This game hasn't been updated since 2016, or so it seems. It doesn't handle high res scaling at all. Mess around with the free to play app before buying a table to see how terrible it is. Then, skip buying a table for these anti-consumer business practices by Stern. There was already a good pinball game, but Stern had to keep their licenses for this flaming dumpster fire of a "game".

The short version
Some tables are a great testament to their original physical counter parts, providing consistent and reactive enjoyment others have wood worm, neither are really worth the amount as many surounding aspects make some tables glitchy af. so fix the game, slide a coaster under the leg or stop charging us 5quid a bloody table! Most tables are still mostly playable so GET ON SALE!

played a few tables at 1st and the 1s i chose were good 1s but not surprising, they are linked to large franchises, unfortunately some of the less popular tables are not as well made, afew are even clunky and this sucks as i like these old horror tables. the lights are going off the sounds are playing but the experience is lacking.
and after we 1. pay too much money for a single table 2. find 1 that aint half ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 3. then finally beat the high scores you are met with the inability to select the right letter to even enter your 3l-tag, skipping past some letters for some untested, brain nailing reason (you can click manualy on screen instead but ffs)
also if i click on the free table it always selects the wrong table. sux.

on good tables game is fine but some problems may persist to mess with your joy, more than a few times my flipper strait out went, what? no i refuse to resort to violence! loosing me a round.

Solution.
buy the Ghostbusters table on sale (50%) and pencil and paper, camera/phone, write down your high score tag then your score, take a photo and upload it to steam then try and rally a group to share high scores while you quietly go insane and try galvanising your own disembowelled viscera and carefully arranging it in to a more realistic representation of Frankensteins less seen table, then die of a multiball.

None of these games work. It show 15 hours of playtime on my account because I left the game in the main menu over night after leaving my computer in frustration. Now I can't refund it.

1. Terrible user interface

2. And when you launch the interface it puts your purchased table/s all the way at the bottom,
making you scroll through all their locked purchasable tables first.

3. There's a bug where the interface starts to zoom in when you click the free Arnold table with your mouse.
(and even though this bug has been known for months it's still not fixed!)

And I'm not too sure about the physics in the tables either, just feels off somehow.

Game is currently in an unplayable state and support is not replying to my emails.

I have tried to refund my product but can't since FS is selling all the tables as "promotional products"

Don't make the mistake of paying your money in to this until FS treats PC gamers with respect. This is a cash grab.

Since all the content in Stern Pinball Arcade is now available in The Pinball Arcade, I can't see much point in owning this package as a stand-alone product, unless you are only interested in Stern Pinball tables. That said, the game is excellent in it's own right; albeit with a sub-standard user interface. You get to own some of the latest and greatest real world pinball tables, which can only be a good thing.

#UPDATE# I would now recommend owning this as a standalone product since most of the Bally/Williams tables are now in Pinball FX and there aren't any Stern tables in Pinball FX.

I have many games - they all work flawlessly. This game, after running the configuration utility, will not load as configured. Barely responsive menu, unable to get full screen. Seems broken. I was anxious to play AC/DC, but exited the game in disgust instead. There's always Visual Pinball I guess. Very disappointed, especially considering my high opinion of Pinball Arcade.

This is so worth playing now!

I own Pinball arcade on my android, iOS, playstation 3, Wii, and Steam. The Steam version is my favorite, soI was very excited when they announced a dedicated Stern version with modern games. I was very sad when it was released because it was literally unplayble. Scaling, slow down, crashes, menus broken, no portrait mode, didn't remember settings after restart, etc. Finally they updated all my complaints and I purchased pack one. Wow, I am a huge STTNG fan and am so impressed with Star Trek and ACDC.

My call out is to all of you that gave it a poor review. Give it another go, see if you agre with me and update your reviews so they will release Ghostbusters, Batman 66, and 20 other awesome stern games that I want to own. Without our positive reviews this may never happen. I am not suggesting to lie. I am suggesting to play it again and see that it is ready for prime-time. Their menu system could use some love, but it is stable and playable.

In the current state the game features two free tables and a lot of other Stern tables which can be bought for 10$ per table. Sadly it also contains a lot of bugs (even getting the game to play in fullscreen with native monitor resolution can be tricky) and an nearly unusable UI (at least unusable with a keyboard). In general SPA looks and feels like a bad console port.
Maybe Farsight should have just added the Stern tables to their other Product (The Pinball Arcade) because unlike SPA, TPA actually works quiete good.
However at the point of writing this review SPA is 'only' 1,5 months old so hopefully the bugs will be fixed soon.

I can't get past the loading screen. Core i7 @ 4Ghz and 16Gb RAM so should be able to run it.
At least it didn't cost anything, shame as I wanted to play AC/DC

After the latest patch update, the game is much better now. I'm very excited with this move, especially for those newer type of tables. It's very nice that they feature a better music in the newer table, something that I've always wanted. It made playing pinball more fun, almost like using a jukebox with themed songs. Compared to the same tables in TPA, it seems that some tables are looking brighter. But what interest me the most is the upcoming tables, which hopefully based on new tables. A fresh move from TPA classic tables. Hopefully the development is going to be solid and consistent.

Hats off to Farsight. They managed to take their excellent pinball simulation and wrap it up in an interface that is somehow even worse than the abysmal front end they have for The Pinball Arcade. It's also more unstable and the lighting on the tables defaults to a horribly over exposed look.
Still, once you manage to navigate your way through a menu created by some alien life form not used to the expectations of the average human and get the lighting setup to your liking, you will be able to play some excellent reproductions of real life Stern pinball tables. Like Pinball Arcade once you get to actually playing the tables, everything is great. You'll just have to wade through what may just be the most un-intuitive menu conceived in the modern era and maybe a few crashes to desktop a long the way.
I'm not a big fan of Stern tables, though people seem to really like the AC/DC table. You aren't able to try out tables you haven't bought as you can in Pinball Arcade. The free table, Frankenstein is quite good though and this game is worth downloading to play it.
If only Farsight could sort out their QA I could happily recommend this. Hopefully they get that sorted at some point.

I am a great pinball fan, so to be able to play modern tables is just a great fun and I could easily forget about the bugs, that are still in the client (I must press Alt+Enter twice to play fullscreen in full resolution). AC/DC and StarTrek are great fun. I can only recommend this game to every pinball fan who already played every table from the PinballArcade. This is the new stuff and I will enjoy to learn all modes of the new tables and play the game. Great fun. The only better way to spend the money... if you have the tables available live, then put that coins in there.

Stern should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this. Graphics are about 640X480 resolution - looks awful on a HD 1920 x 1080 screen. The UI is awful and it's got more bugs than a beehive. Even the free game is overpriced. Skip this one - save your money.
