though, its fun and addicting. I just want a sequel to Gladius…
The true question is… Do you like movies about Gladiators?

Gladiator is good.
Взял игру, чтобы поиграть на слабом компе для учебы. Идет хорошо, не требовательная, но сама игра оказалась полным разочарованием. Ожидания зрелищных массовых битв на арене столкнулось с суровой реальностью.
Атаки врагов нельзя предсказать, и щиты не блокируют урон полностью, так что придется привыкнуть полагаться на удачу - удастся первым ударить по врагу - хорошо, не удастся - получишь урон. И так раз 20, пока противники не кончатся противники или твое здоровье, так что к поражениям стоит привыкнуть.
К тому же управление весьма неудобное: чтобы сделать добивающий удар нужно нажать "Атака" + "Кувырок" из за этого у тебя получается то атаку, то кувырок когда тебе нужен прием. Там и с другими приёмами.
В целом битвы крайне "деревянные".
В общем - не рекомендую.

O jogo tem problemas com o modo cooperativo, quando coloco o gamepad não sei porque os dois personagens são controlados pelo gamepad, não tem como colocar que o player 1 seja, por exemplo, keyboard e o player 2 gamepad. Entrei o forum da comunidade do jogo e têm muitaaaaasss pessoas mencionando o mesmo problema e mencionando que o desenvolvedor não soluciono nada ainda. Comprei o jogo para jogar com meu primo em local-lan e obviamente não conseguimos, então foi perdido meu dinhero!! Deveriam tirar isso de coop em tela dividida porque não da para jogar!
If I had to describe this game in one word: Lazy.
The AI is worse than garbage, like really really bad. They'll randomly just sort of stand there and swing at nothing, walk off into the distance or into random corners and just sort of stand there, then suddenly will just randomly charge into combat, so to artificially inflate difficulty because they couldn't even be bothered to do even decent basic AI like targeting, Enemies all have magical AoE attacks and can attack and hit you when you can't hit them, even with max level speed they somehow ALL even the lowest level enemy can attack faster than you, ignore your attacks and keep striking and interrupt you even if you're at the end of your swing and they're just starting their attack. As stated magical AOE attacks that they just strike the air near you and can hit you (when they decide to fight). Regardless of what skills and options you pick, it's all pretty much the same. You can only attack on a direct 2d plan, they attack 3d basically. Because CBF'd making a decent AI for an immersive game I'll just make the AI cheat is the basic mentality.
After you win or lose a match you can replay it, however if you hit replay from the main screen your one time use for that match items don' t get used, so why have the option in the first place from the victory/loss screen when you have to go back to the town anyway because you have to rebuy your 1 round use items however it doesn't tell you any of that, you just have to figure it out as you go. It doesn't really explain how anything works, just what things do so you get to figure it out yourself.
It has a crowd favour bar and God powers, the god powers are directly related to your favour bar as are crowds throwing things like heals gold or stones at the enemy. However if you use the God power the bar goes completely, meaning if you use a God power the crowd stops doing soing anything and negates all crowd favour stuff which even has skills directly relating to this... Like wtf? lmao
There are options to rebind controls that literally do nothing, you can change all the buttons on controller and the game ignores it and just keeps the default controls lmao. Like holy crap man.
If you Buy a consumable, you can only have one of each type per round, fine. Same with buff items, fine. Except you can buy it unlimited times... for the one match... With no explanation oh, and if you buy the bonuses/ consumables and change your mind, you can't reselect the other no you have to buy it again in order to try to further drain your gold and artificially inflate the gameplay. Why? because there's F all content.
There are traps in the game, some instant kill you and they're all situated in the places where the crowd throws your bonuses, so making them useless, some rounds have pits which are instant kill and the crowd just tosses all bonuses into the hole because where the crowd is supposed to through stuff is all on the same line in the rounds and the rounds are just randomly dotted with things and no thought lmfao. Like holy crap it's bad, lazy doesn't quite cut it. Oh yeah, there's dodge and block mechanics... Which don't really do that much because with the instant kill pits some enemies knock back or do a fear spell that make you run... straight into the pits with no way to get around it, thus making rounds almost RNG. Because the dev decided they had to artificially inflate restarting the same match over and over and over game because there's no content.
The game is practically empty, it all revolves around artificially inflating very limited themes and gameplay.
The graphics are okayish but nothing to write home about, it's a glorified mobile game (possibly a mobile port i don't know)
This game is just bad. I'm going to finish it on principle, because I left the game running and had to do something so went over the 2 hour mark so i can't even refund it but everything about it feels like it was programmed by a 12 year old russian kid in a basement that was given 3 days to write the code or he gets no Beet soup.
Pity, i wanted to like this game and even thought this could have been a really fun game. But it's not, just poorly made mobile equivalent trash and the dev has the gaul to try and charge nearly 20 AUD for this. It's worth about 1.99 AUD at most.
For an AWESOME gladiator game check out We Who Are About To Die. 1 developer and they created an amazing game infinitely better than this.

Un giochino discreto, lo consiglio caldamente a un prezzo scontato: non è un capolavoro ma crea dipendenza, anche se per andare avanti bisogna potenziare a dovere il personaggio e scegliere bene sia gli oggetti che i bonus da usare nell'arena.
Diciamo che un bel 7 è un voto più che onesto.

Au menu : plusieurs modes de jeu et plusieurs combattants, une progression qui vous permettra d'upgrader et personnaliser votre gladiateur... et surtout du fun ! De l'amusement !
C'est CA, un bon jeu vidéo.
Coté technique RAS, le jeu tourne très bien sans nécessiter une grosse configuration, aucun bug à signaler, et une jouabilité au top (j'utilise une manette XBOX360).
Je ne vous en dis pas plus car les autres commentaires seront plus détaillés, les vidéos et autres reviews sont là pour ça.. et je ne vais pas passer 300 ans à vous parler de ce jeu, car je préfère retourner y jouer !

