I am really glad I came back and revisited this one. Its a very unique game and I have only played one other like it not from the Sparkle series. The music is more mellow and atmospheric than the others in the series. ZERO has a mono chromo twist and is more focused on an immersive solo gameplay experience. You start off as a single cell and float around some sort of medium eating up other things that are floating around until you grow bigger. You move on into a higher dimension and eat bigger things. Eventually growing into an absolute demon looking monster, an apex predator of your world. Sparkle Zero offers relaxing fun addictive gameplay. It even has cloud features and I have never lost my progress. Ten years strong the Sparkle series is still lighting up my screen.

É um jogo no-brainer, lento, sem muito estímulo visual, trilha sonora apagada, escuro e repetitivo. Praticamente um walking simulator, só que controlando um organismo estranho num lugar escuro, ao invés de um humano.
E isso era EXATAMENTE O QUE EU QUERIA. Pois é o tipo de coisa pra relaxar. Não pra divertir.
O problema é que, embora eu tenha gostado, topei com um aparente bug que não me deixa prosseguir. Sempre que tento entrar num portal (redemoinho) pra ir pra outra camada do cenário, o redemoinho me leva e, ato contínuo, me trás de volta. Então eu fiquei preso numa parte pequena do cenário, sem possibilidade de continuar.
Isso me desmotivou. Não vou nem tentar apagar meu save pra recomeçar e ver se o bug some.
Então eu não recomendo o jogo por isso. Pq apesar de ser uma ideia bacana (pra quem curte uns relax low profile), a parte técnica falha e pode acabar ferrando a sessão.

beyond游戏，开始界面进游戏花了一分钟找点哪里进游戏。进去游戏感觉光韵比较省眼音乐比较催眠就吃了一会豆子，吃了三分钟发现有个半透明的小地图提示你哪里又东西，瞎j点点吃，发现张嘴吃了要闭嘴，想吃下一个要等张嘴。过程中发现另一条大虫子，比我大，我也不敢碰他，去别的地方吃，吃着吃着又看见个黑洞，我还是不敢碰，感觉进去就是下一关，怕有成就没做，就先硬着头皮吃豆子让自己长大。这游戏玩跟没玩一样的感觉一直萦绕着我，硬着头皮把自己吃硬了，过去找大虫子碰碰，从身后卡尺一口哐当一声，把他吃死了，还跳了个成就。结果吃完大虫子让我眼前一亮，变形了，有点帅，心说艺术家装b范的设计者有点意思，可以好评。然后为了不知道有没有的成就把地图上豆子都吃完了。过程中发现虫子脑壳有提示你该去哪。一直提示我去黑洞。豆子都吃完了去黑洞，转的我都块睡着了，发现我tm进不去。三个黑洞挨个试了一下，转了十分钟，还是进不去，果断推出卸载差评。

Simplesmente nade(?) de um lado pro outro comendo pontos luminosos e outros criaturas luminosas até que seu sparkle cresça e você possa comer as maioria criaturas daquela área, depois você entra em um vortex e repete novamente todo processo, cada vez demorando um pouco mais.
Sem história, variação de gameplay ou algo único: a jogabilidade quase animal (luta do mais forte, cresça e domine os seus vizinhos) até serve de interesse pra alguns minutos de gameplay, mas o jogo têm uma hora e meia SÓ disso, não recomendo.

Simply swim (?) from one side to the other, eating glowing dots and other glowing creatures until your sparkle grows and you can eat most of the creatures in that area. Then you enter a vortex and repeat the whole process again, each time taking a little longer.
No story, gameplay variation, or anything unique: the almost animal-like gameplay (fight for the strongest, grow, and dominate your neighbors) is interesting for a few minutes of gameplay, but the game is an hour and a half long ONLY, so I don't recommend it.

This game sucks. All you do is swim around and eat things. Once you've eaten enough, you win and the game just ends. That's it.
And I mean it ENDS. The screen goes white and just stays that way. No credits, no main menu, no nothing. I pushed every button and waited like 5 minutes but nothing happened. The game just quietly crashed or something. I don't think they expected anybody to actually beat this. Which is weird because I'm pretty sure you can't die.
I think I took damage exactly once. It was very early on. The screen got all red when I was trying to eat a fellow Glitter or whatever they're called, but then he died on the second nudge so I guess I was fine. So I'm pretty sure you can't die.
The closest thing to a threat outside of your fellow Twinkles are those little gear things that knock you all around. You don't take damage from them but they like to team up on you, bounce you about, and block your path. So they're really more of an annoyance than anything. They merely prolong progress, rather than halt or prevent it. But really, what else could they do? After all, I'm pretty sure you can't die.
All you have to do is keep swimming towards the little sugar cubes and you'll eventually win.

