The horror movie theme is misleading--this is a surprisingly deep and challenging puzzle game. Players must guide the killer (whose identity changes in each chapter) to murder each victim and reach the exit, but the killer can only move in straight lines and stops only when reaching a wall or victim. The main gimmick is that the victims must be killed in a particular order in order to reach all of them and the goal, and often have to be manipulated by scaring them into running away or though various level mechanics like telephones and light switches.

There's a lot of play value here. Each "movie" introduces one or two new mechanics, simple but with profound mechanics. Turning the lights off prevents victims from seeing you and running away, disables deadly electric fences, and lets you kill cops with impunity (but watch out for the laser sights of the SWAT team). Victims can see you past low walls. You're not allowed to kill cats (this is a movie, no animal cruelty!), and they run away from ringing phones instead of toward them. And so on.

There are ten regular movies plus two bonus movies, and they get hard. Very hard. I play a lot of these sorts of games, and I had to use the hint feature two or three times in the bonus levels. But they're all fair and doable. There are no surprises, no random behavior, and no skill or speed required. With persistence, experimentation, and thinking outside the box, you'll eventually be able to clear every level.

My one gripe is the in-game money feature. You get a few coins for clearing a quick minigame at the end of every level, and these are used to unlock new kill animations and new killers. The problem is that earning money is slow and the rewards are expensive. Since this is a puzzle game, there's little replay value, which means that most of the animations and killers will remain locked by the time you complete the game. There's a "grind" movie which just lets you play the minigame over and over again to earn money, but it's incredibly boring. Fortunately, the unlocks are all cosmetic, and you can find unlock codes online, but still, it's paced poorly for someone who just wants to sit down and play the game.

Highly recommended for puzzle game fans, especially those who want a real challenge.

Sliding block puzzle game. You are a voxel on a grid, who happens to be a serial killer. Slide across the grid, using barriers and obstacles to determine your path, to reach your objectives, which happen to be people you want to kill. Interact with your objectives (and kill them). Drive objectives into traps and avoid them yourself. Collect all the toys.

This is not the game I thought it would be.

When I first saw the trailer for the game, I assumed it was primarily a slasher game. A cartoony, comical slasher game with a South Park vibe. I was mistaken. It's a block-sliding puzzle game that happens to have a cartoony, comical slasher theme. The developers didn't HAVE to do this. They could have simply made a block-sliding puzzle game. But they didn't. They wrapped their geometrical, topological puzzle in gore and painted it with blood. Because, I assume, anyone can make a block-sliding puzzle game.

The puzzles are grids that have various obstacles such as walls, fences, tikis, etc, things to break up your slide. Whatever direction you move in, you continue to move until you hit a barrier or the edge of the grid. Or a hazard, such as a hole, a firepit, a lake, etc. Or a victim. Hitting a victim will kill them in a (slider-adjustably) graphic manner. Sometimes landing next to a victim will cause that victim to flee into a hazard. Kill all the victims, then move to the designated exit square to finish the level.

You earn action figures from kills that you can add to your excitingly expansive trophy case, and also earn coins to buy toys you haven't earned yet. Levels are organized in "movies"; completing a movie grants access to the next movie, and also a new serial killer skin. Collect all the toys. Wear all the skins. Play all the movies. Kill all the people. In this block-sliding puzzle game.

Nothing I can object to here. Even the gore, since the level of gore displayed is adjustable. The movie showcase looks like it holds a lot, so there's likely lots and lots of content, plus, apparently, DLCs. Didn't experience any bugs. The puzzles are challenging. And then there's the blood. "Oh yes...there will be blood."

Got it in a Humble Bundle for slightly more than US$1. At its current store price of $9 I suspect it's well worth the money. At the current onsale price of $1.79 it's phenomenal...someone thought that price needed slashing.

I’d like to emphasize that this game is by no means life-changing. It’s a pretty simple puzzle game. The atmosphere can wear a little thin when you’re stuck and trying to bruteforce a puzzle, and the sole extra gameplay mode is just a shallow tool to get easy money to buy out the rest of the unlockables.

Ultimately, though, this is a very fun, well-presented collection of puzzles. The voxel animation hits the right balance of tones, cute enough to be a cheeky parody without overplaying the silliness. The murder clips that pepper the puzzles help to break up the confined levels, injecting cinematic vigor as you contemplate the static game board. The video store setting and analog media design elements add to the game’s retro charm.