If you like Beat'em All, Blood and Dismemberments, if you liked the fight scenes of the film Gladiator, then I think this game will please you a lot.
On the menu: several game modes and several fighters, a progression that will allow you to upgrade and personalize your gladiator ... and especially fun!Fun!
It's a good video game.
On the technical side, the game runs very well without requiring a big configuration, no bug to report, and a top playability (I use an Xbox360 controller).
I am not telling you more because the other comments will be more detailed, the videos and other reviews are there for that .. and I will not spend 300 years tell you about this game, because I prefer to go back to play it!
J'ai acheté ce jeu pour jouer en coop.. MAIS que ce soit clavier ou manette.. le joueur 1 contrôle le mouvement des deux joueurs. Donc n'achetez pas le jeu pour la coop car elle ne fonctionne pas (Cf. Discussions).
I bought this game to play co-op .. BUT wether keyboard or gamepad player one control both moves. So don't buy it to co-op 'cause it doesn't work (See discussions).

P.S. This is my first ever game on steam I have down-voted and not-recommended
- ZERO BALANCE, there are 36 levels and you spend level 6 grinding your character from zero to max stats, skill points, animals, everything, before you can play the remaining 30 levels because it's so poorly balanced, so enjoy grinding the same level 6 for 4 straight hours to upgrade your character before playing the game with no more upgrades available.
-There is no ability to play this game with 2 players which is not whats advertised (one controller moves both player one and player two for me and there is no fix, even trying keyboard for player one and controller for player 2 still does not work)
-Only nice thing about this game is the decent art style.
*If the developers literally spent one week balancing this game for progression and then putting in 2 player co-op which currently does not work at all, then you would have a fun little game, unfortunately its just a grind fest broken mess.

the graphics are good
Although it won't take you long to learn how to cheese this game as some of the abilities are broken as hell.
the enemies are varied, and
the game does give you some challenges, by adding pits, spikes, fire etc.
Although i don't see you playing this game for more than 1 weekend
its short enough for you to experience it and complete this game.
Oh, and also you can play this coop locally with a friend.
Definitely recommended, especially when on sale.

A premissa é boa e nas primeiras horas de game parece divertido e promissor.
mais ao ir evoluindo e passando de fase, vai se notando que a dificuldade não vem dos inimigos e sim dos problemas do personagem em agir.
É um jogo mediano que segue mesma fórmula todo tempo, por mais que ele jogue itens e melhorias a coisa é sempre a mesma.
Divertido mais enjoativo e em poucas horas não entreterá tanto.

I didn't expect much, there are some bugs, and I guess I won't play much more than 10 hours, but it is fun enough.

This is a nifty little beat'em up. Down on your luck and with nothing to lose you register to fight in the arena as a gladiator. There are three arenas to compete in. A Greek-themed one, where you face hoplites and other ancient Greek-style warriors. An African-themed one where you face tigers, black panthers and various Zulu-style warriors. Finally a Roman one, where you must contend against the might of the Roman legions. Yes, none of this makes any sense, but hey it's fun. As you win fights you gain better equipment, new skills and even a pet panther to help you in the fights. There are several consumables and other one-offs adding some more depth. Finally, aside from the story mode there is also a survival mode that offers some extra challenge.
The game is not very long, a couple of hours tops, but it is pretty entertaining while it lasts. I bought it on a sale for a couple of € and I don't regret it. For that price, it's worth it.
Love the gameplay and the aesthetic; the combat and enemy types get hard, the customization of your gladiator is quite fun if not expensive.

Game has potential, but it's ruined by insane balancing, by late 1st act blocking is almost useless as every other enemy has either a stun, piercing, or multiple attacks that all go right through blocks, champions block endlessly, keymapping is terrible and for some terrible reason all the enemies on the map are obsessed with you, not sure why but they'll gang up on you with 8 guys and it makes no sense from a lore standpoint. this would be fine for a free browser game but the terrible grind combined with the crazy balancing and price too high at even just 10$ makes this a no go for now.

Лютое г.... просто всё ужасно.... я не знаю, что за монстры собрали здесь все достижения, но играть просто невозможно... любой бомж бьёт в дистанции больше твоей, и не важно, что у тебя топовый меч... враги вытворяют лютую дичь, могут идти и ударить с разворота, со скоростью света.... никому не советую... ужасная игра, только тратить нервы...

Jogo simples, e repetitivo, mas muito divertido, jogabilidade simples, e com uma interface bem intuitiva, pelo preço eu acredito que vale muito a pena, para quem gosta de um jogo a moda antiga sem muita pretensão, mas que ainda assim te propõe um bom desafio, eu considero este game uma boa pedida.

Fun beat 'em up game with cool artwork and gameplay. You upgrade your gladiator by winning battles, gaining coins, and buying armor, shield, and weapon upgrades, as well as different skills. The 30 stages offer different scenarios to work through and challenge you to achieve 3 stars in each. You can boost your character for one challenge by buying things like bandages, thrown axes and spears, a pet lion, tiger, or panther (which offer different fighting advantages) as well as tribute to 1 of 3 gods that can boost you in the arena based on your crowd energy level, which you acquire by performing crowd pleasing moves like decapitations, multi-kills, throwing enemies into a pit, a bonfire, spiked pillars, etc. In addition to the campaign there is also a tournament which tests how far you can get in a 15 stage rumble.
Schönes Spiel. Preis-Leistung stimmt. Zeichenstil klasse. Game-Play macht Spaß. :)