It's not like you're racing other players or competent NPCs or anything. Eventually you'll eat all of the little sugar cubes because nothing can stop you. [*][h3]Make the Sparkler body reflect the types of food eaten.[/h3] This part irritated me the most. Your body will always turn out the same, regardless if you always chase down your food or if you only eat stationary, non-moving food. I assumed, [i]at the very least[/i], it would change the look of your tapeworm. But it doesn't. The smart move is to make it affect your movement speed, damage, or some other stats, too.
[*][h3]Make it so the player can die.[/h3] Nothing is a threat to you and as soon as you figure that out, the game turns into a checklist of achievements to unlock. Now that I've unlocked them all, I'm free to uninstall it and never play or think about it again. Just delete it and forget it.[/olist]

Check out Cubivore for the Gamecube instead. It's basically the same concept, with its aspects of evolution, diet, and even artsy-ness, except it's actually good. It's not great, but it's way better at all 3 than this.
Oh yeah, and the default controls for the Steam Deck are broken. And I mean "broken" and not "missing" because there's a checkbox in the options menu to disable the controller. Regardless of it's enabled or not, controller inputs never work.

Of course, the visuals were endearing yet began to depreciate as each level began to simply repeat the least with little to no difference—just an obstacle for the player to surpass in mass and optionally eat. Sparkle ZERO focused on having this sort of esoteric serenity to it, but its overall execution makes it function no better than a screensaver and look no worse than a technology demonstration.
Think first level of Spore or those classic fish eat smaller fish game we all played on the library computer at school on flash games browsers. Fun for a quick romp, but not even the best version of what this game can be.

It is a downgrade in every regard.

The previous games were already very casual, but this one is the most casual of them all.
Gameplay is boring and returns to the sins of the 1st game, where you just collect resources.
There are no threats or death.
Because everything and everyone is the same color, it all blends together and you can't distinguish where you are.
Gone are the upgrades and abilities, your character design is just an illusion, your head is the only hitbox that matters.

This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Playing on a 1080 ti and the game started fine...but WELL before the end, was at 7fps. A system I can play Red Dead Redemption 2 closing in on max settings at 4k/60 and this game gets SEVEN. Pathetic performance.
As for the game itself. It's trash-tier. Bad controls. Simplistic, but not bad art style. Halfway through my game my controller died. The game wouldn't accept controller support after that. Mouse/keyboard controls sucked.
I paid 49 cents for this game and it's not remotely worth that price. Avoid it. It's just bad.

Overall Sparkle ZERO is boring game with no gameplay depth where you only eat some cell and few moving organism. The visual is okay, but the audio is meh. If you're looking to pass some time, just find free game on Steam or try different game on your library instead.

