I've played for forty hours and am 81/91 in the achievements. Easily one of the best roguelikes I've played. There's no permanent stat boosts the game throws at you for banging your head against the wall enough times, it eases you into the adventure with three modes that are essentially the same arcade type experience but at different lengths. All the passive and gear/usable items are fun and satisfying to have and nearly all the descriptions are clear about what they do. What's easily my favorite part of the game is that it makes you work to earn unlocking the new regions and the ten classes. You can't just find them, you need the right items, too. I must have passed by the trapped miner half a dozen times before I finally had enough bombs. And it's worth putting in the effort because all the classes play differently in their speed, jump height, how their bombs work, and their upgrades.

Music's fun, art direction is superb, just a cool experience all around. Highly recommended.

Ignore the under one hour reviews by utter noobs, they gave up on this amazing game way too early! Once you "get good", it gets good too! Much better than Spelunky in every way (except, maybe, the weird and twisted story and dialogue...). Tons more variety, amazing C64-style chip-tune soundtrack, great pixel graphics (Lemmings mixed with Dark Crystal aesthetic?), great controls, very exciting and action packed!