Again, that charm wears a little thin when you buckle down to solve the puzzles, but if you know what you’re getting into, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Fun sliding puzzle game with cute graphics and nostalgic sounds. I will say this game is probably best playing in little bites, as the act of figuring out the puzzles can get a bit repetitive, if not tedious (eventually). I've been playing for about five hours and realize I need to call it quits for a bit so I don't get sick of the game. The game does have pixelated blood and gore but it looks like you can turn those settings off to be more family-friendly. Would definitely recommend if you like silly slasher-type stuff and puzzles :)

Although simple graphics compared to games that are 'high def', it's fun to play and think of strategies on winning each level. Sometimes it is something simple whereas other times you may have to play a few times to get past the level. Worst case, you can always use your coin stash (from winning games) to get hints or skip the level/show the answer.

great puzzle game, not the hardest puzzle game ive ever played but that's far from a bad thing though. Lots of great fun puzzles, good unlockables, some of them are real thinkers. It has a good hint system as well, and I really like the level skipping feature. Pack 9, Final Level has been my favourite so far.

I think if you want a fun puzzle game with some solid puzzles, that's not as hard as nails like DROD or Steven Sausage, i very rccommend this

edit: after beating it you get a bunch of bonus levels that are much harder

This adorable little game combines people's two favorite things; puzzle solving and bloody homicide. This is what a good puzzler looks like.
I'm not talking visuals, obviously: this eyesore would be fully camouflaged inside Minecraft or on the facade of a brutalist building.
I'm talking gameplay and interface.

This studio employs an excellent puzzle designer.
The trickiest scenes will give you a run for your money, while the easiest ones will still amuse you for their cleverness.

With the genre's primary criterion covered, you'll also get simple and sleek controls, an easy to use GUI, an entertaining presentation, great visibility, and creative art; I love the sound in this game.
While others will enjoy the jagged blocky characters for their style, I appreciate that they make the brutal gore amusing instead of repulsive. Still not for kiddies though.

One detail for all loonies out there: this game has cats. Now you can't resist, muhaha.

Расслабляющая игра, в которой иногда надо хорошенько пораскинуть мозгами чтобы пройти дальше. В основном уровни легкие и не занимают много времени. Игра идеально подходит для фона во время разговора или когда нечем себя занять, с удовольствием проходил каждый уровень. С каждой локацией механики меняются и это делает игру разнообразной и каждый уровень не похож на прошлый. Интересная и смачная графика, глазам приятно смотреть.

Unless you're SUPER into these puzzle sliders game or really like this game's theme, it's better to just wait for a good sale on the bundle if you genuinely want to give the game a try.

Pros
-Decent graphics and the facial expressions of the blocky characters can sometimes be entertaining
-A decent amount of movies to play through, with or without DLC
-Ability to enable packs/death animations individually in pack section of the video store
-Big selection of chars to choose and play as
-Extra levels you can play after finishing a movie for the first time
-Easy to 100%

Cons
-Repetitive gameplay
-Puzzles do get more complex as time goes on, but the later levels in a few of the later movies and some of the extra levels are just really tedious. Some of the harder levels just feel like a bunch of stuff was slapped together for difficulty's sake.
-Some of the packs are pretty similar to each other in terms of theme and content
-Multiple parts of the game can lose their novelty fast, including the puzzles.

用45度的視角玩倉庫番很彆扭，但轉成垂直視角畫面又不好看
必須不斷切換視角，爽感就被打斷了

If you enjoy slasher films, and puzzles get this game. Whilst I am more of a slasher fan and much less of a puzzle fan I still really enjoyed this. Packed full of references and accompanied by a huge array of content Slayaway Camp is a very fun game, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to kill a few hours whilst pointing like the Leonardo DiCaprio meme (you know the one) when they see a reference to a film they've more then likely watched.

说回游戏，本作是一款以恐怖片为主题的走格子益智游戏，玩家可以操纵来自各种熟悉的恐怖片里的杀手，给受害人带来各式死法，受害人不只有普通人，当舞台来到外星、天堂、地狱时，受害人也随之变成了外星人、天使、恶魔，比较黑色幽默的是，在游戏中如果让猫咪死亡却会判定为虐待动物而导致游戏失败。
本作的设计可谓十分用心，章节的选择是挑选货架上的影片，关卡的选择则是用遥控器选择集数，进入下一关的目标点是法阵，额外关卡是十七禁场景和额外片段，通关失败会有带着背景音乐的滚动演员表冒出来。
在本作中被折磨的除了游戏内的受害人外，还有游戏外的玩家，毕竟这游戏是真的烧脑，后面我是明显跟不上设计师的思路了，所以玩得很吃力。

Очень хорошая и сложная головоломка. Советую всем кто хочет сломать свою голову, и не только свою.
На счет достижений: чтобы получить все, придется погриндить несколько часов. Даю некоторые советы:
Если вам не хватает убийств для достижения "число зверства", советую открыть 2 фильм slayaway camp, открыть удаленные (новые) сцены, и зайти на третью, там вы быстро и с легкостью делаете 4 убийства, после прохождения сцены заходите снова на эту сцену, и так по кругу, пока не выполните. На счет фарма монет (для достижений вам понадобится много), играйте в "смертельные лица", и старайтесь сделать как можно больше убийств, так как дают больше монет.