Sparkle Zero - это третья часть серии Sparkle проигрывает двум предыдущим по всем показателям. Ты - мелкий организм, который движется в толще воды, питаешься всем, что умещается в рот. Твоя цель - эволюционировать и отведать всех на обед, даже самых больших и страшных существ. Sparkle Zero вышла короткой, неинтересной. Ни один игровой элемент не способствует тому, чтобы запускать её во второй раз. А ведь сама концепция интересна и многим знакома еще с времён первой Spore.
[b]Графический стиль.[/b] Визуально игра стала больше походить на реальную среду обитания подобных микроорганизмов. В сравнении с Sparkle 2 Evo выглядит блекло, но найдутся и те, кому понравится такой минималистический стиль. Это вообщем-то не минус.
[b]Геймплей.[/b] Эта часть быстро наскучивает из-за обилия однотипных микроэлементов, малого количества подводных обитателей и всего одним уровнем с энным количеством водных слоёв. Никакого разнообразия. Испытанием в игре служит только получение всех достижений. Для получения 50-го уровня организма придётся вычищать все слои под чистую, это занятие быстро надоедает. Достигнутый уровень вашего "паразита" никак не узнать, приходится примерно догадываться о его текущем уровне, ориентируясь на звуковое сопровождение в момент level-up. На самом деле истинная цель игры становиться понятна в конце - это достигнуть 50-го уровня. Это всё. Достигнув его тебе скажут, что ты стал самым большим, далее текст "Are you?" и...белый экран. Наша 'искорка' так объелась, что умирая увидела свет в конце тоннеля?! Придётся "убивать" процесс в диспетчере или использовать ALT+F4.
[b]Оптимизация.[/b] Когда вы потребляете в пищу медузу, то она распадается на микроэлементы, которые приводят к сильным просадкам fps. Если эти элементы быстро поглотить, то fps даже возвращается в норму. Но есть забавный момент. Эти элементы могут украсть 'стрелочки', которые могут носиться с ними по уровню, тем самым понижая fps еще больше. Отключение эффектов в настройках ситуацию не спасают. Выход в меню и перезапуск помогает, прогресс сохраняется. Короче, не жрите медуз.
[b]Музыка.[/b] Грамотно подобранный саундтрек мог бы сильнее погрузить в эту холодную бездну, я бы сильнее проникся нелёгким бытием 'искорки'. Но треков тут всего чуть и они совсем не добавляют атмосферы. Лучше пойти на di.fm и включить какой-нибудь space dream или ambient для фона.
[b]Ошибка (но скорее конфликт с контроллером) кочующая из части в часть.[/b] В этой части снова можно столкнуться с невозможностью перемещение по слоям воды. Ошибка лечится, но каждый раз приходится соображать - почему не работает скролл и кнопки отвечающие за всплытие и погружение. В ZERO это кнопки R и F, в EVO были Z и X. В игре напрочь отсутствуют обучение и настройки управления, так что, разбирайтесь в кнопках типа сами.
[b]Кому играть в Sparkle ZERO?[/b] Охотникам за достижениями ради лёгких 100%. Время на получение всех достижений - около часа.
[b]Коротко о частях:[/b]
Sparkle 2 Evo. Приятная графика; разнообразные уровни и обитатели; несколько режимов игры; боссы; интересно влиять за развитие зверёныша и самому находить способы потребления организмов; путешествовать по слоям воды можно в любом месте; средняя продолжительность игры 3-4 часа; простые достижения.
Sparkle 3 Genesis. Не играл, но одобряю. Почти всё тоже самое, что в Evo. Добавили квесты на уровни; путешествие по слоям воды сделали через вихри в определённых местах, что стало ограничивать свободу "таракашки". Муторные достижения часов на 15.
Sparkle ZERO. короткая и невзрачная часть; путешествие по слоям воды тоже через вихри; очень простые достижения.
Sparkle 4 Tales. Ничего не знаю про четвёртую часть.

Took 1.1 hours to complete(2.2 hours from AFKing trading cards) with absolutely no reason at all to play the game again.
This is a very poor attempt at a sequel. Unlike the other 2 Sparkle games this one has no systems of any kind, you're thrown into the Sparkle world with 0 explanation of anything, no goal, no quest, no nothing. Even the world that you are in has 0 obstructions or art or anything, it is literally just a sea of things you can eat until you reach max level.
Turns out that the only goal in this game is to eat things until you level up to level 50(there's no menu or even a pop-up or anything that shows your level, no skill points, nothing). Once you reach level 50 nothing happens other than text popping up that says "You are the biggest sparkle", then a few seconds later the screen turns white and the text "Are you?" pops up, then fades away while the screen permanently stays white. I had to ALT+F4 to quit the game.
Tolerable to play while watching something on a 2nd monitor but there is no excuse for such a bad sequel, no excuse for removing every mechanic from the game.
Maybe the devs got aggrieved after the mixed response to the previous title and didn't bother to complete this fully and just released what they had and ended it there. What other explanation can there be for such a piss-poor attempt?

Pretty boring and starts to lag in the last few levels.
Pretty, hallucinatory graphics and sound; not much gameplay to speak of. Games of this sort (maneuver in a plane, consume small things, avoid dangers, grow big) have been around plenty... sometimes you're a fish, or you're an amoeba, or you're a snake, or you're a computer virus... the skin on the game really doesn't make much difference. [i]Sparkle ZERO[/i] is just that same game again, with an exceptionally cool-looking skin. It adds nothing to the concept; it has no special twist; it becomes boring quickly.
If all you really want from a game is a mindless experience with some terrific eye-candy attached, [i]Sparkle ZERO[/i] will serve the purpose, but even then there are more interesting choices available.

A short game in which you start as a small organism and grow as you eat elements. Not as colorful as the others in the Sparkle series, but it's very easy to get all the achievements and the music is good in my opinion.

Worth to buy on sale as a casual game
Sparkle ZERO не оправдала моих ожиданий. Поиграв в третью часть, чисто на расслабоне, потыкивая мышкой на работе, слушая в общем-то приятную музыку, я ожидала примерно этого же и от первой части, но.
Игра первая, явно не до конца доработанная, может больше как пробная что ли. В общем, музыка пропадает, локация одна, вся суть тупо в том, чтобы есть, есть, есть, есть… Причем можно есть не все, все-равно вырастешь и получишь все достижения.
В общем игруля для тех, кто хочет побольше список идеальных игр и за короткие сроки получить с десяток достижений. 1-1,5 и все готово, не более того. Удовольствие вряд ли будет.
Но это не повод не знакомится с третьей частью! Там и локации интереснее и музыка не прерывается и ветви развития появляются, так что исследуйте остальные части, пропустив эту, что б не разочаровываться!

Есть ачивка достичь 50 уровня и стать самым сильным. так вот, босс - 50. ты либо слишком слаб для него, либо.. достиг 50 и игра заканчивается, выдавая достижение.
Простая короткая казуальная игра, напоминающая начало игры Spore.
По сути для релакса. Плаваем, едим, атакуем, растём - вроде бы не о чем.
Если нравится такое, то можно взять.
Вообще нет смысла в этой игре, таких очень много.
Один плюс это карточки,для великого СТИМА.
Все очень стандартно и однотипно, даже вникать не хотелось.

If you aren't familiar with this series. It consists of 3 games and this one is the last installment. I'm really not sure why they named this one "Zero" and the first game "Sparkle 2 Evo" like do these people not know how to count? Way to confuse new players.
Anyways lets get to the game itself. Sparkle Zero is absolutely a terrible game. It has good things about it. But its just not enough to justify the bad. Its nowhere near great like the first two games in the series. This one just looks and plays like garbage. The soundtrack is nice like all of the sparkle games. So that's a plus i suppose.
Unfortunately i cant recommend this game to anyone. But I can highly recommend the predecessors Sparkle 2 Evo and Sparkle 3 Genesis. These are very nice games and what made them great was stripped from Sparkle Zero. The original developers called Forever Entertainment didn't actually develop Sparkle Zero. Instead a new team called MMEU did which could explain a lot.

Да, она эстетична, минималистична и медитативна. Но настолько же и однообразен геймплей. Никаких биомов, никакой растительности, просто несколько слоёв с десятками однотипной кормёжки и несколькими видами мобов.
Музыка, как известно, плюс в любом Sparkle, но тут она зачем-то работает локально, поэтому большую часть времени Zero вы проведёте в одних эффектовых звуках.
И при всей маловесности игры на слое с хороводами стрелок после их разгула начались серьёзные тормоза, я как раз получил 50ур, экран побелел почти полностью, смог лишь увидеть "Are you?". А дальше что, хрен знает, и Esc не помог, закрыл игру через клиент.
И поиграно-то час с небольшим, хоть возвращай, да 15 деревянных не весть какие деньги, и коллекцию жалко урезать.
This one is bad. Its pretty much shovelware and should be passed on by. Its sequels however, might be worth looking into.

This game is really easy to complete. If you have very sensitive eyes or epilepsy, I would not recommend you play this game, as every now and then the screen will "pulse" and the explosions are really bright. Other than that I really enjoyed the game and it was really fascinating and beautiful to play. As this game does not have a tutorial, it takes a while to get the controls, but once you figure out the controls, it's really easy to play.

I had seen the trailer for [i]Sparkle ZERO[/i], and its setting immediately caught my attention: it resembles a microcosmic world, where bacteria and viruses reign over an abyssal blue background. The game itself is simple — a creature feeds and grows. Visually, it recalls a kind of radiographic naturalism, allowing us to see its skeleton, its architectural parts. Yet beyond its appearance, the game remains detached from meaning, unable to evoke feeling or reflection. I cannot recommend it, for it does not seem to pursue any greater purpose — unless passing time is, in itself, the goal.
